ICE THE MOST DECEPTIVE
Tumblr media
Elsa x Hans, Ahtohallan Multiverse, All Is Found, Angst, Good!Hans, Drabble
Hans's arm went round Elsa's waist and she leaned her head on his shoulder.
They stood in front of a large triangular window and a majestic waterfall of Northern Lights washed over them from above.
Elsa loved this so much. Her life. Him. Gone were the days when she had those strange feelings and dreams of scary forests, when she suspected Hans of something he hadn't done. What was it? She'd already forgotten. They were destined to meet and be together as Anna always said. Her little princess is so romantic. Queen Elsa was happy here in Arendelle with her parents, with her sister Anna and her husband - the newly minted Lord Kristoff of Arendelle - and with the true love of hers, Admiral Hans Westergaard.
If sometimes in the long and cold winter nights she began to feel something, that strange uneasiness and sense of loss; if a sense of wrongness overcame her she always found refuge in Hans' arms, in his confident words. How could it be wrong? How they can be wrong?
And now standing beside him, she turned and hugged him tighter, pressing her cheek to the collar of his unbuttoned white uniform.
"What is it, my snow queen?" asked Hans with a smile. "A nightmare again?"
"It's nothing."
But…why then did he suddenly smell of wind and chase and ice?...
Why did she feel so cold?
Cold usually never bothered her.
Elsa raised her head in horror, watching the frost covering the walls of their royal bedroom, turning it into a glacial cave.
She looked at Hans, and his words, his last words of impossible love and affection were drowned out by the Voice.
A-A-AH-AAH!… His arms wanted to embrace her… AH-AH, AH, OH!...
...that white blindness...the dam broke.
Tumblr media
And Elsa the Fifth Spirit opens her eyes. She is in Ahtohallan. The icy statue of Prince Hans stretches out his arms to her, his face has an uncharacteristic expression of love and concern; and Anna is standing on the wintry sea shore and calling her back. Elsa sighs in relief.

Elsa x Daughter reader
Title: Frozen Legacy
Once upon a time, in the magnificent kingdom of Arendelle, Queen Elsa ruled with grace and power. Her icy magic had transformed the land into a winter wonderland, and her heart was filled with love for her people. But hidden away from the public eye, a new chapter was about to unfold for Elsa. She had a daughter, a young princess with the power of ice, and she was about to embark on an extraordinary journey.
The little princess, [Reader], had inherited her mother's stunning looks and shimmering white hair. From a young age, she displayed an immense curiosity about her own magical abilities. Queen Elsa, understanding the importance of nurturing her daughter's powers, became [Reader]'s mentor, teaching her the ways of controlling and embracing her icy gift.
Every evening, as the sun began to set, Elsa would take [Reader] to the secret chambers of the palace. There, amidst shimmering ice sculptures and gentle snowflakes, they would practice their powers together. Elsa guided [Reader] through intricate movements, teaching her how to conjure snowstorms and sculpt beautiful ice formations.
But it wasn't all training and lessons. Queen Elsa cherished their time together, and often, they would venture into the kingdom, using their magic to create dazzling displays for the people of Arendelle. The townspeople marveled at the sight, never knowing that the Queen's magic was shared by her own daughter.
As [Reader] grew older, her bond with Elsa only grew stronger. They shared laughter, stories, and dreams, all the while creating an unbreakable mother-daughter bond. Elsa watched in awe as [Reader]'s powers grew, surpassing even her own abilities. The young princess had a natural affinity for magic, and it brought immense pride to the Queen's heart.
One fateful day, however, a powerful force descended upon Arendelle. A malevolent sorcerer, jealous of Elsa's powers, sought to claim them for himself. With an army of dark creatures, he attacked the kingdom, spreading chaos and destruction. Elsa knew she had to protect her people, but she couldn't bear the thought of leaving [Reader] behind.
With a heavy heart, Elsa turned to [Reader] and said, "My dear, I must face this threat head-on, but I cannot do it alone. Will you stand by my side and help me protect our kingdom?"
[Reader] looked into her mother's determined eyes and nodded. "I will be right beside you, Mother. Together, we shall face any challenge."
With their powers combined, Queen Elsa and [Reader] fought bravely against the sorcerer's forces. Ice and snow clashed with dark magic, creating a mesmerizing spectacle of light and shadow. The bond between mother and daughter proved unyielding, as they used their magic to shield one another from harm.
In the end, love and courage triumphed over darkness. Queen Elsa and [Reader] stood victorious, their kingdom restored to its former glory. The people of Arendelle hailed them as heroes, unaware of the true extent of [Reader]'s powers or her royal lineage.
With peace restored, Elsa and [Reader] resumed their lives, continuing to guide and inspire the people of Arendelle. The young princess blossomed into a wise and compassionate leader, her icy magic bringing joy and wonder to the kingdom.
And so, the legacy of Queen Elsa lived on through her daughter, [Reader], as they ruled side by side, forever bound by their love and the power of their magic. Their story would be remembered throughout the ages, a testament to the strength of family and the indomitable spirit of Arendelle.

Hans' cold heart explained through 'The Snow Queen' | Theory | Analysis
I've seen posts that say Hans was actually hypnotized by the trolls on his way to the mountain, turning "evil" and though one wouldn't clearly see this possible or something the innocent trolls would do, after reading the Snow Queen, I believe that instead it's just used as a metaphor for Hans to show us that really just like Kai, there is a warm genuine heart underneath that cold blanket that covers it. If you read @a13thprincefora13thprincess's Who is this Hans? post (sorry I keep mentioning you every time I mention Hans, but your analysis is just that good! It changed my perception further on Hans - It could do to more!), it will allow you to see the sudden change in Hans' from good to evil and his reasons for his actions, scene by scene, frame by frame. She also mentions that Hans is actually the mirror in 'The Snow Queen', while as we all know, Elsa is the Snow Queen. However I also believe that both Elsa and Hans have elements of Kai too; while Anna is full on Gerda with the warm heart with Elsa/ Kai as their "true love" (in different forms) and Hans seems to be the one with the sudden cold heart. While we first see him as a genuine warm hearted man,
Tumblr media
he's later shown to be a cold hearted one just like Kai was, though he was eventually saved by Gerda with an act of true love (just like Elsa was saved from Hans (the mirror and the cold hearted Kai) by Anna).
Tumblr media
In the original story telling, Kai was struck by the mirror that the trolls made, but in 'Frozen' they're friendly, loving and family to Kristoff, so I don't think the trolls may have a direct impact on Hans' cold heart turn but then again you never know. Frozen is full of its glorious twists!
Breakdown of the original in the retelling
Originally, the trolls made the mirror to distort the appearance of everything it reflects showing the opposite of what actually is. They take the mirror all over the world and distort everything then they go on their way to God and the angels with the mirror to shove it their faces. But on the way, the mirror trembles and falls shattering into a billion pieces. Some get struck in the eye and sike in the heart making the warm hearts, turn cold. One shard struck Kai in the eye making him cold hearted. Kai had a best friend named Gerda and roses were their favourite flower as they grew in the play area they played in. Hence it is a symbolism of their love. After being struck, on a summers day, Kai goes off to the Snow Queen's ice palace. When Winter comes round, Gerda decides to find Kai believing he's still alive. On her way, in search of Kai, she befriends a few people. She also collects a horse, carriage and boots so she stays warm. At the ice palace, finally having found Kai, she shows him an act of true love with a kiss and thaws his cold heart getting rid of the shard in it too.
