thinking about Nandor clumsily going to Panora to find a new familiar. Thinking about him getting his clothes stuck on the entrance. Thinking about him going around like the silly man he is asking every costumer there if they would like to serve him for all theur lives in exchange of inmortality and cool powers. Thinking about everyone there getting creeped out and leaving when he approaches (everyone but a certain employee, who keeps giggling at this man's silliness). About him getting kicked out from there ( humans are so dramatic and ridiculous ugh) and sitting on the pavement deafeated. About a very nervous shy young human with the Panora employee uniform approaching him after a bit, sitting down next to him and asking if he was being serious about that whole cool powers thing and if he was a vampire and a million other things. About him being shocked at how quickly he asked too many straightforward questions and just answering a kinda confused "yes...". About him taking this young human back to his house, def having to take a step back when the guy started fangirling over getting to clean up the corpses (his previous familiars absolutly HATED that part of the job) or overstepping WAY too many boundaries by trying to look VERY closely his fangs (he didnt like people staring at them, he's insecure about them :( ).
Thinking about Guillermo just taking orders at Panora very bored, clearly excluded from the little friendgroup the rest of his coworkers formed. Thinking about him being all angsty in there, very much in his own world thinking of how lonely he was. Thinking about him noticing a costumer having A Scene at the door to enter. About him spacing back in just to see some Weird Hot Guy (that makes his heart beat faster and causes him a weird sense in his gut when he looks at him for some reason? And he kinda likes it? Certainly he isnt gay is he? what?)walk in with the most absurd clothes, embarrassing himself all over. About how this just Makes His Day. About him just enjoying the scene, laughing his ass off to this endearing weirdo but trying to hide it because his coworkers are looking at him with Disgust. About how he starts to listen to what this absurd man is saying to all this people and getting curious about whether this was the moment he had been waiting for. About him finaly building up the courage to go and ask him after he got banded from the Panora. About him getting so excited and fangirling when the man confirmed he was a vampire. About that being one of the happiest nights of his life, as he got to go to this man's (whose name is apparently Nandor) kinda mansion, meet his vampire roommates (who are more peculiar than him, somehow) and get to know his new obligations as a familiar.
Thinking about nandermo meeting at Panora in general

Eye bags tugged at your skin like weights, urging you to close your eyes for even a moment. Your room was still, the darkness of the night overtaking the space. If your computer monitor didn’t display the time, 11:29 PM, you would have no idea how long you’d been sitting there. The curtains that adorned your window were drawn, the only light source being the small desk lamp Jay had given you for your birthday and your computer’s screen.
Your eyes burned as you typed, a lifeless gaze following the words on the document. Your hands felt ice cold, hours of typing causing your circulation to falter. The stiffness of your fingers made it hard to type, but you pushed on. After all, you couldn’t afford to stop. There was no time.
You were working on an essay that was due the next day. You had foolishly put it off for too long, instead working long hours to make up for the shifts you were missing to attend classes. You’d convinced yourself that you could finish it, that there was enough time, but suddenly there wasn’t.
The document page wasn’t even half full, despite you having been working at it for a few hours now. All you had typed was an admittedly messy intro paragraph and half of the first body paragraph. The cursor blinked, mocking you for your lack of progress. The blank space on the page upset you, angry tears filling your eyes as you clenched your jaw.
Before you could begin typing again, your phone buzzed. A part of you hoped that it was Jay. You weren’t sure if you could handle it being anyone else at this hour. But when you picked it up, to your dismay, it wasn’t Jay. Instead, it was your boss.
“I need you to work tomorrow. Lia called in sick.”
You sighed, closing your eyes in frustration and exhaustion as you simply typed an okay. You had class tomorrow morning, something that your boss was aware of. You made a note to ask a classmate for the notes.
Looking back at the half-empty document, you felt your chest tighten. Your throat felt uncomfortably dry as you swallowed harshly. Your fingers shook uncontrollably as you rested them on the keyboard in a futile attempt to start again. You had typed two words when someone knocked on your door, making you jump in surprise.
Frowning, you glanced at the time again. 11:42 PM. Before you could even wonder who it was, you heard the front door open. Your shoulders relaxed ever so slightly as you presumed it was Jay. After all, he was the only other one who had a key to your apartment.
You listened as he made his way through your house and toward your bedroom door, the sound of him kicking off his shoes and shucking off his jacket unmistakable. The tight feeling in your chest grew, rearing its ugly head at you as it screamed in your ears with a silent cry. The second your bedroom doorknob started turning, you felt like you had been punched in the throat.
Jay stepped into the room with a sleepy smile, his unstyled silver hair falling into his eyes. By his side, he had a convenience store bag filled with what you assumed were snacks. “Hey,” he whispered, not wanting to be too loud so late at night. “You told me you were working on an essay, so I came with snacks!” He grinned at you, holding up the bag proudly.
“I brought your favourite; those chips from when we went to the arcade. You know, it was stupidly hard to find them, and I had to go to like two different stores, but—” Jay stopped in his tracks, his face falling when he looked up from the bag and at you. “Are you crying?”
You blinked dumbly, quickly wiping at your cheeks. The sleeve of your sweater grew wet, surprising you. “I guess I am,” you murmured, voice wet and quivering. “I’m sorry. I… I don’t know why I’m crying,” your voice cracked, and you choked out a sob that you didn’t know was holed up in your throat.
Jay was quick to drop the bag of snacks and rush over to where you sat, pulling you to your feet and into his arms. While his warmth and comforting touch were usually enough to comfort you, you couldn’t breathe as you felt sob after sob rack your body. He rubbed up and down the small of your back, stepping backwards until the backs of his legs hit your bed.
Slowly, he moved you into a sitting position, never once letting go of you as he sat next to you on the bed. “What’s wrong, baby?” he asked in a small voice, his heart breaking at the sight of you like this. He didn’t ask again when you didn’t respond, rocking you back and forth against his chest. He pressed a tender kiss against your forehead when another particularly harsh cry escaped your lips.
You fisted the fabric of his shirt, wrinkling it in the process. In your haze, everything felt fuzzy. You couldn’t focus on anything except for the tightness in your chest and the pounding of your heart. You briefly thought back to the essay that sat unfinished at your desk and the text from your employer, the thoughts only making you cry harder.
Loud, heartbreaking weeps left your trembling body, and each second that passed felt worse than the last. Jay’s brows were stuck in a furrowed position, and the corners of his lips tugged into a deep frown. He hated how helpless he felt, having nothing to do except hold you.
He wasn’t sure how long you stayed like that together, with you in his arms, crying your heart out. It might’ve been ten minutes, it might have been an hour or two. It felt like your cries were neverending, but when they did start to slow, his heart was in his stomach. He hated seeing you like this. He knew how often you’d hide your true feelings behind a smile, always assuring him that you were okay, but he knew you better than that.
Once the sobs quieted down and you were left with only shaking breaths and wet eyes, Jay pulled away to see your face. His heart ached for you at the sight of your pain-stricken features and tear-stained cheeks. He pulled his sleeve over his hand to wipe away your tears, although new ones were quick to trail down your irritated and raw skin.
“What’s wrong?” he asked again, just as gently. “Is it the essay?”
You shrugged, not trusting your voice as you avoided his eyes. He smoothed down your hair, cupping your face in his large hands in a silent plea for you to look at him. “Did something happen at work?” The pained look in your eyes let him know that he was getting closer, and his frown deepened. “Did your boss say something again?”
“Kind of,” you finally spoke, your voice just barely above a whisper. “He asked me to work tomorrow.”
Jay’s eyebrows knitted together. “You have class tomorrow.”
“I’ll have to skip,” you relented, gnawing at your bottom lip in anxiety. You started thinking of how much information you’d be missing, and you know that some of your professors like giving out surprise quizzes, and you could not get a zero for not attending. If you got a zero, if you failed, then what was the point of working so hard?
“Baby,” Jay mumbled, “Why don’t you tell your boss you can’t work?”
You shook your head, the thought of speaking up causing your throat to close. “I… I can’t do that, Jong. My boss always tells us that saying no to him is a sign of our disloyalty, and I’ve seen him fire someone who said no too many times. I can’t… I can’t get fired, I can’t lose this job. I need the money, Jay, I can’t…” You cut yourself off, your voice breaking.
Jay took your hands in his, rubbing the back of them gently with his thumbs. “There are other jobs, love. Other jobs with more understanding employers.”
Once again, you shook your head, fresh tears falling from your red eyes. “No, no, you don’t understand. This job pays really well, and the fact that I got hired in the first place was a fluke. Don’t you remember how hard it was for me to find a job before? How many… how many rejected interviews I’d gotten? I can’t quit.”
“But,” Jay interjected. “You’ve always told me how much stress you have working there. Your boss is unfair to you. He doesn’t give you breaks, and he asks you to come in too much. You’re a student too, love. I barely see you because you’re always either in class or at work. That’s not healthy.”
You looked into his eyes for the first time since he arrived in your room, the sight of his own watering eyes breaking your heart. “I can’t not work, Jong. That’s not an option. I need the money to pay for everything. I need money to pay for my tuition and for my books. And this apartment wasn’t given to me for free—I can’t just stop working, even if I wanted to.”
Jay pursed his lips. “Can I be honest with you?”
You nodded, a subtle jerk of your head that he barely caught.
“You have so much more support than you realize,” he rasped, holding onto your hands tighter as if it’d convey his message better. “Right now, if you were to stop working, you’d still be able to pay for the rest of the school year. You worked so tirelessly through the summer, and I know you have a lot saved up. You could take time off. Your parents could help with paying for school or rent—hell, I could help if you let me.
I know you’re scared and anxious, but please believe me. It wouldn’t be the end of the world if you took a break. You need it, baby. Your life isn’t going to fall apart if you don’t have a job for a few months.” He let go of one of your hands to cup your cheek. “I love you so much. Seeing you like this is so painful, and all I want is for you to realize that it’s okay to just… do nothing. It is okay to not work. It’s okay to breathe.”
Your lips trembled, another sob threatening to rip out from your throat at his kind words, words that you didn’t know you needed to hear.
“I know I’m supported,” you whispered, holding the hand that cupped your face. “I know that, which is why I’m so frustrated with myself. I… I feel like if I’m not doing everything by myself and if I’m not working, then all I am is a failure.” You spat out the last few words, new tears filling your waterline.
Jay shook his head, leaning forward to press his forehead against yours. “This world is harsh, and it pushes people to work beyond their limits. I wish things were different, but I can’t change how society views things.” He nudged his nose against yours, looking into your eyes with a look of what you could only describe as love. He offered you a gentle smile. “But what I can do is help you realize that. I just need you to let me in, yeah? You don’t need to be this stressed alone. I don’t want you to be alone.” He brushed away the wetness that remained on your cheeks before pressing a soft kiss against both cheeks, your nose, and finally, your forehead.
“I love you,” he murmured into your skin. “I love you, and you are worth so much more than you realize.”

