A bit of a weird ask, so sorry in advance.

What methods/sites would you recommend using for reading Arcs 5-8 of Re:Zero?

I’ve almost finished season 2 of the anime, and I’m pretty sure this has become one of my new favourite anime/works of media in general.

And considering I keep spoiling myself anyway when I look at Re: Zero tumblr blogs, I figured I should just find a way to catch up with the rest of the series.

You seem smart, and have clearly read Arcs 5-8, so I was hoping that you would be able to provide some advice.

hi there!! :D no worries for the ask, its cool to have another rezero fan join in the fandom especially on tumblr (which is a very small, curated circle of a bunch of us trading posts around a campfire HAH) and i hope youve really been enjoying the anime and your stay here so far!! :o this is absolutely one of my favorite media as well (if. if you couldnt tell by the blog pfft) and thanks for the compliments haah i am glad to seem smart.

but yes i gotchu on where to read!! ill be giving you a pretty detailed explanation/guide. (this explanation also goes mainly for english speakers / people who wanna experience rezero in english.) (and of course if any other seasoned fans are seeing this feel free to add on if i miss anything or correct me if needed)

Main Route Stuff:

witchculttranslations is where you can find the translations for the entire main route (which is arcs 1-8). this page is where youll find the main table of contents for each arc and you can find arcs 5-8 there!

note that arc 8, at the time of me writing this ask, is still a work-in-progress and the team of translators in this fandom are always hard at work to translate each chapter. also note that arcs 7-8 are "conjoined arcs" - think of it like arc 7 is part 1 and arc 8 is part 2. so if you happen to get caught up to where rezero is currently at, the rezero subreddit regularly updates chat + update threads whenever new rezero novel content comes out in general. youll find updates on translations or summaries for new chapters there.

there's also distinction between web novel and light novel - web novel are the chapters that tappei releases online, light novel are the official finished versions of the chapters that are released for sale. sometimes there's changes between the web novel and the light novel, but for the most part it's either minor changes to improve on the web novel - sometimes it's major, but for arcs 5-8 iirc there isnt any major changes that you need to worry about.

just note that in the wn translations, all/almost all dialogue is written in script-style. let me show a small excerpt from arc 5 chapter 1:

???: “Good job, Subaru, I suppose.” A small silhouette enters Subaru’s view from above. A loveable girl with long, cream hair and an extravagant outfit—Beatrice. Her fluttering dress looks out of place in the meadow as she presents Subaru with a towel. He accepts it and vigorously towels his head dry. Subaru: “Ah, thanks. Was looking to cool down so this’s perfect.”

so yeah the wn will be formatted like this by the way, just in case you didnt know this yet!! i hope thats not much of a turnoff or anything, but dont worry you get used to it - and the story is still pretty great anyway!!

also dont bother with arcs 1-3 wn. its not so important (and you already know all the major info because youve seen the anime) and also arcs 1-3 wn doesnt have the Best writing. tappei himself had to make extremely major changes for the light novel and the light novel (along with the anime and manga) is the finished and polished result.

and of course the light novel comes with illustrations for each arc. the web novel sometimes includes images as well at the beginning of each chapter, but if youd like to see finished and official illustrations for various scenes throughout arc 5-8 its easy to find them if you search them up online!!

the anime also has a few bits of Important cut content from arcs 3-4 - unfortunately i dont have any resources on hand for this ;-;;; but you can look this up on rezero reddit or online in general since a lot of people have made summaries about this. from what i remember in arc 3 (which is the royal selection/white whale/petelgeuse half of season 1!), the main thing is just the reveal that al has some sort of connection to ram (and rem by extension), some sort of connection to satella possibly, and he is ALSO someone that was isekaied into rezero's fantasy world.

as for arc 4 (which is season 2 of course), the anime got down almost all of the general important info you need to know, but there's a lot of important information in the last parts of arc 4 that the anime didnt include. the anime may include this information (and the al stuff from arc 3) later, but you'll need to know it for arcs 5-8. you can find the witchcultranslations guide for arc 4 here - scroll down and youll find the chapter called Appendix: Advent!! you'll need the info in that chapter for later.

if you want, you can also read the chapters after that - theyre sorted under One Day II and are the official arc 4 interludes that take place before arc 5. i do recommend reading through them, but theyre mainly characterization stuff, character dynamics post-arc 4, everyone trying to recover after arc 4, etc etc. the most important info in there is leadup for arc 5 (all the post-arc 4 aftermath stuff) and also some info/introduction on clind and annerose (who are characters that are briefly shown in the anime for like two seconds). these two do play minor roles in arc 4/beginning of 5, but theyre hinted to be important for later. if youre in a hurry to get to arc 5, totally fine to just skim through it, get basic info on clind and annerose then continue into arc 5 or something. or you can look at their wiki pages - totally cool to enjoy rezero however you wish. it's a LOT of reading dont get me wrong HAH.

as for the manga - this is not required reading or anything, the manga has only done arcs 1-4 atm so it's not really super relevant to you since youre almost done with arc 4 already via the anime!! but of course if you havent done so youre welcome to check it out if youd like, the manga artists are pretty great imo. im just gonna show some art from the manga artists here:

anyway thats it for main route content!! now i gotta explain side content.

Side Content:

you can find witchculttranslations' side story table of contents here, which very neatly shows you Every Single Side Story and is updated regularly every time tappei comes out with new side content. and trust me, tappei makes A Lot of side content. i guarantee you a lot of rezero fans havent read every side story (and i still have a lot of side stories to catch up on myself), so theres absolutely no need to read every single side story!! honestly just read the ones you find interesting + the ones that are required reading! im not sure how much of the side content youve heard about, but ill give you a rundown:

this extremely helpful google spreadsheet here (thats also regularly updated) tells you how important each side story is and where you can find it so you dont have to go on a wild goose chase wondering which ones you need to read for the main story. rezero side stories are on a sliding scale of just silly stuff tappei wrote for fun to this is VERY crucial for the main story. that google spreadsheet should help you out with that - both the spreadsheet and witchculttranslations have links to almost every side story available.

(the spreadsheet also tells you important details and who it's centered around + when each side story is safe to read free of spoilers after a certain point - so it's easy to decide when you wanna read the side stories and WHICH side stories you'd like to read!)

also i guarantee you that if you have a favorite character in rezero that character Probably has a ton of side content theyre featured in - so i recommend just hunting down all their side content and devouring it whole because im sure youll have a fun time with that. a lot of side content also fleshes out a ton of side characters as well in general - people who Looked shallow in the anime ARENT shallow at all, i promise. many people have hidden depths, which is one of the fun parts of rezero!

witchculttranslations and the google spreadsheet also tell you what order you might wanna read in terms of when each one takes place. i recommend following that order for the most part if youd like, but if you wanna binge read side content or something later you can also do that after reading arc 6.

that's how i experienced the side stories myself (i started reading them after finishing up with the arcs 5-6 plot) and in a way, i would say that might just be the easiest way to do it given a lot of the side stories take place during arcs 1-6 or before the events of arcs 1-6. itll make you go "ohhh thats what was happening with these background characters during *insert event here that was focused on in the main story*" or "ohhh thats why These Guys are like this" a lot pfft. so its easier to just get out the most important ones / the ones thatre most interesting to you all in a row after finishing up with arc 6 👍

The Ex Novels:

these are THE MOST IMPORTANT side stories. :o theyll be extremely important for arcs 7-8 especially!! also because these are light novels the dialogue is written in normal narrative format so hooray for that!!

anyway theres five ex novels. i recommend reading these after arc 6 so you got them fresh on the brain for arcs 7-8.

however if you happen to be a crusch camp fan, you can read ex novels 1-3 at any time youd like!! these flesh out characters like crusch, felix, wilhelm, and theresia (some of the wilhelm and theresia content was shown a bit in season 1 of the anime!) so youd probably enjoy these even more if youre a fan of any of them. ex novel four also features felix, julius, and reinhard too, if that interests you! (as a knight fan ex novel 4 was my favorite akdndn and i loved ex 1!!). but yeah in general though read the ex novels in order (from 1 to 5 of course) so you dont spoil yourself for other ex novels, but as i said - you can read 1-3 at any time, and in general its best to read the rest of the ex novels after arc 6.

