Requested: Yes/No ~ Hello, I have a request for Reneè Rapp. Reneè is an interview and is asked about her relationship with former co-star, Reader. (An aussie artist and actress) The two have been spotted by paparazzi and have been all over each other's instagram and tik tok together.

Pairing: Renee Rapp x Reader

Summary: Renee joins Drew Barrymore for NY92, where Renee's Australian girlfriend unknowingly becomes the centre of the conversation. ~ Word Count: 1.8k ~ Warnings: legit none

A/N: HI!! I am so obsessed with Renee atm, writing for her is EVERYTHING. Pls enjoy my lovelies! For those of you who get what I'm referencing in the title, I love you <3

The dim glow of ambient lighting cast a soft haze throughout the auditorium. Conversations hummed through the air as you made your way to your seat, a few rows back from the front, as the excitement in the room grew. In an attempt to blend in with the sea of eager spectators, you carefully adjusted Renee's cap, which you wore, pulling it low over your eyes.

Once settled in your seat, you couldn't help but fidget with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. As the minutes ticked away, you kept your head down, the brim of the cap casting a shadow over your features as you eagerly awaited your girlfriend to arrive on stage.

Renee had been looking forward to this night all week, eager to see and talk to Drew again, even if it was in front of a few hundred people. The two of you had met Drew on her show about a year ago when you were doing press together for The Sex Lifes of College Girls, in which you played Renee's on-screen girlfriend.

Unbeknownst to everyone else, you had actually become each other's off-screen girlfriends around 6 months ago when Renee invited you to collaborate on a song with her for her debut album, and your relationship grew from there.

You had been inseparable since.

Hence why you were currently sitting in the quietening crowd as the lights above you began to dim and the stage became illuminated with spotlights.

The crowd erupted with cheers as Renee and Drew walked onto the stage, waving enthusiastically and smiling infectiously at the audience as the applause echoed throughout the auditorium. You couldn't help but be in awe of your girlfriend as she gracefully walked across the stage. Your eyes scanned her gorgeous figure, causing a rush of warmth to flood your cheeks as she looked out into the audience, eagerly looking for you.

As her eyes met yours, her smile grew even wider when she noticed the hat you had on. With a playful wink and a finger pressed against your lips, a blush crept onto her cheeks as she giggled, shifting her focus back to Drew as she settled into her seat.

Once they had taken their seats and the cheers from the crowd began to fade, Drew gazed out at the audience with a wide grin, "I'm proud to say that Renee and I were texting this morning and that we both showed up in pinstripes.". Cheers filled your ears as you couldn't help but be captivated by Renee's infectious laughter and radiant smile, which always managed to make your heart skip a beat. "We did, and not planned either," she said with a joyful laugh.

"Thank you, everybody, for coming tonight. I heard the bar was packed, so I like that action. That just made me so happy. I'm like, that sets a tone, let's do this." Drew enthusiastically addressed the audience, yet your focus remained on Renee. The smile she wore filled you with familiar warmth, and you couldn't help but smile giddily just looking at her.

As the conversation between the two of them began to flow, covering deep yet incredibly entertaining topics, your attention remained undivided as you proudly listened and watched your girlfriend, admiring every tiny detail.

"So the show... I've read that you are going to come back for season 3 sporadically," Your ears perked up at the mention of the show. It had been a watershed moment for you and Renee alike in your professional and personal lives. Not only was the show itself a massive accomplishment for you, but the exposure you and Renee received from it helped propel your music careers to new heights.

"Yeah. It was obviously a tough decision to make." Renee spoke thoughtfully, her teeth lightly grazing her bottom lip. "The show has given me so much, but singing was always, like, my main goal in life, so." She continued as Drew nodded along understandably.

"I feel as though, if you have multiple talents, it becomes a challenge of, like, how do you fit them all in, how do you make them work cohesively, how do you go in certain directions," Drew spoke as you listened carefully, her words striking familiar chords as Renee nodded along.

"And I think that kind of idea and way of living is very reflective of you and also of your amazing Australian co-star Y/n, who is also a singer and someone who you actually collaborated with on your album." Your eyebrows immediately raised at the mention of your name. You noticed Renee glance at you briefly as Drew spoke, a slight smirk gracing her lips as she did so.

Renee flushed slightly as she returned her gaze to Drew, "Yeah, without a doubt. Y/n and I are very similar in how we function, which I think definitely contributes to why we get along so well and why we love being around each other so much." Her nose scrunched adorably as the audience awwed at her words, a familiar red spreading across your cheeks as you melted into your seat.

"So you won't mind me asking how you and Y/n's on-screen relationship is going to go? Because, oh my god, the chemistry!" The crowd laughed as Drew fell back into her chair, her mouth agape in faux shock. You laughed along as you watched Renee hide her face behind her hands.

"If anything, being in more scenes with her is going to be what I miss most." It was your turn to hide behind your hands as Renee spoke, her eyes briefly glancing towards you. She laughed giddily as the crowd once again awwed at her comments. "That being said, though, I am really excited to continue exploring it. I love Leighton and only want what's best for her."

"Well, I'd say they're perfect for each other!" Renee laughed and thanked her as the crowd cheered in agreement. It was always heartwarming to see how much people enjoyed your work, especially when it was with your girlfriend - and even more so when it was about the two of you being in a relationship.

"I also presume that the chemistry comes off so authentic because, from what I've seen at least, you guys spend so much time together off set." The audience erupted in laughter as memories of you and Renee flashed through your mind, a big smile spreading across your lips as you admired your girlfriend on stage.

Her adorable giggles fill the air as she raises the microphone to her lips. "We do, yeah," she manages to speak from her laughter. Once her giggles had calmed down, she continued. "I am madly in love with that woman." your cheeks glow red even in the dimly lit crowd as she talks, your breathing deepening as your eyes raked over the love of your life.

"We spend basically every day we can with each other, and if we're not together, we're either texting or calling. It's great." Her cheeks flush a deep scarlet, and her grin grows wider by the second as you watch her.

"The paparazzi are certainly loving it," Drew commented, her eyebrows raising slightly. "Yeah, they are," Renee replied, a wry smile playing on her lips. "How do you feel about that?" She had grown somewhat accustomed to the constant presence of the media with their flashing cameras and relentless pursuit, but she still didn't love it, to say the least.

"I'm not a big fan of how intrusive they are and how they, like, force the whole 'public relationship' thing on people," Renee confessed, her words laced with frustration. The never-ending attention and gossip surrounding her love life had proven to be the most difficult part of her experience in the public spotlight.

Your heart skipped a beat when Renee mentioned the public relationship. Although no one had initially caught on, you knew someone would put it together in a matter of seconds, and whilst that thought scared you, it also brought a giddy smile to your lips.

You watched as the revelation hung in the air, a brief silence falling over the crowd before one of the audience members screamed excitedly, followed by several others as the realisation swept through the crowd.

"Wait… Are you guys dating?!" Drew burst out happily, unable to control her excitement as she, too, realised what Renee had alluded to.

A fierce blush spread its way across Renee's cheeks as she quickly moved to cover her wide smile and red cheeks with her hands. The crowd roared with excitement as she began giggling uncontrollably. You smiled proudly as her eyes met yours, shyly nodding for her to continue.