steddie swapping soulmate au part 13
part 1 |[...]| part 12 | part 13 | part 14 | Ao3
---
What follows is the longest talk Steve ever had.
He sits numbly beside Robin, the silence surprisingly easy between them.
Or perhpas it's not that suprising, given they both stripped their souls bare.
Robin doesn't like Steve.
Not because he's unlikeable but because Steve is a boy and he isn't a girl. And Robin, who is a girl, also likes girls.
It doesn't shock Steve has much as it could have, not when he knows his other soulmate is a boy. Not when he knows that he would do anything to not see the disdain in Eddie's eyes. Not when he knows he would have fallen in love, if Eddie had not clearly showed him he didn't want him.
But Robin says that, if Steve won't be a dick about it, they can still try to be friends. They're going to share a body, after all. Several time in their lives.
Steve, in returns, explain what happen with Eddie.
Robin seems surprised that he has two soulmates. Even more surprised to learn that Eddie, defensor of minorities, rejected Steve so straighforwardly because he is a man.
When Robin attempts to hug him, it feels very strange. Not many people have tried of offer him physical comfort in the past. And none of them were taller than him.
He doesn't find it uncomfortable.
It takes a while longer for them to settle into some sort of agreement. Robin was not expecting a relationship, of any sort, and Steve could clearly see how afraid of him she had been.
Yet they are soulmates, even if they are meant to stay platonic, which Steve is ready to accept if it means he has someone by his side. There is a reason why they are supposed to be linked.
Even if the universe made mistakes before.
Still, Robin agrees to give him a chance at friendship, as long as he doesn't drag her as his girlfriend, or tries to make her join the popular crowds.
"I like being a nerd, you're not all nice about it but I'd rather have good grades, band practices and people with whom can hold a meaningful conversations rather than being some eye candy, and speak of nothing but silly rumours."
Stings a little bit, but he can understand.
He, too, would like to have some meaningful conversations.
They don't really part for the rest of the day, but they stay away from the crowds. They don't really talk either.
Robin is fast to grab her own bag and start working on the class she is currently missing.
Steve is the one to go out and join society for a little while, just to grab them some food. He is amazed by how easily he can cross the corridors with Robin's appearance. He probably shouldn't, realising that she probably is often made fun of, but he can't help but wish for the same kind of invisibleness. It feels so much more peaceful.
They both go back home, Steve to Robin's, Robin to Steve's. He tries to apoligise for the empty walls and lonesomness of his own, knowing how uncomfortable it make him, who is now used to it, feel. Robin just waves him off.
She cares so little about it, Steve wonders if he is overreacting.
When he falls asleep in Robin's colourful sheets, he tries to enjoy the few seconds of warmth, hearing the sounds of the TV playing in the living room, the faint light under the door, nothing like the creepy cricking of his empty house and the cold morning he'll face, alone again tomorrow.
Steve tries not to feel down when he does wake up alone.
He is used to it.
He ignores thoughts of Eddie, a well-oiled routine, but his mind does stop on Robin.
He wonders if the universe truly hates him, wonders what he did to deserve two soulmates who wanted nothing to do with him.
Not Robin, she said she'd give me a chance, he reminds himself. He'd take whatever she was willing to give, even a half hearted friendship.
In the corridors of the school, alone for once, his head full, he doesn't realise when he bumps into no other than Eddie Munson.
The man is still taller than him, his hair flowing around his face with something akin to grace.
"Congratulation, man," the other man says, bumping a heavy ringed hand against his shoulder.
Steve almost wonders what it means before Eddie continues. "Your soulmate. Did a right number on me yesterday," he laughs, something deep and it would perhaps be enjoyable if it did not stab Steve's heart in a thousand different ways, if it wasn't at his expense. Does the man really hate him so much that he can't accept that Steve has someone else? At least he should feel free of the burden Steve was.
He just pushes past Eddie, not caring if he bumped into his shoulder and made the other man's bag fall.
He tries as hard as possible to keep the tears in.
He only manages to until he reaches the bathroom.