the ex novels in general mainly focus on important historical events in the rezero world and stuff that happens before arc 1. the ex novels are also our first introduction to the nation and empire of vollachia—this is also the country that priscilla is from (and al also came from there)!! you get introduced to vollachia's whole deal in these novels. youll need this info for later!

anyway witchculttranslations and the google sheet dont have links to them because theyre published + officially translated light novels that are easiest to access by buying them, so harder to get a free pdf of them. however i got you (and your wallet) covered because i got pdfs for all of them right here (if these links dont work let me know!):

ex novel 1 - crusch and felix-centric

ex novel 2 - wilhelm and theresia-centric

ex novel 3 - wilhelm and theresia-centric

ex novel 4 - felix, julius, and reinhard-centric

ex novel 5 - priscilla and al-centric

anyway thats the ex novels in a nutshell!! and of course if you want a physical copy of these books (or any of the rezero light novels in general) in english you can buy these online (sites like amazon has them) or at a bookstore. if you live in the US like i do, barnes and noble has them irl as well. or if you happen to live near a kinokuniya store, they also sell rezero irl. kinokuniya is also specifically for japanese media so i highly recommend giving it a try if you happen to be near one (i got a rezero keychain from there also hah, rezero merch is a little hard to get a hold of sometimes).

rezero light novels are also translated in a few other languages (iirc spanish and polish are some of the other languages its translated in) so if youd like that too you can look into it and buy some!!

The If Routes:

if youre not familiar with these by now, theyre basically "what if"/ alternate universe stories where subaru makes a different and Very Major choice at different points of the main route. theyre not necessarily required reading, but some do have some important lore regarding several of the characters and in general most of them are extremely important AUs for rezero that emphasize all the themes of the story. they also show the Insane butterfly effect of subaru’s decisions.

and if youve gotten this far with the anime already im gonna assume you probably like subaru at least a little bit? :o yeah his character gets fleshed out in Very Interesting ways in these routes. other characters also get changed in various ways due to his decisions!

new ifs are also released typically every year on subaru's birthday - april 1. so with every april 1 the entire fandom plays russian roulette because either the if will be a super silly one or a Very Important one LMAO.

also these ifs tend to be mentioned a lot in fandom bc theyre very beloved and interesting side stories, so i highly recommend choosing which ones you find interesting and just have fun reading them!! you can find them on the spreadsheet, if you want to read them in a more chronological order, or you can find them on the main witchculttranslations website as tabs on the side underneath Re:Zero If Stories. (but ill provide the links to each separate one in this post also.)

all current if routes at the moment take place somewhere in the arcs 1-6 range, so you can look at them either after arc 6, like i said, or in order as you read along with the main route. ill give a quick breakdown of each if just in case!!

Pride If - diverges from arc 1; subaru doesnt call for help when fighting the three thugs in the alleyway. slight spoilers for one part of arc 5 in like One Scene of pride if.

Wrath If - diverges from arc 2; subaru accepts beatrice’s offer to help in the loop where rem dies + subaru tries to run away from the mansion. very minor spoilers for ex novels/arc 7-8 (characters who appear in those arcs appear in wrath if).

Sloth If - diverges from arc 3; subaru gives up and runs away with rem instead of dealing with the arc 3 conflict. very minor spoilers (a character who later appears in arc 8 appears here).

Aganau If - diverges from arc 3; in the loop where rem dies in the cave and subaru carries her back to the mansion, he decides to go down another route away from the mansion instead. years later, he’s now older and still alive after almost everyone else has died. this if is one of the routes in the now discontinued lost in memories mobile game (and this is The Most Important route out of the whole bunch anyway). you can find a playthrough + english translation of it here.

Greed If - diverges from arc 4; subaru accepts echidna’s contract. major spoilers for arc 4 of course. minor spoilers for arc 5+ (small plot beats are mentioned iirc). a bit of important lore for characters like echidna and clind. the first edition of it can be found here - make sure to read this first. this is because this if was also given a longer and polished light novel version of it (it was a special that came with some of the season 2 blueray dvd packages?) and you can find an english translation for the extended + final version under the Blueray Novels and Databooks section of witchculttranslations' side content page.

Gluttony If - diverges from arc 6. major spoilers for arcs 5-6.

Mimigau If - this is just a genderbend au that tappei made that starts from arc 1!! almost nothing is changed besides the characters’ genders, biological sex, names, etc. i sadly dont have a link to this one, but iirc this hasnt been fully translated yet? and it's also very much not that important of an if lore-wise so you're not missing out on much. the genderbent character names are really fun though!

Lust If - this is, supposedly, an if that tappei wrote in one sitting and then decided to delete off of the official rezero wn site. this if is just an april fools joke where subaru gets a harem of various rezero girls. and imo its not Particularly Good, but it was meant to be a joke and tappei just wrote it for no reason so ig the quality makes sense haah. and also sadly that harem includes petra iirc which. yeah. not what id call great.

Vainglory If / School If - basically a canon high school au for all of rezero! not a necessary read at all but it's super silly and fun. and if you like anastasia and/or priscilla they have a lot of Fun Interactions in this one. im not sure if all of this if is english translated yet, but you can find chapter one here.

Other Various Ifs from Lost In Memories - i dont have the links to all of these, but lost in memories has a lot of other more minor aus as well, aganau if is just the most important + the darkest one. the other ifs are more lighthearted and just extra stuff for funsies. other big examples include a julius if (subaru calls for help in arc 1 and julius is the one who comes to help), a reinhard if of sorts (takes place around arcs 1-2, it's a sillier story where reinhard just keeps appearing out of nowhere to help subaru every time he needs help), and also an otto if (arc 1 divergence; subaru gets involved with otto and the two of them decide to start a mayonnaise business).

A Side Note About Rezero Video Games:

ok i know your ask is mainly about how to READ rezero but i figured i might as well explain this really quick just in case!!

there are a bunch of rezero video games and none of them are really Necessary, so dont worry about it. theyre either like - silly alternate universe stuff or theyre a bit more of the serious au variety (like aganau if, as mentioned earlier. i dont know every single rezero video game out there (and i think theres still new ones in the works at the time of me writing this??) and also almost none of them are english translated so its hard to experience them if you dont understand japanese.

the two most important ones (aka the ones with more story in them) are gonna be prophecy of the throne and lost in memories (which i mentioned earlier!). and again, these games are not necessary content - theyre mostly just side content that you can look at/watch/play through for fun and if you just wanna see more of your faves. you can check them out at any time since they dont have any major arc 5-8 spoilers.

Prophecy of the Throne - this is visual novel + a divergence of arc 3 where a new and sixth royal candidate emerges and it looks like emilia is the fake royal candidate here.... so yeah the plot is just. it's like a game of among us. but it's a fun story with a lot of different character interactions (so if you really like the entire cast of rezero youre in luck!!) and features a tiny bit of lore about some powerful groups in the fantasy world. a few of subarus failed loops in this one are also Particularly Brutal. you can watch gameplay of it on youtube or play through it yourself (i know that the game IS on steam too) since it's fully english translated (and all the jp vas and english vas reprised their roles as well).

Lost In Memories - as mentioned earlier, this is a now discontinued mobile game. iirc it was a gacha game? a sort of fighting game? and also it's narrative driven with a bunch of different routes. you can find the wiki for it here - it summarizes a lot of the main story beats. theres no official english translations for this game, but theres a lot of fan translations that you can find on stuff like youtube if youre ever interested in any part of the game. also it has a really fun opening song and animated sequence. nonoc's rezero music is great <3

A Side Note About Rezero Youtube:

theres a lot of summary videos for both main content chapters and side stories on youtube. im not sure how accurate these videos are, but i know that at the very least they can give you a brief rundown on the main points for certain chapters/side stories if thats something youd like to have!

theres also an entire team of people making a fan-run audiobook for arc 5. ive given some of their episodes a listen, and i can confirm that theyre absolutely great. you can find their readings of chapter 1-47 on spotify, and on their youtube channel theyre up to chapter 62. i think theyve also expressed their interest in branching out into other rezero content as well? :o so if thats also something youre interested in you can check them out there!

