It’s the only reason I wake up and go back to sleep at night tbh…

But more seriously? Yeah, I’m stoked.

NewJeans has been putting out some of the most thought-provoking and truly creative media pieces I’ve ever seen in k-pop. Like, man, if NewJeans is what happens when the creative mind of Min Heejin isn’t stifled by Lee Sooman, Yoo Youngjin, and the other male suits at SM who have such a tight chokehold on everything coming out of that company, then we all have one more reason to thank providence for our good fortune.

Every. Single. Song. in their discography is a bop and a half. The creative direction and execution in both Ditto and OMG MVs is one for the books. There isn’t a single girl group that is doing what they’re doing right now despite all the clones and concept/aesthetic redirections we’ve seen since NewJeans debuted.

NMIXX has shelved their mixpop sound a la O.O and TANK for now, going by their latest comeback. They moved to a more easy-listening poppy sound.

I lost count of all the SM stans in my GC asking where the hell Kwangya went in Aespa’s last comeback. It seemed they too shifted their aesthetic to a more casual (and less meta forward) expression of their overall concept.

As a few examples.

They can try to borrow or apply a vibe here, a Y2K outfit theme there, and chill-hop sound for half the album there, and still NewJeans seems like the most authentic expression of what they are.

And that alone is incredibly rare for a girl group less than a year old. NewJeans has crafted a definitive sound identity. If someone says a song sounds like NewJeans, everyone knows what they mean, most people like all their songs, and yet none of the songs in their small discography sound the same way.

And so, yes I’m excited. But, because this is k-pop and I’ve seen this movie before, I’m even more curious to see what fantastic reveals and ‘I don’t know if it’s just me…’ takes that will fuel the hate train this time.

(I mean, k-pop stans are nothing if not predictable and I bet you your left kneecap they’ve found their next favourite boogeyman in the NJ-MHJ-HYBE connection)

That nasty business during The Little Mermaid promotions was sad to see. The fact Danielle got hate from Korean k-pop stans for taking the role (after she auditioned for it mind you), and then Western k-pop stans claimed the racist comments from Korean forums towards Halle were from NewJeans stans (never mind it was posted on a page with the same people hating on Danielle)… that was a kind of low I hadn’t seen in a long while.

There’s a special sort of depravity I’ve observed in k-pop stans, and nothing brings it out quicker than a highly anticipated comeback from a well-loved group that everyone was supposed to hate.

So, yeah. Fun times ahead.

TMI, I once went as Miss Sara Bellum to a corporate Halloween party. The outfit was a fan favourite with the guys and gals and I landed three deals for my team that night, but I’m not certain it was worth it. My fro took weeks to recover from the bleach and hair dye. In fact, 3/10. Would not recommend.

Anyway,

Jungkook will be releasing his EP in July/August as well, and I’m praying to the gods for Itzy’s sake that JYP finally know what they’re doing when they comeback around that time too.

Although spotify does it for you, i think it’s better to make your own music-year-review list. I want to share a few songs (and maybe a few words about them too) that have inspired, helped, impressed or spoke to me. This is also a very light personal year-review.

No particular order!

Every Day is Halloween by Ministry

Obviously, listened to this constantly in October but really works any day of the year, the message gets me going. Moving away from my parents and my hometown that very October, I felt free as all hell, free to be who I want to be, dress how I want to dress (or at least try!), it makes me want to fight for my skin :

I exclusively listen to music from an MP3 player when I’m out, fuck smartphones :))))))))), so the story of this: downloaded this whole album to my MP3 player for my trip to Greece this summer because I’d be out a lot, was just curious about ska punk, never listened to it before. And yeah, I fell in love with this, and Capdown. I listen to this when I’m on a rush always, gets me flying! (Yeah, nothing beats running and panicking about being late to an appointment to this)

Can’t recommend Swans early stuff enough! And the new stuff as well. Could swap this for Power for Power on Filth as well. Really good mechanic beats and cold lyrics, walking through a city as lively as it is decayed to this feels just right. A great inspiration for what I’d like to achieve with my music.

I quite enjoy (love with a burning passion) this album for the most part, I don’t listen to drum n’ bass on it’s own but, the metal combo to me hits just perfect. I think this song has the perfect amount of agression, melancholy, explosive distortion, and the best whiney guitar ever! I swear I can hear words of lament in that guitars voice… it’s awesome. It’s a very good song to drown out the noise of the Subway…

This album as a whole. My anxieties and anticipations for the future, my nostalgia and existential terror, agitated into soundwaves. Listening to this, on a suffocating late August afternoon while driving, feels like a thousand spent lifetimes.

I listened to this on easily one of the most emotionally charged days of my life. I was on a car trip across the country, it really hits different with neverending crop fields and rural sights and abandoned factories… For more context about the song, it’s a mockery of the former communist regime, the singer is posing as the dictator, singing about a carefree land preparing for winter, in which “everything is wonderful” and “perfect”.

This is a commuting staple. An industrial rock banger! I think the sound is easy to get into, good for guitars, good for the dance floors, a perfect combo. A fair bit of Machines of Loving Grace songs hooked me instantly.

Absolute dance staple. Strapped it to a wall in the hall of dancing-with-your-last-breath.

I had a panic attack while driving to this, on a bridge. That was an exciting time. I was going to the beach. In the winter. All the vibes were off that day, but in the best way possible. And this song took them all, it’s preserving them like alcohol. Oh also, saw a guy at the gym near my house that had a HEALTH tshirt and I was like, yoo, cool! Because really, rarely do you see people with taste here hah.

One of my industrial fascinations. Not exactly the eye opener (I’ll have that guy show up later), but my, sound has never felt so powerful and it’s not even booming-lound. I highly suggest listening this surround, but even stereo, it’s such a disorienting, enveloping experience.

You know how sometimes the musicians music only gets better the bigger their heartbreaks are?

N how some only get better when theyre poorer n have no clout so they have a lot of proving to do?

You would expect much more from the dude who got the biggest record deal from Columbia Records (while locked up in jail too) which is bdydgsgshooof insane but so's his first EP. So that was well deserved, he was so promising then.

With every new release, its mostly meh material ( a few was cool, but nothing off tbe charts). Its obvious that hes jaded af with fame, drugs, n sex because he talks about it extensively in his music. Whatever tho cause really I think you can still rock it, but the most staggering thing is, that theres nothing profound about the way he phrases those things. Its just another dude lost in LA.

Theres no wisdom, wit or whatever csuse he aint lookin for it in the first place.

Theres also not much consistency n overall coherence to his songs or verses too, like hed have a really good opening lines for Cancel Me 🔥, n then the rest is just meh. Bruh come on naw, you can defo do better. Write a better twist, insert a little wisdom in the bridge maybe, write something poetic, do chord changes, whatever, yoo.

Issa shame la because I think everyone saw him as this huge hit making kid whos gonna pump out $$$$$ with his gifts, but naw MF goes around doing hard drugs (hes very open about it too), ends up being wayy too hazy to even write anything better than what he used to.

I usually never would perscribe a lifestyle of chasing girls or ppl in general, but in this case yeah. Its clear that his best stuff or attention or MUSE are GIRLS.