What was the name of the main character in the last book you read? Kim Jiyoung.
Do you own a pair of Disney pajamas? Nope.
What are three of your favorite toppings for salads? Croutons...lots and lots of croutons. I also like chicken breast and raw tuna.
What was the last place you went out to eat? Today's itinerary was the exact same as last week's. We went to Mama Lou's again for lunch then made a quick stop at Blk 513 for froyo – or in my case, toppings with a deliberate request to lessen the yogurt because I actually don't like the yo part of froyo.
Do you have a lot of clutter in your home? A bit, but we're good at hiding them. We have drawers in each bedroom to keep said clutter and also have storage space under the stairs for the same purpose. We just like to keep certain things in case we might need them in the future.
What was the last pill you took? 💊 I took a Strepsils if that counts; but if it doesn't, I had a Biogesic a few months ago for a headache.
Are you happy with your current doctor? 👩‍⚕️ I don't have a regular doctor.
Is there a bottle of Benadryl in your medicine cabinet? As far as I know, no there isn't.
Do you take vitamins? I don't.
Does your hair need to be washed right now? It's a little dry as it usually gets after 12 hours, but I'll be washing it again tomorrow morning before work.
What was the last thing you ate? Fried chicken from McDonald's, with rice.
Do you prefer pizza or hot dogs? 🌭🍕 Pizza.
What is your favorite pizza topping? 🍕 Barbecue sauce and chicken. Or good ol mozzarella if we're going classic.
Is your dad a jerk? No. The older I get, the softer spot I have for him – and the more I understand him. It's been impossible for him to view him as a jerk.
What color are your fingernails painted? They're never painted.
Is anyone in your family currently in the military? Nope.
What was the last thing you bought at the dollar store? We don't have dollar stores, but the last I think I picked up at the closest equivalent store we have were some toys for the dogs.
Are prices of things going up where you live? Yes, inflation is very much felt. It wouldn't be as big of a problem if salaries/wages were adjusted accordingly, but that's not happening, and we're all just trying to play catch-up with the rising costs.
What color was the last carpet you sat on? Brown.
What is your favorite dog breed? Beagles, Samoyeds, and golden retrievers.
When was the last time you wore make-up? 💄 This morning. It was my usual minimal setup of concealer and BB cream (if the latter even counts?) because I don't even own anything else beyond those two + foundation.
What was the last thing you ordered at the last restaurant you went to? Risotto, pizza with prosciutto and mushrooms, truffle mac and cheese, mozzarella sticks. I also ordered an iced cappuccino which was never able to make it to our table, lol.
What was the last thing you wore that was pink? Probably a t-shirt. I don't own a lot of pink clothes.
Name three people you know, if any, that currently live in another country. Trina, Ysa, Pia.
Name three people you know who are from another country (and what countries?) My co-worker's husband is a foreigner but I still haven't been able to make out if he's from the States or somewhere in Europe lol; an aunt's husband is from Vietnam, and another aunt's husband is from New Zealand. I don't know a lot of non-Filipinos as I don't run into a lot of them.
What are your grandmas’ names? Eh, no thanks.
Have you ever heard of “fairy hair”? (It’s tinsel in the hair that gets put in permanently…it’s like tinsel highlights.) Just because of this survey that I think I've taken 3 times lol.
Have you found any gray hairs on your head? Some strands here and there, yes.
If applicable, how old were you when you found your first gray hair? I think I was around 11. They've showed up a handful times since throughout high school and college, but it's limited to individual strands.
Do you think you will dye your hair when it’s gone gray? I'm already dyeing my hair as it is, so this is definitely a possibility once the grey starts breaking out for good.
Do you have a sister-in-law? I guess I can say that now, yeah! I count Katrina as an SIL.
Do you have a brother-in-law? I don't.
When was the last time you went swimming? 👙☀️ Must be over a year ago. I haven't been to the beach much, save for a quick day trip last month – that was for work reasons though, and it wouldn't have been an appropriate time to swim in the beach.
Do you own a bikini? Sure.
What color is your bike, if you own one? I don't own one, because I can't ride a bicycle.
If you were a rockstar, what color guitar would you have? 🎸 Purple.
What are three places you’ve been on vacation that you’ve enjoyed? Bangkok, Sagada, San Felipe in Zambales.
Does your home have carpeted floors? No. We have a carpet in the living room but that's it.
What color was the last scarf you wore? I don't wear scarves. Closest thing is a shawl; last one I wore was red.
What was the last spicy thing you ate? Instant laksa.
Do you like sushi? 🍣 Very much; I'd never ever turn it down.
When was the last time you had sushi? 🍱 Last weekend.
Can you see a box from where you are sitting right now? Nopes.
Would you rather sing or dance? 🎤💃 Sing, but that's not to say I'm any good at either.
What color was the last sports bra you wore, if applicable? Black.
What is your nicest neighbor’s name? I can't remember her name anymore, but it was the househelp of a neighbor who helped me get a trike a year ago. We hadn't met each other until that point, but she was so so nice for taking the time to help me out and for even leading me to a street corner where I'd be more likely to hail one.
Would you rather have a personal chef or personal house cleaner? Chef.
Do you have any zits on your face right now? On my nose and left cheek :(
Do you wear glasses or contacts? I have glasses.
How many Britney Spears albums have you owned? I love Britney, but not enough to own her albums. I collected Beyoncé's instead and owned every CD/DVD up until Lemonade – the streaming era happened and as far as I know they also stopped releasing physical CDs here starting from Lemonade. :(
What was the first concert you went to? Paramore in 2013.
Do you like cheese? 🧀 Yeah, but not obsessed.
What are three of your favorite things to sprinkle cheese on top of? Pasta...and that's it really.
What are three of your favorite bakery items? Doughnuts, macarons, and chocolate chip cookies.
When was the last time you went to a bakery? 🧁 I don't get to go to them much! Last closest place was a Starbucks lmao, I must've visited one around two weeks ago.

Do you know what “chai” means? Yup.
What are three other names you like that start with the same letter as your name? Rachel, Ruthie, Rose/Rosie/Rosalie.

Would you rather have a tattoo of a skull or a flower? Flower.
Have you ever had to take steroids? 💊 Nope.
What are three of the worst withdrawal effects or side effects you have experienced from a medication? 💊 Not a medication, but a vaccine – high fever and feeling like fucking glass. I don't think I moved for like 12 hours lmao.
What are three things you like about church? Nothing.
What are three things you dislike about church? Everything.
Does your town have a horse and carriage company? Nope.
Who are three of the biggest jerks you know? I don't know a lot of big jerks.
Have you ever met a Jason that you didn’t like? I don't think so.
Have you ever had a friend named Sarah? I have a workmate with the name but wouldn't consider her a friend.
Did you go to school with a Suzy? No.
What was the name of the person who bullied you the most in high school? I wasn't bullied in high school but my biggest ones were everyone who gave me shit for my name and short hair and called me a boy as a kid. As a four year old it just felt like the whole world teaming up to gang up on me, and I thought everything was meant to be that way. I didn't know anything back then, so I naturally thought well maybe I deserved to be bullied like that? Maybe that's just how the world works? Lol it had long-term effects on my confidence and in the way I'd deal with people that I, really, was only able to rectify once I got out of school.
Do you know someone named Matthew? I know a few people with that name but none of them go by Matthew.
…Mark? I don't think so.
….Luke? Yes.
….John? Loads. John is an extremely common first name but it's the kind of name that's rarely used, same as Maria. Most Johns I know go by their second name.
Have you ever been friends with an Ashley? Nope.
….an Emily? No.
….a Jessica? I haven't.
….a David? I know a David but do not consider them a friend.
Have you ever dated a Matthew? Nope.
Who was the last person you remember hanging up on you? It's been a while, so can't really remember. Maybe my mom.
How’s your heart? Are you wounded? 💔 She's a little tired and confused but she tries to fight.
What was the last type of pie you ate? I never have pie.
Are you happy today? Little bit, yeah.
What time did you wake up this morning? 12 AM because I needed to report to a work event by 2 AM.
And last but not least, did you enjoy this survey? Sure!

