Honestly I think crocodile/dragon and crocodile/Doflamingo are only interesting when treated as failed relationships spinning off into increasingly petty grudges and instigations. But also we don't even know when Dragon left the marines and when he and Crocodile first met, so for all we know it could've been some real enemies-to-lovers-to-enemies shit AND THAT'S SO INTERESTING

(Also the mere concept that Dragon could've been chasing Crocodile around kinda like Smoker tried to chase Luffy, only for Crocodile to become a Shichibukai and Dragon having to give up because they're on the same side now (kinda). Like. That is so fucking funny. And then he leaves the Marines to start a revolution. Or just out of spite dshgjdgs)

Then there's the absolutely hysterical part where Crocodile is the meanest, most intimidating, standoff-ish asshole around. So the idea Dragon was fucking into that is INCREDIBLE. THIS MAN LIKES BEING BULLIED DFSHFKGHFGJHDS (It's possible Young Croc might've been less mean but it's funnier if he wasn't)

And yeah. Somehow. In complete secret. A romance blooms.

And then there's a baby.

And Crocodile transes his gender.

And there's a divorce.

And 17 years later Crocodile has commited dozens of unforgivable warcrimes that are almost exactly the kind of things Dragon wanted to stop the government from doing to begin with.

I’ve had to change plans for like some mechanics though (well atleast in my head). Like I’ve been rereading the whole one piece manga cause I blazed through reading it within two weeks my first time and didn’t absorb as much of it as I would’ve liked. It was in the tags of one of my earlier speedrun posts so I doubt many people caught it, but I talked about me headcannoning haki being a completely spiritual thing so the crew could skip over training haki and just train like, idk their muscles or something. This is cause I wanted them to be stupidly op for my speedrun au ofc, but I’m rereading canon and Rayleigh is like, u cant train conquerers haki like the other 2 hakis, it’s more of a measure of ur character. SO BASICALLY, luffy and zoro wudnt have to train their conquerer’s haki to get back to it’s original strength, but the others would.

And then I literally just finished rereading through dressrosa and I can’t believe i missed doflamingo talking about awakening but I DID and I was so hyped when rereading that. But watching that battle and also remembering all the limits in the enies lobby battle is making me think about how weak luffy was. Idk if 15 yr old luffy could reeaaaallly handle doing this much… BASICALLY IM WORRIED ABOUT THE POWER SCALINGS OF EVERYTHING URGEHEHEHHEHEH!!!!

Qrow’s Semblance is Fortune! 🐦‍⬛

I talked about this briefly before, having speculated that Clover’s pin carries on his good luck after death or that Qrow has just done a lot of training mentally and/or physically. @benevolentslut had some amazing additions as well & I want to sum up this theory for you as best as I can as we reached similar conclusions even before I had read her reblog.

Qrow has only been in the negative all his life, mentally and emotionally.

This man has had barely any positivity in his life.

Qrow grew up under constant stress & threat of those around him.

Needless to say, but I don't think he could trust anyone he grew up around except maybe Raven.

Then Oz drops the whole Salem problem on him & I'm sure that didn't help his mental health in the slightest!

I'm just going to copy paste this here as I hadn't noticed it & it feels worth noting that the intensity of his misfortune seems to increase with the increasing mental strain.

While we don't know for sure that all of these things are a byproduct of Qrow's misfortune semblance, it certainly isn't out of the realm of possibility. Notice the worsening of his mental health resulting in potentially more disastrous outcomes. 😰

When you're this low, there's a saying that goes "nowhere to go but up."

I firmly believe that Qrow would see things that way, especially after reaching his lowest point. He can only do his best to help those around him. Though he's the most alone he's ever been, he's becoming a part of a new community where people help one another. In that sense, it's impossible to be alone. In spite of it all, he slowly finds his mental health improving! Ruby's message to the world is bringing people together! 🌹

Cinder betrayed Neo & so she winds up in the Ever After & through her form changes is showing us that she now has negative feelings towards Cinder.

