woke up still half-dreaming about TCM boys so now I've got a slightly firmer grasp of one of the newer ones so yeehaw uh some horny rambling below the cut
Kazu is getting a soft lad with a Pixar mom dump truck ass who is quiet and comes off as a lil bit shy but once he's comfortable very much is capable of being a Soft Dom with a keen focus on positive reinforcement over punishment (tho he will definitely consider it if his partner likes it <3)
had some nice little sleepy images of him calling Kazu a good boy while he rides him, promising him rewards if he behaves well during play, and capitalizing on how soft and cozy his body is compared to all that solid muscle if you catch my drift <3

survey #150
What kind of movies are you drawn to? Horror for sure, and I also like those with complex fantasy worlds. Well-written, interesting stories are what I care about most, though. Wholesome stuff is also excellent, like I'll always be a Disney and Pixar fan.
What breakfast are you most likely to have? I tend to go through phases where it's almost always cereal or a meal replacement shake.
What career field could you see yourself in? Something involving artistic expression.
What section do you drift toward at bookstores? Young adult fantasy stuff.
Do you like fried chicken? I actually hate it.
Do you think your parents are proud of you and what you do with your life? Mom tells me she's proud of me for how hard I fight and try to improve, but I feel like a disappointment regardless. I don't know how Dad feels.
Does anyone in your family smoke? My dad and his wife do.
Do you enjoy classic rock? I definitely do.
How do you discover new music? Primarily YouTube recommendations, but also Girt.
List three things that you love about your favorite season. The variety of leaf colors, the temperature, Halloween and its whole aesthetic.
Zombies or unicorns? Unicorns. :')
Candy corn or conversation hearts? omg I absolutely hate both, but candy corn is still worse imo, it's fucking wax
Brownies or cookies? Brownies, generally, but there are times I'd prefer cookies.
What are three of the most disgusting foods, in your opinion? Balut, escargot, clams.
Have you ever had a migraine? UGH yes, it's a fucking miserable experience and I'm VERY grateful they are extremely rare for me.
What’s one medication that you take every day? I take a whoooole lot more, but Wellbutrin is one.
Who was your third grade teacher? Her name was Mrs. Britt.
What’s the weather like today where you live? It's rainy all day on-and-off, and it's quite chilly for this time of year (65*F).
What is one thing you like that a lot of people don’t? Vulture culture, which is basically the use of naturally deceased animals and their parts for artistic creation. I do think it can be done distastefully, but there are breathtaking VC pieces created with much love from the artist.
What is one thing that everyone else seems to like that you don’t? Television. I've started liking it more when I'm watching stuff with Girt, but in general, it really doesn't interest me.
When was the last time you went swimming? Recently, because I did some aqua therapy at PT versus always on land.
Do you have other identities/words you relate to/associate with but don't necessarily identify as? I guess somewhat nonbinary, like gender just means nothing to me personally and I'm definitely a mix of both the traditionally feminine and masculine, but I'm perfectly fine with being a woman to myself and others, I have no interest in transitioning.
How do you want to be perceived as, aesthetically/socially? (i.e dainty, mature, strong, child-like, ethereal, etc.) Uh, strong is definitely one. I'd like to be less skittish and jumpy, and able to stay calm in tough situations. I always want to be seen as a caring person.
Does your partner share your orientation? (Do they identify the same as you?) No, I'm pan and he's straight. We're both cis, though.
When was the last time you experienced a pleasant surprise? Girt showed up with flowers when he came over last as a congrats on finishing physical therapy. <3 I had no idea, but it was really sweet.
When was the last time you were in any amount of pain? This is super super minor for now, but I'm definitely feeling my period incoming because of cramps.
What’s the longest you’ve ever stayed inside? How about outside? Hell, weeks. Maybe even around a month. Outside, I'm really not sure, but probably sometime as a kid.
Who was the last person to hug you? Do you hug this person often? Girt, and yes, every time I see him.
What was the last show you watched? Have you seen it before, or is it something you’re watching for the first time? Girt and I finished watching Dark the other day; we watched all three seasons so it definitely wasn't the first time haha.
Do you enjoy Jim Carrey movies? I do, he's a really funny guy imo with fantastic and very recognizable acting skills, and from what I've heard he's a hell of a good guy too.
Do you remember what the last kind of gum was that you had? Not really, but I thiiiink some mint thing.
Do you enjoy watching shows about survival? Why/why not? They can be interesting; my mom likes watching Naked and Afraid a lot, and while you can learn some cool things, for me personally I've always found these kinds of challenge shows pointless just because of how miserable the contestants always end up. Like the psychological and physical toll you take just to say "yeah I survived in the jungle for a month despite not actually needing to" is SOOOOOO not worth it imo.
Do you have any nicknames for your significant other? Well "Girt" is already a nickname, it's just how I've always known him. He gets the usual partner petnames as well.
Have you ever set up your best friend with someone? Yes and then we flirted behind her back and he eventually broke up with her because he wanted to be with me despite not even ACTUALLY knowing each other christ I would kick 12 y/o Brittany off a fucking mountain lmfao
What’s the worst car accident you or a friend has ever gotten into? I'm not sure. Seeing the picture of my little sister's old car when she got in a wreck with a fucking 18-wheeler makes me want to say that, like the car was entirely totaled, but Nicole - thank fucking god - came out with only seatbelt bruises/scars and I think a headache and general body soreness. You would NOT have expected her to come out even alive; that was a super fucking scary day, I can still hear in my head my mom sobbing on the phone with Ashley finding out where she was and straight bulleting for the hospital. It took her a LONG time to stop crying, long after seeing that Nicole was fine. I don't think I have ever in my life seen my mom that scared and upset.
Has one of your exes ever been the cause of a breakup between you and a boyfriend? No.
What’s something that has made you realize just how much you care and love someone else? When I went into the hospital last March, I was once again freaking out over if I liked Girt in a truly romantic way, but let me tell you, the night he called me while I was there just to talk to me like I was a normal person that he cared to speak to, I fucking knew I loved him, like it was the flip of a switch. Even the staff, who knew me as the gravely depressed patient, could tell how different I was after that. I think the reason it worked that way was I just remembered calling Jason at the hospital right after the breakup when I needed to get stuff from his place, and he was just so "I don't want to be speaking to you whatsoever" and it cut me so deep, deeper than I realized until this phone call from Girt, because it was as if that suddenly healed the wound and shoved in my face, "See? This is how someone is supposed to love you." He called me almost every day while I was there, making time for me even on his work days, and it was always the highlight of that day. This guy just never gives up on me and I owe him so much for that.
What was the name of the last pet of yours that died? My sweet Teddy boy.
What’s the longest you’ve gone without talking to someone when you were mad? A few days.
How long does it take you to normally take a shower? Somewhere around ten minutes. I've never understood how long some people can regularly stay in the shower, like I'm getting clean and getting out.
Have you ever burned incense before? Yes, I like doing that.
Ever been on a picnic? No, but I really want to one day as a date with Girt, once doing so is reasonable with my legs. He was all for it when I brought it up and it made me so happy lol
Do you live with your parents? Only my mom.
What do you call them? Mom/Mama/Ma and Dad/Daddy.
Do you know one of your best friend's major secrets? I actually don't know just how much of a secret it is to his family, but I do know something he certainly doesn't openly share or brag about.
What does your best friend look like? He's tall, slim, pale Caucasian with naturally black wavy/curly-ish short hair but it's graying early like his dad (he hates it, a lot), brown eyes, and he wears pretty normal glasses.
Describe their personality in 3 words: Loyal, reclusive, and funny.
