every single day i think about the influence touya would have had on shouto as an older brother.
he has to take him everywhere he goes, so they're always jamming to the same hardcore music in touya's shitty car. shouto, obviously, develops a taste for the same bands, same songs. shouto is also in the ride-along to buy cigarettes and beer at midnight, and touya threatens his whole entire life if he tells rei, but shouto would never because he likes going too much.
shouto 100% would attempt to kick the ass of anyone that talked shit to his brother. little string bean, doesn't matter, this little boy is throwing HANDS for touya, and touya very much has the attitude of "no one can fuck with my little brother but me". whenever shouto gets in trouble for doing something he shouldn't be doing, touya is always taking the fall for him, no questions asked. shouto lies for touya like it's second nature.
shouto wants an earring because of touya, and touya probably GIVES the piercing to him, which makes enji blow a gasket. touya learns to play the drums and then shouto wants to, too — though he ends up being better than touya and touya promptly quits after that. touya teaches him to drive. shouto gets drunk for the first time with touya BECAUSE touya wants to be there to take care of him. they hate each other, they get into fist fights all the time, rolling around the house as fuyumi screams at both of them. they're best friends. they understand each other more than anyone else ever could.

the thing is while literati and rogan shippers may be divided on rory's situation in s6 and the way both boys responded to it, i see the merit of both sides (although i could be biased since i very obviously ship both). and in the context of this episode specifically, 6x08 when looking at writing and characterization, i'm a big fan of how things play out.
because jess really does know rory as he claims to even if he obviously has made terrible choices with her in the past and hurt her badly (and let's keep in mind that while his actions were horrible and inexcusable, he was an immature TEEN at the time of their relationship and has clearly learned from his mistakes and matured a lot since then, to the point where rory is actually happy to see him and reconnect in a platonic capacity). because they are friends and he cares about her, because they have the type of relationship where they cheer for the other's successes, she supports the actions that he's taken to make something better for his life. and he chooses to support rory too, calling her out on her stagnant life that she's living at the moment and encouraging her to reclaim what she worked so hard for. he knows that she's lost and dejected, not following her passions/goals, not taking her ambitions seriously. and yes, i do agree that it's a bit unfair for him to have approached the situation that way and claimed to know what's best for her/yell at her especially as he hasn't had consistent presence in her life recently, but it does lead rory to a pivotal breakthrough and helps her turn things around for herself and pursue what she feels is the correct path, at last momentarily.
but that's not where the story ends either. when she confronts logan about her recent lifestyle, how it compares to his opportunities/privilege and the struggles he faces when dealing with that, and how they spend their time together drinking and partying (all of which are great themes to explore on their own), they get into what is a very important fight for them. logan reminds her that she has as much privilege and opportunity as him, that she's the one making the choices she does, and that he respects and supports those choices. he also heatedly reminds her that she has as much power to reclaim what she's lost, that she can choose to live whichever life she wants and he isn't preventing her from doing that. instead, he's simply being supportive and respecting her decisions, not coercing or being a "bad influence" on her.
while both men were making poor decisions this episode (logan being an excessive drunk and unnecessarily antagonizing jess in an immature display of jealousy, jess presuming to know what is best for rory), they were also really important to not only enriching rory's storyline but understanding all three of them as characters, imo. both sides of the rogan versus literati fandoms can argue against the other man's behavior this episode (and both sides would make a convincing point) but it's meaningless to debate who is the better love interest because that's not the point here, at least in the context of this episode and how it drives the plot. the point is that both relationship dynamics and both characters, romance drama aside, were integral to rory realizing what she wanted and proactively making decisions to drive her own success. and in the end, it was rory who regained agency, rory who took charge of her life, which neither love interests deserve credit for. however, i do appreciate that they both did play their part in helping her get there.

"Rose Quartz was a bad mother" is a really baffling interpretation of Steven Universe, because Rose never got to be a mother in the first place.
Even if you take the stance that Rose was a bad person (which I vehemently disagree with, but you do you I guess), it's still not possible for her to have been a "bad mom" or even a "good mom." We literally have no idea what kind of mother she would have been to Steven, because she died.
She left some messy stuff behind, sure, but who the hell doesn't leave messy stuff behind when they die? A traumatized victim of generational trauma and abuse dying in childbirth doesn't equal "bad mother." Like, what?
And on top of that, if I dropped dead tomorrow and my shitty abusive family members swarmed around my kid, that's...not my fault? I've done everything I can in life to keep my kid away from the shitty abusive parts of our family. I cut them out as thoroughly as I possibly can. I can't control anything else. If they show up after I die to harass my kiddo, that's not my doing. Because I would in fact be dead.
I think way too many people try to make Rose responsible for literally every bad action that other people took, which is asinine both because it takes agency and impact away from every other character, but also because, like. She's not real. She is fictional. You don't have to hold her accountable for crimes, and that was never the point of the story in the first place. She served a narrative purpose, which was to tell a story about generational trauma. I'm less interested in "bad person vs good person" analysis and much more interested in "was this an effective way to tell a story about a very messy victim of cyclical abuse, and how hard it is to break the cycle without there being repercussions. Sometimes the cycle doesn't break cleanly."
I think it was, personally, especially considering the huge amounts of censorship heaped upon the show. I'd love to take a peek into the universe where they got to fully flesh out the story they originally intended, instead of getting cut off at the knees by homophobic studio heads.

