I am rewatching the 1963 Cleopatra shortly after rewatching Hail, Caesar and I’m not sure whether this makes the experience worse or -- and this is the way I’m leaning -- better.

Anonymous: Don’t know if it’s my mommy issues talking but I would like some Mom!Jill valentine headcanons please 🙏 (love you bae 😘)
I’m glad you requested this, my friend! I just rewatched Death Island and my Jill simping has returned, stronger than ever (I don’t know how that’s even possible). Anyway, I decided to do baby Y/N and Jill because she would be so cute with a little one to take care of T^T Let’s get into it!
“Oh, shit. Shit, shit, shit, shit,” Jill murmured. In the dim glow of her bedroom, she sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the pregnancy test in her trembling hands. The positive result had just blinked on the small screen and stared back at her, unwavering. Her heart raced as a mix of surprise and excitement flooded her.
It was almost 3 AM and Jill had finally worked up the courage to take the test after buying it hours ago.
But… To be honest, she didn’t really need the test. She had already been pretty certain she was pregnant. The nausea, the missed periods, the headaches… She knew her body and something was happening to her. Something amazing.
She covered her mouth as tears streamed down her cheeks. She never thought she would be a mama for real. It was a secret fantasy of hers. She always imagined retiring from the B.S.A.A. and starting her own family.
From the very moment she found out about you, she loved you.
As the reality of impending motherhood sank in, Jill’s mind whirred with thoughts of the little life growing within her. She began to imagine tiny fingers and toes, the soft coos of a newborn. She was so ready to hold you.
Months passed, each one a step closer to the day when her world would change forever. Jill embraced the changes in her body, marveling at the miracle unfolding. She talked to you almost constantly. She couldn’t wait to meet you, but she also felt like she already knew you.
The nursery took shape with care, reflecting the anticipation of your arrival. Jill wanted everything to be perfect before you came home.
Eventually, after all her body had gone through, the moment finally arrived when labor pains gripped her. At long last, you entered the world.
Jill’s eyes glistened with tears as she cradled you in her arms for the first time, marveling at the tiny features that mirrored her own. She was a mama finally.
“Hi, Y/N,” She said quietly, smiling as your little hand gripped her finger. “Mama loves you so much, sweetheart,” She told you.
You looked up at her with wide eyes. You had absolutely no idea what she was saying, but you loved the sound of her voice.
Your confused expression made Jill giggle. She leaned in to nuzzle her nose against yours.
From that day forward, Jill’s life revolved around you. When she held you, she discovered a love deeper than she could have imagined. Her, now sleepless, nights were spent bouncing you in her arms and singing to you. While she had never been quite this tired before, she had also never been this happy.
If she’s having trouble getting you to stop crying, she makes up funny dances or songs and isn’t afraid to get goofy. You always end up laughing and Jill cracks up at your reaction (And her less-than-refined dance moves).
Jill’s absolute favorite thing to do is nurse you. The soft, snuffly sounds you make while you eat are so cute. She rocks you and tells you stories from her life as you suckle. Literally no one has better stories than her.
The bond between you two grows more with each feeding (If that’s even possible). She gently pats your back and encourages you to eat. Even when you’re fussy, Jill is able to coax you to latch on. “Eat for mama, baby,” She’ll say. Her gentle voice and smile immediately put you at ease. She’s a natural.
In these tender moments, as she watches you contentedly eating, Jill marvels at the beauty of motherhood. The uncertainty of her parenting abilities has transformed into confidence. She embraced the challenges, finding strength in the love she felt for you.
She was always meant to be your mama and you make her a better person.

I have an exam and a presentation today and another presentation tomorrow. I'm losing my mind right now. Please, wish me luck. 😭
I will try to do you one better
Tumblr media
Whoever decided that all classes in college should make everything due at exactly the same time was a horrible, terrible person and you hoped they would spend the rest of eternity paying for it. This feeling also wasn't helped by the fact that you felt like the only one of your friends actually struggling.
(That wasn’t necessarily true, you knew that everyone was having a hard time with finals week. But you hadn’t really seen any of your friends since break and the texts you shared with Jake only proved how little he had to study to pass everything.)
It had all gotten to the point that, most nights, you were openly sobbing in your dorm’s communal bathroom — that had been an awkward check in with your RA — and finally Natasha forced you out of your dorm with a packed drawstring and a stern look.
“You need to relax,” she handed you your phone. “Go to Jake's— And no studying.”
Then the door of your dorm was shut in your face and you knew your best friend well enough to know that she had no intention of opening it again. You sighed.
Tumblr media
Shifting your bag to your other hand, you knocked loudly, moving from foot to foot in impatience. You could hear steps moving closer to the door — though even then it was taking too long. The doorknob finally twisted and you didn’t even let him open it fully before you had your arms wrapped around him.
“Hi,” you whispered from where you were buried in the crook of his neck.
You felt his body relax and soon his arms were tight around your waist. You stayed wrapped up in his doorway for a moment, not able to hold back your smile as he slowly rocked you side to side. Much to your dismay, he pulled away much too quickly, scooping up your bag with ease and ushering you inside.
“How was break?”
“Good, I definitely should have studied more though, but everything just crept up so fast. I—” You stopped yourself when you took in his appearance, damp hair and that certain gleam in his eyes. “Wait, wasn’t your last final today? Do you think you passed?”
He merely shrugged, a sheepish look on his face as you jumped up and down excitedly.
“Oh my god, you totally did! We need to celebrate!” You moved to put your shoes back on from where you’d kicked them off by his door.
“Hey, hey, hey,” he stopped you from moving any farther, wrapping his arms around you again and physically holding you to him. “We're already celebrating, this is how I wanted to celebrate. Besides you texted me yesterday that you haven’t had more than, like, 12 hours of sleep in the past four days, how are you not exhausted?”
It was then that you took in his dorm. His coffee table was littered with snacks and the bed was piled with blankets and other pillows. And it was empty. You turned back to Jake, who was already trying to move you both from the doorway.
“So Bradley—”
“I kicked him out, yeah.” He smiled, leading you closer to the movie night he set up. “It’s just us.”
“And you’re sure you don’t want to go out and celebrate?” You looked at him skeptically.
“I told you, I am celebrating. Now, will you stop arguing, peach? I told you I’d wait for you to rewatch Mighty Ducks together and I think I’ve waited long enough.” He tugged your hand lightly to get you to sit on the bed with him.
You rolled your eyes playfully, stretching out next to him as he started the first movie. You both watched the small television quietly, his hand rubbing soft patterns from where it was draped over your side, a feeling that was almost foreign because of how long it had been since you’d been in each other’s company. Jake was right about your abysmal sleep schedule catching up to you, your eyelids growing heavy before the first act was even over and you didn’t have the energy to fight them. Turning to curl into Jake’s chest so the lights of the television wouldn’t bother you, you let out a soft hum. You were vaguely aware of the feeling of his lips on your forehead.
Tumblr media
“Dude, what part ‘don’t come back tonight’ did you not get?”
Jake’s voice pulled you from your dream. You were still a little groggy, opting to keep your eyes closed as you tried to piece together your surroundings.
“The part where you expected me to stay out all night,” a voice, Bradley maybe, spoke significantly louder than Jake had.
“She’s sleeping,” Jake hissed and you tried to suppress a smile. “Why didn’t you just stay with Mickey?”
You heard a scoff, it was definitely Bradley. “Where do you think I would sleep? The floor?”
Clearly, you were not as stealthy as you thought you were as it took a second for Jake to reply.
“Great, look what you did.”
“What did I—”
You felt Jake reach for a pillow and peaked one of your eyes open to watch him chuck it at his friend.
“There. Now go to Mickey’s.”
Quickly you shut your eyes again before Jake could turn back and heard the sound of a door shutting — though you noted it was quieter than Bradley had been when he first entered.
“I know you’re awake, peach.”
Jake’s words had you fluttering your eyes open.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” you pressed a soft kiss to his lips.
“I’m sorry about him,” Jake ignored your teasing words with a guilty expression. “I seriously didn’t think he was gonna come.”
“It’s okay,” you assured him, running a hand through his hair. “I’d rather be awake with you anyway.
“Still…” He trailed off.
“Hey, who’s arguing with who now?”
Your words brought a small smile to his face and he moved up one of his hands to cup your cheek, stroking the skin with his thumb.
“I’m really glad you’re here,” he whispered.
You broke out into a grin, his words lifting a large weight off your shoulders. Though you knew that Jake would never fault you for it, finals had made you feel so behind in all aspects of your life. It felt like you hardly had time for one of your classes, let alone all of them, and the feeling was only drenched in guilt when that meant you also didn’t really have time for your boyfriend anymore either.
“I’m really happy you said that.”
His face crinkled in confusion. “Why would I not say that?”
“I don’t know, I guess I thought that maybe things would be off with us,” you shrugged timidly. “Like, because we haven’t spent a whole lot of time together lately.”
He studied your words thoughtfully, looking up at his ceiling briefly before looking back at you. “Well you know what they say, absence makes that heart grow fonder.”
He said the phrase in such an odd way that you couldn’t help but giggle.
“Do you even know what that means?” You teased him.
“Not really,” he admitted. “But I do know that being with you after not being with you for so long makes me love it even more.”
And you concluded he knew exactly what it meant. Placing one last lingering kiss on his lips, you flipped around in his hold and reached for a Starburst.
“Are you ready to start the next movie? I promise I’ll stay awake this time.”
There was an unusual silence behind you.
“You watched all three of them without me,” you stated, knowing to not even bother forming your words into a question.
Jake pressed a kiss to your pulse point. “I plead the 5th.”

good luck with finals, bb!! I'm wishing you the best of luck <3

week IV
indestructibility is a concept i brought up in a conversation the other night and it's something i've only thought to myself but never put into writing. i'm writing about it now to figure out what it actually is, beyond just a word. this is very tangential and veers to and from the point.
my first way of verbalizing indestructibility was to call it "emotional indestructibility" because i knew it had to do with the way i react to things that emotionally affect me. just on the words alone, i think emotional indestructibility sounds like a really bad thing. the words make it sound like its about cutting yourself off from the emotions you have, and that, if indestructibility is your goal, being impervious and stoic to everything around you is a good thing. i think stoicism is definitely a viable way to move through life, but given the love i have for my material being and the emotions and sensations its able to experience, i really don't like the idea of not reacting to things.
months ago i said to myself that, upon moving to the city, i would need to be indestructible in order to [[someone across the street from me is watching the first transformers movie, now i really want to rewatch that]] stay sane after a summer and spring of committed emotional vulnerability and a general philosophy of allowing anything into my mind and running with it. the city presents so much more opportunity for thought and so many things and people are apart of your attention all of time, therefore if i were to be as emotionally/mentally vulnerable all the time, all of the urban stimuli might overwhelm/excite me way too much. so i wanted to be 'indestructible' in order to stop bullshit from affecting me. but by looking back on the last few months, it's clear that the way i pursued indestructibility was just by tuning out the reality around me by blasting music through my headphones or passing the hours by watching bullshit youtube videos––things i rarely felt compelled to do before i moved back to the city. repeatedly tuning out has kind of disconnected me with what's materially happening around me, and i think it's personally a bad method of indestructibility––and a somewhat wasteful method of living in general.
{tangent on tuning out:
it should be said, though, that tuning out can be really great, and necessary in the city. how could anyone be expected to be subjected to a 30 minute train ride with no headphones? it can be an opportunity to explore music, to learn more about your craft, maybe to interact with people online in some way. listening to music, learning, and interacting with people are all incredibly positive things that we should be trying to do. they make us feel fulfilled. but like anything that releases feel-good chemicals into our bodies, these activities can be over-done.
it's in the moments when city life forces me to tune out that i learn a lot about an artist or listen to an album. but then after i get off the train, and into my room, and at my desk. and on my computer, i can basically do it for as long as i want. by constantly giving myself rewards like another episode of King of the Hill or another Broey Deschanel video essay or some time scrolling through Instagram, i feel like i'm reducing the act of being entertained, learning, or socializing to something that can be done with just my fingers on a keyboard and my eyes on a screen. it's far more effective to be engaging with those things through material experience.
this reduction makes me far too used to these concepts and reward systems. therefore, in real life, i am starting to feel numb to a lot of experiences. or, conversely, i can feel easily overwhelmed and lost in certain mundane circumstances. my emotional vulnerability has felt so low over the past few months. its declining presence tracks with my general disposition, i think. i do not want to be this kind of indestructible.}
the kind of indestructibility i had in mind when conceiving of it for myself was not one of emotional detachment or numbness. it was one that allowed me to be vulnerable to everything that threw itself my way. i had to receive every thing as intensely as possible in order to see the truth of it. by being able to see more in every thing i could have a better understanding of the distinction between some thing that should actually emotionally affect (from extremely negatively to extremely positively) me and some thing that is out of my control and thus not worth investing energy into.
for example: projection. everyone talks about projection nowadays and for good reason. i do believe that everything we do and the way we perceive what's around us is always extension of ourselves, for better or for worse. part of what i saw as indestructibility upon moving to the city was making sure that i kept my mind clever/secure enough to be able to distinguish between things people project onto me versus things that should actually be important to my thinking process and incorporated into the ongoing and never-ending development of my sense of self.
when someone projects something onto me*, they are an exterior force that is completely out of my control making a judgement on my character. therefore, what they say to me should not be allowed to influence my own perception of my character. but what i've realized is that it's really fuckin hard to find where the line between projection and accurate identification is.
plus, such a massive part of coming to an understanding of my sense of self over the last year and half has been accepting that other people play a huge role in who i am. we are all collages of those who raise us, those who befriend us, those who betray us, and even the people passing through. so when a judgement or identification (negative or positive) is made on who i am by another person––especially one i care about––i immediately believe it and accept it as a part of myself.
projection is just one example of being affected by something exterior.
i know that i play the main role in understanding and expressing my sense of self. but regardless of that, i am a product of what existence has impressed upon me for the many days i've been in it. when i wanted to be indestructible at the start of my time here, i didn't want to put up walls and not experience anything. i think i just wanted a better filter for what should be allowed to play a part in who i am. filtration is maybe a better concept than indestructibility. yeah.
is filtering also bad? is my automatic acceptance of everything around me as a part of myself problematic to my sense of self? should i really rewatch the transformers movie? these are all questions left to answer, but at least i've worked through a word and can move forward.
*i hope i'm not making it sound like a bunch of people are judging me to my face all the time. the people around me really are generally awesome.

Hiiiii
[im the same person who recuested the coyote fic and i thought about another scenario]
One day it was really cold outside and neither of you had to go to the base that day so both of you decided as the mega Starwars nerds you were, that you were gonna rewatch the entire saga, you started like at 10am and end at like 8pm, soo you two decided to start listening to the entire hamilton musical and LITERALLY scream the lyrics, you had beer on your fridge so you started drinking. After like 5 hours you were on the couch, javy on one side and you in the other side with your legs intertwined, you had your eyes closed but you opened them and saw that javy was staring at you (keep in mind that he was REALLY drunk, you werent drunk because you arent really a drinker) when you saw that he was staring, you didnt say anything, you just stared back at him and after a moment he sayd “God, i cant belive how lucky i am to be have a woman like you in my life. Youre just so confident and strong, and you dont take anybodys bullshit. And its so incredible how much shit happend to you and you still were positive about it and kept a smile.” You just smiled and let him keep going “And dont even get me started on your personality. I love your sarcasm and how you are always right, i love that freaking death stare even tho you look like you are gonna murder somebody, i love your paintings, your sculptures, your crafts and genuenly ANYTHINH YOU DO” he sit up on the couch and stared at you for a bit “i love you.” After this he got up to the bathroom. You didnt say anything and decided to wait till the morning to see if he sayd aomething about it because afterall, hes drunk and he might not be saying stuff he means, so you didnt get your hopes up. You prepared your couch so javy could sleep (too drunk to drive) when he came out you told him to sleep in the couch blah blah blah, next day he didnt say anything abt last night so you thought that those were just drunk words and thats all. Few days pass and im out of creativity :)
THANK YOUUUU
hey! i'm not really into star wars or hamilton so i wont be going into detail about those things, but i'll do my best to follow your request as close as i can :)
it was finally a day you and javy had off together, so you two decided to hang out with each other-
since you both were early risers (a habit formed from work), coyote found himself at your place promptly at 9am so you two could make breakfast together
by the time you two finished cooking it was nearing 10, giving you both enough time to binge watch your favorite movies, which you did until about 8pm
by this time, you both finally noticed that the sun was setting and that you both were starving
and so you both decided to order some pizza
once the pizza arrived, you set it on the coffee table in your living room while javy raided your fridge for alcohol (little did he know that you only had those drinks in your fridge because you knew he liked them)
in his own words "pizza and alcohol are like a match made in heaven-"
and so you just shook your head while he joined you on the couch and you both ate while watching a couple more movies
after dinner, javy smashed through 4 beers, and was already starting to feel a buzz, meanwhile you were only fully through one
switching gears, you both decided to have a karaoke night, either playing songs from your collaborative playlist with javy or simply playing a musical and singing along to all the songs from there
honestly it's kinda surprising the neighbors didn't call the police on you both for singing so loud-
by the time you guys ended your karaoke session, javy had finished 6 beers total and even took a shot or two of the tequila you had at the top of your fridge so to say he was drunk out his mind was an understatment
meanwhile you were stone cold sober since the beer left your system about an hour or two ago
now accompanied by the background noise and glow of the tv from of whatever show/movie you put on, you two settled in on the opposite sides of your couch
a few moments of peaceful silence followed, until javy sat up and you glanced over to see him looking at you
before you even got a word out of your mouth though he started rambling
"you know what i love about you? how you continue to be so strong and confident despite all the hardships you've faced, how you don't take bullshit from anyone, how your smile can brighten my whole fucking day, and how determined you are to prove yourself. i love that stupid death glare you send me or anyone else when they're being stupid, your sarcastic remarks, and your passion for your hobbies and how you throw everything you have into the things you love. honestly, i'm just utterly in love with you, y/n"
before you even have the chance to process and respond to all of that he just gets up and stumbles walks over to the bathroom
and you just take a minute rethinking everything he said-
"he said he loves me.."
but you just shake off the thought and get up to arrange the sleeper couch since you refuse to let him drive home as fucked up as he is-
surely all the things he said couldn't be true right?
but then again, a drunk man's words is a sober man's thoughts so,,,
when he returns you let him know you've set up the couch for him to sleep on and you retreat back to your bedroom after a shower
staring up at the ceiling you just let out a sigh and decide to worry about everything he said tomorrow
and tomorrow came, you both woke up a bit later than usual (i mean he had a hangover and you didnt sleep the best after that confession) and you left your room fully dressed and started to make breakfast
coyote changed into some clothes he had left the last time he slept over at your place and joined you in the kitchen
he didn't say anything so you simply assumed he forgot about what he said last night
you didnt blame him considering he was completely hammered
speaking of which you poured him some water and slid the tylenol over to him
to which he muttered a thank you and took a couple pills
when you finished cooking, you served him his food at the table and began eating quietly
and he just smiles a lil and chuckles
"you know, what i also love about you, the fact that you'll still take me into consideration even when i probably ruined our friendship with what i said last night-"
and you just pause for a beat and put your fork down
"what did you say-"
"you know, that whole ramble about everything i love about you and how i'm head over heels for you-"
you just lean back a bit and shake your head
"wait- so you remember everything from last night?"
"well yeah, y/n, you know what they say, 'a drunk man's words is a sober man's thoughts-' and i guess just being drunk gave me that push to confess how i really feel about you- i gotta be honest though, i was kinda hoping you'd say something this morning about it-"
and you just scoff
"god, javy, i thought you were just- well,,"
at this point coyote is trying to hold in a laugh because you're just too cute being all caught off guard like this
"hey don't laugh at me! how was i supposed to know you'd actually remember,, and actually meant what you said,,,"
"well,, i've only got eyes for you babe, at this point i thought it was a bit obvious-"
"shut up- the point is, i love you too you dummy,, even when you can't hold your liquor and even when you're all hungover like this,, i can't believe it took us this long to say something-"
"i guess you could say alcohol does wonders~"
you just roll your eyes and stand to go wash your plate, giving javy a kiss on the forehead as you walk by
"shut up and finish your breakfast, machado-"

