Sam had the eyes that I would wake up to every morning for the rest of my life.
I could tell; feel it. Somethings people simply know. And I knew. As ridiculous as that sounded, I knew how it sounded, it was true.
The first time I saw him, it took my friend yanking on my arm to get me to look away. After I answered her, I looked back at him, and his eyes, ever blue and unblinking, still held my body.
I went home with him that night, and it wasn't a secret for anyone. He kicked out his roommates who were there at that club and their sparkling eyes and jeering smiles were the last memory I had before I got that blond alone.
He woke up first and brushed my hair and kissed me awake. I didn't leave for two days.
I also don't remember the last time I had sex that much in two days. It was enough to almost ask my therapist if my addictions swapped up for a weekend.
I didn't leave until his sleepy looking roommate—the one with the dark hair and leather jackets—came home not caring what he ran into or heard because he simply wanted to sleep in his own bed. I couldn't blame him. I wondered how much he ripped into Sam, after I left, for having to hear us through their shared walls.
For such a large house, I was caught off guard that their bedrooms shared walls.
Now it made sense. They wanted to be as close as possible to each other without actually sharing a bed at night.
It took fourteen months for Sam to propose to me. Then he told me he spent the past seven trying to convince Colby.
Our lives mended easily. For as big of YouTube channels they both had and shared, I was completely shocked that I didn't know who they were. They didn't know me, but I too made a living making silly videos.
“Out of everyone, though,” Colby eventually pulled me aside at our engagement party two months ago, “I'm not surprised he chose you. I mean; you're both made for each other. In what other world would it feel right for a couple to get engaged seven months after meeting?”
Seven months after meeting.
That was how I knew Colby knew that I was the one for his best friend; he agreed the first time Sam asked, but he didn't want to lose him. He didn't want to lose him to the possibility of being heart broken.
It was clear as day, now, to all of us; our entire friend group.
I was theirs, they were mine.
And Sam and I were one.
“Literally-Literally—no really—I told her that—” Sam broke into laughter as the music drowned his words. I smiled and tried to keep down my own laughs as much as possible from the recognition of the story he told. His arm hung around my neck with a drink in his hand. While he was distracted in conversation, I sipped from it. Tara gave me a look. “So I told her that—I was like ‘Yeah no, no we’re getting married in May, you know,’” Sam’s voice was soft as he remembered the words I listened to him tell that one Hotel manager. God, he was so awkward in that moment I was surprised his face didn’t flare pink.
”And she gave me a look and looked her up and down and tells her that she wasn’t the one girl we’ve brought there.” At that point I burst out laughing. I remembered the hotel; it wasn’t even a hotel that gave us enough substance or evidence so we fucked around during the entire video.
I still get hate for not being serious enough in that video.
”And I look at her, apparently shocked, and before I say anything she goes ‘You see a lot of things working at hotels for as long as I have-‘ I cut her off laughing and she’s just glaring at me, I go ‘Oh you mean that one blonde and brunette? That’s literally Kris and Celina our best friends from Canada.’ And I’m not joking, right at that moment, Colby’s coming back from grabbing shit and doesn’t see her and says ‘Alright babes, ready to find ghost pussy?’” Sam takes a step back, and my best friend who tood across from me burst out laughing; the friend next to her dropped her jaw.
”To be clear,” I laughed. “It was almost three am by that point, we had two energy drinks, and from our first investigation, we knew there wasn’t jack shit there so it was like moral support for us to not start breaking down sobbing.”
”Oh my god!” Our friend cried as she sucked literal tears in. “That’s why she gave us such weird looks when we checked in!” Tears actually fell by now. My best friend and a couple other girls also stayed at the hotel a week after me, Sam and Colby stayed, and they booked the same room under the boys’ names since it was in the middle of a chain of investigations we did together. It was easier for them to book all the rooms under their names, and the girls and I booked all the flights.
”Dude, there is no way I’m going back,” I sobbed. “It was too funny.”
”I’m so embarrassed,” Sam gasped through laughter. “Like what does she think—“
”I know,” my best friend cried.
Our voices were roughened by the alcohol and the sheer decibel we had to shout over the music and other heightened conversations. We were outside; the sun set halfway behind the ocean horizon and shot orange stripes across the once blue sky.
It was the night before our wedding.
Instead of individual bachelor/bachelorette parties, we combined our weddings parties and went out. This was a lounge we went to once before, and we talked about it for months and months after. It was a phenomenal night. Of course we chose this place for this special moment.
Sam didn’t leave my side all night.
I tried my hardest to not look at him because if I did, I would never look away and then it would escalate into things our best friends would be traumatized seeing.
“I love you,” he said later in the night when the strand lights that encompassed the ever large pergola outside the lounge we danced under. “God, I love you so much it scares me.” I nodded. I didn’t move other than the tiny movements we made; we stopped dancing completely regardless of the loud music and other busybodies around us.
“I know,” I hummed. My arms rested around his neck. He caved towards the drag of my thumb on his skin. “Love you too, so much.” My voice fell into a whisper.
The next time I saw him, it was at the altar.
I told him I wanted him to wear white too because he was just as much mine as I was his. We were married in the garden of a hotel downtown; the reception inside opulent but simple and blended with the art deco chandeliers and plush green carpets. Other than the room, there really was no color in our wedding.
Everyone wore white. My bridesmaids’ dresses were a-line slip in champagne and the groomsmen wore off white suits with minimal black accents; the only thing that separated Sam and I. We didn't wear anything other than white.
After, when the adrenaline settled and the taste of Sam's committal kiss still on my lips, we stood upstairs. We took photos outside before we shared a flute of champagne privately.
“Alright, reception is in 10.” I remember Colby telling us as he ushered the rest of the wedding party out. A wave of nervousness hit my stomach when he led them all out. My best friend gave me a look and I swore my face burned.
As the door closed, Sam moved into my vision. He looked at me without saying a word. My ears rang in the silence; I figured that his did too. Then, his hand reached up and held my face. I basked in his gaze as his eyes raced all over me.
He kissed me sweetly. I hummed as I tasted the same champagne in his cool mouth, and I took him deeper and deeper until his body flushed with mine.
”Sam,” I moaned quietly. His mouth raced down my neck and my hand tangled in his hair. I pulled him back since much was on my mind.
“I haven’t been able to-to basically worship you all day. You look unbelievable, you think I’m not going to take this time to touch you?”
“Sam—“ I gasped his name when he rushed me and pinned me against the wall with a kiss. Melted into it, my hands wrapped around his neck, and he pried his hips in between my legs. ”Oh my god,” I gasped when I realized what he wanted; what we were about to do. “We have ten minutes.”
”And you haven’t been wanting me to touch you for the past two hours?” My face heated.
That was what those explicit messages he sent me while I got ready with my bridesmaids were for.
”Hurry,” I whispered, and so he did.
One of my legs was over his elbow as he finished tugging at his pants.
“Oh my fucking god—“ His whisper rushed out fast as his fingers navigated my underwear—the lingerie I planned for him to tear off later, not now—and shoved his fingers into the warmth he created.
”No-No,” I moaned as his fingers filled me over and over. “Just get inside me.”
He didn’t fight it. Something about our precarious situation and lack of time added fire under my skin; I liked when he listened to what I demanded of him. Of course it was only in these situations.
“Fuck me,” I whispered with a tone that was entirely too sweet for the vulgar words. “Holy shit—” He held my neck, thumb hooked under my chin, as his other hand left an imprint in my hip.
“Yeah?” He was so quiet that I hardly heard him, and it left my legs so weak I was grateful he held me up. “I'm going to cum in you and then we're going to party with our friends at the reception and my cum is going to stay there making a mess between your legs and you're not going to clean it up, right?”
“Fuck—Yes,” I gasped so entirely quietly and meekly that I had to close my eyes. I almost passed out. With a louder moan, he leaned against me and placed kisses on my neck.
“Touch yourself-Touch yourself for me, make yourself cum with me,” he whispered in my hair. I shoved a hand in between us and made myself see stars with him. “Yeah,” he laughed when my legs gave out. He fucked into me harder to keep me up against the wall.
“Going to,” I cried.
“Yeah?” He teased; his voice raised in a breathy question and he stood back up again. Our noses almost touched he was so close. “Better cum so hard around me; make me cum, make me fill you.”
He was right there.
My eyes were closed; tears burned my eyes. I wondered if one fell because his thumb wiped under my eye.
“Know you want it, don't you? I know you want me inside you out there. I know you love thinking about my cum dripping down your legs in front of everyone. Love feeling me inside of you all the ti—”
My orgasm grabbed me by the throat and pushed me against the wall.
“Oh shit—” he moaned loudly as his body lurched forward into mine. God, he was right. I loved it. I also loved that my body could demand his orgasm from him at my will.
He moaned my name as he finished our climaxes and held himself against the wall as well.
We caught our breaths; his forehead rested on mine.
“Come on, my love,” he gasped breathlessly. Then he kissed me slowly as he gently pulled out of me and let my leg down. I stumbled into him but did not pull away from his mouth.
I thought about his taste as we walked hand in hand downstairs where we were announced into the reception.
The night was a blur.
Between kisses, dances, tears, and drinks, I forgot most of the night. I knew I was happier than I ever had been, and with Sam’s hand in mine, it was enough for me.
Until we were alone.
I remembered my arms coiled around his. I remembered leaving kisses across his face and neck. It took everything in his power to keep his hands on the wheel as my hands roamed his body.
Finally.
It was like my senses came to me the moment the door closed, and we were alone in our silent hotel suite.
My heart raced as his hands brushed my hair over my shoulder. I looked down at the loose waves as his fingers undid my dress. Every brush of his fingers down the skin of back sent waves of chills across my skin. I swallowed tightly. When my dress was loose enough, I stepped out of it and he lightly tossed it back; draped over the chair for us to deal with later.
Then I turned and faced him. His eyes hazed with need, and I grabbed his neck and kissed him tightly. He hummed into my mouth, and I drank in every noise he made.
I couldn’t resist. My fingers went for the buttons of his clothes, and he sighed a breath of contentment and tipped his head back in pleasure. His hands never left my body as I unbuttoned his jacket and tossed it to my dress. Then I worked on his button up and it slipped to the floor leaving him only in his pants.
He only had an inch on me—at least—with these shoes on, and I had to admit, I liked it. But then he dove down to his knees.
“Sam,” I gasped. My hand tangled in his hair. I didn’t care that his hair was sweaty and warm, and his body even more so. We were both disgusting by now. After the long day we had of covering our bodies with our thick clothes, sweat, kisses, and arousals, of course it wasn’t perfect. Of course we weren’t clean. But what did it matter?
And that was when my heart skipped beats.
I looked down, and Sam stared up at me darkly as his hands moved down my legs to unclamp my shoes. The image of my body standing in front of him—hardly covered in the ivory lingerie—while he kissed my skin and untied my shoes almost took both of my knees out.
When my shoes were with his a few feet away from us, he kissed up my body and paused at my thighs. He still was on his knees, and I was sure I held onto his hair so I wouldn’t fall over.
”Oh my god—“ he gasped.
To be honest, it was disgusting. I felt gross and my lingerie was nasty by now, but heat flooded my body when his fingers trailed the remnants of his cum that had slipped down my skin during the reception.
“Sam,” I repeated his name. What other words did I know? I moaned as his tongue replaced his fingers and finally, he pulled the lace to the side. “Fuck—“ I gasped when his mouth moved up and up until it tasted my arousal. “Please.” I stumbled. “I-I can’t—“
”I know,” he sighed after he selfishly stole a few more seconds of tasting me. Then he stood up. “God, I love you.” He kissed me. “I love you, love you,” and he kissed me again. It took everything in my power to let him go.
My stomach fell from its place when he walked to the bath and ran the hot water.
I walked over to him. My hand raced over his back. He stood up to me, kissed me.
“Okay,” he sighed. “Get in, I’ll get us drinks.”
”I-I mean, okay, but I’m still wearing—“
”Get in,” he gently doubled down. His smile fell slowly, eyes darkened. My thumb popped from the lace around my body I held onto.
I got in.
My hair draped over the back of the tub to keep it from getting wet for now. As the water filled, bubbles brother up around me. I have never sat in a bath with clothes on before; maybe this was just lingerie, but it felt odd. My body heated when I imagined Sam taking off the lace soaking wet lace. I watched as the water covered my body inch by inch.
When Sam came back into the bathroom, he placed the drinks down. My eyes weren’t on anything except him. He turned to me, and before he could do anything else, I rose to my knees. He sucked in a harsh breath when my fingers grabbed him by his belt.
He gasped my name and his hand brushed into my hair. Thankfully he didn’t stop me; I was pushed sick with waiting for him. I pulled his pants and underwear away—just enough for easy access—and looked up at him. He stared down at me with glossy eyes.
I took him in my mouth without looking away from him.
But he looked away from me; eyes closed with pleasure and head tipped back. I moaned around him and he stumbled forward.
”Oh my god, baby, let me in with you.” I hummed again, and this time his fingers yanked on the roots of my hair. I gasped for air when I came off him. He tore his clothes off the rest of the way and got in with me.
Immediately, I moved over to him and straddled him.
I kissed him before he could do anything else. His hands raced up my slick legs and invaded the lace around my hips. Our moans mixed as I grinded down on him; his hands leading my motions. The water was already hot and the heat that ignited under my skin didn’t help.
I was long past aching for him.
I needed him more than I needed to breathe, to see.
With a shaking breath, he moved the lace to the side and I sank down on him. His head tipped back and I kissed down his neck; the vibrations of his moans against my lips made me move my hips faster and faster.
His hand linked under my jaw and our breaths mixed between open mouthed kissed.
”You feel so good,” I whispered. He smiled. “It’s kinda counterintuitive for you to put me in the bath just to make me all dirty again,” I said.
“Then let me clean you,” he said, and I still drank down his words, his breath. He leaned over and unzipped my bag, and from the bag inside of it, he grabbed my bottle of body wash.
He left it on the floor for a moment. He turned back to me.
I gasped when he pushed me back and I was empty again. He sat up and forced me to sit on my knees on either side of his legs. I watched as my fingertips snaked up his arms; the water once hot turned cool under my touch, and chills ran through me at the feeling of his skin under my hands.
Then I noticed the way his eyes ravaged my body. Fingers slipped under the bottom of my lingerie and he took one glance at my eyes before he unclasped the lace behind me. His lips left warmth and kisses and bites on my skin.
My breath was taken from me when the lace slipped off me completely. It hung over the side of the tub.
”Sam,” I gasped, and he moaned as he kissed down my neck and tasted every part of me. My hands tangled in his hair as his lips traveled down and down; he left red and purple bruises over the curves of my chest. I wondered if he tasted the quickened beats of my heart.
He pulled away to grab the soap. I watched as he poured some in his fingers.
I couldn’t help it.
His hands were so incredibly soft and slippery over my skin as they washed me. He washed every part of my body, and after, his hands slipped back over my chest.
I sank down on him again.
”Fuck,” he gasped quietly. I thrusted myself up and down, and I didn’t care if the water moved more, if it splashed where it shouldn’t.
”Oh shit,” I moaned, and my moans increased as his mouth replaced his hands. I knew my skin was bitter with soap, but he still tasted me and sucked on my skin until I was flushed. The electricity of his tongue and mouth over my nipple shot straight down in between us, and it didn’t matter we were submerged under water anymore; I was so wet he nearly slipped out of me.
“Yeah like that, oh my god—“ he moaned when I quickened my pace.
”Need you,” I gasped. My legs were too fatigued for me to do much more; there was no traction in the tub, and I slowly lost strength.
He lifted me up.
“Sam—“ I cried when he forced me around. My eyes met the only light in the room; the orange glow behind the mirror.
Then my hands grabbed on the edge, and I held myself up as his hands raced down my back, my hips.
He yanked off the soaked lingerie and tossed them aimlessly.
There wasn’t a warning; no more hesitation. I knew that I was so far past the point of foreplay and teasing, and from the force he used on me, I knew he must have been in the same position. One of my knees hung on the ledge while another was still in the water. Sam thrusted into me and grabbed onto my waist so I didn’t slip anywhere.
”Holy shit! Please, oh my god—“ My moans fell incoherent as he finally fucked me like I needed. He too gasped a string of moans, and his nails dug into the slick skin of my sides.
“God you’re so perfect,” he groaned. “Always take me so well.”
”Sam, please.”
“Please what?”
”I’ve needed you for so long.”
”You’ve had me all day,” he laughed.
”Then fuck me. I need to feel you so hard for days.” He cursed under his breath again. He stood me up and used clean water from the faucet to make sure we were rinsed clean.
”Out,” he said. I rushed out of the tub and grabbed a towel and dried off to not get water everywhere. He haphazardly did the same, but his eyes never left my body; I saw them in the reflection of the mirror.
And then I was shoved against the counter.
“Sam!” I cried and I watched our reflection as he thrusted into me again. He lifted my leg, and my knee rested on the edge of the freezing granite.
“Watch me,” he demanded and my eyes met his in the reflection. “Watch us; watch me give you want you want.”
“Oh shit,” I cried roughly. His fingers gripped the roots of my hair and he yanked to keep me upright. If my world wasn’t rocked in that moment, I would have blushed from the sounds of our bodies colliding and moans bouncing off the walls.
“Sam,” I cried his name until tears formed in my tired eyes. “I’m so close.”
”Then cum for me, my love,” he said gently. “Want you to cum so hard for me.” I gasped and choked on my breath when he grabbed my arm and shoved my hand in between us to lure me closer and closer to my climax.
My knees nearly gave out when it washed over me. He didn’t slow down; he fucked me harder. His hands held up my hips since I clearly forgot how to, and he didn’t give me space to come down after my high.
”Sam! Fuck—please—please! Oh my god, it’s so much—“
He grabbed my throat and yanked me back. His mouth was so close to my face, I felt the warmth.
“Is it really too much?” His voice was low and sent thick chills across my skin.
”Yes! Need-Need you to cum.”
”Yeah baby? Where do you want me? Inside—“
”In my mouth. Want you to cum down my throat.”
”Fuck,” he gasped and let go of me. “On your knees,” he demanded and I didn’t mind if they were bruised when they met the floor. I looked up at him as he grabbed my hair and thrusted deep into my mouth. The tears finally fell, and as he tried to pull back and lighten his thrusts, I yanked him in and pushed my tongue up against him tighter.
”Holy shit—“ He gasped and his lips parted. I sucked harder, and watched his face twist with pleasure with every movement of my mouth. I knew. I knew him inside and out; I knew what would bring him on my knees for me. So I didn’t go easy.
He moaned my name. I loved that tone; the tone of warning.
”Fuck!” He cried and another moan of my name became sweet music to my ears. “Coming—“
My eyes snapped shut as the first wave of burning tore down my throat. He held onto my hair for dear life as I drank him down, and before his orgasm was even finished, he forced himself out of me. I opened my mouth before I swallowed the rest of his fluid, and as more striped my tongue, the rest slipped out of my mouth and down my cheek.
”Holy shit, holy shit, you fucking—“ Finally, I opened my eyes and he knealt down in front of me. A smile matched with a blush pulled at his face as he wiped his cum from my face with his thumb.
He kissed me regardless of the mess of my face and mouth. I pressed the remnants of his cum into his mouth and he moaned and kissed me deeper, firmer.
He pulled away when air was necessary.
”Come on,” he sighed. “Want to lay down and hold you, love you.”
”So this wasn’t you loving me?” I shot back with a smirk. He rolled his eyes.
”Everything I do with you is out of love, even if it’s fucking you like a slut.”
”Oh, okay that’s good,” I laughed, and he helped me up.
After we cleaned ourselves up, he brought me the forgotten champagne and even if it was lukewarm now, we drank it down and kissed one more time. As he left the bathroom with my hand in his, I stole one last look at myself in the mirror.
Behind me, light drops of water reverberated in the room from my soaked lingerie that hung over the faucet in the tub.