"Yeah,"

Screams and cheers erupted from the audience as Drew bounced in her seat. "Oh my God! You're kidding! "Tell me everything." Renee continued to laugh briefly before it faded: "We've basically been together since we worked on my song together."

The revelation hit the crowd like a wave, and your heart raced amid the uproar. The secret you and Renee had kept hidden for months was now revealed on a public stage, and you felt a mix of excitement and nervousness in the pit of your stomach. The spotlight had shifted not only to Renee but also to the secret love story that, until now, had played out behind closed doors.

Drew's exclamation mirrored the audience's sentiments, but your attention was drawn to Renee at that point. She sat there, bathed in the light from the stage lights, her eyes sparkling with a mix of vulnerability and joy. Your heart swelled with pride as she openly shared your relationship with the world, and you couldn't help but admire her.

"That's amazing! Did you like her before that?" Drew inquired, her eagerness palpable, echoing the curiosity that resonated throughout the auditorium. You held your breath, waiting to hear Renee's response.

"Of course I did. I had like the biggest crush on her the second we met." Renee confessed, her words hanging in the air like a melody that resonated with the audience as they collectively awwed. "Plus, her accent is like the cutest thing you will ever hear."

Drew leant slightly forward, her gaze fixed on Renee. "Is she here tonight?" she inquired curiously. Renee's lips curled into a mysterious smile, the stage lights reflecting the contours of her features. "She might be," she said, a small laugh escaping her lips afterwards. Her affectionate gaze moved across the dimly lit room, briefly meeting your tender gaze. She smiled softly as she spoke.

"And, to my girlfriend, who may or may not be here tonight, I love you so much, baby."

"hay, baby you can't sleep yet." you wandered past the lounge and noticed the australian start to drift off, shaking her ankle as she groaned and opened her eyes.

"why?" hayley sighed deeply, rubbing her face and crossing her arms over her chest. "because the entire point of your jetlag plan is so you're back and fit to train a few days before your match babe." you smiled sympathetically.

"baby i could just take a tiny nap? then i'll still sleep tonight!" the brunette tried to bargain as you shook your head. "not part of the plan, and as both your girlfriend and a physio i have to ensure you follow that plan!" you laughed, gesturing for her to sit up.

you and hayley had met during her season at everton. you were only a trainee physio then, on work placement to finish your degree but you'd caught the australian's eye right away, the two of you getting along like a house on fire.

hayley was sat with a proud smile at your graduation, still only a friend to you then but not for a lack of trying, you only taking her attempts to flirt with you as banter and not yet clicking she wanted to be much more than just friends.

after you were fully qualified you quickly found yourself with a job offer in manchester for the devils, though still with 6 months left on your lease you stayed living where you had been and hayley amped up her efforts to woo you.

finally you clicked that she wasn't just being friendly on a drunken night out with some of her friends who were visiting from australia that she'd insisted you join, two of them quickly pulling you aside and asking when you and hayley had started dating it all suddenly made sense.

fast forward a couple of years and you'd both made the move to spain and were living in madrid, hayley still playing football and you working in a local sports clinic, working more with younger kids and teenagers who came up from the academies than directly with a team like you had been prior.

"you're no fun." hayley pouted with a frown as you shook your head. "maybe not, but neither is being medically benched because the team physios catch wind you're too tired to be cleared to play." you warned lightly, her eyes widening.

"you wouldn't!" hayley sat up properly now with a scoff. "i would love, if it meant you avoided any and all risk of injury." you promised softly, running a hand through her hair and shrugging.

"i wish you'd stayed working in england." hayley mumbled as her eyes began to once again feel heavy. "well aren't you absolutely charming." you rolled your eyes, turning to leave as a hand grabbed the back of your top.

"sorry! i'm just tired." hayley groaned, pulling you down onto the lounge and trapping you in between her arms and legs in a tight bear hug. "i know baby, but this plan will mean you aren't tired like this for very long." you twisted your neck to sweetly peck her lips.

"will you play fifa with me then? i was getting my ass kicked at tillies camp and i have to make sure i can hold my own before the next one. i didn't win a single game!" your girlfriend huffed, forever hotheaded and fiercely competitive much as it amused you to watch.

"love i've not got a clue how to play. in fact hay you banned me from playing because it was 'too hard to watch' remember?" you quirked an eyebrow as a guilty smile curled into her features.

"babe that was ancient history, i'm a new much more patient woman now." hayley grinned as you let out a loud sarcastic peal of laughter and tapped at her forearms to let you up.

"it wasn't even eight weeks ago raso." you hovered over her with a shake of your head, suddenly pulling back as she tried to sit up and capture your lips in hers. "oi! come here and give me a kiss." the australian frowned impatiently.

"no." you smiled, standing and heading toward the kitchen to make lunch for the pair of you, not at all surprised at the sound of footsteps hurrying after you.

"hayley!" you gasped as a body barrelled into you almost taking you down to the floor before your girlfriend grabbed your hand, spinning and dipping you, holding you just from falling as your heart raced.

"don't do that! its not funny." you smacked her chest with a thump as she laughed and you scowled, trying to move past her but before you could take another step her mouth was pressed against yours, feeling the winger smile into the kiss.

"you're a child sometimes." you pulled away and smacked her on the head with a magazine that was handy on the counter, only causing her to smile wider clearly proud of herself.

"that can wait! just one game? it'll help keep me awake." your girlfriend tugged you back from the kitchen with her best puppy dog eyes as you sighed. "fine. one game!"

"how the hell do you defend? i forget the controls!" you moaned in annoyance, only having had possession for about two seconds this entire half as your girlfriend knocked back goal after goal.

"hayley!" you huffed as she made her player do a backflip after another goal and cheered loudly in your ear, kissing your cheek apologetically from where you lay between her legs, your elbows resting on her knees and your back pressed to her front.

"you said this would be easy." you complained as the game stopped for half time. "no, i said i would put the match settings on easy." your girlfriend corrected as you pinched her thigh unimpressed with the answer.

"you're winning 8-0 surely you can spare five fucking minutes to show me the controls again?" you huffed before she could click to resume play, a lazy kiss pressed to your jaw as she dropped her remote and her hands settled over yours.

"when you attack you click this to pass, this to clear, this one to sprint and this one for a header or a short ball, and this to shoot." she explained slowly, pointing out the different buttons as you nodded.

"when you defend its the same sequence just different results. this one to chase, this one to tackle, this one to slide tackle and this one to clear." your girlfriend explained as again you nodded, doing your best to follow along.

"so does this mean you might let me keep the ball for more than thirty seconds and maybe even give me a pity goal?" you asked hopefully as the winger grabbed her own control and grinned.

"not a chance darlin." she stole a kiss and clicked resume before you could bite back with a remark. the second half you played a little better, but still you failed to score and conceded yet another five goals making it so hayley won with a whopping 13-0.

"that was humiliating." you scowled tossing the remote to the side onto the lounge and rolling your eyes. "thats life, win some you lose some. i feel a lot better about my results at camp now! thanks baby." her hands settled either side of your face and tilted your head back so she could press kisses across your skin.