Chapter 12: Exam Day of Into Another World a MHAxReader fanfic
A/n:
I go back to school tomorrow :( (Send help).
Anyways, here's the next chapter and I hope you enjoy!
Warning: some language here and there (Don't really proofread any of the chapters that I write so if anything is off or something, I'm sorry. I'm just too lazy to check sometimes but I'll work on it, lol.)
Key:
d/n - dogs name
h/s - hair style
| | | | | | | | |
"I'll see you later, d/n. Wish me luck!"
You locked the door to your home and walked down the pathway and onto the sidewalk. As you walked on, you enjoyed the calmness and quietness of the streets before they got busy and noisy. The display of warm colors had taken over the sky, creating a contrast with the blue and white clouds. The sun seemed to resemble a golden coin, or a dazzling gem in the sky.
And where were you heading so early in the morning? Well, you were going to take the entrance exam at no other than the most prestigious high school for future heroes.
UA High.
It was currently early in the morning, about 7:30, but the entrance exam started at 8:30 and you wanted to make sure you got there early. The day before, you had asked Midoriya if he wanted to walk with you so that you both could go together, but he had other plans. Well, the plans being that he had to go to the beach and inherit All Might's quirk, but you didn't need to know that. You wore your black sweatpants with a f/c shirt and put your hair in a h/s, along with your favorite shoes that always seemed to travel with you wherever you went. Although it was still peaceful outside, someone decided to ruin it.
"Oi, Insect! Wait a goddamn minute!"
Turning around, you spotted Bakugo a few meters behind you, walking towards you with an angry expression. Sighing, you turned around to fully face him as you also stopped walking in the process, hands shoved into the pockets of your pants.
Ever since he tried to blow up Midoriya and you took the hit for him and after class the same day, he kept his distance from you. Even when you sat at your desk and Bakugo beside you, he kept his mouth shut most of the time, only really calling you 'pest' or 'insect'.
"Huh, wonder what he wants...."
He finally came up to you and you both began to silently walk together towards UA. Neither one of you said anything to the other person.
A few minutes passed and still, the two of you were too stubborn to talk to each other first, so as per usual, you broke the ice first as you kept your head forward but talked.
"So, how's it been?"
It was quiet again until Bakugo spoke up.
"What's it to you? And besides, why are you even talking to me, huh?"
"Well, you were the one to say 'Wait up, you pest!', weren't you?"
Now it was your turn to roll your eyes at him.
"Come on, be for real right now, Bakugo."
"I am being for real, you damn pest!"
"Uh huh, sure you are."
It turned into a (yet again) silent walk once more for about ten minutes until it was broken, but by the young male beside you.
"I’m talking about your left side."
Looking forward, you hum in thought. Was he being an ass to you, or was he actually genuinely worried?
“It’ll be fine. I’ll just have to be on some medication for a month or two, maybe only a week if my body works it out faster or whatever.”
Although you didn’t see it, Bakugo exhaled a breath he was seemingly holding in, now releasing how tense he was as he was awaiting your answer. He didn’t want to accept the truth, but he was pretty worried for your condition after the incident had happened.
You glanced at him from the corner of your eye, noticing how his brows were furrowed and his lips were pressed into a thin line. You felt a pang in your chest, knowing that he blamed himself for what happened to you. You wanted to say something to reassure him, but you didn't know how to break the ice.
You decided to change the topic and lighten the mood.
"So, are you ready for the entrance exam?" you asked casually, hoping to spark some conversation.
He snorted and looked at you with a smug grin.
"Of course I am. I'm going to ace it and become the number one hero. You should be glad that you're walking with me. Maybe some of my greatness will rub off on you."
You rolled your eyes again, but this time you smiled.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say, Bakugo. Just don't get too cocky and blow yourself up, okay?"
He scoffed and glared at you.
"As if that would ever happen. I'm not like that useless Deku who doesn't have a quirk. I'm a natural genius, him."
You shook your head and chuckled dryly.
"Sure, sure. Keep telling yourself that, Bakugo. Maybe one day you'll actually believe it."
He growled and clenched his fists.
"Shut up, you pest! You're so annoying!"
You laughed and nudged him playfully.
"Aw, come on, Bakugo. Don't be like that. You know I'm just teasing you. You're my friend, after all."
He blinked and looked at you with a surprised expression.
"Friend? Since when are we friends?"
You smiled and shrugged.
"Since now, I guess. Unless you have a problem with that."
He looked away and muttered something under his breath.
"No, I don't have a problem with that. It's fine."
You grinned and wrapped your arm around his shoulder.
"Great! Then it's settled. We're friends. And friends stick together, right?"
He sighed and rolled his eyes, but he didn't push you away.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Just don't get in my way, okay?"
You winked and gave him a thumbs up.
"Got it. I won't get in your way. I'll just be right behind you, cheering you on."
He smirked and nudged you back.
"That's more like it. Now let's go and show them what I’m made of."
You rolled your eyes and followed him as he quickened his pace and walked slightly ahead of you so that you couldn’t see the red that crept onto his face.
| | | | | | | |
The two of you conversed with each other as you entered the gates of UA, slightly getting to know each other better as they both thought the same thing in their heads.
"I guess being friends with her/him isn't so bad after all...."
As the two of you walked on, students around started to whisper among themselves and their friends/classmates.
"Isn't he from the sludge villain incident?"
"Who's that walking next to him, his girlfriend?"
"Nah, I heard from a friend of mine that goes to their middle school, they're apparent rivals of some sorts...."
The whispers went on and on as the two teens walked on, that is until Y/n got a rough nudge from Bakugo as he looked over to someone else in the crowd.
Midoriya.
Bakugo guided the two of you towards his direction as he "accidentally" bumped into the poor boy as he stopped his muttering and looked at Bakugo.
"K-Kacchan! I-"
Before he could finish his sentence, he looked at you with confusion and slight betrayal in his eyes.
"Y-Y/n?"
Smiling tensely, you looked between the boy standing in front of you and beside you.
"How's it going Izuku? It's good to see you-"
"Why are you with him?"
Confusion came across your face as you looked at the green haired boy, was he mad?
In his mind, he was slightly hurt that you had walked with Bakugo instead of him, even though he couldn’t walk with you to begin with, but he couldn’t help feeling those emotions.
“Why do feelings have to be so complicated?”
"I was just walking with him over here for the exams, you know, since you were busy with something."
"R-right, sorry."
"No, it's alright Izuku, don't worry about it!"
Bakugo tsked as he looked at the two of you, slight disgust written on his face.
"Eh, you guys are weak, I'm going to go and ace this test. Unlike you two."
Bakugo walked off, leaving the two of you alone.
Looking at Midoriya, you smile as he smiles back and you both continue on your walk.
