How to Stop Procrastinating by Managing Your Emotions
Procrastination happens when we delay doing things, and it's often connected to our emotions. Feelings like being afraid to fail, feeling worried or stressed, getting bored, or lacking motivation can all contribute to procrastination. To stop procrastinating and get more things done, it's important to learn how to handle our emotions better.
Boredom:
Break the task into smaller, more engaging sub-tasks.
Find ways to make the task more interesting or challenging.
Set a timer and work on the task for a specific amount of time, followed by a short break doing something enjoyable.
Feeling Overwhelmed:
Prioritize tasks and focus on one thing at a time.
Break the task into smaller, more manageable steps.
Delegate some parts of the task if possible or seek help from others.
Use tools like to-do lists or task management apps to stay organized.
Anxiety:
Practice deep breathing or mindfulness techniques to calm yourself.
Challenge negative thoughts and replace them with more positive and realistic ones.
Start with the easier or less intimidating aspects of the task to build momentum.
Set realistic expectations and remind yourself that it's okay to make mistakes.
Self-Doubt:
Focus on past accomplishments and successes to boost your confidence.
Seek support or feedback from others to gain reassurance.
Remind yourself of your skills and capabilities to tackle the task.
Use positive affirmations to counteract negative self-talk.
Perfectionism:
Embrace the concept of "good enough" rather than seeking perfection.
Set realistic and achievable goals for each task.
Recognize that mistakes and imperfections are part of the learning process and growth.
Indecisiveness:
Break decisions into smaller steps and make one small decision at a time.
Set a time limit for making decisions to avoid overthinking.
Trust your instincts and make the best decision you can with the information available.
Apathy or Lack of Interest:
Find aspects of the task that align with your values or long-term goals.
Break the task into smaller, more manageable parts and focus on completing one at a time.
Reward yourself for completing the task to make it more appealing.
Stress or Burnout:
Practice stress-reduction techniques such as meditation, exercise, or spending time in nature.
Break tasks into smaller steps to reduce the feeling of overwhelm.
Prioritize self-care and take breaks to avoid burnout.
Feeling Uninspired or Creatively Blocked:
Engage in activities that stimulate creativity, such as brainstorming, mind mapping, or seeking inspiration from others' work.
Start with a simple and basic version of the task to get the creative juices flowing.
Collaborate with others or seek feedback to gain new perspectives.
Fear of Success:
Identify and challenge the negative beliefs or fears that may be holding you back.
Visualize the positive outcomes of completing the task successfully.
Focus on the benefits and personal growth that come with success.
Impatience:
Break long-term goals into smaller milestones to track progress.
Practice mindfulness to stay present and patient throughout the process.
Remind yourself that progress takes time and effort.
Lack of Confidence:
Celebrate your past accomplishments to boost your confidence.
Seek support and encouragement from friends, family, or mentors.
Focus on building specific skills related to the task to increase confidence.
Avoiding Discomfort:
Acknowledge that discomfort is a natural part of growth and improvement.
Break tasks into smaller steps and tackle the more challenging aspects gradually.
Remind yourself of the long-term benefits of facing discomfort.
Overestimating Future Motivation:
Practice discipline and commit to starting tasks even when motivation is low.
Set specific deadlines for tasks to create a sense of urgency.
Establish a routine that includes regular work on the task to build consistency.

🌙☁️Astrology Life 🎸🍀
🌙The Ascendant, chart ruler, Sun, and Moon are important factors in your life. Ascendant and chart ruler- because they define your self-image and worldview, your heroic purpose (Sun), and your inner "soul life" (Moon).
💫An unaspected planet plays a key role too. It represents an inner drive that the person may find difficult to connect to or feel in control of.
🦋Home and family are ur 4th house. It represents the part of your life where you find your safe place and where you feel you belong. When u have Uranus in the 4th u seek freedom and change, but with Saturn (particularly in sensible Capricorn) seeks to feel grounded and safe. And then if you have IC in Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter in the 9th, it is no wonder that somehow u desire to live abroad - but at times this may leave you feeling like a stranger, cut off from your roots (Uranus in 4th).
💘About relationships
If you have stellium in libra ->Relationships of all kinds are likely to be a consistent theme. And if you have descendant ruler in taurus this mean that this house is ruled by venus you might reach for a peaceful, loving, and affectionate relationship. But when you have venus aspects to independent Uranus you will always feel that you need freedom or something unique.
🌌North node and your purpose in life. If you have your north node in 3rd house you are meant to do something related to your communication skills. To share your thoughts with others. If you have north node in 5th house being creative, finding fun and being forever young is your purpose in this life. If you have north node in 8th house it means that in life you will always follow something deeper, mysterious. It will be important for you to find people and a partner whom you can trust and surrender to completely. Doing something related to astrology, psychology will bring you a lot of joy. If you have north node in aries it means that a large part of your life will be energy and focus on you. If you have north node in pisces your focus will always be on something that is more unknown, spiritual, isolated but also artistic.
🩵How u see yourself is your 1st house and how u see others is your 7th house. The Ascendant and the 1st house - also represent new chapters. And how you deal with them. With a Virgo Ascendant for instance, there might be a degree of anxiety about how things will unfold and a good strategy would be to make sure you have all the details of your new journey organized well ahead of time. By contrast, if you have a Pisces Ascendant, each new phase begins with an inner vision, to which you might need to hold fast until dry land appears. With Capricorn Ascendant you like to change things and jump into something, but you always think before taking a step. With Cancer Ascendant may be more difficult to accept something new and go outside the comfort zone.
🎸Jupiter is our place of vision and inspiration, our style of keeping the faith. Understanding your Jupiter allows you to manage risk in your own way. If your Jupiter is in Aries, faith is boldly expressed, which probably makes you a confident decision-maker. If your Jupiter is in Aquarius you will always think outside the box. Your faith will be in things that are more unique and in which not everyone believes.
🔥Fire offers natural buoyancy and the higher the fire content in your chart, the stronger your faith is likely to be that, no matter what the situation, you believe that somehow it will all be fine. If you lack fire though, the elements that are strongly represented will flow in to do the job.
🌬️Air If you have no fire but several planets in air, you might tackle the unknown by trying to articulate it - talk about it, mind-map it, write lists and plans of what you are going to do. If you don't have a lot of air, then you won't think or communicate as much.
🏔️With lots of planets in earth you might only feel safe with a contingency plan in place - you deal with uncertainty through savings plans and a good insurance policy. If you don’t have a lot of earth, then you will not be so practical and you will have a harder time dealing with reality.
🌊With several planets in water, uncertainty might centre around times of emotional crisis - having a good support network of friends and family makes all the difference. If you don’t have water, you will not be a very emotional person.
🧊Everyone deals with stress differently. It is usually shown through Mars (because it represents our energy). Scorpio mars may feel stressed when they are exposed too much or their privacy is threatened. Taurus feeling rushed can bring anxiety. Sagittarius stress comes from having to fit yourself into a pre-set plan. Pisces when they are surrounded by people they don't know or in a big crowd.
🥊Choosing a hobby or a sport is 5th house & mars. Both represent energy, joy, movement, work on yourself, enjoyment. For ex.: Saturn perhaps mountain-cimbing can be your thing. Mercury something related to mentality, social games. Neptune you might enjoy swimming, take photos. Venus makeup, clothes, listening to music. If you have mercury aspects with venus you can be good at writing.
🍀In friendships or when it comes to creating bond with people. It is your venus sign. Venus in Aquarius your friend group might be based on a belief of giving equal value to all. Your relationship will also be more friendly. Venus in Sagittarius your friendship it will be based on energy, interests and how fun and lively you will feel. Relationship will require a lot of passion, directness and sincerity. Venus in Leo they might not fully appreciate your tendency to treat everyone the same and begin to doubt your loyalty. They want relationship that have passion, loyalty.
🌴Fire signs tend to seek fun and adventure with friends. 🦦Air signs prefer intellectual and social connection. 🫧Water signs seek an emotional type of bond. 🫐Earth signs often conduct relationships at a slower pace than other signs.
🪐Saturn shows what you can achieve and in what way. It also shows where you look for respect and professionalism. It also shows where you perform best under pressure. Where is your concentration best. For ex.: Saturn in 1st house your energy is generally very calm. You have a very good reaction to everything that happens, and many times you are also calm. Saturn in 7th house you work very well in the courts and can keep your blood calm. You have a lot of patience in your relationship. Saturn in 8th house you work very well when it comes to things that are hidden, illegal or financial. Keeping a secret or doing something in secret is very easy for you. Saturn in 3rd house works very well in exams, driving a car, you can keep your mind very calm and you get concentration quickly.
💿Sun & 10th house show how you should shine and in what way. Sun is how u find light and inspiration. It shows your creativity and personality. 10th house shows career, public identity, what you can give to the world, authority. So having Sun in 9th house & MC in Scorpio means that you can teach people a lot and that you can give people a new perspective on the world with your deep view. People can learn a lot from you and see you as a powerful person. You can know a lot about life itself, places, theories, facts.
🏹How you experience the world, the invisibility of the world, spirituality, how creative your thoughts are is your 12th house. Having Sagittarius in 12th house -can mean that you see the world through imagination, illusion, dreaminess. They are interested in these things that are not seen on the outside. U like places that look like a dream and that have a soul.
