Other Cities:
As someone on my survey responded with Concert Square in Liverpool as a source of what they would want in Bournemouth, I decided to research it.
"Concert Square is located between Wood Street and Fleet Street in the Ropewalks area of Liverpool City Centre. The square continues to evolve and has been at heart of Liverpool’s nightlife for over 20 years.
The best nightclubs and bars in the city, and the North West of England, are in the area. Whether it’s a cocktail or pint, meal, booth booking or a cocktail class there’s something for everyone.
Concert Square – Complete nights out
A 2019 survey of university students in the UK found two Liverpool universities ranked amongst the top 5 for nightlife. Concert Square was cited as a factor for this!
Most of the bars and restaurants are open from 8am to 4am daily. You’ll find Bold Street at it’s doorstep as well as the Bold St area which is jam-packed with independent retailers, bars and restaurants. If you’re here for a stag or hen night, then look no further! Concert Square is centrally located and within short walking distance from the local hotels".
Boxpark: "BOXPARK launched the world’s first pop-up shopping mall in Shoreditch back in 2011, and has since become a staple of the East London scene. The retail revolution built from shipping containers effortlessly fuses the concepts of the modern street food market and the pop-up shopping destination.
With its unique approach to shopping and dining, BOXPARK gives you a variety of both familiar and independent brands to shop along with the convenience of stopping for a bite to eat. The award-winning site stands proudly in the heart of London’s Shoreditch and is home to a community of carefully selected brands specialising in fashion, arts, food and drinks and an ever-growing events programme from some of London’s very best promoters".
I was inspired to look at Boxpark in Shoreditch as I've been here and found it such a cool place that easily hosts different vendors, helping support small businesses and creates a unique space for people to meet and socialise. They have since opened up different venues due to it's success mainly centering around London such as Croydon and Wembley but also in Liverpool and Birmingham. I wanted to use Boxpark as inspiration for how the physical aspect of this project may work, possibly using abandoned department stores/shops in Bournemouth to host companies like this to create an inclusive student space.

"Cargo is a relatively large container park with approximately 35 local businesses operating out of it which has swiftly become not only a destination in its own right, but a wonderful community for the retailers who operate there, and a fantastic attraction to those looking for new homes in the development."
"With regular events which see the retailers working closely alongside and supporting each other, Cargo really is a great example of the retail world being fantastically alive and kicking, just in a slightly different guise.  The community spirit and fun atmosphere translates into the customer experience and makes Cargo a place you want to keep going back to."

