Azul Ashengrotto was smart: smart, greedy, and deceptive. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that you were a prize he had to have from the moment you met.

You had been careless, placing too much faith in a creature you just met - but that bit of confidence you held for his goodness was part of what Azul loved about you, after all.

Friendships with humans were forbidden because of your job, thus it only made sense that you'd seek companionship with a merman you met during one of your assignments. Creatures that had to hide their true selves from mortals felt some kind of solidarity, didn't they?

Though you had wings, you couldn't swim. The same could be said for Azul, who could never cross into your domain with how he was now. It created a natural border between the two of you, so you enjoyed sitting by the rocks at the beach to speak with him.

You dipped your feet into the water, your wings folded carefully to rest atop the boulder you sat on. You'd mistaken Azul's scrutinising for curiosity; after all, he hadn't seen appendages like them before, so you allowed him to carefully swim around you to observe your feathers.

He touched then gently, and you laughed at how it tickled, asking him what he thought.

At the time, Azul said they were beautiful; white as the clouds that hung above your heads in the sky. What he was really looking at was how your wings brushed the water, leaving ripples in their wake.

Birds couldn't swim. He wondered what would happen if he was to trap you in his world; pondered on how many potions or sweet lies it would take to keep the happy glimmer in your eyes, ignorant of his intentions and sparkling like the most brilliant gems.

He wanted to keep that quality of yours, but there was one issue: either he lived on land with legs instead of his merform, or... your wings would need to be clipped.

His tentacles are quite adept at capturing prey - Azul briefly wondered how you'd react. Would you be surprised at how quick and strong they were? Or perhaps you wouldn't even realise it was him, because how could Azul ever attack anyone?

Don't worry - he's nothing if not kind to someone that's caught his eye. He'd like to hurt you as little as possible, so be a darling and cooperate, alright?

He'd absolutely hate to see those feathers of yours dripping with blood... But no matter - there aren't many stains the water can't wash away with time.

Azul is quite aware his reputation is known around campus. But his feelings towards you had not been made known.

He would speak to you with full courteousness as if you were a client or customer to the Mostro Lounge.

When he would do something nicer to you than he would to any regular customer, he'd brush up on you being a valued patron. Everything should be according to plan. You should have no suspicions of his feelings. He gave his invitations to the Mostro Lounge under the guise of free drinks and food for being a good Prefect to the Octavinelle students.

For every slip of his tongue when said anything sweet, he'd have Floyd and Jade backing him to talk.

Until one day, he decided to give you an offer you could never refuse.

He will order Jade and Floyd to go retrieve you. Of course to you it looked more like kidnapping but let us not fuss too much details.

As extra Azul is with himself and his standards, he ascertained that he will be a little bit more extra with you tonight.

The finest silverwares and the best dishes Floyd could cook.

Mostro Lounge was already an underwater grotto of opulence but tonight was far different.

Floyd and Jade promised the housewarden their support but not their best behavior, not making any promises they won't tease.

Azul sat across you and asked you if the decorations were to your liking and some chatter.

From a distance behind you, he'd secretly have Jade and Floyd have cue cards to aid him with the script he so painstakingly wrote weeks beforehand. He made countermeasures to never miss a word.

"It is a pleasure that you could accompany me in this beautiful evening. I, Azul Ashengrotto, have something to proclaim to you as a frequent visitor of our Mostro Lounge today. "

Every inflection of his speech was perfect. His attention towards you never left. And he made a move to change where he sat, moving confidently to sit next you.

" I, Azul Ashegrotto, would like to say that I… "

Subtly eyeing Jade's cue card, it read out those final three words 'I love you' but it proved much different for Azul to say it.

".... I… I…"

In the middle of his perfectly woven speech, his mind stopped at the sight of your eyes on him. In front of you, he was confused and in awe of your beauty at the same time.

But now his insecurities are flaring up and resurfacing once more. It was that utter fear of being rejected once more.

'What if I become that fat crybaby octopus again and she leaves me…? '

What if all these planning just falls to nothing" his nails dug on the cushion of the leather sofa.

The Azul, who was ever so eloquent and always silver tongued to persuade anyone into anything, is now wordless and internally hyperventilating in your presence.

He was always one who wants to impress you with the grandiosity of his preparation but he is becoming his awkward self once more.