eddie likes steve. he's not subtle about it. he's also brave about it, unlike you, and development: steve likes eddie back. you like both of them. well, ain't that just your fucking luck?
warnings: canon divergence, brief mention of homophobia/lgbtqphobia, polyamorous relationship, gn!reader (use of they/them pronouns), buckley!reader, fluff. and my already known absurd use of italics word count: 7.6k author's note: this one has been a long time coming! i started writing it so, so long ago, and it's finally ready! i really hope you enjoy it, and if you do, don't forget to reblog! comments are always appreciated as well ♡

Eddie was not very subtle.
Well, you actually weren’t sure he was even trying to be subtle, but, if he was trying, it was definitely not working.
Not with all the stolen glances, and the closeness and proximity every chance he could get. Not with all the pet names, and the cat calls, and with the ‘getting nervous and panting and kind of sweaty’ every time he saw more skin than just arms - like a little stomach when a shirt lifted, or a neck when a head was thrown back in frustration.
And you got it. You could definitely understand the appeal. Steve was very handsome.
When he took off his shirt to dive into Lovers Lake to find a portal, while Eddie lit up a cigarette you looked away because you saw the way Robin glanced suspiciously at Nancy - honestly, Robin was the only one not appealed by Steve's lack of shirt - and you did not want that kind of glance being thrown at you too. And after Steve was bitted by those fucking demobats, you saw it in Eddie’s eyes how he wished it was him bandaging Steve up instead of Nancy - and you also kinda wished it was yourself. He got way too serious about throwing his vest at Steve ‘for his modesty’ too.
And when Eddie called Steve ‘big boy’, Harrington was not the only one who got flustered, because suddenly your head was filled with many images that were not appropriate for the running-from-the-cops-and-also-from-a-interdimensional-monster situation you were all in. Eddie seemed so proud for making Steve lose his words. You just stood in the back of the RV and tried to ground yourself instead of giving into the little green feeling growing inside your chest when Nancy sat at the seat beside Steve while he drove. You heard them talking about kids, for fucks sake.
And when Steve looked so worried about Nance, did everything he could to wake her from her trance, even started singing a song he thought she liked, and was later so focused on listening to her plan. When he gave you a tight hug right before he left with the girls to the Creel house, you almost melted into a puddle. Then he looked so worried about Eddie, asked him to not play the hero when the actual plan was about to start, you could understand if Eddie's heart skipped a beat because yours definitively did - and you were sure the metalhead wanted to say something else when he called out for Steve, but he settled for ‘make him pay’ instead.
And you actually thought it was a one-sided thing, but when Eddie woke up weeks later in a hospital bed, in a different state, after literally almost dying in your and Dustin’s arms; you, Dustin, and Steve were there to see him wake up, the huge smile plastered on Steve's face was enough to light up the whole room and Eddie's own smile reciprocated. And you looked at Dustin feeling like you were interrupting something. And they shared a hug, and Steve was cautious not to hurt Eddie's tummy filled with bandages and stitches. And you and Dustin said you were going to grab a coffee, and when you came back they looked a little pinker in the cheeks than they were before and their hairs were all out of place - Steve’s hair was never out of place.
So, yeah, you could understand Eddie's crush on Steve. With his brown soft hair, all prepped up with too much Farrah Fawcett hairspray (Dustin couldn’t keep a secret for his life), always smelling so good. And his caramel soft eyes, worried about everything and everyone around him but himself. And his preppy, stupid polo shirts and jeans combo, always ironed - you were pretty sure he ironed them himself. The freckles that went all the way from his neck down his torso and his back, splattered in such pretty patterns you kinda wanted to connect them like dots in a kid’s play. With your tongue, to be more precise.
But! YOU, specifically, did NOT have a crush on Steve. You just understood why Eddie did.
When all dust had settled and you were able to go back to Hawkins - thank god for Hopper coming back from the dead and giving Eddie all the alibis he needed, and thank god for their FBI friends for covering everything up as they did with the mall situation the year prior - Steve was very eager to have Eddie staying at his place while the metalhead (and his uncle, of course) searched for a new home. Because his trailer was destroyed, of course. And he was still recovering from all the injuries, of course!
Steve was very smart when he needed to be.
Not everyone in Hawkins was entirely convinced of the whole made-up story, and some people were still very rude to Eddie and the Hellfire boys on the streets, but Hopper was definitely more respected than Powell. So no matter what some people thought, the truth installed was that Eddie was innocent after all. Everyone just had to accept that.
After a while, as life went back to normal - as normal as it can be when you’ve saved the world more than once and half the town was under restoration because of an ‘earthquake’ - you started noticing how the boys were always together. Like when you’d pass by Family Video to see Robin (to see Robin, okay!) and Eddie was also there, leaning on the counter with a soft smile as Steve registered someone else’s borrowed tapes.
Or when you’d go downtown and see them together sharing a banana boat on the new Scoops Ahoy franchise that opened up again on Main Street. Or when you’d volunteer with Robin and Vickie to help those whose houses were destroyed and both boys were also already there, following each other around on their assigned tasks. Or when you went to parties or threw your own parties and they always came in together, never left each other’s side, and went back home together too, always just the two of them.
One day you went to Eddie’s work at the music store and Steve came in behind him as he stepped out of the ‘employees only’ door.
I mean, there’s only so much someone who’s not an employee can be doing with an employee inside a ‘employees only’ room. We all know that.
“Hey, guys,” you greeted, faking obliviousness as you went straight to the New Wave session that was slowly growing as more bands went famous across the country - famous enough to reach Middle Of Butt-Fuck Nowhere, Indiana.
“Oh, hey babe!” Eddie smiled as he came to your side. “What can I help you with today?”
You pretended not to shiver with the nickname. “Well, aren’t you employee of the month,” you mocked, looking at Steve (still behind Eddie) from the peripheral, whose cheeks just went pink. “Do you have New Order’s latest?”
“Oh, I think I saw it back there!” both yours and Eddie’s heads turned to Steve as he enthusiastically revealed, and if you thought he was pink before, he had just created a new shade of pink just then.
“I’ll go get it for ya,” Eddie gave you a smile trapped between real and fake and left for the infamous ‘employees only’ back room.
You smiled at Steve, your own smile trapped between soothing and teasing, and turned your attention back to the vinyls in front of you. A few moments passed in silence before he decided to talk again.
“You’re going to Robin’s this weekend?” you looked him straight in the eyes after his question. He could not be serious.
His prolonged silence made it clear that he was serious.
“You do realize it’s my house too?” you asked.
“Oh Jesus fuck, yeah, no, of course!” he waved around and you couldn’t help but smile. “Yeah, I know, you’re siblings and all, I keep forgetting that, ‘cause you’re nothing alike, of course it’s your house, it’s just, I was wondering maybe you had, like, another commitment, maybe a date, I dunno, can’t hurt to ask right!” he was babbling.
God, he was so cute.
No, scratch that. Forget it, you’ve never said that. Forget it right now!
“No plans at all this Saturday except to hang out with you nerds. Don’t worry,” you winked at him and he let out a sigh as he smiled.
Eddie came back from the inventory room, New Order’s ‘Brotherhood’ in his hands and that typical huge smile on his lips. “There you go, babe.”
You rolled your eyes playfully and paid for the vinyl before leaving, waving at them through the huge glass windows of the storefront. They waved back just before you saw them running to the ‘employees only’ room again.
Guess they were in their honeymoon phase.
You were completely fine and not envious at all.
-x-x-x-
Saturday arrived, and as you were serving soda to the kids playing board games on the coffee table in the living room, Steve and Eddie walked in knowing there was no need to knock. You walked past them as you went back to the kitchen to fetch some chips.
“There you are!” Eddie sounded excited, a six-pack in one of his hands while he pulled you in for a tight hug with the other one.
You smiled. “Where else would I be, doofus? Hey, dingus.” You waved at Steve through the cloud of Eddie’s frizz.
The boys followed you into the kitchen to put their stuff in the fridge. Nancy and Jonathan were intertwined leaning on the island and only let go of each other to say hello to the newcomers as you poured potato chips onto a big bowl and went back to the living room. Everyone else came back with their drinks in hand, including Robin and Vickie who were in the garden for some reason, and chatter began.
This was something you tried to do at least once a month, reunite with everyone including the kids - especially since Hopper and Joyce joined forces and decided to stay in Hawkins, god knows why but you were grateful for it.
That month the reunion was set on your and Robin’s house, your parents finding it weird that their adult offspring were friends with so many high schoolers when you explained that what you were having was not a party, but a friendly get-together. They let you host it anyway, even with the weirdness of it all, when you promised to clean the whole house - not just the living area where you’d all be at - afterward. And they went for a date that night, to give you the full house - very nice of them, and good for them, you guessed?
Everyone had been busier, with the younglings busy with high school and the young adults attempting at adulting, but you all felt the need to check in on each other every once in a while, and just hang out together in peace instead of trying to fight bullies, or Russians, or interdimensional assholes. Shared trauma was a great bonding experience!
A few hours later you, Mike, and Erica were fighting to decide which movie you were all going to watch when Steve and Eddie came back from the kitchen with a chocolate pie they had brought and several plates and forks. Eddie cleared his throat loudly and the room went quiet, looking at them.
“I, uh, we wanted to share something…” Eddie said as Steve put everything on the coffee table. You adjusted yourself in the bean bag you were lying on. “Me and Harrington, we, uh. It’s just, like. I don’t know, I don’t think you’ll be mad or anything. I mean, it’s not like it’ll be a first-time thing, I know you’re all cool with it, considering Robin and Vickie, it’s just. Uh.”
“We’re dating,” Steve went right to the point.
There was a loud silence for at least one whole minute before Dustin spoke up.
“Okay, and the actual news is?”
Eddie and Steve blinked at the same time.
“What,” was more of a deadpan than a question out of Harrington’s lips.
“You really thought we were all this dumb?” Lucas asked gesturing around to point at everyone in the room. Everyone was nodding along.
“Neither of you is subtle. Like, at all,” Max wasn’t even looking at them anymore, sharing a She-Hulk comic with El.
You couldn’t hold your laugh any longer and saw the unexpected couple looking at you immediately. “You knew too?” Eddie sounded really offended for some reason.
You laughed louder, almost falling out from the bean bag. “Are you not listening? Everyone knew! I went by your work this week and you came out of the back room together! Your clothes were all crumpled,” you pointed at Eddie and heard everyone giggling along.
“And we saw you coming out of a dressing room in that fancy store Steve likes. Also together,” Mike pointed at him and Will, who nodded enthusiastically, a shy smile growing on his lips.
“Eddie’s not even trying not to flirt with you in front of our other clients anymore,” Robin stated.
“You were licking on the same popsicle when we went to the lake the other day. At the same time,” Nancy pointed out.
“Nothing serving as a barrier between your tongues besides a very thin strawberry popsicle,” Jonathan concluded with a smirk.
Both boys looked actually astonished as if they were so sure they were hiding something. They looked at each other again before sighing and sitting down in the only tiny space left on the couch, Steve almost in Eddie’s lap. You turned your eyes away.
“So is this our celebratory pie? For our fist man-on-man couple of the group?” you asked, already diving in to get your piece. “Here’s to many more to come!” Mike choked on thin air, you pretended not to notice.
The conversation was easily shifted back to the movie discussion, the couple ‘news’ soon forgotten as you all settled back into your domestic routine, pies in hands, beers and sodas being shared (age appropriately!), and screaming about terror versus action. Again.
-x-x-x-
Robin had called your work in the middle of your (and hers) shift to invite you to come with her, Steve, and Eddie to the movies after all of your duties were over. You’ve said yes and thanked the gods you always took a change of clothes with you to work so you wouldn’t have to show up to the theater in your ugly uniform.
Not that there would be anyone there you wanted to impress. Of course not.
As you arrived, the boys were already there, but your sister was nowhere to be seen. “She’s in the bathroom or something?” you asked. They shared a glance.
“I thought you’d talked to her?” Steve questioned. You raised an eyebrow. “She wasn’t feeling so good, so she went home. Said she’s sorry.”
“Something about diarrhea,” Eddie grimaced and you sighed.
“Great, love being the third wheel,” you murmured under your breath. “You wanna go do this by yourselves? We can reschedule. Invite Jon and Nancy next time too.”
“No, we wanna go with you!” Steve stated quickly and Eddie coughed loudly. “We promise not to go overboard, okay? We’ll put you in the middle seat.”
“Also, not everyone in Hawkins is nice. Mostly no one, to be honest. So we’re not adept to PDA anyways,” Eddie concluded, shrugging. “Basically no one knows we’re dating except for you, our friends,” his voice was in a very low tone, almost whispered, to not draw attention.
You empathized, also keeping your voice low. “Yeah, that sucks. Robin and Vickie are always complaining about it, and they’re also not openly affectionate to each other in public places. And honestly, I’m really scared for them sometimes. I know Robs can stand up for herself and Vickie, but they’re also so tiny. Little babies,” you brought your thumb and index finger together, showing how really smol your younger sister and her girlfriend were. “And people are mean.”
“What’re some bigots in comparison to a real-life D&D monster, babe? Don’t worry,” Eddie put his arms around your shoulder, Steve on your other side, guiding you to the ticket booth.
Eddie paid for the tickets - something about a fly, yeah, the bug - and both you and Steve fought for the right to buy the popcorn, but while you were bickering Eddie went and bought those himself too. As you finally went to the screening room and took your seats, Steve was serious about you being in the middle. Eddie went to the bathroom while the trailers didn’t start.
“So that’s what he’s like as a boyfriend? Doesn’t let you buy stuff?” you curiously asked Steve while shoving a handful of popcorn into your mouth. You kept your voice low again so no one would easily hear you talking.
He smiled dreamily. “Yeah, especially since he’s been getting ‘clean money’, as he calls it, with his ‘grown up’ job.” He made quote marks with his fingers. “He’s a really thoughtful guy. I mean, that was already obvious before, but as a partner… it’s different, you know?” you nodded and asked him to continue. He was getting flustered, talking about the boy he liked made him look so cute… You just had to. It was all you would ever get from him, anyway. “He’s very affectionate, as you could guess. He has to always be touching me in some way. I thought I would get annoyed at some point, but it still hasn’t happened and, honestly, I don’t think it will. I like touching him at all times, too.
“He also likes to do everything together, even silly minor tasks like getting groceries or something. Gets me little gifts almost every day, and not always stuff he buys, but things he sees that remind him of me. Flowers that he steals from other people’s gardens, he once bought me a heart-shaped pebble. It’s so stupid,” he giggled.
Giggled!
“And I love it. He’s so kind. People treat him like shit most of the time, and he’s still always as polite as he can. Only fights back the really aggressive ones. Kids are scared of him because of their parents’ closed minds, but he approaches them and tells them not to fear, and plays stupid magic tricks to get them to like him. Helps old ladies cross the streets and shit. He’s probably the best person I know,” he was rambling. Your heart was so full. “And I had no idea, you know. That I could feel like this for another guy. Eddie calls himself my bi awakening,” you both shared a laugh.
“You deserve it, Steve. After Nancy…” you gulped lightly, and so did he. “I didn’t think you would ever get over her. And she wasn’t able to give you the love you deserved, not her fault obviously, but still true. It wasn’t meant to be between you two. But you and Eds really fit together. Pieces of a puzzle, Dingus and Doofus. You give each other the love you don’t give yourselves with those annoying low self-esteem of yours,” you nudged him with your shoulder and he looked down to laugh, but you saw his eyes watering.
After a while, he looked up. “Yeah, I guess that’s true. I’m really, really happy.”
His smile was really brighter, and his eyes sparkled more. He looked lighter as if part of the huge hero weight he carried on his shoulders had been lifted. You could imagine that the fact that your lives not being in constant danger helped, but love… Love gets you through anything. And you were really, really happy too - for them.
When Eddie came back from the bathroom, bowing for a girl to walk in front of him to her seat, the trailers were already starting. And the bright light from the screen enveloped him in a kind of aura, and his hair looked so fluffy, and his Motorhead shirt sleeves were rolled up to his shoulders, his arms covered in tattoos for show. His shredded jeans, and his chain belt, and his funny wonky walk, and the way he fiddled with his rings. He threw himself at the sit beside you, his arm instantly coming to the rest of your chair behind you while the other reached for the popcorn bowl on your lap, his huge trademarked smile plastered on his face and his beautiful calf eyes looking into yours. You gulped. Something inside your belly swirled.
“Ready for the film, babe?”
Your heart almost leaped out of your chest as you nodded and smiled back at him.
Shit.
You had a crush on Steve.
And you had a crush on his boyfriend.
You were so very screwed.
They gave you a ride home, even though your house was way off their own route, and made you sit between them in Eddie’s van too. Steve’s arm was around you and Eddie’s hand occasionally touched your arm or knee and they let you choose the songs - even though none of you shared musical taste by any means - while you commented on the movie. They even got off the van to give you hugs when you arrived home.
And although you had one of the best afternoons ever, you were also mentally exhausted.
Apparently, finding out you had crushes on two people who were dating each other and then spending your whole day trying not to make heart eyes at their every move was very draining.
Robin was in the living room, a random rom-com on the TV that she and Vickie were pretending to watch, while they were actually attached to each other’s mouths. They let go when they heard the door closing behind you though. Your parents were still not home from their jobs.
“Hey, how was the movie?” your sister asked excitedly. You raised an eyebrow.
