I just think it’s crazy to act like this is an MCYT thing. Have you guys heard of what comedians fucking do? How rockstars and other artists have behaved in private? Even in online spaces, are you familiar with what happened in the Smash community?
Y’all we don’t know these people and there is are myriad ways anyone can make very harmful decisions or even just do harmful fuck ups (not referring to Wilbur on the latter, his was a continuous decision over time to engage in gross abuse), it should not be surprising that some of them will not live up to what they should. Yet that doesn’t mean content creation in the streaming genre is uniquely doomed,,,
Some people in positions of power will abuse that power, some will have sought out power specifically for that purpose, simple as.
Doesn’t make it okay, or not worthy of getting angry about, certainly not, but are some of these people just now learning that people we liked can turn out to be bad? Why do you think you have to tear down the community and start over to fix it, or even that that is possible or feasible?
This is how communities have been since the beginning of time, it’s just easier to find out about now that we have the internet and social norms about acceptable treatment of others are stronger thanks to the rise of the left online.
We can understand that something is impossible as a community to fully prevent and still stand against it while not deeming the community beyond repair :|

Not gonna tell you niggas what you can and can’t do… but with the small influx of k*nk oriented blogs that follow me and the weirdo drama going around this is just here for ground rules.
If you think explicitly k*nk/fetish/nsfw blogs can interact with minors, block me.
If you think protecting minors online falls more onto the minors themselves than the adults, block me.
If you only see tickling or any other action that’s not *inherently* or *exclusively* intimate through the myopic view of your own sexual and romantic feelings, literally fuck off.
I’ve spent about half of my life defending myself from people who try to tell me that my platonic feeling are romantic, that my platonic feelings are sexual. If you’re gonna sexualize autistic people’s’ special interests and sexualize asexual/aromantic or even regular peoples’ feelings then you can go to hell. You don’t know more about how other people feel than they do.
This community is big enough that everyone Can mind their own fucking business and find people who think the way that they do without harassing the people that don’t. Get a hobby. Get a job. Damn nigga.

do you support pro shipping?? /genq
not really. I have complicated thoughts on shipcourse and black and white labels don't really work for me in this situation. but despite that I'm willing to make explicitly proship or antiship emojis. the ones I just posted are meant to have a neutral connotation.

Seeing tumblr discourse on asexual Crowley Aziraphale headcanons and wether ace or gay are better is soooo stupid
Let them be ace AND fuck nasty if they want or not at all, either way is great. Just don’t be a bastard and say anything’s canon when it just isn’t cos it makes people feel bad for their ideas and they way they wanna portray their idea of the duo

i saw your one reblog and wanted to genuinely ask - do you support mspec lesbians and gays? /npa /genq
As someone who identifies as asexual, I've always been a big believer in split attraction. If people can be asexual but also biromantic, why can't someone be biromantic and homosexual? So yeah, I do support mspec lesbians and gays. Same goes for he/him lesbians and she/her gays.
I feel like it isn't fair to say they're not valid. Infighting in this community is so...disheartening, and no one knows what another person's experiences are. As long as it's not actively hurting people, why tell someone they can't identify in a way that makes them feel at home in their body?
I'm sorry if that's disappointing, I know it's heavily debated and stuff. I just- as someone who has been told that I don't belong in the community for being ace, I don't think they should be invalidated.

Suddenly struck with a need to explain to you how boat pronouns work (I work in the marine industry).
When you're talking about the design of the boat, you say "it".
When the boat is still being built, your say "it".
When the boat is nearing completion, you can say "it" or "she".
When the boat is floating in the water you probably say "she", unless there is still a lot of work to be done (e.g. no engine yet) then you say "it".
When the boat is officially launched and operating, you say "she". If you continue to say "it" at this point you are not incorrect but suspiciously untraditional. You are not playing the game.
If you are referring to a boat you don't really know anything about you may say "it" ("there's a big boat, it's coming this way"). But if you know its name, it's probably "she" ("there's the Waverley, she's on her way to Greenock").
If you are talking about boats in general, you say "it" ("when a boat is hit by a wave it heels over")
If you speak about a boat in complimentary terms, it's "she" ("she's a grand boat"). If you are being disparaging it may be it, but not necessarily ("it's as ugly as sin", "she's a grotty old tub").
If she has a boy's name, she's still she. "Boy James", "King Edward", "Sir David Attenborough"? The pronoun is she.
If it's a dumb barge (no engine), you say it. But if it's a rowing boat (no engine), you say she.
I hope this has cleared things up so that you may not be in danger of misgendering floating objects.