You felt a wave of relief wash over you as Bakugo left. You didn't like how he treated Midoriya. You hoped that he wouldn't bother you again during the exam.
You turned your attention to Midoriya, who was still looking at you with a mix of curiosity and admiration. You wondered what he was thinking, and if he still felt the same way about you as he did before.
You decided to break the silence and start a conversation.
"So, Izuku, are you excited for the exam?"
He nodded and smiled.
"Yeah, I am. I've been studying and training hard for this. I want to prove myself and become a hero. Just like All Might."
You smiled back and nodded.
"I know, Izuku. You’ll do amazing, I'm sure. Even without a quirk"
He blushed and looked away while laughing awkwardly.
“Y-yea, right. Without a quirk….”
| | | | | | | | |
“WELLLLLLCOME!!!!!! EVERYONE SAY ‘HEY!’”
Everyone in the huge room was silent.
“Damn, I feel bad for the man.”
Is all you thought as Present Mic silently said a low ‘okay’.
“Anyways! I’m here to present to you the guidelines of your Entrance Exam!”
Besides you on your left sat Midoriya as he fanboyed over the pro hero (Present Mic) talking about the Entrance Exam as Bakugo sat to your right and rolled his eyes.
“Will you tell Deku to shut the fuck up? If you don’t, I’ll do it myself!”
Bakugo silently whispered (yelled) in your ear as you turned to face Midoriya.
“Izuku! Please be quiet or you’ll ask questions on what he had been saying later!”
“R-Right, sorry Y/n!”
Midoirya was now quiet as you all began to pay attention to the loud hero once more.
“After the presentation concludes, you’ll all head straight towards the location you have on the card that was given to you all earlier!”
Looking down at your card, you noticed that it had the letter ‘G’ while Midoriya had his location the same as it was in the Anime, along with Bakugo.
“They're separating us so that none of us from the same middle school can work together, uh. I was hoping to beat Deku’s ass.”
“H-HUH?!”
“Each site contains three types of faux villains, you will have to use your quirks to defeat them and earn the points that they may have! Obsoully based on the type of villain you defeat!”
“Excuse me! May I ask a question!”
Turning towards the direction of the voice, you see a dark blue haired boy with glasses standing up from his seat while holding the piece of paper on the information you would have to know about the practical exam.
Tenya Iida.
“Come to think of it, Midoriya didn’t run into Uraraka like he originally did….”
You got lost in your thoughts as Iida continued on with his little rant on the fourth faux villain, until he pointed towards the green haired boy behind you.
“And you! The one with curly hair next to the h/c girl! You’ve been muttering this whole time, it’s distracting! If you can’t take this exam seriously then leave!”
Midoirya muttered a small ‘sorry’ and shrank down into his seat as you patted his shoulder, telling him it was okay as Present Mic answered Iida’s question.
“Um, Nice catch, examine 7111! Although, unlike the rest of the faux villains that are worth one, two, or three points, that fourth one is worth zero points!”
The blue haired boy pushed his glasses backup and sat back down.
“Thank you for clearing up that information! I apologize for not reading the handout thoroughly enough!”
Present Mic was seen having a few sweat drops from his forehead until he cleared his throat and began to talk once more.
“It’s alright! That villain is kinda like a security guard of sorts! But instead of giving you  points to defeat it, it’s just a barrier trying to waste your time, so I would just ignore it and continue on my way if I were you!”
He clapped his hands together as he was concluding the presentation.
“Now, go break a leg out there everyone!”
“PLUS ULTA!”
| | | | | | | |
Standing outside of a fake city labeled G, you felt a surge of adrenaline and anxiety.
You could see the tall buildings, the narrow streets, and the hidden traps that awaited you.
“Breathe in, breathe out…” you whispered to yourself, trying to calm your racing heart.
You scanned the crowd of other participants, hoping to spot a friendly face, but you recognized no one.
You were alone in this challenge.
Sighing, you headed closer to the massive gates of the city and continued to control your breathing.
“Alright, Y/n, you got this. The minute he says to start, run as fast as you can.” You repeat your mantra in your mind, psyching yourself up for the task ahead.
“Breathe in, breathe out, in, out, in, out…” You heard a loud voice booming from the speakers.
“BEGIN!!!”
You didn’t hesitate.
You sprinted towards the now open gates as the rest of the crowd stood there, stunned and confused. You ignored what Present Mic was saying, something about following your example or whatever.
Upon entering the city, you closed your eyes as you focused on using your quirk to turn small and the all too familiar hornet wings sprouted from your back. You soared into the air, searching for the robots.
You were determined to prove yourself in this exam.
| | | |
Same time, different location….
| | | | | |
In a spacious room, several UA teachers were watching the students on multiple screens, each showing a different part of the entrance exam.
They were commenting on the performance of the applicants, especially the ones who stood out from the crowd.
“Well, that was unexpected.” A man with long, black hair  said as he saw the all too familiar girl with wings fly over the city, dodging the robots that tried to shoot her down as she was the one to take them down.
“Ooh, how daring. She must have a lot of confidence in her abilities. I wonder what else she can do with those wings.” A woman with a revealing costume said, admiring the girl’s boldness.
“Indeed, she seemed to have shown great initiative and courage. She also wasted no time in entering the city and activating her Quirk, what’s her name anyways?”
A man in a cowboy getup asked as he leaned over to a white mouse in a suit, who was operating a computer.
“L/n Y/n is the name and her quirk seems to be called Hornet! I suspect it’s a mutation type of quirk.” The mouse said, pulling up a separate screen with Y/n’s information.
“She can transform into a human-sized hornet or shrink to the size of a regular insect.”
“She’s smart, too. She knows that flying gives her an advantage over the ground-based robots. She can scout the area and avoid detection, especially because of how small she was able to turn herself.”
A man who was literally concret said a serious expression on his face as he analyzed the girl’s strategy.
“Hmm, yes, very impressive. But she should also be careful. It says that she has had a recent injury a couple months back, could ruin any plan she has in mind if she injures it again.”
A man with wild, blond hair and a gentle smile said, expressing his concern.
“Hey, hey, hey! Don’t be so negative! Let’s cheer for our students! Go, Y/n, go! You’re the best! You’re the coolest! You’re the-”
A man with tall, blond hair and sunglasses shouted, waving his arms.
“Enough, Present Mic. You’re giving me a headache. And you’re supposed to be impartial. You’re the announcer, not a fanboy.”
The man with messy, black hair and a tired look said, rubbing his temples.
“Aw, come on, Eraser Head. Don’t be such a killjoy. Let me have some fun! Besides, didn’t you tell me you knew her or something? You should be cheering for her as well! I bet that Y/n girl is gonna be in the top 5!” Present Mic said, challenging his colleague.
“Oh? I bet she’ll get a place between 10 and 20.” The R-rated hero said, accepting the bet.
“Look, there’s one of the robots. It’s about to fire at her.”
The skinny looking man said, otherwise known as All Might (in his weak form) said, pointing at the screen.
“Let’s see if she has a plan in mind or is just as reckless as one of us in this room.”