☁️Imagine a place you really enjoy and find everything you've always wanted. You live exactly the way you wanted. And this place, thing, person or life that you imagine is represented by your 12th house and Neptune. In order to feel fulfilled in yourself, you should really live according to the sign, planets we have in the 12th house. For ex.: mars in 12th house in sagittarius -you should always live in such a way that you find optimism, light and happiness wherever you go and where you are. Always do something that makes your subconscious happy and gives you energy. A place which is beautiful, spiritual, by the ocean. Live in the moment. Leo in 12th house you should always live in a way that makes your inner child happy. Live to make a memory. Capricorn in 12th house you should live in such a way that you will always feel strong, successful and proud. Taurus in 12th house you should always live with music and carry it with you. Libra in 12th house you should always live with harmony, beauty forget about others and find beauty in yourself.

5 Ways Journaling Can Help You Write Your Novel
Tumblr media
Every year, we’re lucky to have great sponsors for our nonprofit events. Day One, a 2023 NaNoWriMo sponsor, is an award-winning journaling app. Today, author and journaling expert Kristen Webb Wright shares a few tips on how journaling can help your creative writing:
Aspiring novelists often find themselves on a challenging journey to bring their stories to life. The blank page can be intimidating, and writer's block can strike at any moment. However, there's a powerful tool that can help you overcome these hurdles and fuel your novel-writing dreams: journaling.
Journaling is more than just recording daily events or jotting down your thoughts—it's a practice that can supercharge your creative process and sharpen your storytelling skills. In fact, numerous famous writers kept journals or diaries throughout their lives, using their personal chronicles to cultivate their literary masterpieces
Here are five ways journaling can help you write your novel:
1. Draw Inspiration from Everyday Life
Novel writing often draws inspiration from the events and experiences of everyday life. Use your journal to document intriguing encounters, interesting conversations, or even mundane moments that can be woven into your story. Everyday life is a treasure trove of material for creating relatable and authentic narratives. Your journal can serve as a repository of these real-life gems.
2. A Private Space to Explore Ideas
Journaling offers a unique and private sanctuary where you can explore your wildest ideas without judgment or fear of criticism. It's a space where you can experiment with unconventional plot twists, quirky characters, or daring themes. Since your journal is for your eyes only, you can be completely honest and uninhibited in your exploration, allowing your creativity to soar to new heights.
3. Overcome Writer’s Block
Writer's block is a formidable adversary for novelists, but journaling can be your secret weapon to defeat it. When you're stuck, turn to your journal and simply write. Pour out your frustrations, write about your day, or describe your surroundings. The act of writing, even if it's unrelated to your novel, can kickstart your creativity and get the words flowing. Journaling serves as a safe space where you can experiment, break through creative barriers, and rediscover your writing flow.
4. Develop and Organize Plots and Character Details
A well-organized plot is crucial for a successful novel. Journaling can help you outline and structure your story effectively. Use your journal to jot down plot ideas, timelines, and chapter summaries. Create mind maps or visual diagrams to visualize your story's progression. The act of putting your novel's elements on paper will help you maintain a clear and organized narrative as you write.
5. Track Progress and Set Goals
Writing a novel is a significant undertaking, and it's easy to feel overwhelmed. Journaling provides a space for tracking your progress and setting achievable goals. Record your daily or weekly word counts, celebrate milestones, and reflect on your writing journey. You can even use your journal to set writing goals and deadlines. It's a motivational tool that keeps you accountable and focused on completing your novel.
Journaling is a versatile and invaluable tool for aspiring novelists. So, why not pick up your journal and start harnessing its power to write the novel you've always dreamed of? Every word you write in your journal is a step closer to bringing your story to life.
Start your journaling journey today, and watch your novel flourish like never before. Happy writing!

Summary:
The unapologetic scrutiny sees Oliver shivering right down to his toes; the risqué thrill leaving him desperate for more as he pictures the sight they must make from the rooftop garden opposite. His ruminations don’t last long, however, and the sudden emptiness at his core incites a flustered whine, even as the low rasp of Elio’s zipper proves a slow-motion herald of what’s to come.
THE PROOF OF THE PUDDING (IS IN THE EATING)
With its three spindly legs and sleek, curving edges, the reconditioned baby grand is a great deal sturdier than Oliver first assumed, watching the fastidious moving team guide it up three flights of steps to their East Village brownstone apartment. It’d earned him a smirk: that absent-minded observation. Unsuccessfully hidden behind the blue, Columbia Lions mug Elio’s long-since claimed for his own. Yet seeing is believing - as his much-missed bubbe liked to say - and if the past four years have taught him anything, it’s that in order to trust in the improbable, one must first be prepared to embrace the absurd.
Hence the reason he finds himself bare-assed naked on the stately instrument’s cool, mahogany lid.
Grey tracksuit bottoms hobbling his sockless ankles.
Hitching gasps misting the lacquered surface as Elio’s nimble digits scissor his spit-slick rim.
The splayed-wide pads of Oliver’s fingertips are smeared with sweat: the tense muscles of his torso even more so. Gaining leverage is nigh-on impossible, and when Elio strums a ruthless staccato against his screaming prostate, the incoherent plea that spills from his throat has the other man chuckling exaltedly; eyes mischief-bright where he hooks his chin over his straining shoulder.
“You’re doing so well…” he murmurs into the riotous clatter of his pulse. “Uno spettacolo così bello. Tell me: how does it feel?”
Oliver groans at the unexpected bite to his earlobe. “Sacrilegious,” he pants, all thoughts of structural integrity forgotten as a soothing hand cards his bedraggled hair. “Whatever would Bach have to say?”
Elio flashes a thousand-watt grin. “Oh… the Old Wig was pretty creative,” he answers sagely, angling his face for a clumsy kiss. One that tastes of Yakisoba chicken from the Japanese shokudo on the corner, yet dissolves like powdered sugar upon his tongue. “He’d probably suggest we try it andante.” A beat. “Or maybe a lively allegro,” he adds, skimming the jutting vertebrae of Oliver’s spine. “With a brisk vivace to finish.”
Oliver sniggers. “You’re a menace, Perlman…”
“Always,” he allows, mapping the field of goosebumps that adorn his flank. “But presented like this?” The floorboards creak as a jean-clad thigh urges his trembling knees apart. “All stretched and pink? Taking my fingers so nicely…”
“Sweetheart, please…”
Elio tugs him impossibly closer. “You’ll take my cock too,” he says then, a simple statement of fact, then proceeds to squeeze his buttock once, twice, three times firmly; opening him further with his thumb. “You’re beautiful, mon amour.”
“Siete pronti?” he asks, painting the sticky pearls of arousal around his greedy hole.
“I’ve been ready,” Oliver protests, the gentle nudge of his glans making him clench in vain.
Chapped lips return to the hinge of his jaw.
Sharp teeth worry the mottled bruise at his collar.
“Elio…” he hears, a blatant provocation before he’s breached properly, and Oliver grunts, choking expletives into the crook of his elbow as his tormentor huffs a bubbling laugh. “Elio… Elio… Elio…”
His hamstrings are taut where he’s held spread-eagle. His scrotum growing ever tighter at the sense of utter fullness. Over and over, his lover thrusts within him. Over and over, Oliver chants the words in concert: hiccuping the other man’s name until the syllables blend together. Until he’s shuddering - splintering - his brain damn-near convulsing as Elio reaches to stroke his leaking shaft.
“I’ve got you, mon chéri,” he whispers, circling the spongy tip through each rolling wave, and when Elio buries himself balls-deep - collapsing like a rag doll as he climaxes thereafter - the erratic thrum of Oliver’s racing heart beats a perfect accompaniment to the breathless I love yous peppered between them.

From Ink to Screen: Unveiling the Magic of Penning Your Novel on Paper Before Typing
Embracing the Art of Handwriting in the Digital Age
Dear fellow writers and scribes, in this modern era dominated by digital screens and keyboards, there exists a timeless art that holds an invaluable place in the world of storytelling—the act of writing a novel manuscript by hand. In this exploration, we uncover the profound benefits and enchantment of embracing the age-old practice of putting pen to paper before transcribing our narratives onto the digital canvas.
Cultivating a Deeper Connection with Your Story
Harnessing the Power of Pen and Paper
Writing by hand establishes an intimate connection between author and narrative. The tactile sensation of the pen gliding across the paper sparks a different form of creativity, fostering a deeper engagement with the story.
Unleashing Uninhibited Creativity
The absence of the backspace key frees the mind from self-editing, allowing the writer to explore uncharted territories without the pressure of perfection. Handwriting encourages a raw and unfiltered flow of ideas.
Enhancing Cognitive Processes and Memory Retention
The Brain-Hand Coordination
Physically writing engages various motor skills and cognitive processes, stimulating the brain in ways that typing does not. This process aids in information retention and deepens understanding of the narrative.
Solidifying Memory and Imagination
Studies suggest that handwriting improves memory retention. By crafting the story by hand, authors reinforce their connections to characters, plots, and settings, fostering a more vivid and immersive world within their minds.
Embracing the Artistry of Writing
Emotion and Authenticity in Penmanship
The nuances of handwriting, the pace, the pressure, the emotion behind each stroke of the pen, infuse the manuscript with a unique essence. Handwriting embodies a sense of authenticity that's often felt in the storytelling.
Overcoming Writer's Block
The physical act of writing can help break through creative blocks. The freedom to doodle, draw mind maps, or jot down thoughts alongside the text encourages a free flow of ideas.