She's so upset that her semblance starts to make multiple clones of her which it has never been able to do before. Her Overactive Imagination semblance has evolved due to the state of her mental health.

Her semblance begins to evolve so much to where she can create entire architectural structures and buildings out of it!

She can even use it to talk through the people she recreates, something she's not physically capable of herself.

While we do have to take into account that the Ever After plays by rules that are a little bit different at times; this absolutely confirms that semblances, much like people, can change & grow! 💪

My conclusion: Volume 10 & beyond will show Qrow's personal semblance evolution as he finds out that his power is actually Fortune itself & the ability to control it, good and the bad.

You uuuuuhhhhhh are cool

So there's a relic on Path of Champions called Voidborne Carapace that give the equipped champion "Whenever any unit dies, grant me its positive keywords" and Evolve (Once you've had 6+ different positive keywords in play, grant me +2/+2). I always wondered what to use it for; Evolve is much harder to trigger when you can't choose what cards to put in your deck, and getting keywords from dying units doesn't seem that good. However, I've since realized the synergy it has with 2 champion's star powers:

Bard is a champion based a round buffing allies in your hand, and has the power Caretaker's Blessing: "Whenever you summon a unit with buffed stats, grant it a random keyword." This makes evolving super easy, and can let Bard collect up all the random keywords that your allies have, making him a monstrosity with high stats and a ton of keywords.

The other, much more interesting option, is Elise. Elise's 3-star power is Spider Queen 2: "When allies attack, grant allies Spiderlings everywhere +1/+0 and the positive keyword of allied champions." For context, spiderlings are 1/1s that Elise is really good at summoning lots of, and "everywhere" means permanently, for the rest of the game, even on spiderlings that are summoned later. Elise's deck only has reliable access to 2 keywords, so evolving is fairly difficult, but oh my the rewards...

First of all, copying the keywords of dying enemies (and any other keyworded units you pick up) allows you to permanently transfer those keywords to your spiderlings. That could be pretty nice, granting stuff like quick attack, overwhelm, brash, challenger, spellshield, etc., but it's unreliable. You also transfer evolve to your spiderlings. And while turning on evolve is difficult, if you ever manage it, then all your spiderlings get +2/+2 for the rest of the game, making you basically unstoppable with your army of itsy-bitsy spiders.

The only problem is that I don't have Voidborne Carapace nor Elise's 3-star power.

#asks #imagine casting an Inspired Charge every single turn in mtg #that's what evolving all your spiderlings would be like #and combine that with the natural power buff of Spider Queen and all the other keywords you've collected and WOW #absolutely ridiculous #at least it WOULD be absolutely ridiculous if i had my toys! #also ridiculous would be the relic Galeforce which grants scout which allows the unit to attack an additional time #put that on Elise and you get to trigger Spider Queen twice for +2/+0 AND you grant scout to all your spiderlings forever! #Galeforce is so OP that they nerfed it by shuffling the champion into the deck at the end of the turn #but that would hardly matter because you already granted scout to all your spiderlings! #which means THEY get to attack twice to trigger Spider Queen twice and get +2/+0 every round! #and the only problem with this is that I DON'T HAVE GALEFORCE EITHER >:O #anyway i looked up Voidborne Carapace and apparently it used to not even give Evolve it only let you take the keywords of dead units #which. is very much NOT worth a rare relic slot #the payoff would be way too low for the chance it has of doing nothing #plus you could just use a relic that gives you the keyword you want most instead of using such an unreliable method #100% needed the buff #even with evolve it's only worth using on a few certain champions #i'm guessing it's beastly on Bard because of how reliably you can get a bunch of different keywords #and when you get to star 3 on Bard your buffed allies get 2 random keywords so it gets good even faster #but it's a very interesting way to take advantage of Spider Queen 2's keyword transfer ability #elise only has fearsome so it's kinda meh #when she levels up she gets challenger but she also gets an ability that gives all your spiders fearsome and challenger #so there's not really much point to Spider Queen 2 #so the trick is finding ways to get other good keywords onto your spiderlings #i'm sure it'll be really interesting to play with once i hit 3 star #fortunately Spider Queen 1 still gives the +1/+0 so i still get to enjoy my unstoppable spiderling army :D

IG I'll go with a haterism: Sai and Yamato are pretty uninteresting imo, to the point where you could take both of them out of the story and still be left with a perfectly intact narrative. I don't think they were necessary to add, and actually having them become part of the main cast was like the main reason why i dropped the fandom as a kid lmaooo.