"Didn't he memorize everything he is going to say, he's totally blowing it and turning into baby Azul." Floyd felt tears burning his eyes from stifling his laughter while Jade did the same but tried to cover his mouth primly with a gloved hand,yet losing it too.

Even Jade was interrupted by his attempt of hiding his laugh "Floyd, it is– (laugh) " "impolite of us to laugh at Azul's– (laugh) – blunder. "

You, a magicless and mortal human, have rendered Azul tongue-tied. His face was an interesting red hue, profusely blushing. If he could just crawl into an octopus pot right now he would. Actually thats what he thought. 'SOMEBODY HELP ME! I WANT TO CRAW INSIDE AN OCTOPUS POT RIGHT NOW AND CRY'

He did think everything through but never accounted his sudden flustered feelings with you this close.

Lucky he had drank his potion and in human form right now but if he was in octopus form, he would be spewing ink already. He could imagine it in his head.

"Yuu… I.. I.. I.. " each word was said in

jitters.

Normally it would be him referring to others as a poor unfortunate thing but right now, its what you would call him as you mentally facepalmed.

It ended with you speaking first to help him. The most merciful thing you could do to ease his mental torture.

"I… Already knew what you felt about me, Azul. " Your hand felt on top of his to stop his shaking.

'But how could you know… ? I took every measure for you not to know only up to this day'.

One touch sufficed to return him to the surface when he thought he was sinking back to the sea.

"You did?" His baby blue eyes blinked in confusion.

"Hm-mm. " You nodded in affirmation. You gave him the simplest answer with no explanation needed. "I always knew"

"But what do you feel about me?

Do you… Like me..?"

Slightly breathy was his voice as if one about to cry when he gave your hand a squeeze . Your answer being the thing he would hold on whether he'd have to feel rejected again just like his entire childhood.

You did not admit, you were nervous as he was but your answer was what he needed right now.

It gave you strength to reply with the softest voice to make the scared inner Azul come out of the octopus pot.

"I do. I really like you… For such a long time now"

Your words even caught the attention of the twins who watched, who stopped laughing. Honestly they had already mentally planned a pity party in the scenario Azul does get rejected. But they trusted Azul.

If anything, they trusted you more with Azul.

The jitterniess inside Azul disappeared and made the silver haired man clear his throat. "How embarrassing of you to see that but allow me to ask you, properly. Can I start from the beginning?"

You chortled. "Of course. "

Though impeccable he is with his words most of the time, to you, he is suddenly a bumbling mess who needs more time before he would return to his eloquent self.

But now, there it was.

Words were flowing out of his mouth like calm waters.

You two spoke for hours and felt relieved as Azul is himself again. You still had to admit, you loved his nervous awkward self too.

Repoising himself, Azul began again. There was a little quiver in his voice yet he recovered it immediately

"I, Azul Ashengrotto, would like to ask you

a proposition" In his effort to impress you, It was funny he spoke like it was one of his deals with a student. "I cordially invite you to the Mostro Lounge anytime. And more than just a guest but…

Dramatically he took in a breath.

Bringing your hand closer to his lips, he bowed his head and looked over at you from his lashes. "Would you give me the honor of being your date again the next time you visit?"

"I would love that" quietly you were in gratitude the dim lighting hid how pink your face were.

" If ever you need help in anything.

You know where to find me. I am more than willing to help you get your dreams. "

"Is this another one of your shady deals?" You raise your brow at him jokingly, remembering this was the case with the Anemone incident.

"I promise it won't be. "

Azul teased back, his gloved hand moving over to stroke your cheek. When he realized his action, he faked a cough and withdrew his hand.

With a snap of his finger, he summoned his vice housewarden who appeared as if he wasn't just laughing earlier. "You made quite an entertainment earlier but I'd say you did quite a performance in the end. " He spoke in lower volume to whisper.

"Awww I surely thought you'll turn into baby Azul again. " Floyd suddenly appeared behind Jade.

You were not in any way startled by the twins and just chuckled.

"Oh shut up. " Covering his mouth with a fist, Azul coughed to redirect their attention

"Jade, Floyd, can you please make a record to have Yuu exempted from the point card system. If she ever enters the Mostro Lounge, redirect her to my office and notify me. "

"Yes, sir" Floyd and Jade both had sly smiles.

Azul from the corner of his eye, sighed and shooed them away. "Can you two please allow me some privacy 'this time'?"

He gritted his teeth a bit and verbally emphasized the last part.