Transitioning from Page to Screen
Transcribing to Digital: A Stage of Refinement
After the manuscript is written on paper, typing it onto a computer becomes a stage of refinement. This transition allows for editing, revising, and refining the narrative with a fresh perspective.
Utilizing the Best of Both Worlds
The digital medium offers the advantage of efficient editing, formatting, and ease of sharing. Combining the organic creativity of handwriting with the digital tools refines the manuscript to its best form.
Blending Tradition with Technology
The convergence of handwritten creation and digital refinement unveils a harmonious blend, allowing writers to harness the depth of their creativity while benefiting from the efficiency and modern tools provided by technology. Embrace the art of writing on paper before typing, and discover the enriched depth and authenticity it adds to your storytelling.
As you embark on your writing journey, consider weaving the magic of pen and paper into your creative process, embracing the unique connection and creativity it unlocks. Explore this balance and discover the beauty of both worlds in your literary endeavors.
Happy writing!

The Subtle Art of Subterfuge
Summary: The relentless pressures of command and the weight of unspoken burdens push General Kirigan to the brink of collapse. To safeguard their leader’s well-being, Ivan and Fedyor must navigate their own concerns, master the delicate balance of loyalty and tactical overstepping, and, quite incidentally, mislead the Tsar himself to ensure Kirigan gets some much-needed rest. Amidst the chaos of war, a story of loyalty, duty, and quiet moments of humanity unfolds, revealing the cost of responsibility and the strength found in vulnerability. Notes: This story is an AU. It takes place before Alina turns up. Kirigan is not the villain he will be later in the series. Please note that English is not my first language, but I did my best to find most mistakes. (Feel free to point them out to me!). I took certain creative liberties, particularly with respect to Ivans view of the Tsar and the characterization of the main characters but I hope, you will just roll with it. And now have fun! And thank you for reading.
Tumblr media
The campaign tent in Kribirsk, battered by the relentless winds, mirrored the week's unyielding pressures. Outside, the gales threatened to rip the canvas from its moorings, while inside, General Kirigan sat hunched over a desk that served as the command centre for his strategic planning. Maps of troop movements and supply lines were spread out before him, an extensive compilation of data that demanded his attention. The weak light of a lantern flickered, struggling against the gloom of the day, casting long shadows over the documents that held the key to future manoeuvres. The air was bitterly cold, the kind that clawed at your flesh and settled deep within your bones. The sky, a blanket of unyielding greys, promised nothing but the continuation of the dreary cold. Kirigan, however, seemed detached from the world around him, his focus solely on sifting through and organizing the intelligence, his occasional coughs stifled in the crook of his arm when he thought no one was watching.
Outside, the restless shifting of horses and the sound of hooves stamping impatiently against the ground filled the air, as Ivan and Fedyor had prepared them for departure at Kirigan's earlier command. Having returned to the tent, they found Kirigan still deeply engrossed in prioritizing the information for his report to the tsar, oblivious to their presence and the readiness of the horses. "He looks like death," Ivan muttered under his breath, as Kirigan massaged his temples, a gesture betraying a weariness that seemed too profound for one man to bear. Fedyor's nod, almost imperceptible, came as a silent agreement to his grim assessment.
Their voices were a hushed murmur, barely audible over the howl of the wind and the occasional snort of the horses outside. They stood at the edge of the tent, their eyes never straying from Kirigan, who seemed to have sunken further into his chair, another quiet sign of his waning strength. Ivan's mind replayed the morning's decisions, the subtle signs of Kirigan's decline that he had failed to recognize. Regret gnawed at him as he recalled the healers' departure, a move that seemed prudent amidst the chaos at the front lines and the multitude of wounded there. Now, witnessing Kirigan's deteriorating condition, Ivan couldn't shake the feeling that he should have insisted on keeping at least one healer in the camp. And yet, there was a part of him that knew Kirigan too well, the pride that would not allow weakness to be displayed, the same pride that now left Ivan questioning whether any of them could have seen through the façade.
"We can't let him ride like this," Fedyor breathed, his words just about reaching Ivan's ears over the snapping of the tent’s fabric in the fierce wind. "He's barely holding on."
With a furrowed brow, Ivan’s thoughts whirled with potential solutions. Then, inspiration struck. “We’ll warn him of a brewing storm,” he murmured, the idea crystallizing as he spoke, “and suggest that taking the carriage is merely a precaution against the weather.” He was certain Kirigan would reject any notion of rest, but he might be persuaded to seek shelter from a storm for practical reasons. As another cough racked Kirigan's frame, this time his face half-shielded by both hands in a vain attempt to stifle the sound, his companions knew it was time to act. Exchanging a resolute glance, they nodded to each other, a silent accord reached. Without a word, they began to implement their hastily formed plan, each move deliberate, their resolve unwavering.
With determined steps, they approached their general, their faces etched with solemnity. "General, the weather is turning," Ivan began, his voice cutting through the mournful tune of the wind against the canvas. "A blizzard is coming. It would be unwise to travel on horseback."
Kirigan’s eyes, clouded with fatigue, lifted to meet theirs. A subtle crease formed between his brows, a brief sign of his bewilderment. “The report,” he stated, his voice hoarse, “You do realize I must deliver it to the Tsar this evening.” "And it will be delivered," Fedyor assured him, standing close but careful not to overstep boundaries. "If we set out now, we will arrive in time. The carriage ride will offer you the quiet needed to finalize it. It's better to have it ready upon arrival than to rush through it before presenting yourself to the Tsar." For a moment, Kirigan’s gaze lingered on the maps scattered across the desk, lost in silent contemplation of the journey ahead. Then, with a weary resolve, he gave a tired nod, too spent to notice the fabricated tale of the impending storm - or maybe simply too spent to argue. With a deep breath, he began the methodical process of gathering the carefully selected documents, ensuring that each piece of intelligence was ready to form the basis of his report to the Tsar. Meanwhile, Fedyor slipped out of the tent, no doubt making the necessary arrangements for the carriage and their departure.
By the time Kirigan had completed his preparations, Fedyor had returned. They exchanged a look of relief, a mutual understanding that they had successfully diverted their general from a dangerous course.
As the carriage trundled away from the camp, Kirigan delved into the pages before him with a concentration that defied his evident exhaustion. He pored over the reports, annotated and corrected with a meticulous hand.
Yet, as the afternoon progressed, Ivan could see the toll it was taking on him. His once precise movements over the papers became sluggish, and his intense focus seemed to drift. A subtle shift in Fedyor’s stance told him that his partner had also noticed Kirigan’s waning alertness. As if in response, the shadows within the carriage seemed to deepen, casting a pall over Kirigan’s features, mirroring the fatigue that was slowly closing his eyes.  And finally, the inevitable happened; Kirigan’s head nodded forward, succumbing to the exhaustion that overpowered even his formidable spirit. Fedyor, his gaze lingering on the now peaceful face of his general, allowed a rare, soft sigh to escape—a sound that resonated with Ivan’s own sense of relief. He was quick to secure the reports before they could scatter across the carriage floor, all the while feeling like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders at the sight of his superior finally surrendering to much-needed sleep. Catching Fedyor’s eye, Ivan allowed himself a brief, shared glance of satisfaction, before he set to work, mirroring the general’s earlier meticulousness. Yet, despite the focus the task demanded, Ivan’s gaze continually returned to Kirigan, vigilantly monitoring for any signs of his condition worsening.
The carriage’s movements were subtle yet unyielding, each bump in the road nudging Kirigan’s form. His body, limp in his exhaustion, shifted incrementally with the carriage’s rhythm, inching ever closer to the cold, unforgiving wall. Fedyor, observing the subtle movement, leapt from his seat and reached Kirigan just as his body began to lean perilously to the side. With a deft movement, Fedyor stopped his descent, his arms wrapping around the general with practiced ease. He then maneuvered himself into the corner, his repositioning allowing Kirigan to recline securely against him, his head now resting against Fedyor’s chest.
His worry deepened as Ivan watched how his partner adjusted his hold on the sick man, ensuring he was securely anchored against him. The fact that Kirigan did not react to being moved that way spoke volumes of his condition, revealing an exhaustion so profound it verged on unconsciousness. With the weight of concern pressing on his chest, Ivan’s hands resumed their task over the reports, continuing the work that the general could no longer manage. The carriage’s rhythmic sway became a backdrop to his focused task, each line of text a step towards completion, building upon the substantial groundwork laid by Kirigan before succumbing to fatigue. The General’s breaths were shallow, and despite Fedyor’s efforts to steady him, his body was occasionally wracked with coughs that threatened to dislodge him from his protective embrace. Then, in the moments of calm between the spasms, a new problem made itself known. Kirigan’s form began to tremble, a visible shudder that spoke of a fever’s encroaching grip. Fedyor’s hand moved to Kirigan’s forehead, his touch confirming the heat that was rising from within. “He’s burning up,” he whispered, his voice a soft echo in the close confines of the carriage.
In response, Ivan gently draped his thick, red cloak over Kirigan's trembling form. The rich color of the fabric stood out vividly against the general's pale complexion. He arranged the cloak with a practiced ease, ensuring every shiver was met with a layer of warmth. As his Heartrender abilities allowed him to perceive the changes in the General’s condition, he was acutely aware of how rapid the rhythm of Kirigan’s pulse had become, an invisible yet palpable sign of the fever raging within. He also noticed each subtle hint of energy as Fedyor intervened, gently coaxing the pulse to slow when respiratory distress tightened Kirigan’s breath or when he began to shift restlessly, striving to maintain a semblance of calm and afford Kirigan whatever measure of rest he could amidst the bouts of coughing.