Do you want the last dream you had to come true?  No. It was a nice dream, but I'd rather it stay a dream.
When did you last talk to the person you'd most wanna talk to right now?  It's 3 AM on a Saturday which means there is absolutely no one I'd want to be talking to.
What kind of pill did you last take?  Paracetamol for what was probably the worst migraine I've ever had in my entire existence, a week ago. I had never had a harder time driving – in fact I pulled over as soon as I reached the village gate because I really needed to collect myself – my entire body felt like it was heating up and I was really worried that I would pass out any moment. I felt so relieved when the pill started to take effect and when I started to feel my mind and my body coming back.
Do you like wearing glasses?  Can't say I particularly enjoy having them on but I just...kind of need them to survive, lol. There's no other way to put it other than sheer necessity.
Does your mom know the last person you hung out with?  Lui, Laurice, and Jum? Probably not. She knows I have a college friend group, but she wasn't as attentive towards them anymore as she has always been with my high school friends. Like she'd recognize Angela and Sofie in a heartbeat, but if I mentioned those ^ names to her, 100% she'd ask where are they from hahaha.
What were you doing 4 hours ago?  I was wrapping up the evening with Laurice and Jum.
What would you most like to eat right now?  I just ordered KFC for delivery and it's on its way here so I'm pretty stoked for that.
How long were you last in the car for?  It was around two hours, miserably so. I took both Jum and Laurice home even though their places were wildly out of the way; it had been approaching midnight and I just wanted to be sure, with my own eyes, they got home safe.
But then on my actual route back to my house I took a wrong exit and ended up on the highway with all the motherfucking goddamn PAIN IN MY ASS 10-, 12-, 200-wheeler trucks, so that added an additional half hour or so to my ETA.
What is something good that happened last weekend?  I spent the ENTIRE Saturday rewatching all the Twilight movies. Started 11 AM, ended exactly at midnight. I still feel giddy thinking about it lmao, I love that stupid franchise so much.
Do you like holding hands or do you think it's stupid?  It's cute but I would only do it with a partner. I feel awkward doing it with a friend for too long.
The last song you heard, what does it make you think of?  Namjoon, because it was a Namjoon song.
How'd you get your last injury?  Don't really know if it counts as one because fortunately it didn't end up leaving a mark, but a couple of days ago I held a mozzarella stick that was way too hot to be touched at that moment and I wasn't able to immediately drop it, so my index finger was very very tingly and in pain for a while after that.
What do you like about your birthday?  I really enjoy celebrating my birthday and look forward to it every time, and it's honestly for the sole purpose of getting to say that I made it through the past year.
Do you like being home alone at night?  I loooooove the feeling.
What first comes to mind when thinking of 10th grade?  What is '10th grade' even equivalent to? Would that be sophomore year? Anyway, I guess I remember being stung by a jellyfish during a school trip but apart from that I've done quite the job of forgetting most things from high school.
What's the scariest thing that's happened to you?  Being terrorized by men.
Has an ambulance ever come to your house?  No.
The person you're thinking about - what are you thinking about them?  Not thinking of anyone.
When did you last skip class?  Idk, probably in 2020. I'm sure I was able to cut a few classes before the world went to shit.
Do you like the shape of your fingernails?  Yes, I love everything about my fingers haha. Idk I like that they're long and slender and that my nailbeds(?) are an okay size. I'll get complimented on them every now and then too.
Did you look at your fingernails for the question above?  Yeah for a little bit.
Whose pool did you last swim in?  The resort that I went to in late 2021, with my old work team. I don't like pools much.
What's something you like about your 3rd hour?  My...what?
Is formspring a good idea? It depends. If you're the kind of person that drama tends to follow, probably not as it's just an invitation to get harassed/bullied.
What's your biggest problem at the moment?  Angela is possibly bailing on me for Kaye's birthday tomorrow – a party where Angela would be the only person I'd know because everyone else is from Kaye's college years (and we went to different schools LOL so who in the fuck–)
It's been a bit of a bother but I'm also like...whatever about it? in a way that whether she's joining me or not, I'm attending regardless. I don't like it when people flake on stuff I've planned so I'm not doing the same for Kaye who's probably super excited for tomorrow.
What's the cutest thing someone's ever done for you?  Get me flowers? Idk I'm pretty easy to please hahaha. Angela and Hans surprised me with a bouquet for my birthday last year and that sent me melting.
When did you last see a police car?  Not sure but it must have been just within the last month or so.
Why aren't you doing something more productive than this? This is the most productive I could be at 3:41 in the morning, tbh.
How many people know about the last person you kissed?  Everyone. I pathetically didn't shut up about her the entire time we were together.
How many different cars have you driven?  3. My car, our old Vitara, and I've also had to drive Bea's car twice when we went on out-of-town trips.
What did you do on Thursday?  The most notable thing would be that I went all the way to Manila to be support manpower for a work event. Manila is still gross as all hell.
What color was the last thing you drank?  Brown.
What do you do on Fridays?  Exponentially not give a shit about work as the day goes by.
Have you ever had to take desperate measures in a desperate situation?  Yes.
What door did you last open besides any on your house or car?  The door to a restroom stall.
What is the meaning of life?  Contentment.

for you and i
Tumblr media
Pairings: Spencer Reid x fem!Reader Warnings: honestly just pure fluff, mild swearing, mentions of alcohol consumption, implied smut (nothing graphic) Word Count: 2.2k Summary: A small collection of moments throughout reader’s and Spencer’s evolving relationship that features their song. A/N: this symbol ~~ signifies a time jump.
A/N: i finished my rewatch of bones last night (im hella emotional), and one of my favourite “running gags” from the show is hot blooded being booths and brennans song, and how the writers reminded us of that from season to season. it definitely definitely inspired me to write this. also i did this instead of working on my assignment as a birthday gift from me to me lmao ENJOY
-
The plane trip back home was completely silent.
Morgan and JJ were catching up on much needed sleep. Emily, lost in thought, observed the night sky through the small window. Rossi was reading, as Hotch worked his way through some case files.
Spencer sat next to you at the far end of the jet. You were listening to music while his nose was buried in a book. Although you could tell he couldn't really concentrate on the words as the page remained unturned for the last fifteen minutes.
“Why don’t you let your eyes rest for a minute?” You suggested, carefully taking out one earphone. “A short nap could be good for you. It doesn’t look like you’re retaining any information anyway.”
Spencer nodded slowly, agreeing with you. He shut the novel in his lap and tilted his head to look at you, his lips pursed into a thin shy smile. “You should get some sleep too Y/N.”
“I’m okay.” You replied. “Plus someone has to keep watch in case the jet gets abducted by aliens or something.” A sly grin appeared on your face as Spencer chuckled softly. He rested his head against the chair and gradually closed his eyes.
You watched him for a moment. Examining his perfect features. Your innocent crush growing by the second - something you would never admit out loud in fear it would ruin your friendship.
When you were about to place the earpiece back in your ear, his eyes shot back open. He sighed heavily.
"I actually don’t think I can.” Spencer said quietly and once again turned his attention to you. His gaze briefly landed on the phone in your hands before travelling up to your face. “Did you know that in addition to aiding relaxation and helping with falling asleep quicker as well as improving sleep quality, playing music before bed can improve sleep efficiency? Which means more time you are in bed is actually spent sleeping.” You raised a curious brow waiting for him to continue, but he just asked: “Can I ask what you are listening to?”.
Instead of answering his question, you wiped the dangling earphone against your blouse and handed it to him. He took it, a little hesitantly, and placed it in his ear - the two of you unconsciously shifting closer to one another.
You could tell by the expression on his face that he didn't know the song currently playing, nor did he particularly like it, but he didn't protest or ask you to skip it. In his eyes, you were kind enough to share your source of entertainment therefore he would never push to change what you were clearly enjoying.
The song ended, another began, and another, and another. Eventually Spencer closed his eyes again. The two of you continued to silently listen to the various songs on your playlist - a wild mix of different artists and genres, definitely showcasing your weird music taste.
Touch Me by The Doors began to play.
“I like this one.” Spencer muttered, eyes still closed. “I didn't peg you to be a rock fan.” You stated curiously. Spencer chuckled softly. “I wouldn't call myself a fan per se, this is just a very good song.” “This is actually my favourite song of theirs.” You proclaimed.
Sinking deeper in your seat, you quietly sang along. “What was that promise that you made?” To your pleasant surprise, the young doctor joined in. “Why won't you tell me what she said? What was that promise that you made?”
Lost in the pure bliss of the moment, you gently rested your head against Spencer’s shoulder. His eyes fluttered open. He glanced down at you and smiled to himself. Yes. Yes, he could definitely get used to this.
~~
“Watch it!!!” You shouted and rudely gestured after the vehicle that overtook you out of nowhere, almost sliding right into your car. Frustrated, you ran your hands through your hair before placing them on the wheel again. A deep sigh escaping your lips in the process.
Spencer chuckled next to you. “Maybe next time I’ll drive.”
“Sorry.” You muttered, tone of your voice changing completely for a moment. “People are just so fucking stupid.” The groan was full of annoyance, and it only made the young doctor snicker louder.
“How about we turn on the radio?” Spencer suggested. “Cool you down a little since we have another hour drive ahead of us, and I would preferably like to get there in one piece.” He teased. You rolled your eyes at his comment, but didn’t protest.
Taking your silence as a yes, Spencer fumbled with the car radio.
‘Come on, come on, come on, come on Now touch me, babe’
Voice of Jim Morrison blared through the speakers. Instantly, your whole body loosened up. No longer feeling annoyed or angry. Driver’s rage dissipated. The frown circling your features was replaced by a happy smile.
‘Can't you see that I am not afraid?’
Stopping at a red light, you looked at Spencer who was lightly bopping his head to the beat of the music. His gentle curls bouncing with his every move.
“You know, the universe is telling us that this is our song now.” You noted. The young doctor met your gaze, and the grin present on his face made your heart skip a beat. A faint hit of nerves cascaded through your body as you anxiously waited for his response.
Spencer shrugged his shoulders slightly. “It’s a good song. The universe could have wished us a lot worse.”
As the light ahead turned green, and you were driving once again, the two of you burst into the chorus as loud as you possibly could: “Now, I'm going to love you! Till the heavens stop the rain!”.
~~
The bar was filled to the brim with people wanting to unwind after a long week of work. That included the BAU team.
“One more for the road!” Morgan exclaimed, jumping out of his seat. He motioned to Hotch for assistance and the two of them briskly walked off in the direction of the bar. “While they’re gone, I’m gonna hop to the loo.” Penelope chimed. “I’ll join you.” JJ spoke up and they hurried off.
Spencer sat beside you, shoulder pressed lightly to yours. He was sipping on the remainder of his drink and you were about to open your mouth to say something, engage him in conversation, when you heard it. The song. Your song.
Your head instantly snapped up at him and a mischievous grin spread on your face. By the time Spencer realised what was going on, you were up on your feet grabbing him by the arm, and pulling him onto the self-made dance floor.
You began to sway along to the music. The alcohol currently flowing through your veins definitely made you that much braver. It also gave Spencer the confidence boost he needed to join you with no objections.
Despite the questionable looks you were undoubtedly receiving, the two of you jumped around like kids. Singing the song out loud to one another. It was as if the world around you disappeared. Like you and Spencer were the only people left in the bar.
‘Till the stars fall from the sky’
And when the night concluded, when everyone said their goodbyes, Spencer continued to hum the melody of your song as he waited with you for the taxi. It was then you chose to make the first move - colliding your lips with his in a carefree kiss.
They were softer than you ever imagined.
All at once, the attraction between you two and the tension that built up over the years burst. You grabbed onto his jacket pulling him even closer. Suddenly, the cold night air didn’t feel so cold anymore. It was hot, burning like a flame. Your body was on fire and so was his.
Spencer’s long arms wrapped around you, trapping you in the fire. One of his hands moved lower down your back, while the other tightly gripped your hair. The sensation that he felt was unimaginable. He always imagined what you would taste like, although he never expected anything would happen. He imagined how your body would feel against his. How your lips taste. But this, this exceeded all expectations.
“You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do this.” He said in a smoky voice after pulling away, his hands now holding your face. “That’s what I was going to say.” You managed to whisper before his lips landed on yours again. Your heart pounding hard inside your chest, it felt as if it was about to explode.
~~
Spencer huffed as he placed a heavy cardboard box down on the ground. He straightened himself, flattened down his crinkly t-shirt, and turned to you with a smile. “That’s the last of it.” He stated proudly, placing his hands on his hips.
“My hero.” You ambled towards him and pecked his lips. “Thank you.” His arms made their way around your waist, pulling you in close. He placed a tender kiss on your forehead before glancing around the room.
“I can’t believe we’re officially moved in together.”
“It’s been a longtime coming.”
“That it definitely has.” Spencer smiled kissing you. He let his arms fall and shuffled around to start unpacking.
Having planned ahead, you removed a speaker from your handbag. You quickly set it up, connecting it to your phone, and pressed play to ease the process that would carry on into the night.
Starting with the kitchen, and the more fragile items, the two of you made your way through the new apartment.
Hours passed. It was getting quite late as tiny yawns continuously escaped your lips. However, the hard work was paying off because space started to feel more and more like home.
You decided to finish up for the night - tomorrow was another day. Yawning, you leaned into the arms of your boyfriend. Spencer kissed the top of your head and began to sway you slowly from side to side.
Right on queue, the guitar intro you both recognised well began to play through the speakers. You smiled into his chest before breaking free from his embrace.
‘Yeah! Come on, come on, come on, come on Now touch me, babe Can't you see that I am not afraid’
Sharing a knowing look, you both started to dance. Not wanting to disrupt any neighbours you both chose not to sing along like you usually did. Instead, you mouthed the words in sync as if you were competing in a lip-sync battle.
‘What was that promise that you made? Why won't you tell me what she said? What was that promise that you made?’
The two of you circled happily around one another. It wasn't long before the air guitars came into play.
And as the song concluded, Spencer cupped your cheeks. “I love you.” He muttered, gazing deep into your eyes. “I love you too.” You replied smiling.
Without another word, Spencer’s lips crashed against yours. Both your heads tilting hungrily from side to side to vary pressure. Hearts hammering loudly. Your hands made their way up his muscled back as his hands traveled down your neck, giving it a gentle squeeze.
"Why don’t we move this party to the bedroom?” He suggested, his face still only inches away from yours. You lifted your hand, and brushed some of his light curls away behind his ear. “I do believe I read somewhere that it is considered bad luck not to christen the bed on the first night of living together.” You stated giggling.
Spencer raised an interested brow. “What else does the article say?”
“How about I just show you.” And like that, your lips were on his once again as he blindly led you to the bed.
~~
“And now ladies and gentlemen we would like to bring out our newlyweds, Dr. & Mrs. Reid, to dance their first dance as husband and wife. Let’s give them a hand.”
Spencer turned to you, that warm kindhearted smile you loved so much circling his lips. He offered you his hand. “Mrs. Reid.” You took it gladly. “Dr. Reid.”
He led you to the middle of the dance floor and swiftly wrapped one arm around your waist, holding you close, while the other hand intertwined itself with yours. Music started to play and the two of you swayed elegantly from side to side.
“I have a surprise for you.” Spencer whispered in your ear before briefly pulling apart and twirling you around.
Suddenly the music stopped. Sounds of disappointment echoed through the watching crowd as you shot your husband a quizzical look.
A melody you knew all too well filled the space.
Your mouth parted slightly in shock as Spencer let his arm fall from your waist. He spun you around once again and began rhythmically banging his head to the beat of the song. You couldn't help but giggle at the sight before joining in.
Excited screams echoed through the crowd as they cheered on. Even though you heard them, you knew people were watching and documenting this moment, you felt as if there was no-one else around - déjà vu.
Spencer pressed his forehead lightly to yours, his hands cupping your cheeks. His lips twirled into a smile. A big smile that you reciprocated. Feeling as if you were on cloud nine, you looked deep into each others eyes and whole heartedly sang along with the song. Your song.
‘I'm going to love you Till the heavens stop the rain I'm going to love you Till the stars fall from the sky For you and I’