In Conclusion

anyway, that should be all you need to know - thats a summary of basically all important rezero content from here on out!! i know this is like. Super detailed. so i hope that this was helpful and didnt scare you away or anything hah. and i hope you have fun reading through rezero :o !! you got a lot of content to choose from thats for sure!!

ILW // Here they are! All 7 different end cards you can get in the many many more variations of the niche endings available in the game.

I am beyond honored to have been allowed to leave my own mark in the game like this, and honestly never in a million years expected to actually become involved with the game.

Everyone is fine to use these as phone backgrounds but if you do youre legally required to tell me which one is your favorite.

Putting it under the cut for length, but here's a breakdown of each card;

Starting with the Evil!MC end cards, that are lovingly dubbed Judas' Kiss if you stayed with Matty, or Scorched Earth for MC's solo end.

The images really mostly speaks for themselves; the flaming heart, hand in atrocious hand if you chose to share the power with Matthias, but then when you put it next to the solo end is where it got fun for me. The heart is broken, its just you now, but the glowing eyes are smiling. My first time testing the judas kiss route I did not hestiate for a second to hit "kill him"

Next is the death card

I really liked the idea of (if your mc wasnt a huge dick anyway) that they give you a grave outside the cave, something for people to leave Rowan flowers and gifts. A classic grave didnt quite feel like it fit so I settled on a cairn. It felt very fitting with the Power being a respect for nature and such. I set it to be at night, with moonlight streaming down on the grave to give it a melancholic sort of feeling, with the sun charm sunny gives you strung off it, and then placed flowers at the grave to kinda show that people have come by because they care about Rowan. Meanings for the flowers are below and while not canon, I like to think each of the LI's left behind one of them; red roses from Abel, blue violets from Amalia, sunflowers from Lincoln and the marigolds from Joss, though really they were all chosen more generally.

Onto the blood end card! Which I named New Horizons, and not because of animal crossing. A winding road in the mountains at sunset; the road has been long, it has been hard and now youre choosing to move on. Symbolically what i wanted this card to be is that feeling of leaving everything behind. The sun is setting on your old life as you go to embrace the normal life that Blood MC wants so much. Youre on the top road moving around the bend, not sure where life will take you but that's alright, you have the rest of your life to look forward to figure out where you'll go.

Onto my own canon end; the Mixed end!

Lovingly called "Best of Both Worlds" because mixed rowan is playing that hannah montanna life. More seriously; this card in contrast to the blood end is not about leaving everything behind, but embracing what you are. The card itself is set at dawn to contrast this; soft yellows and pinks, morning dew and fog clinging to the forest floor with a streak of Power playfully dancing among the trees. Its the dawn of a new day, seeing everything in new light after the darkness of the past weeks/years rowan spent trying to understand themselves. It's my personal favorite end even if my mc and Linc gotta do long distance for a while. But to me its about accepting yourself; moving on from the grief of losing your family without alienating yourself from your memories of them and embracing that Power side of yourself without being changed by it. The life you built after being ressurected is your own and no one can take that from you.

Next up my almost canon end, that does live rent free in my mind because I love angst.

Closed gate shadow end, Far, Far away (yes this is a shrek/starwars/nerd refrence); its a fairly straight forward card, thought it does have one of my personal favorite little details. This is the second draft I made of it after this scene from Lincoln's shadow goodbye stuck with me; looking up through the trees at the night sky.

I really wanted to hide an eye shaped constellation in the stars but couldnt make it look good sadly :sob: But my favorite little detail are the fireflies and how some of them are cyan; touched by the power Rowan is now again a part of. Not canon, but I like to think these little cyan fireflies come to sit on the LI's heads next they wander too close to the woods (Fireflies by Owl City starts playing).

Shadow end is just. Its so beautiful really. From sharing your experiences with the wisps, how Rowan's wisp has been changed by their time as a person, how despite their grief they are not sad or unhappy, melancholic yes but this is where you want to be. Its a cosmic love, the joy of having lived, coming inside on a cold winter day to find your home warm and inviting, your family waiting for you to tell them about your day. The card itself is a little whimsical, hopeful despite the closed gate that the power will forever be part of the world, even if its been cut off. And this brings us to the other shadow ending card; the flower

Eternal Bloom, a ghostly hand reaching out to hand this flower over to the world, a final gift, a final goodbye. Maybe a promise of "I'll see you soon" but first and foremost, it is a promise of love.

Thats right babes. Its all about Love. Unfading Love.

symbolically there isnt anything hidden in the card, but thats also in part of it at face value telling you all you need to know; its about love! its a gift, for you, to remember me by. You have not forgotten me, and even changed as I am, I have not forgotten you. Rowan's change in personality after merging shadow was sooooo heart breaking tbh but ITS SO GOOD. You found joy in what you were, but its time to come home, take off your coat, hang it up, take off your shoes.

And it is all about love! All these cards (well, not all of them) were for me made from the heart, trying to keep in line for the different themes each end resolves to give the players something to remember each route by.

To anyone that made it this far, let me know which one is your canon card/which card you like best! And im kissing you on the lips I love rambling about my thoughts and if you got to here then you deserve a reward. So.

HEY SO IM FUCKING ONTO SOMETHING WITH THE SHED AND IM GONNA WRITE A FULL POST ABOUT THE SHED BUT WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE LIKE TO MCFUCKING TELL ME WHY THE SHED THAT WILL’S IN WHEN HE DISAPPEARS HAS A DIFFERENT FUCKING DOOR THAN THE SHED THAT HOPPER GOES INTO LATER IN THE SAME EPISODE?? WOULD ANYONE LIKE TO EXPLAIN THAT??? ITS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DOOR????? LOOK AT THE GAPS ON THE DOOR BEHIND HOPPER.

NOW LOOK AT THE DOOR WILL IS STARING AT AND THE DOOR THAT THEY MAKE US FOCUS ON REPEATEDLY IN THIS SCENE!! NO FUCKING GAPS

AND IT IS *NOT* THAT ITS DARK OUTSIDE IN WILLS SCENE VS LIGHT OUTSIDE IN HOPPER’S- LITERALLY LOOK AT THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE PLANKS!! LOOK DOWN FROM THE HORIZONTAL PLANK DOWN AT THE VERTICAL ONES AND TRY AND TELL ME THAT THE VERTICAL PLANKS IN BOTH THOSE PICTURES ARE THE SAME DISTANCES APART FROM EACHOTHER!! THEYRE NOT!! AND THE WILL SCENE DOOR *DOES* HAVE GAPS WHEN WILL’S OUTSIDE OF IT!! YOU CAN SEE THE LIGHT!!

SO WHY THE FUCK DID THE DOOR CHANGE WHEN WILL GOT INSIDE THE SHED??? WHAT THE FUCK??? SOMETHING IS EXTREMELY FUCKY ABOUT THE NIGHT WILL DISAPPEARED AND WILL’S POV/PERCEPTION SPECIFICALLY AND IT ALSO TIES INTO MY LAUNDRYGATE POST. SOMETHING IS NOT QUITE RIGHT HERE. and they KEPT SHOWING US a closeup of JUST THE DOOR during will’s scene REPEATEDLY and i couldnt figure out why until now. and it is NOT that will is shorter and therefore seeing a lower part of the door without gaps because a.) we see from the OUTSIDE pov when will runs into the shed that there ARE gaps ALL THE WAY down the door and b.) we can use the horizontal board as a marker- look at it in hopper’s screenshot vs in will’s. you can see it in both and so it’s not a matter of will being shorter, those are NOT THE SAME FUCKING DOOR. WHAT THE FUCK!!!

