Encargo para cypherdrawz en Deviantart :D

Estuve editando algunas partes de la novela y creía que ya casi estaba por terminar. Pero me puse a buscar las reglas de puntuación para diálogos (cuando se usa la raya ‒ ) y resulta que los hice casi todos mal. Yo le había puesto a todos la raya al principio y al final de cada diálogo, pero parece que se pone al final solo si hay un inciso después de lo que se dijo.

A pesar de este error creo que va quedando bien. Probablemente ya pueda entregárselo a la correctora de estilo a final de este mes 😎👌

Perdón si alguna persona ya se cansó de verme hablar de esto en todas las descripciones, pasa que es a lo que le estoy dedicando la mayoría de mi tempo estos días ￣▽￣

I was editing some parts of the novel and I thought it was almost finished. But I looked up the punctuation rules for dialogue (when using the dash ‒ ) and it turns out that I did almost all of them wrong. I put the line at the beginning and end of every dialogue, but apparently it is used at the end only if there is an “inciso” after what was said.

I have no idea the name for it in English, there are not the same rules for writing in English and Spanish so maybe there is not even an equivalent word for that.

Despite this mistake I think it's looking good. I can probably hand it over to the proofreader at the end of this month 😎👌

Sorry if anyone is tired of seeing me talk about this in all the descriptions, but this is what I'm dedicating most of my time to these days. ￣▽￣

Un montón de dibujos y bocetos que vengo haciendo desde hace casi un par de meses en mis sketchbooks. La mayoría los hice durante las clases teóricas en facultad.

Saqué las fotos con los materiales que usé en cada uno. Algunos ya se me acabaron y los tiré, pero creo que están la mayoría.

Estaba pensando de probar promocionar alguna publicación en Instagram. Antes intenté nunca preocuparme mucho con eso de los números y los seguidores porque he visto gente terminar muy estresada y con bloqueo artístico por esas cosas, aparte de que yo quiero poder dibujar y compartir acá lo que se me da la gana ∠( ᐛ 」∠)＿. Pero como eventualmente voy a publicar esta novela sobre mis personajes, creo que sería mucho más fácil de vender si ya tuviera un público interesado en lo que hago, en general creo que tengo que aprender como hacerme publicidad.

A lot of drawings and sketches that I've been doing for almost a couple of months in my sketchbooks. I did most of them during lectures at the university.

I took the photos with the materials I used in each one. I ran out of some and threw them away, but I think most of them are here.

I was thinking about trying to promote a post on Instagram. Before I tried to never worry too much about numbers and followers because I have seen people end up very stressed and with art block due to those things, apart from the fact that I want to be able to draw and share here whatever I want ∠( ᐛ 」∠)＿. But since I'm eventually going to publish this novel about my characters, I think it would be much easier to sell if I already had an audience interested in what I do. In general, I think I have to learn how to advertise myself.

Quería practicar un poco dibujar la elasticidad de la piel y terminé haciendo esta pintura de Nephli :>

Por ahora sigo editando la novela de “La canción de los saltamontes”. Cambié alguna que otra cosa porque del feedback que recibí uno de los problemas que me mencionaron era que los protagonistas hacen todo, mientras que los personajes secundarios son como NPC. También hay demasiadas casualidades haciendo avanzar a la historia, así que estoy intentando darles algo más de sentido a los eventos.

Aparte de eso vi que uso demasiado la coma, cuando a veces deberían de haber puntos. Encontré en Word una opción de text to speech y escuchándola en voz alta noté también que faltaban unas cuantas tildes que el software no reconoció como errores.

Bastantes cosas por hacer, pensé que me iba a quedar mucho más larga. Pero entre lo que borré y lo que reescribí, hasta ahora quedó solo con una página más que antes.

Now I am still editing the novel “The song of the grasshoppers”. I changed a few things because from the feedback I received, one of the problems that was mentioned to me was that the protagonists do everything, while the secondary characters are like NPCs. There are also too many coincidences driving the story forward, so I'm trying to make some more sense of the events.

Apart from that I saw that I use commas too much, when sometimes there should be periods. I found a text to speech option in Word and listening to it out loud I also noticed that there were a few accent marks missing that the software did not recognize as errors.

Quite a few things to do, I thought it was going to end up being much longer. But with what I deleted and what I rewrote, so far it has only one more page than before.