"you're welcome." you rolled your eyes, gently tugging her hands away and sitting up, glancing to the screen only for a moment as your head snapped back to it and you frowned.

"world class!? you said you put it on beginner." you turned to glare at your girlfriend who shrugged, quickly turning off the tv and sitting up on her knees.

"did i? guess i must have clicked the wrong one babe, sorry." she grinned, pushing you to lay down as her face hovered over yours, not an ounce of remorse in her eyes.

"you're such an asshole, i can't believe i like you." "only like?" "barely tolerate." "what happened to love!" "maybe if you weren't a world class bad loser, you might get some."

Ongoing Series - Thai

City of Stars (Fri iQIYI) ep 11 of 12 - Like most Thai BL pulps, this show doesn’t have much story to it. But I'm discovering that what it does have I actually really enjoy. I love that the gay boys got to play matchmaker for a change and I like how just GAY they are. It's nice. Refreshing.

We Are (Weds GMMTV iQIYI) ep 1-2 of 16 - University ensemble BL featuring PondPhuwin, WinnySatang, AouBoom, MarcPawinPoon. I like it. It’s old school Thai BL, but having fun with itself and its tropes. I’m not expecting much, so I don’t mind it waffling. All the couples are comfy. Chemistry is okay. Friendships are nifty. I like Pond's floppy hair. We fine.

Two Worlds (Thurs IQIYI) ep 5 of 10 - What an extremely bloody episode. And bad guy turned out to be very bad indeed. And now pretty much everyone is dead. Nice kiss. Of course.

Deep Night (Thurs iQiyi) ep 6 of 8 - It’s cute, they happy, not a ton happened. Random gratuitous bathing. As you do in BL. And I still think the sides should just end up in a thrupple

Only Boo! (Sun YouTube) ep 2 of 12 - Oh they very cute. Also very silly.

1000 Years Old (Thurs iQIYI) ep 9 of 12 - No. NOT THE GUITAR. YES abandon guitar for the sniff test! Love this for them. And me. My most favorite trope defeated my least favorite trope. VICTORY!!!

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

Unknown (Taiwan Tues YouTube & Viki) ep 8 of 11 - It’s just so good. Baby went away, grew up, and learned how to become a temptation... and a husband.

Gray Shelter AKA Gray Currents (Korea Thurs iQIYI) 1 of 5 eps - SooHyuk, only just surviving, reunites with YoonDae, his (brief) younger stepbrother who feels abandoned. They end up living together. The younger brother is played by Lee Jae Bin of Choco Milk Shake. OMG. STEPBROTHERS TROPE. Lucky me! Two in one season. Yay!!!! It's Korea so great visuals too. I shallow but yeah, this is great.

Living With Him AKA Kare no Iru Seikatsu (Japan Thurs Gaga) ep 1 of 10 - Kindly Ryota goes off to uni only to find his new roommate is his childhood bestie, Kazuhito. Kazuhito doesn’t have a girlfriend and Ryota tries to help him figure out why. Same director as Old Fashion Cupcake. It’s utterly charming. I am charmed. Also the framing is gorgeous (of course). Very stylish.

Love is Better the Second Time Around AKA Koi wo Suru nara Nidome ga Joto (Japan Weds Gaga) ep 6fin - I don’t know. Kind of a flat ending with the leads apart for most of it. I enjoyed this show but it never really hit with me.

Summation

After a teen betrayal and resulting separation a reporter reunites with his first love. That love wants him back. I enjoyed the authenticity of a reunion romance explored in Japan's quintessentially contemplative yet surreal way. The juxtaposition of the tenderness of the sex scenes with this Japanese style of authenticity was oddly elegant but all in all this still fell a little flat for me. There's nothing objectively wrong with it, but in total the narrative felt sluggish and the main couple were just... stiff (in the wrong way). Frankly, I'd rather just rewatch Tokyo in April is. 8/10

Love is like a Cat (Korea Mon Viki) eps 3-4 of 12 - What is going on with this show? No, I get the plot. I just don't get the show or why I’m watching it. Annoying.

What Did You Eat Yesterday Season 2 AKA Kinou Nani Tabeta? Season 2 (Japan Gaga) 10 eps

To Be Continued (Sat C3 Thailand grey) ep 7-8fin - I can't for the life of me find the final 2 episodes. Haven't had a real hunt, but yeah. No dice so far.

It's airing but...

Takumi-kun Series 6: Nagai Nagai Monogatari (Japan Furritsubs) eps 1-? of 10 - I may wait and binge it.

Lady Boy Friends (Thai WeTV grey) 16 eps - reminds me a bit too much of Diary of Tootsies only high school. Not my thing. DNF unless it turns a corner and is truly amazing.

Kiseki Chapter 2 (Sun iQIYI) 6 eps - It’s so boring DNFed at 2.

Close Friend Season 3: Soju Bomb! (Weds iQIYI) 6 - The problem with situational comedy BL is it must be situational, comedic and a BL. This show gets 1 of 3 claims correct. 33% is not a passing grade. Dropped at 3.

Memory in the Letter (Thai WeTV) - only 4 eps, tell me if I should bother?

4/18 At 25:00 in Alaska AKA 25 Ji Akasaka de (Japan Thurs Gaga) 10 eps - Yuki lands his first starring role in a BL drama alongside superstar Asami (previously his senior at uni). Said superstar suggests they form a sham relationship until filming concludes. As they actually begin to fall in love, the spotlight begins to burn. I think I've seen this before (joke) and also the trailer doesn't inspire confidence.

4/25 Boys Be Brave! AKA Roommates (Korea Thurs Viki) 8 eps - Trailer Jung Ki Sub is Kim Jin Woo's slacker friend - and secret crush. So when Ki Sub crashes at his place, his heart tingles to be near him everyday. But as the short stay turns into permanent mooch, how long can Jin Woo keep his true feelings under wraps and hold back from confessing?

4/26 My Stand-In (Thai iQIYI) 12 eps - adaptation of Chinese novel "Professional Body Double" by Shui Qiang Cheng. Stars Up (Lovely Writer) and Poom (Bake Me Please) directed by the same team as KP (not a recommendation IMHO - my biggest criticism of that show was the clashing directing styles). This one looks complicated, lemme try: Joe is a stuntman for famous actor Tong. Joe falls in love with Ming but Ming sees Joe as nothing more than a Tong-replacement. After learning this horrible truth, Joe dies. Joe then wakes up in the body of another man also named Joe. He manages to rebuild the same life as before—with the same people eventually re-meeting Ming. Ming wants Joe back but Joe doesn't understand why. But Ming seems to know what's going on and wants to give him some kind of explanation.

I'm exhausted just trying to describe the plot.

Knock-Knock Boys (Thai WeTV) - 4 college friends conspire to help their friend lose his virginity. Familiar faces like Seng (yes, Billy's previous pairing) and Best, news here. But will it actually air this month?

Update - uhmm wtf guys ? 😭I just woke up to this and this is the most craziest y'all have gotten with the love. Thankyou so much and I'm glad everyone is loving the BOOPSTERS. Maybe they'll be back some day or maybe you'll be treated to some new faces soon since my exams end on 23rd.