NOTES .

in april 2022 , i drew a fanmade book cover for the danganronpa x reader fic Sleep Awake . in december of 2023 i redesigned my reader for that story for the third time and thought it appropriate to redraw that old cover with their new design . and yesterday , january 13th 2024 , i finished that bitch . View the fruits of my labour .

in my last Notes section i talked about nerfing the lighting . well um . i nerfed it again . i dont know if it was fate or if i just . idk . didnt want to but i axed both original concepts - the yellow overhead light ( mostly) , and the light blue under light - and just Winged the fuck outta it . that ' mostly ' means that the light source is Still overhead but i just took the colour out to make it more neutral .

another thing i brought up were the shelves and how i wanted to add more items to them . I did it this time , but not to the extent that i really wanted to . i'd hoped for more Clutter and ultimately couldnt think of anymore than a few items . SAID ITEMS BEING !!!!

the pills . self explanatory , since they haunted the majority of cases 2 and 3 .

chess pieces . cute little reference to the chess scene ! even if the scene itself didnt feature real chess pieces , the imagery wouldnt work if i didnt use real pieces .

the letter opener . dont need to explain this one . but i Did originally plan to have it in shin's hand ( explaining why that one is balled like that , because there was originally a Thing in there ) but i couldnt figure out how to draw it and make it look Good . i only added it back when i was colouring the trinkets on the shelves and realised that i Forgot to put it back into the drawing .

the joker card in the bottom corner . also shouldnt have to explain this one .

LITTLE DETAILS I THINK YOU SHOULD LOOK AT .

THE HANDS !!!!!!!!! i decided at the very last second to make them vaguely see through . and theyre all a persons ! amami and shinguji are the obvious ones , but the two holding at the top are supposed to be ouma ( on the scarf ) and akamatsu ( on the rope ) . i would have included tojo's as well but i couldnt fit it in the composition without it looking awkward and out of place and i thought there were already enough references to case 3 as is .

and you literally cant even see it but if you look REALLY closely at oumas hand . his skin is a little grey and you can see the veins through the skin . wonder what happened there . Guess we'll never know !

THE BOOKS !! did the same thing as last time with a Little More . purple books are ouma , green are both amami and tojo , blue is both kiibo and chabashira , pink is akamatsu , and red is phys themselves . i know phys's canonical colour association is olive green but consider : shin is red . look at him . hes Red . that ones for me specifically .

with that . i did all of those books by hand . i drew about 9 variations of books and copy pasted them sure but i Shaded and Coloured them all individually . youll never guess how fucking LONG that took . so yeah . no one book has the exact same shading . goodie !

THE JOKER !!! yes i know i talked about it in the previous section but i WILL talk about the card itself . because i unironically am so in love with how that drawing came out . the little guy featured there is my Lies of P oc scaramouche or scaramuccia ( i use them interchangeably ) . hes a silly jester :3 . the depiction on the card is of him in his prime , before . All Of That Happened . story-wise he's a super famous circus performer known as " The One Man Show " because all of his acts are done alone and are absolutely insane . hes very good at what he does which is Why he doesnt have a crew . and the only reason hes so good is because he't not even human , just pretending to be !

additionally , i originally planned for that joker card to be a Real Life Joker . because a little known fun fact about me is that i collect playing card decks ! but i looked and literally NONE of the ones i currently own would have fit the piece . so . yeah . i just ended up drawing darling scaramuccia . heres the full image im so chuffed

i think thats all i got for the drawing itself . i initially started this back in early december but got stuck and picked it back up a couple days ago , so its been marinating for a bit . hope we all like it ! i think its Better than the original . THE SERIOUS STUFF .

its so fucking insane to think that its been almost 2 years . not only have i truly rediscovered my love of reader insert fanfiction after so many years unable to even think about it without feeling a little sick to my stomach , but ive made so many good friends and core memories through this fic . i even got back into writing . literally never thought id write again after my 11th grade english class and my 10th grade creative writing class . and im having FUN with it . wild .

anyways , this one goes out to vee @chihirolovebot for writing one of The Fics of all time , putting up with my insane ramblings about idol these past months ( READ SWINGING RIGHT NEOWWWW ) , and for letting me help design their dnd characters . godspeed .

- and he opened up to you about pretty much all of it prior to asking you out. you’d already confessed your feelings towards him, but with all his baggage, he wanted to be sure you knew what you were getting yourself into

- he cried, you cried, and you ended up embracing each other in an emotional heap

- when you held Spencer’s face and kissed him, he knew that you had stayed, despite everything he’d told you and everything he believed to be wrong with him. you stayed

- you were aware of the horrors of the world, especially the one’s that Spencer’s job helped protect people from, but you arent on the team

- you’re a sweetheart, a kind soul, someone with a smile that lights up a room as soon as you walk in

- to Spencer, you’re like a ray of sunshine. a beaming person, quite literally. he’d never known such a bright person before, the only one to come close would be Penelope

- you are a being of pure joy, and Spencer feels like it is his job - more than that, the very reason he was put on this earth, was to protect you

- so when away on a case following a serial of victims who all resembled you ever so slightly, he couldnt help the fear and anxiety that built within him

- this only got worse when he looked at the crime scene of the victim murdered a few minutes after the team landed, the victim looked more like you than any of the previous ones

- the more Penelope informed the team of the habits and lifestyles of the victims, the more Spencer found himself making mental notes of all the similarities they had with you

- he couldnt just abandon the case and fly home to you, he had to figure out the case, but just having the slightest involvement of you, the mere idea of someone trying to harm his angel...Spencer found the case personally difficult, to say the least

- but he checked in with you regularly, texted every moment he could, made sure to call you every night but never for long because he didnt want you to miss out on sleep because of him

- Spencer didnt tell you that the case was bothering him, but you could tell, and since you didnt want to pester him, you found other ways to get through to him

- during the day, even if you knew he wouldnt see the texts for hours, you’d send him sweet messages cheering him on and making him smile

- anytime Spencer checked his phone, he’d seen an utterly adorable text from you

hey love! making jello cuz I miss you 🥰

- emojis arent Spencer’s vocabulary of choice, but he finds your use of them very endearing

- your messages reassured him more than he could possibly express, but he still couldnt properly relax at any point

- somehow this got worse after the team caught the killer. Spencer knew you were safe without a doubt, though he also knew you were safe from the beginning because he was states away, but you were now safe even from his paranoid thoughts

- let’s not forget that his last proper gf died horribly in front of him lmao so his paranoia is justified bless him

- sitting on the plane home, Spencer is restless, needing to get back to you more than he’d ever needed anything in his life

- he’d texted you to say he was on his way home, so of course you are sitting on the couch all cozy in your pj’s waiting for him

- as soon as you hear the door unlocking, you jump to your feet and bound over to him with the buggest grin on your face

- Spencer feels his entire body relax with the deepest sigh when he sees you

- you practically jump on him, wrapping your arms around his neck and legs around his waist, squealing with excitement, making Spencer laugh for the first time in a week, the kind of laugh that only happens around you

“Spence!! I’ve missed you so much!” You cheer, sounding almost as relieved as he feels.

“I’ve missed you too, so much, there arent even words-“ He feels himself getting choked up, and you’re quick to jump off him

- your hands cup his face, gently forcing him to look at you as you frown at him with concern

“Hey, what’s going on? Talk to me sweetheart.”

- Spencer sniffles, his own hands unable to leave your hips, his thumbs drawing circles on them

“Just...tell me you’re okay, please.”

- he sees the way your heart melts, he can tell just from looking in your eyes

- the most beautiful, soft smile overtakes your face

“Spence, anytime you’re around, ‘okay’ is the most inaccurate term I could possibly use.”

- Spencer chuckles at this

“Forgive me, what’s a more accurate term?”

- you beam, standing on your tiptoes and leaning close to his face, your lips mere centimetres away from his when you whisper your answer

“Perfect.”