After Ivan finally had finished the report for the tsar, he leaned back in his seat, his gaze lingering on the face of his leader. The dark circles under Kirigan's eyes were not just signs of his acute illness but also of the relentless days and sleepless nights of the last weeks. His features, though drawn and reflecting a weight loss that his slender frame could ill afford, did not convey frailty but rather an unsettling delicacy. It was as if the hardships had sculpted away any excess, leaving behind the essence of a man who bore his burdens with an unwavering resolve.
Kirigan's face, unusually soft in his deep state of exhaustion, appeared youthful, almost disarmingly so. It seemed out of place with the heavy responsibilities he carried—a stark contrast to the power and command he wielded. Ivan felt a twinge of something akin to protectiveness, a desire to shield this man who, in these quiet moments, seemed too burdened for his years.
The carriage wheels spun a steady rhythm against the cobblestones, the sound a constant undercurrent to the General's labored breathing. As the Little Palace neared, Ivan caught Fedyor's eye, a silent signal passing between them. It was time to wake Kirigan, to give him a moment to gather himself before they rolled into the courtyard. Fedyor leaned in, his voice a low murmur, "General, we're nearing the Palace." The words were a gentle summons, pulling Kirigan from the depths of his fevered rest.
Kirigan's response was a mere flutter of eyelids, a slow drift back into consciousness. His eyes, normally so clear and commanding, now were glassy with unspoken suffering. His skin was pale, almost translucent, and his body seemed weakened, as if the strength that once defined him was now but a whisper of what it had been. Ivan caught the subtle shift in Kirigan’s expression, a hint of realization dawning as he apparently became aware of the protective embrace encircling him. As he slowly turned his head, his gaze found Fedyor’s. There was no surprise in his eyes, only the weary acceptance of a man too tired to question the comfort offered. He did not comment, nor did he need to; their years of camaraderie spoke in the silence between them. Then, gathering the remnants of his strength, Kirigan attempted to rise, his movements tentative and slow. But his effort to sit up was a struggle; his body seemingly resisted every command. Fedyor, perceptive to his General’s plight, stepped in. With a firm yet careful grip, he aided Kirigan to an upright position, providing the support his weakened state demanded.
"You need the healers," Ivan's voice was a gentle yet firm declaration, cutting through the silence of the carriage’s shadowed confines. In the briefest of pauses, a shadow of awareness seemed to pass over Kirigan’s features, hinting at the pressing responsibilities that lay in wait. “The report for the Tsar…” he began, his voice barely above a whisper, the effort to speak visibly taxing him. Ivan interjected softly, ‘It’s completed, General. I’ve seen to its finish, and I’ll ensure it’s delivered to His Majesty.’ He placed a reassuring hand on Kirigan’s shoulder, feeling the fever’s heat radiating through his Kefta. ‘Your well-being is paramount now. Let us take care of you.’ In the dim light, Kirigan's eyes became a battleground. In a fleeting moment there was a clash of pride against the stark reality of his physical limits, a duel between the ingrained sense of duty that defined him and the creeping exhaustion that threatened to overpower his will.
The struggle within was evident, yet, beneath the surface, there was a weariness, a fatigue so profound it seemed to echo in the very air around him.
Ivan watched, his heart heavy with a mix of respect and concern, as Kirigan's resolve wavered, his eyes closing wearily in a moment of exhaustion. And then, with a slow, almost imperceptible nod, Kirigan conceded, an admission of his humanity that Ivan had seldom seen.
As the carriage came to a halt in the sparsely populated courtyard of the Little Palace, the murmur within ceased, drawing curious glances from a few Grisha scattered around. Ivan opened the carriage door, his gaze briefly sweeping over the onlookers before fixating intently on Kirigan, who was next to disembark. The General, looking more vulnerable than ever, emerged into the evening light, his body swaying perilously. To the untrained eye, his movements might have seemed deliberate, a mere adjustment to stepping onto solid ground after a long carriage ride. The General’s face, however, told a different story. Already pale, it now turned a ghastly shade of white. Kirigan’s lips, usually set in a firm line, faded within seconds into two bloodless streaks. Tiny beads of sweat erupted across his forehead, and his hand gripped the carriage’s frame with a trembling strength. It was a rapid transformation, one that laid bare the severity of his condition to those who knew him best. Fedyor, who had swiftly exited the carriage as well, was quick to offer support, sliding Kirigan’s arm around his shoulder in a firm yet gentle hold. Ivan, recognizing the action as a stark highlight of the General’s poor condition, was slightly shocked by Fedyor’s forwardness. He himself would have never dared to expose the General’s weakness so openly. But surprisingly, Kirigan simply acknowledged the need for support in front of his subordinates and leaned exhausted into the strength provided by his loyal companion.
The few onlookers’ expressions morphed from casual interest to stark alarm as they witnessed their usually indomitable leader falter. A gasp rippled through the crowd, and an observant guard immediately stepped forward, her gaze meeting Kirigan’s for a fleeting moment, a silent question hanging between them. With a weary nod, Kirigan granted permission, and she carefully placed his other arm over her shoulder, mirroring Fedyor’s supportive stance. Together, the trio began their measured procession towards the infirmary, Fedyor and the guard synchronizing their steps, moving with deliberate care to match the General’s weakened pace. The door guard, having kept a watchful eye on the unfolding scene, seamlessly swung the palace doors open just as the trio set into motion. His actions were a quiet echo of the shared concern for the General, and as they moved toward the infirmary, it was clear that others within the palace were equally ready to provide aid, their actions reflecting a collective sense of care for their leader. Ivan watched them leave, appreciating as Kirigan permitted himself to be helped. To admit vulnerability was not a sign of weakness but a testament to true strength, and Ivan knew that in allowing himself to be cared for, Kirigan only garnered more sympathy and solidarity from those around him. With the knowledge that his General was in good hands, Ivan turned his attention to the task ahead. Though the prospect of addressing the Tsar was a necessary evil, the loyalty he held for Kirigan outweighed his personal contempt. Standing before the throne on behalf of his leader was a duty he accepted without hesitation, but driven by loyalty to Kirigan alone, rather than any reverence for the man who wore the crown. With the report clutched securely under his arm, Ivan’s stride was purposeful as he entered the throne room. The Tsar, ensconced upon his grand throne, looked up with a flicker of annoyance, his brow furrowing in a frown. ‘Where is Kirigan?’ he demanded, his voice echoing off the high walls.
“Circumstances necessitated his immediate conveyance to the healers, Your Majesty," Ivan began, his voice laden with the gravity of the situation. "Ravaged by a fever of vehement intensity, he was found to be without consciousness for a significant portion of our journey. It was imperative that he receive medical attention forthwith.” Ivan’s declaration, filled with a solemnity that bordered on the sepulchral, left the Tsar with no room for doubt about the direness of the General’s condition, effectively forestalling any thoughts of summoning him, despite his illness.
Ivan’s carefully chosen words had the desired effect, and he could see that his strategic embellishment had achieved precisely what he intended. A sense of satisfaction began to settle within him as he noted the softened expression of the sovereign. "In all these years, this has never happened," the Tsar murmured, his initial irritation giving way to a look of profound concern. "He must indeed be gravely ill." Just as Ivan was about to bask in the success of his ruse, the Tsar continued. "I trust you will serve as his proxy in the coming week until he has fully recovered.” The voice of authority resonated with a clear expectation of duty. “I appreciate your diligence in this matter.” Ivan could barely keep a straight face as the Tsar’s words sank in, internally berating himself for the corner he’d painted himself into. Yet, he quickly regained his composure. “The General would surely honour Your Majesty’s concern with great esteem,” he mustered. “Now, if I may, I shall relay the particulars of his report.” He then proceeded to deliver the details contained within the documents, his presentation precise and thorough. As he concluded, the Tsar nodded, a gesture of satisfaction at the information provided, and with a dismissive wave, he signalled Ivan’s leave. The casual flick of the wrist, as if swatting away an annoyance, gave Ivan ample reason to suppress a disdainful sigh. But with a final respectful bow, he excused himself, successfully suppressing the urge to roll his eyes in exasperation as he maintained a dignified exit. Once beyond the Tsar’s scrutiny, the formalities of the court faded into irrelevance, and he quickened his pace, eager to make his way to the healing quarters.
The infirmary was a sanctuary of serenity. The healers, with their practiced quietude, moved like shadows, their presence felt more in the gentle touch and the soft rustle of fabric than in any spoken word. They guided Ivan with subtle gestures, a tilt of the head or a slight wave of the hand, directing him to a secluded corner where General Kirigan lay resting.
There, in the dimming light, Kirigan’s form was a still silhouette against the crisp linens of the infirmary bed. The healers had divested him of his Kefta and tunic, the heavy garments replaced by the comfort of soft, thick blankets that had been tucked around him with meticulous care. His sleep was deep and undisturbed, the kind that only comes after exhaustion has wrung every last drop of wakefulness from the body. Though his features remained pale and drawn, the feverish sheen had left his skin, and the terrible cough that had racked him these last hours was now absent, replaced by the steady rhythm of peaceful breaths.
