Really weird how fandoms tend to HC/portray non-binary amabs (and men/transmascs in general) almost exclusively as GNC or fem-presenting…like DGMW that is a real and valid form of self expression but it’s not the Only type of non-binary expression that exists. and honestly…**dare I say that most fandom/queer spaces just need to realize that queer masculinity exists and it doesn’t always have to be a matter of breaking gender norms??

✯ more headcanon complaints (see disclaimer above ⇧) but I promise to switch it up soon. anyways every time somebody on this lil website says something along the lines of “Jack can’t handle/doesn’t like [insert violence, scary or adult-oriented thing], he prefers [soft or blatantly childlike things]” I shrivel inward like a dead spider. honestly all I see of majority jack headcanons are ones that set him back to just being a child or otherwise being treated like one. for example, the one about him being able to shapeshift is pretty cool...until it just becomes about him deciding to age regress, yknow, to an age set he canonically chose not to go through, showed no desire to be in, and is more offended than anything to be considered as such. all of his interests have to be some shit like bluey or animal crossing, and he drinks apple juice from a sippy cup instead of beer. BARF.

I’ve lessened on my keyboard warring over babyjack in the past year but I have not lessened in being a hater. and I’ve said this before, but the baby-jack au already breached headcanon containment a long time ago when it’s not only so widespread that ppl take it for canon and it makes having any intelligent conversation about him nearly fucking Impossible, but it also lead to harassment and accusations of being a fucking predator, to anyone who dared find a whole grown man attractive. any potential jack ship, like jackharper? automatic grooming case to them. it’s like the fandom is just so dead set on this idea that jack really truly is a child in every aspect you can think of, and for what? if it’s just a headcanon, something you know is not part of the actual show, then don’t go Travis the Chimp levels of apeshit when you see him being treated like he is canonically 💀

unpopular opinion numero 3 which is slightly connected to 2:

✯ baby-jack and a handful of the domestic au’s are BORING (see disclaimer again ⇧), not just on a surface level to my suiting, but also because I feel like it just ..misses the point of the show?

the ragtag untraditional found family is now as nuclear and traditional as the Atomic Age. Dean and Cas are the most heteronormative “who wears the pants in the relationship” gay couple ever, Sam is demoted to the uncle that gets written out of his own family, Jack is just there to make his gay dads look cute and emphasize that they’re a gay family (while still being very heteronormative), and at least 5 of them could be found in a California gated community. everything that made any of them unique or defined their personalities is just scrubbed off, even for an AU.

so much of the later seasons focus on Sam and Dean realizing that they don’t have to make a hard splitting decision between the lives they want to live; that they can find a balance; be happy and have good things—namely families—without giving up hunting (and vice versa, that they can have hunting without giving up on family or happiness). everybody loves the gay hunters from S10(?12?) and what they represented for Dean, but I almost never see that be put into practice in the fandom.

THEY’RE ALREADY DOMESTIC!!! AND WITH THAT PERFECT BALANCE!!!! Season 13 quite literally gave Team Free Will a surrogate son to raise and established them as a family; highly untraditional, largely dysfunctional, overall not fitting of a family family, and yet they are a family still. Dean wears an apron and cooks and bakes for everyone; he built himself a man cave and established two separate family night events that they all ritually keep up; Sam has a morning jogging routine and visits his girlfriend every so often; Jack was taught how to drive, has normal chores like washing dishes, and gets groceries. And they didn’t just have that while fighting monsters—they had that while fighting a whole fucking archangel. Even if it did go down the gutter by the end, they still had it: domestic familial bliss and violent messy hunting without having to trade one for the other.

✯ I truly genuinely think Jack’s relationship with Dean is the best, most interesting and most misunderstood out of the three, and I also think that the problems with his relationship to Cas and Sam are hugely overlooked by the fandom—granted they are very small, especially if you’re comparing it to Dean, but they’re still there and I think we should bully Cas and Sam about it more. I shan’t elaborate because it’s 5AM and this was an impulsive add-on ❤️

Me and y/n started dating about 6 months ago when we moved to New York together after the ghostface attacks and, Y/n has been kind of stressed out lately, so I thought it would be nice to give her a little picnic date, she's not really the most outgoing person, so small, quiet, calm dates are more her style.

"Close your eyes babe, I don't want you to see it yet"

"Okay, what is 'it' anyways?"