Also, its weird as hell tht drugs n excess are making creativity run dry like that since soo many of the worlds best songs are made with the influence. O.O

MY FAVE MEMBER. is. no surprise. SONG JIHYO. aka goddess and best at everything. i think i’m very drawn to personalities that always dominate n come out on top. jihyo isn’t really known for being the ace of running man anymore but in my heart she always is :( i also am a HUGE fan of her goddess of luck image like she isn’t as crazily lucky these days bc kwangsoo (icon of misfortune) is gone but if anything makes me believe in supernatural like. the concept of LUCK being a real force in the universe it would be because of her. the way she overcomes odds n comes out on top despite being a bit of an underdog in many situations is SO hot to me. here’s some pictures of her

she’s like. u know how george is like effortlessly pretty despite being just so idc about it? yeah thats HER like she doesn’t give a shit she just wakes up rolls out of bed n goes to work. she falls asleep everywhere too. one time they played giant jenga and one of them had to be on top of the jenga as a ‘risk’ for the jenga tower dying n at the time running man was 6 men 1 woman (her) and they asked her to do it bc they were all scared n she’s the bravest member (she once bungee jumped off a 233m tall building to HELP one of them she literally didnt have to either she just went WEEEEE they all worship the ground she walks on out of respect shes just so cool)

ANYWAY FAVE EP…. there are so many. i swear to god. but if i were to recommend episodes to start w i’d say the superpowers episode? when they all had superpowers n had to fight to the death (ep74) and the second yoomes bond ep (ep91, i LOVE yoo jaesuk my beloved nation’s mc), the princess race ep (ep103), n park jisung soccer eps (95, 96, 97) OH FUCK THE ZOMBIE EP WHEN THEY WERE IN HIGH SCHOOL WAS FUCKING SICK TOO (ep98) and like uhhhh the baseball ep!! (ep119) and i’ll stop here bc the second people realize i have many episode numbers memorized i’ll look like a crazy person

BUT TO BE FAIR running man is the most popular korean variety show ever these mfs are straight up like A KPOP GROUP. they’ve held fan meetings which r straight up CONCERTS they sing dance etc etc they’re CRAZY u don’t GET IT they are a PHENOMENON,,, jackie chan was on this show RYAN REYNOLDS N TOM CRUISE WERE ON THIS SHOW

running man is literally what happens if u put a bunch of singers, actors, and comedians together n made them do crazy shit (literally everything under the sun has happened on running man. name anything PG. they prob did it on running man) AND THEY BECAME A FOUND FAMILYYYY and its so funny

i think joongki is so sweet n my beloved but i think ultimately him leaving helped the RM dynamic tighten up?? n it improved bc of it?? idk tho maybe itd be just as good if he stayed. i also was a tiny bit upset when gary left n it hurt the show for a while :( gary was so funny but also I HATE MONDAY COUPLE. FUCK MONDAY COUPLE IT TRAPPED JIHYO FOR SO LONG I HATED THAT SHIT. like its so crazy too bc imo they should never have had a loveline but if anything… do it w jongkook the one guy whos actually hot n has enough chemistry w her? they literally were called a ‘power duo’ all the time like brooooo i was so oppressed for liking their dynamic :( BUT HAHAHAHAHAH NOW JONGKOOK N JIHYO R FLIRTING ON THE SHOW ITS SO FUNNYYYY like yaaaassss straightbaiting 😍 its so funny too like there were times when monday couple was a Thing so the other members couldn’t “ship” other pairings but sometimes jongkook n jihyo would be so sus that they couldn’t help BUT say something u know but NOW ALL THE MEMBERS ARE FREE. yoo jaesuk risks his life every week to ship them and the others LOVE to fucking tease them

also kwangsoo leaving made me really sad but his injuries were too bad for him to risk his body every week like that :( all the members have slipped disks n severe back problems because of all the ways they hurt themselves making the show :( i hope kwangsoo comes back to guest soon tho like hes not Permanently gone the way gary is like gary straight up refuses to ever be on running man ever again LOL

also i like somin and sechan :D i admit i do prefer old running man dynamics but the current family is v cozy!! i think their loveline is sweet but i also think its HILARIOUS how the members mostly jaesuk don’t “care” as much about it like in that well get together sure but what we’re REALLY here to do is make fun of jongkook n jihyo ^_^ like they r cute its sweet ALSO somin being added is SO good bc YAY more than one woman also THEIR DYNAMIC IS SO CUTE like anyone remember that time they sabotaged each other in the game where they were competing by kissing each other?? good times

sorry for talking so much running man is literally one of my fave shows EVER n it hasn’t ended despite being a weekly show thats been running since 2010 (theres like over 500 episodes i KNOW im INSANE) like bro at the peak of my hyperfixation on this show I LEARNED THE FUCKING KOREAN LANGUAGE SO I COULD WATCH IT LIVE WHEN IT AIREDDDDD IM CRAZY FR

Shows I've watched in 2021 pt 2

These are the shows that I watched and finished.... but man do I fucking regret doing that now for a lot of them. Often the show shat the bed or i just watched it and wasted my time and I should have just dropped it. There are some in here that I feel mostly blah about, that I finished mostly because i was heavily skipping through :(

The Veil - Nam Goong Min got *really* buff and roughed up for this one. And I like action-y shows and they made the smart decision not to make it 16 eps, but man, the mystery and writing was so blah, the plot points so forseeable and while I appreciate Nam Goong Min really transforming himself he also just got stuck in "Badass Mofo" mode and it kinda felt like I was seeing him struggle to act like that. I gave it a 6.5 bc he does try very hard and with 12 episodes and some skipping it's not a total chore.

The Silent Sea - Gong Yoo and Bae Doona doing a short Scifi show? Sign me tf up, AND Lee Joon is also there. The cast was fuckig stellar, but uh there were supposed to be smart people on the station and it *really* really didnt feel like there were. For plot convenience everyone got to be an idiot at least for some time and I honestly think that it would have been better off as a movie because some plot threads felt very "red headed stepchild". Plus as a movie I possibly wouldn't have started wondering how the presentation of the premise and the premise as a whole even work... 7/10 because the acting is good, the cgi is also pretty good and I wanna support scifi stuff and I'm maybe giving it a bump for Gong Yoo and Bae Doona that it doesn't quite deserve.

The Tasty Florida and You Make Me Dance - two outings from Koreas recent push into BL content that are blessedly short but also don't really offer anything new and the acting and writing is suspect at best sometimes. Thankfully both are blessedly short, so it's not like I wasted a lot of time. They both get 6.5 stars but I think YMMD does have better acting than TTF.

Hellbound - For a 6 episode show it sure knew how to tank after only 3 eps, I mean damn. Yoo Ah In sells his role pretty well, as is expected of him, but the shoddy CGI monsters just feel hilarious and weird and not scary. While I do think that the opening is very well done the tension just starts to bleed out and Kim Hyun Joo's character get's to be a badass... but also how? I mean I'm glad she got to kick ass but I just felt like the latter half expected me to just go with it in a way that made me go "uhhh nah". 7/10 but honestly only bc I did enjoy the first half the latter half is like a 4.5

LUCA: The Beginning - OH MY GOD where to fucking start with this show. 8 eps of all I wanted and then it just lobotomises Lee Da Hee's character and then the ending is just the fucking cherry on the shit sundae. I was honestly *really* vibing with the way this show was using its athmosphere to sell its story, and even the (completely nonsense lyric) OST song was a fucking banger and Kim Rae Won was great in the role, but my god the writing. The writing is the block of cement around the shoes of this drama, dragging it to its death. This plus the next entry really made me wary of livewatching anything in 2021 because christ. It gets 6.5 stars only because the first 8 eps were pretty much 9-10/10 for me and so strong but the last 4 eps are like a 2/10 at most.