[ Entry #9 ] Various Vox headcanons
A/N I've got a post coming up about what I think it'd be like to actually date him coming up, (alongside Snap part 2 ofc, I'm just taking my time w it to try keep things accurate) so here's some points which will lead into that next post + other misc stuff I've been thinking abt.
Cw: SFW above cut, NSFW below cut - 18+ MDNI, reference to manipulative behaviours
Tumblr media
SFW
- While drunk, he's both very affectionate and cute but also gets really sad and clingy. If you stop paying attention to him for even a second while he's gonna start bawling like a giant baby. It's also the only time he's truly 100% honest with how he feels about you.
Basically; the mask falls right off, so he doesn't like to get drunk around people. He will deny all that's been said or done during this.
- He doesn't need to sleep but likes to - when he sleeps tho he doesn't really sleep in the traditional sense but instead goes into a preset 'sleep mode' for a specific set of time. He can also be rebooted remotely if you need him up before he's programmed to wake up again. (I discuss more abt this type stuff in entry #4)
- Follow up point: when he dreams while in sleep mode, his dreams play on his screen. He often dreams about becoming essentially king of hell and having people worship him like a god.
If you bring this up, he will be embarrassed as all fucking hell and will also deny it vehemently.
- He ends up getting water damage fairly often because he really loves swimming and aquatic environments ironically.
He's of course got ways of waterproofing himself properly, but usually he will do it badly or just not give a fuck about it and go swimming impulsively.
Will complain like a bitch after getting water damaged as well, holy shit. Blames everything but himself about it.
- Follow up: if you ever take this man to an aquarium on a date, he's going to be so fucking excited about everything he's seeing.
He will be trying to contain himself, but he may end up letting the mask of calmness slip at points and just start randomly talking a million miles an hour about whatever shark, fish, sea creature, etc. He's seeing. He loves sharks so much.
- Somewhat follow-up point: If you 1. don't tell him to shut up about shit when he starts getting excited and talking really fast and loudly AND 2. Actually listen?
He's gonna be so goddamn happy. Holy shit.
He's used to being told to shut up when he starts talking about ideas he has for a new VoxTek project, so if you give him feedback and your thoughts on it once he's done info dumping? He's gonna start internally screaming because he's so happy about it.
- Follow up follow-up: He doesn't take criticism well though. In fact, he's a baby. If you're in a relationship and you've gotten him out of his bs a bit with his ego being fragile as shit about everything, it'll be better but still pretty bad.
He needs reassurance that just because you disagree or think (y) would be a better alternative than what's his (x), that you still think it's a good idea, lmao.
- If you wear blue light glasses he can't hypnotise you, and he absolutely fucking hates it. In an argument or confronting him, you just put on bluelight glasses and cross your arms, and he's so annoyed about it.
You'd need to start wearing blue light glasses, because this asshole will be trying to hypnotise you into forgetting things if you see something of him that he deems 'undesirable' about himself for you to see.
- He's such a colossal attention whore that the second you are doing something thats not to do with him or talking to someone who isn't him, he's gonna be pissy asf about it.
Think glaring at you while pouting and loudly tapping his foot. He's such a little shit 💀
- He's so intensely touch starved it's not even funny. If you're doing anything his hands are gonna be on your hip, your back or your shoulders.
He desperately wants to be physically close to you but he also will never normally instigate cuddle sessions because he thinks it's embarrassing that he wants them so badly. If you instigate them, he will absolutely love it.
Just not in public, though. If you try to be super affectionate or maybe even affectionate with him at all publicly, he'll be pushing you away telling you to wait until later.
And will get mad if you try get a bit defensive about it with him.
NSFW
- He has barely any self-control and ends up getting unintentionally excited really easily - even in situations where he really shouldn't be. If you as his partner are cuddling him, sitting in his lap, touching his neck, or god forbid the ports, he's gonna get hard so quickly it's not even funny.
Him being touch starved is really a double-edged sword because he wants to be near you, but also he gets unintentionally way too physically excited about it and ends up embarrassed asf most of the time.
- Kinda follow up point: I feel as if he's extremely repressed sexually in general. He works extremely long hours to maintain his control over everything single day, and considering his tendency to start zapping things when he gets closer to finishing / overwhelmed, he'd likely not be taking any chances at all with that.
So when he gets physically near his partner alone (and also not even alone), his body just kinda goes 'time to make up for lost time'. 💀
- Most sensitive erogenous zones on him (outside of his dick obviously) are his neck and ports. I'm not sure if him having ports for nipples is canon or not, but if it still is, those are the more sensitive ones. The ones on the back of his head are still an absolute killer, though.
If you kiss his neck even softly, he'll be tensing up, and if you're kissing him or cuddling him and gently brush up against the ports on the back of his head, or your chest brushes against his and brings him nipple stimulation - he's gonna be getting a boner as quick as it gets.
- He doesn't really care too much about his partner's height, but I get the vibe that he'd have a size difference thing and would love a partner who's smaller than him (but not tiny still)
It would trip his ego so much to be able to physically look down on people in general, but with a partner? He'd be going mildly insane about it but in a different way.
Wear his clothes, and they're massive on you? He's gonna be turned on as absolute hell by that. Especially if it's one of his button ups and its neckline is plunging and giving him an eyeful of your chest.
He can easily pick you up and pull you against him in whatever way? Goes absolutely nuts about it.
Tumblr media
I love it when I try to go,'this will only be short', then my brainrot takes hold, and my ideas just keep flowing. 💀

The izcourse continues...
When did people stop saying 'in my opinion'? because lord above would that simple phrase have stopped me getting so mad this morning.
I have no interest in reblogging the posts and starting drama, but some izzy takes I've seen this morning have made me want to chew through rawhide, and here's my opinion on why these 'factual statements' are wrong.
Izzy fans shouldn't be upset by his death because he's not a main character, he is a plot device to further the story of the main characters.
I'm a professional writer btw and to me a 'plot device' character is the barista who's in one scene. To me, if a named character with backstory and complicated interpersonal history with one or more main characters is just 'a plot device' - that's a waste of a character and shitty writing. I don't think ofmd is shittily written so this annoys me on two levels - disrespecting the show, and the character. Because in my view if Izzy is 'just a plot device' that's someone insulting the show.
2. Izzy was an antagonist and antagonists can only ever be redeemed and then die, or become a villain.
Not even true of ofmd and certainly not of media in general, yet stated as fact with nothing to back it up. This is NOT an opinion btw - you only have to look at Zheng and Jackie to know it's not true within the context of the show.
Jackie dobs Stede in to the British just as much as Izzy does, and she threatens them with vengeance again over the indigo - does she die? Does she become a villain? No, she's a guest at the lupete wedding for fuck sake.
Zheng insults Ed and attempts to kill Stede, two things Izzy was vilified for, gosh it was so sad when she died in the finale wasn't it? Oh no wait, she became their ally and sailed away on The Revenge!
'Have to die or become villains' is just...incomprehensible to me. The only way I can see it working in someone's head is if they think character like Jackie and Zheng did nothing wrong, when Izzy was evil, for doing the same things - albeit for more personally passionate reasons.
3. Izzy telling Ed that the ship's atmosphere was poison because of 'his feelings for Stede' was Izzy 'blaming Ed's actions on love again, just like he did in s1.e10 because Izzy is just one-note evil and only ever has that one thing to say.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To me, s1 Izzy is absolutely thrilled to have managed to bait Ed to anger, to have brought this out of him. He thinks he knows what he's just unleashed, but as we soon discover, he has no idea - because Ed had never cut off one of his extremities before. He poked the bear, but the bear was actually a fucking kraken.
s2 Izzy, in my opinion, looking at his expression above, is sad, resigned, he is saying Stede's name (which it's already established even obliquely mentioning him is a BAD IDEA with the whole 'talk it through' thing, after which Izzy sounds panicked) but he is specifically trying to make Ed see that he is not himself - that what he is doing to the crew is toxic.
Just because he's essentially saying 'This isn't you' in both scenes, doesn't mean the tone or the meaning of those scenes is the same. One scene ends with Izzy gleeful, victorious. One ends with him screaming on the deck, bleeding out.
I am happy for people to have these opinions, and for me to vehemently disagree with them, but they ARE opinions. And Izzy 'fans' or you know, people who see the show differently to you, are not stupid, racist, immature or whatever else you want to call us.
We just have a different opinion. If you're going to share your opinion, great! But it's still just your opinion.