Also Seb ->I wanted to do one guy per season ( I don't consider season 5 and 6 a season and I haven't played season 7 yet). Back to why I didn't add seb, I feel like he has more of an introvert energy as compared to these guys, like he's the more kinda quite funny one, and all the LIs featured in this are the loud funny ones, so I felt that the vibe was a BIT different.

Now that we’re 6 weeks out instead of two, there’s lots more good stuff on there and I thought I would post this new and expanded list for you? I broke it into categories, doubled it, and found lots more wonderful stuff to read.

To the Universe

22 chapters and I cannot say enough good things. It’s amazing closure and feels SO good to read. Writing style in this one is very compelling and keeps you on your seat until the end.

Somewhere Only We Know

A stunning 40 chapters for anyone who wants to just burrow down in this universe and never leave it. The angel and demon go separate ways only to reunite to (yet again) save Earth one more time.

Daily Report

This is written REALLY well. 6 chapters manages to bring about a really nice arc to reconciliation post Season 2! I was impressed.

MULTI-CHAPTER FIX-IT WORKS

Wouldn't It Have Been Nice?

Crowley is called to Heaven by a dying Angel. Jesus intervenes. Will break your heart, but it has a happy ending.

I Do Love Nothing in the World So Much as You

Soooo nice. 3 chapters bringing them straight through it as Aziraphale comes back and tries to beg forgiveness. NICE arc in this one. Believable.

Oh Simple Thing, Where have you Gone

This one says 7 of ? chapters, but I included it because I like the premise and what is there feels sort of complete? An interesting fixit where the Metatron has devious plans and locks up Crowley as part of that. The Bentley has a starring role in here during several heroic rescue plans.

Something Wrong

Ooooo! A NICE twist in this one. I won't reveal it, but this fic is based on some of the most compelling theories around why Aziraphale might not have been totally consenting when Metatron takes him away.

Jesus, Etc.

Crowley runs into a frantic Aziraphale with Jesus in tow at a Barbenheimer premiere. A battle of the wills with pop songs in the Bentley, Taylor Swift, Kenergy, sushi, a nativity play and a magic show come next.

Aziraphale and Crowley have been separated, but the Angel won't let go. He kidnaps Crowley to a cloudscape and pleads his case. A Bridget-Jones like WWF bickering throwdown ensures. The part featuring reactions on the part of 737 Ryanair passengers and one airline attendant had me wheezing.

Just Called to Say Fuck You I Love You

This one is just spicy as hell, y'all. Aziraphale picks up on Crowley prayers while in Heaven, and let's just say that he's doing some ACTIVE praying.

Interviews Regarding 456, and the possibility of AAI ports and AA7.

Recently, a bunch of interviews with the producer of the upcoming Ace Attorney 456 collection, Kenichi Hashimoto, have been released. Most of these are in Japanese, discussing various elements of the upcoming ports, including new features like the Orchestra Hall and Story Mode, but a few bring up some interesting future directions for the series, including the possibility of an AA4 anime or live-action drama, AAI2 ports, and AA7. As well, some discuss the influence of overseas sales on the current direction of the series.

**Please keep in mind that most of these interviews (with one exception) were originally in Japanese, and translated with google translate (with some possibly inaccurate modifications by me). As a result, the validity of the translation may be unreliable.**

From Gamer, regarding overseas fans and the increase in sales overseas:

--What kind of opinions and fan base do you get from overseas about the "Ace Attorney" series?

Hashimoto: The “Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy” was released in 2019, and the number of users and sales have increased significantly in regions such as North America, Europe, and Asia.

--With the exception of "Ace Attorney Investigations," I think all numbered titles in the "Ace Attorney" series can now be played on current consoles. Was this possible because of the great response to the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy?

Hashimoto: Yes. As I mentioned earlier, it has been well received in North America, Europe, and Asia, and the number of users has increased, and of course there are people asking, "Why are 1, 2, and 3 available but not 4?" So I thought I had to do something about it.

Also, I wanted users to see games 4, 5, and 6, which are now playable on current consoles, so I was able to develop and release them. I think again that it is a very happy thing.

--In 2023, there were musicals and readings of "The Great Ace Attorney", but I'm also curious about the future development of the "Ace Attorney" series.

Hashimoto: After the 20th anniversary of the Ace Attorney series, I would like to prepare various things for the 25th anniversary. The same goes for orchestral concerts, and I'd also like to do plays, musicals, and anime.

The TV anime was made up to season 2 with Phoenix Wright as the main character, but Apollo has not appeared yet, and since it is a courtroom story, a live-action drama seems interesting.

-- Since ``Ace Attorney'' was made into a movie once, there is a possibility of a live-action drama as well.

Hashimoto: That's right. However, it's not like my dreams will come true right away... I hope all the fans of "Ace Attorney'' can look forward to it while imagining the various possibilities in the future.

--What are your plans for the future of the series? Could you please tell me about the possibility of ports of the "Ace Attorney Investigations" series, or another mainline entry?

Unfortunately, as far as I can tell you, there is nothing. However, we have no intention of ending the "Ace Attorney" series here, and we would like to see the series grow older, reaching its 25th anniversary in 2026 and its 30th anniversary in 2031. I don't know when or what I'll be able to announce, but please stay tuned for more information.

--If there were to be a new work such as ``Ace Attorney 7,'' what kind of thing would you want?

It's difficult to balance making a work that fans of the series can enjoy while also making it a work that new players can enjoy, but it is necessary to have the charm that is common to the entire "Ace Attorney" series. This includes the story, the characters, the puzzles, the tempo. These four will be essential for "Ace Attorney."

And finally from Siliconera about the news I've been waiting my whole life for -- this interview was actually published in English!

With so many Ace Attorney collections out now and games released, how would you feel about an Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth collection that includes localization of the second game?

Hashimoto: The development team is aware that fans are hoping for this. Unfortunately, we have no announcements at this time.

Most of this is of course corporate speak of not being able to confirm or deny anything, but this is the closest we've gotten to confirmation that AAI2 might be localized so far. As well, it does sound like the series is doing well, particularly overseas, which is encouraging for people hoping for more. It definitely doesn't sound like they think the series is dead yet!

Thunder storms

It's currently thunderstorm season where I live and I am absolutely horrified of them (always have been) so I decided to write some haikyuu men comforting you (the reader) during one because i desperately need this （；´д｀)

A bit of timeskip spoilers so watch out, G/N reader

(currently writing this during a huge ass storm and I keep getting startled by the loud thunder, LIKE SERIOUSLY IT'S BEEN THUNDERING THE ENTIRE DAY LET ME BREATHE NORMALLY)

"Oh, looks like there's going to be a storm." Kuroo looked outside, relaying the information to you casually. You've always been afraid of thunderstorms while he doesn't seem phased by them at all.

"Oh, really?" you turned your head to the window, and the sky was painted a dark grey. Guess he's right.

You shivered a bit when you heard the sound of thunder rumbling in the distance. Kuroo seemed to take notice of your nervousness, and joined you on the couch.

"I gotta go unplug some devices, I'll be back." you stood up, going to unplug everything. It always made you feel more safe during a thunderstorm.

