having a baby w mike and it being the baby’s first halloween :’) you mike and abby take lil dude to baby’s r us and spend HOURS trying to find smth perfect, mike and abby bicker over costumes bc “he’s my kid??” vs “i’m a kid and i know what kids like, and he’s MY nephew”, taking him trick or treating w abby and her staring down anyone w a mask or smth scary like “>:( don’t scare him he’s little”, mike being a Dad and wanting to take pics/vids of everything

oh my god clementine this is so sweet i actually had to silently squeal for a second !!

it’s like there’s a general buzz in the house for all of october. each of you thoroughly excited for the first real holiday in baby schmidt’s life, apart from the fourth where he’d worn an american flag swimsuit at your parents cookout. he seems to be excited too, constantly flashing his newly grown teeth even when no one’s looking. 

the outside of the house is brandished in cheesy decorations, little cobwebs and faux tombstones, abby’s hard work as she likes to remind you and mike every so often. it seems like she has just as big of a role in baby schmidt’s life as his parents, which eventually leads to the infamous babies r us argument. 

standing in the infant section again, it’s at least the fourth time the four of you have found yourselves here, the three times before ending in frustrated walks to the toy section (where mike put entirely too many toys in the buggy), a lunch break, and a feeding break for little schmidt. 

now, you’re determined to find a costume this time. the section isn’t that big so it really shouldn’t be as difficult as it is. but the two equally stubborn schmidt’s are the ones making it difficult, dual hardened eyes staring at each other. 

“he should go as mickey mouse, it’s cuter.” 

“and i’m telling you again, abby, that he’s going as a little astronaut.” 

they each hold their respective costumes in tight fists, and it’s really a funny sight to see; mike bent down to eye level with his little sister, face just a tiny bit red from the argument that really shouldn’t be as heated as it is. 

“every other kid is going to be an astronaut.” 

“and how do you know that?” 

“because dina’s little cousins are all astronauts. i’m a kid. i know what kids like, mike.” she spits his name with such a matter-of-fact attitude, that you start to see her point. 

but little schmidt is starting to get fussy in your harness and your back is really starting to hurt so you cut the argument short just when mike states, “yeah but hes my kid” and abby is starting to counter that he’s her nephew. 

you punctually grab the first costume that you see, the lion from wizards of oz, and throw it in the basket. 

“neither of you carried him and went through 17 hours of labor so i get to choose.” and they can’t argue with that logic. 

but to make the two grumpy ones feel better about losing, you all stop for ice cream on the way home. 

and weeks later, when halloween finally rolls around (because of course abby and mike were so excited for little schmidt’s first halloween that you’d gone costume shopping extremely early), they’re both on guard. 

abby’s trick or treating with a friend, you and mike left as guardians for the night, and as soon as dina rings the doorbell abby is giving her a lecture. 

“and he’s really little still so you can’t scare him, okay?” 

you and mike stand a few feet away in the hallway, coordinating outfits with baby schmidt who’s still down for the remainder of his nap. 

when it comes to trick or treating itself, mike has his camera out the entire time. he refuses to let you all leave the house without pictures. every few houses he has to take a picture of you and abby and dina walking back from the porch, or baby schmidt with his fist in his mouth. by the end of the night, he’s gone through two rolls of film, and there’s new family photos framed around the house by the time thanksgiving rolls around.

Is initially pretty lukewarm to the idea because he thinks he's too old to dress up for Halloween :(((

But with just the right amount of convincing + puppy dog eyes from you, he'll eventually go along with it

However, he's adamant that he's not going to shave. So you either have to give him a bearded character or resign yourself to seeing a mustachioed fairy

In the end, you think he makes quite a dashing Captain Hook (move over Jason Isaacs, there's a new captain in town)

If it's a party you're dressing up for, he'll go and have a great time (i.e. get absolutely sloshed and terrorize people with the fake hook)

Gaz

Is suuuuuuper into Halloween because it's his favorite holiday

He goes all out every year. Like, all out. Like, we're talking planning 6+ months in advance levels of obsession

In fact, you're not even the one who brings up the idea of doing a couples costume. He does, and he already has a theme in mind: Star Wars

He has a hyper-detailed Han Solo costume ready to go, complete with the blaster and boots and everything (yes, he made it himself, and yes, he's very proud of it)

You'll end up being 45 minutes late to the party because he won't stop taking pictures of you two posing in your outfits

