Don’t get me wrong I actually love mermaid dresses and I think it actually looks good on this rendition of Sally…but I’m bored. I think this is the fifth or sixth mermaid dress we have from monster high skullector dolls now and while I do still think it looks good on Sally, I feel like it’s not her.
Now let me start by saying I’m a huge Nightmare Before Christmas fan so I was not happy when these dolls were teased because I had minimal faith (sorry mattel!) but I’m actually very very happy about these designs. Do I think they could be better? Yes and that’s what I’m going to talk about in this post.
First thing first. Mermaid dress. Nope. I actually wholeheartedly believe that the dress in the first image below is what inspired her Skullector dress (I also think that the figurine pulled it off better but I believe it’s because of the long skirt, I would personally not be a big fan if a collector doll had a long skirt that covered the shoes, especially for a brand like monster high who makes some of the most incredible shoes!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I believe all of these figures are official Disney figures, somebody please correct me if I’m wrong)
These bottom looks (specifically the last one) is what I really leaned into and would have preferred, I drew up a little sketch of a dress I think would have fit her better.
Tumblr media
I think her gown should have had a larger skirt, the whole reason that her original dress looks scrappy is because it’s literally made from scraps that she finds I think that they could have kept the scrap patter but given her more volume, the sleekness of her actual skullector dress seems like they’re trying to use minimal fabric which isn’t super fun for a collector doll. On the sides of her skirt I have her little fabric pieces that match Jack’s iconic pinstripe pattern and the tendril (?) bits he has on his skullector outfit, I think it’s a nice way to make them look cohesive instead of the orange and black striped thing they have going on.
I LOVE the mesh on the bottom of Sally’s skullector dress and in my reimagining of her that is still absolutely there but perhaps underneath the main skirt or even overtop where the spider web bit is at the waist.
The first thing I did when I saw this doll was zoom in and check for raw edges and I actually laughed when I didn’t see any. Mattel you have given us several skullector dolls with raw edges and the time that you actually make a rag doll character who has ripped and sewn fabrics YOU DONT GIVE HER RAW HEMS?? Don’t get me wrong I’m not complaining but it’s just hilarious to me because this is the one time they could really get away with it and I would just shrug and not be able to complain.
Last things I would change about these dolls are; give Jack a little top hat or something, I think it would add a dramatic flare which is what we should expect, it might not stay on his very round head and I would not want them to use a peg of any sort though (seriously doll companies, think about utilizing magnets.) The red on their shirt and hair seems so loud it’s almost glowing, it’s a bit weird to me but it could just be pictures and contrast. And lastly …WE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN ZERO 🥲 imagine how cute a little see through Zero (think like Rhuen) would be!!!!

OK EXTREMELY NICHE CROSSOVER but hear me out !! Stardew Valley Characters x TMA?
(oh yea spoilers for some Magnus Archives concepts/lore? but nothing plot-related)
the 12 Stardew Valley dateable characters as TMA Avatars:
Abigail: Could see either the Vast or the Stranger. The Vast because she adores exploring, asks existential questions, gets lost in things. The Stranger because of her character arc as an odd one out, someone who just doesn’t fit in with the rest of the town, unnatural, an outsider. Also because of her potential connection to the Wizard.
Alex: Likely the Flesh, as a sort of Jared Hopworth situation. He’s always talking about his bodybuilding, it’s pretty Flesh-aligned. I could also see him as the Hunt? His obsession with going pro, reaching his goal, something that never really happens but he’s always chasing. Maybe he begins to hear the blood?
Elliott: The Lonely. Relatively new to town, all isolated on that beach, I bet it gets quite foggy. Or potentially the Eye? I could see his fervor for writing as a thirst for knowledge, in a way?
Emily: The Spiral. Strange, bizarre, cryptic, a manic pixie dream girl (and i mean this with love), she’s gotta be the Spiral. I could also see the stranger, but she has a certain level of approachability that’s more Spiral to me.
Haley: This is tough for me. Maybe the Flesh, as someone concerned with their appearance, but that feels kinda surface-level to me. This is a stretch, but what about a Dark alignment? The way she sort of refuses to intake information sometimes (ignoring you), bores easily, she could be compensating for an insecurity by presenting a certain way? In the dark, she wouldn’t have to worry about any of it. Besides, she does have that Dark Room… (i admit this one doesn’t really fit, does anyone have a better idea? spider maybe? or even corruption?)
Harvey: The whole weight of the town’s expectation’s for their only doctor, his stagnant dreams of piloting, Harvey’s got to be affiliated with the Buried. Possiblyyy the Flesh, simply due to his profession, but the Buried makes far more sense for his character to me.
Leah: Hear me out on this one—the Extinction. She’s got a couple dialogue lines focusing on environmental destruction and humanity as a harmful species, she’s newly moved out of the city and into nature, radically replacing her environment. She’s so isolated in the forest, it might sometimes feel like she’s the only one left. If not, then the Vast, most likely. Or maybe Stranger or Lonely? She’s got options.
Maru: If anyone in this group is Eye-affiliated, it’s got to be Maru. She has this thirst for knowledge, always building, always looking up into the unknown of the cosmos.
Penny: She’s got to be the Lonely to me. How many times has she sat under that tree, picking at the grass and looking out into the river? She’s so isolated, despite being around so many people. If not the Lonely, then certainly the Corruption, with its themes of finally finding endless love and community, a hive who truly understands.
Sam: This is another tricky one to me, but probably the Vast? He’s so easy-going and carefree, for the most part, it fits in quite well with the Vast mentality of ultimate insignificance and the freedom that comes with it.
Sebastian: Although the Lonely is probably the easy answer, I could also see him as the Buried, honestly? Burdened by the weight of all the expectations pressing down on him, by his stagnation in a town he wants nothing to do with, by his lack of freedom and desire for escape. He has friends, close friends! It seems to be more of his general circumstances that haunt him, rather than isolation, necessarily.
Shane: While i know the Web is primarily associated with addiction, I don’t really feel that Shane fits with the Web in any other way? I honestly see him more as affiliated with the Desolation, given his often self-destructive tendencies, and the way he lashes out at others. Shane seems to resort to alcohol as a harmful coping mechanism. Of course, I could also see him as the End, given some of his cut scenes, but the qualities of the End don’t seem to match him as well as the Desolation.
Those are my takes!! Sorry I couldn’t narrow it down more, but there’re so many potentials, it’s hard to choose a single option for each person! These are superrrr subjective and up to interpretation, so I welcome any additional speculations or suggestions !! I kinda wanna know how other people would categorize these guys tbh? anyways yeah sorry about the long post, my brain is rotten. perchance.

Sneak Peek at Part Two:
The glitching was getting worse. By the time you made it to your lab on the other side of the building, it was happening every thirty seconds or so. You stumbled through the door and crashed into one of the computer consoles as you lost your balance. Every inch of your body ached and felt as fragile as glass. It seemed as if the chemical bonds that held your atoms together were about to shatter leading to you basically vaporizing down to the atomic level. Which you guessed was what was about to happen.  Another glitch hit causing you to crumple to the floor. Once your body realigned itself, you tried to climb back to your feet but you just didn’t have the strength to anymore. Instead, you rolled over to your stomach and began to drag yourself over to your desk. It wasn’t far, but by the time you reached it, you were barely able to lift yourself up to reach the hidden compartment underneath. You pressed your thumb to the biometric lock and gave a huge sigh of relief when the drawer popped open. Reaching inside, you pulled out the small cloth bag and held it against your chest. You knew you had to hurry before another glitch occurred, but you were so exhausted that your fingers were clumsy and fumbled as you tried to untie the bag. It took about three times as long as it should have, but you finally managed to open it up and you slid the contents into your hand.  It had been over a year since you had last held the red amulet in your hand but it instantly made you feel stronger. Running your thumb across the spider carved in the stone, you couldn’t help but smile. This little piece of your homeworld would hopefully ward off the glitches long enough to send your message.  Sliding back to the floor and laying on your side, you pressed the amulet to your lips as you closed your eyes and concentrated. Your eyes rolled back in your head behind your eyelids and you felt your mind slip into the space where the intricate web of dimensions existed. Once you sensed who you were looking for, you whispered, “Hobie, I know you can hear me. I need your help. Please. Come get me before it’s too late. I just want to help Miles. I promise. I–” A glitch cut you off and you dropped the amulet as your body was once again torn apart and reassembled by this dimension trying to arrange your atoms to fit its unique configuration. As your body somehow managed to right itself once more, a small sob of pain slipped from your lips. Whatever strength or stability you had gotten from the amulet was now gone, and you felt yourself returning to your body as you no longer had the strength to continue reaching out across the dimensions. It was all over. This lab that you had built with Miguel and spent countless hours lovingly by his side was going to be your final resting place.  You were about to die alone and abandoned.
About Reader's Spider:
Reader's Spider name is Spider-Gazer (nickname = Gaze). She comes from a dimension where there are no firm lines or edges and everything is slightly blurred instead. However, this slight blurring of lines has given her the power to gaze through the barriers of the Acracnoid Humanoid Poly Multiverse and communicate and see into other dimensions. When this happens, her eyes roll back into her head and become completely white. Yet if she is wearing her mask, the spider eyes which are usually white turn the same glowing orange as the paths between multiverses.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She also has an amulet that was passed down for generations in her family along with the legend of the one who would be gifted the power of the spider and use it to bring peace to this and every universe. When she holds it, it helps magnify and focus her powers (since it comes from her universe, it also does not have firm edges).

SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THE HAZBIN HOTEL FINALE
I've been thinking. Sir Pentious can't have been the only Sinner to die a good enough person doing a good enough thing in Hell for them to become an angel.
And I mean. Sinners, even when they become angels (as seen with Sir Pentious) have a very distinct style compared to angels. Angels seem to favour more eldritch or Care Bears lite designs. And that's probably because they aren't given the same amount of care as the Sinners, being largely background characters, but also it makes me wonder about Molly.
Because Molly also looks a lot like a Sinner. She's a spider instead of a cuter, cuddlier animal (which is also a choice meant to explicitly reflect her family's "web of crimes"). Her colours are bright and bold in contrast to the light pastels of other anthro angels. The fact that she's is Heaven based solely on her life considering what her family's business was is also crazy. And while the differences from her original design do make her fit in more with the rest of Heaven (namely being dressed a lot more modest and cute with a serious reduction of the bust, RIP Molly's boobs), in terms of backstory and design she should be a Sinner. The fact that she isn't puts Heaven's sorting system and just how Gosh Darn Good everyone is Heaven is into question.
So maybe Molly is a Sinner who died in Hell doing something altruistic but then went to Heaven? I mean, if I were a Sinner who somehow got to Heaven, which admittedly is still probably a rare occurrence, I certainly wouldn't try to rock the boat and it's not like either Heaven or Hell seem to keep track of these things. And as Sir Pentious proves, it seems like redeemed Sinners are just... dumped into Heaven rather than coming through the Gates and meeting St. Peter with his fancy list. Like, Molly could've just never mentioned that she used to be a Sinner, especially with how... proud Heaven's culture seems to be of just How Fucking Good they are and no one would know the difference. It would also explain why she seems totally okay with Angel Dust being in Hell if trying to advocate for him could potentially result in her getting discovered and kicked out of Heaven (though, the fact that the people in Heaven seemed okay with Hell existing even without knowledge of the Exterminations is another conversation).
Or maybe Molly just got thrown into Heaven as a background character because her role in Hell got cut. Who knows.

Spiders | Matt Murdock
Pairing: Matt Murdock x fem!reader
Summary: Matt finds a huge spider in the house and he refuses to kill it.
Warnings: arachnophobia, description of a spider’s sounds and body (the way I see them with my arachnophobia), fluff, not proofread, no beta, probably a lot of grammar mistakes my bad
a/n: my body is tingling. I hate this, but it’s also cute. Matt Murdock hates spiders and I stand by that. [the gif seemed fitting, but for both sides]
find my masterlist here!
Tumblr media
If there is one thing Matt Murdock hated with his whole heart it had to be spiders. He would never admit it though. His previous girlfriends had been deadly afraid of the small insects and so he had to step up and remove them whenever one came crawling in. He couldn’t kill a spider even though he wanted to because even that went against his moral code somehow.
He could hear their heartbeats and the almost inaudible sounds they made when throwing their webs around the corners of his apartment ceiling. He could hear their tiny steps as they walked around his furniture or over the walls. It was unsettling because even though he could hear them, he couldn’t find them. He couldn’t locate them. They were fast little bastards and mostly tiny at that.
He hated spiders with a passion that was unmatched to anything else he hated. They gave him the ick.
She didn’t have many fears either, but spiders were a big no-go. He could hear her heart jump whenever one appeared on the tv or her phone screen suddenly and she would cringe away, scratching at her skin until the disgusting tingling would disappear. Though whenever one happened to be in the apartment, she pulled out the vacuum and got rid of the animals easily without batting an eyelash. She was disgusted, yes, and her hands shook with the panic that spread through her at the mere thought of the spider attacking her and eating her alive (which was a pathetic thought, according to her, but he understood where she came from). Though whenever one happened to crawl by, she removed it because she knew he hated them.
