I could see Jaune and Ren having tension after he returns to Remnant, because the two never fully resolved their issues from Volume8. Perhaps Ren will eventually say something along the lines of "I've spent all this time fighting against the end of the world while thinking you're dead. You have no idea how much I've suffered." Which will make Jaune reveal what he really went through in the Ever After. "I spent years alone thinking I would never see my teammates and home again. Friends of mine have died over and over again, and I was never able to save them! Don't pretend you have the slightest idea what I've been through!" The two of them will eventually make up (primarily because of best girl Nora) and get the team hug they desperately needed for so long.

I think Cinder will betray Salem. No, it will not be because she has a change of heart and wishes to join the good guys. It's far too late for that given her sins and their grudges against her. Salem was compared to Cinder's abusive stepmother in Volume8. Cinder's stepmother used Cinder like a slave, until she eventually snapped, and murdered her in cold blood. Salem was shown torturing Cinder, and using her in similar ways.

Also, I found it interesting how Salem had no interest in the Winter Maiden power, yet when Salem noticed how Cinder was upset about being told to stay put, Salem suddenly changed her mind and gave Cinder the OK. I think Salem noticed how angry Cinder was, and changed her tune, because she didn't want to lose her most powerful and useful tool. Cinder managed to get her two Relics and has killed Ozma in the past as well as destroyed two kingdoms, so Salem still sees use in Cinder, and wants Cinder to believe she is powerful by her side, so she continues following her orders. If Cinder were to betray Salem, she would be a wildcard, and Salem is only as powerful as she is because she is good at controlling the situation, and Cinder could become a real threat against her plans if she desired to.

Maybe we'll eventually get a scene where Cinder gets fed up with Salem holding her back from getting the power she yearns for, and also realizes that Salem is no better than her abusive stepmother, making her retaliate. Salem is based off the Salem With Trials where witches were burned at the stake; Salem is the witch, and Cinder has fire magic. Cinder will not be able to kill Salem because she is immortal, but she can temporarily burn her to ash, rid herself of the Grimm arm so Salem cannot track her, and make her escape. Then, she'd be free to chase after the Maidens as much as she pleases without anyone ordering her around.

Though, that's only if things go the way Cinder wants them to. Hazel barely managed to beat Salem down with his full strength. Cinder may have the Maiden power, but Salem has magic as well, and control over the Grimm within Cinder's body. It's very likely Cinder could be killed during her betrayal. Hopefully, the Fall Maiden power would go to someone else, and not Salem. If it went to one of the good guys, then Cinder's betrayal and death would at least help increase their odds at victory in battles, and give them the ability to access the Relic of Choice.

Whatever happens, I hope that Cinder does eventually meet her end in a way that gives the heroes satisfaction since she took so much from them.