I'd rather see Anko as the stand-in sensei if they needed one. She's tokubetsu jonin, worked closely with orochimaru and knows many of his techniques, and even has the same type of curse mark as sasuke. She'd be great for helping them to train specifically against him. Also shes hot as fuck.

And for the sasuke stand-in, I'd honestly prefer it if there wasn't one. It would emphasize the hole sasuke left, as well as being a great opportunity for team 7 to have actual combat struggles. A lopsided, not-quite-there team would be a great way of externalizing the central struggle in part2. It would also explain the intense power scaling that happened in part2, as the remaining 3 members have to work to make up for their empty fourth slot.

Diversity Win: Is "Crazy Rich" POC Representation Necessarily Empowering?

I’m writing a story with two sets of protagonists: A trio with a Black girl, a Latino, and a Vietnamese-American boy who all come from middle-upper class to ridiculously rich families, and a pair of white working-middle class sisters. They’re all heroes of this story. I understand that your motivation for these narrative choices is to give POC a chance, if you will, to be the rich characters. But it is evident from this ask that you have not asked yourself what this entails. I want to ask you to critically examine the race and class intersections you’re creating here, as well as these kids’ roles in oppressive systems.

You explain that these rich POC are heroes and only have righteous reasons for leveraging their power.

But is your Black girl character aware of the potential disciplinary and/or legal consequences her jock accomplice might face while she has the resources to keep her hands clean? Are you?

Is your Asian character aware of how much of an abuse of power it is to “sic” a cop on someone, and the sheer amount of harm a criminal record or incarceration does to a juvenile with behavior issues? Are you?

So you want to put POC in positions of power for #representation.

Does it resonate with the group you’re representing?

Do you research and portray the unique ways race, ethnicity, class, and majority vs. minority status come together?

Or are you putting these characters in oppressive hegemonic roles for the sake of a power fantasy, on behalf of a group you're not even in?

To your question, you're not reinforcing the idea that "POC rule the world" because such a generalized belief does not exist. Instead, you're reinforcing:

The idea that society has “winners” and “losers.”

The idea that the problem with disproportionately powerful people is the lack of “equal opportunity” as opposed to the power imbalance to begin with.

The idea that those in oppressive positions of power need only have the right intentions to justify their use of it.

To be clear: that is not to say that you can't have jerk aristocrat billionaire millionaire crazy rich POC. Evil or mean rich characters are fun! I have some myself! You can even have rich characters who are gentle-hearted and well-intentioned, but you have to know the ways in which they’re privileged and decide how aware of that your characters are. That’s no problem.

But if you think that wealthy and powerful POC would have the same values and priorities as their poorer counterparts, you’re deluding yourself. There’s a reason why the quote “power corrupts” exists. There’s a reason why no matter where you look on the globe, there are historical dictators and tyrants.

If you want bratty rich POC who lack regard for the consequences of their actions, because you want bratty rich characters, great! If you want them because it would be uplifting or empowering representation? You’re doing it for the wrong reason.

I don't think you need to aim to subvert or purposely make all the BIPOC rich and powerful and the white people poor and suffering. Add diversity and include upper class rich and class privileged BIPOC, sure thing! And you can avoid your fears of intentional subversion message by including rich and powerful white characters as well, even if they're not the focus of your story. Just their existence helps. You could also include middle-class characters of Color as well.

