Listen... I know the cancellation of Shadow and Bone is the worst thing that ever happened. I know we hate Netflix with all our hearts, as we should! However, one... just one good thing that we got out of that cancellation... is this! Everything above. All of you. In my opinion, the most powerful fandom in the world. None of us would have witnessed the might of our incredible fandom without the cancellation.

It pleases me so much knowing how much love there is. How people love the books, love the show, love the characters, love the Crows, love the ships, love the friendships. We took Kaz Brekker's words "We never stop fighting," and ran with them. Fucking screamed them from rooftops. I know many of you are still furious and desperate, you have every right to be, but just be proud of what you accomplished. Be proud of how far you've come, and how amazing you are.

Keep fighting. Keep Kaz's words in your heart and keep fighting. Knives drawn, pistols blazing. Keep up the fight. Don't give up!

I did a lot of impulsive things last year for the Grishaverse, many of which had immediate fun benefits (I got to have drinks with Kit! I got hugs from Kit!). But buying Netflix shares just so I could write them annoyed letters about the Shadow and Bone and Six of Crows cancellations as a concerned shareholder was probably the silliest. Stupidest? Most irrational? I don't hold enough stock to be significant but when folks say companies listen to shareholders...maybe my wee voice backed by held stock will help the deluge of other fan mail. No mourners no funerals.

Why Shadow and Bone was Cancelled ⬇️

OK so this is one of the biggest questions i see asked in the fandom discourse about the cancellation of Shadow and Bone. It’s actually pretty simple, Netflix is a corporation aiming to turn as big a profit as possible. The reason the show was caned and the spinoff was not greenlit is that it was super expensive to make. Despite the good viewing figures, Netflix obviously don’t think the views justify the cost. Shows that got less views but were renewed are likely much less expensive. To make my opinionI still think its bull, because I’m sure netflix can afford it but they just want as much money as possible. I also want to say that while the show is not likely to be brought back because of common people asking a big corporation, there is always a chance, especially if we can show Netflix they will profit out of renewal.