Mr. Queen - Fuck this show and the homophobic horse it rode in on. 19 eps where Shin Hye Sun gets to deliver the role of a lifetime, just nailing every single beat and doing the silly (and very funny) humor with a gusto that is rarely seen, plus a slow developing romance between a king and his queen who changed so radically but finally also sees him for who he is, plus the show even had the king let go of his first love in a way that felt organic and believable. The bad guys were a bit eh, but the show was being hard carried by SHS acting her heart out as the modern cook Bong Hwan now caught in the body of a woman in the past. The slow emotional connection that Bong Hwan built up with the king was a highlight of the show for me and I really felt like they had captured the essence of the cdrama original, but well then ep 20 happened, well specifically the latter half and the show thrust me and its general audience the middle finger and expected me to believe the genuine connection between the king and Bong Hwan (who was influenced by the previous' souls feelings which I will believe) was... pretty much all the previous soul who was just hanging around in the body and when it came to ~skinship she came back out and it went pretty much uncommented in the latter half of the show.... Yeah no, I could write a wholeass rant why the show did not earn the ending it gave me. 3/10 only because I really liked the show previous to the ending.

The Uncanny Counter - This show is not as bad as the previous 2 entries, but the plot really wasn’t made for 16 episodes. The main character really began to grate on me and I felt like the villain(s) only got by for so long because the script demanded that our protagonists turn into idiots. I didn’t mind the found family stuff, in fact that was ace but I was also not really into the way the show struggled to make it work, because the main character had a life outside the found family. Once again the writing wasnt really strong enough to support it during its entire run and while it didnt shit the bed as badly as the previous entries this drama should have been 12 episodes at most. 7/10 but a very low 7 I’d say.

Dali and the cocky prince - Another show I felt struggled to support its 16 episode run, plus the ~mystery and plot was paper thin. I also found Dali as a character to be wholly frustrating (not to mention her hair) and Moo Hak really was making me cringe in second hand embarassment a lot. I did like their shenanigans and their romance was cute and the characters do feel like they belong with each other but theirs just wasnt a story that didnt vibe with mine. I felt myself nodding along with the “traitor” in the gallery more often than not because Dali really seemed like she had her head in the clouds to a lot of things and I guess rich airheads just don’t do it for me. 6.5/10

Squid Game - The drama that took the world by storm... for some reason. I’m a big fan of death game type stories and netflix put out Alice in Borderland last year which I loved (for the most part) but SG is just fucking stupid and everyone in it is an idiot. The hype about it didnt help, but I watched it before it became a Global Phenomenon so it’s not like that influenced my opinions. The fact that *none* of the hundreds of participants (other than I guess the best friend antagonist) thought about how to game the system seems mind-boggling to me. Coupled with the fact that there are only 3 very simple rules for each game and they’re always the same and they are literally shut in place with nothing to think about the rules and the games I would have liked some more ingenuity. Plus the games were kinda eh and then the last episode was terrible and turned Gi Hoon into a fucking asshole and still expected me to like him and I was like no thank you. I will not be watching the sequel since I doubt the writer has the chops to course correct if this is what SG looks like after he’s been thinking about it for 10 years. 5/10

Move to Heaven - This one wanted to be a big tearjerker and I have a big soft spot for Lee Je Hoon, but other than one episode (the first one iirc) none of the plots moved me even as I felt the writing desperately trying to tug at my heartstrings. Maybe it’s because I have the stellar Tatortreiniger a German half hour comedy as a comparison, where the poignancy is only ever hinted at and the script just full of gags that only creep up on you because in the end, cleaning up after a dead person is just a job. It can be moving, it can be touching but often it’s a bit mundane and the comedy is about that. Idk I guess I just like that view of it a lot more (Go watch Tatortreiniger if you can!) 6/10

Mad for Each Other - Well Netflix says I finished this. I don’t remember doing that. I do remember that I liked the way it treated trauma (in the beginning) and the way that two very damaged people could heal each other but then it began feeling rote and boring and that’s where I lost interest I guess. 5/10 because I can’t really rate sth I don’t remember all that well.

13 shows I finished, where I really hated 2 of them another 2 I had some big issues with/forgot halfway through that I watched them and the rest are watchable I guess but with big caveats. *sigh*

2021 april rewind.

music.

‘all yours’ ep by astro. my boys did not hold back. this album has superior b-sides. the vibe of this one is stellar and i am continually blown away by their vocals. some of my fave tracks include ‘dear my universe’, ‘all good’, and ‘all stars.

‘spider’ by hoshi of SVT. woah. this track appeared out of nowhere. it is up there with kai’s ‘mmmh’, they eat together at lunch kind of thing. the choreo is so unique and never been done before. loved it.

kimsejeong. ‘whale’ and ‘warning’ have been on repeat. i love her vocals and the fresh vibe that these songs possess.

‘drunk dazed’ by enhypen. this comeback was something else. i loved this track. have not really been invested in enhypen, like i listened to their title track ‘given-taken’, but was not awaiting this comeback. but my goodness, this track made me want to listen and watch all their choreos. this was a great comeback, and i loved this track and choreography.

‘after school’ by weeekly. it’s a bop simple fact.

‘in the morning’ by itzy. well this originally was not a fave, but as with most jyp girl group tracks after a listen or two it becomes absolutely addictive, and that is the same with ‘in the morning’. they did good, and it was an unexpected feeling for itzy, because it is typically a fresh pop beat, but this one was on the opposite spectrum. i am excited to see where this will take itzy in the future.

drama & movies *spoiler alert*

hi, me! this was an incredible gem. i would definitely give it a watch. it was sweet, quirky, humorous, and heartfelt. we follow bahn ha-ni, a woman moving through the motions of life in an unstable job. she stumbles upon her past younger self. the younger bahn ha-ni challenges her, offering a fresh perspective that she hasn’t seen in a long time. with her new outlook, we follow ha-ni as she pursues new goals and guides her younger self back to the past. of course we meet a young man, han yoon-hyun, who appears to not have any ambitions, but is just navigating life in his own way. of course in the traditional drama way, turns out they had an encounter as younger children. we also come to find that ha-ni blames herself for her father’s passing, because he saved her and pushed her out of the way of an oncoming car. the younger ban ha-ni was sent by him, and one of the quotes i loved was this:

my life has been completely ruined, and dad wanted to remind of how i used to be. he wanted to tell me that through you. he wanted to show how radiant…we were.

we love it and we stan. overall loved this one and would rate it a 9 out of 10.

navillera. this was another incredible drama. the rollercoaster of emotions. the tears shed, it was incredible piece of art. it’s so bittersweet to say goodbye to this cast of characters. i would 10 out of 10 recommend. deok-chool is a 70-something year old man who is recently retired, and he had previously been unable to pursue his dream of ballet. now he decided to pursue that dream and making it a reality. he meets chae-rok. this young man’s heart for ballet has begun to fade and then he is met with the task of teaching this gentleman ballet. through this odd turn of events, a beautiful friendship starts to blossom. we also come to find that the reason deok-chool is adamant about pursuing dance is because it helps his memories stay fresh, because we come to find that he has alzheimers, which literally hit me like a truck because i did not see that coming. song kang’s performance of this character was stunning. from the ballet to the heart of the character, he embodied him. and the gentle, park in-hwan, did a fantastic job. portrayed a strong man finally finding piece with a dream he struggled for years to pursue. so incredibly proud of him finding himself and then being able to find a new friendship in the midst of his grief. favorite moments: the scene when chae-rok desperately danced to have deok-chool’s memories return to him because he wrote how seeking chae-rok dance brought his memories back. tears were truly shed. and then when deok-chool said, ‘did you soar?’ when he saw chae-rok for the first time at the train track, after he had been away on the global stage.