It seems you were taking quite a while to do that, because you heard a yell from downstairs. "Are you going to make me wait forever, or...?" you could almost see Kuroo's stupid smirky face as he yelled that.

"I'm going, I'm going!" you yelled back, running downstairs. By now, the storm was almost right above you, flashes of lightning illuminating the hallway as you ran downstairs.

"Ah, there you are." he said, smirking at you as you sat down next to him.

A really bright flash of lightning made you jump, and the loud crack of thunder after it wasn't helping at all.

Kuroo's arms around you surprised you, and you found yourself in his embrace in a split second, as fast as the lightning outside.

"What are you-"

"I know you hate thunderstorms, so I thought hugging your boyfriend would make it all better." you couldn't see his face, the only thing in your vision being his dark blue hoodie since he was holding you tight.

"I'm not a kid, I don't need to be hugged!" you wriggled and squirmed in his grip, voice muffled against him.

Instead of letting you go, he just chuckled.

"It's not funny, let me go!" your wriggling got more intense, and yet you couldn't budge much. Dammit, why does Kuroo have to be so strong?

"Hm... How about no?" he asked in a sweet, cheerful tone. "How about yes?" you grumbled through your teeth.

"No can do."

"Let me go right now!"

"Nah."

"Stop hugging me!"

"Let me think about it....nope."

When your protesting didn't stop, he sighed.

"Listen, love, I know you like this, so stop being stubborn and accept your fate, because I don't plan on letting you go till the storm is over. Actually, scratch that, maybe ever."

You started to relax in his hold, knowing he meant what he said. He was right, you did like it. But were you really going to admit it to that jerk?

"There we go, just relax and let me hold you, babe."

"Shut up." you grumbled against him, arms circling around him to hug him back. You heard him make a satisfied hum above you.

"I'll never get tired of your hugs. You're just too cute." he squeezed you gently when saying cute.

"Yeah, yeah..." you mumbled, squeezing him back.

"You do know I meant what I said earlier, right? You're not going anywhere until I say so~" he smiled down at you.

"...I don't mind at all."

You were humming to yourself as you went downstairs to find your boyfriend, Kita, sweeping the floor.

"Why are you in the house?" it was currently 6 pm and your boyfriend was usually still out farming at this time.

"There's gonna be a storm,and it ain't safe to be outside durin' one." he replied without looking at you, still sweeping the floor.

"A s-storm, you say?"

"Yes, I heard some thunder rumblin' just now." he told you in his usual calm tone.

"Oh... Okay." you replied, already nervous due to the storm. You walked closer to him, since being in someone's presence made you feel safer during a storm.

"I noticed yer scared of thunderstorms."

I guess you could always leave your observant boyfriend to figure out everything about you. "Yeah, I am..." you said, unsure how to respond to that.

"Why? They're just another weather condition. Are ya afraid of snow, too?" he asked with that freezing cold look in his eyes, making you shudder. He really never holds back, does he?

"They're loud and creepy and if you get struck by lightning you can die." you explained.

"Ya can also die if ya get burried under snow. Shouldn't ya be scared of earthquakes instead? They cause a lot of damage."

You sighed as you flopped down on the couch. "Shinsukeeee..." he was right, earthquakes were much worse statistically speaking, but he just didn't understand your feelings here.

"Yeah?" he asked casually, still sweeping the floor, not registering your whine of his name as a complaint. Or maybe he did, but replied like he usually does.

"I'm-" a loud thunderclap interrupted your sentence, making you squeak in surprise instead of finishing it. You looked over to your boyfriend, who was looking at you, waiting for you to continue.

"Can you just... come hug me?"

"Will that make ya feel less scared?" he asked.

"Yes, of course." you replied, smiling.

He said nothing, going to put the broom away and cleaning up the collected dust and debris, and then joined you on the couch.

He hugged you wordlessly, and you hugged him back, the two of you laying down on the couch now.

"I don't like thunderstorms either, they can ruin ma crops if they're windy." he admitted, running his hand soothingly up and down your back.

"I get that." a bright flash outside made you flinch in his hold.

"I hate seeing ya scared. I want ya to feel safe with me."

"I do. You do a great job, I always feel so taken care of when I'm with you." you raised your head to peck him on the cheek, and watched as his cheeks turned pink.

"I'm glad." he pat your head gently.

"I want ya to be happy with me." he said after a small pause, thunder reverbating in the background.

"I am. You would make a good husband, you know?" you leaned up onto your elbows, smiling up at Kita. It's been on your mind for a while now, your wedding with Kita. A subtle hint won't hurt.

He was silent, a blush creeping up onto his cheeks.

"Ya can't just say somethin' like that outta nowhere..."

A bright flash outside made you flinch as you and Hinata were laying in bed. He was dead asleep, you could tell by his gentle snoring.

It seems that there was a thunderstorm outside which started at night. You checked the alarm clock, and it was 5.34 AM.

Your boyfriend would normally already be up by now on his morning run but he's currently on break and has a rare chance to sleep in so you didn't want to wake him.

Actually, even when he's on break he usually is up by 5 AM, something about keeping his routine and that it feels wrong to not do it. And you respect that about him a lot.

You reach out to pat his head, smiling to yourself, when your happiness is interrupted by the loud roar of thunder. He told you he would sleep in today so you two could start the day together.

You thought about getting up for a second, but you decided against it. So you just quietly and carefully cuddled up to him, hugging him from the back.

"...Babe?"

Your boyfriend's sleepy voice surprised you, and you thought you were hearing things.

But Hinata turned around in your arms to face you, eyes fluttering open.

"Oh, sorry. Did I wake you?" you removed your arms around him.

"Nah, I guess I'm too used to waking up early that I wake up early even when I'm not trying to." he said after glancing at the alarm clock.

He noticed the thunderstorm outside, immediately turning to you and hugging you close.

"I'm used to this, but it must suck for you to be woken up by a thunderstorm this early."

You nodded into him, hugging him back.

"I love you, Shoyo." you mumbled into him, and felt him tense up around you.

"Why would you say that all of a sudden?! I- I mean, I love you too." you looked up at him, to see his entire face beetroot red.

"You're so hard-working, always dedicated to volleyball" you reached up to boop his nose "aaand at making me happy." you giggled as he somehow got even redder.

"Hey, I'm supposed to be the one comforting you right now." he shut his eyes, avoiding your gaze.

"Oh, I always forget about the thunderstorm when I see your handsome face." you giggled again, sliding your hand over his cheek as lightning lit up the room for a split second.

He didn't say anything back, seemingly losing his ability to speak. He was so cute when flustered.

After a couple of seconds, he found his voice. "I'm glad I c-can make you comfortable. I always try my best to."

"I'm glad I make you happy, too." you replied, snuggling into him, the storm outside on the out of your mind as your boyfriend filled it up with him instead.

Idk if I wrote kita well, making him sound mean wasn't my intention I tried to make it sound like he doesn't get why you're scared and to convey his ice cold remarks

Also sorry about Kuroo's not being as lovey-dovey as the others 😭

Prepare some tea and pancakes because I'm gonna share with you my dp omegaverse au. Sorry for misprints, I try to fix them but always miss some of them.