Now as we know, the movie isn't a direct retelling of the classic but it does keep some key elements to it. Instead of friends and being different genders, the main two protagonists are sisters, named Elsa and Anna. And the Snow Queen is Elsa with the given powers. When they were younger and they played together they built a snowman, named Olaf and it's a symbolism of their bond. But there comes a point when Elsa loses control of her powers and actually strikes Anna in the head. The family goes to the trolls who aren't evil but are the good wise ones and replace Elsa's magic in Anna's memory, with the two playing in the snow. Fearing Elsa might accidentally hurt Anna again, she locks herself in her room for years causing the sisters to fall apart. At the coronation when it's accidentally revealed Elsa has powers, she runs off to the North mountain where it's colder and more isolated and there she builds an ice palace. Just before the coronation, on summers day, Anna meets Hans, a handsome prince who she falls in love with - the warm hearted Kai. But with Elsa running off, Anna goes after her on a horse. On the way to find Elsa, Anna befriends a few people just as Gerda does. But as she does so, she is offered winter attire including a pair of boots. Given that Elsa accidentally froze the sea and hence the kmad, it's now an eternal winter. One of those friends who Anna befriends, is Kristoff who has a reindeer and a sleigh instead of a horse and a carriage. A few minutes after Anna's arrival at Elsa's palace, Elsa accidentally strikes her again but this time in the heart. When Anna is taken to trolls by Kristoff, who's his adopted family, they tell her to seek an act of true love. Anna believes her true love is Hans and seeks him for a kiss, like how Kai and Gerda do. But upon arrival to Hans, he turns out to be evil, almost as if he was stuck by the mirrors shard like Kai was in the original telling, and hence leaves Anna to die without a kiss even though he knows it wouldn't have worked anyways. Before Anna's arrival to Hans, he holds Elsa imprisoned but after she escapes she hears Anna's of Anna's death. "The shard in the eye, Kai" Hans attempts to kill Elsa but Anna sees this. At this point Anna can see Kristoff loves him truly rather than Hans but upon seeing her sister accept death she stands before Hans and saves Elsa from Hans as she literally becomes frozen. This was the act of true love that was needed and for the story just as Kai and Gerda's kiss was as it saves the other. And Elsa, realising love is the key, brings back summer in parallel to Kai and Gerda's return to their homes in summer.
Who will thaw Han's cold heart?
In the movie, Hans just gets sent back home to the family he wished to escape from given his traumatic past from the abuse from his father and brothers. As I've said, he's the shard in Kai's heart becoming the cold hearted Kai. Though it would make sense given the sudden change to Hans character, it also doesn't seem like something the trolls would do despite their own magic being capable of messing with minds. It's more of a metaphor to show that just like Kai, he was struck by a "shard" that turned him cold but can be brought back with true love. That shard may not be the trolls magic or a literal/ magical mirror shard but rather metaphoric shard for the stress Hans endures being under pressure from the responsibility of being out in charge. From finding Anna, to finding a solution for Elsa to end this winter, to making sure the people are kept warm etc. Anyone out in charge in the situation Hans was, would for sure feel the stress and end of taking it out on people and saying crazy stuff. So now you wonder who will save him from the cold heart? Given Anna saved Elsa as an act of the unconditional family love, one would now think that Hans' brothers or even father would save him from his, right? But sometimes true love isn't the same for everyone at least not in some circumstances. Elsa and Anna were always close, right from the start. Hans' brothers weren't. With a family of 13 brothers it's expected that some would have different dynamics given being in line with the throne and also given the oldest middle youngest dynamic too and other things would impact too. So what Hans needs is love of an understanding of not being loved and not ever being a monarchy and if you've read my Elsa losing her powers & Hans' Redemption post then you know exactly where I'm going with this. It's Elsa. Want to know why it is? Why would Elsa be the one for Hans, just read this linked post regarding Hans' redemption.
Conclusion
So the point is that the "shard" in 'The Snow Queen' is the metaphor for the anger that Anna feels, fear Elsa feels and stress is what Hans feels. Just as "Fixer Upper" explains, “People make bad choices if they're mad, or scared, or stressed. But throw a little love their way.. and you'll bring out their best. True love brings doubt the best.”. Anna was mad at Elsa for shutting her out and rejecting her marriage proposal. Elsa was scared of hurting Anna and others accidentally. Hans was stressed being in the situation he was being in charge of the kingdom.
As far as the characters compare,
Hans is the mirror shard in Kai's heart and hence the cold hearted Kai - having two faces, genuine and a cold hearted one
Elsa is the Snow Queen and Kai - having the powers of the Snow Queen and having a close bond with the other protagonist
And Anna is Gerda - having the warmest heart and saving their loved one from a cold heart

Heart beats fast
She stood there scared yet hopeful as he sat on the sill of her open window holding out his hand where a snowflake was floating. His vibrant blue eyes were kind and shining with laughter and joy. Her heart we beating loud and clear in her chest and she feared he could hear her. But seeing him smile she suddenly felt comforted. Hearing him speak made her smile the brightest she had in her life. "I'm just like you."
His name was Jack Frost, and he was the Spirit of Winter. But that did not matter to her. Nor did it matter that no one else could see him. She knew she could, and she knew why. For so long she had wanted to believe that there was someone else out there. Someone who would have the same powers as her. Someone who would teach her to control them. So when she read the myth on Jack Frost, the Spirit of Winter, one who had control over snow and ice just as she had, Elsa had dared to hope and believe. She had carried that belief with her since childhood, even when she turned seventeen, and was a year away from becoming an adult. She saw him peering through her window, as she amused herself with a few dancing snowflakes, and had cried out in shock. He had been surprised at her crying out, though later he had whooped with joy. Because her fright meant she could see him, which no one had ever done before.
It was the beginning of a lifelong friendship.
                                            ————————–
Colors and promises
Blue was happiness for her.
Amber was anger.
Purple when she was sad.
Red when she was frightened.
But what about White?
Pure white ice was certainly new. And as she gazed at the little figurine of Jack she frowned in thought. They had always been blue in the past. Why White now?
Maybe because she had made that little figurine while making a promise?
A promise that she would fulfill till the end of time.
Promise that she would never forget about him.
Ever.
                                            ————————–
How to be brave?
"I can't do it Jack!" Her voice was broken, a sob catching in her throat as she fell to her knees in front of her friend, her arms wrapped around herself in an attempt to feel less alone. Less frightened. But with her parents gone, the room completely frozen because of her powers, her sister having just left her, after sitting for hours against the door, Elsa had never felt so alone.
"Yes you can! Elsa look at me!" Warm hands cupped her cheeks tilting her head to look in her eyes. His hands looked cold but to her they were warm. "You're stronger and braver then you will ever know." He whispered, his voice strong." You will rule Arendelle. The fairest Queen the world has ever known. Brave and strong for her people even when she had just lost her own parents."
                                            ————————–
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall?
All her life she had lived afraid. Afraid for the people around her. Afraid for her parents. Her sister. Afraid of herself. Her powers. The one thing that set her apart from all those around her. But she only saw that as a bad thing. It made her feel like an outsider. They made her feel unsafe. They could be destructible. They could be horrifying. Which was why she was so afraid when she found the true extent of her feelings for Jack.
                                            ————————–
But watching you stand alone,
Sometimes she envied Jack. He had complete control over his abilities. He never made a single mistake. He never let his emotions rule him, which was what she had always done. But right then watching him stand on the balcony of her deceased father's study, she could not help but wish that he may have someone he would love. Like she loved him.
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow
                                            ————————–
He took away all insecurities. He took away every bad feeling. He was her friend. He vowed to help her no matter what she went through. She had accepted it graciously, as a future Queen should, but as soon as he had thrown a snowball at her she had quickly burst into laughter tackling him to the ground like she used to do when she was still a teenager.
                                            ————————–
Time stands still
With him it felt like she could do anything. He brought the laughter she had never thought herself to be capable of. With him time simply stood still. With him everything made sense. Her powers. Her smiles. Her heart. And her love for him.
And when he gave her the necklace as a gift for her coronation Elsa could not help the smile as she clasped the snowflake shaped necklace around her neck. And as it rested beneath the fabric of her coronation gown, cool against her otherwise trembling body it gave her all the strength she needed to believe in herself, even for a little while, as she felt the crown being placed upon her head.