how to be thirty. this was an interesting one and the plot didn’t go where i thought it would go. like the main dude, seung-yoo lied like a lot, and ji-won lost her job because he was trash. and the two girls he messed with were angry at each other, where in reality shouldn’t they have been angry with him for keeping this secret from them? like he started seeing ji-won while he was technically in a relationship with hye-ryung who he shouldn’t have been in a relationship with in the first place. hye-ryung was holding on to him and she was kinda crazy, but he should have been honest up front with what was happening. and he broke up with her before it spiraled. i really hope our ji-won is happy with the director dude because she deserves it, and deserves a real man who won’t mess with her. honestly, the second lead couple saved this show, ran-joo the radio show host and the young man, joon-young; because seung-yoo and ji-won’s relationship wasn’t it. i would rate this a 5.5 out of 10, because the plot just wasn’t it for me. the acting was good, but the characters were awful.

please don’t date him. this was a short interesting web drama. we follow ji-sung a programmer for an appliance team. she stumbles upon developing a refrigerator that distinguishes bad men. she is able to help the ladies around her who are confronted by horrible men. she then becomes involved with a firefighter kook-hee, but he is struggling with his past. honestly, this was a nice drama, and i am glad that i stumbled upon this one. i loved kook-he’s character and the way in which he wanted to protect those around him, and that he finally learned that he was able to accept love from those around him. they were so sweet ji-sung and kook-hee. i also loved her little trio of ladies and even though they all had different goals they came together to support one another. i would rate it an 8 out of 10.

vincenzo. y’all i loved every freaking minute of this. we meet the mafia lawyer, vincenzo casino, who comes to korea to pick up some gold but gets caught up with cha-young. she needs to avenge the death of her father, and the unjust situations around her. babel a horrible company with shady dealings is at the center of it all. and it all unfolds from there. many, like many plot twists ensue. unexpected characters. it is insanely funny, terrifying, and all the emotions in between. it was a satisfying watch i’d rate it a 12 out of 10 recommend.

The episode that took the Couple Race theme welcome the arrival of many beautiful and cute guest stars. One of them is Jeon Somin who will then become the latest member of Running Man. Episode 334 is Kim Jongkook Week. Where the Running Man members have to help Jongkook while he is having a romantic date with a girl. They also perform various games that will help determine the fate of Jongkook blind date trip. The concept is really touching and easy to “digest” and such romance is needed for the vivid viewer of Running Man, since the Monday Couple have separated, the romance was so lacking throughout the episodes, this particular episode at least give us a break and add more dynamic toward the concept of member’s week.

In the episode of this new year’s edition, the Running Man members are getting their prediction about their lives in 2017. Not only that, their health is also checked through the condition of their eyes. This is the usual concept that has been repeated like two or three times before, the funny part of these New Year episodes is when the members get the answer about their luck for that year which of course varied. This is also the first time Song Jihyo and Kim Jongkook is coupled in a romantic way.

What I like the most from this episode is the adaptability of the members of Super Junior which make even a simple game hugely interesting. Super Junior and Red Velvet became Guest in episode 376. Not only they did come in complete personnel. It turns out that one of the members of Suju, Eunhyuk is a friend from the same elementary school as Jeon Somin. There are also a lot of funny stories between them. The closeness of Somin and Eunhyuk make Donghae jealous and this kind spark is what keeps this episode interesting.

Running Man once again took the theme of Couple Race but this time with much more guest. There’s even an extra 2 male guest, Jo Se-ho and Sung Hoon. Meaning there are 8 pairs in total. So do not be surprised if this episode took 2 episodes. Even for its opening alone spend half the episode. The guest stars are asked to show his or her talents. Sunmi is definitely featuring with the famous dance of Ganshina. Well, Jo Seho as always gets tricked by Yoo Jaesuk. Not only that Jo Seho who is paired with Song Jihyo always get scolded and even beaten.

This is one of the episode of Global Race where Jeon Somin and Kwangsoo have to undergo their punishment in Indonesia or precisely in Gunung Kidul Jogjakarta. They have to cross toward the fishing island using a cable car made by the coastal residents of Pantai Timang which is made with Wood and several strings connected to each other. This whole episode features Somin and Kwangsoo. The members have to guess what they are doing and the result of the action. Kwangmin couple’s moments will also make us laughed and melted here.

In this episode, the members were asked to collect items to fill a house which later will become their base camp. Starting from the sofa, carpet, mattress, to the toilet. They had to borrow or ask for many items from their fellow celebrities, from Cha Taehyun, Kim Dong Wook, to Park Bo Gum. This episode is really exciting for me because each member get their airtime almost equally and all of the moments created are super funny.

Continuing the theme of Global Race, this time Running Man visit Japan to get serve the sentence in the Ghost House. Unfortunately, Kwangsoo must serve the punishment by himself. While Somin went through it with Yoo Jae Suk and Ji Suk Jin served his “adventure” with Yang Se Chan. Lots of funny and thrilling scenes we go from this episode like VJ of Ji Sukjin who fled in fear and left his camera behind.

Well, Haha’s special episode is the best among the others. Haha has been known as a hesitant type of personality and wishy-washy with the choices available. In this episode, Haha will always be told to choose between two members who are prepared to undergo a punishment. Like Lee Kwangsoo or Ji Sukjin who will be thrown into the air with a giant ball. Or Kim Jongkook (eating high calories food) and Song Jihyo (touch insects). And the twist was Haha didn’t plan this episode but other members did this as the gift for Haha’s second child which had made Haha want to run away due to the shameful feeling.

Episode 372 can be categorized as to be one episode with the best Twist of 2017 or perhaps one of the best Twist in Running Man history. Early on, the member saw a video of Lee Kwangsoo who was talking with two mysterious people. Kwangsoo is upset about who he has takes to undergo the punishment in Australia. Well, you will be really shocked by what happened at the end. Usually, we’ll see Jeon Somin making a loveline with Kwangsoo or any male single guest but in this episode Jeon Somin create a romantic moment with Kim Jongkook. Like when somin act as a girlfriend of Kim Jongkook.

Last part of Global Race Project last of 2017 where Running Man members are divided into 2 groups. Lee Kwangsoo’s team which consist Jeon Somin, Ji Sukjin and Yoo Jaesuk flew to Australia and Kim Jongkook’s team consist of Haha, Song Jihyo, and Yang Sechan visited New Zealand. This is the second part because it has previously aired in Episode 378. If in the previous episode 378 (Team Australia) is stealing the attention, during this episode Team New Zealand became the star. Obviously, because this team offers cuteness and tension. Where Haha and Sechan had vomited before getting on the swing and the best moments when Song Jihyo and Kim Jongkook take on the Nevis Swing with the upside position.

Running Man’s blockbuster scenes frequently have a lot of rushes, chills and enough twist on the story to keep watchers oblivious until the last minute. This scene; highlighting apparitions from Running University, took the great Running Man blockbuster scene to another level with a sudden wind that left the individuals reeling, as well as the gathering of people. You wouldn’t have any desire to miss this scene, including incredible part science and collaborations, and a splendid storyline that will keep you snared until the finish of the race.

Still a continuation of episode 346, this 347 episode has three teams, namely Osaka team, Taipei team, and Jeju-do team. They have to buy souvenirs in those places. The team that has the heaviest souvenirs will win this mission. The scale of the mission is huge and Jang Do Yeon helps create smooth episode especially during the trip to Jeju-do. Overall this episode is a good one as the new member looks fluid enough to gel with the original member of Running Man.

This episode centers around the Running Man individuals gunning to be the beneficiary to Running Airline’s affluent director. As basic as it is an idea, the scene is made more troublesome by the beneficiaries; feisty and brimming with shocks. This present scene’s quality likewise originates from the last mission, an unofficial ID tearing mission in which the individuals need to battle against each other to be the beneficiary. There’s an immense twist towards the end which you presumably won’t see it coming either.

Special Christmas episode on Running Man, for the most part, have an amazing quality of esteem, however, to keep in accordance with the current year’s Running Man subject of wanders aimlessly, the PD have thought of yet another blockbuster scene including apparitions, vindictive spirits, and people. You’d most likely never observe Christmas similarly again. A note, the main portion of the scene tends to delay somewhat more, yet the real race is where the place of fun is.