“The movie was fun,” not that you had paid a lot of attention. “The being a third wheel part, not so much,” you got closer to them and messed up Robin’s hair. “I actually realized I have a massive crush on both of them and kinda wanna throw myself off a cliff right about now.”
You and your sister had absolutely no secrets between you (that’s how you ended up with her, Steve ‘The Hair’ Harrington, a random middle-school nerd and a very sassy ten-year-old trying to break into a secret Russian base under the town mall Summer of ‘85). So it was a no-brainer that you were gonna tell her about your crushes. And you knew she was gonna tell Vickie anyway, so you just said it with her there and then.
Vickie’s eyes widened with your confession, but Robin didn’t seem to bother. “Yeah, honestly, I had that figured out. I know you too well, ya’ know. Can’t hide shit from me anymore. I’m glad you uncovered your truth, though.”
“Fair,” you shrugged. “You look good for someone with diarrhea, by the way,” at that, she did look guilty about, while Vickie laughed loudly, but you wasted no more time before heading to the bathroom.
You needed a long, calming bubble bath to realign your chakras and rest your stupid, stupid little head.
Later that night, contradicting your expectations Vickie went back to her house, and Robin knocked on your door with a PB&J sandwich for you that she left on your nightstand. You were already under the covers, your head buzzing with so many thoughts and feelings that you were no closer to understanding. And apparently, your sister knew that. She laid down beside you, both of you on your sides facing each other.
“How you feeling?” she asked, basically whispering.
You whispered back: “Like shit. I dunno what to do.”
“Do you wanna do something about it?” her hand found yours under the covers.
“I don’t think there is something to be done about it, Robs. They’re dating.”
You both went quiet for a few minutes. You were trying not to cry, but your sister’s caresses on your palm and the warmth of the blankets around you were making it very hard.
“I really thought Steve liked you, you know?”
“What?”
Robin smiled sweetly at you. “Yeah, he would constantly bring you up on random conversations at work. Wanted to include you in every plan we made,” she paused just for a minute. “But, in hindsight… he did that with Eddie too.”
“Well, Eddie reciprocated him faster. And made his move, so there’s nothing I can do about it now. And I’m happy for them, I really am. They look - they are! So happy together. This,” you gesticulated around yourself, “just some goddamn sour grapes. It’ll pass.”
“Yeah, it will,” she got closer to you and hugged you, and you finally let your tears drop.
“Might take some time. Might take some distance,” you sniffled. “But it’ll pass.”
-x-x-x-
You were serious about the distance.
So you tried to steer clear of Family Video, except on days you knew Steve didn’t have shifts on. You thanked every god and the universe that none of the bands you liked released anything so you wouldn’t have to go to Eddie’s work to buy new vinyls or tapes. You’d see them on the streets and take a detour, a longer route home, walked into stores so they wouldn’t see you back.
Robin noticed, of course, she knew you like the palm of her own hand, but she didn’t comment on it. She would invite you to movie sessions with her and Vickie and would hold herself so they wouldn’t be too touchy and accidentally make you feel bad. Not that you would actually care. It wasn’t them you were in love with, your bitterness was not that big.
You even tried to go on dates of your own, tried to force the crushes out of your system. People who’d ask for your number at work, one of your coworkers, even someone that started a conversation about mayonnaise on the market aisle once. But none of them were nice enough, or funny enough, or sweet enough, or snarky enough, or caring enough, or Steve enough, or Eddie enough.
You felt like the biggest idiot in the County.
You couldn’t hide from them forever, though. You couldn’t hide from them at your monthly get-together. Especially when it was being held at the Munsons’ new apartment - mostly financed by government hush money.
And you were avoiding Steve, Robin - his other soulmate - wasn’t. Therefore, it wasn’t a huge surprise when he pulled up on your driveway to give you and your sister a ride to his boyfriend’s house that night. You tried your best not to act like an asshole, but as you sat in the backseat you knew you were quieter than normal. You could feel Steve’s eyes on you through the rearview mirror at every stop at a red light. He didn’t ask, though. He just kept listening to your sister’s rambles.
But, after he rang the intercom and Eddie opened the gateway and Robin ran up the stairs, you tried to follow her but Steve stopped you with a weak tug on your arm. You turned to him.
“Are you alright?” he asked, his hazel eyes filled with worry. You softened.
“I’m good Stevie, can’t wait to see Eddie’s apartment, shall we?” you tried to get past the conversation, but he didn’t let go of your arm.
“You know you can talk to me if something’s wrong, don’t you?”
“Of course I do. Seriously, don’t worry. Let’s go, Eddie must be wondering where we are already,” you pulled your arm with strength enough to be released from his grip and went up the stairs without waiting for an answer. You heard him sigh, though.
When you reached Eddie’s floor, he was standing in the doorway. “There you are! For a second I thought you’d bail on me, babe,” he said, and if you had ever heard him call Steve babe you could swear he was talking to his boyfriend. But he only ever called you babe.
He pulled you in for a hug, and you squeezed your eyes shut at the smell of his cologne, the way his hair tickled your nose, the way his cold rings felt against your warm skin, and how he was tracing circles with his thumb on your shoulder.
This was way too hard.
You gently pushed him away, ending the hug faster than you really wanted it to end, and looked at his face. “Give me the tour, will you?”
He grinned widely at you, but you didn’t miss the questioning look he threw Steve behind you before he turned and started showing you the apartment. Dustin, Max, and the Sinclairs were already there - Steve picked them up before he did it with Robin and you.
It wasn’t a huge apartment, but it was enough for Eddie and Wayne. They had a fairly big living/dining room, separate from the kitchen, and two bedrooms now. Eddie’s room was already filled with posters on its walls and ceiling, the usual mess the boy used to make already scattered on the floor. Sweetheart had her special spot on the wall too, looking as beautiful as ever.
As you went back to the living room, complimenting and congratulating Eddie on the house, Nancy arrived with Mike and the Byers siblings. As a heartwarming gift, you had all agreed to participate in a campaign that day, even Steve, Max, and Nancy went for it - after lots of bribery, but still. You had always been curious about it, so it didn’t take much to convince you too.
So you all gathered around the dining room, pulled out your character sheets - the kids helped you create your own characters along the month - and settled for what you knew were hours of adventure. And some (a lot of) bickering.
The one-shot campaign was a success. Eddie was a great DM - not that you knew a lot about that, but it felt like he was a great DM. He said he had some insights from Will, who looked very proud of the help he provided. Everyone seemed to have a good time, even Nancy, Steve, and Max who reluctantly smiled their way through the campaign. Dustin had a blast that his favorite humans were together and enjoying the same things at the same time. Your characters saved the day in the end and it felt rewarding.
Mr. Sinclair had passed by and taken both his kids, plus Dustin and Max, home. Vicky was on her way there to get Robin and you. Nancy and Jonathan, in the living room talking to El, were waiting for their brothers, who were in Eddie’s room talking to both him and Steve.
As you were coming back from the bathroom, you couldn’t help but listen to the conversation.
“…so yeah, Will, it’s absolutely okay to like boys,” Eddie’s voice wasn’t loud, but you were just by the door so it was clear enough for you to hear.
“And how did you know you liked both?” Mike asked.
Steve cleared his throat and before you could pry even longer into their conversation, you passed by to the living room, sitting beside your sister on the couch, arms crossed.
“Okay?” Robin asked, and you nodded. El looked at you in that curious stare she had, and Nancy pretended not to notice. Jonathan was staring at the wall. Probably high out of his mind, and missing Argyle.
You poked on your cuticles until the LGBT lecture for the baby gays was over, and the four boys walked out of Eddie’s room. You smiled as sweetly as you could at Will and Mike - Will smiled back, but Mike seemed kinda shocked and so his smile was more of a grimace. Poor boy needed time to settle into his self-discovery, apparently.
“Shall we?” Nance asked and El and Jon got up from where they were sitting on the floor. They all said their goodbyes to Steve and Eddie before getting out.
A few minutes passed by in awkward silence, you and Robin sitting on the couch, the boys standing up in the middle of the living room, no sign of Vickie. You could see your sister and Steve having a weird telekinetic conversation, you knew he was the other third of her soul, and was already fearing for your life because your sister was known to make stupid-ass decisions.
“I’m gonna take a wee!” aaand there she goes.
She got up way too fast and you couldn’t hold her arm to force her to stay, and so you saw yourself alone with. The boys you liked. It was like your body was preparing itself to ignite into explosive inside-out combustion, a mantra rolling in your head repeatedly ‘calm the fuck down, breathe in-breath out, calm the fuck down!’, not helping very much but you still tried.
Eyes closed, you felt the couch sinking as they both sat beside you. You took a glance and Steve was directly to your right, Eddie beside him, both of them sharing another silent conversation before Steve turned back to you.
“So-” your attempt at cutting the ice was cut out.
“I like you,” Steve blurted. Your eyes almost popped out of their sockets.
“Steve, what the fuck, Eddie’s sitting right there,” you discreetly pointed at the other boy, your voice somehow caught between a yell and a whisper. Eddie wiggled his fingers at you.
“Yeah, he’s part of the conversation?” Steve answered, sort of asked, and you couldn’t be more confused.
“What.”
“We both like you,” Eddie joined, scooting closer to Steve, making Steve scoot closer to you, making you scoot a little backward.
What the fuck was going on.
“You. Both? Like me?” they just eagerly nodded. “Well, that’s fucking weird. Like, not normal. At all.”
“Is it, though?” Steve asked, no malice in his voice, eyes full of affection. “You like the both of us. Is that weird?”
“WHAT-how-what-no?! What! ROBIN?” your eyes went straight to the little corridor leading to the bathroom where your apparently betrayer of a sister was, and you could swear you heard some thumping coming from that direction.
Steve stretched out his arms, ready to touch you before he gave up. You couldn’t decide if you felt grateful or sorrowful. “No, your sister didn’t betray you. She didn’t have to tell me, I can tell when people like me.”
“You couldn’t tell with me,” Eddie pitched in, and you suddenly remembered he was there. Quieter, probably for the first time in his life. Why was he so quiet?
Steve rolled his eyes at his boyfriend’s remark. “Yeah, okay, I said people, not big ass confusing nerds.”
“Are you telling me they’re not big ass nerd?” Eddie pointed at you, but you were still in too much shock to even process what he was saying.
Steve looked at you again, his eyes going back to that affection you saw before, and he called your name sweetly, and you had absolutely no idea what that conversation was and what you were supposed to tell them because, yeah, you liked them, but what? They liked you? And what the hell were you all supposed to do with that?
You didn’t have to answer, though, because Robin got out of the bathroom and Wayne walked in through the front door, and Steve and Eddie scooted backward again, and you got up faster than your sister did with her ‘wee’ whatever.
“Robin let’s fucking go goodnight mister Munson nice to see ya bye boys what the fuck!” you didn’t stop to hear any of their answers, nor for Robin to catch up to you, nor to take a fucking breath, and just bolted down the stairs.
You had a lot of thinking to do that night, wrangled up in your sheets, a PB&J sandwich by your nightstand, Robin probably cuddled up to you.
What the fuck.
-x-x-x-
Two whole weeks passed by.
You continued on your ‘avoid them at any costs’ plan, even though Robin was all up in your ass bugging you to talk to them, even though you told her you didn’t know what to say, even though she practically gave you a scripted speech, even though she tried to convince you it couldn’t go wrong, even though she was most probably right, even though she kept saying Steve and Eddie were in sour moods, even though you felt like shit for making them sour. Because you still had no idea what to say.
But you were also in a sour mood, because you missed them, and because you didn’t understand but you wanted to understand, and because your crush was probably more than a crush, and you really wanted to see where all of this could go even though you have never heard or seen anything like this. Deep down in the confusing fortresses of your heart, you were willing to be a pioneer on that matter. Even if you very likely wouldn’t pioneer shit.
And so when your feet automatically walked six blocks from your work to Family Video on a random Tuesday after your shift, and your heart unclenched a little bit when you saw both Steve’s bimmer and Eddie’s van - and no sign of Robin’s bike -, and when you walked in and saw it with our very own two eyes that even though they were clearly happy to be around each other - Eddie bugging Steve in his closing shift - it felt like something was missing there, and you desperately clung to the idea that what was missing was you.
“How’d you talked about this?” you asked, their heads turning to the sound of your voice, Steve instantly letting go of the broom he was swiping the floor with, Eddie instantly standing up from where he was all slouched over the counter.
“This… what?” Steve asked, his eyes avoiding yours for a second to look outside from the glass doors. You turned around and switched the plate from ‘open’ to ‘closed’. Fuck Keith if he complained Steve closed half an hour earlier.
“This. You liking me. How did you get to that subject, and then decided to bring it up with me?” you pointedly looked at Eddie. He was way too quiet last time. You needed to hear him saying.
He apparently understood you just fine, “I brought it up. Even before we agreed we were each other’s boyfriends, I asked Steve something similar, how did he know he liked me, and he told me how confused he was because he liked both me and you,” he said.
You gulped and tried not to deflate.
“And Eddie said, quote-unquote, ‘fuck yeah they’re the best, I really think I like them too’. And we didn’t do much about it, because we didn’t think there was anything to be done, and soon we were serious about each other. Until Eddie took us to a gay bar he used to go to in Indy,” you think you remembered Robin talking about this to Vickie someday, their plans on going too.
“And we talked to some of the people I knew from other times, and we ended up talking about you a few drinks down, and. Apparently, there are people who date more than one person. And it’s okay,” Eddie shrugged as if it was nothing, a shy smile on his lips, and you hadn’t noticed but you were all a few steps closer to each other. Steve’s broom forgotten on the floor, both of the boys’ eyes on you, adoringly, sweet as fucking candy, a whole conversation they had about you with strangers at a gay bar in Indianapolis.
“I need to sit down.”
Steve brought you a cup of water, and Eddie was sitting beside you on the ‘employees only’ room couch in the back of Family Video. Fucking ‘employees only’ back room. Eddie wasn’t sitting too close, but he wasn’t far, and that was comforting.
You gulped down the water in practically one go and settled the cup on the side table. Scooted a little closer to Eddie, patted down on your other side, Steve followed your command and sat down too. You couldn’t look at them, though, not yet.
“You did your research”, your voice was quieter than you wished.
There goes being a pioneer, you guess.
“We weren’t even looking for it, the information just literally landed on our laps,” Steve said.
“We were just rambling on and on about the person we both like. A lot,” Eddie smirked, but there was no real danger in his smile, never was. Your shoulders decompressed a little, and it was like they were both waiting for that to scoot a bit closer. Eddie’s hands just beside your thigh, Steve’s arm draping behind you on the couch.
A few minutes passed by, your mind a whole mess of a race, but they waited patiently for your next question. “How would that even work?”
“Like any other relationship. Except it’s three of us instead of two. And we can have dates, no one will know it’s a date besides us, it’s what Eddie and I already do, people think we’re just two guys being bros. We will look like three friends hanging out, but we will know.”
“And we can sit next to each other and hold hands, hidden under the diner table, we can have a whole schedule,” Eddie joked, you chuckled, and he held your hand. You let him. Squeezed his fingers with your own. “And sometimes we can go to Indy and we don’t have to hide there.”
“Or we can have home dates, and Eddie can cook, and I can bake, and you can just sit there and look pretty as you do,” Steve’s fingers grazed on the nape of your neck. You got goosebumps.
“Are you saying I can’t cook?”
“Well, last time your lasagna was not that good-” you let go of Eddie’s hand to swat at his thigh, and he laughed out loud. “Just kidding, babe, it’s just cause we wanna treat ya,” you quickly held his hand back.
“You know how Eddie likes to treat the ones he cares about,” Steve said, and you remembered your conversation at the movie, that day.
“Did you plan that movie? When Robbie had ‘diarrhea’?” Steve’s cheeks turned instantly pink, and you and Eddie both snickered at that.
“Stevie might have begged your sister to leave,” there was so much fondness in Eddie’s voice, and you noticed just then, how much fondness was in the voice he used to talk to you, too. “You make him nervous, you see.”
Steve’s ramblings made more sense.
“You make him nervous too, he’s just the weird kind of nervous,” Steve remarked, and now Eddie’s quietness the other day made more sense too.
God, you had been oblivious.
“And we can make this work? You really think we can make this work?” you asked, still unsure. Okay, you weren’t a pioneer, but you still had never heard of this before.
“We can totally make this work, babe. I swear to you is not as complicated as it seems. Is just-” he interrupted himself, thought for a second, his eyes staring intensely into yours, vulnerable, a little pleading, decided to go with it: “Well, it can be just love.”
Eddie’s words echoed in your head for what felt like a long time. Not a fucking crush, oh no. You knew them too well for that. You knew yourself too well for that. All of the fear washed in a wave out of you, and you sighed a happy sigh.
Just love.
Felt right.
“Feels right,” you said, feeling Steve’s forehead thumping on your shoulder, his fingers getting lost in your hair, he was closer than before.
Eddie was closer than before, you looked at him, his nose touching yours, his breath tickling your skin, suddenly his lips on yours, and your whole body collapsed into him, your fingers still tightly holding onto his, your free hand searching behind you for Steve’s hand, Eddie’s free hand in your face, cradling your jaw, so gentle, his lips so soft even though you knew he had a habit of picking on the skin there, but he was so soft, so soft, so soft.
Steve’s lips were on your neck, and suddenly you switched it up, let go of Eddie’s lips, turned your head, now Eddie’s lips on your neck, your lips on Steve’s, he was soft, you knew he liked Chopstick, he was real soft, but his fingers on your neck, tugging on your hair, his hands on yours, he was a bit frantic, not as slow, not as gentle, just as sweet, sweet as fucking candy, and you were going into a sugar-coma, head spinning, breath caught, couldn’t wait to do this over, and over, and over, and hiding in a diner, and in a gay club in Indy, and in your house, and their house, in their beds, or your couch, and over and over and over again, dizzy with all the expectations because you felt it, right through those kisses: you could make this work.
You would make this work.
It was working already.