"Oh we'll allow you some privacy alright~~"

"Just summon us if you both need our help and some 'protection' "

Azul thought he couldn't get any redder so he chided them away. You admitted it took you a while to get Jade's joke before it hit you and had you blushing as well.

The two scurried off from the dating area to no longer spy at him there. But probably from the security cameras.

" Those two are unsufferable. " An exasperated Azul massaged his temples.

"I think they are lovely for supporting you. " You said.

●Hi again. It has been a while, I can only say life has kind of caught me in a loop but I'm back and Ready to continue my hobby of making fics once more.

I do small fictions, head cannons and Drabbles, any big fan fiction series will be written elsewhere.

•●Rules before Request●•

This is an x reader insert blog, anything to do with character x Character is completely out of the question for me unless it has to do with a poly relations with Said reader. Shipping has never been my thing and will continuously not be.

Reader will out of be gender neutral/Female. Writing for male readers have never been my strong suit and I best not make assumptions or lazily write how I think a man acts since I don't know how they do act in fictional situations.

No Oc or Oc insert, with doing oc it would be a long process of knowing every detail of the oc as well as their personality and then trying to insert it into the story. For Me that a bit of a Hassel to do and would take up to much time to do so I prefer to leave this out for now.

I do take sub or Dom readers, both are fine by me as long as you don't request anything to extreme. I will also let you know if the request is something to uncomfortable to write.

You can request up to 3-5characters or 1 dorms per ask. I wish to keep each ask nice an detailed as possible so I would like to only have a small amount to write for that way i can take time on each one without taking to long on it or half-ass writing it.

I will only write in 2nd person. 3rd or 1st person is a no go for me.

Dark topics are okay, I don't mind writing for them as long as you don't not request anything extremely serious or straight uncomfortable for others or myself.

I can and will delete ask that I straight up refuse to do, I have the will to do so especially it is something I don't agree with or not wanted on my blog. So be be aware of what you request.

Yandere ask are also fine. But be known that I may write them In the way I know them or prefer writing them.

I do take time to write my fictions so will take time for me to post. Since I have a life outside of my blog I will post and get request done when I have my free time, any spamming I will block on-site.

~ Speaking of the Lounge, this boy is definitely overworked and very very exhausted whenever he’s on break. He’d greatly appreciate it if you visited his office to give him some much needed hugs and kisses, away from the customers and the twins prying eyes.

~ And be sure to handle him with care as well! He’s quite insecure even if he doesn’t show it much and moments where he’ll be so soft and needy for your affection are quite rare. Don’t push him away if he goes for a hug, okay?

~ Darn guy here is so gentlemanly and so smooth, have mercy on your heart if you get flustered easily-

~ If you’re ever tired from a long day of school, he’ll personally whip up a nice cup of herbal tea for you and let you rant about your exhaustion. I’m sure those students were troublesome, go ahead and be upset all you want, he’s all ears!

~ Kisses on the hand are quite common with him. Both as a form of greeting and a sign of affection. He only does it to you and if anyone else will try to do it to you, he’ll place his hand on their shoulder and give them a smile that definitely doesn’t meet his eyes.

~ Sometimes he’ll be proud of his latest terrarium and will happily show it off to you, pointing out all the different little plants and decorations he added to the funky little terrarium. Even if you don’t know much about plants, he’ll still show it to you like a happy little kid.

Floyd Leech

~ And here we thought Jade was merciless, we have the infamous Floyd with his breath-taking squeezes and thrilling chases.

~ If he sees you across the hall or classroom, he’ll shout for you while waving his arm about. It causes some attention from the others, but he doesn’t care because once he’s got your attention, he’s barreling towards you, pushing and practically throwing other students out of the way to get to you.

~ Not the best at giving you comfort. If he sees how upset and sad you are, he’ll assume that someone hurt your feelings and you’ll have to stop him before he tries to not-so-gracefully hunt down the bully. If schoolwork or something like that is upsetting you, he won’t really know what to do and he’ll most likely suggest to squeeze or cuddle those feelings away.

~ There’s never a dull moment with this eel around! Sometimes he’ll surprise you with a hug behind the back followed by a bunch ch of kisses on your face. And sometimes, he’ll drag you into troubles like skipping class or terrorizing other students by parading around with you on his back or shoulders. Relaxation days? That doesn’t exist with Floyd around.