How Much Ace Loved Luffy (and so does Sabo, but this is mostly about Ace)
I have been suffering from the worst One Piece brainrot. Seriously, I cannot think about anything else without bring it back to One Piece, which is particularly unfortunate this month when my schedule is completely nuts.
(A few days ago, I was reading a scientific paper and I saw the word "doctrine" and went "omg Dr. Kureha??? Why is this paper mentioning One Piece?"—it's that bad.)
The thing I have been thinking about the most is Luffy's relationship with his brothers.
First off, I would like to say that I vehemently disagree with the take that Sabo is just Ace 2.0. While the relay of their stories can make them feel that way on an emotional level, exacerbated by Sabo succeeding Ace with the flame-flame fruit powers, I think Oda has done an excellent job showing that they are very distinct not only in personality, but in their relationships with Luffy.
Ace was always the first brother.
He's the one who knows Garp just as well as Luffy. He's the one introduced to Luffy through Garp. He's the one Luffy initially attaches himself to. He's the one who was there all through Luffy's childhood and adolescence, who can do a handstand on Luffy's head with no explanation, knowing that Luffy can hold him and knowing that Luffy will understand exactly what he is telling Luffy to do.
Ace was also always the most self-deprecating brother. When he was arrested, his first and only request was that nobody tell Luffy about it. When talking to Jinbei, he tells him that he would have worried Luffy couldn't live without him, but having seen his crew, he knows that Luffy will be okay.
When Luffy hears that Ace is in trouble, his first reaction is that Ace has his own adventures, and that Ace will be angry if he drops everything to chase after Ace. But when he is told that Ace is in Impel Down and his execution day is already scheduled, he drops everything, including reuniting with his crew, to sneak into the highest security prison in the world to try to break out his brother.
Meanwhile, Sabo is the kind brother.
If Ace was aware of how codependent Luffy was with him and tried to utilize tough love to push Luffy away, he's also always been the most inclined to bicker and trade mockery and insults with Luffy. Meanwhile, Sabo has always been more inclined to be concerned for Luffy, and use positive reinforcement to help Luffy improve. When Ace and Luffy were at odds, Sabo was often the mediator.
Sabo and Ace have known each other longer than either of them has known Luffy, but their relationship as brothers exists because of Luffy. As Sabo pointed out in his farewell letter to Ace, they never even defined what kind of brother they were (a thing that has more significance in Japanese, where big brother/younger brother are terms far more common than the neutral "kyoudai", which translates to elder-brother-younger-brother, and can often denote a non-blood relationship).
Luffy is their crybaby weakling baby brother, and they are both willing to throw everything aside if they are worried that Luffy might be in trouble. Not once in the story have Ace or Sabo showed up without stepping in to rescue Luffy somehow.
But today, the rescue that sticks in my brain is the most painful one of all: the death of Portgas D. Ace.
In a world full of people who exposit about the honor and dignity of a death with a back unmarked by scars, Ace dies with his back to Akainu, whose fist goes right through the tattoo proclaiming Ace's loyalty to Whitebeard.
Whitebeard's significance in Ace's life was huge.
With Ace's anger issues rooted in a childhood of being told he should never have existed, his arc is about learning that yes, he deserved to exist—he deserved to live.
And while Luffy's love, Luffy declaring how much he needed Ace, provided something of a salvation, some kind of purpose, it was not enough. Because Ace was trying to teach Luffy to be self-sufficient—was trying to help him to grow up into a man who wouldn't need Ace. Even at the very end, as he thanks Luffy for loving him, he describes himself with self-deprecation.
Being needed wasn't enough. Ace needed Whitebeard, because he needed a parent figure whom he could believe loved him, for whom he was enough. His relationship with Dadan was too utilitarian: he brought her food, and she let him stick around. His relationship with Garp was too marked with the conflict born of Garp's stated wish for Ace and Luffy to become marines. Whitebeard was the first person to embrace Ace exactly as he was and call him his son, and never expect him to be or do anything else.
Ace is genuinely surprised at the war that is waged to save his life.
Not only does he not expect Luffy to show up, he doesn't even expect Whitebeard to show up.
Regarding Whitebeard, Ace sees his actions as his own failure. He did not listen when Whitebeard told him to let Blackbeard go. His own failure to heed his father's cautionary words should not be cause for his father to wage war on the marine headquarters, he thinks.
But when Luffy turns up, Ace shouts at him—exactly as Luffy had predicted. He demands to know what Luffy thinks he's doing, weakling that he is. That Ace has his own adventures and his own pirate crew, and he doesn't need Luffy to come too.
"I'm your little brother," says Luffy in response, and I always start tearing up at that line, in manga or anime.
As far as Luffy is concerned, losing Ace is not an option.
And that one line is all it takes to make Ace back off. To remember that yes—Luffy is still his little brother, though they each have their own crews now.
The Marineford War is so full of moments where Luffy shows himself to be capable of so much more than anybody expected was possible.
But of course we all know how it ends. Luffy is the one to free Ace, but he's also the one who doesn't notice how vulnerable he is to the charging Akainu.
And Ace takes the blow intended for Luffy with his back—right in the tattoo declaring his alliance to Whitebeard.
I can't stop thinking about the significance of this.
All Ace had ever been searching for—family, belonging, purpose, acknowledgement that he was wanted—he got from Whitebeard, who was his parent in a way that nobody ever was, breaking through his insecurities about his parentage in a way that surely only got through to Ace because Whitebeard is someone who personally knew Roger. In a world without Luffy, Whitebeard and his crew would have been Ace's salvation.
But we don't live in that world. We don't know if Ace would have made it long enough to join Whitebeard in a world without Luffy.
What Ace tells us in the way that he shielded Luffy from Akainu was that Luffy was worth more to him than everything he got from Whitebeard and everyone on that crew. That he loved Luffy above and beyond all others.
And he thanked Luffy (and Whitebeard and his crew) for loving him.
I'm sure there has been ample discourse on the significance of these things. I'm pretty sure I've read, if not participated in it. But having circled back here recently, I feel like I'm discovering the significance all anew.
Ace said thank you for loving me and not I love you because he saw more value in being loved than his own love. Surely it would have been more comforting to Luffy to hear that he was loved—but Ace is caught up in the idea that he is demonspawn, not worth existing, much less being loved.
With how much he talks about Luffy to everyone he meets, surely in a world where he did not have cause to question his existence, where he did not grow up knowing that the world wished him dead, he would have been happy to just exist with the brothers he loved. He would not have felt he needed to prove that he deserved to exist.
Meanwhile, though Luffy idealizes pirates from an earlier point in the story, their backstory shows us that Luffy's desire to grow stronger originates in learning how Sabo "died". And Ace supports this narrative that Luffy ought to grow stronger, more self-sufficient.
At Luffy's core is simply love: a desire to hold his loved ones close, to be strong enough to never lose them again.
But he lost Ace anyway.
And Ace just wanted Luffy to be safe—to go on without him. His only regret, he said, was that he wouldn't be around to see the end of Luffy's dream.
Ace, at his core, just wanted to be loved. And he had that, but was not able to accept it, to believe that he deserved it, until the very end.
And isn't that just heartbreaking?
I believe that it was Ace's spirit, realizing Sabo was still alive, who knocked the memory back into him, screaming at him what the hell has he been doing, go protect and support their baby brother.
I believe Ace still lives on in Luffy, who will never stop loving the brother who all but raised him.
But I need to cry about it anyway. Again.

