Today’s not a festival of women, it’s the international women’s day.

It has originated in a context of political, feminist and proletarian struggles and still exists today with the aim of taking stock of the situation of women in the world and reflecting on what is still to be done to dismantle a system in which gender equality is a utopia. So no, it’s not a celebration.

Here in Italy, my country:

One in two women does not work.

Out of ten executives, only one is a woman.

At least 70% of those who lost their jobs in 2020 are women.

Women earn on average a fifth less than men.

Only one in three Parliamentarians is a woman.

From January to today there were already 12 feminicides.

If you sleep with men, you’re an easy one, a whore.

If you don’t sleep with men, you’re a difficult one, a teasing one.

If they rape you "it’s your fault! What did you expect, you knew how you were dressed".

"You’re so sensitive, you can’t be told anything".

A woman has to take care for the family.

A woman is a mother.

A woman is sensitive.

A woman is cure.

And more and more and more.

Women don’t want flowers, a golden wattle.

What we want is equality, respect and solidarity.

What we want is to be heard and seen.

Sharing a little bit of myself here, hoping that it can be helpful for whoever is feeling down.

So... I’m going through a hard time these days cause I have a very important exam in two days and I feel like I can’t remember a thing, no matter how hard I’m studying, and honestly it’s so frustrating cause I think that I can’t make it. So my anxiety takes over and the thought is that I will fail...and in my brain, failure means that I am a failure.

But as John Lennon said “everything will be ok in the end, if it’s not ok, it’s not the end”

It won’t be the end if the college exam doesn’t go the way you expected it to.

It won’t be the end if what you planned doesn’t go your way.

You have to take things as they come.

It’s ok to feel all the emotions.

It’s ok to have bad day.

It’s ok not to have all the answers.

It’s ok to make mistakes.

It’s ok to fail.

It’s ok if it’s not ok.

Embrace the journey, trust the struggle.

Cause you’re not alone and this is not the end.

Need help for my laser operation

A couple of hours ago I had my appointment at a hospital specialized only in eyesight and they confirmed to me that I have keratoconus. A disease that affects the cornea in a gradual way that occurs mainly due to rubbing the eyes too much. My doctor told me that the only treatment I can apply is a laser operation which is a bit expensive.

Here are some pics of the total cost for my first (and I hope is just one) operation writtited by my own doctor.

It’s written in Spanish because I’m South American specifically from Peru. The translation says that my first and most important operation per eye is 5.800 soles which to dollar change in my country is 1,606 dollars and unfortunately I need to have a operation on BOTH eyes which the final amount will be 3,213 dollars. I know, is a lot of money and I don’t even gonna go to public service because they would left me blind because is so bad (Public service here sucks).

So I know I’m probably asking a lot and this pandemic situation is not the best for many of us. But if you even could donate me 1 dollar I will thank you so much, any amount is well received ❤️
