Exploring our internal territories By Edgar Manuel Marcos @edgarmanuelmarcos “My obsession is a #graphic quest with vacillating #foundations, a quest whose object is specifically the model’s #inner significance. I voluntarily #emphasise #spirituality as an #aesthetic criterion, without referencing #hierarchy or a #religious system – a preference for humanism and its strength as #expressed through imagery. I wish to combine the proportions of #abstraction offered by sketching, and I attempt to tame these using ellipsis, yet I establish an accessible #dialogue between the #spectator and what lies upon the #surface of the work. As our perception of what is visible is always ambiguous, and the relationship we foster with reality is permanently open to interpretation, there remains not one but several truths. My work is finally complete when the #mysterious #character of the figure, and the fact that my work involves projects containing several intentionally interconnected images, produce a phenomenon of interiorization. #Art triggers feelings. Performance: Live Painting de Jérôme Royer le 8 avril 2023 à 18h30 @jeroy94 Jérôme Royer dessine depuis son plus jeune âge, guidé par un oncle peintre. A l'école, il reçoit déjà la reconnaissance de ses professeurs et de son entourage. A cette époque, l'art est pour lui un passe-temps et un simple moyen de s'exprimer. Il continue alors ses études et se dirige vers la filière du bâtiment. Pour son Baccalauréat, il choisit l'option art. Il est l'un des rares élèves à recevoir un très bon résultat. Malgré tous ces indices, il continu son chemin professionnel. Il travaille dans une société de construction et arrête de dessiner pendant un certain temps. Les circonstances de la vie le conduisent à quitter cette entreprise, pour devenir dessinateur en bâtiment et en architecture. Les #réseaux #sociaux sont alors le déclencheur de son parcours artistique. Après quelques "posts" de dessins, il est encouragé par bon nombre d'internautes. Il dessine de plus en plus : un dessin par semaine puis un par jour, puis plusieurs par jour... Grâce à tous ces encouragements, il découvre enfin la peinture et plus particulièrement l'aquarelle. Lors de la crise financière, il travaille moins, cela lui permet de perfectionner sa peinture, de trouver des endroits pour exposer... Comme pousser par le destin pour devenir un réel artiste, sur la voie du #professionnalisme et de la reconnaissance. "Nous aurons le destin que nous aurons mérité." (A. Einstein ) Les #arts martiaux, particulièrement l'Aïkido et le #Tai-chi-chuan, sont très importants dans son développement artistique. Grâce à la pratique de ses arts, Il #perfectionne son #geste, manie son #pinceau avec détermination et utilise le #mouvement et l'énergie pour rendre vivant ses tableaux. Il jette la peinture d'un mouvement sec, fait glisser son pinceau sur la toile avec légèreté, #écoute son cœur. The figure as a vehicle of life By Jean René Berlioz “Through my images, I do not wish to impose a #particular #theme or train of thought. The viewers should be free to interpret my #photography and to claim it as their own, according to their #personal #sensitivities. What I do wish to do, above all, is to create an #interaction , a synergy between the #interpreter and the image produced. Using this statement as a starting point, the field of possibility opens up. There is no important or trivial subject – everything lies in the way it is treated. Accordingly, sublime hues can be conferred onto the most #anecdotal of details. The figure is an #element inherent to each of #my #photographs, whatever their #mode of representation. There is nothing more #expressive in my mind, I would even describe it as a vehicle of life. It #crystallises the affective – the emotions we are all impregnated with. Furthermore, it counterbalances the material, which in itself, lies inert. For all that, the material and the living are also indissociable. An artist collective is necessarily a source of major influence in the sense that it allows each artist to amplify the visibility of their work, but also allows the artist to appreciate the evolution of contemporary creation. This exchange primarily takes place through a creative process of mutualization and common initiatives of communication. Expressing a sense of disappointment with the way we live together By Denis Blondel @denis.blondel “Taking part in the DF art Project #primarily means #discovering a #wealth of #talent in an #artistic vein close to mine and feeling part of a family united in common thought. Of course, it also gives me the opportunity to take part in #wonderful #exhibitions that match my artistic #vision. I try to express my view on our #society and #humanity. I feel disappointed in the way we co-exist. Some would argue that this is a #pessimistic viewpoint… to me, it is realistic! I have reduced mankind to its animal, carnal aspects, to tendons and other nerves, often naked, raw and exposed. Intellect no longer serves a purpose, only impulse survives. A yearning for life, death and #destruction. My #figures are but mosquitoes gorged on #blood, waiting to be stamped out. I start with a figure and take it as far as possible towards the non-figurative. Only a few minute points of reference appear.