Are you weary of displaying signs of affection for your significant other around adults? Why or why not? Not at all, but also we are adults. I just don't think showing love for someone should be something you should be ashamed of.
Have you ever had red velvet cake or carrot cake? Have you ever made either of those? I enjoy both, but red velvet cake is absolutely on top. I don't bake or even just cook.
If you could see any band/musician in concert, dead or alive, who would you see? Rammstein; not only because they're my favorite, but because their concerts are legendary for how fun and impressive they are.
Are the members of your favorite band still alive? I'm stunned Ozzy is still alive lol, immensely grateful for that, but still. I know he's had at least one bandmate in his solo career to die, former guitarist Randy Rhoads, but I'm not sure about others. Rammstein's lineup is still what it's always been since they started in the 90s.
Who is your favorite rapper? Eminem is the only rapper I know of whose music isn't unordinary for me to like when I hear it.
Favorite country singer/band? Tim McGraw, probably. I do love Carrie Underwood's voice, though.
Favorite female solo vocalist? Honestly not sure, I'd have to think for a while and I don't feel like it.
Favorite male solo vocalist? Again, not so sure on the solo part, so I guess Ozzy by default. His voice is entirely recognizable, like you're not gonna mistake him for someone else, so that makes him stand out, but he's not my favorite voice ever from an audibly pleasing perspective.
Favorite female-headed band? Otep.
Favorite male-headed band? Rammstein.
Who was your favorite musician when you were a kid? Backstreet Boys were first, then Jesse McCartney.
If you had to get a tattoo based off of a movie, what would you get? I actually want a Simba tattoo one day, y'know, the art Rafiki does of him on rock with the addition of his mane and the quote "remember who you are" on it, and I'm even very into the idea of a "hakuna matata" tattoo as someone with such severe anxiety.
What book series do you like? Wings of Fire by Tui T. Sutherland is my reading thing now.
Name one biography you’ve read? I read Ozzy's autobiography as a teen.
Do you have any reading disabilities? No, thankfully.
Who are your favorite artists? I have many, I adore Emil Melmoth's sculpture work, Mothmeister's pictures, Anastasiya Dobrovolskaya is my favorite photographer, and for actual drawings/paintings, I fucking love NukeRooster, Puffygator, Maquenda, Sandara, and Culpeo-Fox, all their social account names bc I don't know personal names.
What is your favorite period of art? I don't really have one.
Do you prefer classic art or modern art better? Both can be fantastic, I don't have a strong preference. I WILL say that I very much enjoy the sheer physicality of classic work, no tablets or fancy Photoshop brushes, etc.
Do you have any art or prints of famous artworks on your walls? No famous work, no.
If you are good, or were good, what kind of things do you/do you think you would paint? Primarily meerkats of course, probably mostly OCs in various RP scenes or just incorporated into cool concepts. I would love to be able to do this, well.
Do you consider architecture an art? OF COURSE, you can't ask an art history student this question and expect them to say no, architecture is some of the earliest and most grand forms of art.
Are you good at photography? I sure hope so seeing as I'm trying to build a career off of it. I do genuinely think I'm better than average at it, but I've still got skills to hone in and also further train my artistic eye from a technical perspective.
Do you know anyone who has ODed or died while high? Well, I didn't know him, but I know of him and care very much about it because this person was Girt's nephew's father. It's an absolutely heart-rending story.
Is weed really the gateway drug? It can be, yes; I know people who started with weed and went worse, so you can't convince me it never is.
Who are your closest friends right now? Besides my boyfriend, Mazzy and Tez.
Have you ever become legit friends with someone you met at work? No.

Hurry up and wait is a sentiment many of us are familiar with.
Once we’ve run out of things to do, before the thing, whatever the thing is, we enter into a kind of holding space.
During these spaces, our mind can go to terrible places, as it wanders about looking for something to do, relating to the upcoming thing. I’m sure many of us have been there.
Naturally, for me, it is the upcoming trip. With the COVID panic around, naturally, my mind still insists on overreacting to any little health like – like weird pain on my left side that was different from the usual pain. You know what it was? A pimple. Even if it wasn’t that, there was another easy explanation to jump to: the chair. For a week I was condemned to a chair at work I could not adjust, because – of all things – a bed bug infestation at work moved us all out of our usual area to either work at home, or work in another part of the building.
I chose another part of the building, and so begins the tragedy of the chair that couldn’t be adjusted.
In attempts to “hurry up and wait”, I chose to begin a Disney movie marathon – not much of a marathon with just one movie a week, but one movie became two, and with everything else going on, it helped alleviate the concern. Not to mention, picking the movies were an ordeal, as there are so many to go through.
Do I include Marvel or Star Wars?
Pixar?
In the end, it ended up being: Aristocats, Hercules, Coco, Toy Story, The Little Mermaid, Brave, Pocahontas, and the Pirates of the Caribbean. Movies that meant something to me, and to my mom. Narrowing that down though…what a list.
Naturally, it hasn’t put all the worries to bed, but I knew that wasn’t possible. It was one small way to deal with them, to detour them, while staying “in the moment” with what the thing was, too.
So if you find yourself in that situation, look for ways to remain passively engaged with the thing, whatever it is, good or bad. I think that’s a bit better than trying to avoid it entirely or distract from it – but that may not work out at all times, so use your best judgment.
In my case, it was easy to find something.
If you’re in the “hurry up and wait” phase before a surgery, that may be more tricky. You could watch some hospital shows or movies, documentaries. It need not be on your exact issue, and it’s probably a good idea to avoid ones that end in tears.
Hurry up and wait before a trip, could be just engaging with what’s available in the spot, or along the way!
Hurry up and wait for holidays, well, there’s endless holiday movies and songs. Even novels.
The gist is, to avoid your mind wandering, keep it engaged in some fashion with the thing that is on the horizon. Don’t let it drift too far from it, too often. It will – of course it will – but try to keep it present and prepared for the thing. It does a better job than actively avoiding it, at least for me, because that continues to keep that part of the mind active that may want to wander in worry over the thing.
So this is my advice, for those of prone to catastrophizing! Engage as best you can during the “hurry up and wait” period, to try and stave that off.

Four Discoveries And A Weapon
Fandom: Teen Wolf
Ship: Non-explicit Scisaac
Summary: The pack discovers things about Isaac, but Isaac discovers things about them too. (AKA four Isaac discoveries, and one time they’re used against him.)
Notes: I accidentally wrote a really long fic and couldn’t think of an adequate title but here’s this. I ended up loving teen wolf so much that I immediately started rewatching it once I finished, so prepare for some teen wolf fics
-1-
Isaac is cute. He would never admit it, but he is. Don’t get me wrong, he’s hot too- but mostly cute, in a puppy kind of way.
He despised being complimented in general, but he always got especially uncomfortable when the girls would coo over him like some child saying its first words or taking its first steps. Allison had seen through Isaac’s exterior quickly compared to the others, he was full of bravado and dark humour, but she could see the fear and desire for companionship within him.
Isaac lost his mother, and then he lost his brother, and that’s hard enough for a kid to go through. But then he lost his father too. Isaac has never had a family, but he’s not opposed to the idea. In fact, although he’d never say so, he would love to be part of a family.
Allison was the quickest of the bunch to realize, cuing Lydia in on the situation. Lydia was the one to realize that although he would flinch away at first, if the touch lingered, Isaac would lean into it. Isaac couldn’t fight his instinct to flinch away or protect himself, but he could show his appreciation for affection wordlessly through his actions once the panic subsided.
The way that Isaac would lean into pats on the shoulder and head scratches was really, really cute.
And a lot like a puppy.