Stiles- If I Can’t Have You, No One Can (Obsessed Part 4)
A/N: When I was initally writing this series I had a set plan for where I wanted it to end and how. I was recently rewatching the last few episodes of season 2 and I got struck with some inspiration. Let me know down below if you guys want a part 5 so I can continue the series!
TRIGGER WARNING: Stalking, kidnapping
Here are the links for Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.
“Right there!” Stiles cried, frantically gesturing toward the computer screen on his dad’s desk. “Stop! Stop! See? There he is again.”
They were scrolling through hours of security footage recorded at the hospital the night one of Matt’s victims was killed. So far, all they had managed to capture were shots of him with his back turned. This tape was no different.
“You mean there’s the back of his head again,” the Sheriff told him.
“Okay, but look. He’s talking to someone!”
Scott followed Stiles’ gaze. His eyes widened. “He’s talking to my mom.”
He hastily pulled out his phone out of his jeans and called his mom, hoping she would be able to confirm that it was Matt. Stiles tapped his foot nervously as they talked. His shoulders slumped in relief when he heard her say that Matt was the one she had seen.
“Alright,” the Sheriff said when she hung up. He picked up a manila evidence folder from his desk.
“We’ve got shoe prints alongside the tire tracks at the trailer site...”
“And if they match, that puts Matt at the scene of three murders,” Stiles said. “The trailer, the hospital, and the rave.”
“Actually four,” the Sheriff told him, flipping through the documents in the folder. “A credit card receipt for an oil change was signed by Matt a few hours before the murder.”
Stiles let out a sigh of relief. “Alright, Dad, if one’s an incident, two’s a coincidence, and three’s a pattern, what’s four?”
“Four’s enough for a warrant.”
Stiles curled his fist in triumph. “We can find Y/n.”
“Scott, call your mom back. See how quickly she can get here. If I can get an official ID, I can get a search warrant. Stiles, go to the front desk. Tell them to let Scott’s mom in when she gets here.”
“On it.” Stiles nodded hastily and turned down the hall.
His whole body was humming with adrenaline now. He had spent the whole night terrified, wondering what Matt was doing to you. Stiles knew you were probably betting on the fact that they would find you. After all, it was what he would have done in your situation.
You have saved each other plenty of times before, and now it was his turn again. He knew he could do it, he just wasn’t sure what Matt would do to you in the meantime.
Stiles had tried his best to protect you, but he knew it hadn’t been enough. He should have pushed harder when he suggested you go to the police the other night. He should have kept a closer eye on you at the party, but he had been too caught up in his own issues.
He tried to shake off those thoughts as he walked down the halls of the station, telling himself that he still had time to make up for it. He had told you the other night that everything he did was to keep you safe, and that was still true.
As he rounded the corner of the hall, Stiles realized that the officer on duty was no longer standing at the front desk.
“Hello?” he called, looking around for her.
That was when he noticed her black combat boot sticking out from behind the corner of the desk. He felt a shiver run down his spine, and he realized she was lying on the floor among a mess of fallen papers. Her eyes were wide open, but they weren’t moving, and her tan uniform was stained dark red with blood.
She was dead, but as Stiles took in the horrific sight, he also noticed another chilling detail. The holster on her hip was empty. Someone had taken her gun.
Stiles stumbled back, turning around, only to come face to face with you.“Y/n?”
Tears were slipping from your eyes, and your lip was trembling. You looked terrified, standing there in your disheveled dress. It was the same one you had been wearing at the party last night.
Matt was standing behind you, one hand one your shoulder as he pressed the dead officer’s gun into your back.
“If you make one move I’ll shoot her,” he told Stiles.
Stiles reluctantly held up his hands. “Okay. Okay, fine.”
“I’m sorry,” you mouthed, but he shook his head. You had to know this wasn’t your fault.
Matt kept the barrel of the gun pressed against your back as Stiles led you further into the station. He turned into his dad’s office, and you realized that the Sheriff and your brother were also there.
“Y/n!” Scott cried.
He started forward, but Matt ordered him to stop, waving the gun so he and the others could see it.
“Matt,” the Sheriff said slowly. He held up his hands.
“It’s Matt, right? Matt, whatever’s going on, I guarantee there’s a solution that doesn’t involve a gun.”
Matt’s lips curled into a sick grin. “You know it’s funny you say that, because I don’t think you’re aware of just how right you are.”
“I know you don’t wanna hurt people-”
“Actually, I wanna hurt a lot of people. You four weren’t on my list, but I could be persuaded...and one way is to try calling somebody on your cell phone like McCall is doing.”
Scott ripped his hand out of his pocket, looking between you and Stiles apologetically.
“That...that could definitely get someone hurt.”
“Everyone?” Matt gestured with the gun, and you knew he was telling them to give up their phones. “Now!”
“Come on,” the Sheriff told the boys calmly.
Stiles looked back at you.
“Pretty sure he tossed mine out the window last night,” you muttered.
Matt led the four of you to the tiny jail at the back of the station. There, he made Stiles handcuff his dad to a bench. You felt your stomach drop. Now the three of you were completely on your own with Matt.
He waved the three of you in front of him and forced you to walk up to the front of the station. As you passed by another hallway, you gasped.
Three other officers were lying in the hallway and all of them appeared to be dead. Their chests had been ripped open so forcefully that every wall around them was splattered with blood.
You looked away, fighting the urge to vomit.
“What, are you gonna kill everyone in here?” Scott demanded.
“No,” Matt said with a scoff. “That’s what Jackson’s for. I just think about killing them...and he does it.
He forced you back into Stilinski’s office, where he made Stiles log into his dad’s computer. Matt had him delete every bit of evidence, including the video footage of him at the hospital. Scott was destroying the paper evidence in the shredder, including the shoe prints that would have matched Matt’s boots.
Stiles glared at Matt from behind the desk, wanting to rip him apart as he stroked his fingers down your hair. He had forced you to sit next to him on the couch, and you were currently staring intently at the tiled floor.
Stiles had already seen the bruises Matt had left on your throat. The only thing keeping him from jumping across that desk was the knowledge that Matt would have Jackson rip all of you to pieces at a moment’s notice.
“Deleted,” he told Matt bitterly, gesturing toward the computer. “And we’re done. So, Matt, since all the people you brutally murdered deserved it, because they killed you first-whatever that means-we’re good here, right? I’ll just get my dad and we’ll go. You know, you continue on the whole vengeance thing, enjoy the Kanima.”
Before he could respond, the glow of headlights swept through the windows. You could hear tires crunching on the gravel of the parking lot outside.
“Sounds like your mom’s here,” Matt told you and Scott.
“Matt, don’t do this,” you begged.
“When she comes to the door, we’ll just tell her to leave,” Scott added. “I’ll tell her we didn’t find anything! Please, Matt.”
The sound of the metal door creaking open echoed through the station, and Matt grinned. “If you don’t move now, I’m gonna kill Y/n first, and then your mom.”
He pressed the gun up against your back, and Scott glared at him. Matt pulled you up by the back of your dress and gestured for Scott and Stiles to go first.
“Open it,” he ordered Scott, when you had made your way back to the front lobby.
“Please,” Scott begged one more time.
“Open. The. Door,” Matt told him, enunciating each word carefully.
Scott reached out, shaking his head regretfully. When he turned the knob, the door slowly creaked open to reveal the person standing there. It wasn’t your mom, but Derek Hale.
“Oh thank god,” Scott breathed.
But Derek simply stared at him. Then, he pitched forward and slammed straight onto the floor below. Jackson was standing behind him, half transformed. He held up one scaly hand, still dripping with clear venom, and stalked into the lobby.
Matt walked over and knelt in front of Derek, flipping him on his back. He was now completely paralyzed.
“This is the one controlling him?” Derek asked from the floor. “This kid?”
“Well, Derek, not everyone’s lucky enough to be a big, bad werewolf.”
Matt straightened up, glancing between you, Scott, and Stiles. “That’s right! I’ve learned a few things lately. Werewolves, hunters, kanimas...it’s like a freakin’ halloween party every full moon.”
He smirked. “Except for you Stiles. What do you turn into?”
Stiles glared at him.
“Abominable snowman,” he snarked. “But it’s more of, like, a wintertime thing. You know...seasonal.”
Matt rolled his eyes, and in seconds, Jackson was swiping his claws across the back of Stiles neck.
“Hey!” you cried.
“Bitch,” Stiles swore at Matt, before his knees went out from under him. He crashed onto the ground, right on top of Derek’s chest.
“Get him off of me,” Derek growled.
Matt laughed. “Oh, I don’t know, Derek. I think you two make a pretty good pair. It must suck though, having all that power taken away from you with just a little cut to the back of the neck. I bet you’re not used to feeling this helpless.”
Derek glared up at him from the floor. “Still got some teeth. Scoot down here a little closer, huh? We’ll see how helpless I am.”
“Yeah, bitch.”
Stiles’ voice was muffled from being facedown against Derek’s chest, but you couldn’t help but smile.
For the second time that night, headlights flashed through the windows of the sheriff’s station. You could hear another car pulling to a stop outside.
“Is that your mom?” Matt asked. “Do what I tell you to, and I won’t hurt her. I won’t even let Jackson near her.
“Scott, don’t trust him,” Stiles mumbled into Derek’s shirt.
Scott remained frozen in front of the door, but Matt was impatient. He reached forward, snatching you by your hair and tugging you back against him. He wrapped his arm around your neck, squeezing against your windpipe and cutting off your breath.
“This work better for you?” he asked Scott.
You reached up, scratching at his arms, but he didn’t even flinch.
“Okay, stop, just stop,” your brother begged.
“Then do what I tell you to!” Matt spat.
“Okay, alright, stop!”
Matt finally let you go, right as you were on the verge of blacking out. You hit the floor on your hands and knees, gasping and dizzy from the lack of oxygen.
“You,” Matt said, gesturing to Jackson. “Take them in there. You two, with me.”
He yanked you up off the ground by your arm, and gestured for Scott to open the door as Jackson hauled Derek and Stiles out of the lobby.
When the door finally opened, Matt pulled you behind the corner of the hallway. You could hear the door squeaking open, and your mom asking “Scott?”
You were trembling as Matt held you back against his chest. What would he do to your mom?”
“You scared me,” you heard her say. “Where is everyone?”
That was when Matt shoved you out in front of him. Your mom gasped your name. As far as she had known, you were still missing.
When she saw Matt come out behind you and press the gun against your back, she froze.
“Mom,” Scott told her nervously. “Just do what he says. He promised he wouldn’t hurt you.”
“He’s right,” Matt agreed.
Then, he raised the gun, and shot Scott in the stomach. You and your mom both screamed, but as she rushed forward, Matt pointed the gun at you.
“But I didn’t say I wouldn’t hurt him.”
Scott was holding himself up using the wall, just barely managing to not fall to his knees. He had one hand pressed against his side, and blood was beginning to pool through his shirt. You knew he would heal from the gunshot wound, but your mom didn’t.
She tried to step forward, but Matt waved the gun.
“Back! Back!” he ordered.
“Mom,” Scott choked. “Mom, do it. Please mom.”
You could hear Stiles' dad from all the way at the back of the station. He had undoubtedly heard the gunshot.
“Matt! Matt, listen to me-!”
“Shut up!” Matt roared. “Shut up! Everybody shut the hell up!”
He gestured to Scott before training the gun back on you. “Get up, or I shoot your sister next.”
“Please,” your mom begged. Tears were running down her cheeks. “He needs to see a doctor.”
Matt tilted his head. “You think so?”
“It’s alright,” Scott insisted. “I’m okay.”
“No, sweetie, you’re not,” your mom insisted.
She began to babble about how he was just feeling the adrenaline, how he needed to get to the hospital. You looked over at your brother, and he met your eyes. There was no way he was going to be able to keep his secret after this, provided you all made it out alive.
“They have no idea, do they?” Matt asked you.
You didn’t answer him. Your mom was still trying to convince Matt to let her take Scott to the hospital.
“Lady, if you keep talking, I’m going to put the next bullet in her head.”
He raised the gun to your skull. Your breath caught in your throat when you felt the barrel of the gun against your skin.
Your mom took a deep breath, and held up her hands. Tears were streaming down her face, leaving wet lines of black mascara. “Okay...okay.”
Matt shoved you in front of him, pushing you down the hall. He paraded you back through the station, and locked your mom into the cell next to the bench Stilinski was cuffed to.
When Matt shut the cell door, your mom reached out through the bars, grasping your hand tightly. “You’re okay?”
You nodded, tears slipping from your own eyes. “I’m okay. Stiles and Scott made sure I was safe.”
“Back to the front McCall!” Matt barked. “Both of you!”
You glanced back at your mom reluctantly as Matt shoved you in front of him. He walked behind you and your brother as you headed out into the hallway. Then, he herded you into the station breakroom.
There were a few tables and some chairs, but even though you were exhausted, you were too afraid to sit down. Scott leaned against one of the tables, still grasping his bloody side. You guessed the wound wasn’t fully healed yet. If the bullet hadn’t exited, it wouldn’t be able to close unless someone pulled it out.
“The evidence is gone,” Scott told him. “Why don’t you just go?” Matt raised his eyebrows. “You really think the evidence mattered that much? No. No, I want the book.”
“What book?” Scott asked him,
“The bestiary!” Matt snarled. “And not just a few pages. I want the entire thing.”
“I don’t have it. It’s Gerard’s. You told him that, didn’t you?” He was looking at you now. You shrugged. “I tried.”
Scott glanced back over at Matt. “What do you need it for, anyway?”
“I need answers.”
“Answers to what?”
Frustrated, Matt yanked up the edge of his shirt, revealing his scale-covered side. “To this!”
Scott’s eyes went wide. If Matt was turning into another kanima, there was nothing stopping him from killing whoever he wanted. When you looked at your brother’s face, you had the sneaking suspicion that you two would be next on his list.
------
Stiles laid on the floor of the station, staring up at the ceiling. The tiled floor was cold against his back, which was a welcome relief considering sweat was dripping down his neck. He wasn’t sure whether it was just hot in the station, or if he was nervous. If he was being honest, it was both.
He and Derek had been lying there for what felt like hours, but Stiles knew it was probably only thirty minutes.
“Hey,” he said, breaking the silence. “Do you know what’s happening to Matt?”
“I know the book’s not gonna help him,” Derek said grimly. “You can’t just break the rules. Not like this.”
Stiles tried to look over at him from the corner of his eye.
“What do you mean?”
“The universe balances things out. It always does.”
“Is it because he’s using Jackson to kill people who don’t deserve it?”
“And killing people himself,” Derek added.
Stiles thought for a moment. “So if he breaks the rules of the Kanima, he becomes the Kanima?”
“Balance,” Derek agreed.
“Will he believe us if we tell him that?”
“Probably not.”
Stiles sighed. “Okay, he’s gonna kill all of us once he gets that book, isn’t he?”
“Yep...except for maybe Scott’s sister.”
Stiles gritted his teeth. “I’m gonna kick his ass the second I can move again.”
“That’s a great way to get her throat ripped out too.”
Stiles didn’t respond. He knew Derek was right, but a part of him wanted to go after Matt without thinking about the consequences. He knew he had left those bruises on your neck. He knew that the minute you shattered Matt’s fantasy, he would kill you too. He had to do something before that happened.
“I know you’re in love with her.”
Stiles swallowed at Derek’s words. “Maybe.”
“I can tell. I know you’d do anything to save her, but right now, we need to be smarter.”
“Alright,” Stiles relented. “So what do we do? Do we just sit here and wait to die?”
“Unless I can figure out a way to push the toxin out of my body faster, like triggering the healing process.”
“Wha-”
He glanced down, only to realize that Derek’s claws were now protruding from his fingers. They had grown into his jeans, right into his skin, where blood was beginning to ooze.
Stiles gagged. “Oh, gross.”
-----
Back in the breakroom of the station, Matt shook his head, letting his shirt fall back down. He glanced between you and Scott.
“You know, I feel sorry for you guys. Cause right now you’re probably thinking ‘How am I gonna explain this when it heals?’. And the sad part is, you don’t even realize how incredible it is that you are healing. Cause you know what happens to anyone else when they get shot? They die!”
You and Scott exchanged uneasy glances.
“Is that what happened to you?” your brother asked.
Matt was silent. He was staring at the ground, but he didn’t look as vicious as he had earlier. He actually seemed kind of tired. Scott seemed to notice this too, so he continued to press.
“You drowned, didn’t you?”
“He shouldn’t have let them drink,” Matt muttered, still staring at the floor.
“What?” you asked. “Who? Matt, what do you mean?”
“Lahey!” He suddenly exploded. “He shouldn’t have let them drink.”
You flinched back, closer to your brother.
“What?” Scott asked. “Who was drinking?”
“The swim team, you idiot! I didn’t know what was happening. I didn’t know they had just won State…”
You and Scott listened to Matt as he went on and on. He explained how, when he was in eighth grade,  he had been heading over to Isaac’s to trade comics. Mr. Lahey was throwing a party for his swim team and letting them drink around the pool. All of Matt’s victims had been there. Tucker, Cara, Bennett, even Jessica and Shawn, the married couple.
They were joking around when Matt came into the backyard, tossing each other into the pool. Isaac’s brother Camden decided to throw Matt in too. They didn’t know he couldn’t swim.
“And the next thing I know, I’m lying by the pool,” Matt explained. “And Lahey’s standing over me, and he’s saying ‘You don’t know how to swim? What little bastard doesn’t know how to swim? You say nothing. You tell no one.’ And I didn’t.”
He let out a sharp, bitter laugh. “I would wake up every night, gasping for breath. My parents thought I was an asthamatic. They even got me and inhaler. They didn’t know that everytime I closed my eyes, I…I was drowning.”
He was silent for a few moments, and then he looked back at you and Scott. “And then came Kate Argent’s funeral.”
His lips began to curl into a smile as he explained how he had realized he and Jackson were bonded.
“I was taking some photos, and then, purely by accident, Lahey gets in one of them. I looked down at my camera, and I just had this unbelievable rage that filled up inside of me. I looked at him and I just...I wanted to see him dead.”
Matt let out a disbelieving laugh. “And the next day, he actually was! You know, Einstein was right. Imagination is more important than knowledge. It was like something out of Greek mythology, like...like the Furies coming down to punish Orestes.”
He looked over at Scott, who was staring at him, dumbfounded. Matt rolled his eyes. “You have no idea what I’m talking about do you?”
Scott swallowed. “Was that...was that the guy that stabbed out his eyes.”
“That’s Oedipus, you dumbass!” Matt barked.
His gaze snapped over at you. “You know what I’m talking about don’t you?”
You nodded carefully. “The furies were deities of vengeance, weren’t they?”
Matt nodded. “Their tears ran of blood and they had snakes for hair. If there was a crime that had gone unpunished, the Furies would do the punishing. Jackson is my Fury. You know, when I saw him the next night, I knew he had killed Lahey for me, and I knew he would do it again.”
Matt began to smile to himself again. “So I went to Tucker’s garage. I even paid for an oil change, and guess what? He didn’t even recognize me! So when he wasn’t looking, I took a shot of him with my camera...and in a few hours, he was dead. So I took more pictures. All I had to do was take their picture, and Jackson would take their life.”
You glanced over at Scott, who looked just as concerned as you were. Matt was giving no indication that he would stop the killings. You were pretty sure that he and Stiles were next on his list.
Scott opened his mouth, maybe to try and convince Matt to let you all go, but he never got the chance to speak. The thick, acrid smell of smoke filled the air, and suddenly the room was engulfed in a white cloud.
Sirens began to wail, echoing through the halls of the station. They let out a sharp, bleating sound that hurt your ears.
“What is this?!” Matt demanded. “What’s happening? What’s going on?!”
He suddenly reached out, snatching you by the arm.
“I don’t know!” Scott cried. “Y/n, where are you?”
“I’m right here!”
He reached out, trying to see if he could grab you, but Matt yanked you backward against him. He pressed his gun against your side and forced you out the nearest exit.
Bright yellow emergency lights began to flicker, illuminating the breakroom. Jackson passed you and Matt as you left the room. He was headed right toward Scott. You tried to pull out of his grasp, but he dug his nails into your arm.
“Scott!” you screamed.
“I’ll have Jackson rip your mom apart next,” he snarled.
He dragged you through the halls of the station, keeping the gun pressed tightly against your side. The smoke was starting to dissipate now, and the flashing lights ensured that Matt knew where he was going.
He shoved open a door and hauled you into a darkened garage. The long room was bordered by bay doors on one side. A few desks littered the room, but it was mostly filled with police squad cars or transport vans.
Matt dragged you past tool carts and spare tires, and you struggled not to trip.
“Please, Matt,” you begged. “Just let me go.”
“Shut up!” Matt snapped. He looked around frantically until he spotted a door with a glowing, red exit sign. He pushed you toward it and forced you outside.
Cool air hit your face as you stepped out into the night, but you didn’t have time to appreciate it. He broke into a run, keeping one hand on your arm as he pulled you further from the building. Panic began to build in your chest.
A couple hundred yards ahead, the clearing you and Matt were running through ended with a line of trees. There was a small creek running at the edge of it. Farther downstream, a bridge crossed over the water. Matt began to pull you in the opposite direction.
Suddenly, you stumbled, falling onto your knees in the grass. Matt reached down to haul you up, but when his guard was down, you knocked the gun out of his hand. It landed somewhere in the grass, and he was unable to see where it went in the dark.
You scrambled onto your feet as Matt felt for the gun in the grass, but when he realized you were running, he abandoned it.
“No!”
He tackled you to the ground before you could even make it five feet away, and the impact knocked the wind out of you.
You squirmed, but he quickly pinned you down into the grass.
“Get off me!” you gasped, but his hands were pressing your wrists into the grass.
He smiled down at you, but there was an empty look in his eyes. Your heart began to pound even harder against your chest.
“Do you remember when I said that I’m not the type of guy that’s gonna say something like ‘If I can’t have her, no one can.’?”
You writhed under him, but your exhaustion had caught up with you. He was much stronger, and now that he was turning into another kanima, you didn’t have a chance of fighting him off.
Matt didn’t wait for you to respond to him. He just kept talking and grinning down at you with that sick look in his eyes.
“See, that’s not entirely true,” he mused. “Because, Y/n, if I can’t have you. No one can.”
Then his hands were on your neck, squeezing. You fought him, gasping for air that wouldn’t come. He was going to kill you.
You reached up, scratching at his hands and wrists. You could feel his skin peeling away under your nails and the warm, wet blood you were drawing. Still, it wasn’t enough.
Your vision was beginning to cloud. Your attempts to fight him off were growing weaker by the second. All you could think of was Stiles.
The two of you always seemed to be saving each other in one way or another. This time, you had hoped he would be able to rescue you, but it looked like that wasn’t going to happen. You knew there was no use in hoping for anything else.
Instead, you tried to think about something good. As your mind wandered, you thought of Stiles’ honey brown eyes. You thought of the surprise and delight on his face when you said something funny that he hadn’t expected. You remembered the way he had kissed you the night at the rave, his hands warm on your cheeks.
Everything was beginning to go dark, but you were content. You swore you could hear Stiles’ voice, warm and soothing...and then it was gone.
You opened your eyes, taking one painful, gasping breath. Matt’s weight was no longer on top of you. You rolled over onto your side, desperately sucking in air as you struggled to lift yourself up into a sitting position in the grass.
You looked around, wondering what had happened. That was when you saw Matt being dragged down the hill by Gerard Argent, of all people. You didn’t understand what was happening at first, but then, Gerard threw him down into the bed of the creek.
Gerard waded out until he was knee-deep in the water. Then he grabbed Matt by his t-shirt and thrust his head under water. You watched, horrified, as he drowned him in the creek.
That was when you ran, occasionally glancing over your shoulder to make sure Gerard wouldn’t follow you. He didn’t even look up. Either he would come after you later, or he just didn’t care.
You sprinted past the bridge, only to have a pair of arms reach out and snatch you back. You opened your mouth to scream, but a hand clamped down over your lips, muffling the sound.
You were pushed up against the side of the bridge, the rough stone scraping against your back. When you saw who had grabbed you, your eyes went wide. It was Peter Hale.
It suddenly crossed your mind that maybe you hadn’t escaped Matt in the clearing. Maybe you were dead. Maybe that was why you were face to face with Peter, whose throat Derek had slashed open last month.
He held one finger to his lips as he stared down at you, and while you should have been terrified, you had the odd feeling that he wouldn’t hurt you.
“Watch,” he said quietly.
He grabbed you by the shoulders and spun you around, forcing you to look back at Matt and Gerard. You could see Matt’s motionless body floating in the water. Gerard was now standing up on the bank of the creek, his clothes still dripping wet. His lips were moving, but you couldn’t hear what he was saying. It didn’t seem to matter, because what you saw next told you everything you needed to know.
The Kanima was creeping out from the shadows, wandering toward Gerard on its hands and feet. Instead of running, Gerard lifted one arm and raised his palm. The Kanima moved closer, hesitantly. Then it lifted up one scaly, clawed hand, and touched its palm to Gerard’s.
He was now its master.
“Go,” Peter urged in your ear. “Tell your brother what you saw.”
You blinked up at him, confused. “Why?”
A smile played at the edge of Peter’s lips. “I have a feeling we’re all on the same team now.”
He let go of your shoulders and you slowly backed away from him, keeping your eyes trained on his shadowy form the entire time. When you were a few yards away, you turned your back and took off running toward the station.
Your chest was burning as you raced back toward Scott and the others. When you pushed open the doors of the station, several officers whirled around and trained their guns on you. You guessed Stiles’ dad had called for backup at some point.
As you threw up your hands, you were able to see the Sheriff, your mom, and Stiles all standing in the lobby.
“Y/n!” Stiles cried. “Oh thank god.”
The officers lowered their guns, and Stiles rushed over. He wrapped his arms around you, pulling you tightly against his chest. You froze in his arms, not quite sure how to handle his touch. The feeling of being caged against him made your skin crawl. Though you hated to admit it, it reminded you of Matt.
He pulled away suddenly, realizing you weren’t reciprocating.
“Hey...are-are you okay?”
You shook your head, suddenly feeling overwhelmed. The lights of the station were too bright, and the sound of the deputies’ boots thumping on the floor caused you to flinch. You didn’t even know where to start.
Stiles watched in shock as you suddenly burst into tears. He wanted to reach out and hold you, but by the way you had just reacted, he was afraid to touch you.
“Oh, uh…”
Before he could think of anything to say, your mom rushed over and put a hand on your back. “Let’s get you somewhere quiet, Sweetheart.”
She cast a sympathetic glance in Stiles’ direction and led you down the hall. The Sheriff followed after the two of you, no doubt planning to take your statement. Matt was nowhere to be found, and Stiles was willing to bet you knew what happened to him.
He wanted to follow, but he knew if he did, his dad would just kick him out of the room. You were a witness now, and they would need an official statement from you.
Scott came jogging down the hallway. Stiles realized he must have heard you come back.
By then, the door to the office you had disappeared into was shut.
Scott headed over to Stiles. “What happened?”
“I don’t know,” Stiles admitted. “But I don’t think your sister’s okay.”