No one had ever been this considerate, and they had only had one conversation about their dislikes in the past when the topic arose in a rather humorous manner and he dropped his irrational fear of spiders, explaining how he could hear them but never find them and that freaked him out. She had just laughed, keeping her own arachnophobia a light subject, playing it down for him so he wouldn’t get suspicious. Ever since then, she would remove every spider without him asking for it. She found them, always, even if it was a little late sometimes and he had already heard them crawling on the walls. But Matt being Matt, he was too much of a coward to ask her to remove them.
Until the size changed completely and it was no longer a daddy long legs or a tiny spider sitting on the wall but a huge, black one with legs that were seemingly bigger than his and Matt decided he had enough. He couldn’t stand in the kitchen with that thing staring at him, plotting his murder. He didn’t have to see it to know how monstrous it was.
Her reaction was proof of his suspicion. She jumped and screeched audibly when she saw it. Matt had his hands on his hips, sightless eyes directed at the kitchen as he listened to the spider do its thing. It was gross and he kept his distance specifically so it couldn’t jump on him even if it had the ability to do so.
“What the fuck is that?” she choked out. Her heart was beating up to her chest. “Why is it so big? What did it eat? Oh, my God, maybe she ate the neighbor.”
“She?” he asked.
“I don’t know. Spiders are all female to me. Doesn’t matter! That thing is huge.” It started moving at the same time she said that. “Ew, ew, ew, ew! Get it off. Get it away from me. Matt, kill it! I can’t look at it. God! Ew!”
Matt swallowed. He would do it. He would ask her to kill the spider instead because there was no way he was going to catch a thing that big and set it outside, and he didn’t want to listen to the heartbeat die out either. Not at his hands, at least, so he would do it. He would ask her, even though he hated that he had to. "Baby, I love you. You know that I'd do anything for you, but, uh... seven fucks to the no,” he said. “You're gonna have to kill that creepy thing yourself."
She gawked at him, then eventually huffed in absolute defeat. "So brave.”
He believed he could still talk himself out of her being mad at him. She knew about his distaste after all and would do it for him, right? She would conquer her fear for his sake, she had to or else both of them had to burn the house down and move far, far away, to New Zealand maybe.
“Have I told you that I love you? So, so much. You're beautiful, a goddess, I worship the ground you walk on. But sweetheart, love of my life, please go kill that fucking thing before I break out into hives. Please?"
The soft please let her defenses fall. She sighed, already searching for the vacuum. “If she is gone by the time I turn around,” she said, “I am moving out.”
“Right there with you,” he said.
“New Zealand maybe?”
“That’s what I was thinking.”
They were so in sync, he felt proud.
“Honey bees are considered the most dangerous there, you know. We wouldn’t have to worry about monstrous, venomous spiders trying to eat us.”
“I doubt it’s venomous, we’re in New York,” he argued. “But yeah, I get what you’re saying.”
The spider moved again, faster this time as if it could sense that she had gotten the vacuum from the closet, even adding the extension so she could stand as far away as possible.
Would it die in there? What if it crawled back out? Matt’s back itched. He didn’t want to think about that, but the longer he stood there, the bigger his concerns grew. Maybe burning the house down wasn’t such a bad idea after all. They could find a place to stay anywhere and just clean it all out before moving.
“Sweetheart,” he whispered in her general direction, “don’t want to alarm you but it sounds like the thing is fleeing the country.”
“No!” She snapped around with the vacuum in hand. “I will not let that fugitive get away with it.” She turned it on. “Be gone, Satan!”
He listened in awe as she squealed while sucking in the huge spider. She could have sworn she saw hairs on the body and she almost dropped the device. Sighing in relief once the spider was gone, disappeared into the depths of the vacuum, she went to turn it off.
Matt stopped her. “Maybe we should break a glass and then suck in the shards just in case it didn’t die,” he said.
“Matt, her legs were torn apart in there. She’s not gonna crawl back out.”
“You don’t know that!”
“Can you hear a heartbeat?”
“No, but insect heartbeats are faint. Please, let’s just completely demolish it before we put the vacuum back in the closet.”
“Oh, my God. I’m not gonna smash a glass,” she said.
“Then just vacuum the apartment,” he retorted.
She groaned, handing it over to him. “Do it yourself, big boy.”
“What if it comes out though?” He gave her a panicked expression. “What if it comes back out and eats me?”
“She won’t.”
“It might.”
“Matthew.”
“No, I won’t do it. I’d rather ask one of the neighbors to get rid of the entire vacuum than risk it coming back out again.”
She wanted to hit him over the head. He looked adorable like this, but sometimes he could be quite annoying, even after a scare like that. Perhaps he was onto something though. It might have still been alive and even she couldn’t take that chance.
She gave in and took the vacuum back, turning it on and sweeping the apartment, making sure to suck in as much dirt and dust as possible. She even vacuumed the couch and the bedroom. Pressing the head down on the carpet, she waited until she was sure any living thing would have suffocated, and then she finally turned it off.
Matt gave her the go-ahead, allowing her to stash it away. She did.
The pair continued staring at the door for another five minutes, eyebrows furrowed and senses spread out to make sure they weren’t going to be attacked by the monster.
She eventually turned to her boyfriend. “Do we think she’s dead?” she asked.
Matt tilted his head. “Jury’s still out on that one,” he said.
“I want to take a shower.”
“Then go.”
“Not when she can come out of the closet and eat you anytime.”
“I’m pretty sure a lesbian spider would be a new one.”
She needed a moment to register what he just said. Then, she toppled over with the brightest laugh he had heard her utter in a while.
“A LESBIAN SPIDER?!” she wheezed. “What is wrong with you, Matthew? Oh, my God.” Her chest rumbled with laughter once again until her sides started to hurt and she ran out of air.
Matt joined in, more surprised about how he got to that conclusion than anything else. He hadn’t even meant to say it, the words just slipped, but the joke was a good one and he had to note that he made her laugh like that. His mission was to do it more often, even if it were just with jokes about gay spiders, which, as he thought about it, was truly quite ridiculous.
“Yeah, I mean if she’s gonna come out of the closet…” he trailed off.
“Don’t explain the joke,” she said. “You’re gonna ruin it.”
“Sorry.”
“A lesbian spider.” She giggled. “Alright, I’m going to take a shower now.”
His arm shot out. “Wait!”
“Relax, Matthew. If you’re right about lesbianism, she’s not gonna eat you.”
Her footsteps disappeared into the bathroom where a lesbian spider could definitely find her in the shower and eat her, he figured, so he instantly trailed after his girlfriend.
“That doesn’t make me feel better!” he squeaked.
Her laugh rang out. “I know.”
Needless to say that they staked out to watch for any signs of the mysterious spider in the vacuum the entire night, even beyond their shared shower time.

Committed to the Cause - TASM! Peter Parker / Fem! Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Spider-Man gets injured in battle, he accidentally crashes into you and his hero complex comes into action. As he tries his best to redeem himself he can’t find a way out from the guilt and unbidden feelings.
Word count: 5,321
Warnings: mentions of blood, injuries, swear words, grief.
a/n: Hi! It’s me again, here I bring a story I started writing almost a year ago but i kind of forgot it existed until like four months ago. It’s a tasm! one, hope you like it! I divided it in 3 parts because it is a bit long so yeah, have fun :)
Part 1
Peter Parker sat down near Gwen Stacy’s grave, the sky was evenly gray and the cool air swirled around making the snowflakes dance away and float around. It’s been only a week since he came back to his universe.
“I wonder how Peter 2 and Peter 1 are doing right now.” He whispered to Gwen, while his fingers brushed through the colorful daisies he bought for her. “I’m Peter 3 you know? I guess 3 is just the best number,” he shrugged remembering the chaos of that night around his brothers from another universe, literally.
“Honestly Gwen, if you only could’ve seen them—see us. They were truly amazing, and the way we all connected and then we were shooting webs, the synchronicity that I experienced— I never had that. It was as if we could read each other’s minds and wow—it was fucking cool.“
Peter sighed, a hue of vapor escaped his lips. “I bet you saw it though, how I saved MJ? Peter 1’s girlfriend, I did what I couldn’t do for you Gwen. I’m sorry, I'll always be sorry for that.”
Adjusting his beanie tighter to his head when a sudden wave of wind made his skin form goosebumps. Deep in his heart he could feel that Gwen was actually listening to his banter, that this was her way of telling him that things were okay between the two.
Peter went to see Gwen every week, she was the love of his life, he was certain of it. But the truth was that Peter had lost all hope on love after Gwen.
He’d be lying if he denied the fact that he had found himself thinking of what Peter 2 said to him; that things worked out fine eventually in the love department, it put the seed of curiosity in him, what if things actually changed for him, in his heart, and he could finally let Gwen rest. He was clinging to her memory like a life jacket, if he let go he would drown, he would lose himself to the darkness.
His phone buzzed as a message showed him a text of the police department trying to contact Spider-Man.
“Gotta go Gwen, I’ll see you next week. Love you so much.” He put a kiss on his palm to then let it linger on her tombstone.
In a hidden part of an alley he put his mask on, he had to put his stuff between some garbage bags so people wouldn’t steal it, there wasn’t much to steal there, still he plastered it with web fluid, a force of habit. He swung between tall buildings and across streets, hearing sudden gasps and shouts announcing his presence in the city. It was funny how things had actually changed for him in the span of years; The Daily Bugle seemed to stop with the nasty propaganda; he was now on good terms with the police, he also had free health insurance thanks to the police department and he was doing well financially. Stark Industries was a place he never thought he would find a spot to fit in, to do the research he felt drawn to.
There were big threats still in New York but Peter didn’t feel that dread whenever he fought, the constant fear of losing someone he loved, those being the benefits of being alone, but how alone could you be to start missing the company of a partner after years of being lonesome?
Spider-Man quickly solved the robbery near the upper east side, it wasn’t a major thing, the thieves got webbed and delivered to the detectives, he got a bullet wound in his shoulder but nothing some tweezers, neosporin and a bandage couldn’t solve. Peter was even able to do so by himself now: the perks of being alone.
Peter had received several injuries and even more deeper wounds than the one he had on his shoulder but this one time as he shoot a strand of web coming from his right arm—the wounded one—his arm didn’t find it easy to carry his weight, and he was feeling somewhat dizzy, he thought it was the blood lose, because he hadn’t received a kick to the head nor anywhere his body could react the way it was doing now. He found himself screaming as he fell from a twenty four storage building.
“Watch out! Spider down!”
His instincts shouted at him to use his other web shooter, he did so, but Peter was being a little clumsy today. Slow motion turned on in his brain. The web-thread splashed on the building in front of him, but the height wasn’t enough to make him swing by without any implications. The chime of a bicycle bell was his only warning. After that he felt the clash of his body against something warm and then he rolled on the cold concrete.
That was embarrassing. People screamed and sooner than what Spider-Man could recover, people were surrounding him to help him get up.
“I’m fine, don’t worry.” He spoke under the mask, his shoulder throbbing with every move.
It took him a few seconds to register what just happened. He saw a mint green bike with a twisted handlebar, a bunch of flowers scattered and crushed on the ground and then panic started to bubble in his chest. A girl—a young woman was sitting on the wet asphalt, a few people were kneeling by her side as she held her arm against her chest.
Spider-Man ran to her side, pushing the pedestrians lightly. Squatting down, his eyes scanning her, a scrape on her cheek and forehead on the same side of what he guessed was an injured arm.
“I am so sorry, I swear this isn’t me, I mean it is me but I don’t know what happened I don’t— are you alright? Can I help you with anything?”
The woman had pools of tears on the rim of her eyes, she was holding them in, because that was just humiliating, she was late for the delivery and now she had lost the bouquets and she didn’t dare to accuse The Spider-Man of her bad luck. The day was not a good one since the start. This was the ultimate confirmation.
“No, Spider-Man… sir, It’s not your fault, I just, I think I broke my arm.” She was barely able to pronounce the words, she was in terrible pain, how could she know?
“Oh, let me see.” Peter gulped under the mask, his stomach churning. He had broken the woman’s arm, this was bad. Taking her elbow she winced, tears finally slipped down her cheeks, shit. “Ms. I need to take you to the hospital.”
“No, no I have work, I can't go to the hospital now.” He saw the panic take over her features.
“It’s the least I could do. I caused this, please let me do something.”
Guilt was eating him alive, the more time he spent there with all the witnesses watching and telling her she should take Spider-Man’s word.
She felt a little hazy on the head, like when you take a pill to not get dizzy on a long road trip, and everything starts to lose sense, sounds muffling. She shook her head trying to keep the masked hero away, she had to work, she needed to gather the flowers and—
“Ms.?” Spider-Man felt panic, a rush of blood like his spider senses were going off.
Her eyes rolled backwards and she went limp on his arms.
“No, no, no.” he mumbled, taking her in his arms he did what he could to swing through the city to reach the nearest hospital.
People, nurses, doctors, they all came to a halt when they saw Spider-Man arrive carrying a woman on his arms, this was quite the scene Peter could imagine but he was not able to think straight not when he had hurt someone—by mere accident that was true, yet the guilt was so heavy he felt like he could cry under the mask.
“I need help please!” He shouted and as if he had broken a curse, nurses and doctors moved again, some of them walking towards him.
“What happened?” a nurse asked as they started moving him to a nearby stretcher.
“uh, I… she had an accident on her bike and I think her arm is broken and she has a concussion or something I’m not sure.”
The nurse nodded as they put oxygen on the girl quickly moving her to the ER. Peter followed them until someone stopped him. “Sorry man, you can’t come in.”
“Oh, yeah ok. I’ll just wait.”