yall have got to be more normal about Southern people and I'm not kidding. enough of the Sweet Home Alabama incest jokes, enough of the idea that all Southerners are bigots and rednecks, and enough of the idea that the South has bad food. shut up about "trailer trash" and our accents and our hobbies!
do yall know how fucking nauseating it is to hear people only bring up my state to make jokes about people in poverty and incestuous relationships? how much shame I feel that I wasn't born up north like the Good Queers and Good Leftists with all the Civilised Folk with actual houses instead of small cramped trailers that have paper thin walls that I know won't protect me in a bad enough storm?
do yall know how frustrating it is to be trans in a place that wants to kill you and whenever you bring it up to people they say "well just move out" instead of sympathizing with you or offering help?
do yall understand how alienating it is to see huge masterposts of queer and mental health resources but none of them are in your state because theyre all up north? and nobody seems to want to fix this glaring issue because "they're all hicks anyways"
Southern people deserve better. we deserve to be taken seriously and given a voice in the queer community and the mental health space and leftist talks in general.

Watching this all go down when you used to have such investment in these people gives it an extra layer of funny. My heart used to sink when a creator I liked badmouthed Dream. I felt shellshocked for days after the news came out in October. Now I’m sitting here like “TEAAA omg Tommy you messy bitch DRAG HIM BY HIS HOODIE STRINGS slay!!!”

I just think that 'animals are living intelligent creatures that have feelings and deserve to be respected' and 'when done properly farming is beneficial to both people and animals and there's nothing wrong with raising and killing animals for food, clothing, and other products' are concepts that very much can and should coexist

Shipping fictional characters isn’t representative of your moral values. It’s representative of your particular psychic damage and the themes and motifs that haunt you. Hope this helps.

It’s important to recognise that Barbie (2023) criticises both the patriarchy AND the matriarchy. Yes, the Ken’s are just accessories to the Barbies. Yes, they don’t have any say in the government they live under. That’s the point, you’re supposed to feel awful, you’re supposed to want the Kens to have their own agency, you’re supposed to want equality. The Barbie movie explicitly states that the way Barbie treats Ken is wrong, so much so that once he finds a safe space for his masculinity and individual identity he’s so excited to share it with the other Kens.
But they go overboard and replace a matriarchy with a patriarchy and now the same issue exists but in reverse. That’s the POINT!! THATS THE POINT!!! Barbie is not anti-men it’s pro equality PLEASE understand this
13th Aug 2023 UPDATE:
Heeeeey howdy!!
Due to the IMMENSE comments and discussion on this post (thanks ya’ll!!) I’ve decided to update my post with my recent opinions and hopefully clearer explanations!!
First, my original post only considers a very small and very vague analysis of the film!!
Since making this I've read all your comments and learned quite a bit about the matriarchy as it appears in human civilisation. Originally, I was pitting the patriarchy and the matriarchy against each other as though the results of their implementation were equal in the film.
They were not!! Below is the definition of matriarchy I’ll be working off of.
Matriarchy Simple Definition;
Matriarchy is a social system in which women hold the primary power positions in roles of authority. In a broader sense it can also extend to moral authority, social privilege and control of property.
There's a lot to talk about in the Barbie film that would fit better in an essay, so I'll try and condense it into this;
To me, Barbie (2023) is a film about the female experience and the shared connection between women that persists through childhood and adulthood, support and harassment, suffering and joy, mother and daughter.
It uses Barbie as its figurehead because of the immense societal and political impact the doll has had on women, both good and bad (as explained in the film).
The male experience as seen in Barbie (2023) is not the sole focus of the film- rather, it's an accessory (as the Kens are) to Barbie's story, and a necessary aspect of exploration to truly highlight the importance of individualism and healthy personal exploration.
I want to make clear that I in no way think the treatment of the Kens was just as bad as the treatment of the Barbies. I also still agree that the matriarchy fostered by the Barbies wasn’t good for the Kens.
Additionally, I’m aware that this take on Barbie (2023) works strictly within the assumed heteronormative boundaries of gender. There is a lot of nuance in the Barbie film and I don’t think everything can be covered or explained in on Tumblr post— but I hope this clarification helps!!
I hope you're all coming to your own conclusions and analysis of the film in a way that makes sense to you. And for those of you engaging in online conversations and discourse about it, I hope you're keeping yourself and others happy and safe!!!
Much love to you all!! < 3
