I keep seeing you mention Bart as the "Scariest YJ member" and I would love your full analysis of why that is (aka I kind of want to explore writing evil/morally grey YJ but i'm not as familiar with canon stuff)
Thank you in advance and btw always love your stuff <33
I'll warn that I'm not as familiar with Bart's canon, but yes he does scare me. I'm struggling a bit to put it into words, but hopefully this is close.
The other YJ members are obviously powerful. Tim and Bart are the only ones to probably be underestimated by a new villain. Tim's completely human, and Bart keeps up a demeanor of being a bit of an air head.
However, Tim is extremely intelligent and willing to go to lengths that aren't considered morally okay. Every hero and villain knows that, though. He's Batman's protege. Everyone knows the Bats are a paranoid bunch, probably have contingency plans against you, can beat you in a fight, and that Tim is considered a genius. He's a threat, and if you underestimate him, he'll ensure you never do again.
Bart? He's insanely smart and has a photographic memory. He is an overall great guy, but he was raised in a virtual reality of the future. He had accelerated aging until his morphological age of 12, or the chronological age of two. He most likely doesn't have the same ties to social standards of acceptable behaviors and acceptable levels of violence. Before he was zapped into the past, he also was dealing with world ending perils. I'm not sure I'm explaining this right, but Bart is like a hidden danger. He's bubbly and kind personality wise, but he knows how to vibrate your skeleton out of your skin. He might be impulsive and he might talk a lot, but he can and will obliterate you.
He purposefully doesn't threaten people. Kon could stand there glaring to intimidate people. Cassie too. Tim would raise an eyebrow as he dares you to cross him. Bart? He doesn't really try to intimidate. He can, he could list the various ways he could utilize the speedforce to cause you excrutiating pain, but he doesn't. If he did intimidate someone in that way, he would immediately switch back to jabbering on about this or that with a happy demeanor. The others don't have as tight of a claim to a bubbly personality as Bart.
Bart is consistently overlooked and underestimated by the hero community and villains. His demeanor causes people to lower their guards and underestimate him (whether intentional or not). If Bart would go evil, I think he would act the exact same. He would babble on about positive and happy things as he kills people. He wouldn't be much different from how he currently is if he committed atrocities, and that's scary.
Hopefully, that kind of explains why he's so scary. He hides how insanely powerful he is (intentionally or not) and isn't taken as seriously. His team knows better, but everyone else? No.

Idk if I already screamed about this but I'll do it again. The way Childe realizes there was a disconnect between his opinion (or what he'd been told) about Arlecchino and the reality her kids live in, and then IMMEDIATELY jumps on the opportunity for more information.
He's a smart lad! He's sitting around getting juiced up by a child without adult supervision like "this isn't how kids act when their father is insane and evil. What gives?"
(also that these kids are alarmingly similar to his own siblings and that he can't keep his head in the sand about how much he cares. They're not faceless Hearth soldiers anymore. He's invested)
So he goes up to Alrecchino later and the Traveler is conveniently there to give him extra leverage, so he just starts asking Arlecchino questions! And he threatens her!! Because while he is willing to change his mind, he's just gotta let her know that he cares about those kids and Will fight her about them.
Which in turn, massively improves Arlecchino's opinion of him! I feel very strongly that she wants people to see her as an antagonistic force against her own children so they're more likely to support the kids. The whole "omg your dad sucks. I'm here for you whatever you need." So, when Childe threatens her, she's like "Ah. You're doing exactly what I had hoped you would."
I forget if he threatens her before or after she actually starts answering questions. I think the theory stands either way, but there's more evidence if she gets much more forthcoming AFTER he threatens her
Idk. It's a huge mark for a character's intelligence that they can piece together THEMSELVES that their ideas are wrong and then go out and correct them.