“You need to get yourself fixed too.” The same nurse told him, pointing to his shoulder. “You’re ruining the floor.”
Peter’s eyes looked down and there, from his shoulder all the way down to his finger tips a thread of blood was dripping down, leaving crimson drops on the floor.
“Sorry,”
A minute later another nurse got to him and made him follow her into a room.
“We know you can’t reveal your identity and if people keep on seeing you out there they’re gonna start asking questions and it’s gonna be messy. So mister Spider-Man can you take off your suit? The mask can stay on, I need to clean that.”
Peter was a bit shocked still and maybe the blood loss was not helping so he nodded, his suit landed at his feet in a pool or red and blue, at least he was wearing a nice pair of boxers.
“I recommend you to come back later, you will only cause drama here, mister Spider-Man”
The nurse said and Peter just watched her work.
He was good as new in no time. His head felt light still but he managed to swing back to where he put his belongings in that alley. With the last bits of adrenalin still in him, he swung back to May’s, he sat on his old bed, suit on, mask off. The uneasiness he felt in his chest was suffocating. Why did he leave the hospital then? He couldn’t be at peace now. And why did he end up at May’s when he had his own apartment in Manhattan?
Maybe his injury affected his brain, his eyes checked his shoulder and the little wound was almost closed, thank goodness for fast healing but what about those who didn’t have that… What about the girl?
He wanted to make sure the girl he hurt was okay, it was an obvious statement. Yet he couldn’t go as Peter because he didn’t know anything about her and ugh, he grunted against his hands. Then he could go as Spider-Man. He knew the nurses would let him in if he asked kindly. However, he was scared of the reaction of the girl, what would she think of him of his idiocy. Spider-Man was not known for hurting pedestrians, he was supposed to save them not harm them.
His phone chimed from inside his backpack, Peter was on a streak of bad luck.
The news on his mistake quickly spread, he shook his head reading the article The Bugle had just released, how were they so fast? He wondered as his messages continued to pop up, Jonah Jameson wanted photos of Spider-Man, Peter’s former boss couldn’t let the other news sites win the exclusive so when it came to Spider-Man he still contacted Peter for exclusive photos, and Peter delivered, just because the news always made him look nice, but not this time.
Peter groaned even louder, this was not how he planned his day to go. Whenever he visited Gwen he usually had the best experiences afterwards, once he found a fifty dollar bill on the subway, just lying there on a seat, and then there was this other time where he got a free coffee because the owner proposed to her girlfriend and the drinks were free.
But that luck seemed to be long gone.
“Peter, are you in there?”
Peter’s heart jumped, he didn’t know May was home. “Yes it’s me, May!”
“Are you okay?"
“Um, yeah. I just got work to do and you know me… I’m complaining.”
“With the amount of hours you work I’d complain too. Are you heading out? I need you to bring me some bread and milk, are you staying the night, right?”
“Yeah, sure, May. Why not! Are you working today?”
“Yes, but the car is at the mechanic,” Shit, Peter totally forgot about that, he made a mental note to give May some money to get that car fixed.
“At what time you’re off?” he asked, putting a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie on. “Do you want me to pick you up?” he said, opening the door.
May shook her head, a sweet smile on her face, “No, Peter. Jamie, my coworker is driving me back, you’re fine. Just don’t come back too late okay.”
Her hand caressed Peter’s cheek, making his anxious body feel slightly better. He gave her palm a light kiss and nodded. “Of course not May, when have I been late for our weekly dinners?”
He let out a chuckle watching May drop her hand as she rolled her eyes, she shook her head and with a tired sigh she only added. “Don’t forget the bread and milk!”
“I won’t!”
His smile dropped once he heard his phone buzz again. Plopping on the bed, with furrowed eyebrows, and a guilty mind, he took the decision he guessed was the most appropriate, maybe was a little over the top either way his hazy mind was calling the shots for the day.
He found himself crawling up the walls of the hospital at night, after finding the girl’s room. Spider-Man found a way in, the windows were tiny but not too tiny to not let him sneak his body inside. Crazy, he knew, he had no other option.
Seemed like none of her family members got informed because no one was there making her company. Peter felt even worse. Gulping, he took a step closer to her bed, she was sleeping. It gave him enough time to assess the damages he caused. She had butterfly closures on her forehead, her lips were chapped and her arm was in a cast resting on her stomach. Her face was resting on the pillow in a weird angle almost over her left shoulder.
The IV made a rhythmic noise with each drop, the monitors were checking her heart rate. Somehow seeing her like that made the guilt and worry grow, Peter wanted to fix this.
His eyes landed on a clipboard over a table at the feet of the bed. He grabbed it and checked every detail. Name y/n, heart skipped a beat, now her face had a name. You were a year younger than him, you had health insurance, well that was something good he could cross from the list of his doing wrongs.
No concussions, no internal bleeding, you had surgery on your broken arm, Peter winced, the radius broke in two and now you were half a robot with the pins and rods attaching your bone together. That definitely was not helping Peter feel better.
“Shit,” he mumbled, placing the clipboard back down. His hands were up to his head.
When his eyes found your face you were looking at him, with wide eyes and parted lips, Peter felt his soul leaving his body.
“Jesus fuck!” He gasped a hand on his chest. “You scared me,”
“I—um sorry? I’m, what… how did you get in?”
His hands went to his hips and shrugged. “Through the bathroom window.”
“Why?” you tried to reincorporate on the bed but whined when you moved your arm, like you forgot you had it in a cast.
“Because there was no other way to get in,”
“But there’s a door there,” you pointed with your head. “It’s easier,”
Peter furrowed, you were not able to see him. He sighed. “Yeah, I know that. But it’s the anonymity of the visit that I want to keep… anonymous.”
What was he saying now!
He shook his head. “Um, how are you feeling?”
You scoffed, Peter deserved that disdain. “Like shit, well not as bad because I’m on medication but still not great with a useless arm.”
The casted one got up as if to show him, he nodded. Taking a step closer, his hands grasped the plastic railing at the feet of the bed.
“I can imagine— I owe you an apology, I wasn’t feeling too well and it wasn’t my intention to hurt you… or anyone. I don’t do that, you know? Goes against the hero thing.”
Your eyes were shining either for the low lights coming from outside or because you were on very strong medications, Peter couldn’t tell, what he saw was a little smile on your lips.
“I suppose it’s not on the hero policy… It's fine Spider-Man, sir.”
Peter chuckled. “Spider-Man it’s fine, I’m not as old as you may think I am.”
You cocked an eyebrow. “Really? I thought you were like thirty five or something.”
“Ouch, I… hmm no, no I—listen. I'm gonna tell you this because I think I owe you something so I’ll answer this one concern of yours, I'm around your age. So think twice before calling me old again, young lady.”
Now he saw a full smile blossom in your face, it made him feel better, a lightness finally reaching his sore shoulders.
“Um okay,” you laid deeper on your pillow, a smile still tugging at the corner of your lips.
Peter felt suddenly so overly conscious of his body and presence in front of you in a dark room, the darkness was helping but he felt your eyes on him as he paced around.
“Do you know how many days you are gonna be here?” he asked.
“I have no idea, I woke up surrounded by people, then I passed out when the nurse extended my arm and woke up like two hours ago to go pee and then fell asleep and then you were here.”
“That bad huh?” Peter crossed his arms as he leaned his back on the wall right in front of you.
“The pain was bad, but now it’s light. I do feel like I’m in a cloud when I don’t move.”
“That must be nice,” his back cracked unbidden.
“That, on the other hand, sounds bad… Are you better now? or why did you crash into me?”
Peter blinked, scratched his forehead and watched you, you looked tiny and sleepy.
“I got a bullet wound right here,” he touched his clavicle. “Lost blood and that’s when I accidentally crashed into you I was feeling dizzy, but yes I am better now.”
“I see… well, at least you are not in risk of losing your job,”
Peter straightened, a knot in his throat. “You lost your job? because of me?”
You bit the inside of your cheek, making his agony longer.
“Not really, just my weekly payment. My dad’s the owner so he wouldn't fire me, but still he didn’t even come see me, so” you shrugged. “you’re all good Spider-Man.”
“Hmm for what it’s worth I am truly sorry and I want to make it up to you, so if you need anything, really I am here for you.” Peter walked to your side, his hand lingered over your shoulder, debating himself if the touch would be too much.
“I don’t think I need anything, but thank you.” you were blinking more often, heavier.
“Are you sure?” his hand dropped by his side, forming a fist.
He wanted you to ask him a favor he wanted to feel useful, to prove to you he was good and not an asshole.
Your eyes grew big for a moment. “Wait, there is something… but I don’t think it’s safe,”
Peter clasped his hands together. “I’ll do it, what is it? I mean I’m Spider-Man, if something is not safe I am your guy, I do unsafe things for free all the time.”
“Hmm… right, okay yeah. I mean it’s not safe for me but why not, what else could happen to me, right?”
You laughed, Peter grimaced, fair enough.
“My dog, I have a little dog and he hasn’t been fed since I left this morning so… I mean if you don’t have any crime to fight right now, would you feed him?”
And his heart melted, maybe because you looked very worried and the way you were observing him made his chest flutter.
“Yeah, of course. I love dogs, I can do that, easy peasy. You got it!”
You grinned at him, teeth and sparkly eyes, Peter felt weird.
He let you explain how much food he had to put on his plate, and to refill his water bowl as well, to not step on his little grass square where he peed and to leave the window just ajar for the air to circulate.
And at the end you gave him your address, hesitation still on your voice, but Peter promised you he was going in and out fast.
“I’ll check on you later okay?” Spider-Man said, as he walked to the bathroom.
You nodded, giving him a lipped smile. “You can use the door,”
“Nah, not my style… see ya later y/n.”
Peter struggled to get out, it wasn’t as easy as getting in. He considered using the door next time.
Your apartment was small, not too small but it wasn’t big as in rich family kind of big. But it was small as in cozy. Your dog, Percy, was barking at him as he entered through your room’s window. It smelled like coconut, he sighed.
When he opened the door to reveal the hall leading to the living room, Percy jumped at his legs, looking at him with curiosity, and the barking resumed. Peter started petting him on his tiny head and as soon as Peter reached his bag of food, Percy sat at his feet.
“Oh good boy!” He scratched tiny Percy on the back of his ear.  “Okay, Percy, show me your bowl…”
It surprised Peter to see Percy run from the kitchen to the spot dedicated to the little Yorkiepoo, two bowls rested side by side on a corner as his bed was placed right beside the largest couch in the room. Toys were scattered around and Peter smiled.
“Okay so your kind owner said half a cup and two treats, right?” Percy tilted his head, Peter laughed. “You are too cute”
The bowls got filled with the respective things and as Percy ate throwing Spider-Man curious looks, Peter roamed around the room. His mask forgotten on the couch. You were messy but not too messy, your apartment was clean and you had flowers everywhere. A big vase of daisies in your bedroom. Another one with lavender carnations and purple monte casinos, it made your house smell fresh. He watched a photo of you with friends and he noticed how different you looked, dressed up in casual clothes, hair brushed and yes, without a cast on the arm.
You were pretty, he noticed, how your hair fell over your shoulders and your eyes were big and sparkly. Maybe your eyes were always shining.
A bark took him out of the trance, Percy was at his feet again looking up to him. Peter squatted down and patted the dog, until the latter laid on his back showing Peter his chubby belly.
“You want me to scratch your belly? Okay, but just once because I have to go, still need to go buy some stuff you know? I need to fight bad guys and do groceries, not like you!” he kept on scratching until Percy moved his back legs as if he wanted to scratch himself. “Look at you, living your best life.”
With a sigh, Peter stood up. Ready to go back to his life, this has been a nice way to stop for a second but for him there were not many breaks.
A flick of a wrist, the window slid open a little, he gathered his web with his hand so Percy wouldn’t eat it, put his mask on and jumped off the balcony window.
Spider-Man had a busy night, some guys robbed a few trucks with chemicals inside that ended with an explosion on a dock. He felt a bruise forming on his back and arms, but he managed to get out of there, leaving the robbers webbed onto a wall of a building, the police and the firemen arrived in time for him to take a minute to recover from the smoke and the harsh hits his body received.
He filled in the police with the information and as the sun emerged, the warm sun beams calmed the pain and the coolness of his bones as he made his way back to the hospital.
Spider-Man was not in condition to sneak in through the smallest window in the room, so he entered through the emergency exit and took the elevator. People threw him furtive looks, a kid hugging his mom’s arm had his eyes glued to him, so he did what any other person would do, Peter waved at him and the kid beamed. With excuses and hand gestures Peter sighed, exiting the elevator, no nurses were around but once he entered your room, he got surprised by the one nurse who had received you a day before.
“Oh mister Spider-Man, good to see you.” She smiled at him and Peter saluted her as she made her way to the door. “She is ready to go,” she winked at him and Peter knitted his brows together.
His eyes landed on you, gathering your stuff in a tote bag as best as you could, your left arm was not as trained as the right, he noticed.
“Hey!” he said, waving at you.
You nodded. “Would you help me?”
“Sure,” Peter opened the bag and you literally threw everything in.
“Thanks… how was your night?” you asked, dark circles around your eyes.
Peter shrugged, regretting it instantly as his muscles complained. “Nothing out of the ordinary. What about you?”
You sat down on the bed. “I feel weird, but okay I guess.”
“Are you walking home?”