Soap

Isn't opposed to the idea of dressing up, but there's a slight problem… He's already promised someone else that he'll match with them

You're like ??? when he tells you that, but end up chuckling once you learn who said person is: his four year old niece

He's the gallant knight to her glittery princess, and he's planning on taking his role very seriously

But he'll feel bad for leaving you hanging, so he'll run to the store and buy a pair of wings and a tail so you can tag along as a dragon or smth

You'll end up skipping the party so you can go trick-or-treating with them, and have much more fun that way anyway

Ghost

Is by far the least on board with the idea

He vehemently wants nothing to do with it – the party, the dressing up, nada

It'll take so much begging and bartering on your part to get him to finally cave in (the specifics of what you offer him, I'll leave up to your imagination ;))

No matter what costume you choose for him, he's gonna be snarky about it

"How the hell 'm I supposed to see with this bloody triangle on my head?" "It's a pyramid, Si." "Tha's what I said."

He'll stay at the party until he thinks you're satisfied with his attendance, and then he's Irish goodbye-ing it out of there without a second thought

If you're somehow able to convince the whole squad to dress up together, there's only one theme I see them doing: the Hundred Acre Woods

Price would be Kanga because there's no one else that accurately emits that fatherly motherly aura

Gaz would joke that he's going as Roo to accompany Price, but will change it last second and show up as Piglet

Soap would bounce on Tigger before anyone else could claim him (he's sooo Tigger-coded, I can't explain, he just is)

I know the trench coat was probably more for mr. hush himself, but i enjoy it. i'm also a filthy pouch lover so they do get points. also in red! cute. the boots are also neat. the negatives are that ugly robin dress/tunic thing. kinda silly. still it was good for giving bruce a spook.

the first time jason decided to wear a muzzle. hm.

6/10. there's nothing wrong with it. it's just a bit generically 'what would gun batman look like'. the face part is my favorite, with the weird grater muzzle, pointy ears, and red glowing eyes. it's fun

i need to get my first thought out. the little symbol on his chest reminds me of homestuck. i can't really unsee it. i know like theres no connection. but it looks like it could belong on a homestuck human

anyway. 3.5/10. he was willing to try something totally new, so i'm giving points. i enjoy the white. is the red hood goofy af? yes. yes it is. iconic, though? sometimes the upper black part is drawn lower, i've noticed. it doesn't change much for me.

i like the thigh highs going on here. the red guns are sexy!. he looks bad but there are good things here!!!

there is this version, which ditches the thigh highs, gives back the classic helmet, removes the cape for a jacket, and adds belts.

6/10 i think it fixes a lot about the prev costume, though it's really just like they threw utrh's costume and his previous batman&robin costume in the blender lmfao

i debated putting this, but it's different enough from the nu52 vers

#7 i almost hate that im putting it this low bc he bodied this. Very keisuke esp w the crosses on it and that hes biting the bandage stop 😭😭 anyways i love the platforms sm. I do see the overall style as very bajicoded but also i feel like it should be a darker blue?? Either way he looks handsome 8.5/10 -1.5 for color scheme

#8 the crop top sent me into another dimension. No further comments(lie). Love the color scheme sm it matches his eyes perfectly. Such a cutie and the DOLPHINS AHHH. I love his hair like this. I also noticed the gears which was also on shinichiros fit which PLOT AF love to see it. Simple yet elegant, effective. I would maybe say 8/10 bc it is a little basic but it works very well for captain outlaw and his overall style

#9 I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE TW SNOWFLAKES UGH. im sick. Color scheme is so good and the sandals are cute. HOWEVER. i cant w the pose. Whenever wakui does this in his arts it throws me off sm it just looks so dumb IM SORRY!!! Gives me pants down over buttcheeks walking at a 90° angle vibes and it looks ridiculous. I love chifuyu but 7.5/10 -2.5 for pose

#10 okay, do not get me wrong i like it but i think that there are many better oa’s of mikey. Im not a huge fan of the outer coat but i do love the inner part of the coat and how they contrast each other. This one is just not my favorite. I would say probably 6/10 for blandness

Also the pose and bandage placements. I WILL give bonus points bc i do like the dragons. I feel like its at least a little more creative than mikeys. Probably 5.5-6/10 bc i dont think this looks like draken’s style at all besides the dragons on it.

