No day is ever the same in life. One day may seem simple and wonderful, while the next it may seem like everything goes wrong. The hard days are the ones we need to stay strong. We need to alter how we see the day and we can make something good come of it. It's about what we tell ourselves that determines how we feel about things in our lives. Healing from issues in our life isn't just a matter of physical healing. Our mental gets broken as well. If we don't repair the mental trauma that comes along with any hard times in life we will never truly be healed. The spiritual often times breaks, as well, when we feel that everything has gone wrong. We begin to question our beliefs and faith, yet we need those in order to be whole and happy. Today I wasn't going to do anything for training, but I realized that this training helps me feel good all day long. Leg Day!

The two words I used to dread, ones which I never thought I would come to love, like liver and onions:

Leg. Day.

Tonight’s the night, my friends! I am a week back into the grind of a new fitness routine, one which does not make a “new me” in the New Year, but one which makes “new lines to show tone and sculpted, strong body parts”. Pretty catchy slogan for 2019? I think so.

My weekly regimen is pretty simple, and of all the things I assumed I would never quite come to love is Leg Day. I start with the stepmill to warm up and rock out a series of circuits which not only define my quadriceps, glutes, calves but I rock out an hour of a Rihanna Pandora playlist and work out my woes to gain mental clarity and a soaked in sweat, fearless body. The thing I feared before was that my legs would burn and I would be filled with regret from an insane workout. The thing I end up fearing now is not being able to complete this twice a week!

I gain:

...clear skin from sweat, cleansing my pores and extra energy from the water I need to drink to prevent dehydration and soreness

...mental clarity from pushing negativity out as I’m exerting the energy to stand, squat, lunge and press large muscle groups

...energy from immediately feeling stronger, with newfound stamina and appreciation for what I can accomplish

...definition and pride in muscles I generally choose to ignore

It’s not for everyone, but I owe it to myself to keep it up for me!