“Nope, got to go see how work is doing and then I’ll go home.”
Peter nodded, well… this must be it then. “Percy is a cute dog, very well behaved.”
It made you smile, hence Peter did so too. “He is… thank you by the way, for checking on him and for coming by too. You didn’t have to but you did anyway.”
Peter felt a flush and warmth coming for his cheeks. “Nah, it’s nothing. As I said I owed you so it was the least I could do, really. I’m glad you are okay, sorry for the arm though.”
Peter smiled even if you couldn’t see.
“Well, it was fun to see the famous Spider-Man up close. No offense but hope this is the last time,”
“Ouch, no, yeah I get it, hope that too. Don’t get in trouble, okay?”
“You got it spidey.”
You looked at your feet and the whole mood in the room felt weird, so Peter knew this was his cue.
“I’m gonna go now, need a bit of rest after a long night. See you… well… yeah whatever, bye y/n.”
He heard you chuckle, Peter shook his head feeling a bit dumb, closing the door at his back he made his way out the hospital.
When he got back to May's, he came to the realization that he didn’t buy the bread nor the milk, May made sure to remind him.
“PETER!”
“I’m on it, May! Sorry!”
•••
Peter was late for his date, his date with Gwen. He fell asleep on the subway and now he had to swing all the way back to get her weekly bouquet.
The place where he always bought flowers was closed, mumbling obscenities as he crossed the street.
How funny was that only half a block down another flower shop was open.
He bought flowers only for Gwen and for May’s birthday, so he didn’t know much about them other than the classic red roses for his aunt and the colorful daisies for Gwen. His jaw almost hit the floor seeing the flowers on display, buckets of color and the smell so fresh and so sweet and so magical.
After a second of admiring the shop he went to the desk where a guy was wrapping pink roses for a woman. He gave him a lipped smile which Peter replied with a nod.
“How much for a small bouquet of daisies?”
The guy waved to the woman and put all his attention on Peter. “What kind?”
“Um.. normal? I don’t know.”
The guy looked at him funny. “We have pink daisies, african, chicory, fire wheel, gerberas, japanese…”
“Just the cheapest bouquet you can give me.”
Peter was late and he was not in the mood to know the kinds of flowers. He also forgot his wallet and now he had like ten dollars to survive the day.
“Okay…” the guy shook his head. “Y/n,”
Peter’s heart skipped a beat.
Suddenly you appeared from a door he hadn't noticed until now, cast still on, but you looked healthier.
“What?!”
“Price for a bouquet of daisies…”
“What kind?” you sounded exasperated.
“Cheap,” the guy said in a tone that made Peter want to roll his eyes.
You squinted at the guy and Peter almost laughed. “Umm… eight dollars.” You finally looked at Peter.
Peter felt naked without the mask, and even if it was a crazy idea that he would deny later on the day, he, deep inside, was hoping you’d recognize him.
“Uh, um yeah that’s okay.” Peter spoke, a little choked.
“What colors do you want?” you asked him.
“All of them?”
It made you smile. “Nice.”
And you disappeared through the door, Peter let out the trapped air in his lungs.
The guy was just staring at him weirdly. “cash or card?”
“Cash,”
“Of course.”
Peter furrowed his eyebrows, offended. “Whatever man, I don’t want anything, thanks.”
Peter came out of the store mad, upset, shocked and disappointed. Crossing the street he tried to look for another flower shop. He didn't care he was late anymore, Gwen was a priority and he shouldn’t feel this shitty prior to his date.
“Hey, hey… dude..”
He heard and looked over his shoulder, you were running towards him, a bouquet in hand, cheeks red and no coat on. Were you crazy or what?
Peter stopped and waved his hands to stop you.
“You forgot your flowers!” you said, a hue of vapor came out of your lips.
“I didn't pay for them,”
“I know,” you looked embarrassed. “Sorry about Jerry, he's a little bitch, here take them! They’re on the house.”
Peter’s eyes went from your eyes to the happy perky daisies on your hand.
“I will follow you around until you take them.” You grinned. “Go on.”
Peter with a little smirk on her lips, sighed. “Just because you have no coat on and it’s freezing… Thank you.”
“It’s my pleasure, have a nice day.”
Your smile made him feel funny inside. “Yeah you too.”
Pivoting on your post you made your way back, Peter stood there perched, waiting for you to get inside the shop again, his cheeks went fully red when you looked back at him and smiled.
“No,” he simply said, shaking his head making his way to see Gwen.

Your shiny, entirely fake wings keep bumping into the ridiculous amount of people crammed into this room, and you're sure you have never apologized more times in your life than tonight. Wanda has assured you many times that, no, you should not take off your wings because you look—in her words—adorable. It was her idea, after all, to dress you up like a little flowery fairy for the Halloween party Tony has thrown tonight. She made your wings all fluttery and glittery, and the flowers in your hair sparkle every now and then. It feels like a childhood dream coming true.
"Spider-boy!" you call out over the loud music, jumping as you stretch your hand up in the air to alert the young man twenty feet away.
For a "quiet gathering" there sure are a lot of loud, drunk people here. Then again, it was your mistake to trust the promise of Stark when it came to a party.
Your jumping up and down is entirely unnecessary when you're trying to gain the attention of someone with a creepy sixth sense that allows them to just know everything happening around them. Peter already knew exactly where you were the moment you opened your mouth. It doesn't help that you're just a tiny, little bit of tipsy either.
He smiles a toothy grin as he pushes past the crowd towards you, showing glimpses of his Indiana Jones costume that's honestly a slightly surprising choice. He looks handsome though.
"Hi, Y/n!" he nearly shouts over the music, embracing you in a side hug as he takes a look at your outfit. "You're a fairy! It fits you so great, it's like you were meant to be one,” Peter exclaims happily while you chuckle lightheartedly.
"Thank you, it was Wanda's idea. Indiana Jones, huh?" you ask, raising an eyebrow in question. It's quite uncharacteristic. Last year he went as Nikola Tesla and nobody knew who he was supposed to be.
"Yeah, Tony said I had to go as something cooler this year. He'd disown me otherwise." Peter cringes while your head is thrown back in laughter.
"He told me I looked like a moth earlier," you answer with a grin on your lips, the remnants of your chuckles fading out.
"You look great, Y/n. Very sweet. Think Bucky's gonna get here any second and tell me to keep any 'punks' away from you," Peter tells you. You roll your eyes, though fondly.
"Hm, I bet he will," you hum. "Gotta send him back soon if he keeps that up. Both of them, for that sake."
You nod your head towards the blonde head sticking up in the bar crowd. Your brother is an overbearing mess that you would much rather let you be, instead of hovering protectively around your presence constantly. He seems to have eased up on his duties tonight, though, in honor of the holiday.
"I think it's good that—you know—they look out for you. There are a lot of bad guys out there," Peter says, scratching his head nervously like it would somehow offend you.
"Yeah, that's understandable. Though Steve and Bucky seem to think I'm still a kid." You scrunch your nose fondly.
"Well, you are. Kind of," Peter says. Your mouth hangs agape jokingly, with a silent scoff in answer.
"Oh, that's where we're going! You're only two years older, asshole," you say with a glare, taking a sip from the drink in your hand.
"Those two years make a world of difference." He smiles with a glint in his eyes. "Head off to college and then they'll see you as an adult, maybe."
"I'm going in January—stop looking at me like that!" you yell when he smirks, holding back a laugh. "I'm serious! Alright, okay, we're not playing nice tonight, are we?" You raise an eyebrow in question.
"Sure," he smiles. It falters just as quickly when you snatch the red solo cup out of his hand, gulping down the sweet and bitter liquid before crumpling the cup in your hands. "Hey!" Peter shouts. "You're not 21!"
"Neither are you." A victorious smile adorns your lips. You try not to show the distaste from the bitter liquid burning in your throat.
"In a few months!" Peter blushes and you fight the urge to coo at him because he gets shy over the most peculiar things.
"You're so cute, Parker," you tell him with a bop to his nose.
"Oh, piss off," he says and shakes his head.
"Learnt a new swear word? Impressive. College has really changed you."
"You're really annoying right know, you know that?"
You shake your head frantically, scrunching your nose simultaneously, and there's something different about you that Peter just noticed now.
"You're already drunk, aren't you?" he asks with realization dawning upon him. You gaze up at him with a mischievous glint and a gasp escapes him. "Y/n, Steve's gonna freak out on you!"
"He's never gonna find out. And I'm not drunk. I had three drinks earlier, 's fine," you say with a dismissive wave.
"Three drinks?" he breathes out in disbelief. "That's not little—hey! Hands off, asshole!" Peter interrupts the beginning of his speech to scare away the twenty-something with his hands on your hips.
"Dickhead," the guy mutters under his breath as he backs away. You turn around to meet Peter's eyes with a pout as the guy saunters off, a disappointed frown in between your brows.
"That guy was hot. You scared him away. You ruined my only chance," you pout.
You turn around again before Peter has the chance to answer, roaming your eyes around for the guy. With only a few seconds he's managed to land himself over by the bar, drink raised to his lips as he eyes you hungrily despite Peter's warnings. You smile, biting your lip with a newfound confidence you've never experienced. Yeah, definitely tipsy. Sober you would be hiding away in the cleaning closet by now.
"Well, yeah, he was—Y/n, hello?" Peter lays his hand on your shoulder, turning you around to meet his eyes again. "You know what? We're gonna go for a walk." He lays an arm around your shoulders, gently steering you away from the guy and into the crowd.
"Oh, where?" you ask, already forgotten the source of your previous pout. "Careful of my wings, Parker."
"It's a surprise," Peter says as he loosens his hold around your wings, glancing to see if they're alright. You stop talking almost instantly and for once he's happy to know some silence from you, because right now you can't seem to shut up and he's not used to spending time with your chipper-talkative version.
Peter pushes the two of you through the thick, sweaty crowd filled with lazy costumes and masterpieces alike, ranging from several layers thick to barely covering anything at all. He recognizes some of the people from the compound, some from his college that he doesn't even know how they got here, but most of them are complete strangers.
You send flirty glances and hellos over your shoulder to every guy you gain eye contact with. It's scary how fast the alcohol went to your brain, from being completely unnoticeable to half-drunk in a minute. Peter does not like the drunk you. Or he does, maybe, but not in a room filled with guys who just can't wait to get under your ridiculously cute dress. It's offensive really, how you can manage to look so excruciatingly innocent and hot at the same time. He'll curse out Wanda tomorrow.
The party is so packed with people that it takes ten minutes before he finds the ones he's looking for. Wanda and Natasha sip on their martinis in a ridiculously large couch, gossiping like a bunch of school girls as they shout encouragements at Sam and Tony on the dance floor. Peter sighs, nearly pushing you down on the couch next to Natasha before he slouches down himself.
"What do we have here, huh?" Natasha smirks and takes a small sip of her drink.
"She's drunk. I'm exhausted. Please take her off my hands," Peter says as he throws his head back on the couch. You let out a giggle, leaning against Natasha's shoulder.
"He's exaggerating," you say with your voice muffled by her shoulder.
"Okay, young lady. Drunk, huh?" Wanda asks, raising an eyebrow in question. Her perfectly red lips curl into a smile that shows she's not really upset about it.
"No," you mumble, scratching your nose with your manicured finger for the occasion. "Hiya, Auntie," you coo while curling up besides Natasha.
"Stop calling me Auntie," she mutters and gently pushes you off her shoulder.
"How's your boyfriend? Jake? No, John. Wait! Jack!" you fumble over your words. It might as well be any of the three names, because Natasha has been showing up with a new person on her arm every other month this year. You don't know what it is, really, but you guess you should be glad she's exploring her options.
"Jason," Natasha says through a roll of her eyes. The slightest hint of amusement can be found on her lips, but it's nothing that she shows to someone else. "And he's very much good, now stop asking. He's just getting drinks," she says and nods towards the bar.
"I like that guy," you exclaim excitedly. There's no doubt about your drunken state in this moment, because in no shape or form have you been as wounded up about any of Natasha's past partners.
"Hey, honey," Wanda catches your attention with a gentle hand on your arm, reaching across the sofa. "Where's your brother hiding? I can't imagine he would be very happy with you being drunk, no?" she asks.
"He can't know!" you exclaim with a whispered shout. "He's gonna kill me, please, Wanda."
Your eyes are blown wide open in fear. It's not that Steve would be mad—the disappointment is what you desperately want to evade. He gets that frown in between his eyebrows, puts his hands on his hips and shakes his head while looking down to the ground. Being on the receiving side of that is humiliating, on the verge of heartbreaking. You can't handle that tonight.
"I don't know, sweetheart..."
"Please, Wanda." There's tears gathering in your eyes, more so for dramatic effect than actual upset. You've slid down onto your knees in front of her, begging with your hands on her thighs.
"Oh god," Natasha mutters under her breath, setting down her drink on the table while indifferently glancing over to the bar where her boyfriend of the month resides.
She can't really handle this theatric version of you. There's a reason you're usually one of her favorites, despite your young age—your ability to be fucking quiet. Whoever gave you all that alcohol is on her damn hit list.
While she tunes out the conversation behind her, some kind of settlement is agreed upon where you, of course, get your way. No more alcohol, and Wanda won't tell your brother or Bucky what you have been up to.
When she stands up to leave, you're on your feet again. Now your attention has wandered over to Peter's costume, talking of how 'incredibly accurate to detail' it is despite being thrown together last minute by the college student. The only thing telling what he's dressed as is the hat paired with the old leather jacket.