Word count: 1603 Summary: After weeks of not hearing from Shu, his partner grows worried that something may be wrong. But, upon finally getting a hold of him (by letting themself into his home), their expectations are flipped on their head as Shu hands them his gift. Warnings: it's implied Shu hasn't been eating properly </3 Notes: they/them pronouns, a singular use of (y/n), a hint of an angst as result of a misunderstanding, but with a happy, fluffy ending :>

Shu has been avoiding them for a while now. Them, his beloved muse, his significant other. The one he promised his loyalty and love to. Now, it was as if he’d forgotten of their existence. Worse, actually, he has been actively negating their existence by ignoring and avoiding them. And the people around them have noticed, and the people around them started whispering, and then they themselves noticed it, too. How could they not, hearing the other students pitying them so openly. “Did you hear?” they whispered, as if the object of their rumours wasn’t standing just a few steps in front of them. “It seems like Itsuki’s lost interest in them… They say it’s only a matter of time before they break up. If Itsuki doesn’t just ghost them!” Laughter. Venomous, hurtful laughter. Shu wouldn’t do that, they assured themself. He was… a lot of things, but he wasn’t the type to just ghost someone. They were sure he simply got engrossed in his work once more. They shook their head to free themself of the negative thoughts, deciding to visit Shu in the coming week. They’d bring him some food, check in on him. Hopefully, get the answer as to why he’s been avoiding them. It’s been long enough, and they’ve found themself sick of all the rumours that flew around them.

And so they stood, about three days later - three days of unanswered texts and missed calls later - by the front door of Shu's home. A bag hanging from the grove of their elbow, croissants fresh from that bakery they remembered Shu praising once in it, they knocked on the door. Only to receive no response. They shifted their weight from one foot to the other, gritting their teeth together. Truth be told, they were becoming quite frustrated with his behaviour. Nothing was wrong that they could tell, in fact, their relationship was only becoming stronger in the days preceding his disappearance. And then suddenly… he just goes radio-silent. They were worried, yes, but they wouldn't deny that they had feelings, too, and regardless of what Shu was going through, he was their boyfriend. Didn't they at least deserve an excuse? An explanation?

They’ve rung the bell twice by now. They called him once more - voicemail. They even called Mika at one point, who was about as helpful as Shu himself, only hanging up with sorries and, worst of all, telling them to just go home. That Shu was fine. But, being Shu's partner for as long as they were, they had a spare key. They didn't want to use it, knowing it was only given to them for emergencies, but for all they knew Shu was lying passed out on the floor and it might have been an emergency. They were worried, after all, even more so when that particular thought ran through their head.

"Shu! I've let myself in!" they said upon unlocking the door. Looking around, the home didn't seem to be in a disarray - that much. There was some settled dust on the shelves, and stale bread left out on the counter. No dishes in the sink. Either he was at least making sure he had something to eat off of, or he’s been neglecting to eat again. The dining room table was covered in papers, on which some seemingly unfinished sketches were hastily drawn. It looked like he was making something again, which made his partner breathe out in relief. Relief at knowing he was, after all, just engrossed in his work again. Relief that was soon replaced with an even stronger worry. They were thankful they came to check in on him, he was probably overworking himself if he hadn’t even the energy to answer their calls.

So, they went straight to his workroom. They knocked on it, still keeping their manners. “I know you’re in there, I can hear your machine,” they said upon getting no response. “Come on, it’s me! I’m giving you two minutes, and then I’m coming in.” “Non!” The first word they’ve heard from him in weeks. In what felt like years. His voice was hoarse, as if he hadn’t even spoken at all in those weeks. “Don’t come in yet! Give me ten- twenty more minutes and I’ll come out.” “Shu, I’m worried about you!” “Fifteen more minutes! Just wait in the-” a whispered curse, “... in the kitchen!”

And what else could they do? They’ve waited this much, fifteen more minutes won’t kill them. And if Shu collapses, well, they’ll at least hear it and be able to help. So, to pass the time faster, they tidied up the papers from the table, placing them all on one stack in the corner. And sneaking a peek at a few of them. It looked like a full outfit this time, quite the attractive one, too. They left the bag of croissants on the table, and proceeded to wait the remaining time. Soon enough, Shu stumbled out of the room, as if in a daze. The dark bags under his eyes told the entire story. “What date is it?” He asked. They took a glance at him, looking him over. His fingers were sloppily bandaged. “You’ve hurt yourself. Come on, I’ll properly bandage that for you.” He dodged their attempt at taking hold of his hand. “The date. What date is it, (y/n)?” Upon getting an answer (and a worried look from his partner who now knew just how badly he was out of it), he nodded. “Perfect. Perfect timing. Actually, scratch that. You were too early. Work on that.” He was rambling. “Work on what? Never mind. Sit down, when’s the last time you slept?” “Unimportant. Come with me.” “No. I’ve been so worried! At least eat first and-” “With me, now.”