Pieces of My Heart - Chapter 15 Stray Kids OT8 x reader, Soulmate AU
Masterlist | Next Part
The next morning was spent doing errands. You woke up to a few good morning texts that made you smile, and you let them know you were heading out to the store down the street. The street was slightly busy as it was early morning on a weekday, but it wasn’t crowded.
You managed to make it through the store with little to no issues, only slightly panicked when you messed up while thanking the cashier, but thankfully she brushed off the error and wished you a nice day.
Soulmates
Y/N Guess who only slightly embarrassed themselves at the grocery store ^^ Img.png Felix Oh no, what happened? Y/N Tried to say thank you. Accidentally said you’re welcome. Felix ∠ ( ´• 0 •`) 〴 Han Damn, that’s so embarrassing For you For me it’s hilarious Y/N ( ⇀ ╭╮↼ ) Chan Glad you’re back safe Sorry to hear about you embarrassing moment Minho Poor Jagiya RIP your dignity Funeral will be held at 8pm           Y/N ( ง •` ⎽ ´• ) ง
You got back to your apartment and began putting things away only an hour after leaving, which left you with plenty of time to sort out all the things you had planned for the day, starting with your assignments for the week.
You received a text as you began to set up your computer and pull out the books you had bought only a week before you got onto the plane, but you forget about them for a few seconds and it isn’t until you get 6 consecutive notifications that you finally pull out your phone.
Changbin Hey, do you mind doing me a favor? Y/N Hmmm, depends on the favor
The other texts you received were a couple photos and selfies sent by Jeongin, and you smiled as you looked through a few of them. Most of them were obviously taken without the members’ knowledge, and you shamelessly saved a few of them and used your favorite selfie as your phone wallpaper.
Changbin Channie-hyung made plans to work later tonight, despite my best efforts to convince him to take a day off. You mind giving it a shot? Y/N What makes you think he’d listen to me? Changbin I figured you could persuade him more effectively. Y/N Hmmm. I might have some ideas in mind. Changbin Oh? Thought about it before, huh? Y/N NOT LIKE THAT! Get your mind out of the gutter! Changbin Kkkkk As long as it gets him to bed before midnight, I don’t care what you do. Y/N (  ̄ ^  ̄ ) ゞ
You then decided to thank Jeongin for the pictures by making yourself a breakfast full of his favorite foods, settling down at your desk while you ate to go through your email before you got started on your homework. You set a timer for 2 hours, working through as much work as you could with a few breaks in between, and pretty soon your alarm went off.
Double checking it was around lunchtime, you sent a quick message.
Y/N Are you busy right now? Chan Hmm, having a quick lunch with the boys. Why? Is everything okay? Y/N Can I call? Want to hear your voice.
Instead of a reply, you received a call from him, which you received with a smile.
“Well, someone was quite eager,” You teased.
“What can I say. I missed you too.”
“You saw me yesterday.”
“Hmm, but that was over 24 hours ago. It’s a long time to be away from my girlfriend.”
You let out a laugh. “Girlfriend? Awfully sure of yourself considering you haven’t actually asked me yet.”
“I haven’t. But a little birdie told me Seungmin already asked for us.”
“Oh?” You began to pace your room. “Doesn’t that technically mean only Seungmin’s my boyfriend?”
“Haven’t you realized sweetheart? We’re a package deal.”
That made you pause, and you were suddenly grateful that this conversation was taking place over the phone and not in person, because it allowed you to ignore your suddenly hot cheeks and act as if you were as confident as you wished you could be.
“Well, in that case, I think I deserve a nice night in with my lovely boyfriend. What do you say, want to hang out tonight?”
There was a pause on his end, and you could just about make out the distant chatter from the other boys. “I don’t know. I had some ideas I wanted to flesh out while they were still fresh …”
“Shoot. Are you sure I can’t convince you to change your mind? I was really looking forward to getting to spend some time with you.” You dropped your voice down to a seductive tone. “I promise I’ll make it worth your time.”
“Oh?”
“Yeah, I have some ideas in mind.”
“What kind of ideas?”
“Good food, good company, and a good night’s sleep. What more could you possible want?”
“That sounds like heaven,” He said with a smile in his voice. “I’ll agree on one condition.”
“Hmm?”
“Tell me which one of the boys put you up to this.”
You snickered. “Please don’t kill my boyfriends, babe. I prefer to have them around just a little longer.”
“Oh no, I mean to thank them. I was planning on spending the night with you anyways, as an apology for missing dinner last night, but I figured I could get a better deal if I convinced the others that I was going to work tonight-“ He trailed off.
Your mouth dropped open in shock. “You planned this!?”
“I planned on someone snitching on me.” His own voice suddenly dropped, and you felt shivers roll down your spine. “Getting to hear you practically begging for me? Oh honey, that was just the cherry on top.”
“You little shit,” You snapped back breathlessly.
Chan let out a chuckle. “I’ll see you tonight sweetheart.”
“My place or yours?” You wondered, twirling around on your spot with a smile.
“My place. If I have you all alone, I won’t be able to keep my hands to myself.”
“I wouldn’t mind,” You teased. “But your place it is. See you later, alligator.”
“In a while, crocodile.”

Y/N You’re too predictable And apparently, so am I :( Changbin ??

Using the key you had been given just the day before, you made your way into an uneasily quiet apartment. It felt wrong to be there by yourself, but you had a plan for a perfect evening, and part of that part was making sure that you had a nice warm meal waiting for you boys when they got back home.
You were planning on something simple, but also something you were sure everyone would like. You didn’t know if everyone would come around for dinner or if it would just be the 4 who lived there, so you made enough for 9 people and figured if there were leftovers they could always eat tomorrow.
And your timing was nearly spot on, because just as you lowered the heat to leave the food warm, you heard the front door click open. There was a soft chatter and a surprised hum from behind you, and you turned around with a smile.
“Dinner’s ready if you guys are hungry,” you said, and Jisung waddled over to you with a tired smile.
“Hi baby,” he said, wrapping his arms around you.
“Miss me?” You teased.
“Always.” He hooked his chin onto your shoulder, and you felt an arm reach out to pull the lid off the pan on the stove. “Ooh, whats this?”
“Chicken parm. You hungry?”
“Ahhh, you made food!?” Changbin’s loud yell made you jump, and you peeked around Jisung to wave at the other three who were piling into the kitchen.
“It’s ready, if you guys want to eat.”
You received a loud overlapping rumble of confirmation from 3 of the boys, and Chan gave you a knowing look when you winced at the sudden pitch in noise. He mouthed what you assumed was ‘thank you’, but you had to quickly look away to keep Hyunjin from dropping the plates he had been trying to grab despite you and Jisung standing in his way.
Jisung whined when you pulled away, and it was only with a promise to sit next to him that you managed to wrangle them all to the table.
The rest of the meal was surprisingly silent as the boys ate. You could tell they were tired, and you were thankful that Chan wasn’t going to actually be working late that night because he looked like he needed a good night’s sleep more than anyone.
“I’ll clean up,” You reassured the others when they finished. “You guys go get ready for bed.”
“Are you staying?!” Hyunjin piped up, giving you a pleading look.
“Sorry Hyunnie, I called dibs,” Chan said, patting the young dancer on the shoulder.
Changbin gave you a sour look and you laughed, knowing that he had undoubtedly asked Chan about your cryptic text and realized you had both been bamboozled.
Jisung let out a yell. “No fair! Why do you get to spend the night with them?”
“Yeah! What if I get lonely tonight?”
“Ah, Hyunjinnie! You can stay with me if you want!” Changbin chimed in.
Hyunjin made a face, leaning away from Changbin who was now making kissy faces, and shooting you a pleading look. You grabbed his plate and escaped into the kitchen, the sound of chairs scratching along the floor and pounding footsteps echoing down the halls.
“Everyday,” Chan sighed, joining you at the sink and placing his plate on the counter.
You glanced at him, smile tugging at your lips. “You poor boy. You look like you need a break.”
“Hmm, good thing I have a perfect escape,” He whispered, wrapping his arms around your waist.
The heat from his body soaked through your shirt and you leaned back, pausing in your dish washing to appreciate the feeling of content you experienced being in his arms, and you knew he felt it too when he slumped against you as his muscles relaxed. He pressed a kiss to your shoulder, grip tightening for a split second before he pulled away.
“Move over,” He said, bumping you with his hip. “Let me help.”
“You don’t have to,” You reassured him. “I know you’re tired.”
“The quicker we finish this, the quicker I get to have you in my bed.”
You flushed at the subtle innuendo he dropped on you, and if it wasn’t for the giggle that escaped him when he realized it too, you would have thought it was on purpose. You bumped him back and the two of you made quick work of the dishes.

Something nudged your shoulder, and you jolted awake with a sudden inhale of air. There was a blurry smudge of a person leaning over you, and your heart was beating loudly in your ears until your eyes adjusted to the dark and you realized that the smudge was Jisung, frozen with his eyes wide at having been caught. You let out the breath you had been holding.
“Sungie,” You groaned, and Chan shifted from behind you. “Seriously?”
“I was hoping you wouldn’t notice until tomorrow.”
You closed your eyes, lifting up the blanket in a silent invitation, and Jisung took the win with grace as he slid under the covers. Chan huffed out a laugh in realization, warm air hitting the back of your neck. Jisung pressed his back against your front, and you wrapped your arms around him, the warmth from both sides slowly pulling you back to sleep.