                                            ————————–
Beauty in all she is
Elsa tilted her head watching Jack curiously as his cheeks colored. His normally pale face was red, or rather his cheeks were, and for reasons unknown to her, he would not meet her eye. He had been acting weird. Perhaps it was the fact she had left and was now living in a palace she made herself? Or maybe her dress, it was rather strange, but she liked it. Or perhaps the necklace he gave her which still hung around her neck. And when he complimented her, her own cheeks flushed her heart beating fast and loud in her chest, as she smiled shyly.
                                            ————————–
I will be brave
"Promise me!" Jack exclaimed his voice pleading as he knelt in front of her. Elsa sobbed loudly as she shook her head.
"I can't Jack." She whimpered her arms hugging her chest as her legs trembled underneath her. Suddenly she felt his arms wrap themselves around her pulling her close, hugging her tightly. Elsa stiffened at the contact, having not touched another human in so long.
But as she felt him drop a soft kiss on top of her head her erratic breathing began to steady, her sobs quietening as she gripped the front of his shirt tightly afraid he would disappear or worse, that he would recoil from her. Or that she would hurt him like she did her sister. But Jack did nothing of the sort. Instead he simply pulled her closer.
"Promise me you will be brave Elsa." She nodded. "I will be brave Jack." Neither of them noticed how the palace around them seemed to glow white.
                                            ————————–
I will not let anything take away
"No!" The scream was filled with anguish. One that ripped through the very souls of those who heard it. No one knew why she shouted, they were too busy in trying to bring her down. Her. The monster. Jack had tried to protect her. But he had not seen the sword coming. He had not seen it as it descended on top of his head knocking him out. It was an accident on the guard's part. For he could not see Jack. No one could. But seeing him lie on the floor like that, unmoving and unresponsive she felt anger rising from within her. An anger that frightened her yet gave her strength to attack the guards in retaliation. She was not letting them take away the only best thing that could ever have happened to her.
                                            ————————–
What's standing in front of me
"Jack!" The cry tore past her lips the second she stepped back into the palace. Her heart was lighter. She felt free. The kingdom was once again as it was before. She had made amends with her sister. Hans was behind bars and could not hurt anyone ever again. But she had been thinking about him. Had been thinking of breaking out of prison to see him and rescue him. Make sure he was alright. She had only just climbed the stairs of the palace when she had seen him exit through the window above her. He had stopped in mid-air staring down at her as if she were some form of illusion. But suddenly she felt his arms around her, the ground falling away from her feet as Jack hugged her, the wind lifting them away. Was it Jack's command or perhaps a little trick on the wind's part. Elsa did not know neither did she care. Laughing, tears of relief shining in her eyes she hugged him back, her heart bursting with happiness.
                                            ————————–
Every breath
How could it have gone so? As the fire surrounded her from all sides, Elsa clasped the small child in her arms, trying to keep her safe. She was hurt. Her head was spinning and she had inhaled too much smoke. Her powers would not come to her strong enough to stop the fire. The Queen was already too injured and exhausted for that. She knew she would not be able to last long, but maybe the child could. She glanced at the child. Calling up on the last of her strength she created a cradle of ice. Placing the child in the cradle she kissed her forehead, as the child looked up at her wide blue eyes. Eyes a lot like her own.
"Be safe little niece. Keep watch over your mother and father for me." She cooed, letting the baby grip her much bigger finger. Waving her hand she inscribed one last message to her sister. A message in ice, kissed the baby's head once more, whispered a blessing, before sending the baby sliding down the message chute, it being only big enough to fit the cradle which was the size of the child. The fire around her was getting intense, it was licking at the hem of her dress, now destroyed from smoke. Suddenly the roof above her creaked. Blue eyes shot heavenward just in time to see the ceiling collapse. Wood and debris rained down her weak body. Elsa collapsed, crying out as a rather heavy beam landed on her leg.
                                            ————————–
Every hour has come to this
Instincts kicked in, and she tried her best to push it off but what little strength she had was leaving her and the smoke was making her vision hazy not to mention the smoke inside her. It was hopeless she knew it now. As she lost the last of her strength Elsa lay on the ground, smoke filling her lungs, searing heat all around her, her eyes turned heavenward, her thoughts turning to her sister, her brother in law, Olaf and finally Jack. A smile crept on her face as she thought of the boy with silver hair and eyes so blue they rivaled her own. A trembling hand slowly lifted to pull at the necklace resting against her neck, her fingers curled around it as tightly as they could given her limited strength. It unclasped from around her neck. It was cool despite the searing heat around her. Slowly her eyes started to close, her vision nearly obscured from the smoke. "I love you Jack Frost." She whispered to the wind, hoping it would carry her message to the Spirit of Winter.
Her eyes were on the full moon as it shone through the gaping hole. It was the last thing she saw. The last source of comfort. And then everything went black.
As her body stilled her hand fell at her side the necklace slipping from between her slender fingers.
                                            ————————–
One step closer
I have died every day waiting for you Darling, don't be afraid I have loved you For a thousand years I'll love you for a thousand more
                                            ————————–
Darkness. That's the first thing she remembered. It was dark, and it was cold. And she was scared. Slowly blue eyes blinked open. They were bright yet they held fear in them. Fear of the unknown. But, then she saw the moon. It was so big and it was so bright. Her chest heaved as she took a deep shuddering breath, feeling it relax her tense muscles. She lifted her head, pressing a hand against it as she sat up, her movements slow and languid, her blue eyes never leaving the beautiful bright body that shone from the heavens. It seemed to chase the darkness away. And when it did, she wasn't scared anymore.
A small almost shy smile made its way to her face as she pushed herself to her feet. Her gaze turned to take in her surroundings. Everything was black and burned. Had there been a fire? If so why was she still alive? Why she was there and what she was meant to do, she didn't know. But then she saw something. Lying on the ground was what looked like a snowflake. She stepped forward, reaching down to inspect further. No. Not a snowflake. A necklace. With the chain broken. Her hand flew to her throat, finding it bare. Picking up the piece of jewel she stood up, not noting how she stood, poised and graceful. Her finger touched the snowflake and a name rang in her mind. One that made her heart speed up and her eyes widen in surprise.
Jack Frost.
Was that why she was here? Her gaze turned to the moon once more. She voiced her thoughts but received no answer. Instead the moon shone brighter, the light falling on a particular spot. She was hesitant for a second before walking towards the lit pathway. As she walked, she felt as if someone was whispering in her ears. The voice was calm and loving. Protective even. It kept saying a name. Elsa. Over and over. Was that her name? A smile pulled at her lips and then suddenly there was a shower of snowflakes all around her. She gasped, and the snowflakes stopped moving. Was she the one who caused these snowflakes? Her gaze turned to the moon before dropping to the necklace. Her lips pursed in a determined manner, she gripped the broken chain of the necklace, brow furrowed in concentration. A surprised gasp escaped her lips as there was a slight glow emanating from her hands, and the chain resealed.
Her name was Elsa, the Snow Queen. How did she know that? The moon told her so. But that was all he ever told her. And that was a long, long time ago.
One step closer

Frozen memories #001
My Frozen story - Part 1
It's the end of October which means it's time for me to reminisce about another year of experiences with the Frozen franchise. What's extra special this time though is of course the upcoming Frozen 10th anniversary as well as an opportunity to share it with more than just a few close friends 🙂
I never saw the original Frozen in theatres. Back then in late 2013, I was relatively fresh out of school, unemployed and didn’t have much time or interest to engage in media fandoms of any kind. Things got better the following year as I attended university, beginning my studies in structural engineering and urban planning. Despite having to travel a lot every day and trying to keep up with my studies, life was relatively simple. You did the same thing every day. I was not the most sociable person but I was making good progress getting to know and working together with my fellow peers. Most of them were fresh from high school while I had been studying a bit before applying for uni so I was a little bit older than most of them.