1) Yes, halfas have ghost genders, too, because it's about a soul, not body. Dani? Well, she's too young yet, her personality isn't determinated

2) There are 3 ghost genders: alpha, omega and beta. Betas are the most part of ghosts (80%). As most people tgey exist to serve alphaa and omegas' wishes, ideas. Beta often doesn't even know what they really want or their desires are only a result of culture traditios. Examples: Bertrand, Technus, Bullet, Skulker*, Fright Knight (*hc that he is born ghost, so, he just want to survive being tge best hunter)

Alphas are the strongest gender (several alpha is stronger than several omega or beta). They dominate in a way people see it. They also barely doubt. They don't an appreciation but alphas often gather ghosts around themselves. As possible morpho feature is huge fangs. Examples: Young Blood, Pariah Dark, Danny* (at least we watched him developing as an alpha. Especially in season 3.)

Omegas dominates as well but through manipulations. This is why most omegas are demons (Desire, Ember, Spectra). They need appreciation, it's make omegas weaker. They make a cult from their persona or exist on their own. A possible morpho feature is fangs, too, but a bit smaller. One more example: Vlad.

3) Spirits is out of gender-party game (Clockwork, Valentine, Nocturn)

4) Instead of heat there's the vibrating period. (yea, sounds smutty, i know) It happens once in 4 years and lasts a month. This period is called from omegas' souls become extremely emotionally vulnerable and their core make vibrations that "vocals" all their deepest worries. Alphas of the same kind can apprehend vibrations and the scent of that omega (it's not sounds actually, they feel it by the whole body; more like snakes' bone conduction). This thoughts like a mantra sounds in alpha's mind, so, they try to help omega. Researchers-ghosts say that in the vibrating period increases the mating frequency.

An simple example of how it works on Pompous pep: Danny was 17 when oneday he started to hear in his head "Vlad needs you. He wants to get some love. You must be this one. He wants to love you and be loved by you. Vlad wants his happily ever after and vanilla family things with you. You know how much he's suffered from loneliness. What a hero would you unless you help him? At least one hug, a dinner, a kiss or just once have a..." Wherever or whever Danny is. This thought haunts him. The whole month.

And yes, omegas' emotions changes fast as a rollercoaster during the vibrating period. (sorry: they're purring. meow)

5) Fangs are for: a) mark your beta slaves; b) mark your omega (mate). Anyway, the mark means "you can't touch it, it's mine". It has the owner/mate's scent. Mated omega soul vibrations can't be apprehended by other alphas. Marks disappear after 4 years.

6) Betas lacks of gamets. Alphas and omegas are both isogamic. If they decide to make a child... they actually MAKE it. They form theur gamets and combine. Future parents watch for the egg, corrects the core from time to time. The eggs develops into the new ghost (halfa) after several months. But the child is still vulnerable. It can't survive without parents.

The stages so far of me binging the entirety of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries (spoilers if you haven’t watched it before):

1. “Yeah, the 1920s hasn’t ever really been your preferred vibe, but so many of your friends like this show, and you love ‘Clue’ which seems similar, so just bite the bullet and go.”

2. “Wait, they’re Australian? What? Did I know this before and forgot?”

3. “Ohhhh right, Miranda Otto was in this! I did know that. And she’s a cocaine lord?! Nice. Don’t get to see her in many villain roles.”

This is as far as I’ve gotten, but omg what a fun ride so far. Friends who tried to recommend this to me for YEARS, I am SO sorry I slept on it. I understand now and your taste is impeccable. *muah*

@rad-roche NOIR TIME! Turning my assignment in very late.

Agent Phil Coulson may not be a dame, but he does have a lot or weirdly specific things in common with Nick Valentine!

Your tutorial post on pulp covers was wonderful! But this was so many kilometres out of my stylistic comfort zone that the entire time was like agh! what the hell am I doing?.?? (And why it’s taken over a week). I found a lovely cover for reference “The Deadly September” on the archive you have linked in the tutorial.

Below is things I had to adapt to achieve a similar effect in Procreate, the reference images I used and, the worlds’s most convoluted speed-paint. (Learning new things is messy!)

⚠️THE SPEED-PAINT FLASHES QUICKLY A LOT !! ⚠️

Also I’ve listed some of the weirdly specific similarities between Coulson and Nick! so SPOILERS for Agents of Shield seasons 1-6 (I haven’t gotten around to watching 7 yet, and agents of shield isn’t MCU canon anymore anyway) and Nick’s story / far harbour in Fallout 4! (Spoilers below the speed-paint)

Procreate edits:

Totally used the back button more than I should have. I think I changed brush at least 3 times and edited the texture layers way more before it got to a point I was even remotely happy with. The brush I ended up settling with was procreate’s “Tarraleah” in the ‘artistic’ category, unaltered.

Procreate does have screen layers so was able to use that as in the tutorial, I set my chosen grunge at 90% opacity after inversion.

The contrast / brightness layer was tricker since that’s not a feature in procreate (??????), after lots of messing around I found that filling a layer with black and setting it to “soft light” mode and 85% opacity brings the paper texture I used away from the overly white tones without messing with the colour too much.

Since procreate doesn’t support per layer colour dropper, I had all of the texture layers in a folder so it can be hidden with one click, though personally I tend to guess the colour I need on the wheel rather than use colour dropper, so hiding the texture wasn’t an issue for me so much.

The colour check layer was also a black filled layer but this was set to colour mode as in the tutorial.

NICK VALENTINE AND AGENT COULSON SIMILARITIES (in my opinion):

Good people at heart

Multiple life shattering, personality altering crisis each.

Experimented on against their will by a group with highly advanced technology resulting in their unethical resurrection. Institute for Nick and Fury’s project TAHITI / Guest Host for Coulson.

Consciousness placed into a Synth / Life Model Decoy after their death against their will (LMDs are marvel’s version of synths with all the ‘is it a person’ and ‘the infiltrators are ruining our organisation’ that come with that) both are in highly modified unique Synth/LMD hardware

Both have killed an enemy they have been hunting for years for nothing but revenge, Eddie Winter for Nick and Ward for Coulson. (Though nobody stays dead in agents of shield)

Part of the plot requires entering a simulation with other peoples memories. DiMA’s memories for Nick and the Framework for the shield crew.

A partner that they can’t see because one of them was murdered as collateral damage. Jenny for Nick, and Coulson is the dead one for Audrey (the cellist)

Betrayed at a great personal cost by the organisation they were upholding when the org. Is revealed to be corrupt/evil. Police being in on Winter’s scheme for Nick and shield being hydra for Coulson.

Key Mission requires strapping them into a memory machine and poking around their brains/memories. Nick with kellogg’s memories and Raina’s need of Coulson’s memories from after he died in New York (though Coulson’s is a lot more traumatic on account of him being human at the time and marvel’s memory machine being painful)

Intentional memory loss forced on them by a third party. Nick’s institute knowledge and Coulson’s unawareness of his resurrection by Fury.

So much trauma, they can’t catch a break.

A whole piece on our Glenn being underrated and overlooked!