I know it's just the Terminal Crocodile Brainworms speaking but like

We know both Kuma and Iva-chan would become members of the Revolutionary Army 16 years after the two meet at God's Valley

And like. I can't help but to wonder if Kuma's flashback is going to tie to the backstory of the Revolutionary Army and how he joined the cause, especially since we are going to learn about Iva-chan's backstory at the same time backstory (and Bonney's??? Mom??? I'm assuming???)

And while I don't think we're going to learn much about Dragon through this backstory because. IDK I feel like Oda would save that for later, right now doesn't feel like The Time To Reveal Dragon's Backstory. Not to mention, if this backstory is meant to be About Kuma first and foremost, then adding Dragon into this mix would just distract from Kuma and Bonney's relationship, the current heart of the story (also is why I want to believe Ginny is Bonney's mom, since that would also tie to the heart of the story)

But I can't help but to wonder... if Crocodile was a member of the Revolutionary Army for a while, then might we see him even just briefly at some point during this flashback? Maybe? Perhaps? Even for just a panel or two? Please? Pretty please? 👉👈

Imagine if Ellie joined the Teen Titans (Cartoon Version)

When Trigon attacks, everybody is freaking out because how are they going to stop him? Raven is a kid, there are no other magic users around, and the Justice League is off world (idk what the canon reason is)

But Ellie is strangely calm

She mentions that her dad may be able to help, or at least be able to hold him back long enough for them to get help

Robin: How is your Dad going to stop THAT!

Ellie: Well, you know how I'm half ghost?

BB: Yeah?

Ellie: Ans you know how that one time the ghost we fought called me "Princess"?

So she calls in her dad, who is sporting the classic Ghost King Redesign, and he goes to hold Trigon back as the team comes up with a plan.

I don't like the "Insanely OP Danny" stuff too much, so for this let's just say that Danny can grow in size to be comparable to Trigon, and they have a Giant Kaiju battle in the middle of Jump City. He doesn't win, but he manages to hold on long enough for Raven to finish the Job

Also i really want Danny to start doting on Ellie, like really excited that he gets to meet his daughters friends and all that. He even pulls out some embarrassing Baby Photos from that time Ellie was reverted to her actual age.

Once he hears about Raven being Trigons daughter, he adopts her on the spot.

Raven suddenly has a new Dad, Sister, Brother (reformed dan), Aunt, Grandma and Grandpa (good parents jack and maddie) and maybe a new mom (Sam? Val? 3rd person?)

Basically I just wanted a "Kaiju Danny vs Kaiju Trigon" fight

I'll do a part 3 so suggest to me in the comments who you'd like to see next! (p.s. Sanji's a pervert)

Sanji

Just a hug? Prepare yourself to receive much more than that.

If you hug him tight, he'll hug you tighter, it's like a competition to see who shows more love to the other.

Probably he'd try to give you some smooches, this guy is super glue when it comes to demonstrating love to his partner.

"Y/N-chwan let me love you!" he'd say with a cheesy voice, nosebleeding just by having you in his arms (he can't get accustomed to your closeness).

You'd have to escape from him if you don't want to be dragged into a long make-out session now.

Sanji would look for you as you hide, saying that he only wants more hugs (false, he wants to have seggsy time with you).

Smoker

He gets easily flustered if you hug him out of the blue when alone and it makes him almost panic if in front of other people.

Imagine wrapping your arms around his torso in front of his subordinates. He'll just try faintly to send you away, his cheeks red as tomatoes as he whispers "Not now babe, please".

As you let him go sighing, he'll come back to you as soon as possible, finding an excuse just to have five seconds alone with you.

He'll pick you up and embrace your body as if it was a feather, your arms and legs wrapped against the beefy man as he places his forehead against yours

Too bad his subordinates once caught you two lovebirds having a sweet moment and let out an "Aaaww". Smoker turned around and gave them a glacial, death stare. Their bodies were never found (just kidding, he's a sweetheart).

Ace

This guy is warm to hug (that's no secret, you could have imagined that) and since he's a sweet partner who loves to demonstrate his love physically, he is just obsessed with your hugs and your presence in general.

His hugs are tender and make you feel protected in his arms, he holds you as if you were the most precious thing in the world for him.

