(I mean, don’t get me wrong, brilliant amazing spectacular showstopping never the same stunning delightful, 3000/10 highly recommend, and the closures on a few plot points certainly work where they ended up, and man oh MAN what an exceptional final episode, but there is absolutely one ENTIRE season of story left to wrap this up exquisitely!!)

Nishijima Hidetoshi and Uchino Seiyou — we are so damn lucky to have these two acting in the BL genre. One GLANCE, one sidelong GLANCE, a little raised eyebrow, a two-twist head shake in recognition of something. Nishijima as Shiro in his reading glasses, communicating either sympathy or murder as Kohinata apologized for the birthday flowers Wataru sent to Shiro. These guys eat rookie actors for okazu.

What Did You Eat Yesterday? has been the must-watch of this early winter season, but also? We as BL fans are getting a damn MASTER CLASS in the kind of acting we could enjoy if this genre were even more mainstream. MORE, MORE OF THESE EXQUISITE PERFORMANCES. I am so glad I gave Cherry Magic a chance I was never sold on TayNew previously I felt they were really awkward around each other when they were PeteKao but that was 5 years ago so I am happy I gave them the benefit of the doubt because they are honestly so great as Karan and Achi

I never considered myself a huge taynew fan but for them to make this kind of comeback after 5 years with a show that we had to wait an entire year for and then for it to be such an A+ adaption is highkey iconic lol. KMA and DBK were fine but this is their best work no doubt. they're slowly climbing the ladder again for me lol. It was really worth the wait 🥺

I don't think I can properly explain just how happy this scene made me

They've been drawing a lot of parallels between s1 and s2, so I was hoping we'd get another scene of these two talking about Ed's struggle with his identity now that Izzy's had some character growth

Now that he almost died, but instead got to live and to feel miserable and be accepted and cared for by the crew as a result

Now that he realized that you can grow into a different person, a person that feels and cares for things, and it not being "a fate worse than death"

He got to live and grow, and now he knows how to accept and care for Ed in the way that he needs