JOIN US WE HAVE SEXY POPES WHO DOUBLE AS FRONTMEN AND FREAKY GHOULS. Listen to them, I highly recommend listening to the meliora and prequelle album before delving any deeper. Watch some YouTube videos abt the lore. PLUS THEY HAVE LITTLE EPISODES <3
Time for some more Cakemaster 9000
Phew, this took a while
Kanoh Agito: How does he fall for you?
• Like what I mentioned in one of the headcanons, you work for Katahara. While Agito doesn't directly work for him apart from beint his representative fighter, he's technically his family AND The Fang.
• However, you two hardly see eachother when on the job. BUT-
• You two visit the same coffee shop. He loves his morning Latte, and you love (insert your favorite Cafe drink here)
• When you first started working, you were surprised to see the Kanoh Agito at a small coffee shop.
• He usually greets and addresses you formally, not interested in any small talk.
• "Sheesh, what a stick in the mud" It's not that he was trying to be rude, but he did come off a little condescending when he greeted you. (He has tone issues)
• One day you woke up late and didn't have time to stop and get your usual.
• He notices your absence. "They can't be sick, they showed no signs of it two days ago"
• Long story short, he picks up your order and goes looking for you. Once he finds you, he stiffly hands it to you. "You were late I presume. I picked this up for you"
• Everyone in the room was shocked. The cold hearted Fang buying someone a drink? You smiled warmly and looked into his eyes "Thank you, this was very kind of you"
• His breathing hitched, and he felt speechless. Was he....flustered? "Don't let it happen again, you work for the Chairman afterall"
• You obviously didn't let it happen again....buuuttt it was super sweet how he seemed to care about you enough to get you something.
• To return the favor, you arrived earlier and got him his Latte. Listen, he was speechless before, now he was in shock. He didn't show it though. In his lifetime no one had ever bought him anything or returned a favor. There was a first time for everything.
• You saw through his attempt to hide the baffled expression on his face. It was kinda- cute.
• "Why have you done this?" "Why not? I'm just repaying you" "I-" "Shush, just take the drink, it's burning my hand"
• He has to get there before you now to ensure that he sees you. He's a bit friendlier with the greetings, too. Don't expect a smile though, just a softer glance in your direction.
• When he was around you, he didn't feel like he needed to be The Fang of Metsudo. You didn't hold him to any higher standard when you chatted, you didn't bother holding back a few curses. He felt as if his soul was on Earth instead of hanging in the balance.
• On one of your off days, the two of you get coffee and sit down for once. Finally having a slower paced discussion. It lasted a few hours, you did most of the talking while he had a response to almost anything. There was a lot he didn't know about pop culture.
• Coffee dates became your thing, even though it wasn't technically a date. More like two friends hanging out. Discussions got into deeper topics like pasts and whatnot.
• Agito decided that he could trust you, so he opened up about the Human Gu Ritual. He didn't know what trauma was, so you explained to him that his feelings and memories about that time in his life would be very traumatic.
• "I'm glad you could tell me that, but are you okay? If I had something like that on my chest I'd cry" "I'm quite alright, I'm not fazed in the slightest but I had no idea the caliber of the topic. I hope I didn't ruin the conversation"
• You tapped your cheek and sighed. "Have you ever been hugged before?" Agito thought for a second. The embracing gesture? The only physical contact he's hand was a pat on the shoulder or when he's fighting.
• "No, I don't think I have" "Well today's your lucky day, bring it in"
• He froze as you wrapped your arms around his waist, pulling him into you. His heartbeat raced as he thought of what to do. "Just tell me if you don't like it" you squeezed him gently. He awkwardly put his hand behind your back and rested it there.
• You let go after a few seconds, but he didn't want you to. "How was it?" You smiled.
• "I'm not sure" He smoothed out his suit, trying to relax himself after what just happened.
• A few days passed and you haven't seen him anywhere. He wasn't at work or at the coffee shop. You start to worry. Did you drive him away? Was the hug too much? Oh god was he dead?
• All the while Agito was keeping an eye on you from afar. Not letting you see him, but he could see you. He felt very fragile after that day, he almost felt ashamed. He wasn't good at managing his emotions. And what happened moved him in a way that frightened him.
• He summons the courage to talk to Katahara Metsudo about how he felt. He was the only parental figure he had in a sense.
• "You are a grown man. Is this really a difficult concept to grasp?" Katahara looked out the window of his office. "I'm inexperienced, these feelings are foreign to me"
• 'He's not referring to himself as we and us anymore, this must be serious' Katahara turned around. "To put it simply" he laughed "Tell (Reader) everything you told me"
• "I have a strong regard for you" Agito came clean. You know how I said there was a first time for everything? Well he had a hint of red on his cheeks. This beast of a man, blushing? Utterly adorable
• "So you're saying you love me?" That's the word. Love. He nodded. "Well. Say it then. There's nothing holding you back"
• He pauses for a moment, he's not exactly fond of eye contact. But this was for (Reader)
• "I love you"
• You wrap your arms around his waist again. "That's all I needed to hear"
• His lips curled into a smile as he looked down at you. You parted from the hug and tilted your head to the side. "Wanna go out to a restaurant sometime?"
• "Are you asking me out on...what is it that they call it...a date?" "Yes" you stated bluntly. Beating around the bush or teasing wouldn't get far in this situation.
• "We can talk about plans later, I have important matters to attend to" he look your hand and grazed his lips on you knuckles. Planting a small kiss on it.
• "Now where did you learn that?" "It's a romantic gesture they do on television" you bite your lip from calling him a dork.
• "I'll meet with you later about this date. Until we see eachother again" He leaves, and you're alone again.
• Man, you're already falling for him. It's not like you'd hate dating him. But you didn't want to be head over heels just yet. You looked at your knuckles and sighed "Ah what the hell, being love isn't that bad"

confession
gekko/mateo x f!reader
wc: 1.3k | fluff
a/n: currently down in a deep hole for this man and perhaps going to try writing again cuz of him!? ngl this is lowkey half-assed im srry if it sucks SOBS + not rlly proofread..
you and mateo were basically best friends, not a second goes by where you both aren’t making great memories with each other. but, everyone usually mistook your relationship with him and was surprised to figure out you both weren’t dating. especially his friends from his workplace, whenever he wasn’t on an assigned mission or training with harbor, he was most likely with you. reyna would always try to tell him to just shoot his shot with you, because she figured out he grew feelings for you.
“mijo, I don’t understand how you two aren’t official yet.”
“I doubt y/n sees me more than that reyna..” he sighed.
“no estés triste, you’ll never know until you pop the question.” reyna tries to reassure him.
“sí tienes un punto.. but what if I ruin our friendship over it? I don’t want to scare-“ he gets cut off, when he feels the vibration of his phone. he pulls it out of his pocket, and it was a message from you.
[ y/n ]
hey!! r u down to grab some boba tomorrow? it’ll be a treat on me since you’re going on another one of those missions soon right??
he smiles at your message. reyna asks if it was you who texted, and he nodded.
“what’d she say?”
“oh she wants to grab some boba tomorrow since brim assigned me and the others a task soon.”
“sounds like a perfect opportunity to call it a date and just tell her mijo.” she chuckles, as his face turns red at the thought.
“but what if-“
“shh, I don’t want to hear back talk at me just do it you’ve prolonged it way too long.”
mateo sighs and accepts reyna’s words at last, and she leaves his office and wishes him good luck tomorrow. then he remembers he forgot to respond to your message oh shoot he left you on read. he immediately sends a quick message back so it didn’t look like he was ignoring you.
[ mateo ] i’m so so sorry I didn’t respond sooner!! :( but i’d love to!! same place & time?
to his surprise, you immediately replied back.
[ y/n ]
don’t worry about it! but yeah :D
[ mateo ]
great! see u then :p
[ y/n ]
yep!! can’t wait ^-^
he hearts your message and sets his phone aside so he could finish the last few of the assignments his mentor harbor gave him. although all he could think about was seeing you again (even though you guys literally just saw each other a few days ago). hours went by, but he managed to finish, he grabbed his bag and went home on the train with his little buddies waiting for him at the door, and he told them about his day and how he made another plan with you tomorrow! they all approved, especially wingman, he’s happy that you make mateo’s day lighten up.
then the day finally came, he woke up earlier to help his mama out with some house chores before he left the house later.
his mind kept reminding him about the words reyna said to him yesterday. he kept pondering if he should actually ask the question later when he sees you. part of him wants to do it and hopes for the best, but the other side is just scared to lose over a few words. he shakes it off, and decides to go get ready and made himself look presentable. he wore his usual vest over his black shirt and touched up his hair. he let his little fellows tag along since why not, and off they went on his skateboard.
when he made it to the shop you both agreed on meeting at, he saw you staring at your phone, probably listening to music with some earbuds. he slowly approached you and tapped your shoulder.
“hey y/n!”
you slightly jumped from the sudden touch, and looked up from your phone screen and saw the green hair boy with wingman on his shoulder.
“oh hi mateo! and aww wingman’s here too.” you smiled, taking him off his shoulder to give wingman a hug.
“hey, hey, the rest is here too, dizzy, mosh, and thrash.” he chuckles as your attention was focused on wingman. he adores that his critters and you have such a nice bond with each other, it’s too much for his heart. (he’s in literal awe whenever you’re having a good time with them)
you both finally decide to enter the shop to grab some boba after having a small chit-chat outside.
“what do you want mateo? it’s on me!”
“it’s okay y/n don’t worry about it.” he pushes away your wallet in hand, but you kept insisting. after constant bickering on who’s going to pay, mateo lost because of how persistent you were. the cashier looked so lost while the two of you were arguing and sighed in relief when you both finally agreed on something. you both got your drinks and sat down at a table, and continued your conversations from earlier. as you were both talking you couldn’t help but notice how jittery mateo was, and how he was barely making eye contact with you.
“is everything okay?” you ask in a concerned tone, putting your drink down.
“i- uh..” he mustered, trying to calm himself down.
“you can tell me mateo, what’s wrong?”
mateo started to panic a bit more, and then before he knew it he finally confessed.
“i really like you y/n!” he blurts out, and when he realizes what he said, he covers his mouth immediately. you also paused at the sudden words he just said to you. it was utterly silent for a moment, both of you trying to process what just happened. he was the first to break the silence, and apologized for his out-of-the-blue confession.
“i’m sorry y/n! i understand if you don’t wanna be friends anymore..” he puts his head down on the table in shame, face burning.
but, then the unpredictable happened, and he heard you say, “why would i think that silly? i like you too mateo,”
his head perked up, barely making eye contact with you, he asked if you were sure.
“of course mateo, i’d never think you’d ask- i’m happy you told me though i wouldn’t have the guts to confess to you,”
“i’ll tell you now y/n if you confessed i would’ve taken you in a heartbeat.. you’ve basically been there for me for the thick and thin; anyone would be lucky to be with you- soy serio,”
he grabs one of your hands, and uses his other free hand to hold your cheek, which makes you flustered. mateo still barely being able to make contact; yet still pulling off bold actions amazes you. before anything too intimate happened, wingman rushed up to mateo and pulled on his leg. he looked down, and saw wingman holding a flower, he wanted him to give the flower to you.
“gracias wingman!” he says as he fist-bumps him. mateo hands you the flower wingman picked nearby.
“thank you! that’s so sweet,” you smiled which makes mateo and wingman happy. after you finished your boba, you both decided to go by a nearby park to finalize things. (also so mateo’s buddies can have some fun) you both sat down at a bench while mateo’s critters went to play some basketball with each other. mateo tries to maintain himself so he doesn’t say anything stupid like he did before.
“so- y/n what would you say we are now relationship-wise?”
“it’s up to you.”
“okay then.. mi cariño y/n will you be se mio para siempre?”
“of course mateo, i’d love to.”
“i promise when i come back from my mission i’ll bring you anywhere or do anything for you!”
his eyes light up thinking about all the plans he’d wish to make with you. he pulls you in for a hug since he’s too embarrassed to kiss you in a public place. you embrace his warm loving hug, knowing a new chapter in both of your lives will be starting soon.
“te amo y/n.”
“i love you too mateo.”

Enough is enough (2/2)

-not my gif-
Request- Something with mason where he stops being the hands on dad that you are used to and going out with his friends whenever he is free. You try talk to him about it and it ends in a fight. You need help so you go stay at your parents for a couple of weeks leaving mason to reflect and realise what an idiot he is. He comes to see you and sort things out and the baby is really happy to see him. Happy ending please xxx
_
You left that night.
Mason came home a couple hours later to find a note you left him.
Mason,
I can’t do this anymore. I have put up with this bullshit for to long and i’m over it.You don’t care about me or your child.I need to get away from you and this situation.Eva deserves better. I deserve better. Im not going to sit around making promises to her i cant keep. Don’t reach out. I think we both need time away. I really love you and Eva does too. Goodbye Mason.
Mason being a man obviously didn’t care that you asked him not to reach out. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and started texting you non stop. He rang and rang your phone. He left so many voicemails he fulled up your inbox and couldn’t leave anymore.
Mason eventually fell asleep.
You on the other hand were still driving to your parents house, you had no idea what they would say or even if they would let you stay with them. You had no other choice. You knew mason would go to every single on of your friends house looking for you.
About an hour later you were there. Sat outside the house you left years ago not on good terms. You sat there for about 20 minutes building up the courage to ring the door bell. Finally you were ready.
Your finger hovered over the button. As you thought for a split second ‘am i actually going to do this’. You did.
You heard your mum shout for your dad to open the door. You were deep in your thoughts when your dads voice cut through them.
“y/n?” He saw your red puffy eyes. He took a while taking every detail of his little girl he hadnt seen in years. Until the landed on the baby carrier. His heart dropped. ‘He was a grandad?’
“Paul whats taking so long the house is getting cold.” Your mum muttered as she came to the door.
“Y/n baby?” She quickly noticed the baby and your crying eyes.
“Paul go get their bags.Come in sweetie.”
You entered everything looked the same. A few new pictures but other than that it was the same.
“Listen mum...” you were quickly interupted.
“Did he hurt you?”
“Mum i can..” you were cut off again.
“Did that boy lay his hands on my little girl.” your dad butted in.
“No” you finally got out.
“Look mum dad i will explain every thing tomorrow i just need to sleep.” just as you finished talking Eva started to cry.
“Don’t worry y/n we can handle her you go sleep.”
“are you sure?”
“i’m a mum remember, we’ll be fine”
you gave her a small smile before you left to go upstairs.
The next day you woke up to your phone ringing. Again and again. It seems mason had informed everyone you left and told them to try get in touch’. You replied to Lauren and Sofia explaining the whole situation and they promised not to tell Dec or Kai anything. You put your phone back on the bedside table and went to brush your teeth and do your skin care.
Just as you walked back in, your phone started vibrating. It was Mason. Again.
You don’t know what came over you put you answered.
“Y/n?” Mason said letting out a long breath.
“Mason i told you I needed space”
“Y/n please I’m sorry just come home”.
“No Mason I told you...” you were cut off by mason desperately speaking again.
“I know what you said, but I cant do this without you. Without Eva. Please. I know i messed up. I’m sorry. I’ll change.”
“Mason you know I can’t.”
“Where are you guys. I’ll come. We’ll talk. We can get through this.”
“I’m not telling where we are Mason. I’ve told you so many times. I need time and space.”
“Well I’m sorry for not want my child to stay in some random hotel.”
“We’re not in a hotel.”
“Come on Y/n, I’ve been to everyones house looking for you. Cut the bullshit.”
“NO MASON! YOU CUT THE BULLSHIT! OUR DAUGHTER IS SAFE AND HAPPY, SHE HASN’T EVEN ASKED FOR YOU ONCE! YOU ACT AS IF I’M TAKING HER AWAY FROM YOU WHEN YOU WERE NEVER THERE AT HOME. WE WILL TALK WHEN I WANT TO TALK.” You snapped at him before ending the call.
It wasn’t your ideal start to the day but what could you do.
You decided to go downstairs to get something to eat. You came down to Eva laughing at your Dad pulling funny faces and your mum cooking.
_
You have been at your parents a week now. You explained the whole thing to them expecting a ‘I told you so’ but all you got back was an apology. They said sorry for everything. For losing touch, for the way they acted the night you left and for not coming to your wedding.
You finally had decided to go home.
You packed up your’s and Eva’s things. You had an emotional goodbye with your parents and promised to stay in touch and then you were finally on the road again.
About an hour had past and you were pulling into the driveway of your’s and Mason’s shared home. You saw his car parked out side which meant he was in. You turned the car off and hesitantly got out. You were to tired to get your stuff out now so you only brought Eva’s baby bag.
You unlocked the door to see Mason stood there, he looked as if he hadn’t slept since you left. Eva was asleep as you carefully placed her carrier down. You shut the door behind you and you stood there for what felt like years but was only seconds.
Suddenly Mason started walking towards you and quickly grabbed you into the tightest hug ever. You went to speak before mason got there before you.
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I can’t live without you. I need you. You and Eva are all i will ever need. I’m a stupid idiot. I was selfish and I can 100% see why you left but I can never live without you, so please forgive me. Please give me a second chance. I will never ever disrespect you ever again. I love you so much, I need you to survive.”
You stared at him for a moment before speaking.
“You are an idiot, but I love and need you too.”

