There it was. The giddy reaction, the excitement and her actually doing something he'd been trying to goad and encourage her into doing since day one. She'd expected it; it was Funfred's normal. Literally his hyperfixation in more ways than one.

No, this was expected, she never expected an ounce of comfort from anyone she knew. People who surrounded themselves with the crowds she did? They didn't get comfort. That was a privilege very rarely earned nowadays. It made her miss her mom even more.

What she doesn't expect is her animatronic friend... actually giving pause and toning it down for a moment. Actually coming down to her level for once. Anyone else in her situation would have broke from that alone, but she couldn't allow that.

Instead there's a small flinch at being jostled and a half smile (Why was she smiling? She felt HORRIBLE about what she had done!), just for a moment. He was going to turn this into an even bigger celebration in a moment, might as well let him get his excitement out.

"It wasn't just a maiming... They are dead..." That's when the smile fades again. "I saw the hole I made, myself... No one, organic or inorganic, could have survived something like what I did." Not that she knew anyhow. Maybe N could have survived it. N Definitely could survive it.

Fortunately, she hadn't shot him and had no plans to. "...How did you handle your first... Is... Is it normal to be so scared about it...?"

💜 Another thing that I needed to post separately for tagging reasons:

Melody's synthetic flesh operates a lot like skin, it can mend itself and scar but takes time to "naturally heal." This means in emergency situations where she needed that added layer of protection, she will deliberately cut it away from areas where the holes won't be seen and use that to patch existing damage.

This hurts a lot due to the synthetic nerves in the flesh yeah, but she finds it worth it to keep herself functional until proper repairs can be made to her body.
