people seem to be upset about toni saying “i don’t think there’s any one thing you could do differently that would replace the feeling he gets from having a father” and i don’t think it’s that shocking of a thing for her to say? for one thing, that’s how her generation was raised, and that’s not a mindset you can just get rid of, especially if you’re not seeing it as an issue. and ultimately, what’s the most important thing here is what hen and karen do as denny’s parents, which yes they let nathanial keep seeing him, but very specifically on THEIR terms and based on THEIR trust in him, and because it clearly is something DENNY wants. HE wants to know his father and have that relationship. how well would it go for them to bar them completely from seeing each other? i do not at all agree with how nathanial and denny went behind hen and karen’s backs, but i also don’t think it was done to spite them or imply that they aren’t good enough parents without a father figure in the picture

So, on April 5, I drove all the way to St. Petersburg to attend the Wilson Van concert. Of course, I went early cause of traffic, and the drive was almost two hours long. But it was so worth it.

This was my first time seeing the band and, yes I will admit, I went to see it mainly because of Patrick Wilson. I did do research of the band and really admire the charity the band does from their concerts and auctions. It really made me admire the band.

Before my drive, I wanted to give the band support, mainly the Wilsons. So, I made a poster that said “Sing Your Hearts Out Wilsons” and drew their van logo on it. I didn’t care if they don’t see it or not. I just wanted to do it for them.

Anyway, I made it to the location and I was sitting on the second floor, far right side. I was ready, got my sign and everything. And, when the concert started, I had no idea how into it I would be.

The concert was so much fun. Even when I was unfamiliar with the songs, I still danced and screamed during their performances. Everyone on stage did an amazing job. The Wilsons were fantastic. And Patrick Wilson, I could go on for days on how absolutely incredible and talented he was. Not only could he sing (beautifully, I might add), but he can also play the drums, play the guitar, and the harmonica. What other talents he has I don’t know about? I’m telling you, he keeps surprising me!

During the entire concert, I held my poster sign out, hoping a little bit that they would see it. And you know what, only one of them did. And it was Patrick Wilson! When he saw my sign during a song, I held it out further so he could read it, and he gave me a thumbs up. I was so ecstatic!

And, once the concert was over, I was surprised when the Wilsons said they were going to mingle with the floor audience for a while. So, I went to the floor, where the music was playing and people there were dancing along to it. I danced along too, especially with the other people there. It was great!

The first Wilson I encountered was Paul Wilson. He was great on stage singing and dancing. I showed him my poster sign and he loved it, giving me a hug. I got a picture of us and we talked a bit before we moved on.

I later found out, rather humorously, that Patrick Wilson had a line to greet him. So, I got in line as well. When it was my turn, he recognized my sign and thanked me for it and my support, giving me a hug. He was so sweet! We took a picture of us, we talked a bit, and I left so another could have a turn with him.

Finally, I met Mark Wilson. He was extremely outstanding on the guitar on stage. I showed him my sign and he loved it as well. We hugged, we talked, and we took a photo. By the time we said our goodbyes, I was starting to get tired and wanted to save my energy for my ride home. So I left. And it was past 11pm.

I had such an amazing time at the concert and I hope I’ll be able to go to there next one, whenever that will be. I will always remember that concert and meeting the Wilson Van. Especially Patrick Wilson. It was so incredible and I wish the absolute best for the Wilson Van.