a/n: this might be the longest thing i’ve written? i had to break up the text kinda weird since some of it was too long so im sorry about that. also i listened to i need somebody by day6 while writing this
word count: 3.655
when your relationship with ethan started 3 years ago, it was truly one of the best days of your life. he was the sweetest, most attentive person you'd ever met, always making sure you were satisfied and happy with him. it was constantly you two against the world, always having each others' backs and being at each other's side the moment either of you called. unfortunately for you, nothing good ever lasts in this world, not even the relationship you thought unbreakable.
for the last few months, it seems as though ethan wants nothing to do with you, constantly making excuses as to why he can’t be with you or why he has to leave early. every time he runs out on you, you feel your heart breaking more and more, not sure how much longer you’d be able to tolerate his sketchy and distant behavior. as it turns out, you wouldn’t have to deal with it much longer, because a party that weekend is what would ultimately be the last straw.
the day had honestly started out normally, chad texting you earlier in the day asking if you wanted to go to a frat party that was being thrown for halloween. he was shocked at how quickly you agreed, but he was excited to see you nonetheless. the idea of free alcohol and loud music attracted you, deciding you’d use it as a distraction from ethan and your relationship which was slowly but surely falling apart. looking at the time, you saw you had about 7 hours before the party actually started so you decided on taking a nap for a while to pass the time, already having an idea of what you wanted to dress up as.
you woke up a couple hours later, realizing you’d slept longer than you had originally intended. you got out of bed and went to the bathroom, deciding a quick shower would be in your best interest. what was supposed to take 10 minutes ended up taking about 40 minutes, having gotten lost in your thoughts about ethan and where you guys would end up. you got out of the shower and got dressed in the clothes you had picked out for the costume and dried your hair, getting started on the makeup right after. you desperately hoped this party would really serve as the perfect distraction.
— 2 hours later — you completed the finishing touches of your costume, looking at yourself in the mirror. you smiled at yourself, satisfied with the way everything turned out. you looked at the time, cursing when you realized you were an hour late. you rushed out of your apartment, quickly locking the door behind you and making your way down the stairs. luckily the place where the party was being hosted was only about a 10 minute walk from your place, so you weren’t worried about having to take the subway so late at night. arriving to the party, you make a beeline for the alcohol, grabbing a red solo cup and filling it with whatever concoction they created. taking a large drink, you cringed at the taste of cheap liquor but you paid it no mind, quickly finishing the drink and filling up the cup again. as you went to refill your cup, you heard someone call you over so you quickly poured the mixture in your cup and headed over.
"hey smiley! we're over here!" you heard chad yell over the music, waving his hands wildly with ethan at his side looking embarrassed and, maybe even nervous or pissed off? you couldn't tell, and honestly you didn't want to know what he was thinking. nonetheless you walked over to where they were, rolling your eyes at the nickname chad gave you but a smile was on your lips no matter how badly you wanted it to go away.
"there they are! i thought you bailed on me last minute!" chad was now talking in your ear directly so you could hear him clearly. you leaned into his ear also, your voice raised slightly.
"there's NO WAY i would've passed up on free booze and weed, man!" you told him, smacking him on the chest with a laugh, taking a sip of the drink in your cup. chad simply laughed at you, nodding his head knowing you were right. before he could say anything else, tara walked in and caught his attention, causing the boy to quickly excuse himself before going after her. you shook your head and turned your attention to your boyfriend, catching him already staring at you. you felt your face get warm as his eyes trailed down your body, taking you in. you gave him a lopsided smile, hesitating a little before you ultimately decided to move closer to him. the tension in his body seemed to melt away almost immediately, his arms wrapping around your waist and yours around his neck, careful not to spill the contents in your cup.
"hey there, pretty girl" ethan whispered in your ear, placing a kiss on your neck, goosebumps rising on your skin at the feeling. you leaned your head on his shoulder, taking a moment to just breathe him in, happy that things seemed okay.
"hi pretty boy" you chimed back, a laugh escaping your mouth as you saw the visible red tinge on his cheeks even in the shitty lighting. he just shook his head and kissed your cheek, taking another moment to look at your costume.
"you look like, really good babe" he commented, feeling your confidence shoot up a bit. right as you went to say something back about how good he looked in his knight costume, you felt a tap on your shoulder. you turned around, confused as to who the hell was interrupting your rare moments of peace with ethan. you were faced with some blond boy who was obviously wasted, but he still had a smirk on his face that made your skin crawl.
"hey baby, ditch this loser and come dance with me. i'll make it worth your while" he spoke in a disgustingly flirty tone that made you want to vomit. you tried your best to keep the grimace off your face and forced a tight-lipped smile to your face, shaking your head and giving him an answer that would hopefully satisfy him and make him leave.
"i'll come dance with you later i promise" you replied tensely, hoping he'd get the hint and leave you alone. in his drunken stupor, he didn't seem to sense the frustration lacing your voice and nodded, the smirk on his face ever present. he walked away, rambling about how he's gonna get lucky that night. turning back around, you didn't expect to see the look of anger that ethan was currently wearing and it scared you if you were being honest.
"eth, what's wrong? why are you looking at me like that?" you asked, your stomach sinking when he all but shoved your hands off of him. “You’re seriously gonna ask me that right now?” he scoffed at you, shaking his head and shoving past you. It took a moment for you to follow behind him, standing there in disbelief at how quickly his mood turned sour. When you reached him, you grabbed his arm and forced him outside, not wanting to argue in front of a bunch of strangers. He tugged his arm out of your grip, acting as though your touch was burning him.
“What the fuck is going on, ethan? Why are you treating me like that?” you exclaimed, trying not to raise your voice too much in order to avoid onlookers. Ethan just looked away, his jaw clenched so hard you were afraid his teeth would crack. you pushed that thought to the back of your mind, though, because you needed answers, so you walked right in front of him, crossing your arms over your chest.
“well? are you gonna tell me what i did to deserve this type of treatment?” although you tried to sound to sound strong, the desperation was evident in your voice, wanting to know how you could fix things.
he stayed silent for a moment before speaking up, his voice distant and cold, “i’m not in the mood, so maybe you should just go hang out with one of the many guys you’ve allowed to flirt with you.” for the second time that night you were left speechless, not understanding why he’d say something so absurd.
“baby, what the hell are you talking about? you’re the only one i want to spend my time with!” you were moments away from crying out of frustration, wishing he’d just be straightforward about what’s bothering him.
“are you sure about that? because you seem pretty fucking happy when someone offers up their number or offers to take you out." he practically scolded you; all you could do was stare at him, bewildered at the fact he thinks you could somehow be happy with anyone that isn't him.
"ethan, i have no idea what the hell you're talking about. why would i be happy with some freak?" you retorted, waving your hands around. he simply let out a humorless laugh, crossing his arms across his chest. then he spoke the words you never in a million years thought he'd tell you.
"you know what, y/n? i don't care anymore. we're done." as soon as those words left his mouth, he shoved past you roughly, leaving the party without telling anyone. you on the other hand, you were frozen in place with tears clouding your vision, not wanting to believe he had ended things so easily, as if ripping your heart out of your chest and stomping on it was no big deal. you were so deep in your head that you didn't even know anika and mindy were next to you, jumping when you felt a hand on your shoulder.
"hey bub, what happened?" anika asked you, concern lacing her voice as she took in your shaking figure and bloodshot eyes. you shook your head, not wanting to say the words, knowing your heart would break all over again at the realization of what had transpired minutes prior, but they eventually came out.
"he broke up with me" your voice was wobbly, the pain evident to the two girls in front of you; anika was shocked, she never thought ethan would be the type to leave you heartbroken in the middle of a party. mindy, however, was pissed at the tall boy; what the hell was his problem? why would he break up with someone as caring, sweet, and kind as you? whatever his excuses are, she was already planning on giving him a piece of her mind and hopefully beat some sense into him.
"oh honey, i'm so sorry. do you want to go home? we can get the rest of the group together to watch a movie or something if you'd like to?" anika murmured, rubbing a hand up and down your back in an attempt to soothe you. all you could do was let out a shaky breath and nod your head, not trusting your voice quite yet. mindy squeezed your hand, mumbling to anika about going to collect everyone else, letting her girlfriend console you since she was better at it. she guided you back inside to the front door, telling mindy that they were going to wait on the sidewalk instead to get away from everyone else.
about ten minutes later she walked out with everyone tailing behind her, chad immediately heading towards you to wrap you in his arms, placing a kiss to your forehead. tears immediately sprang to your eyes but you forced them back, not wanting to cry on the side of the street; instead, you wrapped your own arms around his waist, feeling grateful that you had chad and everyone else as your best friends. after a minute of just standing there with him, you forced yourself to stand tall and put up a facade, no matter how much it hurt. you unwrapped yourself from chad but still stuck close to him and anika, needing their presence to feel grounded as you spoke to the group.
"thank you, and i'm sorry for ruining the fun. if you want, you guys can go back inside and enjoy the party while i head home" you insisted, feeling the guilt creep in at the fact that they were going to miss out on a party just because you were upset. what you didn't expect, though, was mindy to scoff in disbelief and look at you as if you were crazy.
"there's no way we're going to leave you alone right now! you're clearly hurting and are in desperate need of some group lovin', so be quiet and accept that you're not going to win this argument" she rambled with a small smile on her face, her hands moving wildly at her sides as your friends nodded. you couldn't help but let out a laugh at seeing her behavior, her smile growing at the fact that she was able to cheer you up, even by a bit.
acknowledging defeat, you decided to just go with it, "okay fine! i won't argue with you, especially because it'd be pointless knowing how relentless you can be." this caused tara and chad to let out a cheer, glad that you were deciding to not shut them out. you smiled and shook your head, forever thankful that you wouldn't be going through this alone.
--1 month later--
despite having an amazing support system, the last month had consisted of some of your lowest moments. every morning when you woke up, you'd expect to find ethan laying next to you, his curly hair sticking out in every direction, but the hole in your heart only grew as you felt cold bed sheets each time. you hadn't spoken to him since that night, but the pain and sadness was slowly turning to anger; anger because of how he acted childishly and only considered how he felt, not taking into consideration how his actions would affect you.
unbeknownst to you though, was that ethan was equally as miserable and angry as you were, but the anger was directed at himself once he realized just how badly he had fucked up, which chad never failed to remind him of.
"what the hell were you thinking man? how could you just break her heart like that? and with some bullshit excuse too." he told the taller boy one day, still upset at the fact that his roommate and friend had been so cruel to the one person that didn't deserve it. at his question, ethan just let out a deep sigh, rubbing his hands over his face in frustration.
"fuck, i don't know. i was just feeling insecure at the fact that they'd always be smiling whenever someone was flirting with them and i got into my own head, deciding that distancing myself and basically breaking their heart was the right way to go about it" he lamented, his teeth sinking into his bottom lip hard enough to draw blood but he paid it no mind, too occupied in trying find a way to make it up to you, if you still wanted anything to do with him that is. seeing the doleful expression on his friend's face, chad felt a tug at his heart as he recalled that exact same look on your own face just a few hours earlier while he was hanging out with you.
"look man, i promised them i wouldn't say anything but it doesn't matter; they're really fuckin' pissed at you for what you did to them, but they're also just as miserable as you are even though they try to hide it. i know that if you got off your ass, went over there, and gave them a real explanation and showed you're willing to fight to get them back, they'd forgive you. they're still stupidly in love with you after all" at his words, ethan's heart sped up, a wave of anxiety fluttering in his stomach--you were still in love with him? but would you actually take him back? at this point, ethan didn't care, he just wanted to make things right with you. jumping up, he ran to his room and threw on a hoodie and some shoes, rushing out of the dorm before chad could say anything else.
taking the subway to get to your apartment across town, ethan was painfully aware of his clammy palms, rubbing them on his pants with a grimace. time seemed to speed by because before he knew it, he was already standing in front of your door, having been on auto-pilot throughout the short trip. right as he was going to knock on your door you opened it, clad in one of his shirts and shorts; the sight had him reeling, realizing that chad may have been right. unfortunately, he didn't have a chance to speak before you went to slam the door in his face, leaving him speechless with a pain in his chest, but he didn't come all this way just to give up. he knocked on your door this time, speaking through it in hopes that you would open up again.
"baby please, i just want to talk and apologize for what i did. you deserve a real explanation, not some bullshit" he begged, ready to fall to his knees if that's what it took. luckily for him, you had opened the door once again, a small smile ready to grace his features but upon seeing the blank expression on your face, it fell just as quickly as it came.
glaring at him, you pulled the door open all the way and stepped to the side, your voice as cold as his was that halloween night,
"hurry up. you have 10 minutes to explain yourself and then you leave." it was more of a command than anything else, and your icy tone terrified ethan because he had never heard you speak that way, but instead of commenting on it he just rushed inside before you decided to change your mind. he sat on your couch, his whole body tense but happy nonetheless at the fact that you were willing to hear him out, albeit begrudgingly. ethan rubbed his sweaty hands up and down his thighs once more before he took a deep breath and began his explanation.
"that night…that night is one of the biggest mistakes i have ever made in my life. i had one too many drinks that chad made me drink, and it brought all my insecurities to the surface. seeing you smile at that guy that night after he so obviously flirted with you just made me feel so angry, and i know it seems like a terrible excuse and you're probably right, but the drinks mixed with the thoughts already in my mind, i took it out on you and hurt you on purpose and it wasn't fair to you at all. i knew i fucked up the moment i walked out of the house, but i figured you'd want nothing to do with me afterwards so i never made the effort to reach out. this last month, though, has been one of the worst months of my life. i've missed you so much and i realized that i can't do this without you by my side."
by the end of his rambling, ethan was completely out of breath and his eyes were burning from the tears that had begun gathering in his eyes but he didn't care, he needed you to know what had been on his chest for months. you simply stared at him, your eyes glossy with unshed tears of your own and you sniffled, feeling the resentment towards him slowly melt away. you kept your guard up though, not wanting to put your heart out there just yet, scared that it would be broken all over again. noticing your hesitation, ethan stood up and walked in front of you, slowly grabbing your hands and intertwining your fingers. you looked up at him, removing your hands from his and throwing your arms around his neck, tugging him as close as possible to your body. he let out a breath he didn't know he was holding and placed his own arms around your waist, hugging you tightly. the tears finally fell from your eyes and this time you didn't try to stop them, not caring if his sweater got dirty, not that he minded either.
“i wish you would’ve told me how you were feeling instead of icing me out, eth. i could’ve helped you or done something to make you feel better, you know.” you muttered into his neck, not wanting to move from your spot in his arms, and he just nodded his head softly, his hair tickling your ears.
"i'm so sorry, sweetheart. i love you more than anything and i'm going to do anything i can to prove it, i'm never letting you go again" he mumbled into your neck, unsure if you heard him or understood him for that matter. he knew you heard him when you tightened your grip, placing a small kiss to his neck before pulling back and placing your lips on his, relishing the feeling of them on you for the first time in weeks. ethan moved his lips against your own slowly, moving one hand up to cup your jaw, keeping your face as close as he could. you pulled away after a minute, giving him the first genuine smile you've had in a while. ethan felt his heart speeding up at the sight of your pretty little smile being directed towards him for the first time in nearly two months.
"i love you too, e. also just know i am gonna hold you to that promise" you teased lightly, already feeling your heart being mended at having your boy in your arms once again; you'd have to thank chad for smacking some sense into the both of you.

Rachel Daly x Reader
Part Fifteen - Going Nowhere
Rachel piggy backed you out of the club and bundled you into a taxi with everyone else to head back to Mary’s house because according to the others, it’s the biggest. Everyone found a bed, you and Rach took the sofa but your eyes weren’t ready to close just yet and asked if you could use the hot tub, Mary said yes but to be quiet. Leaving your clothes at the door you both creeped out to the garden in wearing your underwear and lowered your bodies into the warm pool, feeling the warm bubbles coat your bodies was bliss. Sinking onto Rachel’s lap to kiss her, “have I told you how beautiful you are today?” she said clutching your face “well it’s after midnight sooo… no” you giggled “how did I get so lucky?” she whispered stroking your cheek as you watched a tear roll down from her eye. You wiped it away asking what was wrong “Nothing baby… they’re happy tears” a small forced smile appeared on her lips “after dad passed I didn’t think I would ever be happy again but then we won the Euros and although I was so happy, I was sad he was missing out on the highlight of my career… but then I found you. Now when I look up to the stands, although I don’t see him, I do see you and I never want to not see you there. I don’t wake up sad anymore, I wake up smiling every day, I go to bed smiling every night and I never want to lose that” as she finished her sentence more tears came pouring out as she rested her head on your shoulder. You took a few moments to think about what to reply “do you wanna know what I said when Millie asked where I saw us going?” Rachel nodded “I said, if it was up to me…” you paused as you pulled her onto your lap and took her head in your hands. “I’d marry you tomorrow” you told her honestly as her eyes widened “I’m not going anywhere” reassuring her as you wiped her face. Rachel took a sharp breath in hearing you say that, you saw her noticeable gulp… “I’m so in love with you (y/n)” she announced with you both smiling “I’m madly in love with you Rachy” as you placed a soft kiss on her lips. “Do you wanna know the best bit?” lifting her off you leaving her legs still draped over yours “dad’s watching” you squeezed her as she looked up at the millions of stars above. She laid her head on your shoulders “he’d be so happy right now” she whispered “he is baby, look they’re all twinkling” as happy tears left both of your eyes you sat there looking up at the sky until the sun began to rise. You got out of the hot tub to dry off then you carried her to the sofa where she fell asleep on your chest.
You woke up around midday to the murmurs of the others standing in the kitchen talking “look at them, you can’t tell me they’re not in love it’s so obvious to everyone” you heard Beth say. They were looking at the back of the sofa so couldn’t see your eyes open, you just laid there listening to them stroking your girl’s hair until her eyes opened as well, you put your finger to your lips for her to be quiet and moved your eyes towards the kitchen so she got the jist. “We’ve never seen (y/n/n) like this, she’s so happy all of the time you can tell how in love she is from the way she looks at her!” you heard Katie say, Rach leant her forehead against yours smiling uncontrollably “They’re just trying not to rush things too much, they only met not long ago, obviously they love each other they don’t need to say it because they both know” Millie said supportingly.
“We said it last night actually!” Rachel blurted out, you both giggled to each other as they all came running to the sofa “tell us everything!!” your besties shouted at the same time “who said it first?!” Mary quipped. Millie didn’t say anything and just sat on the arm of the sofa with her hand on the back of Rachel’s head smiling for us. It meant so much to have such supportive people around you. “(Y/n) said she’d marry me tomorrow” “omg you told her!” Millie said excitedly “then Rach said she’s in love with me” you exclaimed “then (y/n/n) said she’s in love with me too” Rachel finished softly stroking your face. “I’m so glad you’re happy Rach, you of all people deserve it” Millie said as she bent down to kiss both her friends on the head. “Yeah we’re so happy for the both of you” Beth said. Georgia crouched down to your level “I hope you know we’re not letting you go to Aus until you tell us all the details”. Everyone’s mouths dropped as she said that and all at once exclaimed “you’re coming to the World Cup?!” You confirmed this and the girls got excited “this is gonna be soooo much more fun!” Mary already planning the TikTok’s “how’s that gonna work Rach?” Millie asked bringing us back down to earth. Rach explained she was going to talk to Sarina today to see what they can do to get you on the same flight and in the same hotel and assured you she’ll make it work. Millie said she’ll go with her and plead your case which was nice.
“Right guys you’ve all gotta go cause I’ve got lots to do today” Mary announced. You all collected your things and left the house. Rachel and Millie were heading to Sarina’s office and you took Georgia and Katie home. You both spoke to your friends about your evening, not leaving out any details.

