I spent the last 3 days pouring my heart into this painting. I was inspired by watching videos of @mirabyler painting with acrylics on YouTube. She painted a giraffe in one of her videos and I just felt compelled to paint my own. I’ve always loved giraffes because they’re so unique. I even have a giraffe collection… 😅 I don’t typically paint with acrylics because things don’t usually turn out the way I want when I do. But this time something really came alive in me and I just kept pushing even when it was looking a little rough at times. It’s a nice reminder to keep going even in the toughest times and to push through until you make out on the other side. After taking time away from drawing and fueling my body with healthy foods I finally got back into it in my sketchbook. I completed this sketchbook spread this morning with reworking an old character. Instead of tweaking little things of my old design, I went for completely reworking the character while keeping a few details that I loved from the old design. Healthy meal for the soul. I don’t generally post food on here but I’m really proud of this creation. Atlantic Salmon with a Vegetable Medley all made from fresh ingredients.