A wet kiss is pressed to Natasha's cheek as soon as she joins Jason by the bar. His hand instantly finds her waist, pressing her into him tightly. His touch almost repulses her. He's too straightforward with his affection, so obvious in his quest to show her off.
"You look so goddamn sexy," he whispers into her ear. "Been thinking about what we talked about the other day."
Nat hums absentmindedly in answer, raising a finger swiftly to wave over the bartender.
"You know, having another p—"
"Yeah, I know what you're talking about," she interrupts him.
He brought it up about a week ago, and she only entertained the idea because she was bored. Jason is only a temporary occupation for her constant need to destress—there's no way in hell she's gonna adhere to his fantasy of having two girls sucking him off at the same time.
"She's not your real niece, no?" Jason asks suddenly, setting his gaze on your soft curves in that angelic dress framing your figure on the other side of the room.
Natasha's attention snaps from her drink to where his eyes are set. "You know she's not," she mutters as she takes a sip on her martini, suspiciously eyeing her boyfriend.
"I'm up for it," he says, nodding your way.
"Excuse me?" Natasha raises an eyebrow, gracefully setting down her glass on the counter.
"She's our girl, I have a feeling she is. You can ask her, can't you?" Jason smirks as he shamelessly keeps his stare on you. "Pretty little thing like that would be up for anything, wouldn't she?"
It takes exactly two seconds for Natasha to have a sharp fork pressed against Jason's side, just above one of his major arteries and restricting his breathing. A choked gurgle escapes his lips as Natasha's mouth lingers next to his ear.
"I know 72 different ways to break every bone in your body, and I can make 65 of them seem like an accident." Her smooth voice fills his ear. "Keep her name out of your mouth."
She keeps the fork pressed into his skin for a few seconds, just for extra measure, before she lets it go and Jason coughs violently as his hand flies up to his throat. Natasha takes another sip of her drink, glancing over the unsuspecting crowd with a roll of her eyes.
"I suggest you leave. Go clean up in the bathroom, you have a stain on your shirt," Natasha says before taking her drink and walking away.
• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •
You squeeze yourself through the thick bathroom line, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear while trying to avoid bumping into as many people as possible. You gave up on preserving your wings two drinks ago, because quite frankly you have forgotten them by now.
You might also have ignored your fellow elders' warnings of laying off the alcohol, choosing to indulge in whatever drink you could get your hands on for one evening only. It's a risky move, but it's something you can afford. You rarely stir up any trouble, if any at all. What fun is it if you remain predictable all the time?
The music blares through the floor, thumping along with the people jumping up and down against it. You're out of it in the most wonderful way, rid of your constant presence in your own mind, if even for just a short while. The consequences do not exist and neither does your conscience.
When a guy in his late twenties, or thirties, maybe even your age, grasps a hold of your hand and asks if you want to dance, you answer yes without any hesitation. Sweaty bodies spread their heat around, pushing up against you and the mysterious guy as you move against each other.
You barely know what you're doing. You're only following along, letting him control your movements close to his body. If you were more sober you would have seen how it could be more likened to grinding than dancing, but the weight of his hands on your hips feels grounding instead of unnerving.
"You look so fucking pretty," he says into your ear, muffled by the alcohol buzzing in your head and the music blaring over the speakers.
You throw your arms around his neck, looking up at him with what you think is a smile. You're trying, at least. "Thank—" Hiccup. "Thank you. You're pretty too," you say, even though you can barely make out his features in the darkness.
But you think he looks pretty. A hypothesis based on the way his hands feel on your skin. Hot may be a better word for it, but in your state of mind adjectives do not differ especially much from each other. That's why you let him drag you away from the crowd, pushing through drunk people until you find a relatively secluded corner of the floor.
The wall is cold against your heated skin, your back against it while the man's arms cage you in. The feeling of his lips trailing across your neck barely registers. It just feels nice, you think. Your eyes are fluttered close, back arching while you mumble indetectable words you can't even decipher yourself. You're so fucking drunk you won't even remember this moment in the morning.
That's the problem with you drinking tonight—your alcohol consumption has been so limited that you have no conception of whatever is much or not. You have no idea if it takes three or six drinks to get you affected. You have no idea what you are like on tequila or vodka, on Prosecco or red wine. So now, eight drinks later of so many different types you can't even remember which was which, you're out of it enough to barely remember your own name.
His wet lips against yours are a suffocating presence you would much rather be without. It's sloppy and rushed, not at all what you imagined kissing would be. You wince to yourself, pushing him away just an inch to run the back of your hand against your mouth.
And then he's suddenly gone. You could have sworn he stood right in front of you. It takes a good ten seconds before you find him on the floor, clutching his nose with an angry frown in between his eyebrows.
"What the fuck, man?!" he shouts, looking up at the guy who has a funny hat on his head and a heaving chest.
"Stay away from her," the guy seethes, suddenly taking a gentle hold of your arm.
You don't have it in you to protest. Maybe it's dangerous to follow whoever when they tell you to, but your moral compass is non-existent in this state.
"Are you okay, Y/n?" the guy asks you. You blink, staring at his face while trying to piece together his features. No words come out of your mouth. "Damnit," he sighs, shaking his head.
A woman comes up to him with rushed steps, agitated look on her face. "Is she alright, Peter?" She runs her eyes over your disheveled figure.
"She's completely out of it. Must have snuck in quite a lot of more drinks," he answers. "Your dickhead of a boyfriend is taken care of, by the way. Probably won't stir up anymore trouble now."
"I should have checked so he actually left. It was reckless to think he would leave her alone," she says with a stern face, cold gaze watching the exit.
"Wasn't your fault, Nat," Peter assures her. You sway in your stance, stumbling into his hold while he steadies his grip around you.
"She needs to lay down before she passes out. Get her a glass of water for me, will you?" Natasha commands.
Peter nods, giving you a concerned glance before reluctantly heading towards the bar. Your head comes to lean on Natasha's shoulder with a whine, letting her lead you wherever she's going. You're starting to feel dizzy and slightly nauseous, and you do not like it. If you had the energy to speak you would launch a heavy string of complaints.
"Come on now, darling. A few more steps," she says, taking on more of your weight.
Your face is buried into her shoulder. The only thing detectable from your blubbering is the whines, wordlessly pleading to take you away from wherever you are and rid you of the nausea.
Heavy glances are exchanged between Peter and Natasha as he pushes through the crowd, fingers clinging tightly onto the large glass in his hand.
"Here," he breathes out, reaching the glass towards her.
She takes it from his hands, tilting your chin up with her manicured fingers. "There you go, Y/n," she mumbles as you gulp down small sips of the liquid.
The music blares loudly throughout the large room, sweaty bodies packed tightly together. What you found exhilarating and exciting twenty minutes ago is now suffocating. It's the only thing you know as you barely stand on two feet amongst the crowd. If it weren't for Nat, you would be in a heap on the floor.
"Let's go." Natasha nods towards the exit, glancing over her shoulder as Peter trails shortly after.
You're barely awake, burrowing your face into the crook of her neck. Peter can smell the stale alcohol on your breath from where he walks just beside the two of you—fruity drinks and vodka and tequila and wine. It unnerves him to think that you might have ingested enough of the poison to make it dangerous.
The bitter night air is refreshing for anyone who's senses are at least partly alert. It's a blessing really, that tonight you only have the short walk from the party to your homes located just on the other side of the compound grounds.
The dewy grass is partially lit up by strobe lights placed along the lines of the premises, soaking Natasha's heels and Peter's loafers. Your bare arms prickle with the low temperature.
It feels like an awfully long journey for Peter as he walks along Natasha, halfway waking up enough from the haze to take on some of your weight as well. There's a thought or two of swinging you back home in just a few seconds, but there's not much for his web to hold onto out here. The anxiety creates shudders in his limbs and forces him to glance over to your figure every other second.
"She'll be fine, Peter," Natasha says without so much as sparing him a glance. "She's just drunk. It'll be over tomorrow."
But his anxiety doesn't ease, rightfully so, when your palm suddenly pushes against her chest with all the force you can muster in your state. You whine, sprawling your legs until they have no option but to release you.
"Wha—"
On your knees, bent over the small bushes meticulously trimmed by the nice gardeners, you throw your guts out with shudders wracking the whole of your body. Awful.
Natasha could have said 'I told you so', but people make dumb decisions while drunk and she already feels bad for you over what Jason did. "Oh, honey," she whispers to herself instead, taking a step forward to reach you.
But Peter's faster. Of course he is. The young man is kneeling down beside you, hand gently wrapping around your hair to pull it aside while the other rubs against your back.
Any other time, when alcohol isn't poisoning your blood, and you would have felt ashamed. You probably will be tomorrow. You would have reacted to Peter being the one to take care of you, especially after showing such irritation about your state earlier.
The grass is cold and wet against your knees, but it is a welcome relief from the heat plaguing your skin. You are almost certain there are tears making their way out of your eyes and you would positively murder someone for another glass of water.
Instead of gulping down another glass, like you want to, you close your eyes while breathing out deeply. The nausea slowly fades away with each second, the heat being replaced by dewy goosebumps on your skin, all the while clarity pushes itself past the alcohol-induced blur.
A raspy cough. A thick gulp, swallowing too much air at the same time but you force yourself to hold it in. "Did I just kiss someone?" you speak for the first time in an hour.
And Natasha nearly laughs, until she remembers the state you were in. You didn't kiss someone.
"No, Y/n," she says softly, glancing up at Peter with a hardened gaze that tells him to keep his mouth shut. "No, you didn't."
• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •
It's dark, empty of anyone who usually resides in the living room. The lights flickered on one by one, lighting up the space too much for your liking when you stepped inside. A whine was all it took for Peter to turn them off again.
You've been discarded on the couch, legs stretched out over Nat’s thighs with a cold, wet towel laying on your face. Peter sits fiddling with his fingers just beside your head. It's quiet—thankfully—even though you feel much better than before.
"What time is it?" you ask after what must have been ten minutes of complete silence.
"It's, uh, ten past one," Peter stutters out, like he's surprised by the sound of your voice. In reality he just reacts this way each time you speak, but the circumstances have chipped on his resolve. He can't hide his shivers behind a cool facade anymore.
"Happy Halloween," you croak out, earning a quiet chuckle from him. He checks his phone to see the date on top of the screen. 31st October, indeed.
Honestly, Peter has been some kind of obsessed with you since he was sixteen and visited the compound for the first time. You and Steve were walking on the trail slinging around the grounds, deep into solemn conversation.
Peter should have been listening to the endless list of security policy Happy was lining up for him, but he just couldn't tear his eyes off of you. Not because you were beautiful—you are, but he couldn't really see your face in detail from that far away—but because there was someone else his age in the same situation as him. Then he found out you were just Steve's adopted little sister and was a bit disappointed over your lack of involvement with the Avengers.
For weeks he tried to understand why you were in this century too and if Captain America had kept you secret for a reason. Peter was too nervous to actually talk to you until Tony shut him out of some team meeting and you were the only other one in the living room. He saw you everyday after that.
But now he's living hours away at university and he hates that it feels like you're drifting apart and everything is happening without him knowing. You drinking and being interested in men and men being interested in you. He tries to keep the contact up—texts you everyday and calls you and sends messages to Steve or Bucky if you don't answer. For the things you won't tell him, the things he can't see.
He was so excited for tonight. Chose the Indiana Jones costume because Harrison Ford is cool and sexy in those movies and surely you must think that too? And damn it, when he saw you sparkle and shimmer as you walked into the room with your wings fluttering he almost fell to the ground. It was fun as long as you were sober enough to actually talk to him.
Peter's spent the last hour and a half so goddamn mad at Natasha's boyfriend. And of course he is jealous, it should have been him you were dancing with like that, but that man took advantage of your vulnerable state. You could barely stand up, let alone actually protest or give your consent. Peter doesn't know if that was your first kiss or not, but regardless he's mighty glad he knocked the guy out.
You've gone quiet again, and he almost thinks you have fallen asleep, but you peek out from under the towel when the door you all came in through is thrown open. Heavy boots clank against the floor and a frown adorns Steve Rogers', or Fred from Scooby Doo for the night, face when he and his best friend barges inside. It doesn't take long for them to catch sight of the couch occupied by a wide-eyed Peter, stoic Natasha and still kind of drunk Y/n.
"You're going to be the death of me, young lady," Steve speaks up, letting out a deep sigh once he's close enough to tower over your figure.
He got a run-through of the events by a slightly dramatic Asgardian god and an infinitely more concerned Wanda a few minutes ago. You had gotten black-out drunk and found yourself grinding against some punk in the crowd. That was forgivable, even though Steve would much rather you didn’t at this age. Then that fucking jerk shoved his tongue down your throat despite you barely being able to form words. Yeah, Jackson or Jacob or whatever his name was had a talk with Bucky before the two of them rushed over here.
With his hands on his hips and a shake of his head, Steve stands there for a second before kneeling down. Bucky has his arms crossed a few feet away like he still hasn't really decided wether he's pissed or just feels sorry for you.
"You okay, Y/n?" Steve asks you, a little softer. His palm has come to feel your forehead, even though you doubt fever is a common symptom of being hungover.