Sorry if this is an irritating ask or anything, but could you please explain to me what people find wrong about the term transandrophobia? As far as I’m aware it’s literally just a word to describe trans men’s oppression. I’m not against the idea that it might have something wrong with it (as a transmasc person), but through all this fighting I’ve never once seen someone clearly explain what the problem is.
I’ve seen people claim that transmascs keep throwing transfems under the bus, but the only thing I’ve ever seen is actually the OPPOSITE way around, and only when I go searching for it (but that might just be because I make an effort to keep my dash free of that kind of thing) again I’m not saying it doesn’t happen, I just… don’t quite understand all this.
Sorry abt this rambly ask, I’m just tired and frustrated and I HATE that we’ve been pitted against each other
I will do by best to genuinely present and respond to the main arguments I have heard made against using the term. Apologies in advance for the length.
The most common in my experience is that “androphobia/misandry doesn’t exist,” or “men aren’t oppressed for being men,” based on the terms transandrophobia and its origin, transmisandry. It feels like a non-sequitur to me, completely bypassing the actual meaning of the term. Some people do include androphobia or misandry in their definition of the term, but many more don’t and just use it to describe the intersection of transphobia and misogyny in the lives of transmascs or even just “transphobia against transmascs.” I personally do believe androphobia exists in a literal sense—the fear of men that has serious consequences—but not in the way they mean it. They are attempting to paint us as MRAs, but nobody who gets any eyes on them using the term has ever argued that women oppress men as a class. MRAs are antifeminist, and the transandrophobia conversation is very much a feminist one.
The simplest is just that transmascs just “don’t need a word” to talk about their oppression. Our experiences are called “just transphobia” or “just misogyny” based on whatever they think applies most in the moment. Our theorizing is painted as useless infighting or just being jealous that trans women have a word to describe their oppression. I vehemently disagree with this one, I think everyone deserves language to describe their experiences. I think it’s impossible to ignore the way that both transphobia and misogyny interact to affect us in a new way (the very definition of intersectionality), and that we deserve to recognize and describe that intersection. Even the coiner of the word “transmisogyny” appears to agree with us on this.
Other people will focus on the term’s perceived origins. They frequently call the person who changed the term “transmisandry” to “transandrophobia” a “lesbophobic transmisogynist” and rape fetishist. From everything I’ve been able to put together on the matter, it seems to be that they’re referring to him having engaged in someone else’s detrans kinks as a sex worker on a private blog. I’ve heard from others he may have harassed people, absolutely cannot verify that. To me, it feels like another case of accusing trans people with kinks others find unsavory of being a sexual predator/sex pest, which people generally recognize as transphobic. In any case, even if every single part of their outrage was true, I do not think the behavior of a person who didn’t even come up with the ideas means that transandrophobia theory is inherently transmisogynistic.
In regard to “throwing trans women under the bus,” I think a lot of those ideas come from oppositional sexism. It’s assumed that what we’re saying is true of men must be the opposite for women. Trans women, including the woman who coined “transmisogyny,” have been using trans men’s perceived “opposite” experiences to prove their points for many years. They try to make a claim for transmisogyny by saying trans men don’t experience similar issues (violence, sexualization, demonization, safety issues, misogyny, trouble passing). But the reality is, trans men do experience those issues — some to a lesser extent, some in a different form, some just less visibly due to our chronic erasure — and have other issues of their own that trans women don’t face (like abortion rights issues). An attack on the idea that trans men have it easier is seen as an attack on transmisogyny as a concept. But it isn’t!! Transmisogyny is so blatant and oppressive of a system that it doesn’t need to compare itself to transandrophobia/trans men’s issues to have ground to stand on. Trans people are all harmed by transphobia in different, complex ways and none of us have gendered privilege.
Very few people engage with the actual meat of transandrophobia theory. We have really bad optics, I’ll give them that. It’s hard to like a word with “androphobia” in it, talking about men’s issues puts people on edge due to MRAs, and there are TERFs actively trying to recruit us. (The last part is used against us when it shouldn’t be, they try to recruit transmascs of all stripes for detransitioning and are only using us in particular because so many transfems have been awful to us because of the term. They are trying to widen that divide while most of us discussing transandrophobia are trying to close it.)
We (people who use “transandrophobia”) are often characterized as a unified movement that hates trans women (like in that post that blew up in the wake of predstrogen’s banning). We are not a movement any more than “transmisogyny” or “exorsexism” are. We don’t all believe the same things, the only thing we share in common is that we feel transmascs have a specific kind of oppression and deserve a word to describe it. And, obviously, we are doing our best not to perpetuate (trans)misogyny! The number of disclaimers I have seen people put on their post to make it exceedingly obvious to the piss on the poor website that they’re not talking about trans women is absolutely astounding. I’m sure our circles do have some transmisogyny in them, everywhere does! We do our best to combat it and I know my personal spaces have a couple transfems in them that help keep us in check. If we were being genuinely transmisogynistic, I would ask people to actually point to what they’re seeing that’s harmful instead of just dismissing all of us as evil bigots.
I think what contributes to the backlash the most is simply that trans men do not fit into current understandings of feminism well. People have gotten it into their heads that men are gender oppressors and not gender oppressed — which doesn’t shake out so well when you put being trans into the equation. I grew up hearing “ew men are gross” “I hate men” “kill all men” sentiments due to being in LGBT spaces. Some people really, really do not want to let go of the idea that men are bad and icky and dangerous and women are good and pure and safe, especially when it benefits them as non-men. Many transmascs themselves have internalized the idea that they are gender oppressors, traitors to feminism, more likely to be dangerous/predatory/misogynistic, and take up too much space because they are men/mascs. I sure felt like that before finding these conversations! I sincerely think that as we grow our transfeminism and heal from our gender essentialism a little more, this rhetoric will be left in the past.

AITA for not letting my brother (25M) use my mom car.
Sorry, not an english speaker so maybe weird grammar.
I (29F) honestly thing i might be TA here but let me kinda justify myself.
My brother wanted to use my mother's car for delivery (think Uberfood) and I vehemently disagree as it is the only car in the household.
For context, my brother has a history of, let say, fucking up. But the biggest fuck up is when he crashed my mom's friend car which I cited as protest. It is also the reason why we're in debt and why there's only one car.
So, our car had to go into service, so we didnt have any transportation to go to work. So my mom friend generously loaned her second car for the week. My brother was back from his overseas work and were staying with us.
He persuaded my mom to let him use the car for the evening and my mom agreed as long as he come back that night. The next day rolled around and he isnt back, and I have to go to work. So we called him multiple times before he finally picked up and assured us he's coming back. 30 min later, another call.
He got in to an accident.
He had broke his nose and bruised his chest and arm, but he's fine. That's the good news.
Bad news he rammed into another car, wrecking both in the process. The other car driver was also fine, minor bruises and all that.
Alright fine, the insurance will cover 85% of it, its not the worst thing.
Worst news, my brother doesnt have his license.
Like i said, he's been working overseas and only comes back for two weeks leave every three months or so. The license renewal is every two years. He has had plenty of times to renew his license. Worst he had lied he had renewed his license. It was only after the other driver called the police did he admitted that he didnt renew his license.
So now, no insurance. We're now in 50k in debt.
I say we because my mom had to take out a loan to pay for his car wreck and because it ended up not being enough, I also end up taking out a loan. He couldnt do it because he has a criminal record so we had to. Also had to sell our car for a cheaper one because the loan bleed us dry
He promised he would pay us back for the loan as soon as he starts working again.
Less than six months later, he lost his job because it was a scamming scheme company.
Now he is back and he wants to start doing deliveries and I am not having it. I told him that he needs to look for a job that doesnt require him using the car as he has a motorcycle he can use. And he keeps bringing up the fact that using the car means he can get more deliveries done as it is more comfortable which means more income, and the fact that I cant even drive myself, so i shouldnt have an opinion.
(I cant drive due to physical disability. Its mild but my mom does have to drive me to work.)
So, AITA for not letting my brother use my mom car?
What are these acronyms?