Other members choose to take their friends. But before the guests come out they tell the habits of each member. Like Haha who once vent on and wanted to gang up Kim Jongkook. All agreed that the star in this episode is Haha’s friend Park Geun-shik and Jo Seho. Geunsik with his innocence often makes Haha angry while Jo Se Ho always gets teased by Yoo Jaesuk. But Tae Hang-ho (Friends of Kwangsoo) also take much of the airtime while trying the high voice game.

On episode 346, the new member Jeon So-min and Yang Se-chan start joining permanently as a cast member. Here we will be getting stomachache because of their hilarious behavior, especially from the new member! This time there are three teams that compete to win. They must successfully undergo a mission if not, the will be given a horrible penalty. It might not be the funniest, but this episode becomes the turning point of the new era of Running Man. Thus, we see this episode as the fundamental episode of Running Man in 2017.

The Bridge

Introduction

Since I personally don't know the N flying members well, this blog is based on the perception of most of the other fellow fans I know. I will also be giving a short description on both the band and the anime series,

N flying is a South Korean rock band formed under FNC entertainment in 2013, the group had released its first digital indie single "Basket" in Japan on October 1 2013, the group debuted in Korea on May 20 2015, with their first EP including the lead single "Awesome". The group currently consists of the following members:-

Lee Seunghyub (Leader, vocalist, main rapper, rhythm guitarist), Cha Hoon (Lead guitarist, sub vocalist), Kim Jaehyun (Drummer), Yoo Hweseung (Lead vocalist) and Seo Dongsung (Bassist, Maknae).

Given is the anime which is based on the manga of the same name by Natsuki Kizu, the story follows around the lives of Ritsuka Uenoyama and his bandmates. One fine day Uenoyama comes across Mafuyu Sato who was sleeping on his favorite napping spot with a broken guitar, being desperate to defend his napping spot, Uenoyama decides to repair the broken guitar after which Mafuyu, being impressed, tries to persuade him several times to teach him to play the guitar, to which Uenoyama reluctantly agrees. After hearing Mafuyu's singing voice, Uenoyama was deeply moved by it and decides to recruit Mafuyu in his band as the lead vocalist, but Mafuyu's tragic past is holding him back.

Hiiragi is described as a sweet guy who deeply cares for his friends, and as a leader, Seughyub is quite caring towards the rest of his bandmates, and sometimes for his fans when needed, like he had once saved one of his fans from a creepy stalker, because of their caring nature, both of them have a tendency to worry too much about others, after Mafuyu goes away and Shizusumi comes to comfort Hiiragi, he opens up about not being able to stop worrying, in one of the recent statement by Seunghyub where he wrote about being exhempted from his mandatory military service, he sounded quite apprehensive because, he was probably worried about offending his fans. One of the most prominent trait shared by both Hiiragi and Seunghyub is their "needy" nature, the fans often joke about how needy Seunghyub is for his younger members' affection. In Hiiragi's case, he seemed quite needy towards Mafuyu, because we often see him trying to meet Mafuyu over and over and talk to him, since he was quite desperate for Mafuyu's forgiveness.

Finally both of them are well known for nagging others, we see Hiiragi nagging Mafuyu from time to time, and Seunghyub is well known as the "King of Scolding" among the members and the fans alike.

Cha Hun as Ritsuka Uenoyama

At first glance, Uenoyama seemed like someone who is serious, aloof and the most "normal" member of his band, and this is usually the new fans' first impression of Hoon because, like Uenoyama he is pretty much of a grumpy cat and both of them can be quite scary at times. They are both described to be quite lazy, we see Uenoyama dozing off from time to time and let's not forget that he found Mafuyu at his favorite spot where he SLEEPS, as for Hoon we often see him mentioning that he hates to work out despite claiming to be athletic as a teen (this also reminds me of the fact that Uenoyama is in the basketball team, but we don't get to see him play that much), however they are both quite passionate towards their respective bands as the lead guitarists (both of them are highly skilled guitarists). Despite being a "cold" person we see Uenoyama warming up, showing his real, affectionate side as the story progresses. This also reminds me of Hoon because, he is actually quite soft and affectionate as well, especially towards his cat Romang and his bandmates.

Kim Jaehyun as Yuki Yoshida

If I really have to describe both of these young men in one word, it would be A Ray Of Sunshine, Yuki is described to be a really loud, cheerful guy who always seemed happy and is loved by everyone, these words can also be applied to Jaehyun as well because Jaehyun is no less charismatic than Yuki (Jaehyun really makes variety shows fun to watch). Both of them like to make other people smile, in the beach episode we see Yuki immediately apologising for saying "the ocean is gonna kill him" and then said that the ocean is awesome (in the beach episode it was evidient that he was trying his best to cheer Mafuyu up). Another common trait shared by both of them is that they like to "show off", Hiiragi describes Yuki as a flashy person who likes to show off, which reminds me of Hweseung once yelling that Jaehyun brags too much. However behind their cheerful aura, both of them are quite soft hearted, in Jaehyun's case, the first time fans saw him crying was when N flying won the award for their song Rooftop, and Yuki is well known to put on a brave face to hide his pain. Finally Jaehyun is described to be someone who is quite carefree in nature and the fact that Yuki nonchalantly told Mafuyu that he wants to make out with him in the bathroom at the beach in broad daylight shows that he is quite carefree as well.

Yoo Hweseung as Haruki Nakayama

Haruki is described to be a pure, kindhearted young man who is cheerful and carefree in his interactions, which is kind of similar to Hweseung, however Haruki can actually be quite shy and easily blushes when flattered, and despite having an extroverted personality, Hweseung was actually quite shy back in 2017 when he had joined the band as the lead vocalist. They are both super affectionate towards their bandmates because of which we see Haruki often spoiling his friends, Hweseung often talks about how hard his hyungs work and had also once mentioned how he wants to teach and take care of Dongsung more . Haruki is described to be the mediator of the band who often resolves conflicts which also reminds me of Hweseung being the "moderator" of the band. However both of them are sometimes seen to be quite insecure about their musical skills, Haruki is sometimes seen to be insecure about his skills compared to other members, which reminds me of Hweseung mentioning how he wants to improve more (despite have a very emotional yet powerful voice). They are sometimes seen teasing their bandmates, we once see Haruki was teasing Uenoyama with Akihiko by repeatedly calling him a "good boy", as for Hweseung, being one of the youngest members, he is well known for annoying his bandmates.

Seo Dongsung as Mafuyu Sato

Mafuyu is described to be a shy, introverted and reserved boy who has a hard time expressing himself, which reminds me of Dongsung who, being the new member of the band is no less reserved than Mafuyu because of which both of them appear to be quite mysterious. Mafuyu is shown to be a really obedient boy who goes to the Light Music club after Uenoyama tells him to learn guitar from them instead and his obedience is also shown when he goes for searching for a part time job after the day when the rest of his bandmates tells him to do so. In Dongsung's case he is described to be an obedient maknae as well. One of the prominent traits shared by both Mafuyu and Dongsung is their strong desire to learn, Hweseung once appreciated this trait of Dongsung and despite being shy, Mafuyu was actually quite determined about learning to play the guitar from Uenoyama and thus had repeatedly pursued him for that purpose. Their strong desire to learn makes both of them diligient when it comes to their respective bands and both of them are quick learners.

However despite being shy and sweet, they can at times be quite savage towards others, we see Mafuyu mocking at Hiiragi when he told that he (Hiiragi) is the vocalist, this reminded me of the time when Dongsung repeatedly posted "Hoon hyung is dumb" during one of their lives.

