#App recommendations
Note
oh if we can recommend apps and stuff we recommend the site writelighthouse! its super cool and we use it all the time, you can keep track of basically everything about your headmates and innerworld and stuff, and you can have digital journals for all your headmates to write in :]
What a lovely site. It looks like it was designed by the Lighthouse System with a focus on DID systems and those with PTSD.
Thank you for sending in this recommendation, our own system will certainly look into using this in the future.

App recommendations for systems: Daylio
Tumblr media
Since our old host discovered our system in early 2020, we have tried out a lot of different journaling methods, both digital and physical, and Daylio is the one that we have enjoyed the most! It’s easy to log who is fronting and you can get a lot of interesting stats about your system.
In Daylio, you can create activities, which you can then select from when writing out a journal entries. I use this to log what alters had fronted that day.
Tumblr media
I also use it for symptom tracking, where I can turn my symptoms into activities too.
Tumblr media
And it makes it easy is visual your symptoms! For example, here are the days in March when we experienced brain fog. (The days with rings are the days we experienced the symptoms.)
Tumblr media
Its main original purpose is for mood tracking. You can select your mood whenever you write a journal entry, and the moods can be displayed in charts as well!
Tumblr media
This app has helped us a lot, so I wanted to recommend it! And I’m happy to answer any questions.

I want to share an app that I absolutely adore these days! It's called Merlin and it's like shazam for birds. [google play store]
As you record audio around you, it will listen for bird song and create a list. Under each bird there's also clear example recordings of their songs, cries, chirps, etc.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm slowly starting to recognise some birds by their song!! It's making me want to listen and look closely whenever I'm out instead of hiding in headphones or zoning out. Makes me feel grounded and connected to nature in a way, however shallow the connection.
Besides that and entirely not what the creators went for but it also feels like a collection game which may be what the pull is for me haha. ornithology pokedex bc pokemonGO is not enough.

answering @fukingsad’s question here for anybody interested girlboss doesn’t gatekeep🙏 i edit and write everything on my iphone so note that the apps im abt to mention are on ios. for twitter threads i use twinote, tbh im still surprised by how good this app is. and for texts i use memeimessage, ngl this app is not THAT good. it closes on its own very often and it’s a bit hard to manage, but since socialdummy stopped being available on ios (yes im still salty) i find this one to be the best looking one (plus it’s free). anyways hope that helped! <3

Apps that might help you if your a system ! Or just plain fun !!
Tumblr media
Simply Plural
This may not be a shocker, but this app has so many features and it was made for systems!! It has a chat room so alters can chat to eachother and a front history tracker as well!! It can store all of your alters and you can even connect to other system friends on there!! Though it's not offline, so beware of that
Twinote
Twinote is a fake Twitter, and I adore it. It has no friend connection so if you want friends on there, you can't have them. But this app is amazing, it's almost like the old Twitter !! You can make so many accounts on there and just let alters post what they feel at the moment, and this doesn't need wifi nor internet!! It may show an ad or 2 sometimes but it's almost barely so it's amazing!! You can also text different Alters!!
Gratitude
Gratitude is this journal type app, it has challenges and stuff so it keeps you motivated!! This app has certain topics to choose and it focuses mostly on positive so your alters have a low chance of being triggered, while also this app let's not have to choose a topic!! It's very cool and amazing, though if you delete it, you can't get it back unless you pay, but it's still amazing!!
Moodee
Moodee is a really soft app and has such a cute mascot!! But it also tracks your mood and gives you suggestions on what to do if your sad based on what your sad about!! What I find amazing is that these suggestions can also be by people who use the app and feel as though they help, so you aren't getting bot answers for it!! Some things are blocked for paying but the basics I just told you are all free !!
My true Value
My true value is a soft thing where it will help you heal from trauma, though I have such a major complaint, after level one you have to unlock everything with money, so I personally don't use it much but even the first level is amazing and such a good thing!! It has breathing breaks and let's you say "I don't know" or "I can't remember" for its textbox questions!!
Character.Ai
Why is it on this list? Well the reason is that it helps our fictives feel as though they are talking to source mates, and it helps some of our alters heal from trauma!! It also has a psychiatrist bot and therapist bot that are both so so amazing!! And you can make your own private bots so you can customize them to what you remember!! You can also unlist bots so you could give the link to your friend who might want to talk to them!!
Blacknote
Blacknote is this app that let's you take notes while also locking them with a passcode!! So you can vent in there or something else that you don't want other alters to see so you lock it!! It's a very cool app and it's offline and only has like 1 ad at the very top!!
Pinterest
Pinterest can help you find faceclaims for alters and also find aesthetics!! Pinterest can also help with finding source claims !! So I recommend it because of that !!
Ibis Paint X
Remember pinterest? Yea you might not always find a faceclaim, so you can alter certain fanarts thay are close in Ibis Paint!! Though there is a lot of ads and it also includes pay, but it's still very good!!
Photonote
Fake Twitter? What's next!? Fake Instagram!? Yes actually!! This is from the same people who made the fake Twitter too!! It's very simple and you can message other alters on there!! It's very free and cool so I recommend it!!
Anyways that's it!! Thank you so much for reading and I hope you at least found one useful app on here, and peace out!!