@doomed-bythe-narrative some silver propaganda and a proper essay about my favorite guy ever

first of all, I am the one and only submitter of silver and you should just vote for him <33 just for getting in

Second! everything that is going to be below this cut. a brief summary of what this contains; the plot of sonic 06 (i know i know) Silver is so doomed you have to believe me he was manipulated so hard using his ultimate goal against him and his big heart and the only time he is in the plot is because his world in the future is in danger and heavy turmoil and whatever friends hes made in Sonics time he cant even see at will unless something bad is happening and it needs to be fixed!!! No I wont be talking about the comics because i havent read them n i think this game is enough to explain how doomed he is

we are absolutely talking about Sonic 06 because as much as it is the worst game ever it is silvers first appearance! Silver's first scene he mentions finally finding the iblis trigger, which Sonic is ,supposedly, who he is after to kill and destroy iblis in his timeline 200 years in the future, Sonic is obviously not the iblis trigger but Silver is being manipulated into believing such by Meplilis. When Mephilis first met Silver and Blaze he talls them to stop The Burning Flames he must kill The iblis trigger; Sonic. Which then he takes both Blaze and Silver to present time and separates them from one another and Silver is on his own to hunt down Sonic, but when he spots sonic Amy hugs him and mistakes him for Sonic! and they quickly become friends and Amy promises to help Silver find who he is looking for, though when it is revealed to be Sonic she gets upset that hed think Sonic would destroy the future and leaves Silver :(

Later he reunites with Blaze as he asks her if this is right if he should be doing this to save their future and being met with this;

CAN YOU IMAGINE YOUR BEST FRIEND TELLING YOU THAT???? "I'm not really sure if this is okay but we have to try and kill this guy" GUYS YOU ARE 14 PLEASE STOP TAKING THIS MUCH RESPONSIBILITY,,

So obviously Silver is still convinced this is all fine and he is doing the right thing and is still convinced he needs to kill sonic to save the future! He then is told by Mephilis that he needs to head to this location because sonic is there, which he proceeds to almost kill Sonic before he is saved by Shadow. Silver mistakes Shadow for Mephilis and Shadow corrects him before they fight themselves which Shadow just stops time to get the underhand on Silver and then they use chaos control to go 10 years into the past to witness how Mephilis and Iblis was released and get some answers.

As Shadow seals the original Mephilis, Silver finds out how to defeat Iblis!! They have to seal it inside someones soul and make the person a vessel. And also he realizes hes being tricked and manipulated in this whole thing and tada !!! he's a pawn right now. When they get back to the present Silver tells Blaze about what he now knows and about his change of heart, before they set off to try and save Elise. which in short well they see eggmans ship explode and her die so they have to go back into the past to save her and then Sonic gives Silver the chaos emerald to go in the future and save his time. Which he and Blaze both do, though silver is unable to use himself as a vessel as he finds out trying to do so..Which results in Blaze being the ultimate sacrifice sealing herself and Iblis to save silver and their world, this OBVIOUSLY upsets Silver he just lost his best friend someone close to him and light returns to his world as he is stuck there wondering if it was worth it and why it couldnt have been him!!!

This isnt over yet though, nono of course not, Silver is brought back to present time by this warp from Mephilis combining with Iblis to become Solaris, also sonic is dead in Elise's arms and as they are trying to figure out how to stop the world from ending the idea Silver had to defeat Solaris is shot down by Shadow because well our main hero Sonic is dead. Though he is revived with the chaos emeralds and.... kissed by elise and turns into his super sonic form. Super Sonic uses his ability to have Shadow and Silver enter their super states as well which they then use to fight and defeat Solaris by destroying its consciousness, streams of light burst from it and suddenly the world is back to normal and all that is left of it is a tiny flame; the flame of hope which in order to kill it she has to extinguish the flame but also this means Solaris would never exist. Though she has to in order for the world to be saved.

SO TAKE ALLLL OF THAT AND THROW IT IN THE TRASH CAUSE THE GAME ENDS WITH THE PLOT DIDNT HAPPEN BECAUSE SOLARIS WAS DEFEATED. NO ONE REMEMBERS THIS, THE BONDING AND DYNAMICS?? GONE. HOW FUCKED UP IS THAT???? Imagine the game you are introduced and you have all of this cool stuff and oh no you lost your best friend but now you dont remeber your NEW FRIENDS OR LOSING YOUR BEST FRIEND BECAUSE YOU DONT GET TO MEET HER??? Silver loses a lot through this, he doesnt even get the little sympathy of remembering Blaze, their dynamic is destroyed along with the other bonds he had formed and he was dragged into this because his world was in shambles and he wanted people to be happy and now a good part of his memories are gone!!!!!

He only gets to appear when his world is in trouble and he has work to do he only has to fix things and he is almost by himself in this because well he and blaze are the only ones coming back in time to fix whatever is wrong to make the future okay and it just repeats over and over and over there is no end!!! He is doomed to have no happy ending otherwise he wouldnt be there!!!! They wouldn't have him show up because well he cant time travel at will and he cant just drop on by whenever he feels like it because the universe and the narrative said no!!! your world has to be FUCKED!!!! or else you can just get comfy there and chill out because you arent going anywhere <3

at the top of the document i have 'troubles always gunna find you baby / but so am i' from western nights by ethel cain because literally. thats them

heres a bunch of random sentences that got cut because i never built the scenes to go around them:

Sirius, in charge of paying literally one bill, realised he forgot when the kitchen light went out. Lily told him not to open the fridge and they ate bread for dinner, sat on the kitchen floor with candles on. She would have taken a picture, only her phone had run out of battery three hours ago and she couldn’t open her laptop without seeing the thesis document and feeling sick.

"James sent you a pie but I ate it" Sirius said, holding the pie box and not even looking guilty.

The masters she was meant to do in two years she was now going to do in three, sat on the phone with uni administrators trying to explain how her brain felt laden with cement, unusable actually, and she needed the time to figure out how to be a person again. Sirius, mysteriously, would always appear with a biscuit packet at the end of these conversations, and, after a particularly horrible one, a bottle of tequila he’d had delivered, and she chewed him out for spying but not really.

They pulled the tattoo gun out out over the next few months, mostly keeping to his back and arms, easily coverable. His visa case number. A crudely drawn square. ‘Jimmy’ in a heart with a cross through it. They got really drunk once and Lily almost wrote ‘sense and senseabitch’ but they couldn’t figure out how to spell it (senseabitch or senseabitchity).

Something James had said to him once, after doing something insane to impress lily in school: I heard her voice, what was I supposed to do?

Sirius has spent his life being distracting. It is, in fact, maybe the only thing he is good at.

heres sirius getting a haircut. i have no idea why i didnt put this in i think i forgot:

“It needs more off the top.”

“You just said that.”

“It still needs it.”

“How can you even see the top?” Sirius accused.

“It looks weird–“

“It’s gunna– Lily!–“

Lily had taken a large chunk of his hair and was carefully cutting against the comb, “he’s right, there’s too much at the top.”

“Oh my god–“

“It was making you look like a poodle.” James added.

“You’re mixing your metaphors.” Sirius said, shortly, “Before you said I looked like I’d been lost at sea for ten years.”

“Okay Lily, you looked like both.”

“I looked like a poodle at sea?”

“He’s mixing his similes, not metaphors.” Lily corrected, absently.

“Are you done?” Sirius asked.

“No.”

“Remus said you were looking slightly caveman the other day.” James added.

“You’re loving this, aren’t you?”

“Honestly,” James grinned, “Massively so, yeah.”

Lily stepped back, squinting. “Okay, I think the left side is quite a lot shorter than the right.”

“Brilliant, cheers Evans.”

“Let me see” James said, craning his neck on facetime, “I need screenshots for the group chat.”

“Christ.”

here's a scene i wrote ages ago and cut because i couldnt think of a better joke for the last bit, even though parts of it are okay:

Sirius was having a cigarette for breakfast when Lily walked in and sat at his desk and said “I think we need to spice things up”

“In what sense?”