One thing is for sure. Casita loves to tease this little man. They know his attraction towards Y/n and can't help to coo about it. So when Riddle is too embarrassed to talk. Casita will lend him their power. By tripping them towards Y/n.

Leona Kingscholar.

Casita decides to help Leona after he offered to patch Casita's broken furniture. So when they learn about his longing towards Y/n, that is when they decide to help. In the most subtle way possible. For example, hide Y/n things, and when Y/n is searching for that item, Casita will give the items to Leona and gesture to him towards Y/n. That Lion will not miss this chance to tease Y/n and try to get a kiss from them.

Azul Ashegrotto.

After so many windows and door slaps. Casita begrudgingly helps this octopus. Only because he tries to mend things with them. But of course, Casita will help him with misfortune. For example, when you bring some water towards Azul. Casita will just trip you so you will fall towards Azul plus the water will soak Azul. A win-win situation for Casita.

Kalim Al-Asim.

Casita likes this boy. Their dorm is much more lively with Kalim's cheerful laugh and smile. Usually, Casita will help by setting up the soundtrack in certain situations. What had her life become? That was a question that (Y/n) asked herself daily. How had she gone from being a measly little nobody working at the Monstro Lounge to being Azul Ashegrotto’s main squeeze? When had he started to take such a personal interest in her? Well, she couldn’t be certain but she had a guess. Their first real one on one conversation had been after the octo-mer had caught her singing as she tidied up the bar after the Lounge had closed for the day. She’d been totally unaware that she was putting on a concert for the boy until he’d started clapping after one song had come to an end. (Y/n) had felt so embarrassed at that moment trying to duck behind the bar as her face turned red as can be. Azul had lavished her in praise for the oh so beautiful song and offered her a special deal. In return for raising her pay at the Lounge, the young woman would be required to sing for the restaurant's guests each and every night.

(Y/n) had shyly agreed to the deal, too flustered to say no when Azul was looking at her so eagerly. From that day onward, the girl was no longer on cleaning duty. Her one and only job was to sing for the people who patronized the Monstro Lounge. However, despite her job being to entertain patrons with her song, she also found herself performing some more intimate duties for her boss. Nothing too risque of course, just bringing him his afternoon tea at the start of her shift and occasionally being his dinner companion for his dirtier deals.

It was no wonder that rumors began to circulate about her and the octo-mer possibly being in a relationship beyond that of employer and employee. (Y/n) tried to not let it bother her, but at times it was hard to tune out the judgy comments of her classmates. She hadn’t asked to be singled out among her peers. She hadn’t asked Azul to put her on any kind of pedestal. Still, the young woman dared not confront the boy about the matter, not when things seemed to finally be looking up for her.

“Angelfish, I want you to wear this tonight when you sing” Azul said walking into (Y/n)’s room and throwing something blue and sparkly onto her bed. “I told you not to call me that” The young woman said wrinkling her nose as she turned to the bed and picked up the thing to examine it. “Oh no no, I am not wearing this” she added holding the short, blue sequined dress away from herself like it was some kind of disgusting animal that might ooze and spew goo all over her at any moment.

“Why shouldn’t I call you Angelfish? That’s what you are, aren’t you? My precious singing Angelfish~” Azul crooned as he approached the girl, making her back away with a cautious expression. “And what's wrong with the dress? I just want everyone to see how gorgeous you are” he added grabbing (Y/n)’s chin and holding it in place so the girl couldn't move away. “I… I… can't do this anymore… I’m sorry Azul… but I just can’t pretend I'm okay with this situation” the young woman said looking off to the side.

“Whatever are you talking about Angelfish?” Azul said with a frown. “All this… The pretty dress, the pet name, the taking me with you to business dinners. It all feels… too intimate like I’m your girlfriend or something” (Y/n) said with her own frown. “Oh? Well, I suppose in a way I suppose I have been treating you like a girlfriend… but I think our relationship is a bit closer than just simply being boyfriend and girlfriend. I think the term fiancees fits us better don't you?” the octo-mer said, his mouth quirking up into a smirk.