He grabbed their wrist, pulling them over to the workroom. Truthfully, he wasn’t very strong, but they’ve decided to humour him just a little more. The sooner they comply, the sooner they can shove carbohydrates down his throat and forcefully tuck him in. “Fine, fine, stop pulling!” Immediately upon entering the workroom, he laid a bunch of cloth in their arms. A full outfit. Was this what he was working on? “Go put this on. I will turn around, rest assured.” “That’s not the problem… Surely, playing dress-up can wait until after you eat something?” “It’s not playing, darling, it’s a fitting. Go on. Call for me if you need my help.”

A few minutes later, they were both situated in the dimly lit workroom, standing in front of a wall-length mirror that, frankly, could have been cleaner. “Stand up straight,” Shu mumbled, patting down their waist and pulling on the cloth here and there to straighten it out. “Give me your hand.” He took hold of the sleeves, folding them inwards a few times, shaking his head, and unfolding them again. The sleeves were a perfect length. He walked a circle around them, his piercing gaze boring holes into every part and detail of their body. But it seemed like everything was just right, and not even he, ever the perfectionist, had any complaints. Once more, he stood behind them, this time kneeling to check the hems. Once more - “Perfect. Exactly as I envisioned it.” And he finally sighed out. 

Shu stood up, patting down their shoulders for one last time. He let his hands trail down their arms, and back up, before he gently took hold of their shoulders. And they caught his eyes in the mirror. He held their gaze. “I told you to stand up straight. You’re wearing the Itsuki Shu’s work. Wear it proudly.” They took a moment to properly take those words in. They were wearing an outfit made especially for them by Shu. They marvelled at their reflection for a moment. The outfit truly looked perfect, not to mention it was tailored exactly to their tastes. Shu must have been quite the listener, even if he acted uninterested so often, there was not a single detail that wasn’t precisely to their tastes. From the silhouette to the colours, nothing was less than perfect. And as they stood there in awe, Shu’s hands started travelling once more. Down their back, and around their waist, he wrapped them into a hug, one rather uncharacteristic. He must have truly been tired. He buried his face into the crook of their neck, as if hiding, before whispering into their skin, “I’m taking you out for dinner… Tomorrow. Make sure you wear this.” “Tomorrow? Did you make this for-” “Our anniversary, yes. I’m… not proud of the fact that I made you worry. I can assure you I will try my best that it doesn’t happen again. But I won’t apologise for wanting to keep your gift a surprise.” “Fine. Thank you.” They placed their hands on top of Shu’s, who was still keeping his wrapped around their waist. Well, right up until that moment. He retracted his hands the moment theirs touched him, as if he was burnt by the contact. “The… The clothes will get creased.” He came up with an excuse quickly, but the words did little to hide his reddening face. He coughed, stepping back and putting some distance between them. 

“You mentioned you brought food, is that right? I could eat… As long as you agree to keep me company.” “Of course. Come on, I bought your favourites.” “Thank you…” And though he merely mumbled it, too proud to say out loud, they heard it anyway: the smallest of apologies for having worried them.

- Erra came out looking the least like Philips brother, so Belos already put him aside since the moment he made him

- Belos wasn't the one to name him, it's not like he completely let him go without a name, he just asked somebody to think of a name for him. (Actually maybe the collector came up with that name, as a kind of joke that the boy was a curse for belos just like the plauge was a curse for people experiencing it)

- he came out with human ears, so just like belos did with his own, he had to change Erras ears

- he is the forgotten middle child /j, belos always ignored him, neglected him more than other golden guards, acted cold towards him and couldn't wait to replace him but as long as Erra did his job well Belos would keep him around, this led to the boy growing up way too quick (tbh I think most of the golden guards grew up way too quick).