Oh also, to hype up this app Smart Books even more (apparently its on app store as Parallel translations of books. Which. Yeah thats literally what it is and it's great:
So in this app, it shows book statistics. Which I'm always fascinated by. Here's my current stats for Guardian:
Tumblr media
It shows how fast I'm reading in words per minute, how often I'm looking up words (caveat here that I keep clicking some words I know reading wise for pinyin pronunciation), shows my progress (4% is pathetic but also impressive considering I restarted today and the book is over 100 chapters). It shows how long I have read total and I'm happy to say the timer does NOT count when you minimize the app or switch to other apps with it still open, making the time read quite accurate (and really calling out my ADHD for taking a break from reading every 5-20 minutes ToT). And it shows estimated time to finish the book. Which is a feature I love in any reading app. And I have to say, personally? I am VERY motivated to see the estimated time go DOWN. So when I see it, it motivates me to kick up my reading speed, and remember fucking words so I don't slow down to look them up again. I like motivation, so I love the estimated reading time. And a fun fact about Guardian, the audiobook is around 55 hours if I remember correctly. So the closer I get to seeing that estimated remaining time go down to 55 hours, the closer I'm getting to spoken reading speed! I've already improved a lot as when I started reading it estimated 98 hours, now after a bit of reading its estimating 72 hours. Huge improvement. (And yes, if you load a Chinese novel in this app you'll be hit by the reality a fuck ton of Chinese web novels are from 20 hours for SHORT SHORT ones to 100+ hours to read... for a fast reader). For comparison, I'm also reading 坏小孩 which is only 124k words compared to Guardian at 304k words... and 坏孩子 is estimating ill finish reading it in 28 hours (I think it's audiobook is 20 hours so that's at spoken reading speed).
And Guardian word statistics:
Tumblr media
This fun word statistics area lists the words by order of how often they appear, so its great for if you want to pre-study vocabulary for a book. Or if you want to review common words in it. Or if you're curious how MANY fucking unique words are in a book. Fun fact, 坏小孩 has around 8000 unique words, compared to Guardian's 16,740 unique words. Despite this, I find 坏小孩 harder cause apparently of my lexicon of Chinese words I know how to read, it's mostly words priest uses. And the 坏小孩 author uses a word I am not familiar with about every 20 words ;-; to be fair, Guardian leans heavier into case investigatkom stories/supernatural which is the bulk of Other novels I've read too. Whereas 坏小孩 has many more every day words for card games, school, building descriptions, orphanages, which I do not read about as much.
Anyway my point is: this app is free and pretty dang useful if you're trying to read a language you're learning. It generates parallel texts!

I wanna share a really cool productivity app that I found last night! it's called Sectograph and it displays your calendar agenda as a 12-hour clock. It looks like this:
Tumblr media
It has a widget as well:
Tumblr media
It syncs with google calendar and probably other calendars, too.
What I like about it is that it helps me visualise my time better. I sort of see my hours in a similar way in my head so the normal list agenda doesn't really come through to me in terms of how I'm wasting my time. This buddy, however? In case you can't do quick math, it not only shows you the time blocks, it also calculates how long you have until your next appointment. My current next event is my bedtime routine and it so much closer than I thought it was 👀 This made me literally jump out of bed with the desire to be productive because I don't actually have that long. In my head, I had until 21 h, and that sounds like a lot but it's actually only 7 hours away currently 😅

