Mac getting called Mac here and there in his “Ronnie the rat” days and probably before but not embracing it until he watched Predator (1987) and it became his favorite movie for many years, and he thought the name Mac was so badass after watching that movie that he started making people call him it until it stuck.
Of course he was late to watch the movie because it’s rated R and while they didn’t have supervision most of the time he probably didn’t even watch this movie for the first time until after meeting Dennis.

and if I said that dennis’ insistence on being the breadwinner/provider despite literally being a pampered princess who dgaf about traditional roles of masculinity in every other regard (aside from ego) is because his mom only stayed with/chose frank for his wealth and dennis is highly aware that he’s difficult to love and unable to show his emotions openly so he has to be contributing something to the relationship materially in order to feel like he’s worth staying for… and mac grew up with parents who were extremely ambivalent to him and eachother so he has to overcompensate by proving his worth at every given moment and seeking praise/validation from people (and religious icons) who will never demonstrate the same amount of dedication to him but he has no idea how else to desperately keep himself close to those he loves other than by eroding himself into something they’ll approve of… dear god they’re both exactly what the other needs — someone who can’t and won’t leave them even if they try — and they don’t even see it…

I can't believe in 16 seasons we have never had an episode about the twins' birthday. Just think about the traditions that must exist after 47 years, the competition that would ensue, and maybe even a little wholesomeness? I need it.

i think it’s far funnier to believe sweet dee is named that ironically than some “it was unironic before she hit her head and changed her personality” bullshit
i love the idea of her being a little terror at 7 years old (i KNOW those twins were hell to babysit) and earning the nickname out of pure evilness
“what cute kids you have, that little blonde girl is so sweet!” meanwhile dee is setting a squirrel on fire in the backyard because dennis thought it was cute

Obviously the whole ‘little Tim Drake is left all alone with only a housekeeper Mrs Mac who just comes briefly a few days a week” thing is often just for people who want that specific angst, not canon accuracy…
But I feel like a lot of people simply do not know that not only did Mrs Mac not work for the Drakes until Tim was already a 14 year old Robin, but she was a live-in maid. She lived at Drake Manor. Far from only popping in every few days, she was at Drake Manor almost 24/7 and Tim had to sneak past her to go on patrol sometimes.
Mrs Mac literally does not seem to have a place to live in the US other than where she is meant to stay in Drake Manor, because her husband lives in Kilkenny, Ireland and that’s where she goes back to when they had to fire her.
When Tim’s dad is gone she’s home with Tim making him meals and cleaning. When the Drakes briefly move across the country she moves with them because she lives with them. From what we see in comics Tim is rarely intentionally left home alone and when he is, not only is he already a teenager but also his dad is very conscientious of Tim being home alone.
(This does not, however, mean that Tim does not sneak away from supervision. He does that constantly. Case in point: when Bruce was looking for a kidnapped Jack Drake and Tim got away from Mrs Mac by claiming he was going on vacation with Ives when he was actually sleeping in his dad’s penthouse to do Robin stuff in the city.)