Me parece que me voy a tomar un poco más de tiempo entre un pedido y otro desde ahora. En parte por todos los trabajos que me están mandando de la facultad. Pero también porque ya recibí algunos comentarios sobre mi novela y la quiero empezar a corregir 👀

Por suerte hasta ahora las personas que la terminaron me dijeron que se engancharon leyéndola a pesar de los agujeros en la trama que tiene por ahí. Aunque estoy viendo que con las cosas que podría cambiar probablemente quede más larga.

I think I'm going to take a little more time between orders from now on. Partly because of all the assignments they are giving me from college. But also because I already received some comments about my novel and I want to start correcting it 👀

Luckily until now the people who finished it told me that they got hooked reading it despite the plot holes that it has here and there. Although I'm noticing that with the things I could change it will probably end up being longer.

Estoy considerando contratar lectores beta para mi novela, necesito alguien que la pueda leer más rápido y darme feedback para ya poder pasar a la corrección de estilo. Voy a ofrecer $600 pesos uruguayos a quien pueda leerla y decirme que le parece en un tiempo de dos meses 👊・ω・

Se la había compartido a algunas personas ya, pero creo que todos están muy ocupados con el trabajo o los estudios como para poder dedicarle mucho tiempo a la lectura y yo ya quiero pasar a la siguiente etapa del proceso.

Preferentemente busco gente de Uruguay, opcionalmente que en algún momento tenga la posibilidad de juntarse conmigo para discutir en persona (eso sería en Montevideo, en algún parque, cafetería, etc). Pero si a alguien de otro lado le interesa, tengo la posibilidad de pagar a través de PayPal.

Básicamente sería leer la novela de principio a fin, que tiene 52.000 palabras y 165 páginas, en un periodo de dos meses. Durante el proceso o tras haber terminado de leerla darme tu opinión general, cosas que no se entiendan bien, o que parezcan contradictorias, sin sentido, todo eso que resalta y molesta a la hora de leer. Esto puede ser por escrito o en un audio. La novela se las envío en formato PDF. No es necesario corregir nada o reescribir cosas. Les pagaría $300 por adelantado y el resto al final. Puedo pagar con depósito en Abitab, transferencia con PREX o con PayPal.

También quiero aclarar que la novela ya está desde el año pasado registrada por derecho de autor en la Biblioteca Nacional de Uruguay. También vengo hablando de esta historia y sus personajes desde hace ya más de 5 años. Aclaro estas cosas para espantar a cualquier persona que se dedique a robar el trabajo de otros, si alguien llegara a hacer eso👁️👁️ cometo un crimen de pasión me parece, piro mal.

Encargo para OceanRailroader y su hermano. Él es una de las personas que me viene comprando más dibujos desde hace ya unos cuantos años, creo que el primero fue en 2020. Aunque como la mayoría son bocetos sin colorear de escenas muy locas por lo general no los comparto xd

Para participar en un zine sobre “Mundos en proceso” hice este re-paint de una de las partes del comic que dibujé el año pasado de “La canción de los saltamontes”. El título del zine es “Magpie Nest” y se está organizando en Toyhouse y Discord.

También intenté escribir una traducción de parte del primer capítulo de la novela y de esta que puse después de los dibujos, que es una parte del capitulo 2, para agregar algo de contexto de cuando pasa esta escena.

To participate in a zine about “Worlds in Progress” I made this re-paint of one of the parts of the comic that I drew last year of “The song of the grasshoppers”. The title of the zine is “Magpie Nest” and it is being hosted on Toyhouse and Discord.

I also tried to write a translation of part of the first chapter of the novel and of this one that I put after the drawings, which is a part of chapter 2, to add some context of when this scene happens.

Se me es mucho más fácil conseguir clientes en los foros de Toyhouse que en cualquier otra red social, no sé por qué.

I find it so much easier to get clients on the Toyhouse forums rather than any other social media, I don't know why.

When I receive a message from someone supposedly interested in my commissions on Instagram or Facebook, they are always scams, I think there is not even a real person behind them, they already have everything automated :|

Tal vez tenga que hacer el libro de “La canción de los saltamontes” en formato E-book en vez de impreso, porque para que las ilustraciones sean a color en papel no sé si me da la plata.