“In our relationship.”

Sirius, overwhelmed with joke opportunities, genuinely couldn’t pick one and missed the window. “Okay,” Lily got up, clearly reading his expression, “I want to start this again.”

“No, wait–“

“No, I’m not giving you a chance–“ she said, leaving. She then immediately walked back in. “I think we should–“

“Spice things up in what sense?”

“We started this conversation again.”

“I didn’t,” Sirius said, “Are you finally propositioning me? Because I’m afraid you couldn’t afford me.”

“I was literally just going to suggest we go a day without talking so we would actually have stuff to catch up on the next day, but now I don’t think one day not speaking is enough.”

“Oh,” Sirius feigned disappointment, “My ideas were way kinkier than that.”.

“You just said I couldn’t afford you.”

“I’ll give you a discount.”

“Hard pass.”

“Snob.”

Lily stood up, “This entire conversation has been pointless, I’ll see you at dinner.”

“I can’t believe you just came into my room to tell me you didn’t want to speak to me anymore.”

“AndI turned down your prostitution offer.”

“You are a shit mate. James would’ve taken me up on it.”

“Yeah, well, he’s still got some start-up money.” Lily called, rounding the door.

also this:

They have a huge fight about whose turn it is to vacuum, full yelling, Sirius banging kitchen cabinets, Lily’s voice going hoarse. She goes in her room and tries to call James but the line is busy, which probably means Sirius is talking to him. This is so annoying that Lily goes and bangs on his door and tells him to hang up, Sirius yells back that he’s not even on the phone with him, which Lily immediately outs as a lie when she barges in the room. Sirius continues to lie loudly that it isn’t him and James puts on a high voice for ten minutes, fabricating an elaborate backstory until it’s just all of them –Lily standing, Sirius spread on his bed, James’ voice –talking shit for an hour until Remus comes looking, and then he joins in. That’s the day.

heres this random exchange:

"I wouldn’t mind going to jail"

"What if Remus wasn’t around to bail you out" Lily countered

"That would never happen." Sirius said, eating a donut for some reason.

they were going to have a big fight. it was actually one of the first things i wrote for it, and its not bad, but i couldnt have remus appendix/lilys thesis crisis/sirius depression stuff AND this. too angsty. anyway here it is:

Lily let him ring three times, before picking up on the fourth.

“You are fucking shite–“

“It’s your turn for coffee–“

“It’s nine am! You have never been awake at nine am! Fuck off!” She hung up.

The phone rang twice. She picked up fourth ring, third call.

“I said-“

“First of all, nine am is not an unreasonable time to call someone, secondly, when you were banging pots at all hours last week not sleeping and making some typically heinous bullshit I did all the dishes and said nothing because that’s my end of the deal, and for the record not all of us have the luxury of operating on English time one-hundred-fucking-percent of their blessed life, some of us are having to conduct company bullshit in a time-zone for a country they can’t even enter, and have been awake for four hours, and had to get out bed today. Grow up Evans.”

The dial tone was a knife.

Lily made the coffee, and walked into Sirius on mute on zoom, glaring furiously at a notepad. He looked up when she walked in, looking a little guilty and mostly defensive.

“I thought about spitting in this.” She held out the coffee.

His shoulders relaxed a little. If she’d been another person, any other person, she wouldn’t have noticed, “Only thought about?”

“Yeah. Sorry for last week.”

“Sorry for about five minutes ago.”

She shrugged, “Nine a.m. isn’t an unreasonable time.”

“Your cooking isn’t that heinous.”

“Liar.” Lily gave him the coffee, “How is the meeting?”

“Vitally important, so I’ve had them on mute for ten minutes.”

She smiled and hit the unmute button on his laptop. Voices burst in, Remus, half-arguing about system design, two unknown voices trying to shout him down

‘no murders’ she mouthed at him, backing out of the room.

He grinned, winked at her. Turning back to the screen: “Oi, let Lupin finish what he was saying–“

i rewrote that sirius depression scene a hundred times, i can't even tell you. a million versions of it exist and still i dont know if its right

lily was going to say this: “No I don’t” Lily took the bottle out of his hands, “You are not wrong, you’re brilliant. There is no charity, nothing works without you”

or this would happen:

No, no” Lily said, easing the bottle out of his hand,

“I’m weight. You can’t keep trying to bail me out. You can’t fix it”

“Whose trying to fix it? That’s impossible. But you can tell me.”

“Doesn’t do anything.”

“Yes it does,” Lily, stubborn, always, to the blood, “You know it does. Its the only thing that really does work, it’s just hard to remember. You’re not charity, or weight, no one’s bailing you out. We love you. I love you. And if that’s bailing you out then fine, that’s for free forever.”

alternately this would happen: Sirius wasn’t there for any reason other than he was bored at the bar and James was in the business of throwing lifeboats to people he loved. And Sirius always needed the lifeboat, the saving, the pulling back. Lily dragged him to every meeting, made sandwiches, wakes him up. Remus bullied him onto every call. Their club was the only one he ever wanted to be in, but that could not be enough forever. Without them he falls into Regulus’ crowd, dead in a tunnel somewhere, speed-racing. Remus hated that. James too. Sirius loved going fast

anyway there were so many. lily was also going to say this at one point but i never built a scene around it:

"Theres nothing more stupid than marrying your high school boyfriend but im going to do that"

all of the lily and sirius stuff at the end is inspired by this one line in my notes: it's weird. i don't remember the bad stuff. you were there.

also lowkey very proud of this title like when i thought of it i was like oh my god

(Pardon if this kinda sucks, it's almost 3am and im on the verge of sleep but it's in my mind)

So yk that scene where Padme gets choked? We all do.

But imagine reader in that position and all the chances leading up to that and the subtle signs and how she beats herself up for not noticing sooner, for not trying to stop it because she was so in love and figured he was just stressed. Anakin's responses became sharp with her, he was always on edge, he was cold, he was wanting to discard of her but at the same time he was fighting the internal battle of "that's my lady, my beautiful wife, soon to be mother to my children, i love her." and "I dont need her to be powerful."

"But there's something about her, long shady eyes, im all about her"

This was what Anakin was saying to himself as you were in the shower, humming softly after a long day trying to wash away the stress of that day as he was picking at his thumbs becoming more and more irritated with himself. He couldnt NOT rule without you, but what if you werent on board with him? What if you'd look down upon him like he felt everyone else was? Or... maybe you also had a dark side? The tattoos he was referring to was (if you have actual ones or if you like to draw on yourself, i personally love both) was when you would trace light patterns into his skin, when ever you laid together, how calm and at home he felt, how he let his guard down a little bit and you noticed and smiled and would kiss his cheek or earlobe before looking at him... but the minute you looked away with a soft smile, it would be like he noticed which would automatically put his guard back up. You could physically feel him tense around you and subtley move back from you. You'd brush it off, maybe it was a chill. Then he'd grab you by the wrist and move your hands off him before leaving out.. doing whatever it was he did when he left abruptly.