“N-n-no! We’re not fiancees! We aren’t even dating! Even if you asked I’d say no! I’m not getting into a personal relationship with my boss! I already have to deal with enough rumors already!” (Y/n) babbled out as Azul’s face tightened into an expression of annoyance before he leaned in and pressed a kiss against the girl’s lips. “You forget... I am not just your boss, I own your soul. You do not have the privilege of saying no to me. Unless… you’d prefer I force the correct answer out of you?” he added as he pulled away from the kiss. “Y-y-you wouldn’t, you wouldn’t do that!” (Y/n) said in a stutter, her eyes filling up with tears. “Oh I would Angelfish, I most definitely would. That's how crazy I am about you, ever since I first heard you sing I’ve been smitten and I want to hear you sing for the rest of my life. So again I ask, do I have to force the correct answer out of you?” Azul said, sickly sweet. The girl shook her head as tears streamed down her face. “That's my good girl, I knew that you’d make the right choice” the octo-mer crooned softly.

“Now wipe those tears away, even though you look so beautiful when you cry I can't have you going out where the customers can see you looking so vulnerable now can I? If you don’t stop crying we’ll have to stay in this room all night. Hmm actually...” Azul trailed off with a thoughtful look. “That doesn’t sound like such a bad idea, after all, I'm sure the twins can run the lounge without my guidance for one evening. As for you, I’ll kiss away each and every tear you shed until the sun rises again…”

~ He wasn’t expecting such… Scary searches, though. Deadliest poison, effects of poison, fast-acting poison, and so on. It was quite a shock to Jade, he never thought someone like you could look something like this up. But at the same time, it was so… Amusing~.

~ Now, why would you look all of this up? You knew full well Jade had quite a bit of knowledge with these kinds of things, you won’t need a silly phone when you have him! He’ll smile and go searching for you, eager to explain the details of poisonous plants to you in full detail, be prepared for unsettling facts! But hopefully they’ll help with your story?

~ He was confused, but a little curious about you. Due to being a, you know, mummy with wrappings and being brought back from the dead(possibly), he couldn’t speak well. So all he could really do was look at you. It was quite awkward.

~ Much like Azul, he’s quite the curious mummy. At first, yes, he’ll be shocked and bewildered as to how his coffin was out of his burial tomb and in a different room. One he’s never seen in his living days.

~ He’s able to understand eventually and he gets a good grasp of things. You’ll show him all sorts of things that he has never seen or used. What fascinates him the most though is a potted plant that you show him.

~ You’re able to grow an organism just by putting it in soil and giving it proper nutrition?? He wants to know more! You show him articles and pictures of plant care, which ones he might like the most, etc. The type of plant that catches his eye though is a fungi…

~ He was quite the problematic mummy when he first woke up. Seeing a human for the first time in years made him get all excited and he sprang forth from the coffin in delight.

~ Thankfully, you were able to drag him out before he could continue his happy squeezing. And that’s how you ended up sneaking a clingy mummy out of the tomb. And boy is he very… Childish.

~ Azul was both excited yet nervous about the NRC annual Bring your Parent to School Day. On one hand, he’d be happy to see his parents after quite a while and he’ll gladly show them all of NRC again! On the other hand, however… He’s afraid to introduce you to them.

~ He doesn’t want you to not meet them! He just keeps worrying that they might’ve embarrassing. What if they tell you his embarrassing childhood memories? If that were the case, the Leech twins would join in and definitely make everything worse!

~ But you were bound to ask him about them eventually, with BYPSD(Bring you Parent to School Day) just around the corner. It was obvious he was a little anxious, so you’ll need to reassure him that you’d love to meet his family. How bad could they be?

~ Once you both met his parents after they’ve emerged from the magic mirror, you took in their appearances. His mother, a plump and short woman with short, curled up gray hair and shimmering dark blue eyes, smiled at you cheerfully. And what appeared to be his stepfather walked right next to her, his green eyes hidden behind glasses and his dark magenta colored hair slicked back, he looked just like a businessman. They both were dressed quite fashionably, just like Azul.

~ The second they saw Azul, they were coming straight for him. He barely had any time to escape before his mother trapped him into a hug, cooing and nuzzling his face. “Azul, we’ve missed you oh so much! It’s been so long since the last Parents Day!” To which, Azul replied, “It was only last year, mother..”

~ But once she laid eyes on you, she gasped and lit up. She went to you and shook your hand quite happily, rambling on about how Azul had said a lot about you in the letters he had sent to both her and his stepfather. Azul, in response, let out a noise of embarrassed protest and pushed his glasses up in an attempt to try and calm himself. It didn’t work, obviously. The Parents Day had just started and already it was embarrassing enough…