"I can't tell youuuu" I said with a grin on my face

I finished setting up the area, we were on the sand of a beach, the sun was about to set soon, I know she loves sunsets, there was a red picnic blanket on the floor, some of her favorite foods, and even some little canvases and paintbrushes so we could paint if she wanted to.

"Okay you ready? Open your eyes!" She moved her hands off her eyes, as soon as she saw everything, her face lit up.

"OH MY GOD OH MY GOD, ITS SO AMAZING I LOVE IT SO MUCH SAM, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU" She ran up to me and hugged me very tightly. "You're welcome baby" I just melted into the hug and let her scent fill the air. I smiled while looking at her, her being happy and not stressed out, just makes me happy, I love her.

She spotted a butterfly in the air, she started laughing out of excitement, she loves butterflies, she gets so happy when she sees them, it's so adorable. I grabbed her hand and we both sat on the red blanket.

We ate and then right as we finished, the sun started to set. We both just stared off into the distance, she put her head on my shoulder and I wrapped my arm around her waist. We eventually wanted to just lay on the blanket, she layed with her head on my chest and arms wrapped around my waist.

"Sam, you know you didn't have to do this for me, right?"

"Yeah I know, you have just been so stressed out lately and I wanted to do something to take your mind off of everything, I hate seeing you stressed out and I just wanted to make you feel better." I said as I took her hand in mine and rubbed circles on her knuckles with my thumbs.

"Thank you Sam, I really appreciate it, like actually, this is really nice, I love you." We both sat up

I was surprised when she said that, she never says I love you, she tells me she hasn't wanted to say I love you after the ghostface attacks since the rule of, "don't trust the love interest," and she said it's not that she doesn't trust me, it's just she doesn't want to give me all of her love for me to turn out the killer.

"You said I love you?" I put my hand on her cheek, as she just averted her gaze away from me, she does this when she gets nervous. "Oh uh yeah, sorry does that make you unco-"

I cut her off by quickly pressing my lips against hers, the kiss was passionate yet soft. When I'm with her, it's like all my problems just float away and all the weight disappears from off of my shoulders, I forget about Billy and the stupid hallucinations , I stop having those anxious thoughts about Tara getting hurt when I'm not around, and I forget ghostface even exist. It's perfect.

We both pulled away as we were both out of breath. "I love you too" I tell her as I lay back down. She doesn't say anything, she just smiles and lays back down on my chest. One hand is playing with her hair while the other is intertwined with mine. We both lay in comfortable silence until we drift off to sleep. I love her more than anything, I want this to last forever.

What was said so casually before is actually a big fucking deal. She’s on a panel of people talking about the importance of diversity in art, with an emphasis on queer Black creators. As Mol listens to her share the bullet points of her research and preparations, she can’t help but think that China’s exactly where she’s meant to be.

“When I was asked to do the panel, I was dating this photographer. Oh my god, Mol, you would’ve loved her stuff. She was so raw. Worked only in black and white, so she played with shadows. She could make anyone’s body look like it belonged in a museum, I swear.” She swirls her martini—Beefeater gin, dirty, extra olives—between her fingers, her long, braids swirling on the tabletop. Mol can almost still feel them falling onto her back, tickling her sides as China moved behind her, inside of her.

“Anyway, I was gonna try and get her introduced to a couple of folks, use this opportunity to get her in front of some people who hold real keys around here. But we broke up.”

“I’m sorry to hear that,” Mol says sincerely, her fingers dancing lightly on the sides of her own glass. McCallan 15, neat.

China sweeps a hand in front of her, playing it off. “Ah, that’s okay. Some people just can’t get with the poly thing. I seem to remember you having an issue with it yourself.”

Mol flushes, and she hopes the lights are low enough to conceal it. “It wasn’t my favorite thing, no,” she admits. “But if it works for you, great. I respect it.”

“All you can do,” China says. She takes a drink, her dark eyes never leaving Mol’s. Were her lashes always this long and this inviting? “So what do you do with yourself these days? You seeing anybody?”

“Not at the moment,” Mol says, thinking about how she almost asked China that very question in her first message. “But I guess there’s this one person…”

“There always is.”

“It’s complicated.”

“It always is.”

Mol loves this rhythm, this back and forth, her grin almost vulpine when she says, “I do okay though.” All cocky and confident, like she can get sometimes.

“I’m sure you do,” China replies.

Mol feels a bit lightheaded. It’s only her second drink, so it must have something to do with whatever is fizzling between them. Rekindling.

Shit, she wasn’t expecting this.

“You still writing?”

The question feels like a bucket of ice water being poured over her head. Probably necessary, but startling nonetheless.

