RWBY Thought of the Day #11 - Not Yangry, Just Disappointed

So we all love the dance chapters - they were pretty much perfect and exactly what the fandom needed no matter what or who you ship. However there was one tiiiiny thing that bothered me: Yang’s outfit. A plain white dress. She said she would be ‘turning heads’ and yet the background characters look more vibrant than her. She’s Yang Xiao Long, she’s all about the colour and the bad-ass-ness(?) in everything she wears.. so what happened? 1) Everyone else’s outfits reflected their characters and 2) let’s be honest my girl is pale enough as it is. I mean, maybe there’s some significance to this or something idk but it just doesn’t seem right to me.

RWBY Thought of the Day #10 - I Need More SSSNshine

So it’s been 2 volumes since we’ve seen any of Team SSSN besides Sun himself, and I’m pretty sure this is some kind of illegal, and if it isn’t then it should be, after all they are a “crowd favourite”. Despite hardly seeing them, I’m in love with their team dynamic and the way they all fit together and I wanna see more of them, especially Neptune as he’s one of my favourite characters and despite being a Blacksun shipper I’m also obsessed with Sea Monkeys. Volume 6 would be a prime time (neat rhymes) for this considering the gang’s all in Mistral and they’re taking time to regroup for awhile. Consider my fingers crossed.

RWBY Thought of the Day #9 - Who’s the Strongest of Them All? (Team RWBY)

Something I like to think about when I watch fight shows is the pecking order of the characters - who’s the strongest? Just focusing on Team RWBY, it’s a tough decision, but I would say Blake can be easily knocked out as her clones are useful but apart from that she can do nothing the others can’t, and I think Ruby can be ignored as, like I’ve previously mentioned, she just has the ‘I’m main protagonist so I can’t lose’ mentality. Between Weiss & Yang, it’s a tough one. Weiss is versatile and is capable of fighting a vast array of opponent types with her glyphs and summoning, but she can’t take a lot of hits. Yang is a total powerhouse and gains power with every hit, but if her opponent has ways of dodging her, there’s not a whole lot she can do (as seen with Neo & Neon, whom she technically both lost to if it weren’t for her sheer luck). However, Yang has been learning to control her anger and how to think more strategically in a fight, so I think, out of Team RWBY, I would have to say the strongest was Yang XIao Long. Up for debate.

RWBY Thought of the Day #8 - Weiss is Losing Her Cool

Weiss’ character has grown exponentially throughout the volumes, and with that so has her semblance. With her gaining the ability to summon creatures she has previously defeated, she’s sure to use this as it is definitely a powerful attribute. However, it’s beginning to take over her entire fighting style, even though she could still fight like a badass pre-summoning. This is shown in her fight with Vernal where all she tries to do is summon even though this clearly won’t affect Vernal. The summoning is great, and I’m curious to see it pushed to its limits, but I hope Weiss doesn’t have to fully rely on it.

RWBY Thought of the Day #7 - Nora. Just Nora.

Okay so, as I’m sure we’ve all noticed, Nora Valkyrie is a total legend. Yet, despite us all knowing this I still feel that she is totally underrated. Team JNPR would be next to nothing without her (even with Pyrrha) - she ultimately defeated the Death Stalker, took out all 4 members of BRNZ, finished the Geist, sent Yang flying through the roof, sent Hazel flying through the wall, and there are definitely more badass feats accomplished by our tiny Thor that go unmentioned. Honestly, when it comes down to rankings of who’s the strongest, I think Nora would have a preeeeeetty good standing, and I would probably put money on her being stronger than Ruby once you get past the ‘I’m the main character and so am therefore unable to lose’ thing. Maybe she could even beat Yang properly, who knows? Show some love for Nora.