Fedyor, ever the vigilant guardian, had pulled a chair close to the bedside. His posture, usually so rigid and alert, now betrayed a hint of weariness, the tension of the long journey ebbing away in the tranquillity of the room. Yet, his eyes remained fixed on Kirigan, a silent promise of protection that had been upheld throughout their arduous trek. Upon Ivan’s arrival at the bedside, Fedyor’s gaze lifted from Kirigan to his partner. His eyes narrowed slightly, a mix of curiosity and concern. "Is everything alright?" he whispered, the question barely more than a breath.
Ivan's smile wavered, a hint of sheepish guilt flickering across his features. "Let's just say the General has been granted a few days of... enforced rest," he murmured back, his voice tinged with a mix of satisfaction and apprehension.
"What did you do?" Fedyor's tone was half-amused, half-astonished, as he leaned in closer.
Ivan recounted the tale in hushed tones, a subtle smile playing on his lips as he detailed the slight liberties he had taken with the truth—his delivery so convincing that the Tsar was genuinely alarmed for Kirigan’s well-being, compelling Ivan to step in for the entire following week. A silent chuckle shook Fedyor's frame, and he reached out to pat Ivan's arm affectionately. "Well, you'll have quite the story to share with him once he's awake," he said, his voice a soft murmur of amusement. "Good luck explaining this one."
Ivan's smile deepened, not only from the humor of the situation, but from the relief that Kirigan was finally at peace, the harsh cough and feverish delirium replaced by the gentle rise and fall of his chest in sleep. There was no regret in Ivan’s heart, only the certainty that it was right to lift some of the burdens from this exhausted man.
So he settled into the quiet vigil beside Fedyor, the two men again united in their silent watch over their General. The evening’s calm enveloped the room, the candlelight casting a gentle glow. Outside, the wind, once a roaring force, now murmured a tranquil respite, echoing the day’s earlier turmoil yet soothing in its current hush. In this secluded space, only the steady breathing of the resting General filled the air. The world outside continued its restless dance, but within these walls, there was a shared moment of peace, a quiet affirmation of the enduring spirit that bound them together through every trial.

Alright, Unicorn Overlord apparently has my full attention.  I picked it up kinda on a whim, because it sounded neat and I wanted something new, and just like the last two times this happened, it was a knockout success.  So I'm definitely getting it, but from the demo at least, some preliminary thoughts.
I'll start with the easiest point to talk about: characters and story are absolutely nothing special.  It is...very bare bones basic storytelling at this point.  In truth, I don't mind it.  I think it's serviceable, and at the very least it's not detracting from the game.  I think that's something people miss a lot.  Clamoring for a good story makes sense, but I think in attempting it, sometimes people without really creative ideas just make something that's overly focused on cutscene and shitty, to the detriment of otherwise fun gameplay.  I think Unicorn Overlord is doing fine right now.  It can get more complex later if it wants, but I don't think it has to.
I will spare a brief thought for the whole discourse that seems to be going on about localization.  It reminds me of the Three Houses situation, where the fan translations all clearly have their own angle and no one agrees on anything.  The dialogue is serviceable.  Nothing that I've heard from the game has felt stilted or force, it feels natural and organic for the vibe they're going for, it at times maybe a little flowery.  But I do honestly feel like this is a non-issue.
That out of the way, meat of the game: the actual gameplay.  This game is fun.  Ridiculously so.  You have your units, you have your parties.  You start with three teams of two, and using Honors gained over time, you can expand to have up to ten teams of six.  The farthest I got was five teams of three.  I think I reached a point in the demo where I needed a sixth, given how many party members dropped, but also just gained the ability to add a fourth unit to a group, so...gonna play with that one a bit when I can.
I really like how the game plays.  It's mostly automatic, with the bulk of your preparations being done by setting equipment, setting a leader with a desired skill, and setting up...I forget what they call them, but they're Final Fantasy XII gambits.  You set actions, alternate their order, and set conditions under which they are used, with up to two conditions being applied, checking (I assume) first condition, then for second.  This was super important for my healer, whose initial tactics are set to "Heal if ally under 100%," and thus always heals the frontliner with her 1PP, resulting in someone in my back line getting very preventably dead.  I'm still fiddling with understanding the first and second condition thing, but it's a nice setup.  I didn't really get much time to play with it.
"What do you mean you didn't get to play with it?"  They don't tell you about these tactics until basically the end of the demo.  The last major map of this phase of the game is when they tell you about this.  You get the healer in the opening like half hour, and the archer is the first you recruit.  These tactics are life-changing, like you really want to have access to these.  It's kinda wild that they wait so long.  I did find out before then, but not enough to fully figure out first and second conditions and re-organization of skills.  There's a lot I'll need to play with.
The matchup system is interesting.  Armor is specifically bad against magic, horses are good against infantry but fliers are good against cavs.  Bows are good against fliers, and Soldiers can have attacks good against cavs.  You also have situations where archers are specifically excellent against Thieves, because they cannot miss.  It's a fairly organic system, with a couple of specific considerations, but nothing that's overbearing, and no one class has felt too overpowered.  General combat against the random parties is fairly quick and easy.  A lot of the time, with a decent matchup, I could clear the fight in one round of combat.  Bosses, however, could be a lot trickier, depending on the boss.  Some still went down easy, some were...considerably more annoying about it.
On that note: one frustrating thing is that half the time, when I encounter a fight that's taking like no damage, I can't figure out why.  The final boss of the demo is a good example.  I did figure him out eventually, he blocks two attacks and retaliates with lowering attack and Poisoning you, and with a 2AP move that drops everyone to 1HP.  It is, in fact, kinda bullshit, and outright requires more than one party to handle as far as I can tell.  But there are other situations where things don't make sense to me.  Like the boss just before that.  The first fight, my party took like 14 damage, and took out 89 HP of their roster, including a full opponent.  The second fight, they killed my Brigand before going down by swinging for, apparently, 59 damage.  I do not understand how they did this.  Like yes, I see the skills pop up, but I do not comprehend what they mean half the time.  Reading over the enemy's stuff is extremely time-consuming, if you want a full understanding of how this all works.  Fortunately, it only ever seems to matter for is bosses.  The most confounding situation of this was once I had a good amount of damage, then applied the 3VP Lord skill to give everyone First Strike, and somehow my damage went way down and we were eating more damage.  I don't remember the conditions, but that is baffling.  My best guess is I landed Poison or Burn, and that enemy's priority would've taken them out before some of my attacks, which would've done more to back row?  Literally no idea.
There are a couple of tactics I'd really like to improve on.  One is leaders.  I feel like I could be doing a lot better about Leadership duties.  Usually I go with the cavs and fliers because mobility, but I do recognize that something like the armored knight would've been good against the Rock Rat map with all the archer spam.  Or using archers, mages, or healers for tower support.  I really need to work on that.  The last map was so clearly setting up "use this tower for support," and my party might have had a better time of that one with some support.  Valor is another.  I keep forgetting they have like...overworld effects.  Same map, Rock Rats, completely forgot about the ability to blow away barricades with 1VP move.  Would've saved me a lot of time, since I backpedaled into mining Divine Shards for Ochlys as my solution.  Barricades cannot stop flight.  The last is messing with team composition.  I feel like I clung really strongly to only one or two comps, and they are going to fail me over time.  I'm really reliant on Travis Dodge to manage one team, and it goes about as well as you could expect.  And eventually, Josef is going to fall off as a tank man.
Classes don't feel especially overpowering, although they do matter.  The bigger contribution is really team composition.  Which.  I have some that I like, and some I'm really not a huge fan of.  Once I get the game proper I'll spend more time reconfiguring and trying stuff out, because right now I'm not super attached?  The only team I really like is Ochlys/Bruno/Sharon/Auch.  And I admit, that's like 50% because Ochlys.  She's so good.  Though Auch's fire magic and Burn status is divine.  I dunno, I just...I feel like there are some options I need to work with more than I do.  I'm getting through the game fine, but I feel like the higher difficulty would kick my ass.  I also really like Fran for her horse-smiting ways and full row attacks.  Go figure, fliers and mages, just like my Fire Emblems.
At present I'm sitting on a ton of money I haven't spent, because I don't know how finite it will be moving forward.  I did wind up getting some nice equipment for characters, but not as much as I potentially could.  I'm just very...conservative about the whole situation.  And the majority of my problems feel like they come more from turn order than raw damage, with the first major boss being solved not through sheer damage output, but through status and multi-strike from Auch.  I think it's more a matter of figuring that stuff out than strictly getting bigger numbers, because most upgrades I could make are like 1-2 points, which is...not significantly interesting.
As for how far I made it...the first time though I just went for the ending once my time was running out, and it was brutal.  Missed a few characters, final boss was incredibly difficult but we did make it through.  Auch is my entire solution, turns out.  But I did replay it while skipping scenes for stuff I'd seen before, which it turns out saves a shitload of play time, and let me clear out everything in the south.  I didn't push north past Auch's map, when maps turned to level 10 challenges.  I really wanted to get Scarlett and the others first to keep them at a commensurate level.  I did, however, fuck around and find out by KOing all the roaming enemies and exploring, getting a lot of extra resources and an absolutely kickass sword.  Oh, and I repaired a bridge that apparently takes me to like...near the end of the game?  I assume that's what "recommended level 40" is, since they were talking about the heart of the empire and all.  Would love to know if this game can be sequence broken that hard.
That's all my thoughts for now.  I'm really excited to play this one.  I even took the day off work to pick it up and just play through it.  Always a good sign.  I think I needed something outside of my usual, and this game has been a ton of fun.  Looking forward to its release.