“I am,” she says, trying to mask the obvious hesitation in her voice.

“About what?” China asks. She mimics Mol’s cadence, making Mol laugh. Reigniting the spark.

“Funny that you should ask, actually, because I, uh—“ Is she actually going to tell her the truth? Admit that she’s lured her here under somewhat false pretenses? She supposes the answer is yes, as the words tumble out, “I mostly write about my love life.”

China perks up at that, leaning back in her chair. “Essays?”

“Kind of,” Mol says. But after thinking about it, says, “Yeah. It’s all short-form.”

“Interesting.” China leans back in, puts her elbows on the table, her hands clasping underneath her chin. “Have you ever written about me?”

“Yes.”

“Would I like what you had to say?”

“Probably.”

“Can I read it?”

“Sure.”

It’s likely a sickness that she should see a doctor about, but Mol’s so turned on she could combust right there at the table. The table that China is resting on, taking up space like she owns the place. And she could. God, the way she’s looking at Mol right now? Anyone would be hard pressed to deny her anything. A/N: Hiii my lovely dear beautiful 😗 anon! Listen, searching for cat facts took longer than writing this because I have no knowledge of science and animal stuff lol so I hope this is accurate (this is also not scientific but it is kind of gross, maybe?). Also, the source I used for cat stuff is here.

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x reader (no pronouns). Alpine's here too.

CW: I always try to make my blurbs with as less descriptions of the reader as possible, but this time reader has a few niche interests in animals so just have that in mind. Mentions of cat anatomy.

It's all part of the routine by now: Bucky comes in, you check his shoulder and arm for any discomfort he may have, and off he goes to the next mission. He likes it, hell... he enjoys it to the point of your check-ups being the favorite part of every mission.

"How's my favorite Avenger doing?" Your chirpy greeting had become Bucky's favorite part of it by now.

"I'm doing alright, the arm's also-"

"You know damn well I'm not talking about you." The white ball of fur that sat on Bucky's shoulder almost jumped at you when your hands made their usual grabby motion, and Bucky didn't even try to hide the smile anymore.

They are very similar, Bucky and Alpine. You can't imagine a sceneario in which Alpine would jump to Sam's arms, or rub against Tony's chin, yet the little cat looks for you and takes comfort in between your hands as soon as he sees you; Bucky doesn't jump to you, of course, but when he sees his cat purr under you soft caresses he understands it, he knows the effect your hands have, soft and healing and warm and-

"Oh shit, Alpine!" He blinks away his frozen brain when he spots Alpine climbing over to your shoulder - rear to your face and tail in the air. "I don't know why he is doing this, I'm so sorry." He is rambling, pulling his cat over to him again even as the cat mewos in protest. 

"Don't worry about it, Buck, really. I appreciate it even." You giggle, stretching your hand to pet the cat again.

"You... appreciate it?" Bucky's confussion is all over his face, looking at you with knotted eyebrows.

"Yeah, when cats put their rear end on your face and lift their tails, especially kittens, it means that your kitty is feeling confident and happy, it's their way of showing you they are ready to be friendly." You reply with a smile, as if you weren't talking about cat butts. Bucky doesn't interrupt, looking at the small smile on your face and feeling himself match it. "This is mostly because of when they were growing up, you know? Mom cats lick their baby's butt to stimulate them when they are figuring out how to defecate, so when a cat shows you their butt they are just asking for-" You stop suddenly, looking at Bucky for a second just to find him looking at you with wide eyes and a smile. "What are they asking for?" There's genuine curiosity in his voice, and he blames it entirely on the way your eyes lit up when you started giving your explanation.

"I'm sorry, that was... it was gross. You came here to get your arm checked, and I ended up talking about cats' butts." You shake your head, trying to get the thoughts of the last two mintues out.

"I want to hear though." Bucky admits "Alpine shows me his butt all the time and I had no idea why. How do you know all that stuff?"

"I wanted to be a vet before I became a doctor." Your shy smile has Bucky melting, but it is the pure excitement in your face what makes his heart leap out of his chest. "I learned a lot of animal stuff from reading veterinary books. Animal behaviour is so interesting! Most animals actually have developed a way to communicate with humans and- wow! Sorry! I'm rambling again."

"You don't have to apologize, I swear." He smiles kindly at you. Who knows what, or who, had made you feel bad for rambling about this passion of yours before, but he knew how being silenced felt like and he was definitely not going to do it to you. "I want to hear everything you have to say."