Harry in Inferno - Canto III
I was talking to the ladies in my gc yesterday night. It was not a very optimistic moment and I said “sometimes I think Dante would have put Harry among ignavi”. One of them replied “yeah, weren’t ignavi the ones who were forced to run after a flag or something?” The word flag triggered my brain instantly. So here I am, 2 rewatches of golden and lights up and a reread of the iconic Canto III of the divina commedia later.
I’m gonna leave the text in original language (translation on the right) and just have fun with words. I like the upcoming parallels, as useless and pointless as they are lol. I’m not trying to decode anything. Let’s pretend this is just the way I would teach Dante to my kids, if I were a high school teacher. Just say the word Harry and you got their attention for an hour. Okay, so.
Canto III: the scene opens with the most emblematic words in the Italian literature. Not kidding! EVERYONE knows them.
Per me si va ne la città dolente, «Through me the way is to the city dolent»
per me si va ne l'etterno dolore, «Through me the way is to eternal dole»
per me si va tra la perduta gente «Through me the way among the people lost.»
Giustizia mosse il mio alto fattore: «Justice incited my sublime Creator»
fecemi la divina podestate «Created me divine Omnipotence,»
la somma sapienza e 'l primo amore. «The highest Wisdom and the primal Love.»
Dinanzi a me non fuor cose create «Before me there were no created things,»
se non etterne, e io etterno duro. «Only eterne, and I eternal last.»
Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate". «All hope abandon, ye who enter in!"»
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dante is reading this message written on Hell’s door. It’s a warning to whoever comes in to leave all their human expectations outside this realm. The journey is about to get rough and the things they will see there are the worst that people can experience.
I thought of the previous parallels Harry x Persephone immediately. The myth was kind of pessimistic; Persephone can’t leave the Underworld because of the consequences of her actions (eating 6 seeds of pomegranate), but Dante’s journey is a discovery journey. He is travelling through hell, describing what he sees and how he feels (Dante cries and passes out A LOT during the journey), but the ultimate reason behind his trip is to enter Heaven, where he will meet Perfection, Love and Eternity. Also his muse, Beatrice, is waiting for him.
Quivi sospiri, pianti e alti guai «There sighs, complaints, and ululations loud»
risonavan per l'aere sanza stelle, «Resounded through the air without a star,»
Per ch’io al cominciar ne lagrimai, «Whence I, at the beginning, wept thereat.»
Diverse lingue, orribili favelle, «Languages diverse, horrible dialects,»
parole di dolore, accenti d'ira, «Accents of anger, words of agony,»
voci alte e fioche, e suon di man con elle, «And voices high and hoarse, with sound of hands,»
facevano un tumulto, il qual s'aggira «Made up a tumult that goes whirling on»
sempre in quell’aura senza tempo tinta, «For ever in that air for ever black,»
come la rena quando turbo spira. «Even as the sand doth, when the whirlwind breathes.»
Dante enters Hell. He calls it “aura senza tempo” to give the idea of something that it’s meant to last forever. It’s dark like a starless night. You somehow can sense this because anything looks timeless, foggy and not meant for the human eyes to see. The souls’ pain is endless, it goes on and on non stop forever.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dante meets the damned souls for the first time. They are screaming, cursing, in agony. He feels their sorrow and starts crying out of compassion.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ed elli a me: "Questo misero modo «And he to me: "This miserable mode»
Tegnon l'anime triste di coloro «Maintain the melancholy souls of those»
che visser sanza 'nfamia e sanza lodo. «Who lived withouten infamy or praise.»
Mischiate sono a quel cattivo coro «Commingled are they with that caitiff choir»
de li angeli che non furon ribelli «Of Angels, who have not rebellious been,»
né fur fedeli a Dio, ma per sé fuoro. «Νor faithful were to God, but were for self.»
Caccianli i ciel per non esser men belli, «The heavens expelled them, not to be less fair;»
né lo profondo inferno li riceve, «Nor them the nethermore abyss receives,»
Ch’alcuna gloria i rei avrebber d'elli". «For glory none the damned would have from them."»
Dante introduces the “ignavi”, the ones “who lived without infamy or praise”. He was referring to people who weren’t able to take positions and stand for what they believed in their lives. It’s something very close to Dante’s heart because his passion for politics was the reason of his exile from the city he was born in. He couldn’t stand those people who wouldn’t fight openly for what they believe (or maybe for who they are?)
Isn’t this the major accusation people do to H? Don’t Some people call out the ambiguity of his actions, choices, silent clear enough to point the finger against him for not picking a side? The queerbaiting thing too? And H just… lets them? Kinda?
Questi non hanno speranza di morte «These have no longer any hope of death;»
e la lor cieca vita è tanto bassa, «And this blind life of theirs is so debased,»
Fama di loro il mondo esser non lassa; «They envious are of every other fate.»
misericordia e giustizia li sdegna: «No fame of them the world permits to be;»
non ragioniam di lor, ma guarda e passa. «Let us not speak of them, but look, and pass.»
E io, che riguardai, vidi una 'nsegna «And I, who looked again, beheld a banner,»
che girando correva tanto ratta, «which, whirling round, ran on so rapidly,»
che d'ogne posa mi parea indegna; That of all pause it seemed to me indignant
His words are strong words. Even Virgilio, his mate for the trip, suggests to not waste more time worrying about them. They leave together for the next stop
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And they go on with their journey not before Dante sees what the damned souls are doing: running after a flag they kinda neglected in their lives.
H doesn’t, hough. He waves it anytime he can :) remeber that video of H taking the little rainbow flag out of his jacket and waves it? How cute was that?

Suicidal Misunderstanding X
Star Wars Time Travel AU #27
Part I - - - - - Part II - - - - - Part III - - - - - Part IV - - - - - Part V - - -  - - Part VI - - - - - Part VII - - - - - Part VIII - - - - - Part IX
“I realize this is incredibly difficult,” the Nautolan Soul Healer said calmly. “But in order for us to help Obi-Wan, we need to determine the cause of his current disconnection with reality. Based on the drug panel, and convenient surveillance, we have, to the best of our ability, ruled out temporary psychosis brought on by a drug interaction.”
Cody stiffened further, not sure how to react to anything anymore. When a brother tried to end his own life, it was usually obvious why.
Sife Aerdo continued on. “There have, of course, been cases of Jedi Seers giveing into their fears of the future, or losing their sense of reality, but every case study involving such an extreme reaction was the result a gradual degradation over the course of many years. Nevertheless, it seems clear that Obi-Wan experienced a vision, and it may have impacted his breakdown to some extent. The more we know, the more successful any attempts to convince him of reality will be.”
Bant furrowed her brow in thought, trying to replay three decades of increasingly vague discussions of nightmares.
”Considering the high profile nature of his position, we cannot rule out some kind of psychological attack, perhaps even a darksider incursion.
Anakin leaned forward intently, the inside of his skull buzzing with white noise.
"All that being said, we must be prepared to treat Obi-Wan’s self harm as the  culmination of a long and quiet mental health struggle. He would not be the first in the Order to disguise such a thing with durasteel self-discipline.”
At that, Bant and Mace took a moment to release their feelings to the force, while Anakin raised his shields defensively.
Master Aerdo finally hesitated, before continuing in the same smooth tone. “I would ordinarily prefer to structure this kind of conversation quite differently- allow Obi-Wan time to share his feelings first and invite you each separately to support him in the healing process. But he’s gone from fighting sedatives and force compulsions as though the fate of the galaxy depended on it, to a self-induced coma. All while barely lucid, yet still somehow maintaining Master Class mental shielding. We need to get a better understanding of his mental landscape if we’re going to even begin the process of treatment."
It is necessary to note that everyone in that room had led, in one way or another, a somewhat miserable life. This was the main reason none of them could claim that the next five hours were the worst they had ever experienced.
“But he’s always had terrible sleeping habits.” Anakin said hoarsely.
“Yes, but I think they got worse after Qui-Gon passed,” Bant argued, not sure what point she was making.
“When I pointed out he couldn’t be getting more than three hours a night he told me that he could manage on meditation” Cody offered irritably.
“That’s technically true,” Mace confirmed. “If the Master in question is well-balanced otherwise”
“So its like his eating habits, crushing responsibilities, and repeated exposure to violence, then? Completely fine for a Jedi, in less it’s not, in which case it’s a major red flag?”
“I think it would help to establish a timeline.“
Aerdo actually dredged up old mission reports, leading to the group reluctantly contacting Ashoka for her memories of Mortis.
At her Master’s insistence, she told them everything she remembered, hazy as it was, nervously elaborating on her own memories of falling. To her confusion, Master Windu all but brushed past that, assuring her that the important thing with stepping into darkness was the choice to the return to the light. Anakin bizarrely agreed with Windu. Out loud. Unnerved by the cooperation more than anything, she put her holographic foot down and demanded to know what was going on.
Anakin took the comm-link into a separate room to speak privately.
Upon return, he informed the group (with a visibly red and puffy face) that Kit would be escorting her back from Mount Cala cleanup early, daring anyone to disagree. Windu nodded and the conversation continued on.
Together they rewatched holo-footage of Obi-Wan laughing amongst Ghost company the night before last, and debated reports from psychometric investigators who had scoured the cantina as well as Obi-Wan’s personal quarters for traces of illicit substances. Between that and another drug panel, they were finally forced to conclude that despite the timing, the alcohol at most confused Obi-Wan’s perception of a vision, or possibly simply loosened his tongue.
Bant prodded Cody to repeat every word from the holocar ride to the temple, taking furious notes. Cody was unable to stop the heat that crawled up his face.
Just when the looming horror of Obi-Wan actually preparing to intentionally die started to break over Anakin, Windu interjected.
“You don’t see what I do,” the Harun Kal said grimly. “Something galaxy-sized shattered around Obi-Wan and he didn’t break from it. The closest comparison I have is Master Yaddle’s presence when she meditated on her confinement. He’s chosen to keep going, even when, quite frankly, death would be a release. We’re missing something fundamental.”
“He said there were ‘other dark forces at work.’ Even if the fight was objectively hopeless... there’s no way he would choose to die because of it!” Anakin agreed vehemently, shaking off morbid fears.
“But he did choose to die.” Cody said quietly. And the wind went out of Anakin’s sails.
“Lets go back.”
Anakin gritted his teeth as they picked apart everything ‘unusual’ Obi-Wan had said and done leading up to his visit with Bant.
“What exactly did he...”
“So Plo Koon was able to get a read through his shields?”
“Did he have anything to eat?”
“How did that compare to...”
“When he's mentioned things in the future...did it seem good or bad to you?” Bant asked.
“Bad.” Cody and Anakin said in unison. Remembering the trip to the temple Cody spoke again, “Definitely bad.”
“Right. When we were talking he sometimes used the wrong tenses for things, people. I confronted him on not knowing ‘when’ he was after Knight Skywalker left. He told me that he knew what was real, but he was “enjoying not fully living in the moment” he also said that he intended to “wake up”
“Enjoying? That’s the exact word he used?” Cody asked incredulous.
“He did seem...mostly happy yesterday. Giddy, at points.” Anakin said, slumping in on himself.
Bant looked at her notes once more before addressing the group.
“This isn’t vision psychosis in any manner I’ve heard of before...but I think I might have a theory. He used to have intense visions when we were kids; plenty of us did sometimes, but Obi-Wan would be unable to sleep after. What terrified him more than anything was the uncertainty that he might make the wrong choice- even when the vision was about something good, or neutral. His visions gradually stopped coming around puberty. We just had a conversation about this a few months ago- how relieved he was to only have to manage flashes of precognition. If he had a random, horrifying vision of a terrible future...suicide wouldn’t be his reaction. It’s too final.”
“Even if he blamed himself for what he saw coming?” Mace asked.
“Especially if he blamed himself.” Bant said.
“What’s your theory?” Aerdo prodded.
“What if...what if he was telling the truth when he said he could separate out what was real and what was not? What if there was no distortion or blurring between now and then? What if he was just wrong about which was which?”
“That...would be a very extreme and abnormal manifestation of force-induced psychosis. He has training in distinguishing reality from visions. The continued presence of his mental shielding means that the fabric of his mind can’t be so horrifically collapsed in on itself.”
“What if the vision was actually that realistic?” Bant said, pushing back against the soul healer. “So detailed and vivid that it effectively was a reality in itself, and everything else, all of us...”
“Were just memories” Anakin finished. “It would...actually explain pretty much everything. You said he wanted to wake up and when...when I found him.” He stopped, swallowing. “When I found him, he argued with me...what if he wasn’t trying to hurt himself? If you’re right...that would mean I found him trying to get back to reality.”
“It could explain his behavior in the halls...his desperation to wake...” Sife mused “But it runs counter to every other experience I’ve had with those managing prophetic visions. Master Windu, could that explain the shatterpoints you saw?”
“I’m not certain. It would have to have been extraordinarily real to create the echos of Shattering I witnessed. I don’t know if that depth of vision has occurred before, but then again, many things are possible in the force.”
“You really think he might have been...trying to wake up from dream? By killing himself?!” Cody asked incredulous.
“If that ends up being what happened I am going to give him such shit. That is the worst way to end a vision.” Anakin replied.
“Yes. It is.” Bant said pointedly. “That’s why it’s a last resort, after every other attempt to wake fails.”
They all sat in silence, processing various implications. Cody was unnerved by another terrifying insight into force powers, as well as the idea that the General might vividly remember Cody being inexplicably mind-controlled into trying to kill him. Anakin was trying to understand what this would mean for them, and the conversations he had thought they had had. Did...any of it count, if he thought he was offering it to a hallucination?
“Alright, this is a valuable working idea, but let’s make sure to examine everything with an open mind before we draw any more conclusions. Anakin, what happened after you left the healers office?”
Obi-Wan’s critique of the practicalities of visiting a soul healer could be and was interpreted multiple ways. The incongruity of peacekeepers in war sparked a rehash of earlier discussion. More apologies. Self identifying as ‘crazy’ inspired new debate, especially in the context of the new theory.
“When I saw him enter the fountain room I assumed he had had a brutal run-in with  dark force user.” Windu explained. “Based on everything we’ve gone over, I don’t understand when...but some of the more insidious sith compulsions work by taking whatever small anger or hurt you feel and magnifying them until they consume you. If Obi-Wan was already experiencing self loathing...”
Cody sucked in a breath. “Then a Sith mind suggestion would bring him to commit suicide. It...sounds like something he might do, if he was partially in control. Take the blow rather than let himself be used as a weapon against anyone else, even his worst enemy.”
“Hells, it could have been an even vaguer compulsion, driving him to attack the person he hates the most,” Bant added darkly.
Anakin buried his head in his hands, trying to hold it together. He couldn’t afford to lose control or get angry. Hells, getting angry at Obi-Wan for ‘failing him’ when in pain could be the reason Obi-Wan was currently in the healing halls. The man said he loved him unconditionally, then practically had a breakdown over how much Anakin pushed that unconditional love to the breaking point, then killed himself. How was he supposed to-
“Anakin? Are you alright to continue?” someone said.
“Yes. No. There’s more I have to tell you...I don’t know if it will help but - it was hurting Obi-Wan...I...”
“Let’s just take it one step at a time. What happened after you left Mace?”
Apparently even Cody somehow knew more about Bruck Chun than Anakin. Master Windu and Eerin told different sides of the same sad story, which spiraled back into a conversation about Obi-Wan’s inadequacy issues, which somehow devolved into a long rant about Qui-Gon Jinn that Master Windu had apparently been holding back for years.
“My apologies.” He said afterwards, clearing his throat as the group stared, taken aback. “Old grievances. Go on Anakin, what did happened after you got to the ‘secret spot.’”
“He...was skirting around whatever was bothering him...I pushed him...told him I wanted to help...he said I couldn’t...because it was me...because of what I...”
Anakin stood up suddenly, feeling the walls of the room closing in.
“I’m sorry- I’m sorry I-”
He ran out.
He turned around almost immediately, pacing in the small corridor, knowing he couldn’t leave, simply needing a minute to catch his breath.
Master Windu followed him out after a moment, not saying anything, just standing there. Watching him.
“What!” Anakin finally snapped. “What do you have to say that I don’t know already!”
“Knight Skywalker-”
“Don’t call me that! I DON’T DESERVE-”
Anakin let out a frustrated snarl, punching a wall. The crumble of stone beneath this fist briefly made him feel better, but then he remembered Obi-Wan’s heartbroken expression in the light of an underworldly glow, and the tiny, choked sound he heard when the healers moved him and Anakin just...collapsed, falling to his knees.
Master Windu sank down gracefully beside him.
“Anakin. This isn’t about attachment issues, is it.”
“Not really, no. I mean, maybe you’ll blame attachment but it’s more about...”
“Anger.”
Anakin looked up at that, trying to regain the meditative calm he had felt for a glimmering moment yesterday, right in-between making peace in the cave and everything burning to ash.
“You know that I have had my own struggles with anger. It is how and why I came to develop Vaapad.”
“Yes, but you’ve Mastered your anger. And you’ve never...never given in to hate.”
A beat passed and Windu watched some of Skywalker’s familiar breaking points flicker into view.
“You’ve done something. Something you know the Jedi won’t forgive.”
“Obi-Wan forgave me.” Anakin said, whispering. “He said that even though I couldn’t fix what I did he loved me anyway and I just needed to...to honestly regret what I did and not do it again. I told him I’d get rid of my lightsaber and I meant it and...I thought he forgave me. I was ready to go to the Council with him, come clean about everything. And then I left him alone to get dinner and when I came back...he was holding my lightsaber. My lightsaber.”
Anakin buried his face in his hands, shuddering with creeping cold.
“I’m not going to critique your and Obi-Wan’s attachment to each other right now. I’m well aware that much of the order has turned to personal ties to maintain their stability given the ongoing horrors of war. I am, for many reasons, wary of the risks this brings us, yet it is also true that risks do not automatically mean failure. I myself have mastered my emotions in a different manner than conventional wisdom councils.”
Windu spoke carefully. For all that he and Anakin had similar relationships with the force, they rarely saw eye to eye on any given subject. At a certain point, Mace had accepted that the volatile young man was determined to find the worst possible interpretation for anything he said. And Mace was not the order’s most patient diplomat.
“As for your crime, whatever it is, l will tell you this: Unless you choose to renounce the code and leave our number, you will be treated as a Jedi Knight, subject to our protections, as well as our judgement. You will receive appropriate mental counseling. If you are judged to be a danger to those around you, your actions will be curtailed and monitored, possibly through temporary confinement.  The Jedi do not believe in punitive measures for their own sake, but you may be required to provide restitution to those you harmed, perhaps indefinitely.
Silence hung perilously between them. Windu watched a tremor run through the unfathomable kaleidoscopic of shatterpoints that had orbited Skywalker since he was a boy. A small one broke inward, and an attached tangle of larger, darker ones fell away, crumbling to dust. The rest faded from view, invisible for the moment. A choice had been made, some decision that closed off at least one path to the darkside.
“There’s no one to make restitutions to.”
“...You’re going to have to elaborate on that.”
“Let’s go back inside- I don’t want to do this twice.”
They returned to the increasingly hated meeting room.
Anakin spoke in an outpouring of words about love and hate, about misplaced revenge and now uncertain forgiveness. When he finally finished, the room was deathly silent.
The three Jedi sat quietly while Cody pinched the bridge of his nose. “I guess this is why Jedi have the no attachment rule, huh? I admit I never really got it, but I suppose even if I-”
Bant abruptly lunged up, fumbling to bring her lightsaber to Anakin’s neck. Everyone jumped to their feet, except for Anakin, who stared at Bant with a wretched expression.
“MASTER EERIN! This is not-”
“Did you do it?” she asked, ignoring the Master of the Order.
“Bant!”
“It was my first thought after I saw him. We all rushed in expecting a fight, or a bomb, only to find you, insane, and him with a hole next to his heart. I didn’t want to believe it of course, but you’ve always had a violent streak that Obi-Wan, force help him, couldn’t quite soothe away. A fight gone wrong. Master Windu said it was suicide, and I believed him, and I’ve been trying to make sense of that ever since. But Mace found you after, didn’t he? After you felt guilty? Did you think he was going to turn on you?”
“Bant Eerin, you are dangerously-”
“No.” Anakin whispered.
“Obviously I might be why. But I didn’t- I couldn’t. I know I’m not good but I can’t even imagine- holding a saber against him like that. Kriff, do you not get how much I can’t handle losing people I love? I was insane when you saw me because I saw someone trying to kill Obi-Wan and I couldn’t even fight them.”
Bant held his gaze for several lingering seconds, deactivated her saber and dropping it with a clatter. They stared at each other, breathing heavily and not blinking. She returned to her seat, moving jerkily. “I apologize Knight Skywalker. That was uncalled for.”
“I wish I could say I wouldn’t have done the same thing in your shoes” he responded lowly. Bant made a tiny, unintelligible noise in reply.
Cody collapsed back into his chair, holstering his blaster.  “Alright then...so after you finished sitting in the fountain room...what happened next?”
Everyone stared at him.
“What?”
“You’re handling Anakin’s confession somewhat dispassionately. We’re simply surprised.” Mace said slowly, returning to his seat at the same time as Master Aerdo fell into theirs.
Cody shifted uncomfortably. “The vod were trained in a wide range of enemy suppression tactics. While we’re extremely glad the Jedi have never asked us to employ them, I’m not...unfamiliar with this scale of deliberate slaughter. At least in the hypothetical, sir.”
“I see.” Aerdo said. “That is a valuable insight to have, thank you. Knight Skywalker-”
“Just...call me Anakin. Or Skywalker.”
“Anakin. When did this happen?”
“About two years ago, immediately before the First Battle of Geonosis.”
“And have you had any similar experiences with giving into the darkside since?” they asked placidly.
“I don’t think so but...we went to war the next day and....I don’t know if I’ve stopped fighting since it- since I did what I did.”
“Hmm. Anakin, would you mind stepping outside the room and waiting in the corridor for a moment please?”
He bit his tongue, tasting blood, and quietly walked out the door while the Masters decided his fate. He leaned back against a wall, desperately wanting to see Padme.
To his surprise, the door opened barely a few minutes later, and he was politely invited back in.
“Anakin.” Master Windu spoke. “Thank you for telling us this. It’s an important insight into Obi-Wan’s feelings right now, and I recognize that you could have kept it a secret. As Head of the Order, and with the advice of a Senior Soul Healer, I have made a decision. You will be assigned a personal soul healer, who you will start seeing tomorrow. Commander Cody pointed out that over nearly two years of continuous warfare, you have maintained some of the the lowest trooper casualty units of any division, by a significant margin if we evaluate based on mission risk level. Your civilian and enemy casualties will be reviewed, but even considering constant war, since your massacre of the Tuskens, you have clearly managed to at least... direct your violence away from the innocent. We do not consider you a threat to the inhabitants of the world. For the time being, I see no real benefit to limiting or tracking your behavior within the temple or on planet, but you are barred from leaving orbit. I have decided to delay a full reckoning before the council until such time that your former Master is well enough to provide his own opinion. Give me just cause, and I will have you confined to a force-suppressing cell. Do you understand?”
Anakin nodded, bowing in acknowledgment. All things considered, it was...honestly better than he expected.
“Now, as Cody” Windu paused. “My apologies, as the Commander was saying-”
“Cody’s fine, sir” Cody said, wrung out in a way different from anything Kamino had trained him for.
“...I think we can all consider ourselves on a first name basis at this point.” Bant said with a snort. She paused. “That includes you Anakin. I really don’t know how to handle what you did but kark it, I don’t want to hate you. For myself.”
Everyone nodded.
“As Cody was saying, what happened next?”
Peace. Comfort. Hunger. A warning in the force...
-
“I tried to pull the saber back but his finger was already on the igniter...”
“You probably saved his life. Even a second later-”
“I know, that’s almost the worst part.”
-
“-his neck”
“Why would he change weapons?”
“What if-”
-
“He said what to you and Healer Che?”
“That has to support the detailed vision idea, think about-”
“I’m sorry, Emperor?”
-
“I think we’re done.”
Anakin stared blankly at Sife. “But we didn’t figure anything out.”
“Not conclusively, but we’re unlikely to make any more progress, you’ve given me enough information to preform a meaningful meditative scan, or guide a conversation, should Obi-Wan wake, or navigate through his mind, should we decide to make a more decisive attempt at his shields.”
“Master Aerdo... I leave the final judgement up to you, but I strongly urge you to make a more decisive attempt. I am more convinced now than I was...” Mace glanced at the chronometer “five hours ago that this was motivated by a specific, external stimuli, likely dark. Do you disagree?”
“No.” they said with a sigh. “But I don’t want to underestimate how much underlying factors might have contributed to his response to stimuli, including underlying factors that none of you were aware of.”
The Nautolan Soul Healer stood up, tucking their hands into their sleeves to address the room with classical Jedi serenity. It was a little irritating.
“In any case, we all need to sleep, eat, and meditate. Master Eerin, you have the rest of the day off, I've cleared it with Master Che already. Master Windu, I leave the final judgement up to you, and I am aware that your duties as Master of the Order are unceasing, but I urge you to take some time to center yourself before returning to the council. Commander Cody, I would be more than willing to arrange soul healing for you or any of the Vod, please let me know. Anakin, you will receive a comm later today with further details on your future healing sessions.
They bowed low, then glided out the door.
Bant stood next, bowed individually to each soul, and sped walked out.
Commander Cody cleared his throat awkwardly, “Mace- what should I tell the troops? We’re supposed to have command briefings later tonight.”
“If anyone asks about General Kenobi, tell them its classified.” I’ll schedule a briefing on the subject. Now go find Captain Rex and take care of yourself, that’s an order.”
Cody saluted, first to the high General, then to Anakin.
Finally it was just Mace and Anakin.
“Is there anyone who you trust who I can call to stay with you.” Master Windu asked.
“I can manage on my own” Anakin replied, not willing to give the Master of the Order anything else he could use against him, even after everything.
Master Windu held back a sigh.
He continued once more, making a deliberate attempt to soften his tone. “Anakin- I know we’ve had our differences, but this is not a trick, nor a trap. You’ve suffered a series of great shocks in the last 24 hours and handled them with immense maturity. I myself am struggling to deal with the emotional fallout.”
Anakin looked up at that, surprised. He didn’t seem to be struggling, but maybe that was what made him a good Jedi Master...
“As I told you before, I am not going to begrudge you the comfort of attachment. I’m rather convinced it would do you more harm than good at this point. I don’t want you flying right now, and you don’t have to be alone. I hope we have come to a better understanding today, but I doubt my presence is suddenly a comfort, though please correct me if I’m wrong. Now is there someone I can call?”
-
Padme ended her call with Master Windu extremely discomfited. She had barely heard from Anakin since he ran out on her the night before last to take care of an apparently extremely drunk Obi-Wan. He had messaged her a few times that night, promising to make it up to her, but had been comm-silent since. She had been starting to get worried, and now the Master of the Order was asking her to pick him up from the temple. Fortunately, she had already cleared most of her meetings for the week well in advance (Courascant leave usually meant THEM time, not that she was jealous of Obi-Wan, of course).
The speeder ride back from the temple was silent. All Anakin would say was that he would explain everything once they were in ‘a secure location.’
The door to the apartment had scarcely closed behind them when Anakin fell into her arms, shaking.
“Anakin, talk to me love, what’s wrong?” She gently guided him to the couch, arranging him so she could hold him protectively.
“Obi-Wan tried to kill himself.”
She let out a harsh gasp, “No! He can’t have, he would never-”
“I got to him in time, but Padme... he was holding a lightsaber to his heart. It was...really close” He burrowed deeper into the folds of her dress, and she gripped him fiercely.
“Oh gods, is he-”
“He’s physically healing, but he’s still...not all there. I spent all of today locked in a room, trying to figure out if it was a Sith Attack, or an insane vision, or..or me”
“Anakin! What do you mean ‘me’ - Obi-Wan loves you, you-”
“I know.” Anakin interrupted her again, knowing he was being unfair; he was just too exhausted to be patient.
“He told me loved me. He...he...found out about what I did to the Tusken village, You should have seen his face, Padme, he was horrified, but he still told me he loved me, and he was willing to forgive me, even though he shouldn’t”
“Of course he forgave you,” Padme whispered. “You’re not a monster, Anakin, I know you would never do something like that again.”
"And then after we talked, I left him alone and he-” Anakin choked out into her dress.
Tears ran down her face, heart breaking. “That’s- that’s horrible. Anakin...it must have have been a attack, Obi-Wan wouldn’t do that.” she said urgently.
He pulled away, horrified. “I made you cry. I made Obi-Wan cry too. I’m sorry- Padme please, promise me you won’t-”
She grabbed the sides of his head.
Her nails bit into the soft skin behind his ears as she pulled him down so they were face-to-face, vowing, “Never. I swear by the force itself, I will never choose death over life.”
He let out a relieved sigh, eyes fluttering closed.
“Now you,” she demanded
“As long as I have anyone to live for, I swear by the force, I will never choose death over life.”
She pulled him the rest of the way in for a bruising kiss. He lifted her, and they desperately clung at one another as he carried her to bed. They continued like that, clinging and grasping, until exhaustion carried him to sleep. She pulled the covers over top them both and curled around him defensively as the day slowly faded away.

