But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

As we stand at the cross of Christ we see a glorious exhibition of God’s love. Paul wrote, “While we were powerless to help ourselves . . . Christ died for sinful men.” In human experience, it is a rare thing for one man to give his life for another, even if the latter be a good man, though there have been a few who have had the courage to do it. Yet the proof of God’s amazing love is this: that it was “while we were sinners Christ died for us.”

Prayer for the day

It is beyond comprehension the love that took You to the cross for me. Humbly I praise and thank You, my Savior and my Lord.

“Whenever anyone asks me how I can be so certain about who and what God really is, I am reminded of the story of the little boy who was out flying a kite. It was a fine day to go kite-flying, the wind was brisk, and large billowy clouds were blowing across the sky. The kite went up and up until it was entirely hidden by the clouds. “What are you doing?” a man asked the little boy. “I’m flying a kite,” he replied. “Flying a kite, are you?” the man said, “How can you be sure? You can’t see your kite.” “No,” said the little boy, “I can’t see it, but every little while I feel a tug, so I know for sure that it’s there!” Don’t take anyone else’s word for God. Find Him for yourself, and then you too will know by the wonderful, warm tug on your heartstring, that He is there, for sure.

Prayer for the day: Thank You for loving me, God. This knowledge never ceases to amaze me. I praise and love You, my heavenly Father.”

Billy Graham will always hold a special place in my heart, because I went forward at one of his worldwide evangelistic tours, many years ago. That was the day I became a follower of Jesus. 🙂
