It had been a few weeks since you were discharged, and by some miracle, it had been a few weeks since your favourite nurse had slipped you a piece of paper with his phone number. You still couldn’t believe it. The two of you hit it off so well when he took you out for coffee on one of his days off, that, naturally, you gathered up what courage you had and asked him out. It was how you had ended up being Bucky’s girlfriend.
Life wasn’t always going to be so kind, however.
It was like being run over by a truck, and then a train, and just to make matters even better, your period was the final touch.
You could hear rain pattering against the window and you felt a rush of gratitude to your past self for having the brilliant idea to gather blankets the night before.
Then, the realisation dawned on you that today was the day - Bucky had today off and he was planning to take you out for a surprise, and you groaned aloud. You reached for your phone and snatched it from your bedside cupboard, the screen lighting up to show a cute selfie you had coerced Bucky into taking, on your first date.
Bucky’s number dialled and you shuffled back into the covers, burrowing into self-pity while your stomach cramped and everything ached. You didn’t want to disappoint Bucky, but you didn’t think you could even stand long enough to prepare any damn food, let alone cope with the ‘surprise’.
“Hey, baby girl!”
It was an effort to stem the tears and choke back a sob. “Hey, Buck,” you replied. “I, uh–I’m sorry, I can’t do today-”
“What’s wrong, are you alright?”
You could hear the concern in his voice and you pictured him frowning, a deep furrow between his brows. “I’m sick again, a-and I got my period and-” The dam broke. Your sobs were quiet and muffled behind your hand but you could hear Bucky on the line moving around.
“Hey, you’re alright, baby, hang on-” There was a clatter and a distant muffled curse. “Are you at your place?”
Nodding automatically, you realised he couldn’t see. “Yeah, I am, please you don’t need-”
“Nuh-uh, stop that.” There were more clattering sounds and then you heard the rustle of a coat. “I need to make a couple stops first, and then I am going to come and take care of my girl, whether she wants me to, or not.”
Sniffling and hiccuping, you didn’t answer. “You sit tight, baby. Can you get up for me and have some water?” You attempted to move but a rippling pain tore through your stomach and hips, all the way up to your shoulders and down to your toes. Your cry of pain was enough to make Bucky speak louder into the phone, “Okay, no, you stay there, I’ll be there in about twenty minutes. Can you time me, baby girl? It’ll distract you, and if I am late, every minute is a tub of ice-cream I owe you.”
“Okay,” you whispered, hoping that the gratitude you felt could be heard in your small voice.
“Atta girl, I’ll see you soon.” The line clicked and you opened the timer, doing as he had said.
Twenty-seven minutes later, there was a shuffling sound at your front door, then a quiet knock. “It’s me, baby girl, can you open the door? Or should I get Wanda?” You pulled your phone closer and messaged: Wanda has the key, she’s WFH today.
Footsteps sounded and then voices sounded out your door - your neighbour, Wanda, was a close friend and the two of you had keys to one another’s apartments, in the likely event that either of you forgot your keys. “Give her my love, Bucky,” Wanda said and you heard a set of footsteps retreating, while the lock on your front door unlocked with a quiet click.
“Hey, baby, I’m here.” The door creaked closed and then you could hear Bucky walking around your apartment. “Where are ya, sweetheart?” Bags rustled in his hands and then his head appeared around your doorway, finding you at last amongst your burrito of blankets. “There you are.”
Bucky padded softly into your room and you watched with glassy eyes as he placed down a bag from Target and CVS on the end of your bed, and a brown paper bag on your bedside cupboard. “How’s my girl?”
“I look and feel horrible-”
“You are never not beautiful, even when you’re hurting.” Bucky knelt down so he could look into your face. “Baby, I am a nurse, remember? Talk to me, what’s wrong?”
You were silent for a moment and Bucky brushed his thumb over your cheek, over the tear tracks. “I feel crappy and everything hurts, and my tummy aches.”
“Well, I have a couple things,” Bucky began, shuffling over to grab the Target bag. “This lil’ fella,” he pulled free a teddy, the material soft and fluffy and in your favourite colour. You stared in shock at the bear. “I knew he was perfect for you.”
Bucky offered you the bear, and you held him to your chest, tears falling down your cheeks. “And I brought some pain relief–I didn’t know what you preferred so I just bought the lot, and some pads, tampons, that sorta thing–and a hot water bottle, and some soup,” he gestured to the paper bag.
“Thank you,” you whispered, staring at him with wide eyes. Bucky smiled.
“How about a warm bath, and then we have a movie marathon?” You nodded and Bucky helped you to the shower.
Bucky had kept himself occupied by changing your sheets, being sure to pile the blankets back on, and you couldn’t ignore how your heart fluttered at the sight of him concentrating on making your safe space comfortable. When he looked up to find you in the doorway, he smiled.
And dammit all, you fell in love.