Being in my early twenties, animation or Disney wasn't exactly anything I was paying attention to. I couldn't remember the last time I watched a Disney movie and I think I was feeling a bit out of touch with fandom culture in general.
Entering October, I happened to notice that ABC's fantasy TV-series Once upon a time was coming back for a fourth season. This wasn’t anything out of the ordinary and I had actually never watched the show before (only briefly in an ad and I remember the CGI looked really bad 🤣) but thanks to my local newspaper, I learned that actor Georgina Haig was gonna play a new role in the show. I was very fond of this Aussie gal since her small role as Henrietta in the sci-fi series Fringe 2012-2013 so I was very excited to see what her new character was about.
With hindsight, I know for sure that without Georgina’s involvement, the show would have never caught my attention. And my goodness, did this change my life 😃
Oh, and that newspaper highlight? I rediscovered it a couple of years ago👇
Tumblr media
For those of you who (shockingly) can't read Swedish, here's what it said:
Ask about TV Elsa, queen of ice, shows up and it gets cold in Storybrooke.
Will there be new episodes of the fairy tale series? In "Once upon a time" we got to know several fairy tale characters. In the last season, Emma and Hook travelled through time which messed things up for Snow White and the Prince, and Robin Hood and Lady Marion were reunited. When the series is back in Channel 11 on October 20th, a recap episode will be broadcasted at 7PM before the saga continues at 8PM. Queen Elsa of Arendelle (Georgina Haig) shows up.
I obviously had no idea who Queen Elsa of Arendelle was (I barely even knew what story she was from). I was aware that the movie Frozen was a thing and I had seen the teaser with Olaf and Sven around Christmas 2013 but it had left no impression on me whatsoever. I had a vague idea that the song Let it go had become very popular but I didn't understand the fuss behind it. Yet.
October 20th, 2014. My first introduction to the Arendelle sisters👇
Tumblr media
It’s hard to describe exactly what my initial reaction to watching the first few episodes was. In general (since I had no experience with the show) I was of course confused about what was going on but the consistency of the Frozen-story definitely helped. Much later on, having seen the entire series, I understood much better how the characters and their story tied into the main plot and especially Emma Swan’s character development. But at the time, it was just cool to take part of some new and (to me) pretty unique fantasy storytelling in a modern setting. For any true Oncers out there, regardless of the quality of the show as a whole, I'm sure you would agree that it was a heck of a fun ride while it lasted!
I knew for sure that I had found something that I truly loved and that was pretty rare for me. Several years back I had been pretty passionate about other franchises like Star Wars, Stargate, Fringe and Hannibal but this modern fairy-tale world was truly something different. And I know a lot of that can be said to be thanks to the Frozen-story. No offence to the main cast, but I would be lying if I didn't credit Georgina, Elizabeth Lail (Anna), Scott Michael Foster (Kristoff) and Elizabeth Mitchell (Ingrid) as the true stars of the fourth season for me! They truly helped bring their characters to life and I still can’t picture anyone else playing them outside of animation (looking at you, Frozen live action-rumours). It should also be said that compared to the rest of the show’s characters, the Frozen characters did have a very strong presence on screen, a look and a feel that was carried over beautifully to the small live-action screen. I may not have known it at the time, but it would be equally true for the original movie.
About four weeks into the season, I knew for sure that I had found something that truly resonated with med and I knew I had to watch the "source material". But that will be a thing to cover in Part 2. 😉
See ya soon!

Frozen 2 Theory: What If the director willingly left seeds for a possible 3rd installmeant?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Totally personal, but the more I analyze it, the more I notice some sort of pattern around Frozen 2: the movie is very careful at showing in its opening WHAT idea Anna and Elsa had of themselves before the Accident (which, following Jennifer Lee prespective, happened that same night), and how that tragic event and the Separation distorted the Sisters view in opposite ways, which reconnects perfectly with the events of the first Frozen.
The insteresting thing is the focus given by Anna and Elsa on the characters of the story:
Anna says "Who cares about danger, when there is love.", and focuses on making the Prince and the Princess kiss each other in an exxagerated way;
Tumblr media
Elsa instead says "They wake the Fairy Queen, who breaks the spell and saves everyone!", and her focus is on the good Fairy Queen defeating the evil Snow Goblin;
Tumblr media
Both narrations obviously work in their own regards, but also compliment each other: even if for Elsa "kissing won't save the Forest", this doesn't stop Anna from closing the story with an "And they all get married!", and having her older sister laughing without contradicting her. This is clearly a way to show the Sisters simpler and happier times, when fantasy and games were their only issue.
But what makes me more curious is how Frozen 2 than brings Anna and Elsa both to a very specific ending: Queen Anna is engaged to Kristoff, but their "big moment" still needs to happen, while Elsa has just begun as the Fifth Spirit, without facing an actual threat yet, just destroying Prince Hans ice-memory.
Both Sisters have found their own place in the world, but there are also sides of their story which relate to them, but it's NOT ONLY about them:
If Anna thinks about Hans as a Villain, she also views Elsa as a Hero, her hero, as she has always done since the first movie, when she had so much hope in her "Sure you can. I know you can.";
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If Elsa views Kristoff as Anna true Love Interest, it's because he proved time and time again that he's a true Prince for her amazing and brave little sister , who she always trusted to be Arendelle true leader in her place "Your life awaits. Go enjoy the Sun and open up the gates.";
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm sincerly convinced this new situation perfectly suits both Kristoff and Hans because we've seen Anna and Elsa already going through a lot of things about themselves.
I've always loved idea to see our Snow Sister being the one taking charge in relation and thinking about others issues, diving into Kristoff's childood, his original family and how he met Sven, and how the Trolls help him regarding his trauma, as well as finally getting a clearer idea of Hans , seeing a little more about him and Sitron, and seeing finally the Southern Isles, a kingdom we only know for having thirteen heirs to the throne:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If Anna was the one that gave great importance to both of them in Frozen, now, thanks to Elsa in Frozen 2, we have now the key to truely know the past:
Tumblr media
With the Sisters have both their lives consolidated, then I think it becomes quite clear they can't be the source of trouble to actually subvert the expectations of the story a third time, or, to be more specific: in order to involve Anna & Elsa directly and don't lose the focus on them, the issues must come from something that's fits their new status quo, but still has a deep and personal connection to them, both emotionally and narratively.

Elsa's Liberation from Society's Shackles
Her whole life, Elsa had been held captive by an overwhelming sense of confinement within the walls of Arendelle. As the queen, she had found herself perpetually vigilant, striving to remain in control of her formidable powers, lest she inadvertently transform an innocent into a frosty statue. She had to repeatedly offer reassurance to her subjects, assuring them that she posed no danger to them, which burdened her with an almost palpable sense of suffocation. In her heart of hearts, Elsa had pined for an escape, a sanctuary that would release her from the shackles of her responsibilities and permit her to cast aside all her cares and anxieties. An idyllic oasis where she could shed her guard and experience the exhilaration of freedom, revelling in her unique abilities and true essence.
And she had finally found it.
As Elsa walked through the Enchanted forest, a feeling of peace and tranquility washed over her like a gentle wave. The trees that towered above, seemed to exude a sense of ancient wisdom, their branches swaying gently in the wind as if in a dance with the forces of nature. The snow-covered ground crunched beneath her boots, each step punctuating the serenity of the surroundings. The air was crisp and refreshing, invigorating her senses with its purity.
In this moment, Elsa felt a weight lifted from her shoulders. For the first time in her life, she felt truly free, unburdened by the expectations and demands of others. She had always felt trapped, confined by the walls of society that had been built up around her, dictating what she could and could not do, say, or be. But here, in the heart of the forest, Elsa was able to let go of all of that. She was able to simply exist, to be present in the moment, without any external pressure or influence.