Chapter 27
I had only just fallen asleep two or three hours ago when the sound of clanking in the kitchen sends me shooting up straight. I'm frightened before I see Mia's head bobbing up behind the island. I twist to see Lana on the bed, pressing a pillow against both of her ears to muffle the sound.
"Mia! You woke her up!" Lana whisper-shouts, chastising her from across the room.
Mia turns with an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry. I wanted to make you pancakes but you have, like, almost no food here."
"It's hiatus," I yawn, "That's pretty much the only time I have to go grocery shopping. I will actually have to do that now that there's no crafty."
Mia gingerly places a bowl on the countertop, grimacing at me. Lana groans, flopping back down on the bed. "It's a good thing you're cute."
Mia blushes at this, before I can practically see the light bulb go off behind her eyes. "I know, I'm going to hit the corner store real quick and then I can whip you both up some pancakes and start off vacation the right way."
"You don't have to, Mia." I say, struggling to get the words out. Water. I need water.
She waves her arm in front of her face, shooing away the notion. "It won't take any time at all." She gathers her wallet from the floor, slips on her heels, and puts her hand on the doorknob.
"Uh, honey?" Lana says, sitting up again. "You're still in your party dress."
Mia frowns, glancing down at her sparkles. "So?"
"So, it's very...revealing. And it's very early."
"Hm, you're right.... Maybe I'll get it for free!" Mia winks, slipping out of the door before Lana can say anything.
I can't help but laugh as Lana groans again. "I mean, you didn't really think that would stop her, did you?"
"If it did, she wouldn't be Mia." Lana's tone is teasing, but it's full of adoration.
"How does she have this much energy? She was plastered last night."
Lana shrugs. "One of her many gifts. She's never suffered from a hangover."
"Speaking of..." I get up from the couch, pouring a glass of water for us both which Lana accepts with a tired smile.
"What time is it?" I ask.
"About 7 I think."
I lean to my bedside table where I thought I had left my phone to charge, but to my disappointment, I realize that I had left it next to the charger. I check it anyway: still dead. I plug it in before guzzling back my water and leaning against my headboard.
"So, you know I'm gonna ask, right?" Lana quirks a brow at me from the corner of my eye. I give her a quizzical look.
"About where you disappeared to last night. Anything to share?"
"Now? Lana I barely slept last night."
Now she looks a bit concerned. "Why? Did you drink too much?"
"No, no. Definitely enough to feel secure on the dance floor," Lana chuckles at that, "But...I don't know. I have a bad feeling."
I tell Lana about last night, sparing her most of the sensual details, but telling her about me and Javi's rendezvous all the same. I tell her how worried I am about the door, and that we can't be certain no one saw us. She listens intently, sipping her water. When I'm done, she looks thoughtful for a moment.
"Do you think, and correct me if I'm wrong, that maybe you're looking for something to be wrong? Maybe...maybe you haven't felt this way in a really long time. Maybe he treats you really well, and it's scary. Different can be scary, even if different is good."
I pull back to look her directly in the eye. "Who gave you permission to be so wise this early?"
She whacks my arm. "You didn't answer the question."
I hesitate. "I think...you could be right. But I also know that we heard something and it's not out of the question."
Lana nods. "I agree."
We sit in silence, thinking for a minute or two.
"He did give me something sweet last night." I reach out my wrist to her.
"Oooo," Lana coos, turning the bracelet over. "An airplane?"
"Mhm. He said it was for conquering my fears. That I should get a new charm for every place I travel."
Lana's eyes shine as she pinches the tiny plane. "I know that, whatever happens, even worst case scenario, we'll be there for you. Mia and me, and Javi, too."
I nod, leaning my head on her shoulder. "Thanks, Lans. Maybe I am thinking only of the worst case scenario."
Lana pats my knee. "Well, if you didn't, you wouldn't be Ava."
I hit her gently, laughing as she tugs away.
Not even five minutes later, Mia knocks at the door. When we open it for her, she has two large shopping bags balanced on one hip.
"You guys! There's a channel five news van parked across the street. Do you think there's something being filmed here?" She plops her bags on the kitchen island, reaching down to slip out of her heels again.
Lana waves her off as I make a move to finally use the bathroom. "They're probably taking a nap before reporting somewhere else."
Mia looks slightly disappointed.
"What are we having?" I call from the bathroom.
"How do we feel about chocolate chip?" Her smile is so wide, and with her shopping bags contrasting last night's ornamental dress and heels, it makes me burst out laughing for no reason at all.
We spend the rest of the morning entertaining Mia as she cooks for us. Chocolate chip pancakes, as promised, as well as scrambled eggs, fresh orange juice, and bacon. We have a feast on the floor of my apartment, watching old movies and recapping the night before. Mia, true to Lana's words, remembers everything despite how far gone she had seemed. They both told me about a man dancing behind them who kept offering to buy the girls around him drinks, probably hoping that they didn't know it was an open bar.
"Dwayne made that joke last night, but he was definitely kidding...I think" I muse.
"No, this guy was so earnest, I almost took him up on it." Lana says, taking another bite of her bacon. I laugh.
"I can't believe my apartment is capable of producing such good food." I hum, reaching for another pancake.
Mia clears her throat.
"With your help, of course. Seriously, Mia, this is amazing."
"Thank you. Keep me in mind for craft services on the next film you finance."
"Oh, I will."
We all take a small nap in the afternoon which does help ease some of my anxiety. The pit in my stomach is still there, but it's covered in a soft layer of chocolate chip pancakes.
By the time that the girls go home and I take a proper shower, I'm starting to feel like maybe, everything is okay. I check on my phone afterwards, dropping on my bed in my towel. I bite back a smile, seeing that I had a missed text from an hour ago.
Javi: How you holding up today?
Me: Tired. I didn't sleep much last night. And...sore ;) how are you?
He answers back a few minutes later.
Javi: Sore huh? I wish I could help you with that... In meetings all day today.
Me: Meetings? It's a Sunday
Javi: My manager doesn't believe in weekends. Already focused on the next project
I hadn't thought about where Javi's next project might take him. I hadn't thought about much beyond getting work done and making sure the number of people who discover us is kept to a minimum.
Me: Do you know where that might be?
Javi: Still up in the air. I'm reading a couple of scripts tonight. They'll have to actually want me of course in order for anything to move forward
Me: They'll want you. Speaking from personal experience lol
Javi: I'd be happy to give you more experience in that department, anytime
Me: Thanks. I'll keep your business card handy
Javi: Please do
I nearly jump when my phone begins to ring in my hand. My mom. I take a deep breath, answering after the third ring.
"Hey, Mom."
"Hi sweetie. Your last movie just ended, right?"
"Yes it did. We just had the party last night."
I can hear football scores being broadcasted on a TV nearby. The sound slowly fades as I assume she moves into the kitchen.
"Oh good! Your father and I wanted to ask if you'd like to come home during this hiatus. We didn't get to see you during the last one." I can tell she's trying to keep her tone light, but I know it hurts them not to see me in so long.
"I would love that, Mom. I usually take some of my online courses during break but I could always work on them there. As long as you two don't have anything too big planned."
"No, no. Nothing wild. We'd just like to see you."
My heart tugs. "Let me think about some dates. I can see if I have any miles saved up..."
"Dad and I want to fly you home, our treat. It will be like an early Christmas present." Christmas was practically half a year away. And knowing that I will finally be able to breathe, maybe have some extra time with my friends and Javi, it isn't making me want to visit home right away. I might need a few weeks here.
"That's sweet of you guys. Let me look at some flights tonight and see how I can time it. I have to meet with my boss a few times during the break so I'll check in with him and call you back once I know more."
"Sounds good!" She sounds significantly more cheerful. "I'll talk to you soon. Love you, honey."
"Love you, too."
There aren't too many things I miss about the East Coast, but they sure are one of them. I check my email, yawning as I mark days and times on the calendar that Dwayne had mentioned beforehand. Then I search some available flights, looking for the cheapest possible option. Even looking through the website sends my heart into a bit of a panic, but I try playing with the tiny plane now attached to my wrist. Hoping it will remind me that I conquered more than one flight already this year.
My eyes grow heavy and I glance at the time on my laptop. 7:00pm. Drastically early to go to bed as a twenty-something on break from work, but I'm not sure I can fight it much longer. I hardly slept last night, and though the nap earlier helped ease some of my anxiety, the rest of my body still craved rest.
I fall asleep with my laptop still open on the other side of my bed.
- - -
The next morning, I'm irritated to find that I didn't plug in my phone. Again. I need to put a sticky note on my bedside table to remind me. Thanks to it's already dwindling battery yesterday, due to my same mistake, it's dead. I plug it back in, correctly this time, and go to wash up and blow-dry my hair. Afterwards, I make my way to the kitchen. Though there is one pancake and some orange juice left in the fridge courtesy of Mia, she had a good point. There was hardly anything here since I came back from Italy, and there wasn't much there to start with before I left. I down the last of the orange juice, nibbling on the last cold pancake, as I change into jeans so I can run to the store. I decide to leave my phone here so I can have a full charge when I get back. The grocery store nearest to me is only a few blocks away, and it's early so it shouldn't be too hot. I place some sunglasses on my head before slinging my tote bag over my shoulder, and step outside into the early morning light.
The first thing I see are two large, white vans parked directly across from my front stoop.
The next thing I see are what feels like hundreds of rapid flashes exploding in my face.
I hold up my hand, trying to block it from my eyes. There must be at least eight photographers, at least from what I can make out in between photos. I walk off my stoop, down the front steps, assuming that they mistook me for someone else. Maybe that's why Mia saw one van out here yesterday. I'm about to turn to walk toward the store when I hear a man shout something that makes my blood run cold.
"Ava! Ava Cohen! Over here!"

Stay close (Natasha Romanoff x Fem!Reader)
Summary: Natasha comes back from a long mission and you, being her clingy girlfriend, just want her to be close to you.
Warnings: Not really, it's mainly fluff. English it's not my first language, sorry if there are any mistakes in this.
Tumblr media
Today was the day. Natasha would finally arrive to the compound after two long months.
Her mission was supposed to last only a couple of weeks, but Fury required more information and Natasha had to obey.
You took a quick shower and got dressed with one of your girlfriend's t-shirts. You are aware that you will see her in a few hours, but you missed her and her scent. Wearing her clothes was something you used to do whenever she went on a mission, and sometimes she did the same thing with your clothes when it was your turn to go on a mission.
You left your room and went straight to the kitchen to eat something, finding Wanda right there. "Good morning!" You greeted.
"Aren't you supposed to be training?" Wanda asked you when she saw you making yourself a sandwich.
"I got injured, so Steve told me I could have some free days." You explained.
You trained everyday and always spent several hours in the gym. Three days ago, while you were lifting, you felt a cramp in one of your arms. It was usual but this time the pain was terrible, so you went to Bruce's office. He told you that your body needed some rest and you would be fine in a week or so.
You didn't feel pain anymore, but your teammates wouldn't risk your health and safetyness. And at some point it was because, yes, they cared about you a lot, but also because Natasha would kill them if something ever happened to you.
After eating breakfast with Wanda, she went to the gym to train. Usually, you trained with her and Natasha, but since you couldn't train and your girlfriend was on a mission, Wanda had to train with Bucky and Sam for a few more days. And it was because Natasha refused to train everytime she came back from a mission, she just wanted to stay close to you whenever she's back, and so did you.
It was almost 6 p.m. which meant Natasha should be in the compound at any moment.
You had prepared a little surprise, you bought her favorite candies and got a nice bracelet for her, which had a magnetic charm that connected with the one you were wearing to, forming a little heart.
"I think it's too much." You sighed and Wanda shook her head.
"She's gonna love it, I promise. Besides, you know her more than everyone else, you should know she's gonna be excited when she sees the bracelet."
You smiled and nodded, Wanda was right. Behind her cold shield, Natasha was actually adorable and sweet, she was so romantic and a little bit corny sometimes, but you loved that about her.
"Y/N?" Wanda called you.
"Yeah?"
"Stop thinking about Natasha, you didn't even listened when I told you she has just arrived."
"Of course I was listening to you!" Wanda raised her eyebrows at your words and you went silent. Did she just...? "She's here? Like right now?"
"That's what I was sayi-" You didn't let her finish because you started running to the hangar outside the compound. "Should've seen it coming."
Natasha smiled when she got off of S.H.I.E.L.D's jet as she saw you running towards her. She opened her arms and you huger her, envolving your legs on her waist and your arms around her neck.
"I missed you too, detka." You both got separated just enough to share a loving kiss. Damn, you really missed her.
You woke up next morning and smiled instantly when you felt Nat's arms aroun your waist, hugging you tightly. You put your hand over the wirst that had the silver bracelet you gave her and played with it a little bit. You felt happy remembering how excited she was when you gave it to her, she instantly loved that bracelet and wasted no time putting it on.
"Morning, babe." She said kissing your head.
"Morning, Nat." You turned around so you could bury your face on her neck and she laughed a little when your breath hit her skin.
"It tickles." She told you and you smirked. You started kissing her neck and her breath hitched on her throat. "Y/N, baby."
"Yes, Natty?" Just when she was about to answer, you both heard someone knocking at your door. "Come in."
"Are you both dressed in decent clothes?" Wanda asked and you and Nat laughed when you saw her covering her eyes.
"We are. You're safe, Wands." She uncovered her eyes and waved her hand to greet you.
"Breakfast's served, hurry or it'll get cold... or Thor's gonna eat your food."
Natasha started getting up, but you stopped her. "Stay close to me." You told her, a pout forming on your mouth. Nat chuckled.
"I'm right in front of you, malyshka." She said and you got up, hugging her by her back. "Y/N! Thor is going to eat our food if we're not there right now." She said laughing.
"Let's go then."
Natasha put her arms under your thighs and got up with you still on her back. And all of your teammates' eyes were on you both when you arrived to the kitchen.
"Finally, the lovebirds are here!" Tony teased.
"Shut up, Stark." Nat said and you got off of her and started walking towards Wanda to help her and Nat took a seat next to Steve, who was a little bit nervous. "All good?"
"Y/N got injured under my supervision, I'm sorry!" Steve shouted and Nat frowned her eyebrows before looking at you.
"I'm fine." You assured. "My arm doesn't even hurt anymore."
"That was all?" Nat asked, containing her laugh. Steve sighed and nodded. "Ok, Cap."
You and Wanda got back with napkins and some mugs for the coffee and tea, and before Natasha could even move, you stared at her with puppy eyes. "What's up, detka?"
"Can I sit on your lap?" You murmured so only she could hear you. She smiled and nodded. As you sat, Natasha's arm circled your waist and kept you close to her body, just how you liked it.
The end, hope you liked it :) I'm thinking about a 2nd part tho.

