#i tried combining watercolor textures with chromic abberation and i think it turned out well!!!! very proud of this #normally i try to color and shade with a different brush so it contrasts a little with my lineart. but in this case it kinda #feels more.. put together?? like smth youd see on a print comic book i think..#i havent drawn this guy in so long.. i dont think he even has much going on hes just fun to draw #campfire monster who cooks your smores and eggs in exchange for sticks and coal ^_^#my art #myart #illustration #my oc #oc #rover #eye strain #eyestrain #bright colors #monsters

shout out to cattails and cattails wildwood story i haven’t been able to get my hands on wildwood yet but i’ve been watching others play it and it looks great <<33 plus it got me back into cattails itself lol, so i drew arthur and my character :]]

this is bat (me when i name another self insert character bat) she uses all pronouns and founded the bay colony! they joined the mountain domain originally and married arthur <<33

anyways arthur <<33 i need to redesign their kids soon, especially cause i’m going to play as one of them when i get wildwood, but these two are good enough. super fucking proud of how arthur came out btw, i had a lot of fun with his face. he used he/they to me,,, littol weirdo (he could kill me i think)

[TRF] Farewells

- - - - - - - - - - - - Extract from a RP with @ampreh - - - - - - - - - - - -

"The album opened with an old photograph that had perhaps not always been protected from light, or from careless handling by fingers, or even from the ambient air conditions. Although yellowed, the image was still relatively legible, as if the thumb holding it in the hand had been resting in one and the same place for many years.

Obviously, the photo album had not always been there to offer the little picture a protection.

"I remember… I started asking to keep the photos myself at that time, because I liked to collect and store them. Maybe I was beginning to understand that they would become souvenirs, so… I did well. You see, I can hardly reach his back. I was reaching there at first," the Once-ler explained, placing his finger just under the animal's mouth.

The photo could only elicit a small, tenderized laugh from Coal, who then raised her index finger to place it in front of her lips, pinched into a cute smile. Besides the fact that the Once-ler had the luxury of being photographed already at such a young age unlike her, it was adorable to see the little one's round and adorable little face, a little boss who stood no less officially to pose in front of the camera.

"How old are you in this picture? You've grown up a lot since the beginning…!", the young woman answered, looking at the man who had become even taller today out of the corner of her eyes.

The young man took the time to look at the photograph for a long time before answering, a slight smile on his lips. It reminded him of simpler, happier times, when his only concern and his only hurry in the morning when he got up was to grab a bushel of grain and run to feed his mule before he decided to grumble for the rest of the day. Sometimes he did it anyway, even when he had hurried so much that he stumbled on the way. That was just the way it was. That was Melvin.

"Nine years old," he finally answered. "I didn't see the inches go by… one day I woke up and just realised I was his size. So he seemed smaller and smaller to me as the years went by; but never more vicious. He was always a brave beast, even when I was barely big enough to hold his tether."

Coal leaned in a little more to better admire the photo, as if hearing the Once-ler's stories was enough to make her nostalgic for an era she'd never lived through. She leaned her head against his shoulder.

"He seemed like a brave beast…! Don't… be too sad if he feels the need to make his way after all this time. You said it yourself: you have grown up. And interests change…"

The Once-ler thought about these words for a long time, then finally sighed and closed his eyes.

"I suppose you're right. I don't have as much time for him as I used to, nor do I have a reason to work or travel with him… but I still feel like I failed him. It makes me sick…"

He looked up at Coal with a sad, resigned look in his eyes.

"But then… I guess there's nothing we can do about it now."

With that, the young man turned the page."