As she continued to walk, Elsa found herself breathing deeper, her lungs filling with the pure, clean air. Her mind quieted, the constant chatter of worries and anxieties fading away into the background. Instead, she focused on the beauty of her surroundings, the way the sunlight filtered through the trees, dappling the forest floor with soft, golden light.
In the Enchanted Forest, where the realm of magic thrived and the mystical creatures roamed free, Elsa found finally a haven where she was valued not for her abilities, but for the essence of her being. The spirits of the forest, who once regarded her with suspicion and fear, had finally recognised the true nature of her heart, and welcomed her with open arms.
It was a long and arduous journey for Elsa to find such acceptance, for she had always been burdened by the weight of her powers, which had caused destruction and chaos since she was a young girl of eight. Her magic was a part of her, an extension of her very soul, and she had always struggled to control it, despite best efforts, her fears and doubts had always crept in, and in her darkest moments, her powers had taken over.
For Elsa, it was a transformative experience. She learned to trust in herself and her abilities, to embrace her magic as a gift, not a curse. Learned to let go of her fears and doubts, and to see the world with a new perspective.
It was then, she realised that the Enchanted Forest was not just a place of magic and wonder, but a place of healing and growth.
In the end, Elsa found what she had been searching for all along: a place where she belonged, where she was loved for who she was. And she knew that she could never go back to the life she had left behind, for the Enchanted Forest had become her home, and its inhabitants her family.
For days, Elsa wandered through the forest, exploring every nook and cranny. She discovered hidden lakes, sparkling waterfalls, and secret glades where the sun filtered through the trees. She spent her days playing with the wind and snow, creating ice sculptures and snowmen, and revealing in the freedom she had never known before.
The Northuldra people, bestowed upon Elsa an invaluable gift - the knowledge and wisdom of their ways. Under their guidance, Elsa learned to attune herself to the rhythms and spirits of the land, honing her instincts to a fine edge.
Elsa came to understand that the forest was not simply a collection of trees, but a living entity, a vast and interconnected web of life. She learned to read the signs and signals of the forest, to listen to its whispers and echoes, and to sense the hidden threads that bound it together.
As she delved deeper into the mysteries of the forest, Elsa developed a profound connection to the Northuldra people. They shared a common language, a language of the heart, that transcended the barriers of culture and tradition. Elsa felt a kinship with them, a sense of belonging that she had never experienced before.
Elsa finally found that deeper sense of purpose and fulfilment, and her powers became an integral part of her identity, no longer something to be feared or hidden away.

Okay, just for fun, let me tell you all what Once Upon a Time is. I have never watched this show beyond very brief and scattered clips years ago, so this is mainly drawn from cultural osmosis and friend mentions. Let's see how badly I butcher this.
Snow White and Prince Charming get their wedding interrupted by an Evil Queen, and she's walking up the aisle with all the castle/church shutters slamming shut as she progresses, like Snape walking into class. And she's all, "Ha, I'm very evil, and you offended me somehow, and I'm going to steal your future daughter!" ...or maybe it's the daughter's christening, which would make the threat a lot more palpable. Or maybe it's not about the daughter. Maybe she's like, "Mwahaha, I am going to send you both to the REAL WORLD!"
One of the above.
Anyhow, their daughter is named Emma Swan, and she ends up living in Fort Langley - ahem, Storybrooke. (Sorry. At one point I lived not too far from where they film the real world scenes, and had friends who would sometimes spot the cast, though I never did.) Emma is cynical and jaded, and remembers nothing of her fairytale origins. But she has a son, Henry (adopted?) who is a cinnamon roll, and loves fairytales, and is a true believer and optimist.
I think the Evil Queen (Regina) raised Emma, and she's evil for a season or two or three but then gets a redemption arc, and we get motherhood stories both around Snow and Regina.
Meanwhile Snow and the Prince are questing for a way to find their daughter and defeat the evil queen, and eventually they get to Storybrooke, and possibly there's a memory wipe involved? At any rate, they obviously don't recognize the grown up Emma as their daughter at first, but they get to be close with her as a friend. Meanwhile, Henry is catching on to what's going on a lot faster than some.
Now there's also Belle, who is involved in a love/hate (but more so love) relationship with Rumpelstiltskin, who is a manipulative magic user in the fantasy world, but is also present in Storybrooke under the name of Mr. Gold, the pawnbroker/curiosity shop owner? Also still a manipulative magic user? This guy is constantly starting on/completing redemption arcs only to make evil choices again and it frustrates the fans because sometimes it seems like the writer's can't commit rather than they're pulling off a really complicated arc? But people enjoy him/find him fascinating.
Now there's a weird dynamic where more and more of the characters make their way into Storybrooke, but their stories are also featured in the fairytale world. This show is either super into flashbacks, or we're dealing with alternate timelines and time branches. Other people who get into Storybrooke? Red, who is Little Red Riding Hood in an incredible cloak that all the closplayers wanted at one point, and who now works as a waitress as a diner and has some encouraging words for Belle when she's having trouble with Rumple. BUT RED DIES TRAGICALLY! (Don't ask me how, or in which world.) There's also Captain Hook, who is all guyliner and longing looks and trying to be witty - but he also trades the Jolly Roger for Emma, and it's a huge sacrifice, and they have true, true love. He has the unlikely name of Killian in Storybrooke. (Come on - his name is James Hook!)
With the introduction of the Neverland Storyline (which is a cool storyline?) we move away from fairytales proper and just start including whatever Disney properties we want. Frozen gets shoehorned in there, as do Mulan and Brave. In Arendelle, Anna's preparing to marry Kristoff and tries on her mom's wedding gown which Elsa found, but then the trolls have some kind of bad news. Elsa gets sucked into a vase and transported to Storybrooke, where she accidentally freezes the town. Also Elsa's aunt Ingrid is there, secretly using her ice powers to run an ice cream parlour.
Meanwhile Anna's trying to get her back, and goes into the countryside where she meets Snow's Prince who now has long hair and is enslaved to Bo Peep and this is emphatically a different storyline than the other storyline(s) he's featured in? Maybe a curse made it this way? Anyway, Anna teaches. him to use a sword and stand up for himself. Then she and Kristoff go to the castle to research or something, and Elsa's there (maybe this is the backstory of how Elsa got to the real world?) and they find out about a spell that causes shattered sight (you only see the worst in other people, or maybe in the people you truly care about.) The spell is based on that mirror in The Snow Queen where a bit of flawed glass gets in your eye. Anna falls under the spell, gets resentful for the way Elsa treated her in childhood, and traps her in the vase (yes, this is definitely backstory!) Later Anna ends up in the water in a sea chest and somehow gets to Storybrooke?
Ingrid explains to Elsa that she wants a perfect family because her-non-magical family treated her like an outsider, and she wants Elsa to be part of her magical family. Elsa is appalled and resolves to fight her. Later, everyone in Storybrooke realizes the shattered sight spell is coming, and they all lock themselves in the jail or something so they don't tear each other apart. It doesn't affect Anna and Elsa though. But most notably Snow and her prince are fighting, and it's awful! They somehow got it all figured out in the end...
Many curses happen.
At some point Henry is the only believer. (In what? Magic? Love? their true fairytale identities? Who knows?)
There's an Author, and he's a scum, and maybe behind a lot of what's going on?
Merida shows up, and Emma goes through an arc where it looks like she might turn evil (the Black Swan? The Dark Swan?) and they go underground and stuff.
Eventually there's a musical episode, because Snow in the fairytale world wished for magic to help defeat the Evil Queen, and love expressed through song is super powerful. They sing a duet about how cool the singing is, and the fans are shocked that they're both great singers. Something evil happens, and they go in search of Hook, who's at a tavern and sings a big musical number about how he wants revenge on the crocodile for taking his hand, and he's backed by a wonderfully over the top chorus of pirates. (I have in fact seen this clip multiple times, because it's very fun.) Turns out the Crocodile he's talking about is the Dark One, who is Rumpelstiltskin, who is currently locked in Snow and the Prince's dungeon. Um... things sort out.