[Head trauma cw]
One of my coworkers had a nasty fall a couple days ago and now has a mild concussion. I was curious: when you had yours a few years back, was there anything that the people around you did that was particularly helpful? Or alternatively is there anything that, in retrospect, would have been nice if people had done or kept in mind while you were healing?
That's a very thoughtful thing to ask!
We have a very solid work-from-home policy at my work from before the pandemic, and it was hugely helpful to me to be allowed WFH for a few days after my TBI, because while I was getting back on an even keel intellectually, my decision-making and balance were both a bit off and getting to and from work was a difficult task. I think that was the biggest thing, being able to stress-free keep up with work while not having to travel or wear difficult clothing.
That said, working from home was also challenging because there was construction going on RIGHT outside my window, and the noise was really difficult to tune out. So, if they are feeling okay and in the office, being quiet while in their area and speaking to them in clear, audible, but perhaps low-intensity voice may help.
The important thing my boss and colleagues kept in mind with me is that my decision-making wasn't great, so I would mess up more than usual, and needed extra proofreading and a little understanding. Just people going "Hey, caught this, you may need to fix it, let me know if you need help" gently. :)
But honestly -- if you're in a place to ask, I'd ask, because concussion symptoms can vary dramatically. The best possible thing to do is say to them, "Hey, I want to be supportive while you recover. I had a friend who went through this and it was awful -- let me know if you need help or accommodation, okay?" and just listen to what they say.
And do bear in mind that post-concussion syndrome is a thing; I had it off-and-on for a year, where the concussion symptoms would just roar back for a day or so, and I'd have to take it off or work from home. I know someone who had such bad post-concussion syndrome that they've been unable to work. If they need to take a day or two like, six months from now because of the concussion, letting them know you understand and aren't suspicious of them will probably take a lot of stress off.

hi katy! felt like sharing this, but after some months of job searching and not going anywhere, i finally have a place interested in interviewing me! it’ll be a hybrid job, with one day going to the office and five days WFH. i really wanna try and do well on this, do you, or any of the rest of your followers, have any interview tips to help prepare?
Thanks for all you do, you’re a wonderful person! And I hope you have a happy halloween! :^)
I'm so happy for you!! That sounds awesome and I really hope you get the job!
Anyway, I definitely recommend prepping for the interview instead of just winging it. I know that sounds obvious, but you'd be amazed at how much less stressful an interview is if you've prepared for it beforehand. Obviously you're not gonna know what questions they'll ask ahead of time, but when I was interviewing I looked up different articles about the most common interview questions and tried to prepare answers for them.
Also, when they ask you "tell me about yourself," don't talk about your love of anime or your knitting hobby. You want to give like a 3 sentence overview of your work experience and skills, especially how it relates to the job you're interviewing for.
You also want to make sure you thoroughly research the company and job description beforehand. They're very likely gonna ask why you want this position, and "I need the money" or "you have great benefits" isn't the answer they want to hear. For example, for my most recent job interview for the job I landed, I said that I was very interested in the position because it allows me to expand my knowledge of accounting and because the company I now work for is a not-for-profit doing important work.
If you can't think of anything flattering to say about the company's function, just focus on the job description and compliment their company culture. At the very least, you want to have it come across to the interviewers that you have looked into their company and are interested in what they do. Yes, I know it's stupid, but you have to play ball during the interview process.
Also, always have questions handy to ask at the end of the interview! It looks really bad to not ask any questions because it seems like you're not interested in learning more about the position. When I was interviewing I had a list of 20 questions in my Notes app I could ask and just picked out the best ones. Here are some of my favorite questions; you should aim to ask 3-5 questions.
How will I be trained?
What does a typical day on the job look like?
What other roles have successful employees in this position transitioned into?
What grabbed you about my resume?
Can you tell me anything about the team I’ll be working with?
What are some challenges I can expect to face in this role?
What do you like the most about working here?
Do you have an ideal start date in mind?
That's really all the big stuff I can think of. I definitely recommend looking up articles or videos on how to prep for an interview, but also don't overload yourself with information. It's important to come across as natural when you interview, and like I said before it's impossible to know what questions they'll ask beforehand so all you can really do is have some vague ideas about how to answer some of the questions that might be asked.
Good luck, and thank you for your kind words!