Is there any chance you know of any good within-system communication apps? I have TwiNote and know I've heard others suggested through Tumblr, but can't find them (fix your search, Tumblr!). I just thought you might know/remember some other ones.
Tumblr media
Antar and Discord are our go tos when we aren't using our new method of communication and discussion we mentioned previously but have yet to gather the words to describe.
Antar I find to be a bit better if you have a better ability to cofront or use your phone more for communication. It takes a bit of practice and work and comfort dissociating so its definitely not for everyone but it can work decently (Maybe if its wanted I can write about how we tend to do it)
Discord is a 10/10 generalist
Out of Context ending to an Antar session with XIV and I that I dont even remember the context to and prefer it cause its better out of context so I wont scroll up
(TW Emetophobia)
Tumblr media
Journal it! is good for not explicit part-to-part communication but it is good for marking down important events, tracking vents on specific topics, making check lists etc that can help with day to day organization and communication to keep parts ona cohesive page.
We have "Journeys" to tag our vents and rambles on to look back later plus a "Moments to Save" to serve as our episodic memory for large event
Tumblr media
Thus Antar (immediate conversation with better connected parts that can co front / co cob decently), Journal It! for day to day and overall event - serves as an external long term memory cause ours is shit, and Discord for everything in between are our go to phone apps for communication and life shit

Can I recommend apps for systems? If yes, you can post it, if not, you don't need to post it.
Guys, there's an app that someone I know recommended to me that is great for systems, the name of the app is Fortelling, it's an app for making stories but it's great for systems ✨
Sure! We checked it out and that app looks pretty interesting! Not sure if we’ll use it personally because SimplyPlural covers all of our needs mostly hehe :3

Random question but does anyone know of a good log or journal app? Something simple that you can navigate through a calendar?
I need to make a daily journal but my adhd makes it hard to keep up and most apps are too much like real journals to be any helpful to me. I’ll look on my own but hoping someone has something they can recommend! Thank you🫶

My personal Google replacement apps/services
Because what they are really selling is you, to advertisers. Which means the information they're showing to you, and the information you're storing on their services benefits paying advertisers more than it benefits you.
I know there are probably others out there, and lots of people probably know about these already but these are the ones that have worked for me, personally. If you want to switch away from google, try these out.
Search: Kagi. Yes, I spend $10 a month on this. Yes, it's worth it for ACTUAL USEFUL SEARCH RESULTS. That I can trust aren't at the top of the search because they paid money to the search company. Without adds. With listicles in their their own little section.
Mail & Calendar: Proton Mail and Calendar. Free/paid upgrade. Works pretty similar to google mail and calendar, more limited unless you pay, but the paid accounts are pretty cheap, and the free versions are 100% useable. They do not store your encryption code/password, so they cannot look at your information. Plus if they start saving money on how a particular service runs, THEY LOWER PRICES. Love that.
Maps: Magic Earth. Free on android (dunno about iPhone). Gives you a lot more information on the map than google maps. Perfectly good navigation while driving. Just picked this one up yesterday, but I'm really loving it so far.

hello! system here! I just found out that simply plural also supports endos (ewwy), do you have any recommendations for replacements? /g
Hello! Thanks for asking! Simply Plural was very difficult for me to get into as well, simply because by design its not very good for people with memory disorders. Its complicated! I have a whole post on my thoughts
I suppose it depends on what you’ve been using Simply Plural for.
If you use it as a means of direct communication, may I suggest Antar?
If you use it as a means to simply keep track of who’s been around, I might suggest Daylio (don’t have a review for this one, but it’s a diary app that keeps track of ‘moods’ and ‘activities’ that are all customizable)
Lastly, if you’re looking for something that keeps Alter Profile kinda stuff very easily, as well as ways to make notes and express one’s self freely, I’d suggest Twinote. (No review on this one yet. It’s a notes app that looks like twitter, and you can make as many profiles as you like)
While none of these are specifically for CDDs, journalling apps like these are massively useful for tracking things with.
If there is an actual CDD app, I wouldn’t mind trying it too sometime, but these are what I’m personally looking for in an app. I wish you luck!
P.s. if none of these appeal to what you need and Simply Plural is genuinely the best app for you, then let me be the first to say its okay to keep using it.
Endogenic stuff is very much an online, not even in the therapy world sorta problem, I don’t think anyone’s going to bite you for using an app thats personally helpful for you. If they do, they have bigger problems going on (get some outside time and watch the clouds kinda problem)
Wish you luck!!

potential alternative to post-it-notes for ppl with bad memory: widgets.
free apps: ‘color widgets’ and ‘widgetsmith’
it changes the composition of your apps when you place a massive widget in the centre of your home-screen. so it’s hard to just incorporate it into the environment of your phone, and therefore harder to not notice when you glance at ur phone, especially if it’s just a short term notice such as ‘buy milk’ or ‘therapy today’. 🌹🌹