Assistant Noah's World Tour!
After Newfoundland...
Noah listens as he hears Alejandro angrily rant in spanish, while brushing his teeth.
The sarcastic assistant is covering his mouth and trying his best not to laugh, as he stood near the confessional door.
Apparently, the charmer doesn't like the sock flavored chowder that Heather made for him.
Even though Noah mostly forgives Alejandro for almost leaving Owen behind back in the Amazon, he may have been the reason Heather had gotten Owen's socks in the first place.
Alejandro opened the door to give Noah the stink eye. Did he already find out what Noah did?
"I'm glad that you find my suffering so hilarious." Alejandro grumbled.
So, he didn't.
Noah shrugs with a chuckle. "Well, you were kinda asking for it, considering that you tricked two guys into kissing fish and stole Heather's possible alliance with DJ."
"What can I say. She had a clever idea and I wanted to steal it for myself. And be honest with me Noah, would you rather kiss a fish or have someone else do it for you?" Alejandro asks smugly with a raised eyebrow.
Noah squints his eyes and purses his lips. "...Touche."
"That's what I thought, amigo." the charmer then winks playfully, wrapping an arm around the assistant and leading him to first class.
Noah leans into Alejandro's touch, the back of his head by the taller man's strong chest, as he asks a curious question. "By the way, how did you have time to paint those eyes on the fish?"
"I'm sure that you're smart enough to figure that out on your own."
"I thought you were supposed to be a gentleman."
"Come now Noah, we both know that I'm not."
As they entered first class to enjoy its comforts, Noah allowed himself to get lost in his thoughts.
Noah wishes he could hate the guy. He wishes he could hate the True Alejandro as much as the Fake Alejandro. He wants to hate that greasy eel. It'd make things so much easier. But the truth was, he didn't hate him at all. The true Alejandro was clever, crafty, cunning, a bit dorky and had a sense of humor that Noah could appreciate. The Fake Alejandro was just a Spanish Prince Charming Wannabe.
Alejandro's brain was even sexier than his body, and that was saying something. It was the thing that drew Noah in, made him want to be near him, even when he knew it was wrong. It was the one thing that made Noah feel like he wasn't the only one with a mind like this. They were two misfits who had found each other in this mess of a competition, and somehow, it worked. It was a strange, twisted sort of bond that they shared, and Noah wasn't sure if he could ever explain it to anyone else.
Although Noah acts like he's not interested, deep down he honestly wants nothing more than to drag Alejandro to the cargo bay and kiss the beautiful, brilliant evil genius all day long. It's the last thing he'd ever admit to, but it's the truth. They could give Bridgette and Geoff a run for their money.
Even though the True Alejandro is interesting and fun, at the end of the day, Alejandro is only here for the money. He doesn't care about Noah or anyone for that matter. Noah has seen with his own eyes and Alejandro himself told the assistant. Nothing and nobody else matters. Only the million dollars matter.
As much as it hurt Noah's little heart, it's the truth and the cynic can accept that.
He accepts it... if only he knew about the conflict in Alejandro's own heart.

Hot take but
It isn't that vlad is evil
He's just so stupidly traumatized, depressed, angry, just upset in multiple ways-
His best friend, whom he'd trusted with his everything sent him to the hospital, his best friend stole the woman vlad cherished and adored during college, they got married WITHOUT him, they had children while he can't have his own due to the one woman he'd loved so much with all of his heart get taken from him, he was left to rot in the hospital. Alone and terrified of what was going on(more than likely lost alot of sleep) and the trauma from all of this(or trauma in general) could really mess up somebody's mind in more ways than one. I know vlad was kind of stupid for putting his face directly in front of the ghost portal but not everyone thinks before they do something until it's too late— like we're all guilty of that. Especially when something is turned on without our knowledge of it BEING turned on. None of them knew it was going to just blast vlad in the face like that, I know but that's not the point.
The point is vlad had all of this done to him by jack alone(yes i know other people believe vlad is just as much to blame) but we're talking about the past, not now. Vlad is smart, he can come up with things on a whim, he can create CLONING devices ffs, has the literal intelligence to create a fully functioning hologram of maddie who literally made a jack program(im assuming cause ain't no way vlad made it) herself, etc.
But due to everything that has happened, he can't be or act like a regular person ever again. All of that at once was too much from the two people he'd trusted most and it broke him entirely. Around jack, he acts like he usually did in college. But inside, he gets hit with flashbacks that would usually trigger a panic attack but every time he sees jack, it causes rage instead.
Jack has everything vlad ever wanted yet never got. And as episodes continued, vlads usual facade was slowly fading to reveal how the accident really made him because his mind was slipping more and more until he'd snapped at jack during phantom planet. Yet instead of getting vlad any sort of help that he desperately needed, jack left him to rot in space. Where(without AGIT) he more than likely was killed by the 'Disasteroid' which, I remind you, is harmful for ghosts to touch.