Peter is paralyzed beside him. He’s quite sure Steve knows how completely infatuated he is with you. Mostly because Peter accidentally, somehow, sent a voice message meant for Ned to Bucky. He must have shared that by now. What should I wear? Y/n is going to be there. Han Solo? Does she even like brunettes? Is she into blondes? Oh god, I’m helpless.
"No," you mutter in answer to your brother’s question. "This sucks. Why didn't anyone tell me?"
Bucky snorts. "What did you even drink? Vodka?"
"No. I don't know. In the beginning it was just some screw-top rosé Peter's roommate brought," you tell him, scrunching your nose with the memory of the taste of it. "It tasted cheap."
"Oh, because you know things like that now, do you?" Bucky says, raising his eyebrows at you. "Can tell expensive wine from cheap-ass rosé?"
"Buck," Steve says before you even have the chance to answer. Chastises, maybe. "You're not 21 yet. Who gave all that alcohol to you?"
You turn your head away, pressing it into the pillow. Steve turns you back to him with a hand to your shoulder, giving you a pointed look that holds some level of amusement. He acts like God's righteous man, but he was a troublemaker in his youth. Tony would have a field day if he knew all the times Steve came home drunk at sixteen after drinking some musty home-made brandy.
"Peter?" Steve looks up at him when you choose not to answer, using alternative, dirty methods to get answers. Cheater. Your mouth falls open, looking over at both your brother and Peter with an offended glare.
The young man stutters, eyes glancing frantically between the two of you while trying to figure out who scares him the most. "I—uh, don't know. My roommate. Apparently. Natasha's boyf—ex?"
The playful tone dims into stern faces and clenched jaws as the villain of the evening is mentioned out loud. You're caught up deciphering the sudden switch in attitude for longer than you should have before solving the riddle. Natasha told you nothing happened, but unfortunately you have vague pictures of a man, her man, shoving his tongue into your mouth. Oh god.
You sink even further into the couch, if that's possible, shielding yourself from the undoubtably judgemental gazes shared in the room. Natasha's boyfriend cheated with you and you didn't even say anything.
"Don't hide from us, sweetheart," Steve says, brushing hair away from your face. "Hey, it's not your fault. That punk took advantage of you. You weren't in your right mind."
Your dickhead of a brother knows you too well. Can tell with just a glance when you're overthinking and analyzing and blaming yourself for problems that have nothing to do with you from the beginning.
"Calm down, birdie,” Nat says softly, earning your attention even though you want to crawl out of your skin. “That's not a conscious decision, when you're drunk like that. It wasn't your fault in the least. Fourty minutes ago you couldn't even stand straight.”
"I'm really sorry, Nat," you say, eyes flickering down to your legs draped over her lap.
"Stop it. That fucking dickhead thought it would be a good idea to tell me he wanted to have a threesome with you. I told him to stay away from you and leave, but he obviously didn't. Probably just to spite me."
"Threesome?" Steve chokes on his breath and the word comes out as more of a cough. He tightens his hold on your hand until you let out a wince, drawing a whispered ‘sorry’ from his lips.
“Me?” you breathe out, sitting up a little higher.
Peter pushes you down onto the pillow again not even a second later. He doesn’t want you to strain yourself. He’s also fucking pissed now because that man not only assaulted you, he also asked Natasha to have a threesome with you. A 19-year old.
“I’m sorry that he took advantage of you, Y/n. Not going to bring anymore of these assholes I keep dating.” Natasha sighs tiredly, letting her head fall back against the couch.
“That’s not your fault either, you know,” Bucky mutters, earning a pointed look from her that says more than her words can. A ‘thank you’ and ‘I know, dickhead’ simultaneously.
A comfortable silence spanning a dozen of seconds is shared between the five of you. It’s late and everyone is tired and what needed to be said has already been said. You’re fine after all and Natasha will be okay, if she isn’t already.
Peter shifts uncomfortably beside you, brushing against your hair and alerting you even more of his presence. He’s been so sweet to you tonight. He always has been. It guilts you now that you have taken his kindness for granted with time, but Peter cared for you the entire evening despite his teasing words.
You don’t know if it means something. Peter is good to everyone. And he has—MJ and him seem so close. They most likely spend all their time together now when they go the same college. Both geniuses. You don’t really have much to contribute except being the younger sister of America’s favorite hero and embarrassing yourself in a fairy costume on Halloween.
So you push the thought aside. Bury it deep and take in the rest of your surroundings. A quiet snort rests on your lips as you assess the brooding man who has finally seated himself down on an uncomfortable chair from the kitchen.
"Your costume is horrible, Bucky. You're not even dressed up,” you speak up, breaking the silence with a playful smile.
"Yes. I am," he mutters. "I have a mask."
"That does not count. You're wearing your normal clothes." You giggle while he rolls his eyes, earning a chuckle from you brother too. He’s glad to see you cheering up.
“What is considered a real costume then, sweets?” Bucky asks you, raising his eyebrows while pinpointing you with his ingenuine glare.
“I don’t know.” You look around, glancing over your brother’s attempt at a classic Fred, Natasha’s Dorothy, before landing on Indiana Jones. “Peter’s is good,” you mumble, heat spreading to your cheeks from nowhere. Why are you reacting this way?
“Yeah, sure lucky ‘bout that since he planned it all for you,” he mumbles under his breath. “Punk is head over heels.”
The breath escapes the two of you—you and Peter. Because Peter knows Bucky is right and you can’t believe what you just heard.
“What?” both you and Steve say simultaneously. Your brother has turned his entire body towards Peter.
You raise yourself up to a seat, glancing between Bucky and Peter. The latter’s eyes are wide open, lips parted. Guilty.
“Peter?” you ask him, so quietly he almost has to rely on the shape of your lips to hear what you said.
A clearing of his throat. Scratch on the back of his neck.
“Yeah, about that…”

Ok so finished watching Across The Spiderverse in theaters and here are my thoughts, under readmore so you guys won't get spoiled cause I'll mention plot shit
Nonspoiler review: these movies really are works of art, both visually and in sound. They draw on very relatable and powerful emotions of wanting to fit in, feeling like you belong, feeling like you're important, are you doing the right thing, are you living up to the expectations of others. These are the kinds of movies that could introduce people to the franchise and even if you're not into superheroes the emotion and visuals and writing itself is spectacular. Definitely a movie I could own and rewatch later
Now, here's my takes with more spoilers
-Miguel is actually so snarky and sassy. He is 100% done the entire movie and he's sarcastic or condescending almost every time he opens his mouth. He has a sense of humor it's just more mean spirited lmao "well you're gonna have to shut up and trust me" saying "how wonderful" sarcastically to Miles, being all "spiderverse? No thats dumb, its called the Arachnid poly multiverse, which, I guess sounds just as dumb"
-seeing him on the big screen really was like wow. He could be go from being sort of a dork to being so imposing and threatening, like, there was a small part where he steps closer to Miles as a silent intimidating gesture because hes so much taller, he could be so stone faced and cold when things got serious when Miles wasnt taking his warnings, but initially he was trying to be more compassionate, just, mwah, definitely going to help with any writing endeavors and characterizations of this man
-just seeing how the wristwatches and "daypasses" work is useful for any fanfic ideas I'm having ;) but holy shit you could just glitch until you die? I much prefer the concept of "Reader somehow whether being a mutant or an anomaly or just lucky gets transported to other dimensions instead or just back home"
-God just. Gwen's opening was amazing I don't even know how to describe it. When she's recounting her past and she's starting to talk about Miles while she's playing the drums and her drum playing keeps getting more and more intense, her music angry and frustrated and powerful as she keeps saying "and he's not the only one", speaking of his pain and isolation and how she feels connected to him, just, the way these movies write relationships between people and emotions is so human
-Spider Cat my beloved. LEGO Spiderman my beloved. Plushie Spiderman my beloved. Sun Spider is a fancharacter and got a speaking role. The thick, plus size, and fat spiders. Just the variety. It really is fun to imagine a Spidersona and feel represented kwim
-Jesus the intro to Mumbattan was insane. The way these movies constantly have you flying and falling through the air and falling through multiple levels and layers as objects whiz by, the music, the choreography. Just. The visuals and music the entire movie was insane
-HOBIE! definitely a fucking star. He's smart enough to build his own watch dude!! Love that guy. Definitely see him being in some stuff of mine as a helping hand if nothing else. Hobie helping Reader out during the YouTwo drama by offering you safe haven in his universe?
-I'm guessing Miguel has to give himself regular, spider nanomachine whatever injections? His powers kind of seem to have changed from his comic book a little bit. In the comics he has organic webs and was atomically spliced with spider dna but in the movie I think it's all technology idk? Correct me if im wrong, maybe they're red and glowing in the comics too 🤷‍♀️
-something something "smutty story where Miguel boyches a formula and turns himself into like a possessive horny borderline pure animal in heat and of course you're the lucky lady to stumble into him first"
-I got the bunny filter version of Lyla by the way!
Ugh this movie has me filled with so many emotions and also I snuck alcohol into the theaters and was on an edible gummy so I was FEELING this movie and just. Definitely two of my all time favorite movies

i wanna hear ur thoughts about kafka trailer aaaa
i need to gather them up a bit more coherently but
the focus is so hard on perfomance, from the cinematic term useage to curtain fall to how it's structured and rife with movie references.
but i think also a lot about how there's a sleight of hand happening right in front of us; the coin being flipped indicating a distraction. something else is happening right in front of us that she doesn't want us to see even as she lures us closer, beckoning us to see it
and. the spider visual imagery she's got going on, right. it's very in your face, we can't help but perceive that above all else. yet we got that butterfly pin. small. it seems out of place, in a way. it's so incongruent with the spider imagery that we as viewers discard it after a while because, well, it doesn't fit into the image we are constructing of who she is. but yet it is there. staring at us. reminding us that we are missing something. are you watching the coin or what she's doing with her other hand?
the title "dramatic irony", the use of vivaldi's winter, the title of her banner... mmm. formulating something
either way, dramatic irony of course in how the audience knows something the characters don't.
you could do so many space tragedy versions of the greek classics with her i know it i just do
not to mention AUs based on movies such as inception and literally whatever else she'd thrive and love contrivances such as those
the moment where she herself is vulnerable in the spider's web... i keep thinking about the moment we have seen her like that before and it's because she lured the astral express to come to the luofu, to the matrix of prescience. by the time you reach her at the center of the spider's web it's too late to get out
ok ok i think that's most of my thoughts for now. i could probably add another layer after tomorrow's quests drop.

Your Cherub choices for the Deadly Sins are interesting, would you mind explaining who is who? Some are obvious but for others it is confusing.
Totally!
A bit of preface: I based these cherub designs on the forms Lucifer took during his fight with Adam, so I was limited by that. Also, I’m obsessed with the rings of hell being color coded, so they’re also color coded lmao
(also what a great excuse to post the cherubs individually. Thanks!)
Satan: Sin of Wrath, Virtue of Patience
Tumblr media
Since we haven’t seen Satan yet, he’s a bit of a wild guess, but of the forms I had to choose from, I thought Horse fit him best. We know the Wrath Ring has a western/cowboy aesthetic, and we’ve heard Bee say he’s hot without a shirt on, which made me think of the phrase “hung like a horse.” 😅 Plus, I think horses are a great representation of the dichotomy of wrath/patience—it takes a lot of patience to keep one calm, and they can do a lot of damage when riled up.
Also, the icon for his app we’ve see kinda looks like a horse skull, so here’s that next to Bombproof as a comparison:
Tumblr media
(side note: for no other reason than Because I Can, I gave him the coat colors of Epona. Because orange. 😂😂)
Beelzebub: Sin of Gluttony, Virtue of Temperance
Tumblr media
Only at this moment do I realize Lucifer never took the form of a bee, but because we’ve seen multiple bee cherubs before it felt like a no-brainer. 😭😅 I made her the smallest of the cherubs because, as Temperance, I felt she should be the smallest/least of the virtues. I also headcanon that she’s the largest of all the sins physically, because why shouldn’t gluttony get to take up the most space lol. Also, while trying to adapt her more canine features into a bee cherub, I realized her shirt as a sin looks a bit like a bib as a cherub and I thought that was cute. :>
Mammon: Sin of Greed, Virtue of Charity
Tumblr media
I know there’s a ton of debate about what Mammon’s true demon for is (whether of not he’s a spider), but personally I think he’s a centipede. Also, apparently some male centipedes can spin a web, which is cool. But as a visual metaphor, I think snake fits him really well. What better representation of charity than a creature that has no hands to hold on to things? And I would consider (within hellaverse lore), Lucifer giving Eve the apple an act of charity. Also, once banished to Hell, he’d sprout arms with which to grab lol.
I would also like to point out that I think his design is partially based on the sandworm from Beetlejuice, as a nod/inside joke to Fizz’s voice actor playing the broadway version of the character.