The tadpole, the warlock and the devil - part 1
The beach
Tumblr media
Just imagine being a warlock with none other than Raphael as your patron. Of course, after the crash of the Nautiloid, it wouldn't take long for Raphael to seek and find you, considering that you're his favourite. You hadn't even regained consciousness when he descended from the sky, looking around, observing the destruction before he carefully approaching you. He reached out, placing his hand gently on your cheek. There was a momentary concern as he realised your skin felt colder than usual, but it quickly faded when he noticed your steady breaths.
"Little mouse! Wake up!", he whispered tenderly, his hand caressing your cheek affectionately.
As you began to stir, Raphael swiftly composed himself and your eyes met his typically unimpressed expression, though adorned with a faintly amused smirk.
"Raphael? What happened? Where am I?", you groaned, gratefully accepting his hand to help you get up.
"You, my dear mouse, you found yourself in quite the predicament, but fear not, it unexpectedly turned into a rather advantageous situation, if I may say so."
"For whom?", you asked skeptically.
The affection you held for the devil was no secret and yet, after all those years in his service during which you got to truly know him, you wouldn't naively accept the seemingly gentle words which slithered so effortlessly past his lips.
"Both of us", he replied, a hint of warmth and sincerity in his voice.
If there was one truth everyone agreed on, it would be that devils lacked a heart, or at the very least, the capacity for love. However, Raphael vehemently disagreed with this notion whenever he found himself in your presence. The rhythm of his darkened heart quickened each time whenever you lingered near him. Your mere presence rendered his usually sharp mind nearly useless, each and every thought of his gravitating around you, being inevitably pulled towards your precious soul, all caution or desire to resist dissipating. The son of Mephistopheles was undeniably in love with his little mouse however this secret had to be tightly guarded for now, to ensure both his and your safety.

So I have been seeing interesting discussion on the endings of Gabriel. The miraculous movie vs The season 5 finale ending.
-And the criticisms for the movie ending are valid, Marinette/Ladybug’s conflict is a lot less personal (cause time constraints)
-Gabriel technically defeated himself
-There wasn’t enough build up for the climax to feel satisfying unless you knew the show.
-Marinette’s personal involvement felt minimal to nonexistent. (She never met Gabriel)
-The powers are inconsistent
The wrap up was too quick
And these are legitimate criticism, especially because we never have Marinette interact with Gabriel once. Something that should have happened.
I can understand how that ending could feel unsatisfying.
Then we have the season 5 finale, which has the opposite problem
-It involves Marinette so much that Adrien is completely sidelined as a response.
-Gabriel ‘Wins’ but according to the writers he lost. (I saw the commentary. I vehemently disagree with there interpretation)
-Adrien never finds out about any of this
-Lila feels shoehorned in as the season 6 badguy
So I thought about both sides more, rewatched the S5 finale and the ending with these new perspectives and… I still prefer the movie ending more than the finale.
But why is that? Objectively speaking The movie is much more flawed and has very littler personal investment of Ladybug vs Hawkmoth. Something that movies don’t often do.
While The show has built up this personal conflict between Gabriel/monarch and Marinette/ladybug
By all logic I Should prefer the show ending.
But I don’t, and it’s precisely BECAUSE of the reasons I listed.
Movie! Marinette’s lack of personal connection to fighting Gabriel allowed me to focus on Gabriel’s motive and his interaction with his son. His genuine care of his son being his downfall MADE sense. Marinette was focused on saving her partner than fighting a villain, which the movie showed to be more of the core of the movie. Even foreshadowing the “Save one Life, save the world” line. And it even fits the fairy tale theme ML tries to go for.
Meanwhile the Show’s ending had a really good fight at the core with Marinette and Gabriel clashing. The fight between Monarch and Bug noire is one of the best in the series… BUT it’s because of this conflict that the ending feels so GUT WRENCHINGLY awful. Because it’s just another case of Marinette failing to stop Gabriel from doing what he wanted. Gabriel may have changed his initial wish, but he still basically did what he always did, cease power and leave Marinette to clean up the mess.
Even taking Adrien out of the equation doesn’t help fix the ending. Because Gabriel still did what he wanted. Gabriel gets a statue, he gets to die seen as a hero that he never was. He is seen as a good man. And it leaves Marinette having to let Paris think that. We don’t see Marinette doubting this, we don’t see opposition or even a question on it. It’s Marinette once again doing what she always does, taking on the burden.
Ah but the difference is that ML still has more seasons. This could all be subject to change. People could find out the truth. The wish has consequences.
And that is correct. There are consequences. And do you know who will face those consequences? Marinette. Because she always does. That’s what the show Always does.
The movie ending also has a potential sequel, but at least there, Marinette and Adrien don’t have secrets, Fu is still there, and the weight of reality doesn’t hang on Movie Marinette’s shoulders only.
And I think that’s what it comes down to.
It’s because I love Marinette that I hate how she has to fail after all her efforts and would rather have an ending that has less personal stakes for her if it means she can be better off as opposed to this drama bomb that basically left her back as the one with the weight of reality on her shoulders.