About 498 and the changes which I think could have been better
minor Spoilers ahead‼️‼️
I think this could be easily avoided actually . Taejin is evil no question about that . But the attempt to r*pe part wasn't actually necessary.
Let me explain- now Taejin is basically Shaman 2.0 in almost every aspect. PTJ could rather make him evil and smart . Now that he's the "owner" of Cheongliang, first what he had to do was gain more popularity among the villagers. Then his position as the new Shaman would be secured enough.
Now , knowing how much possessive Taejin is towards things that he this "belongs to him" , he'd obviously go for Vin , Seongji And Sujin . he'll never be able to convince Vin to join him . BUT Seongji knows that he can't stay in Cheongliang as James might come back to fight him - so if vin joins Taejin as his yaksha the villagers won't cause him any harm . So he advises him to do so . But vin doesn't understand him . He thinks Seongji is saying that as he got tired of babysitting them .So they get into an argument . And Seongji starts to have a panic attack and attacks Vin . Vin is shocked by this and as he doesn't know about Seongji's condition , he leaves immediately.
MEANWHILE, Taejin is totally aware of what's going on. Cause this is what he had planned - making Vin and Seongji Fight eachother to death so there's be no one in Cheongliang to go against him . But this isn't enough, so to execute his plan to the final stage he uses Sujin - he kills her and frames Seongji for her death (pretty much what happened in 498 but without that part ) only Jaewoo witnesses Taejin leaving the Seongji's Hut so he goes to the hut and sees Sujin dead and Seongji unconscious - he tries to wake him up but fails so he chases Taejin and asked him what he did to them and he sees the wound on Taejin's neck ( that Sujin made while she was struggling) and Jaewoo realises that and Taejin starts beating him up but as he can't take care of a corpse rn he tell Jaewoo to keep his mouth shut and doesn't kill him .
Vin reaches home and everything goes like 498.
AND I WILL KEEP THEM AS SIBLINGS HERE BECAUSE ONLY THEN SUJIN'S CHARACTER GETS ANY DEPTH AND NOT USED JUST AS A PLOT DEVICE ONLY
it's still still sad and everything but I think this would've made Taejin's character a better villain?(By that I mean smart Villian who uses his brain and not DISGUSTING DISTURBING Villain)
And even the misunderstanding between Seongji and Vin would have made more sense. Cause after all Seongji did for Vin , I don't think Vin would kill him just because Seongji said that in 497 and 498 . But if he attacked him, he could do that.

so i'm just thinking abt the reputation pete must have post-canon among main family bodyguards.
like as we know from pete himself, word travels fast amongst main family bodyguards and there must be a few who survived the ep 14, confrontation. obviously people would've known pete at least in passing, he's tankhun's head bodyguard that must mean something. and suddenly he's missing for a few days, rumour has it he went to the minor family's house (with the fit tankhun threw (rightfully so) surely people would've heard abt it right? right) and everyone knows what happens to bodyguards who are sent to the minor family's house. except pete returns and word spreads fast about that too. pete returned, covered in blood and injured but alive. then the family showdown happens, a lot of people die but surely a few main family bodyguards would survive. and they would hear abt it. pete left. he resigned. and they let him. which i'm sure not many bodyguards can say for themselves. rumour has it he went after vegas. and then shot a bodyguard of the main family dead for him. and that he's with vegas now.
vegas who has A Reputation, everyone knows that. so pete not only made it out of the minor family's house alive, he also managed to resign and then went to be with vegas.
and maybe they'd even see him sometime, pete coming to visit porsche or tankhun and he looks fine like he's doing well.
and like. they must be terrified of him. and like even when they get new bodyguards word would spread just as quickly. u don't fuck with pete bc pete has seen the worst of the worst of this world and not only come out alive the other end, he also willingly walked back right into it.

there's a point to me saying that i am not a good person. that i am damaged and unlikeable and insane and toxic. that i did absolutely terrible shit to a lot of people.
and every time people deny it, i wonder why, because it's true.
but also every time people deny it, it hurts like hell.
i want someone to finally see me. i want someone to stop trying to make me feel better about it by denying it. because that's the absolute truth. and you denying it makes me feel like shit.
i want someone to finally see me for me and love me even if i am broken or evil or whatever.
because i am so done with people in denial. because the person who keeps telling me all these things, that i am smart, that i am sane, that i am kind, that i am beautiful, that i am strong, that i am good, no, more than good, actually "perfect"... that person fucking makes me vomit in my mouth. how can he claim to know me and love me "despite everything" if he won't even accept who i actually am? if he doesn't know a thing about me?