A/n:
Welp, Y/n is friends with Bakugo......Right?
And of course, Yn is totally not interfering with the cannon events and changing them without knowing herself......Right?
Anyways, you got the chapter and I hope you guys enjoyed it!
Have a good rest of your day! :)

Ok so for a bit of an update: I know that I was planning on having daily posts on here, but I wasn't feeling well, then procrastination got the better of me over the weekend while I was relaxing, and now my voice is kinda gone which is making me feel a bit crummy, BUT I'm back again today to try and get things back on track before the semester ends.
Today's Accomplishments:
~Went to my German class and learned some new grammar stuff!
~Managed to throw together the final GSA meeting for this semester just in time.
Tomorrow's Goals:
~All that I currently have planned for tomorrow is my Computer class in the morning, so I aim to come home from school, take a nap (to make sure I'm well rested for the work ahead), then go to the library and crank out as much work as I can.

WIP Weekend Game
Thanks @14carrotghoul @inexplicablymine @happiness-of-the-pursuit @gwiazdziarka @daisymae-12 @myheartalivewrites and @kiwiana-writes for tagging me!!
1. WIP List:
I'm not even going to include OQ fics here, because that list would be a mile long... So if we're counting ideas that are only in my head, it's just:
-The Beauty Within (high school AU)
- Divergent AU
-post-Kensington AU
2. Which of your WIPs is currently the longest?
Definitely The Beauty Within (high school AU), the other two are only ideas so far... Although the Kensington AU technically has words, but they're just the prompt I was given, and the Divergent AU has the drabble I wrote one week.
3. Which WIP do you expect will end up the longest?
I'm sure Divergent will be long too, but since I just finished the outline for it this morning, I'm going to go with The Beauty Within (high school AU), I'm about to post chapter 4 and there's going to be 21 chapters including the epilogue
4. Which WIP is your favorite to write/the most enjoyable to write? Why?
I guess I'll have to go with the high school AU, but I also can't wait to get into the Divergent AU, I love the first two books!!
5. Which WIP do you find the most intimidating to write? Why?
Post-Kensington AU or Divergent, only because both of them will involve a form of angst I'm not great at writing.
6. Which WIP do you experience the most self-doubt about. Why?
ALL OF THEM. See the last question for the two I haven't started yet, but for The Beauty Within, it's that it's my first multichapter in this fandom, and I know I didn't make Alex likeable... And he's the only narrator so far. But both the POV and Alex's likeability will change as the fic progresses, I promise!
7. Which of your WIPs will you seek out a beta/sensitivity reader for? Why?
Divergent AU for sure, mostly because of the "I'm bad at science" aspect of the first stage of Dauntless training
8. Have any of your WIPs been struck by the curse of writer's block?
I've definitely had it before, but not for RWRB yet!
9. Which WIP has your favourite OC? Tell us about them?
Ooh, this is giving me ideas to add to my outline... Suffice it to say that the fact that they mention a girl from the Spiderman movies in the books gives me an excuse to have a character named Zendaya, and now, I have plans for her!
10. Which WIP is the sexiest?
Lol if you knew my writing, you wouldn't be asking this question 😂
11. Which WIP is the angstiest?
Probably going to be... Actually, might be a tie between the Divergent AU and Kensington AU, although the high school AU has its fair share too!
12. Which WIP has the best characterisation (in your humble opinion)?
I'm hoping it'll be my high school AU (guys, I have actual character development planned. That's not quite a first for me, but close!), but it'll probably be the Divergent AU since I have something to bounce off of.
13. Which WIP has the best scene setting (in your humble opinion)?
Ooh... Probably going to be Divergent?
14. Which WIP have you worked the hardest on?
The high school AU for sure!
15. Which WIP do you have the highest expectations for? Why?
Probably the Divergent AU, since I love the first couple books so much!
16. Do you dream about any of your WIPs?
I've almost never even had a fandom dream, so no- but I wish! Then I could get ideas from them!
17. Do any of your WIPs have particular complexities that your other fics don't?
Maybe the high school AU... But I'm not going to say why yet! You'll all find out not in the chapter I'm posting tomorrow, but the chapter after that...
18. Which fic is the funniest or has the most humor?
My sense of humor is so picky that this is a great question... I'm going to have some great Claremont-Díaz sibling interactions in the high school AU, though!
19. Do any of your WIPs contain outside POVs or a deep dive on a character other than the main ship? How are you finding that process?
My high school AU will also feature Junora in a prominent role, so I'm excited about writing those two! Especially Nora, for her, it'll be a first, and I haven't written much for June.
20. Tell us one thing we don't know about one or more of your WIPs
Henry's home life is VERY different from Alex's in my high school AU... And that's all I'll say!
Tagging @celeritas2997 @heybuddy-drabbles @believingispowerfulmagic and @read-and-write- , but no pressure!

So it's been a snow day(s) for the past 48 hours in my neck of the woods. Not for me. But for most people.
We got about 2 feet of snow Tuesday overnight/Wednesday morning and the world shut down.
I currently live at home. Financially - it's a win. Rent is cheaper than what I could get elsewhere which makes it easier to pay off my student loans. In every other aspect it's a fucking nightmare.
I live with my mom (48) and my younger brother (24).
Because our family is dysfunctional af I have had MOST of the non-financial household responsibilities since the age of TEN. I mow the lawn 90% of the time. I do 90% of the dishes/taking out the garbage/vacuuming/kitchen cleaning etc.
When I complain about the unfair level of household work I do - I am told to "suck it up" OR "stop being so uptight".
Usually I just grit my teeth and think of the money I'm saving by living at home.
But yesterday it snowed. I still worked. I was able to work from home. But I worked.
My mom works for a school district so she had a snow day/day off. My brother works at a bank. They were closed due to snow - therefore he had the day off.
Me? I worked from 6:30am - 3:30pm.
I woke up at 3am. I usually work out for about 1h45min before work. I was convinced I was going into the office until about 6am. Therefore, I woke up an hour earlier than usual so I could shovel the driveway/dig out my car before work. At this point we had about 5 inches of snow. The shoveling took me about an hour (driveway/path to front door/sidewalk/dig out car).
All day. I worked. They were off. We got about 1.5 feet of snow between 7am and 1pm.
I came out of my room for lunch - the kitchen is a disaster. Crumbs all over the counter/dishes in the sink/food on the floor. I have 30 mins to eat so I quickly clean it and take my pre-prepped lunch into my room to eat.
I come out of my room after work. No one. Not ONE of the TWO able-bodied people WHO HAVE THE DAY OFF shoveled the driveway.
At this point it's going to be dark in about 1 hour. So I go outside after working 45 mins of overtime and shovel. It took me 2.5 hours. 1.5 hours ALONE was just digging out my car so I could drive to work the next morning. Also, it was garbage night. So guess who had to get the garbage together and pull it out to the curb? Me. Always me.
I'm annoyed. But whatever. It's not supposed to snow again. I'll deal with it. Tomorrow is a new day. It's not like I spent about 12 hours of my day working/shoveling. And another 2 working out. I'm not tired. It's fine.
But it's not fine. This morning I drove to work. The roads weren't great and my commute took me twice as long as usual.
My mom and brother? Still had the day off.
I come home after a stressful day and The HOLE I DUG FOR MY CAR. THE HOLE THAT TOOK ME 1.5 HOURS TO DIG is occupied by my brother's car. He didn't work. He had no reason to leave the house. He had no reason to get in his car in the FIRST PLACE.
So I had no choice but to park in the 2 FOOT SNOW BANK his car left behind.
Right there I started crying.
I drive a sedan. I have snow tires, sure. But the snowbank is the same height as my tires. I will have to work tomorrow. I was drifting and struggling for 10 minutes just to park after work. So back out to the road with my shovel I go. This time to dig ANOTHER hole for my car just so I can go to work tomorrow.
It's been such a bad week.
God. I'm like 10 minutes away from calling in sick tomorrow. But alas, my fucking family will probably be home (they're calling for freezing rain tonight) and frankly I'd rather work than be stuck at home with them tomorrow.

September 12, 2023
K, so,,, okay.
First, I would like to say that I appreciate the way in which being a PhD student has lifted some of the stress that generally comes with coursework. Like yes, of course, I'm going to try my best to get an A in the class, but I currently don't feel as stressed as I might have in undergrad about being "behind" the other students in my regen class.
However.
I'm suspecting that every school/uni/department has a certain lingo that they drill into their students and can be recited by many at a moment's notice. I'm feeling a bit out of my depth in my regen class right now not just because the literature is so new to me but because all of the other students in the class, specifically the undergrads, seem to understand exactly what's going on at all times. It is having the effect of making me a little bit insecure in my own knowledge even if I technically have learned and understand subjects X, Y, and Z, but they were called by the terms A, B, and C when I learned them (or the terminology escapes me entirely even if the concept has not!). And then there are other times when I just don't know what the prof is asking at all while several students seem to get it on the spot. There are many concepts that I'm just unfamiliar with entirely. It's only week two, but it's still a little frustrating.
I also don't know where a lot of my time seems to be going. Need to work on time management for sure.
But not tonight. I'm sleepy. Early day tomorrow. Morning lab.
Today I'm thankful that it wasn't gloomy all day and that I made some time to read in the sunshine (I read a second article for regen, but just the abstract, intro, and discussion (who cares about results and methods tbh) and I think I understand pretty well after merely an hour(!), but I may need a second look).
Oh also I've come to realize that I write like a pre-1950s scientist with unnecessarily flowery and somewhat difficult to decipher prose. Meandering phrases with nary a punctuation mark in sight aside from, of course, the friendly comma.
k gnight