Is how'd he feel when he'd come back to you as Darth Vader reminding you in an almost taunting way that even though Anakin may be dead and Darth Vader is what remained, youre still married. That ring never came off, he wasnt doing it so much for love as he was for ownership. He knew that deep down you were still at his every beck and call, that you were still holding onto that chance that you could bring Anakin back. Vader knew you couldnt but he would use your hope to his advantage. There was no escaping him, he knew how to work you, he knew how to get you to fold for him. You were his once before, you'll be his once again.

i have something to say about cg vfx (and why i love the sonic movies) and no this isnt an anti-cgi post. however i do want to explain why people dislike cgi.

im not a vfx artist, im just really autistic about visual effects. general rule of thumb is that, if something looks real, it either IS real, or a big part of it is.

a lot of vfx artists will tell you that the best way to get something in a movie to look real is.... by making it as real as possible. sure, you cant blow up a real bridge for a shot, but you can build a miniature of the bridge, shoot it in slowmotion, and blow it up on the set. it'll look exactly like a real thing (this is how the original star wars was filmed, by the way, but this post isnt about that) so, in general, if the vfx artists are allowed and have the budget to do so, they will go practical because it just. looks. better.

but, there are things you cant do with practical effects. lets use the sonic movies for example and i'll just compare them to something random off the top of my head uhhhhh the mcu:

so say you have a movie where most things have to be acheived through cgi, for example, an entire character. you have a few options:

you try to do as much of the shot practically, using stand-ins, real props, real effects, real lights, real everything except for the cgi, then add whatever you couldnt acheive (or whatever didnt look good) with cgi. this is how the sonic movies were (mostly) made. they look THAT good because in most shots, everything that isnt sonic or tails or knuckles is made practically.

now... with marvel. this is common knowledge, but more often than not, marvel doesnt do this. why hire someone to build props and sets when you can slap a blue/green screen and call it a day? who cares! those nerds will fix it in post! the marvel movies look bad because most of what we're seeing isnt real, it's just carefully made digitally to look real.

but i said this wasnt an anti-cgi post. cgi isnt bad, when its properly used. i think its a fascinating craft and i admire the cgi artists that are capable of bringing scenes to life (take in mind... they have to figure out lighting, physics, dimensions, pretty much everything about a shot if they dont have a reference, mcu cgi artists are essentially animators) cgi is GOOD. when it's used accordingly.

the sonic movies are great because cgi isnt being used instead of practical effects, it's used to help them look better. which is how it SHOULD be used. whatever you cant do practically, whether it be for budget reasons or simply because itd look bad, you do in cgi. and... well i guess also characters who are cartoons. you dont hate cgi, you just hate how its abused in marvel movies.

YESH ive talked for a while. i'll TLDR:

cgi is a wonderful craft, and i have nothing but admiration for cgi artists. it's great when used accordingly, the problem (and what makes people dislike it) is that as of late its not being used accordingly. practical is always better, and cg helps make it even better

Okay, so the first realm of the 16 realms was the oni and the dragon. The dragon had the power to create, and the Oni to destroy. Then a child, the first spinjitzu master I assume, was born and understood balance. The child left the realm to start a new one called Ninjago.

Jay: Your related to the spinjitzu master! Which means your part Oni and Dragon too!

OH SO THATS WHY

okay so i completely forgot all of ninagos backstory so when people started drawing Lloyd with Oni and dragon features I was so confused.

But NOOOW i understand and thats tremendously cool.

Okay, so. Either Wu has more dragon blood, and Garmadon has more Oni blood. Or they both have an equal amount of DNA from either sides but the bite of the great devourer had Garmadons Oni side more prominent.

This must be destroying Lloyds mental state. Like imagine just randomly learning your part dragon and oni after you FINALLY came to terms that your the leader/green ninja.

Mystake: So master Wu had some help—

Ooooo okay so the Oni masks are relics from the first realm.

I forgot how Garmadon vanished again but then I remembered. Hes still in the forbidden realm, or whatever its called from his sacrifice.

I hate that they dont even mention his sacrifice, that he was simply defeated by the love of his son.

Mystake: The masks will be able to bring back your father, but he will not be the same man, there will be no light left in him.

Damn, this is like, traumatizing for Lloyd.

Harumis character is so well made, her subtle interest in Garmadon. Nya telling her to never hold onto anger because you’ll only hurt yourself.

I keep forgetting that Vengestone can ACTUALLY be stable against the ninjas powers. And apparently there seems to be a LOT of it since everytime their locked up its used. Its used by the police force and if Villains have it, then I can assume its at least a product in the black market.

I dont know. vengestone just seems so fascinating to me. I really hope a villain comes along and uses the properties of vengestone to conquer the ninjas powers, leaving them to fight powerless. I think thatd be really cool.

4town playing Poppy Playtime Chapter 2!! (Pt 1)

Hates horror games with a PASSION

Was only convinced to play it after repetitive begging by Tae and T

He hates spiders so Mommy Long Legs was already on his bad side from the START

He thought Poppy was adorable though

"guys, shes helping me :o"

He actually enjoys learning more about the lore rather than the gameplay

He sing-narrates. For sure.

Lots of cursing. Lots of it. He tries to keep it at a minimum especially if he's streaming or else management will be on his ass about it, but ITS TOO SCARY

"SHESRIGHTBEHINDMEOHFUCKOHFUCK"

Keep in mind, his fans clip the fuck out of these streams because they get to hear him scream mommy all the time💀

"MOMMY, I DONT WANT TO PLAY ANYMORE OH MY LORD"

Hes pretty good at the puzzles. It takes him a few minutes to get the gist and he's already on to the next thing

The first minigame messed him up in the head. The sound of the cymbals coming down makes him get the pattern wrong and it starts a chain reaction

"Okok, blue, green, orange..blu-NONONO SHIT"

"J???? PI?????? WHAT ON EARTH IS THIS"

The second minigame wasnt too hard for him actually. He was dead silent the whole way through for this one

The last minigame had him anxious asf. He just hears that disgusting caterpillars legs crawling after him, and he wanted to bang his head on the table every time the lights turned on

The chase scene? No. Absolutely not.

"Its called hide...AND...SEEK!!!!" "uuuh okay?" "One. Two." "OH I NEED TO GO!! I GOTTA GO"

"those noises are DISTURBING"

The furnace thing confused him. He thought his chat was trying to troll him and he actually paused the game to talk about it

"Surely im not supposed to hide in there??? You guys are- ok let me pause this. If i were in this situation guys, the LAST PLACE i would even THINK to hide would be a FURNACE. Where is the logic in this???? Nonono im not hearing you out"

That one last scene where the door is opening slowly had him internally seizing

"Is she- IS SHE GALLOPING!?!?! This door better open or SO HELP ME GOD"

Mommys death scene actually really disturbed him. Not because he felt bad for her, but her screams and the splatter of blood was a tad too gruesome for comfort. He stayed there gaping for a good second

He expected the ending a mile away

He's a pretty stoic gamer (think penguinz0) but things do get to him if theyre scary enough

He's listened to Tae and T rant about it, so hes pretty informed about the context of the game

When he does get jumpscared, its more of a delayed reaction. Hed stare at the screen for a second, put a hand on his chest and mutter "Jesus..."

He didnt trust Poppy at ALL

"Dolls arent supposed to talk, sooooo im calling it, shes evil"

"Bro, i dont need your help, whats crawling through the vents gonna do?? Go away, this aint fnaf, tf"

He hums a lot during gameplay, and it gets louder during scary moments

The first mini game, mans was FOCUSED

He lowered the volume and focused on the patterns

Chat called him a cheater to which he replied "think smarter, not harder"

T walks in on his lives all the time. Its like. He gets a sense the moment he clicks on his cam

"T, get out, im focusing" "I didnt even say anything🕴"

2nd minigame still didnt phase him too bad

The 3rd one though!???!

THE ANXIETY

He couldnt for the life of him stand the sound of the thing following him

He got stuck in the foam pit and he just heard it coming towards him, and he actually stood up and walked away from the monitor every time the lights turned on

All with a straight face😭

He had a hard time figuring out where to go once he got to the end

"Where do i go? Chat where???...chat hes getting closer to me, and I DONT- i dont know where to go, im going to fucking die. Up?? Up where- Ooooooooooh..."

He handled the chase scene well externally. Inside though, he was actually ending it all

The death scene disnt bother him to much, but he still didnt like it

When poppy changes the trains course "SEE? WHATD I TELL YALL? WHAT. DID I. TELL. YALL.

this is only somewhat related to the playlist, but i didnt realize that My Way Of Life was the song that jake was playing in the last scene, and then when you put frontier psychiatrist in there, did yoy know that that song is sampled in there. the That Boy Needs Therapy song. sampling the song that was playing when jake makes his appearance at khonshu's behest, a song that is all in one an admission of defeat, a prayer, and a claim. can i speak to the directors was this on purpose (shaking someone wildly by the shoulders)

your sense of humor shines through the entire thing even from the photo and the GET THE FRIES title reference which im still laughing to myself about it like an idiot and as i finished the playlist i was thinking to myself like. This whole playlist is very much my personal music taste both old and new so I’m so glad other people love it too. Like I’m 20 and I’ve been listening to some of these songs since middle school (and one since elementary school….”awoken” LOL) and some is my more recent music taste

So anyway without further ado, here is some of my personal favorite moments on the playlist, I’ll try to keep it in order, strap in.