A Cozy Night - Touyuki - CCS

Read on AO3
It was almost eleven at night and Yukito still having no desire to go to sleep. He was comfortably sitting under his kotatsu, accompanied by a good show on his laptop, a tin of cookies and some delicious hot tea – a perfect combo to a winter night. His plan was to finish watching the said show that same night, even if he had to stay up until dawn; it was a Friday night and he had no class nor job the next morning so he had no worries regarded his bedtime. Besides, the show was worth the loss of some sleep hours.
The silver-haired boy was completely immersed into the story, anxiously nibbling at a sugar cookie and barely noticing how his body was slowly leaning toward the laptop while his almost unblinking eyes refused to go away from the screen. The first real confront of the main character and the true villain was finally happening, and it was intense. Yukito had been waiting for it for the last seven episodes and he didn’t want to miss even the smallest detail; he was sure that everything about that scene would be important later in the story. His focus was completely stolen by the show and everything else was forgotten for some long, long minutes.
And that was why the boy nearly jumped out of his skin when the bell of his house rang, letting the half-eaten cookie slip from between his fingers.
It took him only a second to recover from the startle. He quickly paused the video and retrieved the cookie from the table, throwing it into his mouth, before heading to the front door, still chewing on the sweet. Being a little past eleven now, Yukito could only think about one single person who would come to visit him this late at night - and it made his heart singing inside his chest.
He hurried to open the door, and there was no surprise when he found Touya waiting outside, his hands shoved into the pockets of his heavy coat and a soft smile touching his lips.
“Hey!”, his boyfriend greeted him so casually, as if he wasn’t clearly freezing in that cold night.
“Touya!”, Yukito exclaimed his name for both the pleasure of saying it and as slight scold. He gave a step aside. “Hurry inside or you’ll end up getting sick!”
Touya wasted no time and complied. While Yukito closed and locked the door again, Touya carefully landed his backpack on the floor right before taking off his shoes, placing them besides his boyfriend’s ones.
“What are you doing here?”, the silver-haired boy asked while helping the other to take out his coat, which was slightly wet from the light snow that was falling outside. “I thought your shift at the restaurant would only end around midnight.”
“Things were too slow today, so my boss decided to close earlier.”, Touya casually passed his hands through his damped hair, shaking it softly. He had strongly regraded not having brought with him an umbrella or at least a bonnet.
Yukito quickly run to the cupboard to fetch a towel for him.
“If you have some spare time, you should have gone home and rested. You’ve been working harder than the usual this week.”, he said, handing the towel to Touya. It wasn't like he wasn't happy to see the other boy. Not at all. The week had been so busy that they had barely had time to meet outside the few classes they share together. However, Yukito couldn’t help but worry about Touya and his health; he would gladly sacrifice some of their time together if that meant that Touya was getting a proper time to rest, recovering all the energy he had spent between classes and all his numerous part-time jobs. He knew his boyfriend was strong, but he was still human.
“I think I can rest here pretty well, can’t I?”, Touya put the towel round his neck and gave a step forward to close even more the already short distance between them. Gently, he touched Yukito’s face, a cold hand on a warm skin, giving to both of them a pleasant shiver. Looking unbothered by the coolness of his boyfriend’s hand, Yukito covered it with his own hand, rubbing his cheek against Touya’s palm as if to lend it some warmth in a tender, affectionate gesture. As tender and affectionate as the smile they both wore on his lips. “Besides, I am home.”
Yukito’s eyes widened for a moment, his face feeling suddenly hot; he wasn’t waiting for a response like that. He felt a bubbling sensation being born inside his stomach and rise through his throat, taking the shape of a soft, cheerful giggle. “Tou-ya, you’re such a sappy!”
“Who are you calling sappy?”, Touya frowned, using the hand he was resting on the other boy’s face to pinch his cheek lightly. He looked annoyed, but Yukito knew it was only a facade; he could see all the softness around his boyfriend’s dark eyes, at the tips of his thin lips, almost imperceptibly turned upwards. And it only made him laugh even more.
Seeing Yukito like this made Touya’s frown melted into the fondest of the smiles. The urge of kissing the silver-haired boy he always feels whenever he sees his face – or thinks about him – only intensified at the that moment and Touya decided to just go for it. He leaned forward, now with both of his hand gingerly cupping Yukito’s face, bringing him closer and closer and closer, so ready to taste his lips once again, always so soft and sweet.
But the kiss never came.
“No! No! No! Rest first, kisses second!”, Yukito declared and ,with an unexpected quick movement, he turned his boyfriend around before putting his hand on his back to gently lead him to the living room.
“Yuki, what the…”
“You go rest and I’ll make some sandwiches and pour some tea for us. You can kiss me as much as you want later.”
“Fine.”, Touya agreed in defeat. It wasn’t exactly what he had planned, but it sounded good enough for him.
--
Touya took a place at the kotatsu, finishing drying his hair while listening Yukito in the kitchen preparing their snacks. He thought about offering some help to his boyfriend, but he quickly dismissed the idea; Yukito had insisted so much to him to take a rest that the boy would, for sure, kicked him out of the kitchen in no time. Without much to do, he stared at the laptop over the table, finding a paused image of what looked like an intense fight scene on its screen, and started trying to guess what this show was about.
It didn’t take much time for Touya to start feeling bored. He started darting looks at the open door, as if doing so Yukito would hurry up and come back to keep him company. He had been craving his boyfriend presence during that entire hectic week; they had had so little time to spend together these past days and Touya was eager to compensate for the lost time, for all the hugs and kisses and smiles they wasn’t able to share throughout the week.
A few more minutes had passed and Touya decided that being scolded and kicked out of the kitchen by Yukito would worth it.
However, none of it came to him.
“Ah, Toya! Great timing!”, exclaimed Yukito, his hands holding a tray piled up with half dozen  sandwiches. Resting over the sink top, another tray was waiting to be picked up, this one carrying two mugs and a steaming teapot. The sweet essence of the tea was hanging on the air, hitting Toya’s noise with the fresh smell of peaches and mint. “Can you pick the other tray, please?”
Carrying a tray each, Touya and Yukito came back to the living room and, without any waste of time, they set the table for their almost-midnight snack, sitting shoulder to shoulder under the heat of the kotatsu. Touya asked about the movie on the laptop screen and Yukito gladly talked all about it while they were eating, making sure to avoid any greater spoilers.
“That show sounds pretty cool.”, Touya said, between a bite and another. If he were being honest, he wasn’t sure if the plot of the show actually sounded that great or if it was Yukito’s enthusiasm about it that picked up his interest on it.
“If you want to, we can watch it together! I wouldn’t mind rewatching the previous episodes with you.”, his smile was so warm, so cozy when he made the offer that Touya found himself completely unable to answer anything but yes.
“Sure! Do you wanna start right now?” and the silver-haired boy didn’t need any other word to draw his laptop closer and click back on the very first episode of the series.
Rewatching the show was still pretty fun, but having Touya by his side was the best part of it. And it wasn’t only because now he had someone to share his thoughts about it. Having Touya’s arm around him, involving his body with his warmth, his scent, his strong but gentle presence, filled Yukito’s heart with the coziest of the feelings.
He felt whole. He felt safe.
He felt at home.
The same could be told about Touya. The boy could feel all the tiredness of the week melting away, leaving his shoulders lighter and his chest full of warmness and the sweetest peace. He nestled his boyfriend comfortably into his arms and rested his cheek on the top of his head, breathing slowly, absorbing Yukito’s presence and letting it impregnate his lungs, his heart, his whole being.
It was like magic; something fantastic and hard to describe, but so easy to feel – to get immerse in.
Yukito was his safe place and Touya always does his best to be the same to Yukito.
In their small, quiet world, Touya could finally feel truly relaxed, leaving all the stress and exhaustion from that long, long week behind and embrace the serenity of the moment. He allowed his body to go limp and his eyelids to get heavier and heavier, giving in to a sweet sleepiness state.
“I think we should go sleep.”, Yukito suggested, a hint of laughter in his voice. “We can watch the rest of the show tomorrow.”
Touya yawned. “Good idea.”
The taller boyfriend unwrapped his arms from around the other to stretch his body a bit, letting the silver-haired boy free to lean toward and close his laptop. But, before he could do anything else, such as get up and start cleaning up the table, Touya enlaced his waist once again, keeping him close to himself.
“Hey, don’t think I forgot about the kisses you’ve promised me!”, Touya smiled and cupped Yukito’s face with one of his hands, his thumb tenderly stroking his boyfriend’s cheek.
Yukito’s eyes lighted up like a moon finally appearing from behind a thick layer of clouds; so bright, so beautiful, so powerful against the darkness. Toya nearly lost his breath when he smiled back at him, the same smile that made him fall in love so many years ago. Sweet and vibrant. So sincere and genuine, coming from his core and growing until it blossom into his lips.
Those warm, soft lips that Touya was dying to kiss. So, that was what he did it.
Toya leaned forward and kissed Yukito exactly the way he was waiting for the whole day: slowly and affectionate, enjoying every single second of it. There was no hurry; they had all the time in the world - their private world. They could just allowed themselves to get lost in each other’s touch, to dive in each other’s warmth, in the sweetness of the other’s mouth. To Yukito, Touya’s lips had always tasted like peaches, but, somehow, they tasted especially sweet that night; he wondered if the tea they had had earlier would have something to do with that. Coincidentally, Touya found Yukito’s lips softer than ever, more tempting than ever.
“Satisfied?”, Yukito asked with a soft giggle when their lips parted. Even with their mouths parted, they kept their faces close, forehead to forehead, the tip of their noses softly brushing to the other in a loving gesture, while their bodies followed the example and still tangled in an embrace so tight that one could feel the other’s heart beating fast against their own.
“Not quite. I could have a dozen more of it, but I’m so tired right now that I think I’ll save them for tomorrow.”, as to emphasize his words, Touya closed his eyes and let his head slowly slip until it found the curve of Yukito’s neck, resting there with a content sigh. He could feel his boyfriend’s body shaking in a quiet laughter.
Yukito landed a gentle kiss on the top of Touya’s head, whispering against his dark strands: “They will be waiting for you in the morning.”
Hearing those words, Touya smiled and released the weight of his tired body over Yukito’s. Caught by surprise, the silver-haired boy’s body easily gave in with the sudden extra weight and lay down on his back with his boyfriend on his top, making both boys laugh.
Touya rested his head on Yukito’s chest and hugged his wait, while Yukito wrapped his arms around his shoulder, using one of his hands to stroke Touya’s hair in the most tender way, giving his boyfriend some pleasant goosebumps.
“We should go to bed, you know? Or we’re gonna catch a cold.”, Yukito said, but made no effort to get up or made his boyfriend to do so.
“We’ll be fine. We have the kotatsu and each other to keep ourselves warm the whole night.”, Touya’s voice was heavy with sleep, getting lower and lower with every word he said. Yukito only answer was a soft giggle and another kiss on his head.
They both felt so comfortable, so in peace resting in each other’s arms. They let the pounding of the other’s heart be their lullaby, leading them to a sweet slumber.
“Tou-ya~!”, Yukito called him with what was left of his consciousness.
“Hm?”
“Love you.”
Touya smiled to himself. “I love you, too.”