1 - When was the last time you spent over $100 in one transaction? What did you buy? When I was doing my Christmas shopping last year.
2 - Do you sleep with a stuffed animal? Would you judge a grown adult for doing so? I used to have several on my bed (I unfortunately had to downsize my bed so I could have this hospital style bed) and I see absolutely no problem with that.
3 - Would you describe yourself as fashion-conscious, or do you just wear whatever feels comfortable? I wear what I like and what is comfortable. I think what I wear is nice and some may happen to be trendy, but that’s not what I seek to do. I don’t care if it’s trendy or not. I have to actually like it myself and feel comfortable wearing it.
4 - The last time you got up from where you’re sitting, where did you go and what did you do? I still require help moving, so I don’t get out of the bed at all by myself. My mom helped me this morning when she was making my bed and readjusting things.
5 - Would you rather read an erotic novel or watch an erotic film? Neither.
6 - Who taught you how to tell the time on a proper analogue clock? I remember learning in school and from my parents.
7 - What’s your favourite way to make your home smell good? Do you spend a lot of money on making this happen? I like room sprays (don’t overkill though) and my mom likes to use those wax melts things.
8 - How long have you had the computer/tablet you’re currently using? Does it need replacing or upgrading? I’ve been using my brother’s laptop since mine went kaput almost a year ago. I think he got his in 2017 or 2018.
9 - When you’re home alone, do you make sure all your doors are kept locked? We always keep the doors locked.
10 - How often do you light candles? Do you just like regular ones or do you prefer scented ones or ones that make pretty patterns when they melt? I never light candles.
11 - Are you any good at taking care of plants? I’ve never attempted to, but I’d probably mess up. I apparently can’t even take good care of myself.
12 - How many surveys have you taken so far today? Will you take anymore surveys today once you’ve finished this one? This is the only one I’ve taken today and most likely this will be it.
13 - What are the main two colours in the room you’re currently in? Did you pick these colours out yourself? My walls and door are all white and my curtains are blue. My walls were white when we moved in, but I did choose my blue curtains.
14 - What was the last hot drink you consumed? What about cold drink? The last hot drink was Starbucks and the last cold drink was a Starbucks Doubleshot energy drink.
15 - Do you have piercings anywhere except your ears? How many and what are they? Nope, just my ears.
16 - Do you prefer taking baths or showers? How come? Showers. I haven’t taken a bath since I was a kid. I just like the feel of a shower, the hot water spraying down on me and the sound of it is just relaxing. I don’t want to sit in my bath water and have it get cold.
17 - What time do you need to wake up tomorrow morning? What is it that you have to be up for? Whenever I want. I don’t have anything going on.
18 - If you work, how often do you get paid? Would you prefer to get paid more or less often? I don’t have a job.
19 - What does your favourite pair of pyjamas look like? Do you wear them to sleep or just to be comfy around the house? I don’t really have like official pajamas, I’ve just been wear t-shirt dresses or oversized tees. That’s what is comfortable and convenient for me right now.
20 - How often do you wake up in the night needing a pee? I take care of that before bed.
21 - What apps do you use the most on your phone? TikTok, Kindle, Facebook.
22 - Do you prefer cats or dogs? Do you own any of either? I’m a doggo person and yes I have a German Shepherd/Lab mix named Princess Leia.
23 - Do you have one of those fridges that has an ice-maker in the front? If not, would you find one useful? No, we don’t have one like that. I don’t use ice anyway, so it doesn’t matter to me.
24 - Do you like wearing hats? What’s your favourite style? I wear beanies most often, but I have a few baseball caps as well.  25 - If you live in a household with pets, who is responsible for their care - both in terms of finance and the physical tasks involved? My mom and brother take care of majority of the financial stuff and my parents do more of the physical tasks. I of course used to help with what I could when I could, but as of now I’m not able to do anything physically.
26 - What’s your opinion on leggings as pants? >> I wear leggings as pants all the time? what even is there to say about it <<< Same. I don’t care.
27 - Have you ever driven in bare feet or do you think that’s too dangerous? I don’t drive.
28 - Have you ever walked out of a job before? What were the circumstances and did you ever go back? No, I’ve never had a job to walk out of.
29 - Do you collect anything? Are these things worth money or are they practical/sentimental items? I collect stuff, but they’re sentimental things.
30 - Do you have anything hanging from your ceiling apart from lights? A ceiling fan.

abit overwhelming this week - Feb 28,23 8:27am
Tumblr media
I may have agreed to a job I may regret later on, but at least I'm getting paid. I have to look after someone with alzthimers (is that how you spell it?) for 3 days. not gonna lie, I am pretty nervous about it. it may be my anxiety talking too, it may not be that bad. still, I feel like I agreed a little too quickly for my liking. especially when I get stumped on questions I am supposed to ask. I really want to work on that. especially when I hate having phone calls. man, I fckn hate phone calls. anywho, my little brother just left for school and I am taking the dogs out for their first outing, I don't need to shovel the snow this time around. which I am so happy about. snows so fckn heavy! I'm thinking about taking a nap this morning or just staying up and watch Shera on Netflix. if I am staying up, I might have a puff.
12:07pm - sooo... I ended up taking a nap and over slept. that was a good nap though, I really enjoyed it. anywho, I may move my appointment to this afternoon today. since I may start work on Wed. I was seriously thinking about post ponning it to next week. God it's so warm in the house. I still have things I need to talk about and a new method I want to try out.
4:17pm - I am currently sitting in the kitchen trying to decide what to have for supper.
lol never mind, my mother just said we could go charge up at the store tonight. we have mostly meat that my little brother doesn't eat. it kind of sucks but it is not his fault for being a little picky here and there.
OH! my therapy session went really well today, despite it being last minute. I had a lot to rant about and my method worked! I'm actually kind of shocked the pace method worked o.o I am also happy that it did, the pacing method helped me think. and now I gotta think about how I am going to go about this job I agreed to go to. like, I am genuinely nervous. this is my very first time looking after someone with alzheimer's (I looked it up this time) in my life. not gonna lie, I am very nervous.
8:09pm - we are having store bought pizzas and some snacks. I am getting more and more nervous about tomorrow, I got all (I hope) the details I need from them. she gave me a quick run down on things I needed to know. turns out, I am staying the night there and then heading home for a few hours. hopefully there won't be that much interaction. I am currently on my third (3rd) cup of coffee and second (2nd) cup of water.

Get to know me
(take two but this my first one)
I'm only doing this one cause I'm pissed in the moment and this takes a bit of my time, so I will give short and simple answers
1. Are you named after anyone?
Some of my irl friends call me Bambi because I had a Bambi necklace that I would wear it everyday.
Also my virtual friends call me Sunny because I didn't gave out my name in the beginning for private reasons
2. When was the last time you cried?
Today, I saw a few edits of "Tomorrow" this morning.
(best dorama btw)
3. Do you have kids?
Why this app hates me???? They fucking deleted my answer when I saved
NO I DONT AND I DONT WANT ANY KIDS
If u ever see me with a child, it's not mine.
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
I guess? I don't really think about that
5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?
Personality
6. What’s your eye color?
Dark brown
7. Scary movies or happy endings?
Both
8. Any special talents?
Talent is a strong word, most stuff that I know how to do it required practice. So I have no idea
9. Where were you born?
Brazil, born and raised
10. What are your hobbies?
Hmm, playing video games, muay thai, listening to metal until my ears bleed, making spicy looks with my clothes and I would say witchcraft but this is more like a lifestyle for me 💞
11. Have any pets?
2 cats and 1 dog
12. What sports do you play/have played?
Currently I am only doing Muay Thai and Ciclism but when I was younger I have done Jazz, Ballet, Circus and Judo
13. How tall are you?
5'2 but recently my mom measured me and it said I am actually 5'1 but I don't believe it
14. Favorite subject in school?
English
15. Dream job?
When I was a child I really wanted to be an actress, last year I graduated in arts school so now I'm a professional actress, so I guess I already accomplished something that my past self wanted? But at the moment I have been more into audio-visual, I just don't know which exact area. I would say that my Dream job rn is something to do in audio-visual tho
Okay, that's it. Sorry for the short answers!