I have just noticed that many tourists who come to Birmingham do not make any research about the different places they can visit here. Birmingham is not just about the City Centre. Try to go outside the city Centre and explore the whole west Midlands and you will see the real beauty of this place.
For First Timers, I'll try my best to give tips for anyone:
If you are using the train to come here, I advice that you get a Day Trip Pass Ticket which usually costs around 7 to 8£. You can use this to visit the different towns west midlands via TRAIN and BUS. (Trams are not Included)
The City Centre:
First have a walk along the New Street once you got outside of the Train Station, or Corporation Street( Which is around the corner if New Street). From there, you can walk to the Victoria Square where the Birmingham Museum is located at. You can also walk through the Chamberlain Square and take some
photos of the fountain.
From there, walk further and turn left, you can see the Largest Public Library in Europe. The Birmingham Library. You can go there inside free of charge, go to the top which will give you access to the Rooftop Lounge.
After visiting The Birmingham Library, Walk to Broad Street, and there you will see the commemoration photo or chair for Black Sabbath (Metal Rock Band). If go downstairs, it will lead you to a canal. Birmingham has the largest connection of Canals in Whole Europe, Larger than in Venice, Italy. There are many independent Indie pubs, restaurants along the canal. At the end of the canal, it will lead you to Either The Mail Box Mall or the Utilita Arena (Major concert Stadium) in Birmingham. There's also a Sea Life Aquarium Nearby if you are into those things.
From the Mailbox, you can continue walking until the end exit of the building. It will lead you to the Birmingham China Town. If you like Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, Malay and Thai food, There's a food Court that I can recommend called "Asia-Asia".
Chinatown is also near the gay village, if you are into those kind of things, then China Town is the best place for you.
Now, let's proceed to a different place called Digbeth, where all the underground clubs and pubs are located at. It's the "Hood" as what they may call it. Digbeth is home of the different Street /Wall Arts in Birmingham. So many nice shops and small restaurants are located there.
Other Place I recommend is the Jewellery Quarter, It's home of the famous Jewellery Factories which account 40 percent of the Jewellery production in the UK. They also have a museum there for jewellery enthusiasts.
Now a little far a way from the City Centre, Let's visit the University of Birmingham. One of the kost Prestigious Universities in UK. The campus is soooo huge and the buildings are scattered around the forest. You can take a train from Birmingham New Street and drop off at the "University Station". From there you can Visit the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Top 4 best hospital in UK) and the University of Birmingham. The Admin Campus is home of the Tallest Independent Clock Tower in the world. "The Old Joe". If you are familiar with Lord of the rings and the Monster INC Animated film, both towers on the movies are inspired from the OLD JOE.
If you have time, I also recommend visiting the Aston Hall (One of the most important palaces in Birmingham). They have a very good garden outside and the entrance fee was around 11 to 13£ If I can still remember it right. The Last Entry for the Aston Hall Museum is at 15:00H. The Aston Villa Football Stadium is just located beside the Aston Hall.
Another Place to visit is the Cadbury Factory Museum (Good for kids). Birmingham is the origin if Cadbury Chocolates. There are many nice small villages and shops outside the cadbury museum. Just walk further and you can visit the Selly Manor Museum along the Sycamore Road.
on the other side of Birmingham, try taking a bus going to Canon Hill Park and enjoy the nature. You can also visit the Birmingham Bitanical Garden which is just located nearby. Outside the park, you can find the famous Edgbaston Stadium. (Home of the best Cricket players in the UK).
If you like going to zoos, castles and a fan of peaky blinders, you have to visit the town of Dudley. There is also what we called the "Black Country Museum". It is an open museum which depicts the life of the British people during the Industrial Revolution. Some of the settings of Peaky Blinders were taken here.
Another beautiful town I recommend is the Warwick. They have a very nice park and Castle. You can see the old buildings and houses that were built during 1500's. I love this place so much.
If you are a fan of "Romeo and Juliet" written by William Shakespear, you have to visit the town of "Stratford Upon Avon". There you can see his birthplace and the preserved house he used to live in.
Another City I recommend is Coventry. Coventry has many Museums, Home of the Coventry Cathedral which was bombed during the World War and many Asian Restaurants. There are many Korean and Chinese Restaurants to eat in.
Facts:
1. Birmingham is the Second Largest City or Metropolitan Borough in the whole UK, Next after London.
2. During the World War, 90 percent of all the beautiful Establishents were destroyed. They had no choice but to rebuild the whole city again from scratch.
3. Birmingham is home of the Industrial Revolution in The UK with great contributions around the world.
4. The Old Joe is the tallest free Standing Clock Tower in the world (Located at UOB).
5. Birmingham has the highest number of younger youth in whole Europe.
6. The city is home of the largest Canal connections in whole Europe.
7. Birmingham is home of the Metal Rock Genre. Many famous Singers and Bands came from Birmingham.
8. It is home of the Cadbury Chocolate.
There are many inventions made in Birmingham and they are too many to mention. You can google it. Thanks.
I hope this may help!

When you google Jasper Mall, the first thing that comes up is not a shopping center, but rather a documentary. Created in 2020, and with a run time of 85 minutes, Jasper Mall is a short documentary chronicling the business owners and regular visitors to the place. The creators wisely opt for a kind of "fly on the wall" filmmaking approach and let the interviews structure the film and there are no grand pronouncements made or a tidy message tacked on to tell us how to think about the material presented. I think what sticks with most people, myself included, when they watch the movie is its earnest portrayal of the different lives, which make their mark on the mall. Its clear from the film that the town has a strong social investment in the mall and doesn't want to see it die.
Even in 2023, when the headwinds against mall culture are stronger than ever, it still feels like people are committed to keeping their mall going as a community institution. Though anchor spaces may languish, there are still signs of a new business or two opening in the mall interior and hoping to fill the void. While Jasper is a 40-minute drive from Birmingham, the rugged terrain and lack of strong retail on Interstate 22 between the two municipalities ensures that the mall still has a decent trade area to draw upon.
As much as I love traditional cities, the truth of the matter is that the mall was the dominant "third place" for my generation. A lot of downtowns were still quite moribund in the late 90's and early 2000's, so chances were good that your local regional mall was a place you hung out at often or at least had important, formative memories at. In smaller cities, like Jasper, Alabama, cities that are too small to qualify as urban, but big enough at one point to sustain a mall, the retail edifice is still a place where the social rituals of small town life play out. I'm confident that given enough time people will rediscover the social virtues of traditional urbanism, but for the time being, the mall still retains its position as a communal gathering place for those who live outside the major metropolitan areas.
The informal social ties offered by such a place were on full display when I arrived. I visited the mall on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Since it was the middle of Football season, many people were wearing Alabama shirts and sports paraphernalia and all the radios and televisions in the mall were immersed in the sports coverage of the day. While I sat down for lunch at Garfield's Restaurant, I struck up a conversation with an older woman who called the region home. She mentioned her love of gospel music and how long she had lived in the area. While the mall corridors and stores may be languishing some, Jasper Mall still serves as an important community gathering point and as a place to watch the social rituals of life unfold.