Dinner and a movie at the Hale loft had become a weekly tradition for the pack. Every week they would find themselves strewn in random places across the loft waiting for someone to cook them dinner, before they would binge watch some cheesy series or some Pixar film.
Derek had become increasingly domestic lately in his attempts to be a better alpha. For Stiles and Scott, it was super bizarre, but Boyd, Lydia, and Allison found it kind of endearing. Erica would’ve probably found it endearing too… If she were capable of feeling anything but annoyance (unless it was towards Boyd, of course).
As a part of Derek’s initiative, he had finally caved in and purchased some ‘homey’ furniture. The pack was lying anywhere comfortable, taking in the scent of the pasta Derek was cooking. Lydia, Stiles, Scott, and Isaac were arguing over which Disney movie was the best, and which they should watch first.
Isaac hadn’t seen many Disney movies since Camden died, but he knew his definite favourite. “Why would we watch Wall-E when we could be watching Meet The Robinsons? Don’t be a sucker, Stiles.”
“I am not! I can just appreciate a good romance between two lonely robots. Are cute robots in a dystopian future too much to ask for?”
“All I’m saying is The Princess And The Frog was a cultural reset, that movie is amazing and Tiana’s totally badass!” Lydia responded, seemingly disgusted at the mere notion that anyone would find any other movie the best.
When dinner was finally ready, they ended up settling on Aladdin, because Scott, Lydia, and Boyd all wanted to watch a Disney princess movie, but they couldn’t come to a consensus on which one. (Scott, of course, wanted Beauty And The Beast, while Boyd wanted to watch The Little Mermaid. And who knew that Derek wasn’t impartial to Disney Channel Originals?)
Isaac had remembered bits and pieces of the film from when he was younger, but not too much. He did remember that he was attracted to both Jasmine and Aladdin, which was his first of many strange awakenings as a little kid.
Almost like a formula, by the time A Whole New World was blaring from the TV’s speakers, Isaac was laying on the couch and receiving as much physical contact as possible. His head was in Allison’s lap and his feet and legs were draped over Lydia, who was also lying down but not nearly as horizontally and as comfortably as Isaac.
He seemed pretty relaxed despite the fact that he had managed this position by slowly inching closer and closer to the both of them until Allison gently pushed his head down into her lap. She began to scratch his head, Isaac responding by pushing his head further into Allison’s hand, melting into the touch.
Lydia cooed softly, not loud enough for the others to hear her, but loud enough for Isaac’s cheeks to dust pink, even in the low light.
Allison just smiled fondly, scratching a little harder and receiving a quiet, pleased groan in response. Isaac was trying to fight the tiredness that hit him the second Allison had began her calming touch, but it was becoming increasingly hard to fight the closing of his eyes.
Allison started to stray closer to Isaac’s skin, and when she started to scratch behind his ears she believed that his gasp was out of pleasure… It was, but that wasn’t all. When she continued Isaac started to giggle softly, his nose scrunching up at the sensation.
“A little ticklish?” Allison teased when she realized the reason for the giggles. She scratched a little softer, and Isaac started hiccuping softly, a small grin on his face while his eyes remained closed. “Do you want me to stop?”
“‘S good,” Isaac moaned tiredly through his giggles in response, “feels nice.”
Allison laughed as Lydia started her own, ever-so-light tracing over Isaac’s shins.
“You’re such a puppy.”
Isaac fell asleep giggling softly. He didn’t worry about the pictures that Scott and Stiles would take of him sleeping, curled up with Lydia and Allison as he snored lightly. That was a problem for tomorrow, and oh yes, it is a problem.
Discovery One: Isaac is a lot like a puppy.
-2-
Scott’s eyes shot open, immediately trying to figure out what sound had woken him up. He heard it again, a mix of whimpering, panting, and screaming, and it took him a second to realize where it was coming from. He bolted up from his bed, opening his bedroom door and seeing his mom walk down the hall.
“It’s alright, I’ve got it, Mom,” Scott assured her, waving her off. She smiled out of gratitude, it’s not that she doesn’t want to help her surrogate son, she just knew that Scott was always much better at the job.
Isaac was covered in sweat, his hair matted to his forehead, his hands balled into fists, holding his blanket as tight as he possibly could, white-knuckled. He was in the fetal position, his back to the wall.
Scott sat down on the edge of the bed slowly, reaching out and rubbing circles over Isaac’s back. “Hey, Isaac? Isaac, it’s okay, you’re okay.”
Isaac continued to shake, his eyes squeezed tightly shut as he started to form words through his dream. “N-no, please. I’m sorry. I d-don’t w-want to go in, p-please.”
Scott knew what Isaac was afraid of, and he was suddenly wishing that he could take away mental pain instead of physical. He shook the taller boy harder, until his eyes shot open and he recoiled into the corner of his bed.
Isaac was breathing hard, panic written on every feature of his face, trying to figure out what was going on.
Scott looked at him sympathetically, slowly reaching back towards Isaac to put his hand on the boy’s arm. “Hey, you’re alright Isaac, everything’s okay, you’re safe.”
Isaac’s eyes turned to Scott, but they were distant, he wasn’t really looking. Scott brought both of his hands up to cup Isaac’s face.
“It’s okay, I promise you’re safe.”
Isaac’s breathing was still laboured, but he brought his hands up and placed them over Scott’s, gripping on as if his life depended on it. “Th-the freezer?”
“You’re not going in there ever again, Isaac, I promise.”
When Scott saw the realization on Isaac’s face, he pulled him into a hug, one hand across Isaac’s back and the other cradling his head.
They stayed like that for a few minutes, Scott cradling Isaac and whispering words of assurance while Isaac allowed himself to calm down and breathe.
Wordlessly, Scott ended up getting Isaac to move forward, and Scott slipped himself between Isaac and the wall, holding him close to his chest while they spooned.
Scott had one hand draped over Isaac’s chest while the fingers of his other hand were running through Isaac’s hair. Isaac smiled at the sudden warmth, cuddling into Scott as much as he could. Trying to further soothe him, Scott started to draw shapes with his dull fingernails over Isaac’s hipbone.
Isaac twitched before bringing his hands to his face, a deep chuckle slipping from his lips. Confused, Scott furrowed his brow, craning his head at the taller boy.
Isaac was still covering his face, but he could feel Scott’s eyes on him. “Stohop thahat.”
“Stop what? This?” Scott started moving his fingers quicker and Isaac flinched hard against Scott’s chest, unable to stop the frantic laughter that spilled from him. “Is someone a little ticklish?”
“Nohoho! I’m trying tohoho slehehep! Cut it ohohout!” Isaac snapped back, trying to pry Scott’s hand away from his hips.
Scott smiled, he always loved the sound of Isaac’s laughter, but it was so rare. This laughter was everything in comparison to the ironic, dry laugh that Isaac would let out after he said something sarcastic. Scott stopped, even though he would love to hear the music of Isaac’s laughter for as long as he possibly could. He would have to investigate further another time, but for now, he was content with falling asleep holding Isaac, listening to soft giggles that escaped him as he drifted off too.
Discovery Two: It’s going to take a while for Isaac to be okay, but Scott is more than willing to stay by his side the whole time. The rest of the pack is completely willing too.
-3-
With Scott being much busier and all, Melissa had grown to miss spending time with her loud, hyperactive teenager every evening after work. Since Isaac had moved in, he had been spending a lot more time at home after school than Scott.
Although Isaac was very different from Scott, Melissa enjoyed spending time with Isaac when he was home. The longer Isaac lived with the McCalls, the more like family Isaac became, and Melissa certainly wasn’t complaining. She definitely had enough love in her heart for a new addition to the family.