- Belos would send him on the most dangerous missions or give him small hints about the truth because the emperor deemed Erra a failure before he could "prove" himself

- Erra saw Darius, very new at his job and a bit lost and decided to help him out and give him the guidance and attention he himself never got. They soon became like brothers

- he found out quite quickly he was a grimwalker but unlike Hunter he had the option of belos not finding that out. He gradually learned about belos and himself in secret, sneaking into rooms and looking at old journal notes

- Erra started ruining missions in secret, he made himself a mask and spoiled a lot of them, shot down emperor's ships, gave false information, he got a nickname "phantom owl" as he appeared, ruined missions and disappeared. Man was fast as fuck. He did that all by himself

- the one mission Erra failed to ruin was Darius's first mission. He did attack at first, not knowing it was Darius leading the mission, when he realized, he hesitated, he just couldn't bring himself to ruin it for his friend. That hesitation cost him a failure, he did have to run. (I kinda imagined it in a way that idk they are on a ship or Smth, Erra attacks and suddenly he and Darius are facing each other and Erra lowers his staff cause he just can't bring himself to hurt him and that gives an opening for the other soldiers to attack Erra, he falls off the ship and decides to retreat)

- Darius did eventually find out about that, he was the first one to learn that the phantom owl is actually Erra. he was in denial at first but has not spoken a word about it to anyone. That also ended up in him not speaking to Erra. And when he wanted to it was too late. He now regrets that a lot.

- in the end Belos did find out and killed the boy replacing him with Hunter, this is when Darius' trust for the emperor died fully.

- Erra would have made a great older brother to hunter if he did not die

- he stole some staff and altered it a little bit, he used one for his rebellion stuff and the other - not altered one - for work in the emperor's coven

- when Belos found out he didn't do a public execution. He quietly asked Erra to help him out with something. Erra already knew then that it's over for him. He didn't go without a fight though and held up a long while. Darius wasn't there. The next thing he knew was that he never saw Erra again, there was just Hunter in his place.

- the emperor has already learned to give an excuse for what is happening or people would get suspicious, he said that Erra died in an accident on a solo mission. They held a funeral. Darius already knew something was very wrong.

y'know, i get this feeling that the order of the clock tower arc is not going to be the next one as everyone says.

im pretty sure it's going to be the next one after the new one that has been introduced at the end of today's episode 'cause this one is going to be a small one.

i've got the idea that this arc rn is going to be the fight against akutagawa alongside with atsushi and the person with a naruto-like outfit whom i assume it's fukuchi.

not any fukuchi tho. i'm pretty sure this is young fukuchi (unless this mf has decided to shave his moustache) because if you paid attention you would notice that they share the same shape of hair, the same mask and clothes from the official art that came some days ago. Also it seems he is carrying amenogozen or whatever that stupid sword is called.

Now we know that amenogozen can go back in time or whatever. Anyway, fukuchi's abiliy is to intensificate the efficiency of something 100 times more or smth. So let's say that 0,10 sec = 10 sec.

here's why i think this is young fukuchi and not normal fukuchi: what would happen if there's an ability out there that can intensificate fukuchi's ability or amenogozen? what if we're introduced to a time-controlling ability ? what if one of those two abilitys manage to affect fukuchi and bro goes back some few years ago? i don't know it seems a little bit plausible to say the least.

back to the point, it seems that fukuchi, young or not, is going to fight with emo boi and tiger boi. So, if this man keeps bullshitting then that means that there's probably a second part to the decay of angels arc. This is probaly a mini arc bc we already got a massive one prior to this one, besides i think it's going to be just a fight between them, i don't think there's ging to be much plot besides that; maybe an introduction to the order of the clock tower as those three idiots fight eachother.

following the mini arc, i'm pretty sure we will be iwelcomed to the order of the clock tower arc. Since i'm sure that chuuya won't really be of much importance to the mini arc, he's definitely going to be of major importance in the order of the clock tower arc.

(i already made a post explaining why chuuya's going to have some sort of main characater role in the order of the clock tower arc but basically the order of the clock tower is in london, guess who's also in london? that's right, shirase and adam. Gues who are of major importance in stormbringer? that's right, shirase and adam. Guess who's the mc of stormbringer? that's right, it's chuuya. so there's no way of denying this man will play a major role in the order of the clock tower arc, he's been neglected by asagiri in the main manga for too long, let him have some spotlight)

either way, i myself don't know where tf this is going, but i think that this arc is going to be small, the order of the clock tower arc is going to be REALLY BIG bc the latter has been referencing itelf since the beggining of the manga, and im pretty sure that agatha christie is going to be the main villian of that arc. And i'm not sure if there's going to be another arc after the order of the clock tower one (let's hope yes).