Obsessed with her Fenty Gloss Bomb lip gloss.
Is not opposed to a sneaky office romance. *wink wink*

tired!! but had a good weekend.
sore as fuck bc I’m doing a spin challenge where I have to do 15+ classes in March for money and glory but I decided to cancel today to let my body rest. I think I overstretched in yoga and now my hips and back hurt (I’m not even 30 yet 😩). But I think I’m proud of that decision.
Hope y’all are well; I’m at work as always so feel free to stop by whenever ☺️
the casual vibe is wanting to be a wfh feedist power couple where I have the time to cook and bake throughout the day to feed my cute hard working partner while still getting that combined income.

Picture 1: I lost. I can’t resist to have a 30-minute nap during work hours. My body clock is messed up, likely due to my four-year work-from-home arrangement. Adjusting to the office routine is a real challenge after being used to WFH convenience for so long.
Picture 2: Traffic is really bad in the Metro, and I have no choice but to ride the MRT despite my health condition. This Godforsaken country is not PWD-friendly at all.
Picture 3: I enjoy stickers, and when I mentioned this to my RTO friend, she adorned my laptop with them. It's the little things or gestutes, like listening, that make a difference.

Ok but maybe Charles and Carlos having a wfh day together but Charles and Lando’s heats have synced up so charles is all ‘Carlos come fuck me’ and Carlos is like ‘I want to but Lando will be home from uni soon and he will /need me/‘ and Charles like twinkles his feet at Carlos so of course they fuck but also of course Carlos fucks up and knots charles and OF COURSE this is when Michael comes home with Lando in tow who he has picked up from uni on the way and Lando is like (telanovalla screech) UGH and THROWS Michael to the floor and fucks him right in front of charlos’ salad.
Anon I love you
Charles putting it on thick to seduce Carlos, purring, asking nicely, spreading his legs so Carlos can smell his pre-heat slick, until Carlos is like „Ok but a quick one“ and OF COURSE Charles takes that as a challenge and puts his whole entire pussy into making sure Carlos won’t be true to his word. He’s been training his kegels, and tbh, it’s entirely out of Carlos’ control if he knots or not. (Carlos whining „No, fuck, no no no…“ right before his knot expands and he comes so hard he sees stars <3)
Right when it happens, the front door clicks open because Michael and Lando are coming home… Lando is also in pre-heat, grumpy and horny, and just wants his mate to fuck him, but of course, Carlos is…pre-occupied right now. Charles gives Lando an innocent little „Hi Lando“ over Carlos’ shoulder, and Carlos starts apologizing the second he can smell his mate.
Lando is furious, like, stomping on the ground-furious, because he was looking forward to that knot for the whole day and now it’s inside someone else!!!! But you know what, he can do that too!! So he just grabs poor innocent bystander Michael and just pushes him down to the floor (meaning Michael goes very willingly because otherwise Lando would break his wrists trying to push him lol) and proceeds to ride him like a rodeo, not sparing Carlos a single glance.
Max and Daniel coming home ten minutes later to find all four of them completely immobilized, Lando still hissing at Charles.