Isaac was quiet compared to Scott’s usual crowd. Allison and Lydia have always spoken their minds freely, and Stiles was.. well Stiles is Stiles. Isaac was different. He was timid, and he always called her Ms. McCall no matter how many times she would tell him that Melissa was fine.
Melissa found the manners and timidness cute at first, until Scott had told her about everything Isaac had been to. Now, she tried with every interaction to bring out Isaac’s childish side, the kid deserved a family, and he deserved to act like a kid sometimes too.
Today, Melissa had come home from a shift to find Isaac cutting up vegetables at the kitchen counter.
“Hey Isaac, what are you doing?” Melissa greeted, placing a hand on his shoulder. Isaac flinched slightly, looking, as usual, like a deer in the headlights.
“Hi Ms. McCall, I- uh- I was just making dinner because I knew you were working late and I thought you would probably be hungry s-so I decided to make dinner, b-but I started too late so it’s not finished yet. I’m sorry, I swear it sh-should be finished s-soon I just h-have to-”
“Isaac, Isaac it’s alright. It was really nice of you to make dinner, I’m sure it’ll be amazing,” Melissa should’ve stopped him sooner, instead of letting him ramble on and apologize unnecessarily, but she guessed it was better late than never.
She sat in one of the barstools at the counter, watching Isaac as he tried to cut some carrots in his hand. His hands were shaking and he wasn’t making any progress on the veggies, and Melissa couldn’t let it go on any longer.
Melissa reached out, holding Isaac’s shaking hands in her own after setting the knife aside. Isaac looked up, he looked fearful, scared that Melissa was going to yell, and she could feel her eyes going soft. She started to softly rub circles over his knuckles, watching slight confusion flash on his face.
“Isaac, hun, you don’t have to apologize for anything. You haven’t done anything wrong, and even if you had made a mistake, which you didn’t, I wouldn’t hurt you. People make mistakes, and the worst punishment you’d ever expect under the McCall roof is a weekend grounding and a talk. You’re safe, you’re okay Isaac.”
Isaac looked up from their hands, relief in his eyes and a small smile on his face. “Th-thanks Ms. McCall.”
“I’m still fine with you just calling me Melissa,” She got up and walked behind the counter, “now, can I help?”
She had tasered Isaac in his side to get him to scoot over, and he recoiled with a giggle. Melissa recalled fond memories of tickling Scott absolutely silly, something she would do to him up until only recently, when he was about fifteen or sixteen. The memory triggered her maternal instinct, and she started spidering her fingers up and down his sides, going from his hips to the top of his ribs.
“Mihihiss McCahahall!” Isaac doubled over, he was trying not to fight back so that he wouldn’t hurt her, but his instincts weren’t always easy to fight. Instead of trying to bat her hands away or grab her wrists, he sunk to the floor, ending up with his back against the cupboard and his knees up, Melissa still hovering over him and poking him wherever she could reach. “Plehehehease, it tihihickles!”
“I’d sure hope so!” Melissa teased, but she let up, offering Isaac her hand so he could stand up. She ruffled his hair before passing him the knife he had been using to cut the veggies, grabbing one for herself. “I’ll do the onions, Scott always complains about how they hurt his eyes.”
Discovery Three: Isaac deserved kindness, he just didn’t know it yet, and Melissa would be damned if she didn’t help him realize.
-4-
Allison, Lydia, and Melissa weren’t the only people to realize that Isaac desired a family, the entire pack had caught on eventually. Derek was a little late to the revelation, but better late than never.
As a shock to both himself and the rest of the pack, Derek stepped up to a parental role rather quickly. He had already had the cooking, cleaning, and pack hugs down, but now he found himself fussing over Isaac like a mother would. Derek was over-protective, caring, and understanding. It was everything that Isaac hadn’t realized he needed, even though he wouldn't admit it.
Whenever Isaac was hurt, he immediately had Allison, Lydia, and Derek fussing over him like a child who had fallen off of his bike. It made him blush beyond compare, and he would always try to bat them away, but time and time again they would still rush to his side despite his quick healing.
Derek had started attending every lacrosse game. He wasn’t vocal like Melissa or the sheriff, but his eager thumbs up and the big smile he would plaster on his face every time Isaac looked over were enough to fuel a lifetime’s worth of embarrassment.
Isaac was killing it this game, and paired with Stiles and Scott, the team was definitely winning.
Afterwards, they had ran into the changing rooms, but something told Isaac that he should be listening to the parents outside.
“The boys were amazing today, it’s crazy how much they’ve improved since the start of the season,” Melissa said.
“Yeah, they were great, I’m so proud of my boy,” the Sheriff seemed to agree.
At this point, Scott had noticed Isaac’s preoccupation, and he decided to listen for himself.
“It was a great game, I’m proud of Isaac and how far he’s come to trust his team.”
It wasn’t much, Derek had always been a man of few words, but it was enough to have Isaac cover his face, blushing up to the tips of his ears.
Scott smiled, moving closer to ruffle Isaac’s hair. “Aww, Derek’s proud of his favourite puppy.”
“Shut up!” Isaac groaned, packing all of his stuff into his bag.
“You’re definitely getting a ‘Daddy’s Favourite’ shirt for Christmas,” Stiles joked, following suit with Isaac and packing his things.
The three of them walked out, greeted by their guardians awaiting them.
“Good job, guys, that was a great game!” Ms. McCall praised them, putting her arm around Scott’s shoulder. The sheriff hummed in agreement, while Derek gave Isaac a small smile.
“If it’s okay with you two, I’d like to take the boys out for some food,” Derek spoke, looking at Ms. McCall and Sheriff Stilinski for approval.
“Totally fine by me, I have a night shift to be getting to,” Sheriff Stilinski approved, giving Stiles a pat on his shoulder and saying goodbye.
“Totally fine by me too,” Melissa nodded, eyes Scott and Isaac, “I will see you two later, don’t get into too much trouble.”
Derek smiled at the three teens before asking them where they wanted to go, Stiles and Scott branching off into an argument of Olive Garden vs TGIFridays. Isaac just got physically closer to Derek, walking next to him instead of behind like Stiles and Scott were.
“You played really well that game, Isaac. You’ve really improved,” Derek praised him and Isaac was back at his furious blushing. He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, looking down.
Isaac looked awkward, but Derek knew he liked the compliments. Derek could smell it on him.
Derek brought a hand up and tried to swat Isaac’s hand from his neck, but Isaac gasped and twitched away.
“No way,” Derek had a mischievous smile on his face, Isaac just let out a long groan in response. “Well, if you won’t take my compliments, I might have to use my discovery and take some drastic measures. Next game, I’m gonna make a sign, it’ll say ‘I’m Isaac’s #1 fan’.”
Discovery Four: Isaac liked compliments, he just didn’t know how to take them
-And 1-
“Just- lay still!” Stiles grunted, pulling the tweezers away from Isaac’s neck. Stiles had snuck up on Lydia and Lydia had screamed, shattering every glass within a 5 metre radius.
Isaac, sadly, was in that radius, and he had been bringing his glass up to his mouth when it shattered. Most of the glass ended up piercing through his shirt, some small shards lodged in his chest, but others had ended up in his neck.
Stiles was trying to take the glass out, but Isaac’s wiggling was a little too much.
“I have like four left, Isacc, can you just stop wiggling?”
“I’ll stop wiggling if you stop touching me.”
Stiles sighed, watching as Isaac’s cuts practically healed instantly. He had gotten all of the shards out, but Stiles still wanted to have some fun.