The films and photographs of British artist Gillian Wearing (b. Birmingham, 1963) explore our public personas and private lives. This Turner Prize winner’s remarkable works draw on fly-on-the-wall documentaries, reality TV and the techniques of theatre, to explore how we present ourselves to the world.
Wearing’s portraits and mini-dramas reveal a paradox, given the chance to dress up, put on a mask or act out a role, the liberation of anonymity allows us to be more truly ourselves.
The exhibition begins with the artist herself, dancing in a shopping mall, blissfully unaware of her bemused audience. The idea of performance continues with works including Wearing’s 1997 masterpiece, 10–16. Adults lip synch the voices and act out the physical tics of seven children in a captivating film which moves from the breathless excitement of a ten year old to the existential angst of an adolescent.

Good morning! I hope you slept well and feel rested? Currently sitting at my desk, in my study, attired only in my blue towelling robe, enjoying my first cuppa of the day. Welcome to Too Much Information Tuesday!
It was 38 at Kew Gardens on Monday, topped only by Birmingham which was hit with 39 degrees Celsius. So, how did you cope? Thankfully, the classrooms were air conditioned. Sleeping last night was pretty difficult, though. Big shout to the menopausal women reading this! You girls must be super-hot (in more ways than one!) They tell me today will be hotter? Working from home today. Can’t say I’ll be wearing much (if anything!)
Okay, on with the information. 21% of men use big words they don't understand to make themselves feel more photosynthesis.

It's a bit of a cheek asking, “Are trade unions being greedy?” for asking for a pay rise. The FTSE 350 top companies’ profits have gone up 73% since 2019. When are we going to ask if they’re being greedy?

Okay, that’s enough information for one day. Thanks for reading all the way to the bottom of my status. Many people don’t like reading. It’s too much hard work. So, I thank you for giving me five minutes of your day. Have a tremendous and tumultuous Tuesday! I love you all.

❤️ How to predict WHERE you're going to meet your future spouse through Astrology ❤️
hi guys! in today's post I'm going to show you how to find out where you'll meet your future spouse through your birth chart. this technique was discovered by the astrologer Kapiel Raaj, and it's based on vedic astrology. hence, you're going to need your sidereal birth chart to calculate this. if you already know how to do that, you can skip this part.
first of all, go to astro.com > horoscope and then click on extended chart selection.
Tumblr media
add your birth data by clicking on the 'add a new person' button. it's necessary to have your accurate birth time for this, as it's based on your ascendant.
Tumblr media
then scroll down and click on options for zodiac and houses. choose the whole signs house system and then click on sidereal. after that, choose 'hindu/lahiri' on the ayanamsha button.
Tumblr media
after you've calculated your chart, it will be something like this (this is angelina jolie's sidereal birth chart):
Tumblr media
to calculate where you're going to meet your spouse, we need to first of all take a look at the 7th house lord, which is the planet that rules your 7th house. in this chart it is saturn, as she has capricorn in her 7th house. now that you know what is your 7th house lord, look at where it's placed in your chart. also, keep in mind that since this is a sidereal technique, we're only going to take in consideration traditional rulers, therefore aquarius is ruled by uranus, pisces by jupiter and scorpio by mars. angelina has her saturn in gemini in the 12th house. the opposite sign indicates the circumstances or directly the place where you're going to meet your spouse. in this chart, it is sagittarius. keep reading for an explanation of each sign!!