The article gets into some of his school days, Juilliard and his perspective on acting, his work on Sunny, leaving Sunny after season 12 when he'd thought the show should end (can't wait for that podcast conversation in 3 years or maybe even in Season 6 if they ever address Glenn Howerton Burnout No. 1), and later coming back, continuing to push his boundaries in acting in season 15 with the Ireland arc, and working with director Matt Johnson on Blackberry.

(Gonna use colours now to better distinguish screenshots of the article from my stuff for anyone not using dark mode)

A lot of it is quotes from Charlie and Rob, who are properly frustrated that he's been so overlooked (them, the original Glenn girlies!), his wife Jill, Megan and other people he's worked with, like an old drama teacher from school and Mike O'Brien from AP Bio.

(ok seriously who airbrushed and smoothed the shit out of his beautiful old wrinkly face in this photo, they need to be flogged)

There's also quotes from people, like the Lost writer who's a known Sunny fan and also co-wrote The Hunt, who watched him do his thing in Blackberry and think it's finally going to get him the recognition he's deserved all along.

CALL. THEM. OUT.

Honestly, all of this is just giving me a lot of respect for Matt Johnson, who was looking for comedic actors to play dramatic roles, specifically wanted Glenn to play Jim in Blackberry and had to fight to get him the role because Canadian productions with Canadian funding don't like using outside actors. This guy saw the vision and he was cool with Glenn getting that stupid haircut too.

Apparently, when Glenn received the script, his first thought was why me, shouldn't some bigshot do this role... he's such an idiot.

Something we've always known and the article confirms again is about how he's clearly grateful for the opportunities they have with Sunny, the kind that few writers/actors ever get with that level of creative control (something they get reminded of by other people in the industry a lot) but he's also been the most stifled by it of anyone in the cast because of his goal of being an actor more than the others, and so it gives him these mixed feelings about the longevity of the show.

I don't know if they've ever confirmed that RCG talked about ending the show around season 12.

He's not wrong. We know that once he came back to season 13, he did his rewrites on all the scripts featuring Dennis even though he wasn't fully back to writing yet. I personally don't think they should continue the show if any of them leave. They're better off taking longer breaks between the seasons like Curb does.

Good on you Rob. You tell them.

Seriously, they'd better now give him something good and interesting, so that it's not just us Sunny stans screaming into the void like usual.

Saw some discourse (can't remember where) about Crowley's sunglasses in the timeline

Vaguely I remember it said that him wearing glasses in the Job minisode, Land Of Uz (2500 BC) , seemed "out of place" / unnatural when later he doesn't wear them in Golgotha (33 AD), when they witness the crucifixion.

Originally in the season 1 timeline of their encounters, we first witness and therefore, were inclined to believe that Crowley's first debut of their signature shades was 6 years after Golgotha, in Rome (41 AD) .

But we find later that he actually debut a pair of tinted spectacles earlier in 2500 BC, which is year's before we were led to believe in season 1.

And even then another flashback minosode could change it yet again.

Now, we know that Aziraphale and Crowley's meeting in the Land of Uz is the first they've seen of the other since The Flood, Mesopotamia (3004 BC) * [Aziriphale makes a comment about it].

I did wonder if maybe this was the first time Aziraphale sees Crowley with eye-glasses. But I feel like he would've made a comment about them. Upon recognizing Crowley he sort of gives him a look up and down at their appearance, but he dosen't mention anything about it despite it being the biggest change in apparel worn. Prior it was mostly just variations on long robes of white and black respectively seen worn at the Garden (4004 BC) and at the flood (3004 BC).

I feel like Aziraphale would've said something about it, unless he had already seen Crowley in something similar previously. Or rather he understands that Crowley is simply blending in.

This leads into my PoinT...

That Crowley wears glasses in order to pose as a human (aka. Billdad the Shuite).

Crowley has a number of personal reason he prefers to where his Sunglasses (look cool and mysterious, hide his expressions/feeling, as an armour to protect himself etc.) But professionally, it would be hard to go about your buisness if people were freaked out by your serpintine features. So he wears them to blend In.

In the Job-isode, the times Crowley is wearing the glasses (aside from his first introduction) is when he is posing as the HUMAN, Bildad the Shuite, professional midwife/cobbler. He even fools multiple Archangels of heaven with his human guise.

Now compare that to when he isn't wearing them. After taking them off to taunt Aziraphale he doesn't put them back on? Why?

Because he isn't pretending to be the human family friend Billdad the Shuit . With Job's kids, He is acting as a demon, "sent here to destroy you all" (but not actually, just turn you into lizards, temporarily).

So I pose the reason Crowley wears glasses in 2500 BC, but not in 41 AD when he meets Aziraphale and re-introduces themselves as the now "Crowley", is because he wasn't assuming a human identity at the time. In fact he could've just popped round after doing some demonic work. He does mention how he "showed him all the Kingdoms of the world" (one of the temptations offered to Jesus in the dessert).

Eventually, approximately starting 6 years later in Rome (but possibly as far back as Job), eyeglasses become a permentant feature of Crowley's earthen appearance/apparel for year's to come. In fact I'm sure Crowly inadvertently invented all the stereotypes of cool/dangerous guys in sunglasses for the future.

I believe the glasses become a facet of their identity, as he creates it while living on Earth. As he begins to re-invent themself (beginning with re-naming himself) and develop his identity on earth he adopts the sunglasses more.

For convenience as times became more modern, but also because they proved useful in tricking both heaven and hell. Heaven won't recognise him and Hell can't tell what he's thinking or feeling. Nothing is given away.

Anyway that's ma'point. Better stop now before I start rambling more

I have more to say, I especially want to dive into the change in Aziraphale's demeanor with Crowley from the start of the Jobisode, towards the end as well as how it compared with their previous encounters shown in season 1.

Look, I've been kind of racking my brain to try and remember...why I picked this one? Like, I knew I wanted a Season 7 rip to cover this week, and I knew I'd picked one but couldn't remember which one, but now...well, it's time for Nyan Cat I guess! Yet even without a speech prepared, its not difficult at all for me to say that 2023! YEAR OF THE PORTAL RADIO! is just, really funny.

I'm unsure if I want to truly label Season 7 as the *start* of it, but it feels like SiIvaGunner as of recent has had a lot of fun covering a bunch of different parts of internet culture, without avoiding any sort of them for any perceived nature of "cringiness". SiIvaGunner's always been a celebration of the internet, of course, but let's not forget that the entire core storyline of the channel began from a perceived notion that anime music, and anime in general, has no place on the channel - and only recently, the creator of Field of Love and Cringe made an excellent post covering the insecurities they had over what they felt "allowed" to like or not like when online. I feel like with the rips of Unregistered Hypercam 2's reign and the fallout of it, with everything that happened behind the scenes at SiIvaGunner over the course of Season 4, 5 and 6, things gradually became a lot less cynical, a lot of the team's rough edges were finally sanded off.