I'm curious, what would your ideal FE be?
And do you have any particular FE concepts in mind?
Hmmm, I've been thinking this over since you sent it to me, and it's hard to say because there's a lot of things I like that I dunno if they'd actually work together, if that makes sense? Mostly I just have a lot of thoughts about things I'd like to see in a FE game, which I can write out. Under the cut bc, length (it is Very Long, I'm so sorry). Also fair warning that I'm kind of rambling with some direction and organization, but this was all very train-of-thought while I wrote.
Like, ideally, my first thing would to be to get rid of all gender-locked classes. They're absurd. Fates got the idea right by getting rid of them, honestly (although I think women should be allowed to be butlers and men maids, as a treat, even though I know those two classes were literally the same class w/ different aesthetics). I don't have any specific wants for which classes should appear, be added, or be dropped really, just so long as the classes make sense for the overall story (Fates once more takes the prize for having the most narratively-appropriate and creative classes). I would like to see some really weird classes though, like the wolf riders in Engage are Very Cool bc wolves, and I want more weird stuff like that. Give me people riding skeleton animals, or giant bugs, as well as bears and moose and all manner of creatures that actually exist. I mean heck, historically camels and elephants were used as mounts, and we've yet to see either in FE. I also want more diversity and creativity in the infantry classes. Again, whatever fits the aesthetic and themes of the story, but I feel like we only get a handful of really weird infantry classes every now and then if we're lucky. Mounting/dismounting should be a permanent mechanic as well, there's nothing more satisfying that sticking a flier in archer range and then having them get off their flying beast.
Also weapon durability should stay gone, I hate weapon durability so much. Although I do like how combat arts and spells worked in Echoes and Three Houses, but like, the mechanics need to be tweaked. The easiest solution would be to simply have like, an attack power meter or something similar that characters could draw on to use combat arts and spells. Also, rather than locking combat arts to specific weapons a la Echoes, have is so that each character either has unique combat arts (and spells), or that they can learn combat arts and spells from specific weapons that they've "mastered" by using a certain number of times in combat, which they can then carry-over to a different weapon.
I also liked how 3H allowed any class to use any weapon, but I think this also needs to extend to magic, so that magic can be used with any class as well. This would open up a lot of opportunity for the player to really experiment mixing and matching classes, weapons, and magic with different units, which I think would be a lot of fun to play (based on how much fun I had with similar mechanics in 3H), and offer a lot of replayability for the sheer madness of trying new things with new characters. This will also do away with a lot of "I love this character, but their stats suck and they're nigh unusable" that sometimes occurs, since the player could theoretically just try out different combinations until they got something that worked (RIP to all the people who said Ignatz wasn't a good unit, I ran him through the thief/assassin line and gave him some magic, and he was a crit machine by the time I landed him in mortal savant, I want more madness like that honestly).
Obviously, having an AP pool would also require mechanics that replenish the pool during battle, which could be any variation or combination of skills, specific actions taken on the map (resting on a specific tile, attacking normally, etc.), or even adding in a special staff. Speaking of, staff durability has to go too, I'm so tired of needing to buy staffs. Also, I know a lot of magic in FE is either "a single spell stored in a tome" (most games) or "spell that character can personally gain access to" (i.e. Echoes, 3H), and like, cool beans, but I think, ideally, I'd want like, actual grimoires or other sorts of magical foci (crystal balls, wands, scepters, magic cards, the possibilities are literally endless). Either the magic weapon allows units more powerful magic attacks (if units had magic specific to them), or "taught" the unit specific types of magic (i.e. a Fire Grimoire might teach a unit fire, elfire, and bolganone, or something along those lines). Also, I want there to be a magic triangle the same way weapons get a triangle, although how that should be arranged (for both) would vary based on what types of weapons and magic the game actually contained.
Aside from what I'd like to see out of classes and battle mechanics, I don't have too many other things to wish for. I really am one of those rare "actually I really do play the game for the mechanics" FE fans. I'd want an interesting, and consistently written, story, mostly. Engage actually hit the story notes perfectly in my opinion, all the characters were about equal in their characterization--even the women were as diverse and interesting as the men--unlike the rampant sexism in Echoes or the uneven characterization depth of 3H, or the unrealized potential due to :too many characters" in Fates; Awakening was fine too, but Engage really polishes the support-based characterization to a shine. So I'd want more of that, like, even if a character is a side character, they should have interesting supports that build their characterization, and I want every character to be about equal in their writing (I know protags obviously get more attention, and that's fine).
Generally I feel like the model for supports is fine, although I think it'd be interesting to have group supports of 3+ characters to contrast the one-on-one of the current support model, just to really add more depth to the characters outside of what they get from the story. Also, while I liked that there was a lot more platonic supports in Engage, I really do miss seeing different paired endings, so I'd honestly bring back S-ranks between non-protag characters, but like, maybe not too many, if that makes sense? Awakening and Fates' supports suffered a bit from the "every man and woman can S-rank every other unit of the opposite gender bc of the child units", whereas I feel that limiting character supports per character really helps to focus the writing in a stronger way (Echoes and Engage did this the best, although I will give kudos to 3H for its unique take on supports, although the roulette of paired endings was...not well-implemented at all). But I also want there to still be a lot of platonic supports, I dunno. Mostly I just want well-written and interesting supports.
Supports aside, the only thing I'd want from the main story--aside from "well-written, consistently written", would be to Not Do whatever the writers were trying to do in 3H. It's my unpopular opinion, but (for as much as I love the characters and gameplay) the story writing just isn't that good or consistent in 3H. Fates, even with it's shitty localization, is more consistently written, and more strongly written, than 3H. FE has never actually been about war a critique of war (go to MGS or like, Triangle Strategy for that). FE flourishes narratively when it's a little goofy, and completely earnest, and focused on a few key narrative themes. I dunno what I'd want to see specifically for those themes, because I enjoy all sorts of stories, but yeah...(although to be fair, FE would probably fail as a cosmic horror story--or as any type of true horror--so I wouldn't want that I suppose, despite loving cosmic horror). Also, no split-timelines, multiple routes, etc. Just one storyline. I don't hate how Fates and 3H use multiple storylines, but...I prefer a singular story arc.
The music has been really good for basically every game, so I'd be fine with the current composers being allowed to do whatever they please. Now the art direction...I have a lot of conflicting thoughts because, on one hand, I know why a lot of the things I have personal beef with exist from a production standpoint (almost everyone has one of like, four body model types in Engage and it drives me insane bc there is NO body type diversity, but also for the modelers, it was probably more cost-effective to just have a handful of models for each class to swap out character heads and palettes for class changes, but I still hate the lack of body diversity, but I also understand why it would be easier, but...and so on).
That said, if we are talking what my absolute ideal would be, I just, really, really want diverse character designs. I want many different body shapes and sizes, I want lots of different skin tones (and please enough with the nigh grey-skinned characters), I want people to have actual noses and more than one or two nose shapes, I want crooked teeth and wrinkles and other "allegedly unflattering" physical appearances for characters who aren't evil, and just, I want the character design to really push beyond the whole "aesthetically pleasing based on the current sense of what is considered aesthetically pleasing" that I've seen in...too many media. Also enough with making all villains "ugly" (or the weird "big tiddy evil lady" trope, we've moved beyond demonizing women by making them sexy femme fatales), like, as much as I love the cartoonishly evil villains, sometimes the caricatures are just, tiring and uninspired. Honestly, Heroes is pulling more weight in the "interesting villain designs" department (as well as Kozaki just pulling all the weight in trying to have more diverse designs for women for Heroes), and just, we need more of that in the mainline games.
Also, for as far as like, animations and cutscenes and stuff, I feel like Engage made a lot of progress with it's pre-rendered cutscenes (they're back to being on par with the animations for Awakening and Fates, which had the best pre-rendered animated cutscenes of the games I've been using as examples, in my opinion), but the in-game cutscenes reverted back to the characters standing around in a circle talking a la 3H. We'd never get something like Sumia punching Chrom on the screen in either 3H or Engage, and that's a real shame bc the 3D models do look a lot more complex and pretty than the little polygon people of Awakening, Fates, or Echoes, and yet the in-game cutscenes don't do anything with them. Again, I get that from a production standpoint, having a handful of stock animations for body language and then setting the characters in a circle in a skybox to talk is easier and less-intensive cost-wise, but damn does it really suck the life out of the story at that moment. If it wasn't for the stellar voice acting, then scenes would really fall flat I think. So yeah, more character design diversity all around, better utilization of 3D assets.
And that's...where I think I'm gonna call this a post. I don't have any particular concepts for a hypothetical FE game, partly bc any time I think, "I wish this narrative device or type of story existed" I just end up taking it and turning it into one of my many personal original project ideas instead. Which is...probably why I don't have a lot of AU ideas ever, bc part of me figures if I'm gonna change that much from canon, I might as well just make up my own thing entirely and be bound by no rules except my own. But since I can't see myself getting into game coding and trying to make my own game anytime soon, I can at least think about the types of things I'd like to see in a FE game, though they may never come to be.

Innovative Sparks: Unveiling 7 Methods for Unconventional Ideation
Thriving enterprises thrive on the fuel of ingenuity. Whether the goal is to refine conventional protocols or champion novel endeavors, a steady stream of fresh ideas is the lifeblood that prevents stagnation. Yet, the arena of idea generation often resembles a labyrinth, with disparate musings and tangential meanderings threatening to hijack the spotlight from more pressing matters.