Eventually Emma and Killian have a wedding and it's a very climactic episode. There's a later season made, but we don't talk about it.
Best I got, folks.

The Snow Queen on the Isle of the Lost - Prologue
So, this is the beginning/premise of a much longer fic I have in the works (@dragoneyes618 and @chronically-unlucky it’s the one we spoke about yesterday), but it can work as a standalone so I thought it could be good enough to publish it.
Summary: What if Hans won? After all, two right steps in the right direction, a little more attention to details, a lie held in place a tad longer, a little more patience, even, it'd been so easy. It made Elsa spontaneously give up her throne and accept to go the Isle of the Lost, leaving him the only one in line for the throne... Hans won. But how? And with what consequences? Would that mean he truly won? And how Elsa would fare on the Isle, from its creation and during the 20 years of its existence?
Trigger warnings: character death, attemped murder and suicide mentions.
Hans played all his cards, and he did it well.
He waited until Anna exhaled her last breath to announce her death to the other nobles. How he kept her inside the room was not through force, but the power of words, with a quick tongue, laced in sweet poison.
"I'm sorry, I do love you. Maybe not even True Love's Kiss is powerful enough to challenge your sister's magic" he lied through his teeth.
Then Anna realized she didn't love him. She said they had it wrong, that maybe Elsa was right, that they barely knew each other and he listened her rambling about some ice harvester and her trip to the North Mountain and then to Trolls who were love experts or something.
He feigned hurt, enraged by the last joke pulled on him as it was clear Anna had fallen for the peasant boy, even if he didn't care about her, even if she was a means to an end, knowing even someone as naive and desperate as her could toss him aside so easily stung.
Only then he spoke the truth, only after Anna's hands had already turned into ice, her hair all white, even her irises had changed into icy blue embed with snowflakes.
It was too late for her to be saved, but enough for him to take the little revenge.
But he put back the façade once out the room and it was an act good enough he shed actual tears when the ice harvester came back for Anna - too late, too late - and even to say had he known he would have gladly let him save her if it had meant for her to be alive and happy.
After that, he had to make everything run smooth.
He played the heartbroken widowed prince, the just man who took the burden of the crown of a cursed kingdom, like his wife had begged him to when she died "with the wedding vows still on her lips".
He condamned the Queen to death, even if he had no actual right, because he managed to exploit the moment of pain and confusion and fear at its peak.
When he found the runaway Queen, he destroyed her will to fight with the news of her sister's death, her grief took the light out her eyes long before he swung his sword. But the iron broke in a thousand of frozen pieces. Elsa was grieving, knees on the ground in quiet tears, dead inside like the sudden stillness of the air around her, but her magic was still strong, her magic still protected her.
They took her back to the Ice Castle after the damage she made to the palace. The guards - her guards - treated her gently, despite the eternal winter was still ongoing, despite the princess' death, she was still their queen and they recognized she was genuinely heartbroken at the news of her sister's demise.
She never said a word, never looked at anyone, her eyes void of tears after she spilled them all.
When Hans sentenced her to go back to her Ice Palace, she didn't object, unlike the little living snowman.
«Olaf, it's alright» she said, quietly, then «Take care of my people, prince Hans»
Those were the last words Elsa would say for weeks, but for Hans it was the validation he desperately wanted his whole life long.
§
Two weeks later, the winter persisted yet and Elsa walked past the broken railing of her balcony.
Only the thick layer of soft snow stopped an otherwise deadly fall - why didn't she just die? stop ruining the kingdom he worked so hard to get! - and the news of the attempt were impossible to contain.
After that, the servants who were aware of her secret long before her coronation spilled the rest of the story to defend her, and the people of Arendelle listened to their compatriots. The foreign prince who was supposed to become their ruler wasn't lying, but he didn't understand that Queen Elsa didn't deserve death, only help.
Arendelle's councilmen, those who acted as regents between the death of King Agnarr and the time Elsa turned of age, were thorns in Hans' sides, preventing him from getting full power, refusing to acknowledge the legitimacy of his sentence of High Treason towards the Queen because, well, they could concede he was grieving for Anna when he said so, but he didn't have the right to do it, not even if they chose to believe he and Anna had recited wedding vows alone - which was a thing, given the extreme circumstances and Anna's nature, so they didn't oppose on that - Hans didn't have the power to overthrow the current ruler.
They went to visit their queen, braving the snowstorms and the perils of North Mountain, to speak with her.
When they came back, disappointed and worried - this much was clear - they said Elsa officially allowed for Hans to be regent.
She allowed! The joke was on him, Hans knew, and knew he'd stay so as long as Elsa lived.
Or as long as she finished mourning, which could happen. This was likely the hope of the councilmen and Arendellians alike, that she'd stop grieving and came back to be their queen, stop the curse on her own volition.
And Hans had to take steps to ensure his full rise into power before that could happen, that much was sure.
§
A month in his ruling and little changed, the killers who were sent up the North Mountain failed one by one, now new statues adorned the surroundings and the inside of the Ice Castle.
The same month, the older princes of the Southern Isles sent their condolences for the death of his wife - took them long enough to recognize where he was and what he was doing, but now they knew - and Hans was finally among the real powerful ones, acknowledged at last.
If only that stupid curse would end!
And if only Arendellians weren't so stubborn, to side with their Witch Queen instead of with their saviour!
Nothing to be done, there. He had to get their trust bit by bit, with example and care. There was nothing else to do, if Elsa refused to die.
§
Two months.
Arendelle was suffering from the lack of any harvest and the near-impossibility to enter the frozen fjord and Hans had been forced to ask for help to the neighbouring kingdoms - not his brothers, never to his brothers. He had to do it and do it well and do it alone -.
Enter the soon-to-be-crowned King Beast and his wonderful plan: create a union of kingdoms to go under the name of Auradon where only heroes could live, where people with magic were banned for life or had to relinquish their power, where all those who could do harm would be exiled where they'd amount to nothing.
Hans didn't want to give up his domain, but Arendelle was on the edge of ruin, so he traded a bit of his power for the health of the kingdom. He'd still be king - even people of Arendelle will have to call him that, because Queen Elsa will be gone at last and he's the only one next in line -, that was good enough, still higher than most his brothers.
He took time to consider it, but he already knew he couldn't be picky. It was either King Beast or his brothers.
He chose the Beast.
§
The Isle of the Lost was a good solution also to Hans' other main problem: the distrust of the people of Arendelle towards him. They still stubbornly loved Elsa and doubted such a kind child, who grew into a mild-mannered woman, could be the cruel monster who willingly killed her beloved sister and cursed the land.
"Why curse her own kingdom?" was the question.
"Because she was was discovered as a witch" was his reply, the official reply, a law in his own good.
But people didn't follow it.
"What killer cries for its victim?" they wondered, the sight of the weeping and devastated queen, down on her knees when she was told her sister was dead was sculpted in everyone's minds.
"Either she repented, or she knew it meant her own damnation"
No good. It didn't matter how perfect his explanations were, people still loved Elsa and opposed to the capital punishment, even if the kingdom was still frozen over, even if it could stay like this forever.
After all, they said, summer only lasted a month or so in the fjord, with autumn and spring two months each. They were used to winter, they said. A southern prince couldn't understand, they said.
So Hans, kind, handsome prince who turned their regent - not king, never king if Elsa stayed alive and in Arendelle - had to behave like a hero and pick the next best thing.
In this case, to accept the alliance with King Beast and to exile Elsa to the Isle of the Lost.
When they told her - he didn't show up alone in front of her, he never did after their last conversation, after he tried to cut her head off and failed - she barely replied.