Don't let my Sunshine fade
Guess who woke up and choose violence again, yup. Me. Let's pretend this isn't related to the fact that I miss someone.
Aether was a stranger to most, aside from his floating companion and the whispers of his deeds, not many actually knew him personally, and those who though they knew him only say the outer surface. That smile that shines just a little to bright to distract from the dullness in his eyes. No one ever saw the scars that begun to collect on his skin, or the way his hair became messier and messier until it looked like knots instead of a braid. No one saw the late nights, when he couldn't even bring himself to look at the moon because it reminded him of his sister too much. Then you had found him, he wasn't sure about you first but you didn't cause him any trouble so he didn't deny your request to join him.
"From the Adventurer's Guild you say? Alright... Oh you traveled with Bennett? Heh, yeah I almost feel bad for him. Oh don't worry! We won't get to into too much trouble." He had given you that same smile, but you saw how it didn't reach his eyes.
He didn't expect much from you honestly, he was just so used to it being him and Paimon. You were an interesting person don't get him wrong, he's just grown a little bit mistrustful of people and by now he's realized anyone would manipulate him if they knew his weakness so he'd listen to you to talk but don't expect him to say much about himself.
You sat at a campfire in Liyue, talking about an adventure you had gone on in Dragonspine that led to you nearly freezing. His laughter seemed so genuine, so warm. You saw he wanted to speak, but he stopped himself.
"Why don't you tell me a story of your adventures? I'm sure you have lots!" You asked with wide eyes, already leaning forward to better hear him. The blond only smiled and shook his head before Paimon begun recounting a fight and he just relaxed again. You've noticed lately his hair hasn't been as messy though.
The two of you had a few fights, mainly about how closed off he was. He didn't understand why you cared so much, and you didn't understand why he didn't care.
"Just drop it already," he groaned, walking away. Always running. He never changed did he?
"Aether." A hand on his shoulder made him pause and turn, golden eyes widening as he saw the look on your face. Fear? Sadness? There were tears, but you also seemed surprised?
He didn't have time to ask however as he found your lips on his. He had been kissed before, some better than this, others were worse but he didn't push you away. He couldn't push you away, because if he did he'd be alone again. So he pulled you closer and closed his eyes, praying to every archon that this wouldn't end.
You were something of a miracle, he decided. You were never truly mad at him and you were never too upset that you would walk away, no matter how many times he told you to leave. You were stubborn, but he liked that.
You were uncompromising when it came to his health, and you didn't let him go days on end without treating his wounds. He was healing. "Hey Y/n?" He looked at your hands that were wrapping bandages around his arm. You hummed in aknowledgement, lifting your head to look into his eyes. They were brighter now than when you had met him. The dark circles weren't as prominent now.
"I ... I love you."
You smiled and kissed his forehead before returning to work on his arm. He didn't need you to say the words back, he had figured out a long time ago how you felt. Why else would you put up with him?
He was hesitant about telling you about him, and most of what he initially told you was stuff you had already picked up on. His fears, his likes, you knew them just from your journey with him but you let him explain them anyways, because this was progress. This was him trusting you.
"Oh did you know that I don't actually like lightning? It used to not bother me honestly but, well I met the Raiden Shogun and... I guess that kinda speaks for itself huh? I even got a pretty sick looking scar from where she struck me with lightning- oh? You wanna see it?"
Maybe it wasn't so bad to open up. Especially when you leaned closer, eyes focused on him with that twinkle. He wondered how you could look so angelic. One morning you had woken him up before the sun had risen and wanted to show him something.
"Shhh, don't wanna wake Paimon," you whispered and grabbed his hand, leading him a few feet away to the edge of a cliff. You sat down and patted the grass, inviting him to sit with you. You both sat there and watched the sunrise together.
"It's beautiful."
"Not as beautiful as you..."
He turned to look at you, meeting your eyes and blushing. How could you be so genuinely sweet? "You're too sweet you know, makes me wonder some days."
"At least I know I'm on your mind." You hadn't meant for it to sound teasing but he looked down at his hands in his lap, blushing even more. He loved you so much. He truly did.
He healed, he realized one night as he looked at the moon. When had he started doing that again?
The moon hadn't been there when you first met him, but for awhile now he's been admiring the way it's light shines on your skin. The way you slept beside him, holding Paimon as the two of you snored. He gently stroked your cheek, freezing when you begun to stir and sighing when you settled down. "You know, you'd get along with Lumine... You're both so stubborn." He chuckled softly as you slept so peacefully and leaned over to kiss your cheek. "Rest well angel." He then pulled the blanket back over him and laid down once more.
Fate was cruel however, and Teyvat was an unforgiving land. He would have laughed if he wasn't spitting up blood, vision hazey as the flames around him grew higher and higher. Maybe he shouldn't have gone alone. Who was he to take on another archon? He was reckless, and when they had found his weakness he had abandoned rational thought. He really should have gotten a different sword by now. He had the mora for a better one, he should have known that dull blade was going to break after everything it's been through. He pressed a hand to his side, trying to keep pressure on one of his many wounds as he scrambled to sit up. This couldn't be the end could it?
You found him sometime later, a heavy trail of blood led straight to him as he sat under a tree, chest heaving with labored breaths. His eyes, oh how they shined as they saw you, brighter than the sun or any star. A bloody hand reached up to your cheek.
"Angel?"
You hated how his voice shook. How his eyes filled with tears and without a doubt you hated the blood staining his clothes. He was only holding on by a thread. You dropped to your knees beside him, grabbing anything from your bag you thought could help but froze as you felt his cold hands on your wrists.
"Watch the sun with me?"
"Aether..." You looked at him, and you froze. The softness in those eyes- he had already accepted his fate. With a sigh, you moved to sit beside him and he rested his head on your shoulder.
"Did I ever tell you about how my sister and I would watch the sunrise and sunset together before we left a world? She used to drag me to these open grassy fields and we'd cook our favorite meals while we waited for night to come and we'd talk about all our favorite memories of that world."
"That sounds fun... Be sure to tell her about me will ya?" You were glad he couldn't see the tears falling as you messed with his hair.
"She'd love you I think... But don't forget you're my angel." He tried to laugh but it came out as a dry cough, more blood spewing from his mouth.
You watched as the sun set, and the moon rose. Cuddling Aether close you fell asleep with him only to wake up sometime later to a new voice singing. It was a song you had never heard but the source was someone that felt so familiar. Her yellow hair and white dress reminded you of someone and you felt you were dreaming as she sang so softly.
"... You'll never know dear, how much I love you. Please don't let my Sunshine fade away."
She was gone when you woke up the next morning, the only sign she ever existed was a strange flower lying in the grass between you and Aether. The blond smiled as you awoke and kissed your forehead. "Good morning angel." His wounds were healed, by some miracle.
"Morning... Sunshine." You said softly as you rubbed your eyes. Aether's smile only grew wider.
"My sister used to call me that." He hugged you, "But I like it better from you."

There's something wrong with Manager Kim YN Part 26
I'm so fucked up
YN took a deep breath, unsure how he was going to take this.
"I made contact with Ari's dad, three years ago. I'd landed in LA and had been feeling sick. I got tested and found out I was pregnant. I messaged him to tell him, but he said that he didn't want kids and didn't care what I did with it."
"Who is it, do I know him?" Jin asked standing up.
"We're not here to judge you YN. Just support you."
YN inhaled deeply. "If you hadn't come over it would have been even harder. But then Jackson had his world tour and it seemed a perfect excuse to live in a bubble for a little bit longer. But now, there's no avoiding it."
Jin held the bridge of his nose, looking up at the ceiling. "It's Yoongi isn't it?"
The words he knew, but dreaded to say out loud came true.
"Then you told me he has some on off girlfriend, the same woman I was sent to him because of, and he still went back to her," she scoffed in disgust.
"Even so, I can't believe he doesn't want to be a part of your lives," Jackson couldn't quite believe it.
Jin was picking up his jacket silently to leave when YN grabbed his arm.
"Seokjin don't do anything. Please," she saw the locked jaw and grew concerned. "Let me handle it."
Jin sighed deeply, "I ought to kick him out the fucking group, and then run him over and then back over him for good measure. Then rip him limb for limb."
"I'll get the shovel," Uncle Kim proclaimed.
"And I'm reporting for limb ripping," Jackson raised his hand.
"No one will be doing anything. No shovels, or breaking limbs," she warned them all, trying to not wake up the sleeping child next door.
"Fine," sulked Jin, "but if he provokes me then it's not my fault," he warned pulling on his jacket. "I need to go think."
Tumblr media
"Seokjin! You don't have to leave to go think," YN called back to him but he wasn't listening.
"I think he um, took it well?" she looked at Jackson nervously.
"Damn, hyung, he just needs some time to adjust," Jackson pulled her back, "Truthfully I think I need some time to let it sink in too."
"Do I need to give you space too?" she asked sarcastically.
"A whiskey will do for now," he said pointing at the bottle on the table. "I'm sorry that you had to keep this to yourself for so long."
**
Yoongi woke early, unable to sleep. His time keeping had become atrocious but he was going to try.
"Hey man," he smiled fist bumping Hobi and Jimin. "You okay?" Jimin asked, as Namjoon drank his coffee and they waited to go up for some recording sessions.
"Yeah, fine."
Jimin nodded, "That's good man. Just cause YN is back, we hope you and her can be civil." He waved off behind Yoongi.
"Hi!" he giggled in a kiddie voice. "I'll catch you in a minute bro," he dashed over to where YN and Jungkook were standing talking. His vision was soon filled with the little girl he caught a glimpse of yesterday.
Yoongi smiled, she was dressed cutely, like a little lady as she squealed in excitement as the boys were playing hide and seek with her.
"Whose that?" Yoongi asked.
"That's YN's kid. So cute she is, look at em, she looks just like her," Hobi looked over at them.
"Her husband not with her?" he looked to Hobi, who shrugged his shoulders. "Jackson? She never told us if they were together, and we never asked. We didn't want to assume anything, or be rude. It must be Jackson right?" he spotted him arriving holding a child's bag.
"The two of them are pretty close, actually when you look at her, she looks a bit like him if you squint," Hobi waved to YN, "C'mon let's go say hi."
Yoongi stood hesitantly by himself, looking over at them, but his feet were already walking towards them.
"Hey," he said to the group.
"Hey Hyung," Jungkook smiled back.
"Am I your favourite now?" Jungkook asked.
Ari giggled, "no silly," as he pouted which made her laugh even more.
YN laughed nervously, as an oblivious Jungkook continued teasing Ari.
"Hey guys, who's this?" Yoongi finally smiled, lowering his mask.
YN caught Jackson's jaw tense up briefly. She looked at him, and they exchanged silent glances with each other.
"This is Ari. My daughter?" she looked a little confused.
What a dick. Here he was acting like he had no clue who she was.
"Hi, I'm Yoongi."
He shook her little hand. He noticed the bright hues of hazel in her eyes, the clearest eyes. Eyes that looked just like YN. She was definitely YN's daughter, her skin was a light tan, akin to his ex-wife.
"Hi," she said shyly, still staring at the man.
"Hey there Princess," Yoongi spoke with care.
YN wasn't happy with this little exchange, but didn't know what to say.
"Jackson, it's been a while," he reached out his hand politely to Jackson, who was caught off guard and could only nodd and shake it back. "How are you?"
He looked back at YN, suddenly it was like no one else was in the room.
"This is both yours daughter?" He asked a little surprised at his own question. He shouldn't have asked it, but somewhere deep down, somehow he hoped he was wrong.
"She's my princess," Jackson replied "Ain't you princess?" he gave her a snuggle and kiss.
Uncle Kim appeared, "The car is ready."
YN zipped Ari's coat up.
"Let's go Mama." Ari held out her arms to YN.
"Mama's coming sweetie, I just need a word with Yoongi here."
"Yoogha come too," Ari reached out to Yoongi demanding he pick her up.
Yoongi reached out but was cut off by YN who ushered her towards Jackson.
She waited for everyone to leave, snapping her head back.
"What the hell are you fucking playing at?" she growled quietly, pushing his chest with a finger.
Yoongi took a step back holding onto her wrist, in shock. "Woah woah what the hell did I do?"
"You know exactly what you didn't do. And then you come walking over like everything is fine? Do us a favour, keep away from me and my daughter. Only speak to me if it's about work."
"No I won't keep away from you. I ain't going no where Mrs Min."
YN took a moment to realise what he had called her. "I'm not your wife anymore."
She looked at him sad, as the shock of what he had spoken made him freeze and let go of her hand. Watching her storm off leaving him standing.
What the hell just happened?
What am I supposed to have done?
Why was Jackson being defensive with me? We got on well..there must have been a misunderstanding or something..
And why the fuck did I call her wife?
God I'm so fucked up.
Puzzled, he caught sight of her give him a disappointed look as she finally got into the car.
Tumblr media
She didn't reply back.

“What about you, Sheriff? What’s your scariest story?” Shooter asked. Sheriff froze where he was seated and thought for a moment, his expression giving away that it was something big. Shooter saw that as an exciting adventure, or another one of his farts coming. Sheriff took a deep breath and avoided looking at them, now staring out into space.”Well…. When I was younger, when my brother and I were still trying to get the pig farm going to survive, we had to sleep in a tent for a while. Once we managed to get a house, I was relieved. It’d be harder for them to get to us. I’m not supposed to talk about them, folks used to say it attracts their attention, but I have quite a few stories from encounters with them.” He started, his tone giving away some kind of seriousness they haven’t heard before.
“These things are so nasty, the mutants wouldn’t want them, and neither would the devil. It’s hard to tell which encounter was the scariest, they all gave me this feeling of dread, even more so after the first encounter because then I knew what they were, but I’ll tell you of the first time I saw one. Like I said, it was long ago, when my brother and I were young. We were…. I was seven and he was ten, if I remember correctly.” He continued. Brutux put a bookmark in between the pages he was reading and closed the book, now a bit intrigued in their little storytelling.”It was a few months after we started living in the tents at the farm. I mean, we were already living in tents as far back as I can remember, aside from a few faint memories, but it was a few months after we started the pig farm to try to earn an honest living. In the last few weeks sleeping in tents, we noticed weird things happening and my brother suddenly wanted to be around me more and more. I didn’t know why at the time, but looking back now, I realize he was anticipating an attack that eventually came and wanted to at least be close enough to me that he could faster step between me and any danger charging towards me. But he was actually just an unprepared as I was for what happened that night.” Sheriff said.
Vegan Su paused cleaning the one of the jeeps and decided to listen as well.”With all the weird stuff happening, which was… things like footprints of animals that didn’t live there, claw marks that didn’t fit the animals of the area on the fence, just stuff that didn’t add up or match, we were somewhat on edge. Whatever it was, it was clearly dangerous, and we were children, so of course we were scared to fall asleep. But we did anyways. At some point in the night, I think it was close to sunrise, I woke up because it was quiet. I don’t mean peace and quiet, it was almost the opposite, actually, with how quiet it was. It was too quiet. Quiet enough that I could hear my own heartbeat, and something was telling me that things were very wrong. Then I noticed a figure outside the tent, it looked like it was staring at us. It was so tall, it looked like one of those mean guys from the nearby town and I temporarily froze. I eventually worked up the courage to move and woke up my brother. I whispered to him that there was a tall thing outside. Never in my life had I seen someone go from grumpy and groggy to fearful and alert so fast. He whispered to me to lay back down, he said what it’s name was and told me to stay still under the blankets. To this day, I wish I had listened. After a while, it started moving around the tent, as if inspecting from the outside. The tent was pretty worn, so there were a few small holes. I peaked through and what I saw would haunt me forever…. It froze and turned to me as soon as I saw it, as if it felt me watching it and knew I was awake. I quickly hid under my blanket and so did my brother. Luckily, it went away after what felt like hours. I was so close to crying and was honestly scared to breathe, thinking if it heard me breathing, it’d come for us. The way it moved around was… wrong. Just wrong.” Sheriff’s face was beginning to pale, and he probably didn’t realize his face giving away a look of terror and dread.
Clearly, it was something really serious. Shooter almost asked him to stop since it was clearly bothering him.”We stayed there, refusing to go back to sleep until the sun came up completely. We didn’t go outside until it was midday, and we asked people in the nearby village to let us stay in one of their houses until we saved up enough. A woman was kind enough to let us stay as long as we liked. After that night, I couldn’t sleep for 2 days after that, probably would’ve stayed awake longer if we were still living in tents. My brother and I shared a small room, so it wasn’t any terrifying journey down the hall for comfort if I had any nightmare about it. I still do, and of other encounters, but I like to think that I’m unbothered by the nightmares at this point.” Sheriff finished with a smile as the color returned to his face. The room went dead silent, and for a few good seconds, someone probably could’ve heard a pin drop.
Then Sheriff stood up and stretched, popping the joints in his arms and legs with a yawn.”Well, I’m heading to bed. Goodnight, everyone!” He said with the same bright smile as he walked out of the room and down the halls.

He woke up and the phatnom pain slowly faded. It was so wierd dying not from your own wounds. He looked around and saw Scar. He was pale and shaking.
"Scar?" he asked worried "Don't be sad I'm not angry"
But as Scar turned around slowly Grian knew it was something else.
"Scar? What happend? What's wrong?" he tried to ask but Scar wasn't reacting. "Scar listen to me! It's okay you're safe now" he tried to touch him on the shoulder but Scar pushed his hand away.
"Scar! You have to tell me what happend!" he didn't like shouting at him but he had to.
"It's like... like I was back there" started Scar with a shaky voice "Like they were... killing me... again"
"Back where? Scar I know it's hard but you have to tell me" Grian thought back to Evo. It was hard to open about it for him too. But when he did everything was easier. And he hoped it will also make it easier for Scar.
"If you open up you'll feel better I promise" he said
"I will?" asked Scar with tears in his eyes
"You will"
"Oh, I don't actually know where to start... It feels so long ago..."