Tumblr media
(Sources: https://www.deviantart.com/highvoltage-art/art/Sandworm-Beetlejuice-891922450 and https://sinnawii.tumblr.com/post/732544584927870976/caught-trapped-in-his-web )
Asmodeus: Sin of Lust, Virtue of Chastity
Tumblr media
Alright alright—I know Ozzie’s extra heads are *technically* a ram and a bull, but I chose to base him on a goat. They’re all hooved animals. So…tomato, tomato. 😅 I also sorta liked the idea of “chastity” being a sort of “completeness” in heaven, which is why he has both sets of horns (like demon goats are sometimes depicted as). I imagine once fallen, there’d be a sort of…splitting, or ripping effect, creating the torn face in between, forever separating the two sides and creating the desire to “reconnect” them. (Yes I think Ozzie has every bit. All the bits. It’d seem silly not to lol)
Tumblr media
Leviathan: Sin of Envy, Virtue of Kindness
Tumblr media
Given that we’ve never seen Leviathan, and the Von Eldritch family is probably not Leviathan, I have very little to go on other than: a) ocean. octopus. b) virtue of kindness = many arms to hug with. 😅
(I’m really hoping Levi ends up being Cthulhu. Just. A Captain Davy Jones mf with an octopus for a head lmao)
Belphegor: Sin of Sloth, Virtue of Diligence
Tumblr media
SHE’S A NIGHTINGALE. GET IT? FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE, FIRST LADY OF NURSING? BUT BIRD? 😂😂
Tumblr media
Aight, but for real, I think it’s either confirmed or heavily implied that the baphotmet hellborn (the goats w candles on their heads) are native to Sloth, and I think that’s a really funny pun about “burning the candle at both ends” as a representation of Diligence morphing into a melting candle with excessive wax buildup. That sounds random, but I originally intended to draw Bel with a candle. But that…clearly didn’t happen. But I felt it was important to know. 😅 Also I envision cherub Bel was being that hyped up on caffeine, doesn’t sleep more than 2 hours, assistant that’s always on top of everything. The divine scheduler of heaven. 😂 And once fallen, her scheduling scroll burns to ash and she can finally relax. 😌
All in all,
I had in mind that all the cherubs actually enjoyed becoming demons, that they were finally able to shake off the constrictive and stifling demands of heaven and just get to be themselves. We’ve already seen that becoming demons didn’t make all of them shitty people (or at least, there was probably a learning curve that some/most of them conquered), because most cardinal sins on their own aren’t inherently selfish. Mammon almost by definition is selfish, which is why he sucks so much, and based on the pre-series lore Viv has mentioned about the Von Eldritch family, I think Leviathan is going to be a shitty or at least very toxic person, but I think Satan is going to have similar character traits as Tom from svtfoe. Like he has a short fuse, but he also does the workout app, so he’s clearly trying to channel that rage into constructive outlets lol.

sometimes I mix up MH (Monster High) with MHA (My Hero Academia) so I decided to make a crossover AU between them
Alrighg, so I’ll just start with some very basic info, all of the MHA kids go to Monster High, although I think the ghouls and monsters going to UA would also be cool and I guess that could be some other AU, also don't ask me if I'll be using the G1 or G3 Monster High lore, because not even I know. Also, as for the character designs, monster high doesn't have a uniform so I’ll put the characters in their casual clothes but add elements of their hero costumes to give it a more monster high energy
• it was a little hard to think of what kind of Monster Aoyama would be since I wanted to maintain some variation of their quirks, and there aren't really any monsters that shoot lasers out of their stomach, so I decided to make him a cyborg, plus I think it would be cool if the armour and giant shades of his hero costume were part of his body
• Mina is just a straight-up alien, I mean she originally wanted her hero name to be Alien Queen, so it makes sense.
• Tsuyu is a Loveland Frogperson, of you don't know what that is, it's an American cryptid that's basically just a human-sized frog that walks on it's hind legs, so it's perfect for Tsu
• I decided to make Uraraka a ghost because not only would gravity perpetually not apply to her, but she would also have telekinesis and so, she could make gravity not apply to other things/people, which fits with both uses of her quirk
• Ojiro would basically not change at all, but I haven't really decided what specific kind of monster he would be, considering his quirk is literally just that he has a tail, IDK I'll have to get back to him
• Iida would be a steam-powered robot like Robbecca Steam, I thought of this because of the engines on his calves lol
• Kirishima would be a rock elemental, that feels really obvious
• Kaminari would be a Frankenstein's Monster like Frankie, because electricity
• I'm not really sure what species Koda would be, but then I remembered Jane Boolittle who can also talk to animals and whose species is ALSO unknown, so I thought "Eh, it's fine if I don't know because neither does Koji"
• I have no clue what Sato's species would be lol, I might have to get back to him too
• Mezo Shouji is pretty obvious, anthro octopus, maybe also like, part shapeshifter to explain how he can grow extra eyes and mouths at the ends of his limbs, maybe he's even related to Tamaki in this AU
• Jirou is a vampire, but I'm specifically more focused on the bat part than the undead part or the blood drinking part, my reason being that bats have really great hearing and can use ecolocation, plus I just want her to have really big bat ears with dangly chain earrings to stand in for her earphone jacks
• Since Sero's tape power is already supposed to be based on Spiderman's web-slinging, I've decided to make him an anthropomorphic spider like Wydonna
• Tokoyami is a bird man, not much about that changes, but as for how Dark Shadow exists, he's actually Tokoyami's twin who he absorbed in the womb (egg?) And now is sort of a ghost but was also never really alive to begin with? IDK I've seen this premise used in some Danny Phantom AUs and I couldn’t really think of any other way for Dark Shadow to exist
• Todoroki will be an anthropomorphic salamander because not only are there myths of Salamanders being birthed from flames, but there is also a real world salamander species that can turn its own blood into an antifreeze substance so that it can safely hibernate in the winter, IT’S JUST TOO PERFECT!!!
•literally nothing changes about Hagakure
• Bakugou is an anthropomorphic dragon, I know that doesn't really relate to explosions specifically but I wasn’t sure what else to do and breathing fire seemed close enough
• for Deku I was originally gonna make him human, but I thought of something infinitely funnier; he's half merman half centaur and inherited the human half from both of his parents
• I had a hard time coming up with something for Momo, but my friend suggested to make her a Demon because demons can create stuff out of thin air sometimes (and NO, her creations will not be coming out of her boobs in this AU, I am well aware of how often both demons and Momo Yaoyorozu are sexualized and I don't want to do that here, she'll just use her horns to make stuff)
• Shinsou as a siren feels like the most natural creature for him to be, especially since not only is he using a power that comes from his voice to make people do things they normally wouldn't, but sirens are typically seen as the evil counterpart to mermaids, much like how everyone perceives Shinsou's quirk as inherently villainous, so it fits really perfectly

tma x oc's cards, finally
after many days of boredom in class it is complete, the full the magnus archives fear entities x my oc's cards! some of these are a definite stretch with how they associate with the fear but hey, its cool and finally done. mostly done in class, enjoy these blurbs of context, not in any particular order:
Elliot O'Rourke: The Dark
One of the oldest fears, the dark has always been fascinating. Its mysteriousness in what it could hide, or simply just the lack of light, has been a topic of fascination for her for as long as she could remember. What could hide in there? Who could hide in there? What is darkness, exactly? All these questions craved answers, and what better way to get them by becoming one with the darkness?
Micah Lycan: The Buried
The warm embrace of cramped spaces, being hugged by your surroundings, acts almost like a blanket from the outside. The ability to wield a forcefield allows him to enter such spaces without fear of his surroundings collapsing on him, but after finding comfort in the compression he learns he doesn’t need such protections. Being in a place that gives a hug that well just makes him sleepy, as if he could fall asleep in its embrace at any time.
Marshall Woods: The Vast
Anywhere but here is where he wanted to be, and having the ability to manipulate the sky’s air as he sees fit makes him feel closer to the emptiness of sky blue as ever before. He wishes to show others the sereneness of the open, and cant help but find a little fun in doing so. What’s the harm in increasing the breeze just enough to where you feel dizzy with vertigo, eventually making you fall off his precious sky island? It's alright though, the Vast will catch you.
Kima Makarov: The Flesh
Being affiliated with such a fear seems almost ironic as a healer, but her connections lie in how her healing works. When you have a cut, she uses her patron’s mobility to move the flesh around the cut to fuse the torn flesh together, creating an almost perfectly sealed wound. She only asks for you to freak out a little more than you already have by seeing your damaged flesh move about unnaturally as a payment.
Leona von Orii: The Lonely
As the youngest of four siblings, she feels like she has to put her own feelings aside for the sake of others. Being a part of a notorious thieves guild doesn’t help too much either; all you do has to be for the collective, nothing for yourself. This guild prioritized those who had ties to the supernatural, such as her mutant sister, so even when it came to her own family she felt subpar. The one time she was trusted with leading a mission, she got herself and her sister caught. Loss after loss affects you. In the place she was locked up in before her rehabilitation, she had plenty of time to reflect. What else did she have to lose now? Beaten to submission, she now finds loyalty with the Lonely, to have others feel what she felt to feed and repay her patron, who acted more as a supporter than anyone else in her life.
Raquel von Orii: The Web
As a mutant, all she knows is who she isn't. A spider monster fusion which upon completion of the transformation gave her some otherworldly violet eyes that should not exist here, but it also gave her a sense of connection to almost everything around her, especially how locations connect to each other. Sometimes, she wonders what it would be like if she wasn’t ever a mutant, never had creature DNA fused with her own, but sometimes she remembers that’s all she knows. Everything she did in life happened because of that one key moment, and why not embrace the spidery side of her by putting her loyalties to the Web, where she can learn to utilize the connections she feels? It even feels like she was born for this; it seems too perfect.
Minu Kanara: The Hunt
The thrill of the chase is what keeps her employed. As a member of a prestigious bloodline, reputation is all she has. Why not use it for a cause? Becoming a royal guard was no easy feat, but hey, you can’t help but relish the feeling you get for chasing after a criminal with such a title as yours.
Maxine Clemace: The Spiral
Having the ability to mess with a short period of time as you see fit already has moral issues, but it causes quite the mess mentally too. When you could have sworn you saw that person behind you a second ago, just to glance over and see them in front of you right now, how did they get there? Was it your eyes playing tricks on you, or was it that, somehow, time itself stopped for that one person? You have no idea for how long, and what they did while time is stopped, but you hope that assumption is false, that your eyes are just playing tricks on you. No one should ever have the ability to mess with literal time, or else all you know would be false, right?
Axon Makaia: The End
He has a very interesting relationship with death. He was born on a small island, with a small family, just them against the world. As his mother became sicker and sicker, his family became more distant, afraid they’ll catch what she has and succumb to their inevitable fate sooner, like her. He wondered if this trail of death is what is really against them in the world. He wondered how it would feel to rest like them, to end, to end this cycle of death while, ironically, feeding into it more. Perhaps it would be for the better.
Eramana Maar: The Slaughter
Being an avid dimension traveler means you see the best and worst of both worlds, the hellish landscape may repulse other visitors, but that is what she liked about it. The calmer weather in the other dimension made it the main one, but it attracted a lot of attention. When the hellish landscape receives more attention than it wants, things can get messy, like the hiring of mercenaries to keep it civil. She couldn’t help having heritage from both locations, but she used both for a cause, to keep the primordial balance between what belongs in one world versus what belongs in the other.
Austin County: The Eye
Mind reading opens so many doors to knowledge. Who cares about breaching privacy or other morals in order to hear the deepest thoughts and secrets of others? Having the mind be as open as hers makes one wonder how far she is willing to go to fill its open spaces, even if it means using morally questionable methods of doing so.
Katelyn Lawrence: The Corruption
There’s something comforting about knowing you share blindness with others, even if they fall outside of your species. You don’t always need eyes to see, the presence of others can be good enough guidance already, even if those others are insects.
Melissa Steilahn: The Desolation
When you have been touched by violence since childhood, there will always be some sort of deeper rage desperately trying to crawl out. When the manifestation of fire abilities came early, for example, how else did you expect to use them? By showing others the same pain you were forced to feel as a child, of course, as a sort of revenge. How was it fair that you felt the worst pain of your life, while everyone else was comfortable? It simply isn't fair.
Chase Woods: The Stranger
Despite having airborne abilities like her brother, she was never one to flaunt them. In fact, she loved using them for deception. Her favorite pastime was seeing how many people she could fool into thinking the mannequin behind them was the source of a gust of wind, or perhaps a whisper that felt like one. Sometimes she will think too hard about the almost human, uncanny nature of them and think how easy it would be for them to be human, if only for the alteration of a few traits. Perhaps, with her new loyalty, she can make that happen. Besides, what’s the difference between a mannequin and a human if both move and act alive?

Okay. I talked a bit of the live action Monster High designs, and now we have our first looks at the new animated series looks. Let's go in to them.
And I'm gonna be more positive about these ones. Mostly because they look better then the live action designs. And I'm tired of being negative about everything.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gabrielle Nevaeh Green (That Girl Lay Lay) as Clawdeen Wolf – Half-human and half-werewolf, Clawdeen is thrilled to join Monster High, despite the challenge of being a half-monster in a school of full-monster students.
Okay. Let's start with Clawdeen. Half human, Half werewolf. So 75% human and 25% wolf. Yet this is the most Wolf like Clawdeen has ever looked. Changes to her character aside, I do love her nose and ears. If only she had a tail and the design would be almost perfect. But the changes to her personality still keep her down.
Overall, I'm giving this a 7/10. There's really nothing wrong with it. I'm just not a fan of the new personality. And the dumb half human thing. That doesn't make sense.
Courtney Lin (Crash: The Animated Series) as Draculaura – The daughter of Dracula, vampire Draculaura seems like the perfect dictionary definition of a monster. But she hides a deep desire to become a witch, which is strictly forbidden in the monster world.
Farewell to Debi Derryberry's iconic performance as Draculaura. You will be missed.