Man, you absolutely need to find your way into the pro Jedi corner of AO3.
Setting that aside, what do I think the clones' opinion on Anakin is in canon (and specifically Rex's opinion)?
It seems overall positive, from what we can tell. In season 2 during the Landing at Point Rain episode, Rex's only obvious response to being thrown off a wall is to tiredly tell Anakin to "just ask him to jump next time." During the Umbara arc in season 4, Fives specifically points out that Anakin would never act the way Krell does. In season 6, during the Fives chip arc, we see Fives feeling pretty comfortable teasing Anakin with a dick joke and Anakin's only response to it is basically to tell him to focus. In season 7, Rex feels comfortable pushing Anakin a little about the mission to find Echo, to ask for help and support from Anakin without worrying about any major backlash (granted, Anakin DOES nearly refuse to help Rex at all and Padme has to talk him into it, but Rex clearly believes it's worth asking Anakin for assistance at all which still tells us something about what Rex thinks of him). In Rebels, Rex does nothing but gush about Anakin very positively, at nearly any chance he gets. Rex obviously doesn't know about Anakin betraying them all at this point, and you could argue that due to how he likely thinks Anakin died that his memories have perhaps developed a rosy hue that kind-of distorts them into something more positive than they were initially. But that's speculation and my personal interpretation based on my feelings about Anakin, not necessarily what's actually represented within the show.
So overall, what we DO see of Anakin's relationship with the men under his command during TCW is generally positive and that he's a General who does try to minimize casualties among his troops. HOWEVER, he is not the ONLY Jedi who is trying to minimize casualties, but one of MANY. In the Umbara arc, Fives doesn't just point out that ANAKIN would never be like Krell, but that NONE OF THE JEDI would be like Krell. And during the Citadel arc, there's an entire side story where Tarkin criticizes the Jedi for explicitly refusing to push for victory at any cost, and while both Ahsoka and Obi-Wan vehemently disagree and defend the Jedi's strategy, it's ANAKIN who agrees with Tarkin that they're being too soft. So while Anakin appears to be going along with the Jedi's current strategy and is smart enough to recognize that sometimes there are smarter ways to victory that cost fewer lives, he is BY FAR not the only Jedi to care about minimizing clone casualties and is in fact the ONLY Jedi we ever see who seems to believe they're being TOO SOFT and should maybe be pushing harder for victory no matter the cost.
Rex's relationship with Ahsoka is... odd sometimes. I feel like the end of the show (and things like TOTJ) sort-of insinuate that their relationship is a lot closer than we actually see it be during TCW. There are practically no scenes where the two of them get to just... be together and bond. It generally seems to stay pretty professional through season 5. Obi-Wan at least has a few times where he and Rex have sort-of SHARED an experience on a mission together, like their time on Kadavo as slaves or even Umbara to some degree, Christophsis, Saleucamai, etc. The only arc coming to mind where Rex and Ahsoka are left together is the Blue Shadow Virus arc which focuses much more on Ahsoka bonding with PADME, not Rex or the clones. So while Rex's relationship with Obi-Wan seems to also be fairly basic and professional, there's a lot more times where the two of them end up on a mission together without Anakin or Ahsoka around, while Ahsoka and Rex often seem to get separated and when they aren't, the focus is on Ahsoka bonding with someone ELSE.
I think a lot of people WANT Rex and Ahsoka to have really cared about each other and obviously season 7 of TCW made it a lot more explicit, but the first 5 seasons of TCW don't really build it up that much, and it's something I think TCW failed at personally. It would've been nice to have more exploration of that relationship, but I just don't feel like we got it. If we ignore season 7 of TCW, I honestly feel like Rex DOES have more of a relationship with Anakin than he does with Ahsoka. I think it's always very professional, but there does seem to be a level of familiarity and comfort and respect there between them that just doesn't exist with Ahsoka.
All of this being said, I don't think any of that really justifies Rex GUSHING about Anakin in Rebels and constantly comparing him favorably to Kanan, that doesn't feel in character for Rex to me or particularly accurate to the way that relationship was actually portrayed.
Nor do I think that any of the more professional respect that Rex did have for Anakin would keep him from refusing to forgive him once he finds out the truth about Vader. People attribute "I'm no Jedi" to Ahsoka these days, but the first person to say that line was REX, right before he spears a slaver. And I think it would be reasonable to assume that, if Rex as told the truth about Anakin, that he'd be able to look back at their history and see all of the times Anakin took advantage of him in a very different light. When he thinks Anakin was a heroic Jedi, he can see those moments as just Anakin trusting Rex with all of his deepest secrets. But after he knows Anakin is the one who enslaved the clones and murdered the Jedi? I imagine that might change.
And dear LORD, I've got about a MILLION issues with the idea that Anakin de-chips the 501st clones post-Order 66 and that they still LIKE HIM afterwards. For one, Anakin would not do this. This is wildly out of character for him. Anakin is a slaver and people need to just accept that this is a completely canon aspect of his character. Anakin does not CARE about anybody while he's being Vader, his primary concern is HIMSELF and he wants everyone else to be miserable in the dark with him. He has zero issues with causing pain or exerting power over people and we see this OVER AND OVER AGAIN during the Original Trilogy. There is absolutely no way that Anakin, while still Vader, would EVER de-chip the clones.
But even that has nothing on the absurdity that is the idea that the clones still LIKE HIM once they're de-chipped, like... WHAT THE FUCK. They now know that Anakin MIND-CONTROLLED THEM INTO WEAPONS that he used to cause a GENOCIDE AGAINST THE JEDI. How in the FUCK would any of the clones be OKAY WITH THAT? Anakin MARCHED THEM INTO THE FUCKING TEMPLE AND POINTED THEM AT INNOCENT MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN. If there is ANYTHING that we learned about the clones during TCW, it's that they would NEVER have been okay with that or done it of their own free will. So the only way you can justify the clones "getting along" with Anakin post-Order 66 is to claim the clones just hated the Jedi enough to be totally fine with having been used to commit their genocide.
And even if we assume that, we still have to assume the clones just don't care that much about Anakin having been a part of mind controlling them IN THE FIRST PLACE. That's a MAJOR betrayal for them to forgive EVEN IF they don't care about the Jedi they were forced to kill (INCLUDING CHILDREN). And these are the 501st clones, which means they would've personally known Anakin, these were the men Anakin was PERSONALLY responsible for protecting, which just makes the betrayal all the worse. It would've been bad enough if it was, say, the Coruscant Guard who probably barely know Anakin and who Anakin was not tasked with ever leading, but it's not. It's the 501st, who HAVE to rely on Anakin to lead them well. It's the 501st, many of whom already went through Umbara where they dealt with a Jedi General who treated them JUST LIKE THIS and we saw that NONE OF THEM LIKED IT (even Dogma, who believes in loyalty to the Jedi above all else, doesn't actually LIKE what they're forced to do and is just as horrified as anybody else when they realize they've been tricked into killing fellow clones).
So while I think it's entirely fair to say that Rex and the other 501st DID have a positive relationship with Anakin during the Clone Wars and that Anakin was doing his best to minimize casualties, I think it's UNFAIR to claim that Anakin was doing something the other Jedi WEREN'T also doing and that the clones would EVER continue to respect or like him post-Order 66.