Conclusion

To be honest, I was not really confident about this blog because I thought that it might come off as innacurate and short, although it did not turn out to be short but I hope that it turned out good, I had been planning to post this for a long time although I initially thought of using Day6 members but, I found that N flying members are more suitable for the thread. 2019 Kdrama Year in Review

Alright, with 2019 drawing to a close, I thought it would be good to kind of organize my year in watching kdramas (ft. some cdramas). As per usual, I probably started around 100, dropped around 75% in the middle, and finished maybe like 10. My attention span is not good, but hey, I did watch a ton of great dramas this year and made some amazing discoveries. Let’s take a look! (and please keep in mind the top 5s are in no particular order!)

Dramas started: 96 (this encompasses ALL the ones I’ve started, mostly kdramas, but some cdramas, a jdrama or two, a couple thai ones, and one or two web dramas)

Dramas finished: 16 (usually, I aim to finish a kdrama a month (given my usual watching rate), so this is actually pretty good)

Dramas on hold/dropped: ~75 (excluding some I’m still trying my best to finish; I tend to get behind on dramas or stop around eps 10 or 11, so there are a couple I have like 4-5 episodes left on and am trying to finish)

A Drama I Hated

Here I don’t want to talk about a drama I necessarily disliked, but something that made me drop a fair number of dramas that I liked a lot, including The Liar and His Lover and Radio Romance (and I guess Goblin and Clean With Passion For Now, also maybe Doctors but I’m seeing if I can get over it). And that would be: age gaps. It’s something that’s made me distinctively uncomfortable, whether it’s in the drama or the actors: the fact that young girls acting with older guys. Whether that is in the actors themselves, like the 12 year age gap in Radio Romance where Kim Soohyun was literally 18 and he was 30, or in a show like The Liar and the Lover, where the girl is only ~18 and the guy is at least five years older or something. Now, I know there’s all this legal talk blah blah blah, but it’s simply a fact that made me uncomfortable, especially when watching the romance blossom on screen, so I sadly had to say goodbye to some of the dramas I had gotten a good portion into before being forced to discontinue.

A Genre I Got Into

I don’t know if it was because of Arthdal Chronicles or not, but I blame the former, because ever since that drama aired, I kept watching historical dramas! This was very unusual, since I forsworn off watching historical dramas after The King in Love (which I never finished), since I disliked that they all seemed to have similar plots and greed for the throne always won. Those facts have not changed, but the only difference is now I’m watching those dramas knowing exactly why I dislike them and still watching them. I have discovered some good ones and learned quite a bit of history through them, finishing Moon Lovers and Six Flying Dragons (and, soon, Tale of Nokdu and My Country). It’s something that has bled over to Chinese dramas as well...I’m in deep.

BONUS: Chinese Drama

This year was the year I finished my first ever cdrama: The Untamed! I binge watched it over the summer and fell in love with the wuxia/xianxia drama. I discovered a lot of great actors as well xD. The acting and plot were seriously so amazing. I loved the morally gray characters, the villains, and the heroes all at once. It’s one of the only shows where there was no boring moment for me; even in shows I love there are always a scene or two I skip over, but nope! Not during The Untamed. I highly, highly recommend it.

BONUS: Movies

This year I tried to watch more movies (Chinese and Korean, and even a Japanese one or two)! Ones I watched include: New Trial, Juror 8, The Swindlers, and The Merciless. I also went on a Ryu Joonyeol binge over the summer where I was really into his acting for a long point, and so I watched a ton of movies he was in (listed in Top 5 Actors). I watched On My Wedding Day with my mom and sister (mixed reviews, I liked it at least) and Goodbye Summer with my friends (very mixed reviews, we were: confused). For jmovie representation, I watched Bleach and Kingdom (and unknowingly fell in love with Ryo Yoshizawa). For Chinese movies (of which I have been trying to watch more of to improve my comprehension skills, they’re still a -1), I watched The Witness, The Untamed: The Living Dead, and Jade Dynasty. I’m always looking for recs, so if anyone has any good ones, hit me up.

Ep. 3 | The Marauders: Riddle Records

“Like me,” James mouthed seductively to the camera and winked.

“I’m Alice Fortescue, these wonderful lads are The Marauders, thank you for joining us this Saturday Night Live!” the actress grinned widely as the camera backed away.

The boys all gathered around her in a group hug.

“Holy shit! That was incredible!” Obviously, this was Sirius speaking.

“You were wonderful, honey,” a low voice whispered.

A smiling man with sweet eyes and a mop of dark hair put his arms around Alice.

“Oh, everyone, this is my boyfriend, Frank!” the bubbly actress grinned widely, “He’s a photographer for GQ.”

“Sick!” James shook his hand.

“Nice to meet you, Frank; lovely working with you, Alice; hope you’ll both come to one of our shows sometime, ta-ta!” Sirius practically dragged the band away before anyone could say anything more.

“What was that?” Remus tutted at his boyfriend.

“Yeah, ta-ta?” the bespectacled boy wiggled his nose to adjust his glasses that had gone askew, “Who says that?”

“Not what I meant,” the pale, mousy-haired boy shrugged off his suit jacket in their shared dressing room.

“Look, I’ll explain later!” Sirius pleaded, “Just hurry up and let’s get the hell -”

“Yoo-hoo! Siri!” a warbling, high-pitched voice giggled on the other side of the door, “This is their room here, Tommy...”

“Christ,” the dark-haired boy covered his face with his hands.

“We’ll deal with Bella,” James set his jaw and turned to the other two, “Ready?”

Remus and Peter rolled up their dress shirt sleeves and nodded.

The trio filed out of the dressing room, forcing Bella Black and her friend backward, and immediately shut the door behind them.

“He doesn’t want to see you or any of your family again, Bella,” said James sternly, giving the show's new cameraman the stink-eye for good measure.

Bella stuck her tongue out childishly.

Her guest grimaced and offered his hand to the boys, “I’m sorry about her. She overheard I was interested in speaking with you young talents and… well, it got a bit out of hand. I’m Tom Riddle, of Riddle Records.”

Really, the man with chiseled features and dark slicked back hair wasn’t much older than they were. But he was dressed more expensively than they could ever be comfortable with, even with the fresh success of their debut album.

“You’re Senior’s kid,” James nodded, his mother being an agent in the industry. He noted just the smallest flinch at the mention of the man's father. “With all due respect, we already have a label.”

“A label that has you locked into a contract as a group,” Tom gave them each his card and presented James with another one for Sirius, “We would pay any fees associated with breaking your current contract, then we would launch your solo careers - James as the pop prince, Sirius as the rock and roll bad boy, Remus as the R&B god, and Peter as the jazz legend!”

“We’re better musicians together,” said Remus.

Tom leaned in, “Your success now, quadrupled. Plus the potential for high-engagement collaborations among you. The freedom to create in your own style on top of that. Imagine it. And give me a call.”

"Ta-ta," Bella blew them each a kiss in a way that could only be described as menacing. When they were out of the boys' earshot she simpered, "You're such a clever businessman, Tommy."

"Don't call me that," he yanked his arm away and pressed his phone to his ear irritably, "I found us some new business and laid the groundwork. Can I have my allowance now?"

The Marauders flew back to Scotland that night and rehearsed for months until they were ready to drop before flying back to LA for Night One.

“Nervous?” Sirius whispered while they waited for their opening act, DJ Dedalus Diggle, to finish his set.

“Why would you ask me that?” James huffed, adjusting his bright red tie for the umpteenth time.

“You need more glitter,” Molly patted his cheekbones lightly with her pointer finger, which was covered in the golden stuff.

“Five minutes, boys!”

“Thanks, Arthur!” Remus spoke for them all.