Normally, Ace loves hugging you while sitting on the couch, you on his lap and your legs wrapped around him as he rubs your back.

Even though this may be an allusive position for more than just a hug, he wouldn't go further if you don't ask for it. 

Just having his s/o in his arms it's enough for Ace, and comforting you after a stressful day it's one of the things he loves the most (p.s. don't try this with Sanji, he'll take it as an invitation to have seggsy time).

Crocodile

If Crocodile doesn't know it's you approaching him from behind he would turn into sand, your arms wrapping around nothing and leaving an annoyed look on your face.

"Sorry love, I thought it was someone trying to murder me" he'd excuse himself realizing it was his s/o.

He'd pat your head and give you a tight hug to put a smile back on your face since he saw how unimpressed you were from his cautious behaviour.

Next time you'll embrace him with wet hands to neutralize his devilfruit's powers so that he can't escape the hug.

If you manage to gain his complete trust, he'll even let you join him when he's having a shower or taking a bath, since he loses all his strength in both cases. He refuses to admit that but hugging you as he's so vulnerable gives him lots of comfort, he loves it.

(He will totally ask questions like “Does it poop in your belly” 😂)

Would ask Sanji to make sure you are getting the food you need, and would have chopper constantly making sure your pregnancy is going smoothly.

Would be absolutely excited about buying the baby clothes but would have Nami or Robin with him to help him get the actual necessary supplies

Would be absolutely happy with either gender, just as long your baby is healthy and strong.

I feel like with anyone he meets, well the ones that are save to tell, he would boast about being a father. Would absolutely want ace to know 100%. (N if by following the anime, I feel like luffy would absolutely cry if you named the baby in the memory of ace)

Would spoil you with cuddles, would absolutely love to always have a hand on your belly just to feel your baby move.

Once in labor he would be by your side, letting you squeeze the hell out of his hand, while Robin is aiding chopper with the delivery and Nami is wiping away your sweat.

After you’ve had the skin to skin bonding and the first 24 hours with your baby. Luffy would have you sleep and rest while himself and the rest (Nami and Robin and Chopper) watch over the baby, as Sanji cooks some nutritional food for you and brook plays a soothing song.

Sanji:

His heart is pounding the hell outta his chest and is in a shocked state, but once he has recovered he has heart eyes

Will be at your beckoning call, he will get you anything you need, like he constantly wants you to rest and not harm your self.

Will cook for you all the nutritional foods you need and will of course make you all the cravings you may have.

Would absolutely gives you massages, back rubs, feet rubs he gots you, he wants you to feel as comfortable as you can throughout your pregnancy

I feel like Sanji would be the most educated in the concept of pregnancy and if very prepared for it. Sanji would ask chopper about your pregnancy, see how the baby is, how you are.

I feel like at some moments during your pregnancy Sanji would feel terrified at the idea of being a father what if he’s horrible at it..baby is absolutely scared.

Doesn’t care about the gender he just wants the baby to be healthy and absolutely filled with love.

Once your in labor Sanji is holding your hand while he’s wiping away the sweat on your face with a rag. Sanji is praising about how great you doing and that it’s almost all done.

Once your baby is out, chopper passes the baby over to Sanji, at this moment Sanji is in his own world looking at his son, with a few strands of blond and a smile just like yours, Sanji tears up as his son grips on his pinky. At this moment Sanji’s fears vanish and he knew that he would do anything in his power to be an outstanding father to his newly born son and can’t wait to grow old with you.

Ace:

This man is absolutely scared and can’t comprehend a little you or him is growing in you. Honestly he doesn’t think he deserves this much love from you or the idea of having a family with you. So the first 2 times I feel like he’d be kinda distant but only because he’s scared but absolutely craves the idea of being a family with you.

White beard would have a whole ass talk to ace about what’s to happen. Once understanding more ace looks for you to talk, but the moment he sees you in your shared room, how you’ve started to set up a nursery corner and humming while you slowly rub your growing bump. Ace feels at ease and filled with joy, he rushes over to you and hugs you while tearing up.