000 | the first encounters
wc: 1,078 a/n: please keep in mind this one will be a short one since this is just the preface to everything, this is just a base. i hope you are ready, and i hope you like it :))))<3
starting college was no fun. you were not excited, if anything, you were scared as fuck.
getting into one of the top schools in korea without being from that stupid prestigious high school always left you wondering if you’d be enough for it. but it’s not like you didn’t deserve your spot or anything like that. you worked your ass off for it.
the first time you and haechan met was in your freshman year of college. it was during a class, one of the introductory courses required for your majors. the lecture hall was filled with new faces, and as students filed in and took their seats, you found yourself sitting a few rows behind haechan. of course back then you didn’t know who he was, you didn’t even give him a second thought after you sat down.
as the lecture progressed, you found yourself inadvertently drawn into a discussion with haechan. it started with a friendly debate about a topic the professor had introduced, and soon your exchanges evolved into a spirited back-and-forth. you disagreed on almost everything, but your arguments were lighthearted and filled with laughter, at least back then.
Tumblr media
the first heated debate between haechan and you revolved around a seemingly innocuous topic: the quality of the movie casino, starring robert de niro. to haechan's surprise, it was one of his favorite films, while you had a strong dislike for it.
all thanks to stupid introductions and ice breakers.
the discussion quickly escalated into a passionate argument, with you vehemently expressing your reasons for despising the movie. you found the plot uninspiring and the characters unrelatable, and you couldn't understand the acclaim it received. your fervent dislike of "casino" was matched only by haechan's unwavering defense of the film.
your exchange was a microcosm of your entire dynamic—two passionate individuals with opposing views, both unwilling to back down. you debated back and forth, your arguments laced with humor, sarcasm, and a touch of flirtatious banter, even if you both vehemently disagreed on the film's quality.
your first debate about casino set the tone for your subsequent interactions, underlining the undeniable chemistry and rivalry that defined your relationship. it was a sign of things to come, as you continued to clash over various topics, finding a unique connection in your differences.
haechan's teasing and mockery during that first semester extended beyond your intellectual sparring. he couldn't resist taking jabs at you for not attending a prestigious high school like many of your classmates. his comments were often laced with a hint of condescension, highlighting the differences in your backgrounds.
you, while proud of your accomplishments and your journey to college, felt a sense of insecurity when haechan made these remarks. you knew you had worked hard to get where you were, but haechan's relentless ribbing about your background touched a nerve. it was a sore point in your dynamic, and it only added to the complex mix of emotions you felt towards him (which where mostly over powered by hate)
haechan's comments about your high school background were a constant reminder of your differences. it fueled your ongoing rivalry and added depth to your relationship, as you navigated not only your intellectual clashes but also the social and personal aspects that set you apart.
Tumblr media
in the midst of a discrete mathematics lecture, the professor had just introduced a challenging topic, and the classroom was buzzing with confusion and questions. you and haechan sat a few rows apart, trying to make sense of the complex concepts.
- today, we'll be discussing the concept of mathematical induction, a fundamental principle in discrete mathematics.
as the professor continued, you couldn't help but furrow your brows in concentration, scribbling down notes and attempting to grasp the concept. haechan, on the other hand, was flipping through his notes, looking somewhat uninterested.
that's what you hated the most about him. he was on his phone most of the lectures, never did any of the assignments, yet, he was an ace. you hated that you burned your eyelashes studying daily just for him to not give a damn at all and still (almost) surpass you.
haechan caught a snippet of your mumbling and couldn't resist chiming in, setting the stage for another one of your stupid fights.
- hey, it’s not that complicated. you're making it harder than it needs to be. they taught us this in high school, you should know it. he smirked.
and you, feeling frustrated, couldn’t keep it in.
- haechan, not everything can be solved with intuition and shortcuts. mathematical induction is a precise process that requires rigorous understanding.
their exchange didn't go unnoticed by your classmates, who were used to your ongoing shenanigans.
- here they go again, like clockwork. renjun sighed.
like you, renjun didn't come from a prestigious school and was experiencing some challenges adjusting to your new college environment. you bonded over your shared experiences. you had met him on the first day. he was your deskmate and as much as you tried to avoid each other (not out of hate or spite or anything like that, the both of you were just... shy) you ended up finding each other at classes or in the halls, and when you realized you were already friends.
the professor, aware of your history, decided to intervene.
- y/n, haechan, i appreciate your enthusiasm, but let's not disrupt the class. if you have questions or concerns, please bring them up after the class.
you and haechan, albeit reluctantly, decided to quiet your argument, each continuing to tackle the challenging topic in your own way.
Tumblr media
the balance between renjun's comforting presence and haechan's unpredictable nature created a unique and somewhat contradictory dynamic. you couldn't help but be drawn to both of them, in different ways.
and the weird thing was? you ended up hanging out with the two of them most of the time. by some sort of destiny situation, the three of you had lunch together and the instant connection between renjun and haechan was so palpable you wanted to throw up at the sight.
and that's how you ended up stuck with lee haechan from the first moments of college. back then you didn't knew all the chaos and turmoil he would bring into your life, and even if you would have been warned, deep down you knew nothing would have changed. you'd always end up tied down next to him, one way or another.

fluorescent lights shine down harshly on your skin . highlighting every ounce of exhaustion in your body . bones heavy with the events that conspired earlier morning , you watch as the clock ticks up to the end of the hour .

6 am . you’ve been in the police station for two hours now . and you’ve seen no one except the officer that brought you in . the clock was starting to irritate you . a knock to the door . you don’t respond . it’s not like they actually required your permission to enter . the knock was a courtesy . a chance for you to compose yourself . but you weren’t sheet music . notes weren’t being strung together for the listener’s pleasure .
the cop enters . taking in your form . he pulls his chair out and sits in front of you . the screeching of its legs on the linoleum floor making you jump . knees bumping against the underside of the table . the officer , who introduced himself as officer smith apologized for scaring you . another courtesy , one you didn’t deserve .
so would you like to tell me what happened earlier tonight ?
you heard officer smith pose the question . would you like to tell him ? no . of course not . but it doesn’t really matter what you want . you don’t have the privilege to want . you had done something bad . very bad . and now you had to face the consequences . you listened to the wrong person . but does that even matter ? no one made you do anything . every choice you made tonight was of your own volition . which makes you guiltier in more ways than one . with a deep breath and a trembling voice you started to tell your story .
it was around 8 pm the night before . your boyfriend was driving you to the drop location . music filling the silence between you . nerves filling your veins as you thought over what you were about to do . you were snatched out your thoughts by hyunjin placing a hand on your thigh .

you stood frozen in shock . you just killed someone . a numbness spread through your body as you looked at the fallen man . hyunjin cursed . it was never supposed to go this far . you felt him grab your hand as you both took off in a run . the getaway car waiting for you as you heard sirens pulling up to the scene . they recognized the two of you immediately shits firing as hyunjin turned the ignition . yelling at you to duck from the incoming bullets .

everything hurt . groans left your body as you turned to look at hyunjin . he was few yards away and not moving . you smelt smoke . the car was on fire . you had to get out and reach hyunjin . he had to be okay . fumbling around for the seatbelt you unfastened it and crawled out the burning car . glass cut your skin and the pavement your hands as you dragged your body to him .
your bloodied hands reach out to him . cradling his head in your lap . you kept repeating to him the he was gonna be okay . neither of you believed it . you watched as he tried to tell you something . his last words couldn’t escape past his lips . you brushed his hair away from his face as you shushed him . wanting him to conserve his energy . you knew what he wanted to say . he always knew he’d meet his end like this . in the arms of his love . he just wishes it wasn’t so soon .
sirens and shouts surround you as you savor the last few moments you have with him . with a final kiss to his lips you watch the life leave his body . you wish it was you instead . you couldn’t live on an earth without him by your side . you screamed as an officer dragged your body away. from his . the look of death permanently painted on his face .
the officer in front of you was still waiting on a response . he had just caught the notorious couple robbers famously know for being members of the stray kids family . he was definitely going to get a raise after this . so he waited patiently . all he needed was names . a confession .
you looked up at the officer . all will gone from your body .