Covid currently seems to be winning. I feel worse than I did last week. I woke up, coughed, and have spent most of the morning sobbing uncontrollably at the prospect of work tomorrow. I'm teaching 5 hours back to back followed by an hour long meeting and I'm dreading it. I start with two hours of Year 8. I seem to be able to do one thing a day and then be done. Today I don't seem able to do even one thing and I have to mark all the Year 12 progress tests, a stack of Year 11 mocks (though they can wait tbh) and do my extra job for OCR, who "kindly" gave me an extension to Wednesday, which is useless because it still means I have to do it all today because I'm too busy on Monday and Tuesday. And Tuesday is almost as busy as Monday and then I have choir in the evening and if I miss too many rehearsals I won't be allowed to sing in the concert. If I don't go to school tomorrow then my Year 8s and one of my Year 9 classes won't have seen me since before half term. I don't know what cover work to set them at this point.
But I just can't. Every pore of my body tells me I need to rest and preferably go to the seaside for a minimum of a week and take gentle daily walks in the fresh air and nothing else.
But I can't do that. And if I take too many days off because of Covid I'll be put on sick pay and lose income.
I hate everything. I can't stop crying.

1 - When was the last time you spent over $100 in one transaction? What did you buy? About a week ago - I had to place a new order for dog treats for work. I think it came to just over £200 total but I can claim it back on expenses. I’m also pretty sure this is a survey I made during lockdown three years ago lol.
2 - Do you sleep with a stuffed animal? Would you judge a grown adult for doing so? I do - and his name is Bear. Of course I wouldn’t judge another adult for doing exactly the same thing I do, lol.
3 - Would you describe yourself as fashion-conscious, or do you just wear whatever feels comfortable? I like to look good but that doesn’t really mean I follow fashion. I dress more for comfort and practicality on a day-to-day basis but I do like dressing up for like, days out or whatever too.
4 - The last time you got up from where you’re sitting, where did you go and what did you do? I emptied the washing machine and put the load away, put the next load on, put the dishes away and went to the toilet.
5 - Would you rather read an erotic novel or watch an erotic film? Read an erotic novel.
6 - Who taught you how to tell the time on a proper analogue clock? I think it was my dad, but I could have just learnt at school.
7 - What’s your favourite way to make your home smell good? Do you spend a lot of money on making this happen? Wax melts - it probably averages out to £15 a month or so over the year, but I buy in bulk. I got £100 worth in the sale just before Christmas for £50 - I’m currently working my way through them so I can get more at Easter.
8 - How long have you had the computer/tablet you’re currently using? Does it need replacing or upgrading? About a month. It’s slow but it was cheap and all I could afford at the time.
9 - When you’re home alone, do you make sure all your doors are kept locked? The front door locks automatically, but I leave the back door unlocked unless I’m going to bed.
10  - How often do you light candles? Do you just like regular ones or do  you prefer scented ones or ones that make pretty patterns when they melt? I light plain tealights in my wax burner everyday. I get through about 1.5 each day.
11 - Are you any good at taking care of plants? I’ve never really tried.
12 - How many surveys have you taken so far today? Will you take anymore surveys today once you’ve finished this one? This is my first one but I might take a few more - it depends how tired I am as I didn’t get much sleep last night lol.
13 - What are the main two colours in the room you’re currently in? Did you pick these colours out yourself? Dark red and grey, and yes.
14 - What was the last hot drink you consumed? What about cold drink? Coffee, Pepsi Max.
15 - Do you have piercings anywhere except your ears? How many and what are they? Yeah, just two - my nose and my belly button.
16 - Do you prefer taking baths or showers? How come? They both have their place. On a day-to-day basis I prefer showers but sometimes nothing beats a hot soak in the bath.
17 - What time do you need to wake up tomorrow morning? What is it that you have to be up for? Whenever I want - it’s my day off and I have no plans.
18 - If you work, how often do you get paid? Would you prefer to get paid more or less often? Some customers pay me daily, some weekly, some monthly and some termly - which works out fine for me.
19 - What does your favourite pair of pyjamas look like? Do you wear them to sleep or just to be comfy around the house? I have loads of pajamas but I couldn’t tell you the last time I wore any of them lol. I wear leggings and a hoody/jumper around the house and then a t-shirt to bed.
20 - How often do you wake up in the night needing a pee? Every night, at least once a night lol. I’ve always been that way.
21 - What apps do you use the most on your phone? Facebook, Instagram and a few Merge games.
22 - Do you prefer cats or dogs? Do you own any of either? I like them both equally - we have three cats and a dog.
23 - Do you have one of those fridges that has an ice-maker in the front? If not, would you find one useful? No - ours has a cold water dispenser thing though. I have a customer who has an ice maker in her fridge and whenever I do overnights there I use it as much as I possibly can hahah.
24 - Do you like wearing hats? What’s your favourite style? Not really but I wear them anyway as they’re practical - I wear beanies in winter and a baseball cap in summer.  25  - If you live in a household with pets, who is responsible for their care - both in terms of finance and the physical tasks involved? I’m the main “parent” lol - I pay for their insurance, do the vet visits and buy their food. I do the vast majority of care too - I walk the dog five days a week and do all the feedings apart from breakfast during the week. Mike walks the dog at weekends and does breakfast as he’s up before me.
26 - What’s your opinion on leggings as pants? I mean, what else would they be except pants?
27 - Have you ever driven in bare feet or do you think that’s too dangerous? Yeah, I love driving barefoot in summer. I used to drive 30-odd miles home from work in bare feet everyday - it felt a lot safer than in flats where my feet were all sweaty.
28 - Have you ever walked out of a job before? What were the circumstances and did you ever go back? Yeah - I was being bullied and my MH was really suffering for it. I handed in my notice along with a sick note and my keys and never went back lol.
29 - Do you collect anything? Are these things worth money or are they practical/sentimental items? Just wax melts and they’re practical, I guess, though it does help my MH to have a nice clean home that smells good too.
30 - Do you have anything hanging from your ceiling apart from lights? We do not.

January 12, 1888                                Current home: Pawnee, Nebraska
It was so warm this morning. I just can’t stop thinking about it.
Warm is a relative term here in the plains winters- but for the children who have been born and raised here, it was almost balmy. I spent the morning cleaning out my office. Restocking supplies for patients and airing out the rugs. It seemed like that’s what most people were doing- taking advantage of the good weather. There’s a lot of farms around here. I horse ride to most of my patients house visits, but it’s still a good community. The distance is only that, a bit of distance, their hearts are so intertwined. I like that in them.
And that makes this all the worse.
It was so warm.
I don’t even know how to explain what happened. It was so fast. It sounds crazy to explain to anyone who wasn’t here when it happened. It sounded like an explosion shook through the sky. I’ve never heard anything like it. And the temperature dropped so fast.
I’ve lived here for five years now, and I haven’t felt cold like this. It’s a brittle, piercing thing that wants to consume everything it touches. It’s only getting WORSE. And I don’t understand how that can be.
I was already back inside when it hit. I did everything in the morning and I was just making some tea and making notes about upcoming children’s wellness home check ups when the noise tore through in the afternoon. I remember seeing the thermometer saying it was a few degrees above freezing when I came inside. The snow had even been melting......it was -5f in minutes. It just kept dropping, and dropping.
And that’s when the sickening realization hit of just what time it was. The two nearby school houses would have just been getting out when the storm hit. If they hadn’t already left their two teachers would be left with an impossible choice: brave storm to get help, and hope you didn’t get lost in the 0 visibility, or, stay in the schoolhouse and hope you wouldn’t freeze to death inside.
It was so warm this morning.
To the children born and raised here, they didn’t wear their usual layers. Many only had left with their lighter coats. I saw the Peterson girl taking her younger brothers and the neighbor Freedman boys to school that morning. She had waved so excitedly. None of them are older than nine. None of them prepared for this. I don’t know if I should even dare to hope that they’re okay.
The waiting is the worst part. There’s not the infrastructure here that the cities have. No telephones. We all just have to wait out the storm. I still don’t know what my relationship with God is after all this time, but for the first time in a long time I think I just mumbled to wind.
It’s dark. It’s still raging outside. I can’t sleep. I imagine no one here is tonight.
Tomorrow, if it’s clear, the parents will start looking for survivors. If those kids survive the night it will be more than a miracle and I will still have my work cut out for me. I can’t bring back what’s dead.