Still not the biggest fan of the two-tone hair. But this does look better then the live action. I also love her hat. It keeps her protected from the sun as a vampire, and the spider web pattern? Love it. Still iffy on the Witch thing. Maybe if it was just a taboo for vampires specifically to become witches, because of some sort of feud maybe, it would work better.
6.5/10. Could use more black in her color scheme.
Tumblr media
Iris Menas (West Side Story) as Frankie Stein – Brought to life just 15 days ago by their scientist parents, Frankie is figuring out who they are and who they want to be.
Frankie is still the best part of this entire reboot. They're just, so much better then their original counterpart. Yeah i said it. OG Frankie was bland. Her personality trait was that she kept getting a new boyfriend every 5 minutes.
Design wise they look pretty good. But their color scheme is a bit of a mess. Bright blues, that yellowy green, neon pink. It's a lot but at the same time it does fit Frankie. Of course the person that's still figuring themselves out has an uncoordinated color scheme.
8/10.
Tumblr media
Tony Revolori (Spider-Man: No Way Home) as Deuce Gorgon – The son of Medusa and Lyra, Deuce is often influenced by the snakes that live on his head and get him into trouble.
I'm gonna say it. Deuce looks the best out of all of them. Take notes live action. Scales! Scales on his clothes. Not camo. And actual sunglasses! And he has snakes! Actual snakes! And they're so expressive! I can see them getting Deuce in trouble. Also I need Deuce to have a bad hair day that's just the snakes fighting each other.
But who is Lyra? I don't know enough about Greek mythology to know who that is. Until I know, I'm just imagining Lyra Heartstrings from MLP.
9/10. It would be 10/10 if he didn't have sleeves.
Tumblr media
Kausar Mohammed (Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous) as Cleo De Nile – Cleo is a mummy monster who knows she is destined for greatness--if only everyone else would just admit it and get out of her way.
She actually has dark skin. Wow. Didn't know they had it in them. And wrappings. She's an actual mummy. Not just an Egyptian girl.
Though there's something off. That blue. It is her blue. But in the original it was more of an accent. Here it dominates her design. And there's barely any gold in her hair. I'm not so sure about this design.
5/10.
Tumblr media
Alexander Polinsky (Blaze and the Monster Machines) as Heath Burns – Temperamental and passionate as the son of Hades would be, Heath is quite literally a hot head who can get worked up over anything and is prone to fiery outbursts.
If you don't have anything nice to say. Don't say anything at all. So let's keep this short.
No.
Let's make it longer.
Why?! What did they do to him?!
Okay, there's a simple fix. Either make his hair more red or, (can't believe I'm saying this) lighten his skin to be more pale yellow. Make a better separation between his head and his hair. That way it looks more like Heath, and less like Bart Simpson on fire.
And Hades?! What? Did they didn't do their research? Did they only watch the Disney version? Fire isn't Hades' element! It's earth! (If I remember correctly) and if he's the son of Hades, where did his last name come from?
And the Hothead personality. Really? That wasn't the pun with Heath's original personality. He was a Wannabe Hotshot! Not Hothead! If they wanna give Deuce a best friend, connect him to Greek mythology and have him be a Hothead, Manny Tuar would be a much better choice!
-5/10.
Tumblr media
Valeria Rodriguez (To Your Eternity) as Lagoona Blue – Having grown up in an ancient underwater Mayan Castillo with her ocean nymph mother and sea monster father, sweet yet ferocious Lagoona doesn't know much about life on land.
General consensus about Lagoona is that the design is good, and the personality is fun. But it's not Lagoona Blue. She's not even blue! From here on out, we will not be referring to her as Lagoona. This, is Lulu.
So Lulu looks fun. Her design is pretty good for a sea monster. And it's interesting that of all the things to keep from the original is her status as Hybrid between a Nymph and a Sea Monster.
So Lulu gets a 6/10. Lagoona gets a 1/10.
Tumblr media
Alexa Kahn (Madagascar: A Little Wild) as Toralei Stripe – hailing from an elite monster family, Toralei is a werecat and the "bad girl" at Monster High. Old fashioned and brave, Toralei is committed to her cause of preserving monster society.
So Toralei is back. Nice surprise. Especially since she got spared from the Live Action treatment.
I don't hate this design. But there's some ways to improve her. First, change the purple to black. Second, her orange seems to lean towards yellow instead of red. Just slide her orange hue just a bit to red and she'd be great.
8/10.
Tumblr media
Debra Wilson (Baby Shark's Big Show!) as Headmistress Bloodgood – The headless overseer of the school, Headmistress Bloodgood has a proclivity for wandering around at night to keep an eye on the students.
Was the picture of Debra Wilson staring into my soul necessary? They couldn't pick a different picture? This doesn't flatter her.
Anyway, Bloodgood. Well she's certainly not Bloodbad. She looks great. Still wish her color scheme was a bit darker though. And was so hard for the live action to have the same belt as this one? Why did go with a boring ribbon? This looks way better!
9/10.
And that's it. That's all we know. Seems Abbey and Ghoulia are sidelined once again. Clawd and Howleen still don't exist. At least, not as Clawdeen's siblings. And there was a leak of what dolls are coming and Twyla was on it. So we can expect to see her.
I'm cautiously optimistic about all this. It looks better then the movie, though thats not a high bar to reach.
We'll just have to see what happens.

Had some thoughts about this post, and came up with a few ideas for what the parody trio might be like. Feel free to disregard if you've already got stuff for them figured out on your end.
Alyssa's parody is Lydia the Storyweaver. Storyweavers are spider-like cosmic entities that spin the literal strings of fate into webs, then feast on the energy of those who get ensnared in the narrative. They're also able to create characters to fit into their stories in whatever role may be needed, and Lydia's favorites by far are the twin villains she created for the story that resulted in the extinction of the Star Neons. Not because of the fact that they did that, just because she let herself get attached. So, she elevated them up to her level to act as her assistants, which violated the Laws of the Storyweavers and got her banished from wherever it is Storyweavers are from. The three of them see each other as a family...albeit a highly dysfunctional one, because even though Lydia genuinely loves her kids and really is trying to be a good mom She Really Should Not Be A Parent.
Also she's super thin with long, spindly limbs, partly Because Spider Person but mostly as a dig at Alyssa's current appearance because Jayin would absolutely Go There.
For the Twins' parodies, I snatched up their scrapped names, Spirit and Radiant, with the justification that both sets of twins are recycled concepts from an old scrapped game idea from before Jayin went control freak and Alyssa got booted, and the Celestial Twins got new names while the Parody Twins got the old placeholders.
Spirit has power over Darkness and Death, while Radiant has power over Light and Life. They both used to be Star Neons but between the events of their story and their elevation into cosmic beings they've become almost completely unrecognizable from what they once were. Not that they mind much, since they don't really remember their old lives all that well. Visually, they're both basically genderbent (to make it less obvious who they're based on), vaguely feline versions of the Twins.
For Spirit, Jayin took Tartarus's Trinity-related antics and ran with it, turning her into a wannabe Casanova who flirts with anything that moves, and also a bit flighty. Interestingly, thanks to her powers she actually runs cold unlike most Programs.
Meanwhile Radiant's an absolute Blood Knight. She will fight anyone, anytime, at the slightest provocation, and have the biggest, brightest, most...well, radiant... smile on her face the whole time. In contrast, she also really enjoys reading, so depending on when you encounter her she'll either be tearing through a battlefield while covered in other people's blood and giggling like a schoolgirl or curled up all warm and cozy and lost in a book, with no in-between.
Jayin's probably going to regret giving the three of them such extreme personalities and over-the-top powers once they inevitably start coming to life, because they seem like they'd be significantly less likely to take her bullshit lying down than her other victims.
I was actually really struggling with coming up with parodies, so these guys are great!! I love how they're all twisted versions of the originals, yet there's just enough of the original there to make those in the know go, "wait, are those based off of..?"
But I really love the dig at Alyssa's appearance with Lydia because that would no doubt absolutely kill her. She's definitely self-conscious of her current look, and seeing Jayin drag her through the mud like that would probably hurt bad.

Chapter Three:
The two arrive, slightly tenser, in a small town in the northern part of the Goldlands
It’s called Millheart, it is positively FULL of windmills, and it’s surrounded by large hills
A few caves rim the town, just because it’s getting a little close to the Stonelands
Some asking around the town is required to find out about what the seer was talking about
It seems that the general consensus is that there’s something amiss in the cave north of town, so it’s safe to say that that’s where The Thing might be
However, the townsfolk are all being like. Real cagey about it. Hard to say why
Eventually the two reach the cave in question, which by all accounts looks like a perfectly ordinary cave
However, as they approach, a villager in armour stops them, saying that they can’t go in and that “they’re not going to lose any more people to that thing”
Praem insists that they are going to enter that cave whether this guy likes it or not
Blades are drawn, and there’s a mandatory Challenge section (because I had to incorporate one somehow and there’s no way I’ll be able to fit one in chapters 4 or 5, trust me)
The two clean the guy up a bit and put him in a safe place but then swiftly move on into…
The Third Dungeon: Infested Cavern
Hey just heads up this is gonna be tagged with bug and spider content warnings in the post form but if you are tumblr user beantothemax reading this from your askbox. Be warned. There are a lot of creepy-crawlies ahead.
Anyway it is extremely obvious what the boss is going to be as soon as you enter the dungeon
Cobwebs are EVERYWHERE and they are BIG
A few sections of it are fully just spider webs suspended over open chasms that you have to painstakingly walk over
The enemies? You guessed it: spiders.
I don’t think there’ll be any puzzle-type sections in this one, though
So it’s mostly just exploration through this creepy cavern
Eventually Praem comes to a large cavity in the cave, at the centre of which lies a bigass spider web
Like this is clearly the head honcho right here
Troublingly enough, however, the wall BEHIND the spider web has some carving on it that’s difficult to make out with the web in the way
Praem and Ekaterina get to work clearing the web
Ekaterina needs to borrow a sword for this because she’s a fencer, so Praem ends up using the dagger that the seer gave her
LOTS of thoughts in her brain about that one
Her ability has never steered her wrong before
In fact, it’s been incredibly accurate about most everything
There’s no way to escape the fact that it’s right
She has seen what’s going to happen
She can’t escape it and
These thoughts are so rudely interrupted by (no points for guessing what comes next) a vision! Just a quick one this time like what happens during battle tho
There’s something overhead. She needs to push Ekaterina out of the way because it’s about to get both of them
She quickly sheaths the dagger and dives into her ally, getting both of them out of the way to look up and see…
The Third Boss: The Great Web-Spinner
This one’s just a real big spider
I think it’s a bit of a shame that the warriors truly get a non-human boss to fight (Olberic fights the Lizardman Chief, yes, but also fights Erhardt in the same chapter), so I’m being the change I wish to see in this world
Enters the fray with one Arachnid Lieutenant, which in turn is able to hold its own decently well, but the main event is the big ‘un
The main gimmick of the fight is effects that progress as time goes on
As its first action, the GWS always uses an attack that lowers the party’s speed
The next party member to take a hit from an attack will be afflicted with some kind of custom debuff
The custom status gradually reduces attack and speed by small increments, and when it reaches a certain turn count (5-10), the afflicted member will lose mobility altogether
It can be removed, but only if no other debuffs/afflictions are present on the ally
So if the speed debuff is still there, you can’t get rid of it, but if you run down the clock on that, you can
Other than that, the Great Web-Spinner is gonna try and poison the party members one at a time, and the Arachnid Lieutenant is going to try and inflict blindness
This boss is mostly here because Praem’s final boss was originally going to be a giant spider and I wanted that idea to live on somehow, so here we are
The fight closes, and the two are able to resume work on clearly the web
Before they start, Ekaterina cuts off the spider’s head and stashes it in her bag, saying that they’ll be able to show the townsfolk to let them know that the cave is a little safer now
Cut to a montage of the two getting rid of the webs
Eventually, the full thing is uncovered, revealing a few things
One: an enormous crevasse, splitting in a Y shape
Two, a waterfall surrounded by stalagmites, with something just visible behind it
Three, a stone efface in a similar shape to the thing behind the waterfall, marked with a symbol of an eye
The same symbol of an eye as the dagger
And that’s the same waterfall as the…
Cut back to Praem’s vision for the second time (forgot to mention but it cuts back to the vision when she gets the dagger) as a flashback, this time to the footsteps on wet stone, and the waterfall
She’s going there
They are going there
She is leading Ekaterina to the place where she will kill her
Praem is again somehow able to maintain her composure but she is shaken by this in her internal monologue
Ekaterina seems to ignore this, and points out where this place might be
It features very prominently on the game’s world map, and is located in the northeastern part of the Stonelands
The two leave the cave, are able to present the spider head to the townsfolk, and then it’s time to head for the cave where it will happen.
the entire web spinner fight sounded SO cool,,,,,,,, i am in fact not immune to large bugs
Tumblr media
also i know we're in the certified Scary Zone for this chapter but the term 'arachnid lieutenant' is very funny to me. i'm just imagining a spider with a lil army general hat with a bunch of spider badges of honor on its spider vest. sorry what was that about a waterfall i got distracted
the fact that we know what's gonna happen in that waterfall cave and with that dagger since the first chapter with praem's visions and everything slowly building up to it is. GAH. its got me extremely intrigued and also scared... we know what's gonna happen but i feel like that's not gonna make it hurt any less. iris have i mentioned how good of a storyteller you are