Good Night (#little-butterfly-writes contest submission)
Heyy! I wrote the most fluffy self-insert entry I could muster for the #little-butterfly-writes contest hosted by @little-butterfly-writes! I haven’t written for self-inserts for a long time and I’ve forgotten how fun it is to be self-indulgent :)) 10/10 highly recommend you to write one too! I named my MC Athena so I’ll use that name :)
Fandom: MLQC - Gavin & Athena
Genre: Fluff
Word Count: 1473
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At last, I could see the light at the end of the tunnel.
The entire company had dealt with the high workload for weeks in order to meet the strict deadlines. The heavy pressure was finally off my shoulders after wrapping up the filming and editing for the big project.
The office became more quiet as the crew members left for the day. Currently, I was one of the last people there, Minor being the other. For the past few weeks, we had always been the last ones. I underestimated him and his work ethic. He would say the same phrase around sunset: “Hey, Athena! It’s getting pretty late. Think we should call it a day?”
Every day, I would encourage him to head out first and every day, he’d insist we both leave together.
Minor watched me lock the front doors, shoving his hands in his pockets. “So! Any plans for tonight?” he asked.
Rattling the handle, I murmured, “Not really…” Suddenly rewatching my favourite shows didn’t seem as appealing as it did when I had been busy. The temptation of procrastination vanished when I needed it the most.
Minor glanced at his phone screen. “That’s great! I’ll see ya later, boss!” With that, he walked away.
“Huh?” I stared at his shrinking figure until he turned the corner of the block. He really zoned out, but I didn’t blame him. His expression held nothing but pride and relief that the project was finally over.
***
When I got home, I turned on my laptop. Although Minor never failed to get me out of the office, he couldn’t stop me from working here. Everything was done but revising some materials wouldn’t hurt. Plus, I should look over the reports that I needed to submit next week.
Frankly, I wasn’t sure how much time passed when I got up to take a long shower. After drying off, I grabbed the first comfortable thing in the closet and realized it was Gavin’s white T-shirt.
Gavin had left for a mission a few weeks ago. The mission was highly classified so I decided not to bother him for the duration of the time. My workload started piling up then and I distracted myself as best as I could. Now that work was out of the way, Gavin’s gentle eyes were back in my mind. When I imagined him smiling, I couldn’t help but do so myself. If I couldn’t see him soon, at least I could meet him in my dreams.
I turned off the light and pulled the covers to my chest, staring at the balcony window as I waited to drift off. There were traces of clouds across the glowing moon and I couldn’t bear to turn away from the serene view. It felt like I was staring at it for eternity until a shadow suddenly appeared. His amber eyes shone against the moonlight and the night wind rippled at his STF jacket, sweeping his hood down.
Before I knew it, I was already opening the balcony door, letting the chilly breeze spill in. “Gavin! You’re back!”
He nodded. Despite the time of day, Gavin didn’t look tired. In fact, with his steady composure and uniform, he looked like he was ready for another day at the Special Task Force. “Mm. The mission finished just now. I wanted to see you,” he said matter-of-factly.
No matter how long I hadn’t heard his voice, it was distinct and recognizable. I didn’t realize how much I missed him until I gave him a tight hug. It was then when I felt a sudden drop of temperature and I withdrew abruptly: “Geez, you’re freezing!”
Smiling, he tugged me close again, stroking my black hair. “Don’t worry, I’m fine. But you . . .” He furrowed his brow, noticing my loose-fitting ‘dress’. Even in the dim room, the familiar shade of red on his ears was evident. He shed his jacket and I tried to stop him, but he managed to wrap it around me.
“You need it more,” I insisted. “You’re gonna catch a cold.”
“It’s alright. I have something better.”
His hand slipped into mine. I couldn’t help but hold it tighter in hopes of generating more warmth for him. I brought him to the bed and bundled the blanket around him.
“How long were you flying? You know it gets colder at night,” I scolded, embracing him as we laid over the pillows. He wasn’t shivering but I held him close, unwilling to let go.
He burrowed into my chest and I could feel his smile through the thin fabric. “I promise to be more careful next time.”
“You always say that! Especially about your injuries. Speaking of which, let me see them.” Before Gavin could react, I yanked the blanket away, inspecting his forearms and his torso.
“Ahem, I’m-I’m okay, really,” he assured, his ears burning bright again when I pulled at his button up shirt. I only found old scars that had already been engraved into my memory.
Gavin brought my restless hands to his face. His gaze towards me never wavered. “I’m telling you the truth,” he said earnestly and kissed the back of each hand. He wrapped the blanket around us, nuzzling into my chest again.
Relief steadied my heartbeat until he looked up at me and spoke in a low tone: “Before I left for the mission, I swore I wouldn’t get injured.” He paused, pressing closer. “Do I get a reward for honouring this promise?”
Whether he was intentionally giving me the subtle, big, ol’ puppy eyes or not, I couldn’t refuse. Brushing his soft, brown fringe back, I pecked his forehead. “There,” I said, a smile playing across my lips. “How’s that?”
He frowned and cleared his throat. “I also made sure not to skip any meals.”
I gave a peck on his cheek.
“I kept my sleep schedule consistent too.”
“Eight hours?”
“Mm.”
“Was it eight hours or not?”
He nuzzled deeper into the crook of my neck, hiding his expression. Gavin’s face seemed to have warmed up since his arrival. I started laughing when he playfully bit me.
“Okay, okay, I understand. Agent B-7 has a tight schedule and he works very hard. Here,” I leaned towards his mouth and he closed his eyes, waiting expectantly. His anticipation made my heart flutter, but I couldn’t resist messing with him. In the last second, I moved lower and pressed my lips to his own neck, nibbling it for good measure and for payback.
His soft groan was barely audible before he pulled me back, pinning me down into the pillows. “I don’t think you’re being fair, Athena. Seems like you’ve forgotten about your own sleep schedule.”
I froze but I tried my best to keep my cool. “My sleep schedule is fine, thank you very much, Officer.”
Feigning doubt, he hummed. “I’m not sure. You’ve been working overtime ever since I left.” He narrowed his eyes, carefully examining mine for reaction. “If Minor hadn’t insisted any earlier, you’d be at the office until midnight every day.”
My eyes widened. “Minor?! Aw, why am I even surprised?” Now to think of it, Minor had started to work longer hours around the day of Gavin’s departure. All this time I was hoping it was because Minor had been engrossed with the Miracle Finder project, not because of a task assigned by Officer Gavin.
“It’s almost 1 am. I should’ve found you fast asleep by now. How do I know if this isn’t a bad habit of yours?” Gavin leaned in, his proximity repelled my fleeting thoughts. His blue and black uniform made him seem so much more intimidating. “So,” he murmured, “are you ready to confess?”
I hoped my face wasn’t as red as it felt, but his grin knocked down my wishful thinking. “Okay, okay. I lied. My schedule is terrible.”
“Mm.” Satisfied, he released his grip on my wrists. “Let me help you fix it. Is this okay?” He cradled me in his arms, snuggling close. “If not, I can count sheep with you again.”
I giggled, recalling that night with all the sheep. It felt like nothing yet everything had changed. Sighing contently, I leaned into his broad chest. His heartbeat was calm, lulling me to drowsiness. “I think it’s working,” I mumbled, “as always.”
Gavin chuckled as he tucked a lock of hair behind my ear. His steady gaze was genuine and pure. “I sleep better when I’m with you too.”
My eyelids grew heavy and with the last source of energy that I could gather, I lifted my head and kissed him. His lips were soft against mine and when his parted in shock, I deepened the kiss. I could hear his heartbeat racing as I slumped against him again.
“There. For everything you’ve done for me.”

Final notes: I hoped you like it! A lot of things have changed in the MLQC fandom, but I hope everyone is doing well! Reading/writing anything about comfort characters really helps me so I had fun writing this!
I also write for luciensgunsee in Instagram --- it’s mlqc x reader stuff so if you’re interested in that, do check it out! I might put the extended, uncut versions of those scenarios here in Tumblr?? If anyone is interested, please let me know :))

The Executioner’s Song (rewrite, sort of)
NOW, ONTO THE GOOD STUFF, and that means, the new stuff :-) I’ve been rewatching all Supernatural seasons and just had to write this. Disclaimer: English isn’t my first language, feel free to give any feedback/suggestions! <3 Ily all, thanks for reading <3
ONE SHOT
Pairing: Crowley x Reader, sort of Castiel x Reader but in a friendly way
Rating: T. Angst, fluff
Word count: 3.1k+
Summary: the title pretty much explains it buuut, basically, Reader gets upset about Dean betraying Crowley
Warnings: SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED SEASON 10, signs of depression, dialogues taken from the series at the beginning, a few curse words I guess?
Tumblr media
When Dean handles the First Blade over to Castiel instead of Crowley, your eyes open wide in shock.
“You lied to me” Crowley says, you can sense the hurt from the betrayal in his voice.
“It’s not the first time today” Dean makes a pause with the demon’s expectant eyes “Cain’s list? You weren’t on it” Dean says and with this, Crowley vanishes.
You begin to feel dizzy, nauseous even, a void made of uncertainty taunts your heart and your stomach, you try to hide it behind being worried about Dean, which is partly true and you let that show as you hug him, relieved he’s alive, in one piece and, mostly, or so it seems, sane. Castiel looks over at you and you just know, he knows.
The four of you get to the bunker. Not a word from anyone. At the very arrival, you excuse yourself pretending a headache along the tiredness of the whole trip, so you practically run to your room.
The minute you close the door you dial Crowley’s cellphone, your hands shaking as you do so.
Straight to voice mail. You dial again.
“Damn it Crowley, pick up the fucking phone” you pray lowly.
Voice mail again. You’ve got to be kidding. You dial a third time.
“What is it that you want?” he finally answers, voice tone a bit raised, taking into account it’s you and he never raises his voice with you, either way, you can’t but let a breath out of relief at hearing him.
“Can you come over here? Please, I’m in my room” you’re not finished telling him and he hangs up.
“Damn it Crowley!” you exclaim again while you dial his number a fourth time, the second ring hasn’t sound when he appears standing in front of you.
“What?!” he almost screams, locking the door of your room with his demon powers. He’s not afraid about Sam and Dean coming in, all guns waving and pointing at him, no, he fears for you, aware that if the Winchesters hear you, not only will they scold you, but could also stop trusting you, hell, they could even lock you up thinking it was his doing the fact that you were friends with him.
“I didn’t know!” you confess instantly, body trembling and feeling like you’re going to puke any minute. You know how Crowley feels about treason, you know damn well and you just can’t let him think you had anything to do with it. He takes a few steps back and looks at you up and down.
“Why should I believe you, (Y/N)? And how? How am I supposed to believe you? Tell me” he raises his voice once again, he doesn’t like doing that with you but this time he just can’t help himself “If you four had only told me the truth I would have gladly agreed and helped you!”
“I know, I know!” you whimper, knowing that is a big-ass declaration from Crowley, and that he wouldn’t normally admit to it, he’s just doing it because it’s you, and he’s hurt. You try to maintain your posture and not let your voice crack weeping “I swear, I had nothing to do with it, if I had known I’d have tried to convince Dean to tell you the truth! I swear!”
Crowley is about to vanish, tired of listening to you, tired of the lies, of the doubts; first his minions being influenced by Abaddon, then his mother, next the Winchesters and now... he never thought he would doubt of his most beloved hunter. A single tear escapes your eyes and Crowley stops dry from disappearing, the temptation to remove that single tear being more powerful than him, the King of Hell.
You’ve known Crowley since he was a blood junkie, locked up in the Winchester’s dungeon. Your friendship started as a naïve excuse to pass the time, at first with just a couple of hostile phrases a day when you found him, and obviously discovered he was a demon, not just any demon but the King of Hell himself, and soon after it turned into something else. When you broke your arm in a fight and had to spend a couple of months skipping on hunts, the boredom increased your time in the dungeon with Crowley while the boys were gone, and you began to admit you liked the guy, perhaps a little too much. Months kept passing and the habit of sneaking into Crowley’s room while the boys were out, stayed, sometimes you would even take the cuffs and chains off of him and let him walk and stretch inside the devils trap, he would always behave and let you put the chains back on. When he managed to free himself from the brothers, he would visit you in your room when no one else in the bunker could hear you; you would talk about anything, his life, your life, Hell, current or past hunts, funny anecdotes... you were not ready to lose that. Not now, not ever.
Crowley stares deep into your eyes as he holds your face in both his hands and wipes the tear off your cheek.
“Look at me... and tell me if I’m lying” you say slowly. He sighs.
“I’m sorry, Pet. I can’t” and with this final sentence, he leaves the room, disappearing and leaving you alone.
You swallow hard, your steps conducting you backwards until you hit the end of the bed and are able to sit. At last, you break down in tears, sobs and whines flooding you from the inside out when you hear a knock at the door.
“(Y/N)?” it’s Castiel “(Y/N) are you okay?”
You don’t respond, and Cas is forced to unlock the door and come in. He stares in shock at you but immediately locks the door back so Sam and Dean won’t come up asking questions. He sits next to you and doubtfully touches your shoulder for you to look at him, which you don’t do.
“He won’t talk to me ever again Castiel” you say in between sobs.
“Who won’t?” he asks confused, but having a mild idea of who you might be referring to.
“Crowley! He thinks I knew about Dean handing over the blade to you and not him...” you keep whimpering “He won’t believe me, whatever we had it’s over”.
Cas nods understandingly and reaches out to hug you, your face covering his chest with tears.
“(Y/N) maybe it’s for the best... Crowley is...” he begins but you interrupt him, separating from his grip.
“No you don’t understand. He’s changed. I know it seems impossible but he has. And he truly believed he could be friends with us, I know it, I know him. Castiel I...” your voice breaks.
“(Y/N)” he intertwines his hand with yours “I know”.
He holds you again, and you cry and cry for hours in that same position with him until you fall asleep. Castiel lifts you up and leaves you laying across your bed, he takes your shoes off and puts a few blankets on top of you.
When he comes down everything is quiet, the Winchesters have surely gone to sleep, or at least get some rest after the day they’ve had.
The following morning you don’t come out of your room, not for breakfast, dinner, research, anything.
“What’s up with (Y/N)?” Deans asks, looking towards your room.
“She...” Castiel tries to explain “Wasn’t feeling very well. I’ll go check on her”.
The brothers look at each other and nod at Castiel’s offer.
“Hey, could you please bring her something to eat?” Sam asks politely.
“Yes. Of course” Cas answers.
When he enters your room, he notices you haven’t changed your clothes, and you’re in the same position he left you last night.
“(Y/N)?” he says, leaving a tray of food on your desk “How are you feeling?”
“Not hungry” you say without facing him, smelling the hot breakfast he just left a couple of feet away from you.
“Well... you need to eat. You’re human” he reminds you.
“So? Not hungry” you repeat. He sits beside you and slightly caresses your hair.
“Okay then, we’ll be downstairs if you need us... or just, you know, pray for me” he tells you before getting up and prepare to leave your room until you jump all of a sudden.
“Wait! Castiel!” you say, startling him.
“What? Whats is it?”
“Please... don’t tell Dean what this is about... he’ll just... he wouldn’t understand” you beg him. Cas nods his head in agreement.
“Of course”.
When Cas comes down, both Winchesters are looking at him, raising his hands as asking what is going on.
“It’s... like I said, she’s not feeling very well” he tells them when he’s at the table with both.
“Well what does she have?” Deans asks demandingly.
“I... she wouldn’t say” Cas lies, which gains him a weird look from Dean.
“Ok that’s it, I’m going up” declares Dean and Cas gets up sharply.
“Dean! No! She said she didn’t wanna be bothered” Castiel exclaims worried.
The weird look on Dean remains until he rolls his eyes, says “fine” and heads for the kitchen instead.
Sam has stayed silent the whole time until Dean leaves.
“Cas” Sams calls him in a low voice “Is this about Crowley?”
 Castiel sighs and nods.
“Guess she’ll just have to pull through with this one” Sam follows Castiel’s sigh.
You don’t go out of your room for two days in a row, sadness consuming you. The third day you decide you’ve had enough and come downstairs to help the boys with research, no one says a word but Dean.
“Hiya there kiddo, had us worried sick but Cas said you didn’t wanna be bothered, everything okay?” Dean tells you, making you smile softly.
“Yeah, yeah. Just you know, some headaches, it felt like I was hungover the whole day, guess that tension from the last adventure really took a hit on me” you lie marvelously.
“Yeah. But you’re back, we are back, and that’s what matters” Dean tells you and you smile nodding, containing your tears again, you know you are not fully back.
It’s been a couple of weeks and Crowley won’t answer any of your calls, hence you stop calling him.
You miss him, you miss his voice and spending time with him. The boys notice even if you’re back up enlisting on hunts and helping them, something’s definitely off with you. You don’t eat enough, you practically don’t sleep, you barely smile or laugh anymore, and you seem distracted half of the time. It hurts Castiel more than anyone seeing you like this, so he decides to break his vow and talk to Dean.
“You have to call Crowley” he tells Dean when he and Sam are alone in the bunker whilst you are in your room “You have to tell him it was your idea to give the blade to me, you can even mention Sam but not (Y/N)”.
“And why would I do that?” Dean asks confused and a bit angry.
“Look around you Dean” Sam tells him “Something’s off with (Y/N) since that day, it’s not even 9pm and she’s already locked in her room, she didn’t even eat when we got back”.
Dean looks at both of them and grunts.
“How are you so sure this is about Crowley?”
“Because she told me” Castiel confesses “Now, call him”.
Dean looks impassive at Cas and Sam but takes his phone out and dials Crowley’s number.
First call goes to voice mail.
“Well that’s it, I’m not calling that dickbag again” he declares and Cas catches his arm, grabbing and stopping him from putting away his cellphone.
“Try again” Castiel threatens. Dean rolls his eyes but agrees.
“Squirrel, long time no see” Crowley finally answers “How are you?”
“Listen you son of a bitch” Dean begins “I don’t know what you did or told (Y/N) but...”
“Oh I didn’t tell, much less do, anything to her”.
It hasn’t been easier for Crowley. He’s got the advantage he doesn’t eat nor sleep, but distraction has definitely been present. Every time his mother or his minions call him he’s just thinking of you, about answering your calls, about calling back. He misses you, your voice, your laugh.
“Well she hasn’t been okay and the only thing I know is it has to do with you” Dean tells him “She hasn’t anything to do with the fact that I didn’t handle you the blade, that’s on me, Sam and perhaps Cas, but not her. She knew nothing, you hear me? Nothing. ‘Cause see here’s the thing, we didn’t tell her ‘cause I knew you two got along and if I had told her she would have put up a fight and claim it was unfair. Now she won’t sleep, nor eat enough, she’s distracted on hunts and that almost got her killed a couple of times already, so you either fix it or I’ll come down there looking to kill you Crowley I swear”.
With this last phrase he hangs up and throws his phone away, without expecting Crowley to answer, this is non-negotiable.
The King of Hell’s stomach suddenly fills with hope and excitement, it’s not the fact that Dean called him about what happened, no, it’s just that he did not know you cared that much for him, he’d figured after a while you would stop calling and move on.
You wake up in the middle of the night and... what time is it exactly? Phone says 3am. Great. You sit slowly, yawning, still sleepy, and turn on your bedside lamp.
Suddenly you see Crowley standing in front of you and you almost scream whilst reaching for your gun.
“Crowley! For the love of... what the actual hell are you doing in my room?!” you hiss at him, exasperated, tossing the gun aside.
“Well hello to you too, love” he exclaims sarcastically.
“Answer the question, what are you doing here?” you ask again, tired and afraid this is just some sick joke.
“I was bored. Thought I’d pay you a visit” he says walking, or more like snooping, around your room.
“And you needed to do that at 3 in the morning? When I’m sleeping? And when you haven’t returned my calls in weeks?” you reclaim but he stays silent, still going through some of the stuff placed at your desk.
You exhale sharply.
“Whatever, I need to pee, do not touch anything, you understand me?”
“Yes, yes. Understood, Pet. I’ll be right here”.
You get up from your bed and walk barefoot towards the restroom. When you’re sit in the toilet, your mind begins wondering what truly brings the King of Hell to your room. Perhaps he’s aware that you miss him. Perhaps he misses you too. Or maybe it’s a dream. Maybe he is telling the truth and was just bored of all the meetings.
You get back to your room to find Crowley laying across your bed.
“Everything alright, Pet? Was beginning to wonder what took you so long” he tells you. Deep, dark stare into your eyes.
“Yeah” you say, approaching the edge of the bed, staring back at him “I do everything slower at this time. Now, scoot over”.
He slides a few inches to the side of the bed, letting you lay down next to him. You turn a few degrees facing him, while Crowley keeps looking at the ceiling, but paying attention to every and each one of your moves, that is until you place your arm across his chest and your hand begins mindlessly caressing the thin fabric from his suite shirt, while you breathe in his scent, the sulphur, the ash, the expensive scotch and fresh cologne.
“(Y/N)?” he begins carefully, voice low “What are you doing?“
“What does it look like I’m doing?”
“Yes, beg your pardon, why are you doing it?” Crowley asks but cautiously places an arm around you and starts stroking your hair.
“I... I’ve missed you” you confess as you bury your face in his shoulder “Does... does this bother you?”
Your question puts a soft smile in his mouth while he turns to look at your half-hidden face.
“Not in the slightest, kitten” his declaration is greeted with a relieved and dreamy sigh from you “I’ve missed you too, you know?”
“You have?” you ask incredulously “I thought you didn’t care...”
“Of course I care. But here I thought you were the one who didn’t care...” that’s when your engines start rotating and it hits you.
“Did you speak to Castiel?” you interrogate him, fully facing him now.
“Castiel? No. I spoke to Dean though” he says guessing what happened. Knowing you, you wouldn’t have let Dean figure out what you were so upset about, Cas must’ve told him “He wanted some intel on someone, don’t know, don’t care, and it slipped the fact that you weren’t feeling so well”.
“What else did he say?” you ask him, going back to your task of running your fingers across his chest. In this moment, you couldn’t care less how he found out, he’s here, with you.
He inhales deeply.
“That you had nothing to do with the idea of lying to me...” he feels your body tense underneath him “Which, by the way, I figured a couple of hours after our little discussion”.
“Then why didn’t you say anything?” anger beginning to creep on you, body still stiff.
“Because I thought you didn’t care that much” he admits “I thought it was for the best. To be honest, I was unsure about what to even tell you after the tantrum I threw that day”.
He places a hand under your chin for you to look him in the eyes.
“I am sorry, (Y/N)” the King of Hell apologizes and you relax, hugging him a bit tighter.
“I love you” he’s taken aback by your declaration but after a few seconds he smiles gently.
“I love you too, Pet” with this sentence he brings your chin up and lowers his lips sweetly onto yours. He tastes like honey, citrus and scotch, and all you ever thought he’d taste like.
The kiss is so tender and so slow that you’re able to wander your hand towards his hair and then his cheek.
When the two of you break the kiss, you spend an exaggerated amount of time looking at each other, assimilating the reciprocated love. After a while you start talking about everything and nothing, just like old times, cuddling until you fall asleep, and Crowley, the King of Hell, has the honor to be the one to hold you in his arms.