MISCELLANEOUS

• Nutcracker suite Arabian dances: im very much a classical lover as you can probably tell by now but this has always been my favorite classical piece. It’s just sooooo “I’m tired and injured and trudging through the desert under the light of the full moon. I’m exhausted but I have to keep going” love itttttt

• Leopard: this song is literally always switching up!! Just like moon knight lol. One moment it’s sad and slow, next moment it’s anxious and fast, and then it’s smooth and chill. Need I say more.

MARC

• Back from the dead: “BLOW, YA TAKIN 2 SHOTS TO YA CHEST”

• Hunter: this one is very special to me cause it’s probably my favorite song of all time at the moment. It’s sort of the same deal with the nutcracker suite where it’s like you just have to keep on marching and do what you can to survive cause there’s not really a home you can go back to. It feels lonely, ghostly, desolate, and steadfast. So marc and so knightly. “I tried to organize freedom- you sussed it out didn’t you? You could smell it so you left me on my own, to complete the mission, now I’m leaving it all behind.” Very him and Khonshu am I right or am I right. HES GOING HUNTING. HES THE HUNTER!

• Pluto: this is a more recent addition, it’s just so visceral and violent. Like Marc! I also specifically added the live version with the strings cause it sounds so much moreee. Unhinged? Enraged? “Excuse me, I just have to explode this body” “I’ll wake up tomorrow brand new, a little tired, but brand new” just like going to bed as maRC AND WAKING UP AS STEVEN CMONNNNNN

• Dirty Harry: mercenary days marc moment

• mercure scene 1, la nuit: same thing as nutcracker suite and hunter. WE GOTTA KEEP MOVING EVEN THO WE’RE SO TIRED

• Off with his head: middle school classic of all time to me. It’s so “ugh. Gotta kill all these people to sate this ancient gods will. Sorry, I promise I don’t want to 😬”

• Awoken: relistening to old mlp fandom songs I used to love when I was little and then realizing one of them fit Marc Spector of all characters actually incredibly well felt like unearthing an ancient cursed relic. I literally still cannot believe it

• All the Will Smith songs: Marc speeds on the highway when he drives. And when he does, he’s blasting this. Also he doesn’t like any other musician besides will smith. He has literally had the exact same music taste since 1997 #comfortmusic

• Get out of my house: MARC IS THE HOUSE.

• All the love: the phone calls. THE PHONE CALLS. Did I mention the phone calls? The sighs too UGH. I’m imagining Marc coming back to that storage locker and listening to all the voicemails Steven had left him thinking he was calling their mom. Also am I crazy thinking the last “good night” sounds EXACTLY like Steven?

• Sandpaper kisses: “your gonna a leave her. You have deceived her. Just a girl, with featherweight curls” Layla 😭

• The moon/ Awake: EVERY. LYRIC. HITS. It fits the relationship between him and Steven amazingly. “When sins of sons to fathers come, too heavy is the weight. THE SPIRIT SPLIT IN TWO” <- when I heard that while looking for songs to add to this playlist my jaw dropped. ITS TOO REAL

STEVEN

• Ok let’s go: the moon/ awake to ok let’s go is the transition from Marc to Steven. It’s basically Steven being like “is this too much to take? That’s ok, I’ll take it from here” like he’s there to put Marc’s pieces back together after everything. It’s stevens introduction bc that’s his purpose after all. He’s picking up where Marc left off

• Diary: Goldfish problem vibes. “Dear diary, What a day it’s been. Dear Diary, it’s been just like a dream” “at night I can’t sleep, I toss and turn” also the guy is British so that’s a plus

• the miku song (I can’t type Japanese) : Steven grant anime opening. He’s running late to work with toast in his mouth

• COUNT THOSE FREAKS: literally episode 2. Mr knight vs that jackal vibes

• Sinking feeling, Only dreaming: I’m gonna lump these 2 together cause they have the same gist. Steven realizing that he isn’t completely alone and those strange occurrences and dreams are much much much more than they seem. His life is a lie! Poor man’s being put through the mental ringer.

• Linger a while: It’s just so british sounding you know what I mean? It’s so Steven nervously plodding along

•Oivomaintnt: steven grant walking simulator

• Wake up ( it’s 1984): “two worlds apart, BUT SO!! CLOSE!!!!!!”

• Is anybody here?: ohhhhohhh so Steven. Everything abt it is so perfect but here’s my fav lyrics “I left my soul exposed to frail hands who hold my fate up in the air.” Aka khonshus spindly witch fingers. “Waking in the afternoon, a captive in a passive tomb, moments turn to long Decembers, stoking fires from dying embers. I try To move a limb, but there's a disconnect within. A devil in the alchemy. A phantom staring back at me.ITS YOUUUUU” disassociation moment. He is quite literally slipping out of consciousness and losing days or even months of time. Also….a phantom….OR A SPECTOR

• Steal away: ok I lied this is the one song that’s based off vibes. It’s just Steven what can I say

• It only takes a moment, somethin stupid, might tell you tonight: HES FALLING IN LOVE FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME 😭😭😭

• Ghost: Steven being like “hey maybe actually not being alone isnt so bad :)” again, a ghost….OR A SPECTOR! Ehhhhhh? ;D

JAKE

• you belong to me: Marc and Steven may be free, but Jake? mmmm not so much :/ wherever they go, whatever they do, he still belongs to Khonshu.

• What you won’t do for love: “I guess you wonder where I’ve been”

• Desalento: I don’t speak Portuguese so I don’t exactly know what this song is about but it’s just so Jake vibes. Esp near the end

• The most cursed hands/ who am I: first part is cool but disregard it. The real reason why I added it is at the very end. “Who am I? Just a gambler, holding aces in the devil's eyes. What is wrong? What's the sin? Where's the answer? Where the hell do I fit in? Or could it be, there's just a little demon lost in the debris? And I, should idly bide my time until a wager releases me” cmonnnn that is so good. Where does jake fit in in all this? Steven and Marc are already a team but Jake is disconnected from them, where does he go in the story? Also the little demon lost in the debris is KHONSHU, they thought they defeated him but heyyyy he’s still there just in secret now. And what can Jake do but follow his orders till he’s released! “It can’t remain unknown” his existence can’t stay hidden forever! Also the vibes at this part are just so suave and Jakey.

• how I could just kill a man: marc and steven are soooo free and don’t have to do shit anymore but guess who’s left to do all the dirty work now? JAKE! And he’s pissed! “When your up on the hill in your big home, I’m out here riskin my dome”

• Vroom Vroom: obligatory

• Tardigrade song: Jake lockley is one tough son of a bitch. He can take pretty much everything you throw at him, since that is literally his purpose. He wakes up after years of hibernation, kicks ass in the most inhospitable conditions imaginable, then goes to sleep again. Just like a tardigrade!

• We fly high: I have this image in my head of Jake rolling up to an avengers meeting and you can hear this from the parking lot blasting in the moon knight mobile before he gets out and slams the door. They’re all looking down at him from the window like “ughhhh who invited that guy” “not me” “me neither” “I think he just invited himself” *door bursts open* “eyyyy fugeddaboutit” It’s like his theme song to me, it’s what plays when he rolls up into frame wearing sunglasses. He’s just balling. Simple as. Steven: ouch! He bit me!😰 Jake: no I didn’t 😎😏

Freebird: and what a perfect way to end the playlist. Wow look you made it way to go, now let’s make our car do flips and donuts in the avengers office parking lot 🥳🙌