Four months in her curse, she barely did anything at all: barely ate, barely slept, barely moved. The annoying talking snowman was by her side most the time, taking care of her with its stick-made arms and clumsy movements and neverending chatter, but she barely spoke to him too, or so his spies said.
She was a prisoner already, of herself more than of him, Hans knew it all too well. She was keeping all of them in her own prisony of snow and ice, she was the one who held them all captive with her grief.
A look in her sad eyes and he hated her even more, because even at her lowest, even completely defeated, even when she lost it all, she still had the whole land in her hands.
Hans knew she cared - or she convinced herself she did - about Arendelle, and he knew she couldn't be taken anywhere with force, no one was strong enough for her magic, but her heart was as fragile as a crystal and exploiting her deepest weakness was his primary weapon.
He talked about how the people were suffering, how hard an eternal winter was to go by, she didn't seem to listen to most of it, but then he spoke of Anna, how she loved summer and would have wanted the winter to end, how she wanted the best for the kingdom and laced his words with honey and sour spices mashed together for the good part of an hour before she dignified him with a reaction.
She turned to him, for the first time in months really looking at anything, and asked: «If I go, will Arendelle be safe from my curse?»
They hoped so, it was their best shot, he told her, truthful for once.
«Then so be it» she replied, signing her own sentence in cold voice and imperious tone, more severe towards herself than to anyone.
If only she knew, Hans thought viciously, how Anna's death could have been avoided, how much he enjoyed taking away the only hope his "wife" had to survive...
He didn't say a word. Didn't gloat, didn't react with anything but a kind, perfect smile of gratitude and understanding.
He was the hero, and heroes acted with benevolence.
§
Elsa descended from the North Mountain at the beginning of the fifth month, when Auradon was setting and the Isle was almost ready to receive its inhabitants.
A contingent of armed guards escorted her all the way down - not for his order, but because they all volunteered to -, on a sled that covered in gleaming frost the second she touched it, without chains binding her wrists and feet, and in her beautiful, glittering dress: not a prisoner, but still very much the queen she was born to be.
Hans hated her, more and more every passing day, but that day more than any other because she was all he strived to be and had to cheat and lie to resemble to, but wouldn't show it, not even in the last moments.
Her emotionless face could have been mistaken for a look of noble dignity, but Hans knew it was only apathy.
Her people saluted her like a hero, as if she was leaving on a mission to save them all, when she was only the monster that cursed them.
How couldn't they see it?
It didn't matter. Towards the Isle of the Lost she went, and there she was bound to stay for however long her life was going to be.
§
Seven months after the start of the wintery curse, the Isle of the Lost was finalized with an impenetrable magical barrier that neutralized the magic inside and would prevent any from going in, the prisoners were left there and the Isle was sealed for good.
Once spring came, at last, Arendelle thawed.
Hans could finally have his coronation, if he so wanted - and oh, how he wanted it! - and the people would have to let him do as he wanted, they had no other ruler, no one else in line for the throne.
But.
There were things they didn't know. That no one knew.
Before the crown was put on Hans' head, the earth shook, the winds blew, fires sprouted from every candle and torch and fireplace and turned blue and purple and snaked around.
Panic ensued, people called for a new curse, but there were no magic users left, were there?
The evacuation had to be quick, lives weren't lost, a bit of luck, the hopes to recover their land after the disaster were still up...
Until water came.
It was a flood unlike any other, as if the sudden earthquake and windstorms and fires had thawed the mountains around and all the melted snow covered Arendelle until there was no Arendelle any longer.
§
Truth was not known to mortals for a long time.
The Spirits had taken revenge. Arendelle had refused and secluded their gift, their magical child who they elected to become one of them had been sent away and rendered powerless and the Spirits didn't like their blessings to go lost.
But they weren't cruel either. No one died, although people lost their home, they kept their lives.
Moreover, they blessed a princess once more.
Not with magic, but with a new chance at life.
Amidst all chaos brought by the water Nokk, the Gale had taken the frozen statue that was Princess Anna from the castle and away, far up, and before the destruction of her kingdom it brought her to Earth's children, the Trolls, where Bruni thawed her, gently healing her frozen heart little by little.
And little by little she came back to life.
With no sister, or kingdom, or a husband that never was so to wait for her, but alive, in a new family of rock trolls and one ice harvester whose heart had been broken until then and was more than willing to devote his life to her, if she so wished, Anna lived on.
§
It took a full year for Anna to recover, a precious year in which she grieved and learned what happened to her sister and her people... and gave her the time to plan what to do next.
Hans - the traitor! - had tried to take over her home, he had forced her to stay in that room and no one knew that but Anna, but oh, she may not be princess of anything anymore, but she knew he deserved a good punch in his face, that much was sure.
That's what he got, when Anna stormed in the Southern Isles' palace, demanding to see him without revealing her identity until the very last moment and, well, it was fun because he almost managed to marry another princess and basically Anna crushed the wedding in the most dramatic fashion like in some stories she used to read when she was a kid!
Ahem.
But yeah, everybody thought she was only the dead wife coming back to life for her husband, until she revealed they never married and he left her to die when he could have helped and no, she didn't know how she came back to life from her sister's curse but she was there and demanded, if her sister had to be punished, that he was too because he had been way more villainous than Elsa in Anna's eyes.
Of course, Hans was shipped to the Isle of the Lost with the next barge.
Unfortunately, King Beast refused Anna's requests to allow Elsa back from the Isle of the Lost, they couldn't risk her to freeze Auradon over, you see? Moreover, it was Elsa who asked to be brought to the Isle, under the Barrier that kept her powers at bay, powers that hurt Anna, he dared to remind, and all things considered, everyone was better off without magic - without Elsa. It was only exile, after all.
Anna's princess title was worth next to nothing if she had no kingdom to rule and from which get political leverage, save from the Trolls' territory and whatever remained of the city in the fjord, any plea from her side fell on deaf ears.
Even so, once they found out their princess was alive, people of Arendelle started to come back, looking for her, hoping for her guidance, willing to rebuid what possible and be back as the united population they once were, not refugees in the Southern states of Auradon, but a community of their own once again.
It was going to take time, Anna knew, but she and Kristoff and their people would and could make Arendelle back the strong kingdom it once was and then she would find a way to save her sister from herself.
She promised.

It's been 10 years passed since Disney's Frozen came out on November-27-2013 and let me tell ya: that movie is frozen-tastic and one of my favorite Disney movies! Get it? Frozen-tastic? Oh, man. Anyways, it's the story about their kingdom called Arendelle becomes trapped in perpetual winter, fearless Princess Anna (Kristen Bell) joins forces with mountaineer and iceman Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and his reindeer sidekick named Sven to find Anna's sister, Snow Queen Elsa (Idina Menzel), and break her icy spell. Well, Queen Elsa does possess magical ice powers, so don't disrespect her, though. Although their epic journey leads them to encounters with mystical trolls, a comedic and optimistic snowman named Olaf (Josh Gad), harsh conditions and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff bravely push onward in a race to save their kingdom from winter's cold grip. You should know that Queen Elsa is NOT the main villain in the movie, Prince Hans from the Southern Isles (Santino Fontana) is the true villain in the movie and he's also the wolf in sheep's clothing, so my advice to Princess Anna: you have to be careful who you trust. I'm just saying. The song called "Let It Go" performed by Idina Menzel is truly AWESOME and one of my favorite songs of all time.

Anyway with the Rings of Power finale now behind us, I present my Tolkienfic
Miriel's Lament of Numenor (242 words, Rated T)
A lament for those lost beneath the waves
Until We Meet Again (2295 words, Rated T, Tar-Míriel/Original Female Character)
Eilianneth had known her Queen since they were maidens feeding each others’ lust for adventure and mischief. Now, at the end of days, she must bid farewell to her friend and lover.