“Hey, Scott? Could you come hold Isaac while I try to get the rest of this glass?”
“Sure thing, Stiles,” Scott had clued in on the situation as soon as Stiles had started speaking, the familiar glint of mischief in his voice.
Isaac had bolted upright, getting up to run, walking straight into Derek instead.
“What’s wrong, Isaac? A little… sensitive?” Stiles paused for dramatic effect as Derek stopped Isaac from leaving.
“He is, actually! You should try his ears,” Allison piped up.
“Or his legs.”
“His hips are pretty bad.”
“Yeah, his ribs are too.”
All the werewolves in the room had perked up, Isaac’s pulse had skyrocketed when Stiles had mentioned his ribs. Scott hadn’t even realized that a heart could beat that fast considering Isaac had already been on edge when his sensitivity was mentioned.
Isaac wasn’t one for negotiating, or begging, really, so instead he just turned to run, getting as far as a grand total of two feet before Scott came barreling into him, knocking him to the ground.  They rolled for a bit until Scott inevitably got the upper hand, pinning Isaac’s arms to his sides.
“Any last words?”
Isaac had opened his mouth to respond, but ended up interrupting himself with a bouquet of giggles as someone dragged a finger up his sole.
“I’m sorry, were you planning on saying something? My bad,” Stiles taunted.
Scott chuckled at his best friend’s antics before tracing his fingers over Isaac’s collarbones. Isaac started to chuckle, shaking his head frantically in an attempt to shake the fingers off.
Allison and Lydia had gotten closer to the three of them, but didn’t dare join in in case Isaac got overwhelmed by all the touch. They did, however, share a look as they both mutually agreed to play a game that they often used to tease Isaac. The goal was to see who could make him blush the most for the longest, and it was far more entertaining than any movie or tv show ever is.
“Aww, is the whittle puppy ticklish? The puppy can’t take a little belly rub?” Lydia teased, leaning in to quickly scratch over Isaac’s belly once. Isaac snorted, throwing his head back.
“Is the big, bad beta giggling? Is a little tickling too much to handle? Maybe you’re gonna need a little extra protection against those hunters, what if they found out about your little secret?” Allison hadn’t expected for her comments to embarrass Isaac so much, but he desperately tried to hide his violently red face anywhere that he could.
Stiles was growing bored, and he had started to trace upwards, scratching over Isaac’s thighs. Isaac tried to kick away, but Stiles wasn’t sitting in any position that could lead to himself getting hurt.
“C’mon Derek, aren’t you gonna join?” Scott asked, tracing his fingers over the shells of Isaac’s ears and appreciating the lazy, adorable laughter that it produced. He was gonna have to catalogue that for future cuddling.
Derek considered the offer before finally leaning over the beta, rapidly tasering Isaac’s ribs as Isaac began to flail and flop like a fish out of water, screaming out protests.
“Oh Gohohod!” Isaac squealed, desperately trying to retrieve his wrists from Scott’s grasp. Scott finally did let go, but Isaac’s brain had gone into overdrive as his laughter entered a territory of silence. Isaac couldn’t even begin to think of an effective use of his hands, let alone instruct them to follow through.
“Ple- Pleehehe-” Isaac wasn’t one for negotiating, or begging, but now he was certainly wishing that he had the ability to do either. His words kept dying in his streams of laughter, which were only interrupted by snorts, hiccups, and gasps.
Isaac was radiating joy, the werewolves in the room could smell it stronger than anything else, but the kid needed to breathe too.
“Alright, that’s enough bullying for one day, kids,” Derek swatted Stiles and Scott off of his beta and Isaac suddenly wished he had the ability to express his gratefulness, but instead he curled in on himself, still laughing hysterically against his own will.
“Now that,” Stiles began, flopping himself on the couch, “is a useful discovery.”
“Oh really, Stiles? If it’s so interesting then I guess you’d be okay with being next, huh Stiles?” Derek responded, partially to embarrass Stiles and partially to take some embarrassment away from his favourite puppy.
“Don’t you dare- Derek, no don’t even think about it! Stop!”

School would be your demise. After spring had finally showed the face you liked, the carefree and shining side you always longed for, your dance competitions stopped you from truly enjoying her gift.
Your competitions lasted for three weeks in total, which meant daily practices for everyone. This year, your number was intense with flips and jumps, difficult formations and sharp moves. You loved it though, you thrived within the hard beat and the long hours.
Elena was always there to pull you out from your slump, helping you with homework and assignments and basically carrying your weight for almost a month. But she would never say a word, and you loved her for it.
The first two weeks of your competitions had already passed, with the previous Sunday being victorious for you and your team as you got second place. You celebrated grandly at a pizza place downtown when the worst thing that could happen did.
  You got your period.
Okay, maybe you were exaggerating a little bit, but this was no time for your body to be making its own battle against you. You needed every cell you had under your control and that was vital.
After a quick word with your dance instructor, you both decided that it would be for the best that you stayed inside on Monday, to rest and gather your strength for a good practice on Tuesday. And then… Well, you’d have to see.
Which brought you right to this moment, early Monday afternoon, all alone in your house, watching whatever popped up in your recommended on Youtube. You mindlessly watched video after video, just lying down and trying not to think about the searing pain that tortured your abdomen.
The stillness of your room helped the stillness of your mind which for once decided to stop its racing; the numbness was welcome, an old friend you greeted at the door and bid to come in. You wrapped yourself in her arms, allowing her to lead you back and rest.
Uncalled for, the ringtone of your phone disturbed the delicate balance. You debated answering for a few seconds but as you saw Jaemin’s name you knew that he wouldn’t stop calling until you picked up. You took him out of his misery, answering with a simple, “Hi Nana”
  “Y/N!!” he shouted.
“I need to teach you kids to talk more quietly” you mumbled under your breath.
“Y/N!!!” Jaemin repeated. “Today is Monday!!!”
“I’m aware of that Jaemin” you replied.
“You missed the club meeting” He said and you could distinguish the pout in his voice.
“I know, I am supposed to stay at home and rest today.” You explained.
“Are you sick? I heard you won yesterday, congratulations!” he said.
“No, I’m just tired. And, yes we got second place, exciting stuff!” you answered.
“Well, if you’re not sick, then I’m coming over! Movies and coffee afternoon, just the two of us!”
“No coffee allowed, Jaemin” you informed him.
“Why not?” he said, sounding hurt.
“Jaemin, I’m having one of those days” you tried to explain.
“Why? Are you feeling sad? Did Donghyuck say something to you?” He asked question after question as you chuckled.
“Jaemin, listen to me, I’m having those days of the month…” you cut him off, explaining again.
You heard him take a deep breath as realization hit him. He stayed quiet for a few seconds, and then:
“Wait! No magic bean juice, like at all? No wonder girls are so grumpy when they’re on their periods!”
  “Nana!” you reprimanded him slightly.
“Okay, okay. No magic bean juice… Snacks then?” he asked.
You wanted to say no. You knew your dad would be furious when he came home and found a boy in his house. But it had been weeks since you had hang out with Jaemin and you missed him a lot. Just one movie wouldn’t hurt.
“Alright. But bring me a lot of chocolate.” You requested.
“Yes ma’am!” Jaemin answered, hanging up the phone.
You managed to peel yourself off your bed and went to the bathroom to freshen up a little. You were looking pretty rough if you were being honest, but oh well, this was just Jaemin. You went back into your room and tidied it up, folding all your clothes and making your bed. The bell rang, announcing Jaemin’s arrival and you rushed to greet him.
“Is this enough?” Jaemin asked, holding up a huge grocery bag.
“It will do I guess” you answered him, grinning.