Ace would say how much of an idiot he’s been and will now be here for both you and the baby, how he’ll push through his fears and wants to begin a family with you.

From that day on ace has always given you cuddles, love, would always go fetch you your cravings and has always accompanied you to ship’s doctor for your pregnancy check ups.

I feel like you both would learn together about the pregnancy and how to better be prepared.

Gender doesn’t matter either to him, as long you and the baby are healthy.

Once on labor ace would be by your side as you grip on his arm, as he’s absolutely concerned for your wellbeing, but once the baby is out and you have a whole sigh of relief he has also calmed, looking at the his daughter he notices his freckles scattered on her little face, feeling so much joy for his little girl ace uses his powers to warm his body temp to sooth the baby as he hands her to you, so you could have your skin to skin bonding moment.

Shanks:

Man is utterly shocked, he can’t process it and fear sets in, he’s not ready, so the only logical thing he can process right now is to leave, and that he did.

Today marks one month since he left, the exact same day you’ve told him the news about becoming a father. The day you became completely alone, it’s been barely 30 minutes since you got home from you doctor check up, the baby is growing smoothly and is healthy.

You hear a knock at your door, opening the door your are confused until you look down until you see him, Shanks is bowing down fully to the floor slightly shaking, through sobs he tells you he made such a huge mistake and that he wants to fully be with you and the baby.

Angry that now he shows up but also very emotional cause of the hormones you kneel down to him and cry and he hugs you, you want him back but the day he left you so did your trust in him, so you tell him that you just can’t with out the trust.

Understanding you shanks does absolutely everything to win back your trust and that he did, after 6 months you two are absolutely happy together again. I feel like he’s the one who build the nursery room and has read up on pregnancy to better learn and take care of you.

Shanks loves to hold your belly and kiss it while talking to the baby, he always brings you snacks and foods you may need.

Once again doesn’t care about the gender as long the baby is healthy, but would absolutely adore to have a little girl

Once you’re in labor shanks is absolutely sweating, he’s watching you then the doctor then back to you, but the moment he hears the crying he look’s directly at his daughter who has his hair color, shanks is full on crying now not believing that he almost gave up the chance of watching his daughter grow.

Giving you the baby so you can have skin to skin bond he hugs you and kisses the top of your head and whispers to you, “I’m never going to leave and I will protect you and our daughter”.

The Central AI Chamber exteriors r probably some of my favorite Valve has made like. Ever. I genuinely don't think either of them would pack as much punch as they do if the other wasn't there. Seeing GLaDOS' chamber, built up to like, 20 times it's original size rly shows she's 100 times more efficient than Aperture's architects ever were. She built the facility back up in a matter of days while it'd probably take humans decades just to clean all the plantlife and debris out. It's funny because there probably won't be anyone to witness all her hard work except Chell - she's built all this up either for herself, or for her, or perhaps both. And then Wheatley gets put in charge and it all goes to utter shit. It's almost equally as impressive how quickly Wheatley managed to royally fuck up the facility again (arguably even worse than the natural degradation ever did)

We go through a co-op course that's still utterly wrecked after Wheatley's power trip, which gives the impression he's rendered certain chambers completely irreperable.

As Chell finally approaches his lair and we see the Central AI Chamber again it looks nearly unrecognizable. It looks like it fuckin RUPTURED from within. He just peeled it apart like it's play doh and left it like that. Apart from whenever she has to deal with birds, chapters 8 and 9 have GLaDOS displaying the most distress she's ever shown over the course of both games. I mean, imagine you finally got around to cleaning your house after centuries of it sitting there, tilted sideways, gathering dust and dirt and sprouting roots everywhere, only for fuckin Booboo The Fool to come along and start smashing it apart for 5 seconds worth of euphoria. Her 12 year torture plan is probably extremely generous, all things considered, because I have a feeling she wouldn't have the self control not to just gut him on the spot and toss his empty shell down a bottomless pit.