Special Girl
Day two of Matty's Birthday Bash! She's short today because I'm exhausted but also horny Matty for y'all. Don't worry, all of this is leading up to birthday smut. Enjoy :). Series Masterlist.
Tuesday: First Birthdays As A Couple - Your Birthday
Tumblr media
Matty sits patiently on the edge of the bed.
It’s only past 9 in the morning and the curtains are shut tight which leaves the room still covered in dim light. He’s been up and moving for an hour now, a feat he’s quite proud of. Also, the fact that he’s managed to cook a whole breakfast spread without waking you up.
Now the tray—laden with all sorts of breakfast foods—sits on the bedside table. He’s thought of waking you up three times now but every time he ends up pulling his hand back. He can’t bring himself to do it because you just look so peaceful in his bed. Your messy hair is fanned out on his pillow, white sheets covering you till just above your breasts as your naked shoulder peeks out. Your eyelashes flutter every once in a while, your lips are parted slightly and your arm is thrown around lazily on his side of the bed.
His side of the bed. He likes the thought of the bed belonging to both of you, likes the thought of sharing his room with you, his house, his life. He’s become quite the hopeless romantic since you’ve entered his life and these are the quiet moments where he’s overwhelmed with bliss.
But the food is going cold.
Matty gets on the bed, crawls closer to you and puts his hand on your warm back, gently rubbing it up and down.
‘Wake up, baby,’ he whispers and places a soft kiss on your shoulder. He doesn’t miss the way a small smile immediately makes its way onto your lips.
You hum softly, barely even awake yet but he continues the kisses further up your shoulder, up the junction where it meets your neck.
‘Come on, birthday girl,’ he smiles, nibbles on your ear, ‘I got you breakfast in bed.’
That immediately perks you up and you sleepily grin at him. ‘You remembered!’ you mumble into the pillow with a barely concealed grin.
He frowns slightly, unable to hide the little pang of sadness he feels at such a simple statement. ‘Of course, I remembered, love,’ he continues placing feathery kisses on your cheek, temple and eventually your hair, ‘you’re my special girl, how could I ever forget?’
His heart immediately melts at your adorable reaction; sleepy and dishevelled with a big goofy grin on your face, you finally open your eyes. It also helps that he knows you’re naked under the covers and for a minute he debates just getting in and having a repeat of last night.
A faint rosy blush creeps up your face and Matty runs his fingers over your cheeks, traces the outline of the pink tinge.
‘You should spend all of today exactly like this,’ he grins, only half joking. ‘Wearing these bedsheets, hair exactly like this, drool and all,’ he teases.
‘I do not drool,’ you defend vehemently but also instantly check around your mouth which makes him laugh.
‘No, I’m serious,’ he says breathlessly, ‘what a dream that would be.’ He closes his eyes for a moment and lets himself get immersed in the daydream, in the feel of your warm skin that he could touch and caress any time he wanted to without any restrictions.
‘I can’t walk around your house naked!’ you giggle.
‘Mmm, I disagree,’ he says in a fake pragmatic tone, ‘you should only walk around my house naked.’
‘Pervert,’ you slap away at his chest, laughing along.
You clutch the sheets around you tighter and sit up, stretching slightly. The movement makes your back arch and Matty’s mind instantly floods with all sorts of racy thoughts. Which he has to actively control as he watches you eye the breakfast tray hungrily. You would be famished, he thinks, definitely after last night…and just like that his thoughts are back in the gutter. He's barely able to keep his hands (or his mind) off you.
‘Go on, then,’ he picks up the tray once again and puts it in your lap, ‘chef’s special waffles,’ he announces with a flourish.
You giggle at his antics and quickly dig in. Matty watches eagerly, practically at the edge of his seat as you put the first bite in your mouth, close your eyes a second later and moan in delight.

ngl i think you should've left that "y'all should read the webcomic" option from your poll bc it feels like everyone is picking that as a cop out instead of picking the correct option that is "gamzee sucks as a character"
Kinda agree. Gamzee’s character is a nebulous cloud of Plot Instigation, Racial Caricature, and Violent Abuse… Which circles back to being a part of the Racial Caricature. This is dogshit, and the fact that people will get mad at you and start huffing the biggest doses of cope you’ve ever seen about it to try to “disprove” you are just… It’s pathetic, honestly? He’s not difficult to grasp because of some deliberate, grand, esoteric writing choices that ultimately contribute to Homestuck being a metafictional artistic masterpiece, he is difficult to grasp because he is a confused slurry of Pure Plot Device and Unchecked Racism.
Both poll options are there for a reason - two vastly different ones, in fact - but honestly I wasn’t expecting the damn thing to blow up to the point where Cop-Out Responses would become a thing. I don’t really expect anything of mine to blow up. We’ve escaped fucking containment. It wasn’t really intended as a serious poll, it was intended to be a rent-lowering gunshot. It was intended to make people that would vehemently disagree with any of those points to go away. And now people are being Wrong in my General Direction. Hell on Earth.

I know the general consensus on here seems to be that Courtney and Shayne are gonna lay low this year but honest to god I think we're gonna get an engagement announcement this year.
Hear me out. First of all, no, I don't think they're already engaged. I think the ring is a coincidence. As Shayne put it in today's Reddit Stories w/ Quinton & Damien, you should probably have all of your shit figured out before you commit to getting married. I think they'd probably want to make things public before engagement because it will obviously cause a major shift in their lives. Either that or they'll announce things WHEN they get engaged.
So, why do I think they'll get engaged soon? Allow me to list my arguments:
Time - If we assume they've been dating since 2020(iirc the common estimate is specifically August of 2020), then this year will be their 4-year anniversary. Add on that they've known each other for almost 10 years I think? And that they've been living together for at least 2 years now. I think they're both probably aware that marriage is kind of a formality at this point, which sorta segues into my second argument...
Reddit Stories - Someone pointed out on here recently that Shayne has gotten better at discussing relationships since he stopped being single. I would like to add that he also seems to be good at talking about proposals. They've read the two proposal stories recently where Shayne has expressed very strong, consistent opinions about proposals that imply it's something he's thought about at length, maybe recently? The reason I said my last argument segued into this one is because Shayne has expressed that he believes that proposals should generally be considered formalities in that the person you're proposing to should already know it's gonna happen, just not when. That was paraphrased, but you get the point.
Marriage Fever - This is my weakest point, but I think it's worth noting that both Kimmy and Amanda got married last year, and Josh got engaged recently. Disregarding Courtney's infamous "slightly more engaged than me" comment, couples tend to tie the knot one after the other in group settings like this. You see people around you happily getting married, and you want it for yourself. Pretty basic but I thought it at least shouldn't go unsaid.
Anyone who reads this, please say something if you think there's something to add or if you vehemently disagree with me. I just love discussion.
Damnnnnnn! That's a very good argument especially what Shayne was talking on Reddit Stories video. He's definitely been thinking about it and talking with each other a lot on this kind of topic for sure.