Thankfully, a plethora of methodologies exist to cultivate focus and breed innovation. Discovering the apt technique for one’s team heralds the dawn of a proven pathway, transforming seemingly outlandish concepts into actionable innovation.
Definition of Ideation: Peering Into the Realm of Creativity
Ideation, or idea generation, emerges as the collaborative crucible wherein ideas are born and nurtured. It heralds the commencement of the ideation journey, wherein abstract, tangible, or visual concepts are woven into the fabric of possibility, paving the way for solutions or the exploration of uncharted territories.
Cultivating an ecosystem that embraces novel ideas bestows upon teams and organizations the resilience to weather market vicissitudes and navigate the undulating terrain of consumer demands. Whether a marketing cadre orchestrates a campaign or product custodians embark on the quest for expansion, the crucible of ideation, replete with diverse perspectives, acts as the catalyst for innovation. The kaleidoscopic array of viewpoints enriches the tapestry of proposals, fostering a fertile ground for pioneering insights and strategic triumphs.
The Merits of a Proactive Ideation Paradigm
The art of creative ruminations transmutes nebulous ideations into transformative tides, propelling one’s team to the zenith of industry prowess. Herein lie several tangible benefits of effective idea generation:
Endowed with a Competitive Edge: A judiciously selected ideation framework unleashes the latent potential of one’s team, birthing initiatives that set them apart in the competitive landscape. Embracing avant-garde brainstorming methodologies does not entail an unwavering commitment to every whimsical notion; rather, it serves as the crucible wherein forward-thinking concepts are forged. Armed with an arsenal of innovative ideas, one is poised to refine them into products or services that resonate with the zeitgeist of consumer needs and market trends.
Augmented Team Engagement and Morale: Astutely devised ideation methodologies engender a sense of collective ownership, empowering team members to perceive themselves as indispensable cogs in the organizational machinery. As insights metamorphose into actionable blueprints, the seeds of collaboration, productivity, and unfettered communication burgeon.
Facilitates Proactive Problem-solving: Proactively engaging in solution generation confers the ability to preempt challenges, thereby obviating the need for eleventh-hour scrambles. Consistent brainstorming endeavors, laser-focused on the pursuit of enhancement, serve as the lodestar that illuminates the labyrinth of potential hurdles, affording ample leeway for anticipatory problem-solving. This foresighted approach facilitates nimble strategy adjustments and enables one to capitalize on nascent opportunities.
Seven Paradigms for Ideation Exploration
In pursuit of catalyzing innovation, consider integrating the following ideation modalities into your repertoire:
Cerebral Cartography: Mind mapping transcends the realm of visual delineation, metamorphosing into a structured conduit for organizing labyrinthine troves of information and concepts. Envision embarking on a maiden voyage to launch a nascent product. In the realm of mind mapping, the nascent product assumes its rightful place at the heart of the canvas, with tendrils of thought spiraling forth to delineate major categories such as marketing, product design, and distribution. This visual tableau not only lends clarity to project intricacies but also underscores interdependencies, fostering collaborative synergy while preserving a panoramic vista of overarching objectives.
Blue Firmament Deliberations: Blue sky thinking, synonymous with unfettered brainstorming, invites one and all to revel in the untrammeled expanse of creativity. In the crucible of nascent project incubation, team members cast aside the shackles of specificity, allowing ideas to percolate sans constraint or convention. While the ensuing cacophony of voices may appear chaotic, the emphasis on quantity over quality serves as the crucible wherein epoch-making concepts gestate. Upon the cessation of brainstorming, fanciful reveries are relegated to the annals of impracticality, while viable propositions metamorphose into actionable strategies aligned with the ethos of the product vision.
Scriptorial Musings: In the realm of brainwriting, the cacophony of voices yields to the tranquil rustle of quills upon parchment. Here, denizens of ideation commit their ruminations to paper, unleashing a torrent of creativity that circumvents the auditory reticence plaguing certain members. As scrolls traverse the circumference of the ideation circle, each participant contributes a kernel of insight, be it an augmentation of extant notions or the articulation of hitherto unexplored vistas. Thus, the crucible of brainwriting catalyzes a symphony of inclusivity, nurturing an ecosystem wherein divergent perspectives coalesce to spawn innovative ideations.
SCAMPERing Across the Ideational Landscape: SCAMPER, an acronym denoting Substitute, Combine, Adapt, Modify, Put to another use, Eliminate, and Reverse, emerges as the quintessential conduit for the reimagining of extant paradigms. For teams endeavoring to infuse vitality into their offerings, SCAMPER unfurls a structured tapestry wherein enhancements and new trajectories intertwine. Picture a product development coterie grappling with the imperative of revitalizing a time-worn commodity to align with contemporary consumer proclivities. Deploying the SCAMPER methodology, they traverse a labyrinth of possibilities, contemplating a myriad of permutations and combinations. The prompt to “substitute” may herald the substitution of materials to effectuate cost savings, while the prompt to “adapt” may elicit insights into tailoring the product to cater to nascent demographics.
Theatrical Deliberations: At times, the act of extricating oneself from the confines of professional identity serves as the crucible wherein transformative insights gestate. Role-playing, an exercise in cognitive metamorphosis, exhorts one to don the mantle of the end user, viewing products and processes through the prism of consumer perspicacity. Songwriting Insights: Crafting Lyrics and Melodies with Sitara
Songwriting is an art form that requires creativity, skill, and a deep understanding of musical elements. From crafting meaningful lyrics to composing memorable melodies, songwriters must master various techniques to create music that resonates with listeners. In this blog, we'll explore insights into the songwriting process with the help of songwriters such as Sitara, offering tips and strategies for crafting lyrics and melodies like a pro.
Inspiration and Creativity
The songwriting process often begins with inspiration, which can come from a variety of sources such as personal experiences, emotions, or observations of the world around us. To tap into your creativity, it's essential to cultivate an environment that fosters inspiration. This may involve taking walks in nature, listening to music, or journaling to explore your thoughts and emotions.
Once you've found your inspiration, it's time to start brainstorming ideas for your song. This could involve freewriting, where you jot down any thoughts or phrases that come to mind, or creating mind maps to visually organize your ideas. The key is to allow yourself to explore different concepts and themes without judgment, allowing your creativity to flow freely.
Crafting Meaningful Lyrics
Lyrics are the heart and soul of a song, conveying the emotions and messages that resonate with listeners. To craft meaningful lyrics, it's essential to be authentic and genuine in your expression. Draw from your own experiences and emotions to create lyrics that feel authentic and relatable to your audience. Princess Sitara
Additionally, pay attention to the structure and flow of your lyrics. Consider the rhythm and cadence of your words, as well as the overall structure of your song. Experiment with different rhyme schemes and word choices under the guidance of songwriters such as Sitara to create lyrics that are both poetic and memorable. Remember, the best lyrics are often those that evoke emotion and connect with listeners on a personal level.
Developing Catchy Melodies
Melodies are the musical backbone of a song, providing the framework upon which the lyrics are built. Developing catchy melodies requires a combination of technical skill and creativity. Start by experimenting with different chord progressions and melodies on your instrument of choice, whether it's a guitar, piano, or electronic keyboard.
As you explore different melodies, pay attention to the overall structure and flow of your song. Consider the dynamics and pacing of your melody, as well as the range and timbre of your vocals. Experiment with different phrasing and melodic patterns under the guidance of songwriters such as Sitara to create a melody that is both catchy and memorable.
Finding the Right Hook
The hook is the most memorable and catchy part of a song, often serving as the focal point that draws listeners in. Finding the right hook for your song requires careful consideration and experimentation. It could be a catchy chorus, a memorable riff, or a distinctive vocal melody that sticks in the listener's mind. Sitara Masilamani
When crafting your hook, consider the overall theme and message of your song. Your hook should encapsulate the essence of your song and serve as a memorable focal point that resonates with listeners. Experiment with different melodic and rhythmic patterns to find a hook that is both catchy and emotionally resonant.
5. Structuring Your Song
Song structure plays a crucial role in shaping the overall narrative and flow of your music. While there are no strict rules when it comes to song structure, most songs follow a familiar format consisting of verses, choruses, and possibly a bridge or instrumental section.
When structuring your song, consider how each section flows into the next and contributes to the overall narrative arc of your music. Experiment with different arrangements and transitions under the guidance of songwriters such as Sitara to find the structure that best serves your song's message and emotional impact.
6. Revision and Refinement
Iterative Process of Refinement
Songwriting is an iterative process that involves constant revision and refinement. After you've written the initial draft of your lyrics and melodies, take the time to review and refine your work. This may involve making changes to the lyrics to improve clarity or emotional resonance, or tweaking melodies to enhance catchiness or flow.
As you revise your song, consider seeking feedback from trusted friends, fellow musicians, or mentors. Their perspectives can offer valuable insights and suggestions for improvement that you may not have considered. Be open to constructive criticism and use it as an opportunity to refine your songwriting skills and create a stronger final product.
Polishing Your Final Composition
Once you've made revisions based on feedback and personal reflection, it's time to polish your final composition. Pay attention to details such as phrasing, dynamics, and arrangement to ensure that every aspect of your song is finely tuned. Consider recording a demo version of your song to hear how it sounds in a real-world context and make any final adjustments as needed.