My Weeb Hero - Leviathan (Obey Me!) One-Shot
Summary:
(After the events of Lesson 16)
After having a nightmare of THAT traumatic experience you had recently on the Devildom, you decide to ask Levi for help to forget your nightmare, and with a beautiful gaming night both of you get closer.
*Just read it for the fluff and to see Levi being cute with MC lmao, I suck at doing interesting summaries*
Before We Start:
Hi! Welp, this is the first time I'm publishing a fanfic in my life (Only because it's Levi's birthday and I love him, and wanted to post something about him), so please don't be too harsh on me and I really hope you all enjoy it! Thanks to my beautiful friends that were my beta-readers and also proofread my story (love ya girls!)
I wrote some MC interest and personality basing it on me to make it more realistic, so if you don't like one of the interest I wrote, change it to your own! I also have the same idea written but instead of Levi, with Satan, maybe if you like this one I will publish it, english it's not my first language so sorry if I have some mistakes, and well I think that's all, hope you like it!
My Weeb Hero
— I hate humans, you see. I hate them more than anything in the three worlds— while Belphegor talked all I could feel was the pressure of his cow like tail around my neck, pressing it harder by the minute. I tried to breath, but with every second that passed it became harder. I tried to focus my energy on pushing him away or taking his tail off me, but it was hopeless. My body felt heavier and I didn't have the strength to do anything; there was no way to scape, to save myself.
—...Why is it so much fun that I can barley stand it?! I... I can't contain the laughter! AHAHAHAHAHA!— his eyes that once where sweet and beautiful, that showed sadness and frustration, no, not frustration, but desperation because of being captive, now were shining, almost seemed as they where glowing in the darkness of the room, glowing with passion and satisfaction by my growing pain. They're all I could see with that smile that scared every last bit of me, and that laugh that echoed in my mind, suffocating me even more.
My eyelids became heavier and everything faded into darkness, but I could still see those glowing eyes and creepy smile with his laugh loudly resonating in my head...
Without breath I woke up from my dream turned into nightmare, completely startled by the memory. My body was shaking and my breathing was fast, desperate to get a grasp of air I frantically needed and still felt like missing. With a hand in my heart I closed my eyes to find it beating at an awfully fast speed. I laid back on my bed slowly and tried to focus on my breathing to calm down, without noticing I placed my hand on my face and started laughing, just to start crying the second after. I decided to go to the bathroom to wash my face and get some water... again those nightmares... great.
When I went back to my room I decided to check the hour on my phone... 2:45 am... perfect. I opened the chat on my D.D.D and scrolled down a bit. I'm sure he will be awake, it's not that late and he probably is playing some video-games, binge-watching some anime or rewatching the TSL movies again.
"Leviachan Otaku Lord"
MC: Hey! You up?
Levi: Yup, u ok?
Levi: Thought I heard some noise...
Levi: It's not as if I'm worried or something! Just wondering out of pure curiosity... It would be really unfair if you were with some of my brothers doing a sleepover like the other day -_-'
MC: Hahaha... it's nothing like that, just needed someone to talk to and thought you would be up watching smth or playing some games.
MC: Sorry to bother you since I know you don't like to be disturbed.
Levi: Hmph it's no bother if I'm answering you (-////-)
Levi: I was just watching a show, but it's really not that interesting.
Levi: Did you have a nightmare again?
MC: Yeah... the noise you heard probably was when I went to the kitchen to get something to drink ://
Levi: Do-do you want to come over? If you don't want to it's okay. Maybe is better if we only talk by chat, but it's not everyday that I give someone the opportunity to come into my biggest comfort place, to my beloved "cave" as my brothers would say.
MC: Hahahaha
MC: Okay, okay, if you want it that bad I will go.
MC: As you said it's not everyday that I get invited to your awesome cave lmao
After that, Levi didn't answer again. Gladly, his room was near mine so I didn't have to walk around the House of Lamentation making more noise and risking waking everyone up. When I got there I knocked on his door three times. After a minute or so, the door opened slowly.
—Come in.— Levi almost whispered hiding behind the door. Even though his face was serious, you could see a faint blush on his cheeks. He still wasn't used to people entering his room without coming to drag him out, play video games or watch animes or some movie, ask him a favor or look through his things, so this was still weird for the introverted demon.
Also, he knew how much I liked his room with the ocean theme and felt relaxed by it, so if that would help me get over the scare of the nightmare he would endure it.
—Thanks...— I said softly while sitting on his bed. He took some consoles from his desk and took some games before sitting with me.
—No worries!— he said while hurriedly giving me a console and the games to automatically look to the other side of the room— C-choose a game, we will play some... I thought you would like these ones... — he mumbled still facing the opposite side of the room but more relaxed.
—How about this one?— I took the same old loved Mariokart and showed it to him.
—If that's what you want... it's really a good choice since it's a classic that never disappoints to bring a great time. But don't think I will let you win that easily! Hmph! — he took the game and put the disc's in both consoles.
—It's really cool how you have two Nintendos and copies of the games to play with more people!— I said while preparing my game.
—As an otaku I need the limited edition consoles, and this Ruri-chan theme Nintendo had to be mine even though I already had that one, and the copies are pretty new, since I thought it would be best to lend yo... you know what? Never mind.
Even if he doesn't want to show it he can be really cute when he cares for others, I can't help but smile while thinking that.
—Are you ready to start?— he asks looking directly at me.
—Huh? Oh! Yes...— while concentrating on the loading screen I add— I won't take it easy with you too, I'm not willing to lose!
—Ha! Let's see if you can win to a pro like me, normie— he says surprisingly confidently with a smirk on his face.
After five rounds with two wins and three loses...
—Fuzz buckets! You ARE good at this...— I admit in defeat.
—Told ya, still... you keep up a good match...—he admits shyly— and did you just said "fuzz buckets"?? Really?
—Sorry not sorry! I just love Wizards and got used to saying it thanks to Douxie. Can't help it so don't blame me — I giggled.
—Hmm... I'm in no position to blame though, but why him??
—Because I love him and he is my fave. I don't question you when you say quotes from Henry, do I?
—No... you don't...— he fakes resentment and pouts, simply cute.
Without really thinking who I'm with, I lean on his shoulder. I can feel him getting a bit stiff but he doesn't move away and I take it as an offer to stay there.
—Hey... do you... do you want to talk about what happened? About your nightmare?— he asks a bit embarrassed.
—Just the usual... the demon from that time trying to attack me, but none of you is around to save me... and I can't scape because I'm cornered and I'm not strong enough to run or defend myself...— even though I wanted to tell him about the nightmare, I couldn't bring myself to tell any of them that their own brother is the demon in question, not even to Levi with whom I'm closer to. So I just used the story about that time on RAD when a demon of a lower rank tried to attack me while I walked to my next class. At that moment I was alone because none of the brothers took that class with me, but gladly before something happened, Lucifer, who was passing by, saved me and took care of him. Since then, at least one of the brothers would take the same classes as me, so I'm not alone anymore.
—I swear I will protect you... I might be a filthy otaku, an useless shut-in, but I'm strong enough to protect you. I won't let others hurt you... even on your dreams... so make sure to call me in situations like this. I can be your hero, like the ones on manga, and... I w-want to be your hero!— with a a blush creeping up on his cheeks and the tip of his ears, he declared this with such passion showing he was serious, but in a soft way that shows the regret of not being there at the moment the incident happened.
—Thank you Levi— I reply softly— can I stay here for a bit more?— I ask while closing my eyes and grabbing his left arm close to me. Another shiver comes from him because of that, but again he doesn't complain. I can feel his eyes staring and I'm mostly sure he is even more red than before. With a little movement of his head, guessing he is nodding, and a "hmmh" I finally fall asleep feeling safe.
I didn't have any more nightmares that night.