“We’ve got this, Jimbo!” Peter bounced excitedly on his heels.

“Easy for you to say. You’ve been performing at recitals since you were big enough to reach the keys from the bench.”

“The jitters never get old,” his baby-faced friend told him, “but we’re all going out there. And with everything we do together, we always have fun.”

James nodded to himself and made sure to check on their drummer for the tour, “You good, Kingsley?”

The man in a rose-red disco suit twirled the sticks deftly in his hands, “Let’s do this.”

“... and now, Los Angeles,” Diggle hyped the crowd, “give it up… for The Marauders!”

The lights went up and the boys looked out at the incredibly emotional fans who’d come to see them.

“Right,” James whispered, reaching for the microphone with shaking hands, “A-one, two, three.”

I don’t have a lot of time

I’m running for my dear life

Aye aye aye

It’s a full house

But I’ll seek you out

It’s a wild crowd

But I’ll seek you out

I don’t know how

But I’ll seek you out

James couldn’t help grinning ear to ear as Sirius broke out into his guitar solo.

Remus pointed out a sign that said, “Marry me, James Potter!”

The lead singer laughed and spoke into his mic, “Well, will you buy me dinner first, at least?”

The girl promptly fainted.

Arthur was by her side immediately to make sure she was alright.

“Oh, dear, you’ve hit your head,” Molly crouched down beside him and handed the young girl an ice pack.

The red-headed manager got his first good look at the videographer and her multi-pocketed fishing vest and cargo pants.

She noticed him staring, “I’ve known these boys a long time. You never know what you’re going to need.”

“Good advice,” he helped her and the fan back up in one go, “I’m Arthur.”

“Molly,” she grinned, hoisting her camera back onto her capable shoulders and focused back in on James.

They played LA two more nights before moving on to San Francisco. Then Vegas, then Seattle, and across the rest of the continent, all the way to New York.

“Madison Square Garden,” James swallowed, taking in the iconic jumbotron above their heads and the entire stadium, really.

Just three hours later, he was up on that very stage, sweat trickling down his back and the bridge of his nose as he sang his heart out about a funny story the designer, Lily Evans once related about her sister via Instagram post.

There’s a little house on Privet Drive

After that, they went all over South America. The streets were typically too narrow to drive a tour bus around, so they often jetted from one country to another and rented a little convoy of minivans to take them to the arenas from their hotels and back.

“Shit, Petey’s got food poisoning!” Remus fussed over the poor boy.

“I’m fine! Really!” the blond insisted before doubling over and retching once more.

“I can fill in,” DJ Diggle adjusted his signature flat cap, “I have all your songs pre-recorded -”

“We have half an hour to get it out of his system!” Sirius declared determinedly, “We’re not going on without you, Pete!”

“I’ve got the doctor!” Arthur came in, followed closely by a middle-aged woman with apple cheeks and curly hair.

“You need to replace your fluids,” Molly handed Peter a bottle of electrolytes.

“Yeah, it’s a common bacterial infection going around among tourists,” said the doctor, giving him a dose of antibiotics, “He’s not in any shape to perform, you lot, so you might as well let him rest.”

“I can - oh,” Peter ran to the bathroom.

“How soon can you give him another dose of that?” Sirius asked anxiously.

“Not any time in the next half hour,” she narrowed her eyes at him, apparently having overheard his earlier proclamation.

“Poppy’s right,” said Arthur, “Peter’s health comes first. Dedalus, isolate the keyboards in every track and queue the set list.”

“Try to keep in time,” Sirius added.

“No improvising for tonight, lads,” Arthur warned the regular band members.

“But -”

“I’m serious.”

“And so am I!” he could only maintain a straight face for two and a half seconds after he said this.

James sighed as they waited for the DJ to introduce them half an hour later, “It’s not going to be the same without Peter.”

“We’ll make the best of it, Jimbo,” Remus assured him, “and he’ll be back with us for the next one.”

The frontman set his jaw, pushed his glasses up his face and pulled the microphone to his lips.

Peter was back on stage the next night, to much celebration and all too soon, they flew back across the pond for their European leg. Of course, their first stop was Scotland.

“It’s so good to be home,” James sighed happily, pausing to wipe his glasses on the hem of his shirt and winking at a girl who lost it at the sight of his abdomen, “This is our last song. Please join in if you know the words. Or make them up. Just have a good time. Be as loud as you want to. We love you all, thank you for everything you’ve done for us. We’re the luckiest boys in the world.”

Is there a risk to it?

Is it a challenge?

If there isn’t, if it isn’t, I don’t want it

"That sounds really good, Pete," said James from where he lay on the floor of their stage after the arena emptied, "We could use that."

Peter chuckled, "It's Chopin. A waltz."

James ambles over and his friend makes room for him on the bench.

"It's a split C chord, then F, A flat..." he guides him through the song. It's out of time and messy, but they're having fun. "James…"

"Yeah, Pete?"

"What are we going to do about Tom Riddle's offer? I mean, his dad’s label practically owns half the music industry. And Castle is just this little independent… He could make our lives more difficult than he already has."

"Unless we join him, you're thinking?"

"We could ask Arthur to negotiate a group contract just the same. I doubt they'll dislike the idea of paying less upfront."

"But what about loyalty to everyone at Castle? McGonagall? Urquart?" James shook his head, "We're having a successful tour in spite of the ticket bots Riddle set on us. We're looking out into seas of fans all wearing our merch in spite of his shipment hijacking. And we're having bloody good time because we're not letting any of the homophobic slander he's fueled the press with get to us."

"Here, here!" cheered Sirius, clinking his beer bottle with his boyfriend's.

"Right, rest up, lads! You deserve it with all the work you put into this show," James stood and ambled back to the tour bus, where Shacklebolt was already sleeping soundly, being the earliest riser of them all.

“Goodnight, all!” Peter loved his friends, truly. But he was convinced their stubborn sense of the meaning of courage would do them a great disservice.

As always when confronted with a decision to make, he visited the only jazz bar in Scotland, the Leaky Kettle. Immediately upon stepping inside, he let the smooth piano carry away the stress.

“The usual,” he told the bartender.

“Put it on my tab,” Tom Riddle swivelled around on the bar stool, "Fancy meeting you here."

"You mean you didn't expect to? Didn't plan it?" Peter received his drink with barely more than a sideways glance at their adversary.

"It's just business, Peter. I know you understand that."

"Then why go through all this trouble for one act? There must be thousands - hundreds of thousands - of talented artists who could make you rich."

Tom rolled his eyes, "My father was always… a bit single-minded. He wants to put me through my paces before handing me the keys to the kingdom, so to speak. But don’t worry about that. Just know this: I think your group is talented and I can see that you’re the musical glue holding it all together. You’re the only one with any formal training, after all. And I really can see to your career’s longevity. If you stick with this boyband too long, though…”

Peter raised his eyebrows, “Then what?”

“Well,” the label executive leaned in, “then you’ll need to think about what that does to your image as a real, serious musician.”

The blond boy finished his drink.

“Another one for my friend,” Tom told the bartender, took his jacket, and left.

His calling card sat heavy in the keyboardist’s wallet.

Hi. Hello. I know I am probably annoying all my followers with the amount of times I talk about this beautiful group known as SF9, but I’m back again, I just don’t know when to quit.

Some of you may have heard the name. Maybe it came up on Pandora when you were doing homework. Maybe a video popped up with their name but you never clicked on it.

I wanna give you the faces to the name.

SF9, short for Sensational Feeling 9 is a 9 member group who debut back in October of 2016 under FNC Entertainment.