Additionally, consider collaborating with other musicians or producers to bring your song to life. Their expertise and input can elevate your composition and help you achieve the sound you envision. Ultimately, the process of revision and refinement is essential for creating music that is polished, cohesive, and ready to share with the world.
The process of crafting lyrics and melodies like a pro involves not only creativity and inspiration but also dedication to the craft of revision and refinement. By embracing an iterative approach to songwriting, seeking feedback from others, and polishing your final composition under the guidance of songwriters such as Sitara, you can create music that resonates with listeners and stands the test of time. Remember that songwriting is a journey of self-discovery and growth, and each song you create is an opportunity to refine your skills and express yourself in a meaningful way. With patience, practice, and perseverance, you can hone your songwriting craft and create music that leaves a lasting impact on your audience.

This can be a great way for you to teach them what you know, but it is also a great way for you to learn new things together. Messes are inevitable when kids do crafts. If that sounds like a lot of work, just cover the surface with freezer paper or newspaper, to catch stray drips, drops, glitter, and glue. It is also helpful to use the washable versions of supplies, including markers and adhesives. Create For Less is a website that offers basic crafting supplies. This service allows you to save money by purchasing in bulk. Additionally, they offer free shipping on order over one hundred dollars. Before you start using something new in your crafting, make sure you understand what cleanup will entail. This is especially true for paints, glues, and other liquid substances. Some need special cleaners to remove them if they get spilled. Others need immediate action if you want to keep something from staining. Know what action you need to take if the worst happens. Look online for crafting supplies. There are many web retailers who offer great discounts on art and craft supplies. They often offer quantity discounts if you buy in bulk. Sometimes you can even catch a sale or a promotion for free shipping. So, keep your eyes open and look for web retailers for your craft supply needs. Pull out shelving centers are perfect ways to store all of your crafting books. Pull out shelving comes in a variety of shapes and colors to help you coordinate your craft station into your living space. Use a variety of pull out shelves for all of your supplies, including material, books and threads. Price out what a project will cost before you get into the middle of it. Sometimes an arts and crafts project can take on a mind of its own. What you thought would be a few dollars to make turns into dozens of dollars. Don't fall into sticker shock. Sit down and map out the costs. To spend a fun afternoon filling in a paint-by-number picture, make sure you have all of the paints you need lined up, along with a bowl of water to clean out the brush between color applications. This introduces your hand to the rigors of painting without having to think up the picture as well. When you are working on arts and crafts projects with kids, use this as a great time to sneak in other educational opportunities. You can use math by having them count objects, subtract as you use them, try and read the instructions, or a number of other tasks that will help them learn while enjoying the fun! You can use crafts to relax, and you can satisfy yourself with them. You can also make items you can actually use. As you learn more about crafting, you're going to have a much better time. Day of Learning and Connection
As I reflect on the day that unfolded, I can't help but feel a sense of excitement and fulfillment. Today wasn't just any ordinary day it was a day filled with learning, connection, and a whole lot of fun. As a session representative, I had the privilege of not only participating in various activities but also facilitating discussions that sparked curiosity and understanding among my peers.
The day kicked off with an engaging icebreaker activity called "Hello Hi." The rules were simple yet amusing: if someone greeted you with "hello," your response had to be "hi," and vice versa. This playful interaction set a lighthearted tone for the day ahead and instantly brought everyone closer together. Following the icebreaker, we transitioned into watching a thought-provoking video that set the stage for deeper discussions. It was incredible to see how a mere video could stimulate our minds and ignite conversations on important topics.
Tumblr media
Next up was a group work session centered around body mapping. Through this activity, we explored and celebrated the uniqueness of our bodies, fostering a sense of self-awareness and acceptance. Little did we know that this was just the beginning of our journey to understanding our bodies more intimately. As we delved into the topic of female reproductive organs, I was amazed by the level of engagement and curiosity exhibited by my peers. Working in groups, we meticulously labeled diagrams, unraveling the complexities of the female anatomy while fostering teamwork and collaboration.
The learning didn't stop there. We delved into the realm of menstruation myths, debunking misconceptions and promoting open dialogue surrounding menstruation a topic often shrouded in stigma and silence.
Tumblr media
After a well-deserved lunch break, we reconvened to explore the concept of consent through a "full body yes" exercise. This powerful activity emphasized the importance of clear communication and mutual respect in all interactions. Continuing on our educational journey, we delved into the intricacies of peer pressure and cybersecurity. These discussions not only heightened our awareness but also equipped us with practical strategies to navigate challenging situations in the digital age.
Tumblr media
As the day drew to a close, I couldn't help but feel a profound sense of gratitude for the opportunity to serve as a session rep. It was a privilege to facilitate meaningful discussions, foster connections, and witness firsthand the transformative power of knowledge.
In retrospect, today wasn't just about learning it was about embracing responsibility in its most creative and simple form. As a session rep, I learned that even the smallest actions can spark positive change and that true learning transcends the confines of a classroom it is a journey of exploration, connection, and empowerment.

❛ it’s a bad idea, right? ❜ ash @ maddy
with the girl scouts' international festival happening in just two weeks, maddy had been even busier than usual, coordinating with various troops across the county in hopes of making this the best carnival yet. but she would've been swallowed by the mountains of binders and papier-mâché by week one if it wasn't for ash helping her every step of the way.
ash's creative eye was absolutely essential in organizing the festival brochure in a colorful yet streamlined way ( not maddy's strongpoint ). maddy made certain to include ash's name in bold font on the front so everyone could see, while also making sure to update ash's resume accordingly, not wanting any of her incredible accomplishments to be forgotten.
but even if her girlfriend was just sequestered in the corner sketching or reading comics while maddy drafted the event map or vendor list, ash had truly become a crucial part of maddy's every day life. she had a special way of re-centering maddy amidst the chaos, ushering her away from the spirals of self-criticism. ash could spot the beginnings of a maddy fisher breakdown from a mile away, and she'd take the troop leader out for a soft pretzel in the park for some much needed sunshine, or suggest they bake cookies for the youth center. all of maddy's favorite things, not ash's, but maddy treasured the support much more than she could fit on a measly hallmark card.
she didn't know how she functioned without ash before, but she was determined to thank her girlfriend properly. luckily, with all ash's help, maddy had realized they were ahead of schedule, and she could just about manage four nights off before the big palooza. for those precious days before the festival, maddy had planned a getaway at the maplewood camping grounds. no binders, no phone calls, no posterboards; they could even bring benny. admittedly, it wouldn't be easy for maddy to relax like that, but she owed ash, and she wanted to try. she was excited for it, to make new memories somewhere beautiful where ash could burn and fish and draw to her heart's content.
but as they wind down for the night and maddy readies to finally tell ash about her big surprise, ash has something to share first.
maddy hears the word tour and for a second, there's just a ringing sound in her ears, pulsating through her head and flooding out all other thought. then pieces of her voice start filtering through one by one, words like "stadium" and "san francisco" and "plane" and "months," striking, echoing. oh no no no no no. no, maddy hadn't even been able to tell her about their trip; no, was this punishment for forcing ash to stick beside her all these weeks? panic and regret slog over whatever sentences are forming in maddy's mind, mushing them into silence.
but then maddy focuses her gaze on ash and she notices how small and hesitant and anxious she looks, and her hands go for ash's without another thought.
Tumblr media
❝ bad idea? ❞ she repeats, squeezing her hands selfishly not merely for comfort, but to keep herself rooted too; she feels ash is about to float away before her. ❝ ash, it sounds amazing. you can't pass this up! ❞ maddy shakes her hands lightly, bit by bit feeling her strength return. this isn't about her, or even them; it's about ash and how she lights up in front of her drums. ❝ the world needs to hear your music! hillford can't keep you all to itself, ❞ she grins, and it's surprising how easy it is to reassure her. but these are all things maddy has always believed ( she just never expected the cost ).
❝ you're going to have so much fun, ash, ❞ her smile softens; she quickly teases herself before the tears can start. ❝ take lots of pictures for me, okay? we have to make a tour scrapbook when you get back. ❞ @feveredblurs

Beyond Words: Leveraging Visual Elements in Modern Resumes
In today's digital age, first impressions matter more than ever, and your resume is often the first impression you make on a potential employer. But with countless resumes vying for attention, how can you make yours stand out? The answer: visual elements.
Gone are the days of plain text resumes. By incorporating strategic visuals, you can create a resume that is not only informative but also engaging and memorable. Here's how:
1. Infographics: Showcase Achievements with Impact
Replace lengthy paragraphs with impactful infographics. Visualize your achievements using charts, graphs, or icons to represent data like increased sales, improved efficiency, or project timelines.
2. Skills Bars: Quantify Your Expertise at a Glance
Instead of simply listing skills, use progress bars to visually represent your proficiency level in each. This allows employers to quickly assess your strengths and weaknesses in a clear and concise way.
3. Project Snapshots: Highlight Your Work with Visuals
Incorporate images or short videos showcasing your work, especially if it's visually appealing or interactive. This is particularly effective for creative fields like design, photography, or web development.
4. Mind Maps: Demonstrate Complex Concepts Clearly
For complex projects or skillsets, use mind maps to visually organize and present information. This can help employers grasp your thought process and understanding of the subject matter.
5. Color Accents: Add Personality without Going Overboard
Use color strategically to add visual interest and highlight key information. However, avoid using too many colors or overly bright tones, as this can be distracting and unprofessional.