After one tight hug and another round of congratulations on second place, you both made your way inside, getting comfortable under the covers. You tried (and failed) to convince Jaemin to watch a new movie that you were sure would get an Oscar nomination. But he wouldn’t budge.
“Disney movies are like a painkiller! It will help with your cramps!” he insisted.
“Oh please, we’ll shut it off before 30 minutes are up. Besides, I don’t even like Disney that much.” You countered.
“Ha! Sure you don’t. Who are you kidding Y/N? You’ve picked up on every single reference I’ve made!” he scoffed.
You blushed and chuckled at his words. Disney and Pixar movies were indeed some of your favourites. You could recite whole movies by heart, you knew every lyric and song. But you wouldn’t admit it to Jaemin.
“Fine, fine! You win! Play the movie.” You told him.
Jaemin bent down to press a kiss to your cheek, before grabbing your computer and finding the movie he wanted. You watched him, eyes filled with concentration as he went on about how he hadn’t watched the movie in ages.
Soon enough, you found yourself wrapped up on Jaemin’s side, your favourite chocolate in your hands and the Disney movie filling the silence in the room. However, that didn’t last long.
The movie Jaemin suggested turned out to be a total bore, so you shut it off only 20 minutes in. You had made a brand new playlist, its soft music now drifting through your laptop's speakers and dancing through the room. You had laid back onto Jaemin, and he was now playing with your hair. The gesture should've been intimate, but it was more comfortable than anything.
Your thoughts drifted of course, to the boy next to you. Nana was playful flirting and rosy cheeks. Jaemin was constantly pushing the boundaries and a fluttering heart. Jaemin was the buzz of morning coffee, the heat seeping from it onto your palm warming up your hand and your heart.
Jaemin was everything but routine. He was the unpredictable, racing through the night and screaming the lyrics to your favourite songs. He was sneaking into his parent’s liquor cabinet for alcohol, letting your insides burn with its fumes.
Jaemin was the easiest person to love. He poured and poured his love onto anything his life touched and never held back. Jaemin was thinking about the consequences after the action.
That's why, when your tears started to fall, you did nothing to conceal them. You didn't have to. Not with Nana.
“You want to tell me what’s wrong?” he asked, his voice low.
And so you did. You poured and poured your heart out to him. You left nothing out, from your breakup, to Renjun, then Jeno and Yangyang. You went over that dreadful afternoon with Kyle, how Donghyuck found you later. You talked to him about how scared you still were, how anxious and heartbroken and confused.
He sat next to you and then continued to sit on your bed as you got up and started pacing around the room. He never said a word, he allowed you to talk for as long as you needed, to give him all the facts and details before he said anything.
It took a while for you to sit back down at the foot of your bed, only to drop your face in your hands.
“I’m such a mess” you admitted.
“You want to know what I think? These are my friends after all” Jaemin offered. You only nodded slightly at his words turning to look at him.
“I think if someone had caught feelings, you’d have known by now. The kisses were spontaneous and that’s why no one mentioned them after. And because you asked. You know us Y/N, all of us. Do you think we’d ever go against your wishes? Especially on something like this? No. None of us would, not even Hyuck.”
“About the Kyle… situation. I wish you’d let me beat up his face. I may have tiny fists, but I’m sure if I took him by surprise… Whatever. You should’ve reported it. I understand why you didn’t, I do. But that was dumb baby, I’m sorry. The good thing is, he has drawn himself back into the fiery pit he likes to call home.” Jaemin finished.
“His house is actually very pretty” you joked.
Jaemin’s face lit up at your silly joke.
“She jokes! Ladies and gentlemen, after an hour of crying, she jokes!” he teased you.
He moved over on the bed, making his way next to you. He wrapped you in his arms in a weird embrace filled with arms and limbs and bodies. But you wouldn’t have it any other way.
“Nana?” you asked after a few minutes dragged on.
  “Yes?” he responded.
“Can you come to my last competition on Friday? For moral support?” you asked.
“I’ll be at the first row.” Jaemin agreed, running his hands through your hair.
Your peaceful moment was interrupted by keys at your front door and your mother’s excited voice.
“Shit. Mom’s home.” You mumbled under your breath.
  “Is that bad?” Jaemin asked.
“Not that bad, unless Dad’s with her” you answered and paused to listen carefully for your father’s voice.
Luck was on your side however as your Dad hadn’t returned just yet. Your mother called your name, announcing she’s back and you pulled Jaemin to his feet as quickly as possible.
“Best behavior. Do not try to charm my mom or I will kill you. You say hello you DECLINE dinner and you’re out the door. Deal??” you turned to him.
“Damn baby, are you embarrassed of me?” he asked, slightly hurt.
“Not you…” you whisper under your breath, already pushing him out of the door.
“Hi Mommy! Did you have a good day at work?” you greet your Mom in the kitchen, putting back some groceries.
“It was okay. You know, work is work.” She answered as she hugged you.
“Mommy, this is Jaemin. He came to keep me some company.” You introduced your friend.
“Jaemin, it’s really nice to meet you! Y/N talks about you all the time!” your Mom said and you couldn’t help but glare at her.
Jaemin however only shot you a funny look and proceeded to greet your mother kindly. He declined dinner like you asked him, but he couldn’t help charming his way into your mother’s heart. After he left, your mother wouldn’t stop talking about him, asking about him and going on about what a kind young man he was already.
You didn’t really mind, on the contrary, you were glad your Mom had liked Nana. But the untold promise was that you wouldn’t talk about any of this in front of your Dad. Your father was… Old fashioned let’s say, so this was a strictly only girls topic.
After helping your mom with the groceries, you excused yourself back to your room. Once you got there, you opened your phone, your hand hovering over the familiar username, before you took the next step and dialed his number.
He picked up on the third ring.
  “Hello?” he asked.
  “Hi” you answered.
“What’s up, Y/N? I missed you today… In fact, it feels like I haven’t seen you in forever.” He scolded you.
  “I know, I know… That’s why I called… I have a favour to ask you.” You said.
“Oh? Let’s hear it then!” he responded.
“I need a good luck charm…” you trailed off.
“The tables have turned then?” Jeno teased you.
“They have… You think you could help a friend in a tight place?” you asked.
“I’ll be in the front row” Jeno said, not hesitating.
How ironic, you thought, that both of them had said the exact same thing. Or maybe it wasn’t ironic at all…
“You want me to bring everyone?” Jeno asked.
“I already asked Jaemin and Yangyang is going to be there since we’re competing against each other. I doubt Donghyuck will be willing to come, so that just leaves Renjun. You should ask him though, maybe he’ll need a ride or something.” You finished.
“I think you don’t give Donghyuck enough credit. I’m sure he’ll want to support you and Yangyang. Anyway, I’m going to ask.” Jeno said.
“I think you forget that Donghyuck hates my guts but oh well! Ask away! Maybe he’ll come for Yangyang.” You replied.
Jeno mumbled something under his breath that sounded a lot like “Typical”. He brushed it off right after however, hanging up the phone.
After talking to both Jaemin and Jeno, you felt significantly better. A weight had been lifted off your shoulders, first by Jaemin’s wise words and comforting hugs. Second, the weight was shared with the knowledge that Jeno would be there at your last competition, knowing exactly what you were feeling and helping you through it.
---------------------------------------------------------
The day of the competition arrived sooner than you thought. Elena drove with you in your Dad’s car, holding your hand throughout the ride and sharing her earphones with you. Calm, comforting music rushed through them into your ears, but your mind was replaying the beat you would be dancing to in a few hours, going over every move.