Island Dreams - Chapter 17
Chapter 17 for you all.
It's finally moving in day and they have some fun and their relationships takes another step forward.
Rowan gets into an accident and he finds himself married :)
I hope you will enjoy this.
------------
Moving day had arrived and gone. Aelin had been sad about leaving her house but the idea of living with Rowan was far more exciting. In the end they did manage to move everything on the Saturday. After Lysandra had gone back to London, Aelin had asked her to ship all of her boxes there and that felt like the final step. She was definitely not going back. This was it. This was her new life. Hopefully with Rowan in it. Moving boxed had been exhausting and now it was Sunday and she was staring at the mess that was her bedroom and was trying to decide where to start to tackle the indecent amount of boxes.
Luckily Rowan had solved the book problem for her. Her thirty five boxes of books had joined his extra book storage in the attic. He had joked that he might eventually turn the place in a library and Aelin had responded telling him that it was a brilliant idea. She was busy unpacking her clothes when Rowan’s head popped in her room announcing that lunch was ready. “You are wonderful.” She joined him in the kitchen isle and was ready to tuck in in another one of his wonderful meals. “Did your aunt teach you to cook?” “She did.” He answered without elaborating any further. He had briefly mentioned once that he had lost his parents but never expanded on the subject and she was not going to press him on a topic that was clearly going to cause him pain. She ate the food with a happy face and Rowan thought he would be happy to cook for her forever just to watch the smile of satisfaction painted on her face. After they polished their meal, Aelin offered to help clean. It seemed only fair. Once done she went back to her room and deal with the boxes that were still staring at her. All of her clothes were spread on the bed and she was trying to divide them into categories. At the bottom of a box she had also found a couple of her old scrubs and nostalgia had hit her hard. One box was full of knick knacks and she pushed it aside. Definitely low priority. One last box had pictures frames to be hanged on the walls. Most of them were of her and Lysandra but at the bottom she had found one of her and Chaol that had survived the purge. She threw the thing on the bed and went back to her mission: organise her wardrobe. A few hours later she was half way through her boxes and she had not noticed Rowan leaning against the door staring at her with a half smile. Aelin was sitting on the floor and seemed defeated. “Unpacking not going well?” “I hate it. I never realised how much stuff I had. When I packed everything I had Aedion and Lysandra and all we did was just dump stuff in boxes. They were trying to get me out of that house as soon as possible. Rowan sat on the edge of the bed. His eyes caught the photo abandoned on it. He took it “Is this him?” “We took that the night we got engaged. I have scrubs on because he proposed at the hospital where we met. That photo survived the purge. It needs to be destroyed.” Rowan noticed the pain in her eyes. No matter how much she hated her ex husband, he could tell that whatever they had it had mattered to her and she was still hurting about it. He put the photo down and noticed a black dress. He leaned forward and grabbed it out of curiosity. “I bought for a charity event. Wore it once and never had the chance to use it again.” She explained when she saw him staring at it in curiosity. In reality Rowan was imagining her in that dress. All of a sudden he was glad he was sitting down. Aelin saw his stare and grabbed the dress from his hands, a wicked smile on her face “Stay there,” she told him, leaving him alone in the bedroom. When she came back ten minutes later Rowan noticed her and almost had a heart attack. She was stunning. The dress hugged her curves perfectly, it had a cut on one side exposing her leg up to the knee. It was sleeveless and the top of the corset reached just under her collarbone. She turned around and showed him the whole thing and Aelin noticed desire burning in his eyes. “What do you think?” He took a step to her and his hands were on her waist “That I don’t want you to wear this dress outside. I want this view all for myself.” His voice was rough and a bit breathless. Aelin laughed and kissed him and Rowan pushed her against the wardrobe and pinned her there. Her hands went to his butt and pushed him closer to her body. His hand sneaked through the cut of the dress and cupped her butt and gasped when he realised she was not wearing anything underneath. “You will be the death of me.” He breathed against her neck where he was depositing hot kisses making her shiver. “Against a wall is another one of my fantasies…” she whispered in his ear and she felt his hand move in between her legs. “Good.” He added locking his mouth on her “it’s another one of my special skills.” Rowan deepened the kiss, her mouth opening to him. Her tongue gently brushing against his. His fingers slipped between her legs and gently brushed her sensitive spot. Aelin moaned and arched her back against him. Then all of a sudden the magic broke as he pulled away from her, kissed her forehead and walked away. Aelin’s growl of frustration was loud “Whitethorn!” Aelin shouted following to the living room “You can’t.” She groaned, frustration now rising high. What was his problem? “You always do that, you tease me, you get me all hot and then you leave.” Rowan gave her a tight smile and took a step closer, his mouth to her ear “So that when I can finally have you it will be amazing.” “And very short.” She lashed back “Because I will be so horny that I will have an orgasm at your first touch and it will last seconds.” Her eyes now fixed on his. “Who said that we can’t have a second a third and why not a fourth time? I have stamina.” Aelin growled and ran back to her room and slammed the door quite hard. She groaned for another few minutes while she changed back in her comfortable clothes. “Damn he is infuriating.” She threw the dress in one of the drawers and lay down on the bed staring at the ceiling. She wanted him so badly that she was sure she was going to combust very soon. She took a deep breath and then got up again and finished to tidy up everything. An hour later the boxes were finally gone and she had finished decorating it with her stuff and the pictures and eventually it started to feel like her place. She looked at the place and smiled happily at the final job. She picked up the flattened boxes and left the room. Rowan was in the living room reading a book on the sofa and she ignored him as she passed behind him and headed outside to bin the boxes. When she came back Rowan was looking at her. “All done?” She stormed to her bedroom and slammed the door again. Later on when she was sitting on her bed reading, she heard a knock on the door and Rowan’s voice telling her that dinner was ready. She gave in and joined him in the kitchen not without giving him a cold stare. “I am sorry,” he said. She sighed “it’s okay.” He gave offered her a plate with some food “I didn’t mean to piss you off this much.” “I am not.” He scoffed “Yes, you are.” She slammed the fork on the table “Fine. I am. I am, because damn it but I want you, okay? It’s been driving me nuts.” She finally let out her frustration “And I get it, we have a promise and I will wait but this is new. Chaol never made me feel like this. None of the guys before him did. You do. You set my body on fire with just a touch and all I want is for you to slam me against a wall and fuck me so hard that I forget my name.” “I am really good at that…” he smirked and Aelin’s heart lightened. She could not be mad at him. Not when he smiled at her like that. “Someone has a high opinion of himself.” “I definitely can make you forget your name. To be honest, I am positive I can do that just with a kiss.” He kept eating never averting his gaze from her. “You can do that by just be beside me sometimes.” She admitted. That’s how mad about him she was. “Dinner is lovely, by the way. Thank you.” She finally conceded. He smiled at her warmly. And like that their little fight was over. “So, what do you do in the evening?” “Read mostly. As you can see I don’t have a tv.” “I have a laptop with Netflix.” Explained Aelin and he looked at her with confusion. “Netflix is a website where you can watch movies and series. I pay a small amount every month. They add loads of content very regularly.” She took a bite of the chocolate cake she was sure came from his aunt. “We can watch something together.” “I guess we can do that.” “Perfect.”
After dinner Aelin had offered to clean up the kitchen since he had cooked. Once she was done she joined him in the living room and brought her laptop with her. She sat beside him, a blanket on their legs and the pc on it. She snuggled close and started browsing Netflix. “We can watch Brooklyn nine nine. It’s one of my favourites. It’s a bunch of detectives in New York. It’s hilarious but has some great storylines as well.” “We can watch something new. You don’t have to rewatch it just for me.” Aelin turned to him “I rewatch it regularly. I love it so much.” “Okay.” He said kissing her head. Ten minutes later she noticed that Rowan was actually quite involved “I like her.” He said pointing at Detective Santiago. “She is awesome.” “Those two are ending up together. I bet on it.” He commented pointing at Santiago and Peralta and Aelin squeezed his hand. “I like the new captain.” Aelin looked at him but his stare was fixed on the screen and she loved his relaxed face. Her hand caressed his hair and his eyes closed at the contact. Then trailed down and traced his ear and finally placed a very brief kiss on his neck. “She is hot. Santiago I mean.” And Aelin laughed. They binged watched the first season that Aelin decided to call it a night. She was tired from all the moving. “We can continue tomorrow.” He nodded happily. “Good night, my heart.” She said kissing him.
Their home arrangements slowly set into a regular rhythm and Aelin adapted to his way of living. She still felt like a guest and she wanted to make sure she was not disrupting his life too much. He would cook and she would clean the kitchen. She would help him with chores around the house. In their free time Rowan took upon him the task of teaching her to cook. They began with something very simple. Aelin was a quick learner and she also managed to prepare lunch a couple of times without burning down the house.
One night he was in bed and sleep was evading her. She tossed a few times and then her arm extended to the empty side of her bed. She sighed. Since she and Rowan had gotten back from their little holiday she had missed his presence at her side at night. His arms around her and his warmth. She closed her eyes and tried to go back to sleep.. “Damn,” she groaned in frustration throwing the sheets at the bottom of the bed. She sat up and decided to get up. After pacing for a few minutes in her bedroom she walked out of the room and reached his. “Rowan?” “Are you okay?” He asked switching the light on and sitting up in his bed. His hair was tousled from sleep and she thought he looked sexy. “I can’t sleep.” She said not moving from her spot on the doorstep. She would not move until he gave her permission. “Come here.” He said patting the bed beside him. She smiled and joined him. He lay down again and she snuggled against him and smiled when she felt his arms wrap around her, one around her chest and the other lower around the waist. His head tucked in the crook of her neck. She turned to face him “Since our trip I miss not having you beside me at night.” “Do you now?” He huffed against her skin. Aelin nodded and squeezed closer. Gods it felt so good to be in his arms. Rowan sighed “Do you want to sleep with me?” Then he heard how his sentenced sounded like “I mean you can stay in my bed and sleep in here if you like it.” Aelin looked up at him and smiled “I’d love to.” A kiss on his nose “But I am leaving my stuff in my room. I can’t move my things again.” “It sounds like a plan.”
From that night Aelin had officially moved in his bedroom. She had finally started sleeping soundly again. They had added another milestone in their relationship.
It was of the weekly mornings when Rowan had gone to teach his swimming classes and she was in charge of the bookshop and she was loving it. Aelin looked at her watch for the billionth time in the past ten minutes. Rowan was late. He would always come back at the same time but that day he was late. Over an hour late now and panic began to settle in her. He hadn’t texted her and that was unusual as well. He had always texted even if he was going to be five minutes late to open the shop. Which he knew it was not going to be an issue since he had given her a set of keys a while ago. She paced and could not concentrate on anything. In the end she caved and phoned him. The phone rang a few times. She was about to hang up when he answered. “Rowan Whitethorn, were the fuck are you?” A woman’s voice replied at the other end and Aelin’s heart started racing. Why was another woman answering his phone? He would not cheat on her. “Hello?” Said the voice on the other side and Aelin woke up. “Yes, who are you? Where is Rowan?” “My name is Dr Jamieson. Are you a relative of Mr Whitethorn?” And she almost felt sick. She had done plenty of those phone calls to know that it was not a good sign. She sat down on the chair behind the counter and placed her free hand on her knee to stop it from shaking. “Mr Whitethorn has been admitted to the hospital following a car accident.” Aelin’s brain stopped working. She could not think and definitely she could not breath. “Is… he…” “We should discuss it here at the hospital. Are you a relative?” Aelin froze. She knew hospital policy and they were not allowed to disclose the situation of the patient to someone who was not family. And they weren’t and a roommate was not in the list of the people allowed. Fuck. Her brain was too shocked to think properly. “I am his wife.” Her mouth uttered and she froze “I am on my way there. Is he still in the A&E?” “He has been taken for a CT scan. When you arrive ask for me.” Aelin thanked the woman and took a deep breath and coerced her brain to start working again. Quickly she closed the shop and went back home to get her car. Within ten minutes she was at the hospital, dropped the car at the parking and ran as fast as she could to the A&E. At the reception she asked for Dr. Jamieson and to tell the woman that Mrs Whitethorn was here. She had to remember her act. Five minutes later the doctor arrived and shook her hand. “How is he? Can I see him? Is he out of the CT?” “Mrs Whitethorn, your husband will be back from the CT exam quite soon. He was involved in a frontal crash. The paramedics found him unconscious and his head took a hit. We believe it was from rebound from the seat belts. Very likely his head hit the window pretty hard, that’s why the CT scan. He has few bruises on his ribs and torso due to the seat belts. Nothing is broken but he will be sore for a while.” “Have you checked his abdomen for internal injuries? Are his legs fine?” Her A&E training kicked in and she went through all the possible injuries from such an accident. The woman in front of her looked at her with the type of look that Aelin used to give to family members that tried to tell her how to do her job. Aelin sighed “I am a cardio thoracic surgeon. I have worked in an A&E long enough and seen enough accidents…” “I had a feeling. You did not ask the usual questions family members ask.” The doctor gave her a faint smile “I guess he will be in his room by now. If the CT comes back clear you will be able to take him home tonight but he will need to be at rest for a while.” “Thank you.” The doctor accompanied her to his room and she stopped outside for a moment. She took a deep breath and finally opened the door of his room. A sigh of relief left her when she saw him awake. “Hey…” she ran to him and kissed him while tears ran down her cheeks. She had been terrified. He tried to hug her back but his body protested at the idea of him moving. “Don’t move. You bruised your chest and your ribs.” Then she looked at the cut on his head and noted that luckily was not deep enough to require stitches. Gently she kissed it “No stitches.” And she sat down on the bed beside him and took his hand in hers. Dr Jamieson entered the room while she was kissing his forehead. “Mrs Whitethorn, your husband’s CT is clear. He has a very mild concussion and might experience some headache. If…” “If he gets dizzy, has double vision, gets confused or struggles to stay awake bring him back to the A&E. I know the drill.” The woman smiled and nodded “I will have your discharge paper ready in an hour.” And she left and Rowan was staring at her with wide eyes. “I can explain,” she said knowing full well the reason of that stare “Hospital policy is that they can’t disclose information to non family members. So I had to lie. I couldn’t say I was your sister because well, it was not believable so… my only option was to say that I was your wife. I am sorry.” Rowan started laughing but he stopped when his ribs caused him pain “It’s fine, I think it’s cute.” “I think it’s the concussion speaking.” And she kissed him again “I was terrified.” She took a deep breath “although before that I was mad at you for being late and not telling me anything. Then I phoned you and a woman picked up. Until she told she was a doctor I thought you were cheating on me.” He leaned his forehead against hers “Never. I would never do such a horrible thing to you.” “We are going home soon, and once we do, you will have to listen to me.” He tried to reply but she put a finger on his lips “No. I don’t care. I am the doctor and you will do as I say. You will stay at home and rest. I will look after the bookshop. And this is not open for debate.” “Looks like I got myself a very stern wife.” He kissed her. “Jokes aside, how do you feel?” “A bit of a headache and very sore.” He leaned back on the pillow. “How did you get in an accident. You are such a careful driver.” He flinched “I left the school, at a roundabout an idiot with a van did not respect his turn and I drove straight into him. The car—” “Shh… we’ll deal with the car later.” An hour later the doctor came back with the discharge paper “I prescribed some painkillers. He will need rest. No work for at least three days.” “Thank you doctor.” And the woman left again. “Come, let’s get you back in your clothes.” Rowan pushed his legs off the bed and Aelin helped him remove his hospital gown. Of course he was naked under it and she almost gasped at his bare body. “Dear wife, never seen your husband naked?” He joked and she tried to keep her eyes up. As a doctor she had seen naked men plenty of times, but seeing him was different. “Ok, let’s try to put the t-shirt on. This may hurt.” And it did. Because of his bruises he was in pain and lifting his arms was not an easy task. “Slowly…” they finally managed and he decided to ignore the hoodie. It was not cold outside. Then she helped him with his underwear and trousers. He leaned against her and she tried to hide her massive blush when she caught a peek by mistake. Gods, the man was perfect. “How is your shoulder?” “It’s fine.” Aelin looked at him with the expression of a doctor who caught his patient lie. “Look.” He moved it in circles and she noticed that he was moving it easily and without discomfort. “If you are lying, your are dead, dear husband.” He kissed her “I love you, my dear wife.” Before heading home Aelin stopped at the pharmacy and got the medicines the doctor had prescribed. Once at home, she pushed Rowan to the bedroom. He protested saying that it was day and he could stay on the sofa but he discovered very quickly that Aelin in doctor mode was a bit of a despot. “Just for today. Tomorrow we’ll organise the living room so you can camp there during the day but today I am home and you will stay in bed.” “Fine.” He yielded. She went to his drawer and got some clean bed clothes. “Not again.” “You are not coming to bed with that t-shirt. First, there is blood on it. Second it’s dirty and I changed the sheets this morning.” “You are so mean.” He complained. Aelin grabbed a tube “wait.” She told him when she noticed he was about to try and put the t-shirt back on “This gel will help reduce the bruises and reduce the inflammation.” She spread a bit of the gel on his chest with circular motions being very careful not to cause any more pain. Once she was done she helped him put the t-shirt back on “We’ll put a bit more tonight before bed.” “I have my very own sexy personal nurse.” She grinned in response “Yes, and you’d better listen to her.” She helped him to get into bed and then left the room and came back with a glass of water and some pills “Take these, they will help the headache and reduce the pain in general.” Rowan followed orders and she then sat happily beside him on the bed. “Do you want me to get you a book?” Rowan shook his head “I don’t feel too great to read just now.” She caressed his head and kissed his forehead “just sleep a bit, then.” “We can watch one of your shows.” She grinned. Rowan did not have a tv but she had Netflix on her laptop so she had introduced him to some of her favourite series. At the moment they were to season two of Brooklyn nine nine and Rowan seemed to love it. “I’ll be back.” When she did she had a bed tray and her laptop. She made sure Rowan was comfortable and not in a position that would cause him pain. Then she placed the tray on the bed and her laptop on it. She put her pyjama on and snuggled under the blankets with him and curled up to his chest, and her arm around his waist. “Are you okay?” “Perfect.” He kissed the top of her head. “Are we continuing with Brooklyn nine nine?” He nodded and she started Netflix. A few hours later Aelin woke up and noticed they had both fallen asleep. She closed her laptop and placed on the floor on her side of her bed. Rowan woke in that instant. “Shhh go back to sleep.” She soothed. He lay down again and she snuggled against him. Her hand went gently on his chest and brushed it gently. She had been terrified when she was told he had been in an accident. Until she saw him in his room awake she could not push away the terror in her heart. She felt his heart beat steadily and she finally relaxed and eventually fell asleep as well.

Soft music played in the dimly lit bar as Y/N sipped on her whiskey. The burn of it sliding down her throat started to make her feel numb. She doesn’t know why she agreed to this, why she keeps agreeing to this. After all, Bucky was the one to break things off, claiming the spark had just died between them. So why did she meet him every time he came calling when something was wrong? Even now as she was waiting for him, he was a half hour late. Finishing her third drink of the night, she motioned for another to the bartender before checking her messages. Nothing. Y/N knows she can’t keep doing this, but holding onto him is all that she can do until she finally learns the hands around her throat, the reason for all this torture, are her own.
Another hour passed and still with no sign of Bucky. She lets out a heavy sigh, admitting defeat before she asks for her check. The weight of her own self hatred drowning her along with the copious amount of drinks the night brought. Hatred for being so pathetic over someone who treated her so poorly. Quickly wiping at her eyes before anyone could notice, she grabbed her things to leave. She mumbled a quiet thanks before striding towards the door.
Y/N shrugged on her jacket before she stepped out in the chilly air. As she started walking home, she pulled out her phone to call her best friend. She seemed to always know what to say in these situations. After tapping on Wanda’s name, she lifted the phone to her ear as it rang. Once. Twice. Three times.
It wasn’t until the fourth ring that she answered, “He stood you up again didn’t he?” It amazed Y/N how Wanda always seemed to know what was happening. She gnawed on her lower lip as she tried to think of a response without showing her true emotions about the night. Sighing into the phone, Wanda spoke again, “You can’t keep doing this to yourself, Y/N. I might not be able to see you right now but your silence speaks louder than anything else.”
Y/N laughed bitterly before responding, “Sadly my brain knows that, I just need to get my heart on board as well.” She kicked a rock along the sidewalk as she slowly made her way home. “I don’t know why I constantly continue to do this. It just hurts, but I don’t know how to let go, yanno?” She paused from walking for a moment to take a deep breath, “I wish he had done something unforgivable that way it would be easier to cut him off. But he was so nice about it and I guess I keep hoping the spark will reignite. Instead he just keeps hurting me and I keep letting him.”
Wanda’s heart broke for her friend but she didn’t know how else she could help. With encouraging words, she kept telling Y/N it would get better but it would just take time. Y/N agreed with a sigh before calling it a night and telling her friend goodbye.

Hours later after making it home and washing the dried tear stains off her cheeks, she had finally made it to the point of exhaustion. She slowly pushed herself off the couch and was getting ready to throw away the bottle of wine she consumed when there was a rush of knocks at her door. She stared at her door for a few moments as if unsure if someone was actually at her door or if it was her imagination. Another burst of knocks at her door brought her back to her senses as she made her way over.
She opened the door, wine bottle still in hand, to see Bucky leaning against her door frame. “Doll, I’m sorry but I can explain.” Y/N rolled her eyes and if she could without making a huge mess, she would have thrown the wine bottle at him. Instead she just opened the door wider and gestured for him to come in. He pushed himself off the door frame and hesitated before striding through the door.
She closed the door behind him before harshly speaking, “You better make it quick because I’m done wasting my time on you Barnes.” He flinched at the sound of his last name, knowing that she only used it when she was livid.
He sat on the chair next to her couch and gestured for her to take a seat. She begrudgingly did as she was asked but sat on the opposite end so he couldn’t reach out to touch her. The unspoken tension between them was suffocating, neither one wanting to break the silence.
Bucky finally gave in after a few minutes, gulping down a breath before stuttering out, “It was real shitty of me to leave you hanging at the bar. I ran into this girl from SHIELD and we got to talking and I just lost a track of time. I’m really sorry, I honestly didn’t mean to leave you waiting.”
Y/N laughed bitterly while crossing her arms over her chest, something she always did when upset as if it would protect her from falling apart in the moment. Bucky knew the nervous tick very well. He’d seen a lot of it towards the end of their relationship.
“You can release the death grip. I promise you’ll stay in one piece,” he jokingly spoke, trying to lighten the mood. Instead, she seemed to go stiff and crossed her arms tighter.
He’d hit a nerve and before he could apologize she replied softly, “I wish you didn’t know me so damn well.” Her eyes seemed to look at everywhere but him.
Everything in him was screaming to reach out for her but he couldn’t seem to move his body. All he could do was look at her and wish that she could read his mind. “Y/N, I really am sorry. Please don’t let this one mistake ruin our friendship.”
She jerked her head in his direction at that comment, staring at him with a coldness he’d never felt from her before. “We’re not friends Bucky, we’re exes who can’t seem to let go of each other,” she hissed between her teeth. She felt her blood boiling, feeling the frustration of the night build up. “You didn’t want to be with me anymore and I was too stupid to walk away. But I don’t want to be your friend that you turn to anymore. I can’t do it anymore,” the hot tears were slowly streaming down her face now as she let all the pent up anger off her chest.
Bucky frowned and moved to sit next to her on the couch, his only goal to comfort her. However, she jumped up before he could and pulled away. “You always keep me at arms length, you won’t pull me close, which is fine now that we’re not together, but you can’t let go either.”
He could feel his insides twisting, afraid of what would come out of her mouth next. “What are you saying, Y/N?” he stammered out.
She looked at him with a heavy sadness, knowing what she had to do. “I’m saying that I’m done Bucky. I’m letting you go so that we can both move on.”
He quickly jumped out of his seat and rushed towards her. He grabbed her hands while desperately trying to change her mind, “You can’t do that. We work in the same building and we have the same friends. You can’t just not talk to me. And despite all that, you’re one of my best friends. Who am I supposed to go to when I’m having trouble?”
Looking down she shook her head as the tears kept coming, “I’m sorry, but I can’t be that for you anymore. I have to do what’s best for me at this point. I wish I never met you, cause now I gotta forget what life is like without you again” She slowly pulled her hands out of his and took a step back. “I think you should go. . . please.”
Bucky could feel his own tears fighting to make their way to the surface. “Can I at least hug you, one last time?” he choked out.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea,” she responded before gnawing on her lip. She knew she’d fall apart if she was in his arms.
“Please?” he asked with desperation in his voice as he tried to keep the sobs at bay.
Y/N seemed to really look at him for the first time since he had arrived that night, having an internal fight over the situation. She let out a huff before lightly nodding. Bucky took a step closer and enveloped her into his arms, clinging onto her as if she was his lifeline. They both knew this was goodbye.
Tumblr media
It had been a month or so since she had decided to cut Bucky out from her life. She wouldn’t lie and say it had been easy. In fact, it was really hard. She found herself constantly wanting to send him a text when she saw a funny meme or to call him whenever she had a bad day. But, she did feel more free, as if she wasn’t holding onto him desperately. She knew it would take time but it was time she was willing to take the time she needed.
Y/N had really thrown herself into work and into her platonic relationships. She knew she’d been a crappy friend to Wanda and Natasha in the past months but was working on making it up to them. The start was having weekly girls night on Thursdays. It was her turn to host and she rushed around to finish getting ready when she heard a knock at the door.
Confused, she made her way over. It was at least a few hours before the girls were supposed to show up. She was floored by who was on the other side. The time hadn’t been kind to Bucky. His hair was disheveled, the bags under his eyes reached a new level of dark, and he looked like he hadn’t slept in weeks. She hadn’t seen him in this state since she first met him.
“Buck, what are you doing here?” she whispered out. Part of her wanted to pull him in and hold him tight but the other part of her was terrified that everything she had worked on would crumble if she did.
He let out the best smile he could muster that didn’t quite reach his eyes, “I’m sorry. I know you don’t want to see me but I had to see you. I felt like I was going crazy.” He hesitated before looking back up at her, “Can I come in?”
She lightly nodded and stood to the side while he made his way inside. The deja vu of it all hit them both in full force. “I was just about to make some tea. Would you like some?” He nodded hoping the time it would take for her to make it would help calm his nerves and figure out exactly what to say. She came back a few minutes later and motioned for him to sit on the couch before handing him his mug. He smiled softly noticing it was his favorite mug of hers that he used whenever he came over. He rubbed his thumb over the chipped paint getting lost in the memories. Y/N slowly sat by him with her own mug in hand, tucking her feet under herself. “Are you ok Bucky? You don’t look so good,” she asked, the worry evident in her voice.
He turned his head towards her before laying it back on the couch. He watched her for a few moments before finally answering, “I just miss you so much and I know I don’t have the right to, but I feel like a piece of me is missing. I just feel scared now that you’re not here.” He looked down, playing with the tea bag as he dunked it further into the water.
She felt her chest tighten at his words. If he’d said this to her a month or so ago, she would have dropped everything for him. She so desperately wanted to be there for him but she knew she wasn’t at the place where she could support him and take care of herself yet. In a moment of weakness, she took his hand in hers and squeezed it. “I’m so sorry you feel this way and I wish I could make it better, I truly do.” He flinched knowing there was a but coming. She took a deep breath and exhaled before continuing, “But I can’t open up my heart to you again. It’s still trying to heal from the first time you shattered it. And that’s my fault because I let you keep doing it which shattered it more.”
He squeezed her hand in an attempt to keep her close. Bucky still couldn’t bring himself to look at her as he mumbled out the next words, “I fucked up and I should have never let you go. I realize that now and I want to give us another shot if you do.” He slowly dragged his hope filled eyes to meet hers as if trying to read her thoughts.
She gnawed on her lips and closed her eyes, trying to fight the tears back. Her actions spoke volumes to Bucky and he slowly let go of her hand. Moving to get up, the words rushed out of his mouth, “I shouldn’t have come here and dump this on you.”
Before he could run out, she jumped up, catching his arm, “Bucky, wait!” He turned to look at her, the pain clear on his face. “I want to be able to give you what you want, but it’s so hard. I’m not sure how to trust you with my heart now. If I had known there was a chance you could fall again, I would have told you to not let me know.”
He slowly moved his hand to cup her face and slowly pulled her closer, explaining “I’ve tried and I’ve failed to stop loving you for months now.” He drew her into his embrace and she slowly wrapped her arms around him. Neither of them are sure how long they were in that position, but both knew they didn’t want to let go.
Her phone started to ring and Y/N grumbled as she begrudgingly separated herself from him. She sighed as she read the messages letting her know the girls were on the way, wanting to stay in this moment. Still, she knew if her and Bucky were ever going to stand a chance in the future, changes would need to be made and she didn’t want to backtrack on all the work she had done.
Looking up at him, she gave Bucky a soft smile, “I really want nothing more than to stay in this bubble with you.” His smile grew at that before she kept going. “But it’s girls night and I’m hosting so we will have to resume this later. I won’t cancel on Natasha and Wanda.”
He nodded in understanding, “Maybe we could go for coffee or I could take you out for lunch tomorrow?”
Her smile grew into a grin that stretched across her face, “Only if it’s that bistro I love. I haven’t been in so long. It reminded me too much of you.” He let out a laugh before agreeing. Y/N bit her lip and looked down as she played with her fingers, the nerves setting in. “If we do this, there has to be a lot of changes. I refuse to lose myself again.”
He hooked his finger under her chin, bringing her gaze to meet his, “I’ll do whatever it takes to make you happy, I swear.” He placed a quick kiss on her forehead and she looked at him with such delight. Even though there was still a lot of work to be done, they both had a feeling of hope for the first time in a long time. And sometimes hope is all you can ask for.