Like most boy groups it seems like these days SF9 went through a survival show called D.O.B (Dance or Band), competing against fellow trainee group Band later known as Honeyst (Who you might have seen disbanded recently)

SF9 went onto win D.O.B as the dance group with their winning track K.O along with their unique choreography. To this day I’ve never seen anything quite like the choreography that they had in K.O

K.O was featured on their debut album along with their title track Fanfare which had a jamming vibe if I say so myself. The debut album debuted in eighth place and peaked at sixth place on the Gaon Album Chart.

They boys performed against Cube’s PENTAGON since both groups were debuting live the same day. To this day SF9 and PENTAGON remain close close friends, often being paired up with one another.

In December of that year, just a few months after debut the boys release the single “So Beautiful” as a gift for their fans, later known as FANTASY as a way to say Thank them for all their love and support. The song was originally an OST of their interactive web-drama Click Your Heart that the members stared in.

2017 was their busiest year some would argue. In February their first mini album, Burning Sensation with the title track Roar was released, hitting as high up as #6 on Billboard World Albums Chart.

Just 2 months after Roar promotions, FNC confirmed the group would make their second comeback in April with their second EP Breaking Sensation. The title track Easy Love is often regarded as one of the best title track song of SF9, as well as title tracks that occurred in 2017. It ranked at #2 on the world album charts.

In June of that year they had their Japanese debut and performed at both KCON New York and KCON L.A that summer.

In October they had released their 3rd mini album Knights of The Sun and their ever catchy title track O Sole Mio. This was the era I came in. Yes I am not a debut era stan, but it doesn’t make me any less of a FANTASY. I was amazed by their unique style and charisma that I got hooked right away.

In February of 2018 SF9's fourth EP, Mamma Mia! was released. Their Japanese single, under the same name was released in May, and they held a Japanese tour titled "SF9 Zepp Tour 2018 MAMMA MIA!" that month.

On July 31, they came back with their fifth EP, Sensuous, with the lead single "Now or Never". 2-18 also saw their first domestic convert and a south american fan meet tour.

After that, the boys managed to finally get a well deserved break and came back in February of this year 2019 with their sixth mini album, Narcissus and the title track Enough, but promotions did not last long because after a month, on March 20, 2019 they released their 2nd Japanese album with the title "ILLUMINATE" In order to promote their album, a tour was held in japan and the boys continued to work hard, performing concerts and even KCON Japan.

Their most recent comeback was on the 17th of this month (June). It was their 7th mini album and its title track, RPM continues SF9 concept and style, while giving it a bit of a flare.

The main reason I spent hours writing this post, giving you their history, is because I’m sure a lot of you have heard of SF9, but never quite watched them. Maybe they came on Pandora, or Youtube Auto Play, but you’ve never taken your time to actually watch them.

Their current comeback, RPM is quite possibly one of their best comebacks. The album is by far a fan favorite, and represents SF9′s style, while also giving a bit of a twist to it. Each comeback they get stronger and stronger and firmer in their style and I love it.

But for a group like this, a group of 9 beautiful, sweet, passionate, hardworking souls, they are day after day underappreciated.

The went on their first world tour this year but already had some shows cancelled because not enough people were going and so the cost to had the concert was too high.

As of now, their title track RPM, released on the 17th, just barley has a million views. And I know, we should consider ourselves lucky because a lot of groups never even hit 1 million views, including maybe your favorites. But if that is the case then you know how we FANTASY feel. You understand. We just want more for them. We want to give them the world. We will never stop wanting to give them more.

A group like SF9 deserves to be loved.

Which is why I ask you, if you have a spare 4 minutes in your life, maybe sit down and watch them. Actually watch them. You may up deciding they aren’t your cup of tea, and that’s okay, at least you tried. That’s all I can ask.

Honey voiced sweet boy who just loves Pokemon. Has an ever going bromance with Inseong.

Dawon

King of Variety, he is the mood maker of SF9. He just loves to make people smile with his jokes ^_^

Our charismatic low toned rapper, with one of the most unique voices in kpop. I don’t like compareing idols, but think of Wonwoo from Seventeen. He reminds me a lot of him. He loves songwriting, and is good friends with EXO’s Chanyeol and Red Velvet’s Wendy.

The groups Mother, a rising actor in the K drama world. You might have seen him in “Where Stars Land”

Taeyang

SF9′s Dance Machine and appointed Sunshine of the group who loves to choreograph dances. Big EXO fan, and if he reminds you of SHINee’s Taemin, don’t worry, you aren’t alone.

Hwiyoung

Position: Rapper, Supporting Vocalist, Dancer

Our sensitive happy virus of the group who just loves the rain,because it makes him feel calm and comfortable.

Chani

Real Name: Kang Chanhee

Birthday: January 17, 2000

Position: Vocalist, Main Dancer, Rapper, Maknae

Another rising star in the K Drama world. You might have seen him in the 2018 widely popular “Sky Castle”. The residential cutie, who idolizes SHINee’s Taemin. He is also a host on MBS’s Show! Music Core along with SKZ Hyunjin and Gugudan’s Mina.

my top 10 trainees as of ep. 4 and why

*these are my opinions only. no particular order, the numbers mean nothing

1. Kim Yohan (Oui Ent): I can see him going far. Regardless of his lack of experience, I think Yohan is talented. He dances well, he has a good base in rap, and he has a killer stage presence. He’s motivated, he works hard, and I think he has a shit ton of potential. Bottom-line, I like him a lot, and I predict he’ll remain in the top 10 rankings for most of the show.

2. Kim Sihun (Brand New Music): He’s ready to be an idol from my standpoint. He presents himself very well on camera and onstage, he has a versatile stage presence, and he is a consistent dancer and rapper. He’s also provided some of the best reactions to other trainees during group battle and auditions. Not to be controversial, but I think he should have been X1-MA center over dongpyo...I really hope the vote benefit keep him through this next evaluation because I feel like he could really shine in later evaluations.

3. Choi Suhwan (Individual Trainee): He is hands down one of the most talented trainees in this competition but he ends up being overshadowed by editing and *cough* taller trainees. He’s a stable and talented vocal, he’s a great dancer, and he’s versatile in concepts. I think he could pull off a cute or dreamy concept just as well as a heavier concept. I think he also knows his ability very well and chose to be a center for lullaby when he easily could have been main vocal. He also shows good leadership and teamwork in practice clips. I hope he is able to keep going.

4. Yoon Junghwan (Brand New Music): He is a powerful vocal for this season, and I have a feeling that he’s going to be looked over this season and it’s sad.

5. Kim Hyunbin (Source Music): He’s motivated, he’s got great energy, he’s enthusiastic, he’s talented, he absolutely saved No More Dream. My one critique is that he may have outshined the rest in the team. I don’t know if that’s on him or other team members but he didn’t bring a lot of balance as a center.

6. Lee Wonjun (E Ent): Nothing gets me more than when an idol glances at a side-angle camera and homeboy did it. Since his audition, I think he’s got a lot of potential and we’ve already seen two vastly different concepts from him. I think he would be great in a large idol group

7. Song Hyungjun (Starship): Okay...his attitude has totally done it for me. I think he’s an extremely hardworking, dedicated kid with a good sense of leadership and a strong desire to help others succeed. But other than dance, I don’t know if he would succeed in a large group. I don’t think he has the stage presence to stand out among 10 other guys

8. Kim Dongbin (MLD): Homeboy has gotten so much better since season 2 that I think he has the potential to improve even further through this season and debut. He has a unique look and controls his face well. I think he would do great in a produce group. Also, having the courage to come back and try again shows he’s resilient. I like it.

9. Yoo Geunmin (Million Market): idk, he was 101 during ep. 1 and I felt for him. I think he’s cute.

10. Won Hyuk (E Ent): I think he was the stand out of Adore U team and I like him a lot.