Quenta Iantél - Tale of the Star's Fall (100520 words, Rated M, Korrasami and etc)
In the last days of the War of the Ring, Korra, a Ranger of the North, rode with the Grey Company against the forces of Mordor. After Sauron was defeated, she is tasked with a Quest to travel far to the East to establish diplomatic ties - and to search for Star-metal, a powerful material with unusual properties.
But she doesn't go alone. Galadriel sends along one of her maidens, an ancient Elf who refuses to wield a sword unless absolutely necessary, and whose eyes shine a shade of green she's only ever seen in a dream.
Quenta Helcariltári: Tale of the Sparkling Ice Queen (8698 words, Rated T, Elsa/Honeymaren)
Three hundred years after the sun first rose, and nearly seven thousand before the time of the Fellowship of the Ring, Honeymaren of the Haladin follows her people through darkness and terror to find a new home.
But a song calls to her, and separated from her people in the middle of a blizzard, she stumbles across a woman, a sparkling Queen of ice and snow. Not human nor one of the Elves, but something more.
Quenta Anarindil - Tale of the Sun Flower (3179 words, Rated T, Cassandra/Rapunzel)
Cassandra has been many things in her life. But after the War of the Ring, after the battles she's seen, she wanted something more.
She didn't expect that something to be found in the ruins of Ithilien beneath ancient trees, in a luminous being like the sun fallen to earth.
Keeping Faith (9538 words, Rated E, Galadriel/Tar-Miriel)
Long has Tar-Míriel worn a mask to hide her true allegiances, but the arrival of a Noldor in her court threatens to upend that balance. And yet, she cannot help herself.
A discussion of Shadows, a relieving of tension, and a keeping of the faith.

@vinterhjerte asked: “Stay here, I’ll be right back. I promise I will be back.”

"NO, ELSA!!!"
Anna's voice was stern and commanding, her fist clenching tightly as she held back her true rage. "You promised me we would do this together! And I'm tired of you breaking your promises! You want to go? Then we are going together. And I swear if you try and pull out another ice boat trick, I swear I'll...I'll...."
The Queen looked at her surroundings, attempting to find something to to unleash her anger upon. Sadly, all the young woman could do was kick the snow below her feet.
As her temper subsided, her breathing leveling out, Anna gradually began to feel like herself once more. She didn't like being angry, it was something that was a rare sight to see, but one could only bottle up their frustrations for so long and Elsa seemed to be rather good at loosening the lid.
"For once, please...please can you just trust me to help you?! Don't shut me out.....not again...."

Realms of Empowerment
In realms where courage sparks a blaze,
Real women, princesses, in bold arrays.
Cinderella, not defined by a slipper's fate,
But by breaking chains, refusing to abdicate.
Jasmine, not confined by palace decree,
A voice of dissent, fighting to be free.
Merida, an archer, arrows of defiance,
Against societal norms, a steadfast alliance.
Belle, not lost in tales confined,
A seeker of knowledge, a liberated mind.
Mulan, a warrior with a battle cry,
Breaking molds, challenging the sky.
Ariel, not tethered by the sea's embrace,
A dreamer who defies, finds her own space.
Tiana, not bound by a fairy-tale crown,
A queen in her own right, breaking barriers down.
Snow White, with a heart pure and brave,
Against the oppressor, her kindness engrave.
Rapunzel, not captive to towers tall,
She tears down walls, stands unoppressed and tall.
Elsa, not just the queen of ice and frost,
A trailblazer breaking barriers, no cost.
Anna, with love that melts oppressive cold,
A sisterhood's warmth, a power to behold.
Real women, these princesses, warriors true,
Fighting oppression, with courage they strew.
In their tales, a message we glean,
A force to be reckoned with, a powerful queen.

No 5 for helsa? 👀
Hey, Anon! Thank you for the prompt, and sorry that it took a while for me to post it because I've been busy with uni. I hope this one suits your liking. From this post: send me a pairing and a number and i’ll write you a drabble.
Elsa had been stealing glances at her fiance’s toned back once in a while. She knew she should just let the Admiral be, but for some reason, she couldn’t stay put. Not when she was aware of those Arendellian young women giggling and staring at her fiance a little too long.
“Enjoying the view, Elsa?” Anna asked, nudging her side, as they stood in the middle of the garden, amongst the pansies and the dahlias. “I know I am.”
The former queen cleared her throat, still not darting her gaze from the Admiral, who was sparring with the Prince Consort. The two men seemed to enjoy the competitive fencing, but that wasn’t the only thing that drew her attention. Earlier, she and Anna were doing some dress fitting for the wedding, and afterwards, they decided to hang around to spend some quality time together. It was a nice autumn day, and the sisters went for a stroll in the castle garden, that was until they heard the sound of metal clashing from the other side of the courtyard.
“Now you sound like those girls in the corner, Anna,” Elsa muttered, sounding rather pissed.
The young women huddling together were whispering things and exchanging glances with one another, and Elsa couldn’t help but think that they were saying things about Hans. Well, it was true that he had been popular among the ladies, but Elsa always shrugged it off. But lately, she had been filled with rather possessive thoughts involving her fiance, and she didn’t know why. Was that because she heard rumours about one of the staff being cheated on by their partner? Elsa knew it was silly and foolish of her to ever doubt Hans’ loyalty, especially when they were counting dates to their nuptials, and not to mention that this man was basically walking on thin ice and if he ever took the wrong step he would fall into the cold freezing water. Elsa was certain he knew better than that, but still, it didn’t completely spare her from the annoyance when she saw those young women throwing glances at her fiance.
Anna let out a chuckle. “For someone who has been ogling her groom’s sweaty form, you’re very observant, Sister.” The former queen shot her sister a look, before she scoffed. It didn’t take long for Anna to put two and two together. “Wait a minute. Are you jealous?”
Looking away to hide her blush, Elsa only shrugged. Was she jealous? Well, she knew she could be petty sometimes, but was she really?
“No!”
“Sounds more like a denial to me,” Anna grinned. “Just admit it, Elsa, or I’m telling Hans about your little jealousy.”
Elsa’s eyes widened. “Don’t you dare!”
“Try me.” Winking, the little sister grabbed the skirt of her gown and sprinted across the yard towards where the men were.
“Anna!” The blonde sister squealed, before going after her sister.
Raising her arms, Elsa threw some snowballs in her direction, grinning mischievously. They might be older now, but it didn’t stop them from letting themselves loose sometimes. By now, the two men had noticed the intruders. Seeing this as an opportunity, Elsa waved her hand to form a bigger snowball and threw it at Anna, who bumped to and tackled Kristoff to the ground. A pair of arms caught her waist as she was about to launch another attack, pulling her back.
“Woah, woah, easy there, Kaere, have you been day-drinking again?” Hans asked, rather concerned. “You’re flushing, are you alright?”
Anna was laughing, trying to brush away the snow from her dress, while Elsa was squirming in her fiance’s grip. She was about to respond, but her sister beat her to it.
“If you think that Elsa needs some liquor to be this feral, then you don’t know her,” Anna grinned, getting on her feet with the help from her husband. “Also, there’s more than one way to make one’s cheeks flush, am I right, Elsa?”
Elsa shot her sister a look, before turning to the Admiral. “Ignore her, she’s being goofy today.”
“And you’re being moody out of sudden, one may think you’re jea–”
Not letting her sister finish her sentence, Elsa threw another snowball at her face, silencing her. Nodding at her brother in law, who was trying to suppress his grin, Elsa then grabbed her fiance’s arm to lead him away.
“What was that about?” Hans raised an eyebrow, grabbing his discarded shirt from the ground. He didn’t put it on immediately, and from over his shoulder, Elsa caught those girls staring at the Admiral’s back again.
“Nothing,” she shrugged, before she stood on her tip-toes and wounded her arms around his neck. “I just don’t want her to interrupt when I do this.”
In a swift movement, the former queen pulled the Admiral into a kiss and spun them around slightly, letting everyone know that he was hers.