Building Effective Routines: Habit Stacking Method
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Trying to manage the thousands of tasks you have a day can be very daunting. Talking to many highly effective individuals the common advice I have been given is the importance of building routines. Lately I’ve been feeling very out of wack and stagnant and have been looking for a way to ease this feeling.
I started reading Atomic habits (which is great so far) which put habits in a fresh perspective and might be just what I need to get back on track.
The book covers a method called habit stacking which suggests that you can build routines by stacking new habits off of preexisting ones.
The method follows the basic formula below:
After I [current habit], I will [new habit]
After updating my planner, I will update my budget
Routines to implement
Morning
Benefits
This routine allows me to set the intentions for the day with a clear mind which helps to respond rather than react. I also allowed time to set my personal intentions for the day and checkin with my moods and feelings before I start working. Lastly, I end the routine with prioritizing what I want to focus on so I can hit the ground running when I log on to our IM.
After I wake up, I will get dressed
After I get dressed, I will make a cup of tea
After I make a cup of tea, I will walk around the pond behind my building
After I take a walk, I will put something in my stomach
After I put something in my stomach, I will write in my journal
After I write in my journal, I will prioritize my tasks for the day
Afternoon
Be consistent with afternoon routine
I already got into the habit of having a cup of tea, tidying up my desk and writing in my journal. I decided to add a moment to collect myself just to add extra time to wind down before I start work again. I find that since I wake up anxious and it usually just builds during the day so I like to take my lunch break to destress and collect myself to tackle the second part of my day. I also wanted to build in a component to revisit my priorities to ensure that I am staying on task. (I can’t tell you the amount of times I get off tasks and ended up missing important items)
After I make a cup of tea, I will straighten up my desk
After I straighten up my desk, I will write in my journal
After I write in my journal, I will take a moment to collect myself (max 15)
After I collect myself, I will revisit my priorities for the day
After I revisit my priorities, I will resume working
Evening
Prepare for quality sleep
I wanted to create a routine that allows me to wind down for a relaxing evening and end with a soothing and rejuvenating sleep. WFH has made it a little more challenging to separate work hours and personal hours since I rarely go into the office anymore. I look forward to my nightly showers, my evening tea and reading whatever book I'm into that the moment. The goal was to build a routine that helps me to transaction from work to personal life. (That work life balance we are all preaching about)
After I log off my work computer, I will tidy up my desk
After I tidy up my desk, I will take a shower
After I take a shower, I will eat dinner
After I eat dinner, I make a cup of tea
After I make a cup of tea, I will read
After I read, I will get ready for bed
I will be tracking my progress with building my routine. I know that in the beginning its going to be hard but it will definitely be worth it in the end!

विश्व हीमोफीलिया दिवस : डॉ. पल्लवी रानी | World Hemophilia Day : Dr Pallavi Rani | Dr Alka Nivedan
World Hemophilia Day is a global healthcare event observed on April 17 every year. This worldwide event is organised by the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH). This day tries to create awareness about this condition that can help people have access to diagnosis, treatment and comprehensive care. Hemophilia is an inherited bleeding disorder in which the blood does not clot properly, leading to spontaneous bleeding as well as bleeding following injuries or surgery. This happens due to a lack of or low levels of proteins called clotting factors that help stop bleeding. Those with hemophilia bleed for a longer time after an injury than others.
The theme for World Hemophilia Day 2024 is "Equitable access for all: recognizing all bleeding disorders". The theme focuses on providing treatment worldwide to all people with this inherited bleeding  disorders. It also aims to provide access to care, regardless of the type of bleeding disorder, gender, age or where they live.
On the occasion of world Hemophilia Day 2024, we have Dr Pallavi Rani, Associate Consultant, Transfusion Medicine, Sahara Hospital, Lucknow with us to know more about Hemophilia and also the challenges faced by the people suffering from this disease.

Isang perks ng WFH eh pwedeng manood ng TV series habang nagta-trabaho. Like this week, natapos ko yung RPDR UK Season 5. Akala ko nga si ano yung mananalo, ang galing niya kasi sa roast challenge tapos ilang badges din naman yung nakuha niya. Hehe.

well I’m definitely not ready for break to be over but I do feel better about going back to work than I did last week (no one should be made to work between christmas and new year’s that’s just obscene). I have an easy WFH day tomorrow—just one scheduled meeting and then therapy in the late afternoon—so I can hopefully ease back into being at work and spend most of the day finishing the spring planning I started before the holidays. I also want to finish drafting this job posting so we can workshop it in the leadership team meeting. wednesday is going to be my rough day (six back-to-back meetings on campus including two with a person I find very challenging) and thurs will also be busy but then friday’s easy and after that it’s the weekend again. ok! I’m ready to face it lol