I saw someone on Twitter say a while ago than Doyoung usually diets and works out more when he has important fashion gigs; like the MFW one next week, when he attends for D&G. I honestly left it as it is because I never noticed any major changes (I’m also rather new to the fandom),and Doyoung is already super small as it is. Doyoung has been underweight since debut for his frame. It's a new norm for him. Don't worry, people evolved to go through regular starvation periods. It's actually good for the body if done right. Scientists say our high energy/ultraprocessed food modern diet brought a plethora of illnesses and problems in development. It's not like he is losing 10-20 kilos in one go. And he is a foodie, shooting Mokchu will give him kg back quickly, there is no danger of bulimia with him.

It's Friday night. At the beginning of the day, you had thought that finally, finally you would find someone to at least spend a while with, to see where things would go. You didn't expect to spend the rest of your life with this particular person, or maybe to add them to your polycule if you had one - but you did expect to at least sit with them for a drink or two and see if things worked out.

The other thing you didn't expect was to get all dolled up in your best outfit only to be stood up. It was a shame, because the person had been pretty dashing, but if they stood you up like this then were they really someone that you would have wanted to know in the first place? Saying something beforehand would have been fine, you were okay with rescheduling, but they never sent anything. You doubted you would hear anything from them again, to be honest.

Since you were already at the bar, you decided to order something to sip on. You weren't planning on getting drunk, since you wanted to be sober enough to make it home safely (either through an Uber or something else), but it was mighty tempting. Maybe you could pick someone up for a small fling, if you were in the position to do so.

After a few sips of your low-alcohol drink, you heard someone clear their throat. You give the handsome man a once over, taking note of the embroidered emblem of the bar's symbol over his left breast. His polo shirt was neat and unwrinkled, though it seemed a little tight - hugging hidden muscles and leaving barely anything to be imagined. His pants were simple jeans, as most other worker's were - no holes, dark colors, with a belt to hold it up. His shirt was tucked in, and you stared for just a bit longer where the two fabrics met.

"Hey there," he says as he sits on the stool beside yours. He waves to the bartender who raises an eyebrow at him, but otherwise grabs a glass to fill it with sparkling water and some type of juice (you weren't really paying attention to anyone except for the stranger and your drink, really). After getting his sparkling water/juice drink, he turns back to you, brown eyes somehow sparkling under the dim lights of the bar. "Name's Yancy, how 'bout you?"

You give him your name and he hums as he glances you over, repeating your name as if trying to make sure he remembers it. Or you. You weren't quite sure, really. After a long sip of your drink, he meets your eyes again, resting one of his elbows on the bar in order to prop his head up.

"Noticed youse come in a while ago. It looked like youse was waitin' on someone, but they still haven't shown. It's a shame with how nice you look."

You face and ears heated up once you recognized what he said. You gently pushed your now-empty cup around on the bar, and Yancy made another motion for the bartender - this time for you instead of himself.

"I don't know much about you, but I get the feelin' that you're a pretty nice person. It's a shame that you got stood up, I know I'd never do that to someone like youse. It was nice meetin' you." A smile stretches across his face, and you feel your chest warm with affection for this man you knew next to nothing about.

"Hey, uhm - Yancy?" He turns to look at you after getting up, a rag in hand that he likely pulled from his back pocket. His angle had him going toward one of the walls where a mobile cleaning station sat. "I get the feeling that you're pretty nice, too. Would you, uh..." You feel your face heat up again, glancing toward your new drink as the stranger watched you curiously. "When do you get off of work?"

It seems to take a moment for your words to register for him, but when they do you can see his posture straighten as his teeth show through his smile. "About two hours. Boss' lettin' me go early tonight since I was doin' doubles for a while." At the look of nervousness that crossed your face, he chuckled. "If you wanna wait for me, doll, I'm not gonna stop you."

"You don't have to stop me," you say before the words can be processed in your head. You rub the back of your neck, trying to push the sudden nervousness you felt back down. "I'd be happy to wait for you. I'd like to get to know you more."

His eyes crinkled at the corners. "I'd like to get to know youse too, doll."

You watch as he turns to continue back to the cart, and then as he picks up a spray bottle to go and wipe down empty tables that already had their glasses picked up. Your heart beats a little faster at the thought of spending more time with him, though you don't mind the though.

When you came out tonight, you didn't quite expect to find someone you would want to spend a long time with. But you found it, and for once you were glad that you were stood up.
