#God listened to me

Good Morning!☀️
Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. Psalms 116:2 KJV
When we talk to someone, we want them to listen to us. We expect them in some way to indicate they are listening, especially if they can not stop doing what they are doing at the time. We may even ask them, "Are you listening to me?".
The writer of Psalm 116 did not have to question if God had listened to him. Past experience had taught him that God heard and listened to him. When we question whether others are listening to us, they may reply, "I heard you!" but they can not repeat back what you said. The psalmist has no such problem with God. He knew God had listened because God responded to his cries and met his needs time after time!
Keep calling on the Lord. His ear is turned towards you. He will hear, he is listening, he will respond as he has many times before!

Something I think about a lot is how Rick Riordan very rarely uses "girlfriend/boyfriend" to refer to Percy and Annabeth within their perspectives. They're so intertwined, even Annabeth says in hoh that the word boyfriend isn't strong enough, because Percy was a part of her. They are a singular soul, too wrapped around each others' fates that regular labels are far too weak for them. But, Rick Riordan uses "boyfriend" a lot in Nico and Wills perspectives, not because they love each other less than percabeth, but to show how much the word means to them. Nico uses it any chance he gets- "his boyfriend," "he actually had a boyfriend," because Nico has never been able to say that before. Their struggle with their queer identities mixed with Nico's catholic guilt and chronic everyone-hates-me disease makes the fact that he has someone to call his actual boyfriend so much more important to his character development.

It is a good thing that the BG3 team is attentive and we get updates all the time, but where does it end? If they are going to continue changing stuff about the game per request, what will be there left of what they envisioned in the first place? Especially for character traits and dialogue, like making them kinder and more likeable, just because there were two more people asking for it and they happened to see it. I just don't want to see characters shift into generic ones just because of a need to respond to everyone's ideas

they need to bring back those photoshoots that they did in the 90s of random dykes and dyke couples they found on the street. idc about glamorous celebrities i want the grimiest rudest hairiest lesbians they can find and i want to see u put them in front of a bluegrey backdrop and tell them to do whatever the fuck. and i want u to take their picture. ask them dumb questions make them laugh get footage of them showing u around the city or introducing u to their cat or something and then put it in a zine so i can absorb it. butchfemme//butchbutch//femmefemme//dykedyke rep is dismal in this digital age of unsexy nudity and hairlessness and im so sick of it im going to start yelling and throwing things

local cis man makes a “joke” tiktok that excludes trans men from the phrase “trans people” and mocks the music we make based on a stereotype that’s already been mocked to death, then makes a follow up video directed at the trans men who told him it wasn’t a funny joke or just made them feel shitty where he just doubles down and says the joke was fine because it “wasn’t serious” and that the trans men who didn’t like it are “directing their energy in the wrong place”.
maybe one day cis people will learn that 1) most trans jokes simply are not for them to make, regardless of how funny they think the joke would be, and 2) it’s not for them to decide if the trans people they chose to joke about are allowed to be upset that the joke was made. i honestly wouldn’t have even bothered making a post about this if it was just the original video because a lot of trans people also make jokes like this (which i still don’t think are funny or fair) so he could be forgiven for thinking no one would be upset, but the doubling down really rubs me the wrong way.
like, if we can’t even trust cis people to listen to our feelings on something as silly as a joke tiktok about music, how can we trust them to listen to us when it really counts? you can say it’s not that serious all you want, but when it’s already been demonstrated that you don’t always know how something will actually affect trans men, can you really expect us to trust that you’ll know when it is that serious?
because the message that response sends is this: “i find you fun to laugh at, but i don’t think you’re worth the trouble of caring about your feelings. i would rather enjoy myself and entertain others at your expense.” and is that the kind of message you want to send to anyone, especially a group of people you seemingly interact with enough to be familiar with the jokes made about them in their community? even if it wasn’t anti-transmasculine, it would still just be mean, and it’s certainly not a message that will make us see you as trustworthy when shit gets bad.