Once you stepped foot at the venue, you were met with the familiar rumble of the competition. You signed some forms and you headed straight backstage to meet your instructor and the rest of your team. You were carried away for a warm up as you had to rehearse on stage soon enough.
Rehearsals were a blur, your mind failing to concentrate at more than one thing at a time. Your instructor scolded you slightly but stayed reassured that you’d keep your head in the game for the actual erformance.
Backstage, Elena scooped you up in her arms, reassuring you that you did great and that you hadn’t shown anything yet. You calmed down after a bit, still sharing Elena’s earphones and keeping your hands together in a tight hold.
Before long, Elena led you to a make-up stand and got to work. As an artist, Elena had her way with make-up, producing looks that you couldn’t even dream of. She even helped you tie your hair back in a tight ponytail to match everyone. When she finished, she didn’t allow you to look at the result, but helped you get into costume first.
Once your whole outfit was complete, you walked in front of a full length mirror. The result was outstanding. Your outfit fitted you well, the black and red contradicting each other. Your eye look matched the outfit, red eye-shadow dancing over your eyelids with a fierce cat eye completing the look.
You hugged Elena and thanked her a thousand times for her help. You had begun to really calm down, a tranquility taking over you. You decided to look for Yangyang and soon enough you found his group’s dressing room and made a beeline to his arms.
“Are you sure you’re Y/N? You look amazing!” Yangyang complemented you, twirling you around.
“Elena does work wonders, what can I say!” you said.
“Well Elena clearly needs to do my make-up as well! You think I could steal her for a while?” he asked, turning to Elena.
“You want your make-up done? Really?” Elena asked.
“I don’t have the words toxic masculinity on my vocabulary, ma’am. I’d be honored.” Yangyang replied, and you had never felt more proud.
Elena fumbled for words for a few seconds before ushering Yangyang to a seat. You talked with both of them and Cat, Yangyang’s official girlfriend now, for a while before Elena turned to you.
“You know, it’s getting late, if you want to see the boys, you better get out now” she said.
“You’re probably right. Yangyang, don’t you dare move before I check the final result. I’ll be back in a second.” You announced, taking your leave.
You walked out of the dressing room and headed to the stage. Taking out your phone, you saw a message from Renjun.
    Junnie
Hey Y/N! Traffic is being a bitch so we’ll be there in like, 10 minutes. Wait for us!! We want to give you good luck hugs!
  You
I’ll be waiting! Tell Jeno to be careful, you have time!
After replying to Renjun’s message, you decided to step out anyway, to get some air and talk with some of your friends. You were introduced to some people from opposing teams and you were currently discussing the judges when you felt a hand on your shoulder.
You were surprised to find Donghyuck smiling at you once you turned around. Quickly composing yourself, you tried to hide your nervousness as you greeted him. You almost screamed when he bent down to give you a hug and wish you good luck.
“So, what do you think about today? An easy win?” Donghyuck asked.
You were still perplexed by his hug and his overall nice demeanor before you answered.
“Winning is never easy. All the teams put in a lot of work, or else they wouldn’t be here.”
“Here, here tiger, no need to get defensive. Besides, I’m supporting two teams today, aren’t I?” he asked.
“You don’t mean to make me believe that you’re here to support me, are you?” you asked him in return.
  Donghyuck’s face flashed with emotion.
“Why not? Aren’t you my friend?” he asked and you could hear the hurt in his voice.
“I don’t know Donghyuck… Are we? I mean, you always have some snarky remark to make about me day in, day out. You don’t even allow me to call you by your nickname while everyone and their mothers do… I’m not sure that’s friendship.” You replied.
His face flashed with emotion once again. He took a few seconds to gather his thoughts before saying:
“You know Y/N, that’s…” but you wouldn’t find out what it was.
A huge burden was pushed on top of you as two strong hands lifted you up and twirled you around. Laughter erupted from you as you heard Jaemin praising you. All of the boys gave you their ‘good luck hugs’ and you spiraled into conversation with them.
Donghyuck wasn’t excluded from this, but your moment was clearly over. Renjun was talking about your make-up and Elena’s skills and the others were asking you how long it would take you to perform. They almost made you dizzy, all talking at the same time but you didn’t mind; not at the moment.
You kept stealing glances at Donghyuck and you would always find him staring right back at you. It made you nervous and it made you blush, but you couldn’t even pretend that it was a bad thing.
Not long after, your teammates had to separate you from your friends. You hugged them again and you even got a kiss in the cheek from each of them for good luck. You promised to convey the same message to Yangyang and you were off.
Backstage, it seemed like everyone was moving to every direction. People were talking loudly, making last minute checks and changes. You headed straight to Yangyang’s dressing room, to grab Elena and reunite with your team.
“So, what do you think?” Yangyang asked, facing you.
You were shocked. He was all angles, high contour on his cheeks and bright orange eye shadow around his eyes.
“Yangyang you look…” you trailed off.
“Show stopping? Spectacular? Like the man of your dreams?” he offered.
  “Beautiful” you said.
“I know right? It’s hardly fair, my own boyfriend is more beautiful than me” Cat teased, smiling at Yangyang.
  “I could never” Yangyang answered.
“Yeah, yeah, you’re in love okay OKAY. Don’t you need to go?” Elena said, turning to you.
You nodded and hugged both Yangyang and Cat, exchanging good lucks. You finally stepped back in your team’s dressing room. Your instructor reprimanded you for being late, but you hardly listened. The blood in your veins had already begun to boil, the familiar buzz of the upcoming performance taking over you already.
There were only about 10 teams competing, your team taking the number 8 spot. Not too early, not too late. You were restless, pacing up and down the small room and annoying your teammates. Elena managed to pull you down on your chair as yet another group took the stage.
Your eyes were glued to the screen. They were good, too good. They moved as one, never missing a beat. The strong choreography worked amazing, their formations tight and moving around all the time. As they finished, you all took looks amongst yourselves. These people were the real stars of the night and the crowd went crazy over them.
Next was Yangyang’s group. You found Yangyang and refused to take your eyes off of him. He did well, really well. He was nervous though and you could tell by the way he would keep looking at his teammates to make sure his position was correct. You could feel he was extra nervous in the couples’ part. But his hard work paid off. He didn’t make any mistakes you could see and overall their performance was very well structured and interesting.
Before you even had time to process the performances, it was already time for you to standby. Elena pestered you with hugs and whispered soothing things in your ear, but you were buzzing. It was hard for you to stay still once again, and you felt your hands shaking uncontrollably. Your teammates moved around you and it was already time for you to step on the stage.
The bright lights blinded you, but your mind was finally still. The music flowed through you, your body moving on its own accord. You were focused and not at the same time, moving right on the beat but without fully understanding what you were doing. And just like that, it was over.
The cheers were deafening and with a simple glimpse at the crowd, you failed to see your friends. Your teammates pulled you backstage and a river of hugs and praise came over you. Elena jumped in your arms and praised how focused you were. If only she knew…
Slowly but surely, the high of the stage left your system. You remained in your seat as the two teams left performed. Then, it was time for a short break for the judges to decide on the three best teams.
Nervousness seeped through you once again. Elena had a tight grip on your hand and you felt dizzy, getting hotter and hotter, your back sweating. Before long it was time to go back on stage for the results to be announced.
  “I’m scared” you whispered.
“It’s okay. You’re going to be fine” Elena tried to console you.
Your friend Alex dragged you back on stage. You were standing amongst the rest of the teams and you were on the edge of your toes.  You tried to look for the boys to no avail; they were either too far away, or you needed contacts.