And now that it's finally getting close to wrapping up, I feel like Season 7 can truly be labeled as one of the most fun, silly, enjoyable times in the entire channel's life - a greatest-hits of everything that makes SiIvaGunner great, althewhile feeling more sincere and proud of the internet it inhibits than it ever has before. And that does also include rips like 2023! YEAR OF THE PORTAL RADIO!: completely disconnected from any event, from any Hypercam 2 silliness, it is just a pure tribute to Nyan Cat and the Portal series - in other words, a tribute to the early internet meme-posting days of the late 2000s. The marriage of songs seems so obvious that its incredible it hadn't been done before, and its pretty much everything you could've ever expected the rip to be, even down to the absolutely perfect visuals on top.

Even though it's been that way for a long time now, there's still just something delightful about seeing a comment section completely that's just...completely void of all the forms of edgy hostility, void of that form of cynicism that was once so common to see online. Those people still exist out there, for sure, but I'm so proud that the SiIvaGunner community, scattered as we may be, at least appears to have grown up a bit, or at least grown up to be happier, more relaxed people. We're able to see a rip using two thoroughly outdated memes, Nyan Cat and the Portal Radio music, and not label it as overplayed, or as part of a cringier time in the internet, or what have you. And while its probably also due to nostalgia...I dunno, I just get a good feeling from SiIvaGunner nowadays. Not unlike 2023! YEAR OF THE PORTAL RADIO! itself, things simply feel very good right now :)

Ahh, thank you! 💖 I'm glad that you enjoy them that much. That's so flattering.

Anyway, I felt like this episode was a sweeter version of the season 3 premiere. Both episodes featured the citadel, went back to the Earth that Rick destroyed, wrapped up a cliffhanger, hopped around multiple dimensions and involved family dynamics. But the season 3 premiere was all about showing what a horrific monster Rick could be (OK, he was lying when he said he didn't care about Morty and Summer in that episode, but still.)

Conversely, the season 6 premiere is about showing a gentler, more affectionate Rick. He goes back for Morty and doesn't make up a bullshit (and mean) "explanation" like he did in season 3. He and Morty show each other genuine affection, although Rick still pulls back a little. We also get a protective Rick moment when he shields Morty with his body.

Even when he tries, yet again, to claim that he doesn't care about the family, Jerry dismisses him. They all know he's lying. He doesn't try to fight it, either.

Some other stuff I noticed:

Feral Jerry looked like Dan Harmon, lol. I wonder if that was intentional.

I liked how Beth and Space Beth argued, but it didn't come across as "lolz women are so catty and hate each other." They just had personality conflicts and got over it in the end.

Seeing Beth, Space Beth and Summer fighting together was awesome. Girls kicking ass.

One thing I disliked was how the episode wrapped up the season 5 cliffhanger in two minutes. I also had that problem with the season 3 premiere--the aliens (the Federation? I can't remember now) invading Earth left, and that was the end of it. I know this isn't a serialized show, but they could've done a lot with that.

I love the details of Rick pulling back when Morty tries to hug him and tensing when Summer hugs him. He does NOT like being touched. Makes sense for an autistic man (and he's obviously reserved in general.)

Feral Jerry was awful to Morty. Although I guess this is the same guy who basically agreed when Beth said she was happy that Morty and Rick were gone, so no surprise there. But damn, why did he yell at Morty? What happened was Rick's fault, not Morty's. He's a 14-year-old kid. This family really loves taking their shit out on him.

I did NOT expect so many trailer scenes to come from this episode. Totally thought the "cute" thing at the end was from something else, like the Rick and Jerry episode. I also thought that Rick fighting the robots would show up later this season. So we saw even less in the trailer than we thought we did.

What are they hiding from us? Damn. I love how we know nothing about this season.

Also, I guess it's canon now that Rick likes kawaii things, lol. He flat-out says that he picked it up because it was cute. Lolita dress! I want to see him in a lolita dress immediately.

This episode did a great job of showing while the family's learning to be a little nicer, they've still got a lot of issues and resent one another. Beth clearly isn't still thrilled about having kids.

Boy, I did NOT expect Murder Rick (or whatever we're calling him) to be "our" Morty's original Rick. I feel like I might've seen people theorize about that, though? It also makes it kind of strange that Rick destroyed Earth and hopped to another dimension, but maybe he was like "Eh, fuck it, he's not coming back."

I want to wrap this up by saying that I loved how this episode focused on Rick and Morty's dynamic while including the whole family. I was worried that the show was starting to lose sight of Rick and Morty, but their relationship was the heart of the episode.

Rick is still a hot mess, but he's healing and growing and I love him so much 💓

Best hairstyles in A:tLA

Just our personal favorites.

11 because why not: Mai. Her hair silhouette relembles a Japanese hairdo, which is a nice touch. Simple shapes and graceful lines really suit the character's shut-down attitude, her role of a obedient noble girl who always knows the rules. Could've make it to the top if it wasn't for the buns - they don't match her serious personality. If you don't have hairpins to throw, why do you need them at all?

10: Toph (in her noble look). An elegant hairdo; pretty elaborate to indicate her status but not too much. Also a great contrast to usual Toph's bun, which is less complicated and goes with bangs, because she doesn't need to keep her hair from her eyes anyway. Low position because Toph with this hairstyle is not "true" Toph.

9: Aang. A shaved head! This represents his beliefs and culture, which is great. We know there's not much of hair itself, but still :) Also, shaved head accompanied with a head tattoo - the boy has some style! Not a very high place, though, because it's not fancy enough :)

8: Long Feng. Traditional chinese long braid with shaved forehead, which makes the character look smart and mature. It differs Long Feng from other Earth Kingdom nobility or generals too.

7: Katara (seasons 1 and 2). Perfect hairdo for an action girl plus it's inuit-inspired and just looks really nice. So much better than her loose hair... (which should be way longer btw)

6: Sokka (seasons 1 and 2). Simple, elegant, unique. Season 1 shaved heads aesthetic. To be fair, this guy looks great with his hair both up and down.

5: Avatar Yangchen. Almost the same as the one Long Feng has but more loose, only the tip of her hair is braided; also the tattoo makes it look slightly different. Moreover – a woman with partly shaved head! It's pretty rare. Full of grace and yet simple. She really looks like a spiritual person!

4: Princess Yue. A combination of the moon goddess and inuit-like braids. It looks exotic, regal and is decorated a lot, which suits Yue's high position. Also the hair color is just gorgeous.

3: Prince Zuko (season 1). His hair transformation during the show is great but we like this phase the most. Not only it represents his defeat in the Agni Kai and suits his sometimes childish behavior but it also looks so unique! There are not many popular characters with such hairdo. Zuko looks almost alien, it opens his face, so we can immediately fall in love with his elegant features and expressions. The best shaved head of the first season :)

2 and 2: Lo and Li's official hairdo. Gosh, this is something. They look almost scary. We can guess they are noble or very high-ranked. Yes, maybe not the most beautiful ones but it definitely stands out. The more complicated – the better!

1: Aunt Wu. What a lady! All her look is Heian inspired, including her hair. It shows us her status and her wealth. Plus the headpiece. Plus this majestic gray. Plus the braid on the back! Absolute winner.

Update: it's not a braid, it's a low ponytail, but still.

Yes, braids and shaved heads are the best :)

Bonus: Ta Min's bridal hairstyle. Doesn't add more to the character, since we already are told that she is highborn and is getting married in this scene but is still beautiful and epic.