The judges took the stage and seconds seemed to drag into hours. Third place was announced. It was Yangyang’s team. You let out a small scream and you couldn’t hold back the huge smile that took over your face. He did it. The idiot did it. As they raised their trophy, your eyes filled with tears. It felt like your own win.
It was time to announce first place. You took a deep breath. It wouldn’t be you. You had settled within your heart that this wasn’t a winning day and it was okay.
The envelope was opened and the name was called. Your group’s name. Your groups name. You’d won. You were pushed in a sweaty and smelly group hug, as tears left your eyes. You were full on sobbing as you saw the trophy being pushed from hand to hand until you were holding it.
First place. It felt like a dream. Your mind was hazy as the team that ranked second, the “stars” like you had named them, gave their speech. And it was over.
The crowd flowed on stage, loved ones finding loved ones and hugs being exchanged everyone. You stood frozen in the back of the stage. First place.
Your name was called from somewhere. Your mind registered it, but your body failed to move at the sound.
“Y/N!” You heard again, and finally your head moved towards the sound.
Jaemin ran over you, arms extended. He lifted you up screaming in your ear.
“FIRST PLACE! Y/N OH MY GOD, I CAN’T BELIEVE IT, YOU DID IT”
His loud voice quieted down to a whisper as you sobbed silently into his shirt. Low words of praise filled your ears as several pairs of arms rubbed your back, trying to calm you down. You grabbed fistfuls of Jaemin’s shirt in an attempt to ground yourself, burying your face in the crook of his neck.
After a while, you were finally able to move away from him and into the rest of the boys’ arms.
“Oh, your little cry baby” Renjun said, hugging you tightly.
“Good luck charm worked” Jeno said, giving you his signature eye smile and keeping you close.
“You were amazing up there” Donghyuck said and hugged you tightly. You felt dizzy again. Your mind finally decided to start working, only to note that he smelled like the sea.
“Y/N! There you are!” Yangyang shouted, running up to you, Cat and Elena not far behind him.
You jumped onto him without second thought, screaming.
“YANGYANG! YOU DID THAT! I, I’M, OH MY GOD, I’M SO PROUD OF YOU” you screamed, squeezing him tight.
“ME? FORGET ABOUT ME YOU IDIOT, YOU GOT FIRST PLACE! I CAN’T BELIEVE IT!!! Y/N YOU GOT F I R S T” Yangyang screamed back.
You went over each of your steps, each praising the other.
“Although I love the spirit” Renjun interrupted, “Wouldn’t you want to celebrate somewhere more private?”
“Re- group for burgers downtown?” Jeno offered.
Everyone quickly agreed and you went backstage to change. Your dad picked you and Elena up, driving you back home for a quick shower and change of clothes. You headed downtown and met the boys in front of your favourite burger place.
The night was easy going, a celebration with the people that mattered the most to you. Squeezed in the booth between Donghyuck and Yangyang, you laughed and enjoyed your food. All your senses were heightened to Donghyuck moving and laughing next to you. You tried to take your mind away from him, but your gaze would always go to your right, where Donghyuck was usually looking right back at you.
That night, you hardly got any sleep despite being tucked inside your warm covers. Your mind was replaying the events of the day in an endless loop, the high of being on stage, the thrill of coming first, being in Donghyuck’s arms, the way the area around his eyes creased when he laughed.
You were going crazy. There was no other word for it. You were going crazy over a boy that only recently stopped hating your existence. Great. You were screwed.

Tumblr media
Studio Leaders and Filmmakers from Lucasfilm, Marvel Studios, Disney Live Action, Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios Reveal New Details, Introduce Major Stars and Host a Stunning Performance at Ultimate Disney Fan Event
ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Walt Disney Studios—including studio leaders and filmmakers from Lucasfilm, Marvel Studios, Disney live action, Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios—wowed an audience of nearly 7,000 this morning at D23 Expo 2019 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. Alan Horn, co-chairman and chief creative officer, The Walt Disney Studios—joined by Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy, Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige, Disney live action’s Sean Bailey, Pixar’s Pete Docter and Disney Animation’s Jennifer Lee—offered guests a captivating look at Disney’s upcoming film slate, including never-before-seen footage and a host of stars, plus a spectacular performance from “Frozen 2” voice cast members Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad.
“You’re not just fans, you’re family,” said Horn to the packed room. “It’s because of you that we keep working so hard to make great movies, and we love D23 Expo because it’s where we can share them with you first.”
The presentation included the following highlights.
LUCASFILM
President of Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy and “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” director/writer/producer J.J. Abrams showcased the riveting conclusion to the Skywalker saga. Kennedy and Abrams revved up the audience, introducing nine stars from the film—many of whom marked this as their first D23 Expo appearance: Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Anthony Daniels, Naomi Ackie, Keri Russell, Joonas Suotamo, Kelly Marie Tran and Billy Dee Williams, plus special appearances from R2-D2, BB-8 and the new droid D-O. A brand-new poster was revealed—and gifted to the entire audience. And all were given a look back at the incredible legacy of Star Wars storytelling and treated to a sneak peek of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” which opens in U.S. theaters on Dec. 20, 2019.
MARVEL STUDIOS
Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, kicked off his presentation with a surprise visit from “Black Panther” director and co-writer Ryan Coogler. Together, they revealed that “Black Panther 2” (working title) will hit U.S. theaters on May 6, 2022.
Feige segued to next year’s “The Eternals,” inviting cast members from the much-anticipated film to the stage: Richard Madden, who portrays the all-powerful Ikaris; Kumail Nanjiani, who plays cosmic-powered Kingo; Lauren Ridloff, who portrays the super-fast Makkari, the first deaf hero in the MCU; Brian Tyree Henry, who plays the intelligent inventor Phastos; Salma Hayek, who plays the wise and spiritual leader Ajak; Lia McHugh, who portrays the eternally young, old-soul Sprite; Don Lee, who plays the powerful Gilgamesh; and Angelina Jolie, who stars as the fierce warrior Thena. Feige revealed concept art images of each character, and announced three new cast members and their characters: Gemma Chan, who plays humankind-loving Sersi; Kit Harington, who was cast as non-Eternal Dane Whitman, and Barry Keoghan, who portrays aloof loner Druig, and was on hand for the event. Directed by Chloé Zhao, who helmed the critically acclaimed Sundance film “The Rider,” “The Eternals” opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 6, 2020.
Feige concluded with “Black Widow,” the Cate Shortland-directed first film in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which hits U.S. theaters on May 1, 2020. Feige shared a pre-recorded greeting featuring stars Scarlett Johansson, who reprises her role of Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow; David Harbour, who was cast as Alexei the Red Guardian; and Florence Pugh, who plays Yelena. The audience was also treated to an exclusive look at the upcoming film.
DISNEY LIVE ACTION
Sean Bailey, president, Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, took the audience through upcoming releases for the studio, including next summer’s “Jungle Cruise,” a rousing adventure inspired by the classic theme-park attraction. Star Dwayne Johnson, who plays riverboat captain Frank Wolff, entered Hall D23 aboard an original Jungle Cruise boat, introducing a “trailer” that showed off his character—so much so, that co-star Emily Blunt, who portrays Dr. Lily Houghton, arrived via classic car to share with fans her own “trailer,” offering a different perspective—Bailey laughingly informed Johnson and Blunt that neither trailer was official. Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” hits U.S. theaters on July 24, 2020.
Bailey welcomed Angelina Jolie back to the stage to present exclusive footage and details about Disney’s “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil,” the exciting follow-up to the hit 2014 film. Maleficent, portrayed by Jolie, and her goddaughter Aurora, played by Elle Fanning, begin to question the complex family ties that bind them as they are pulled in different directions by impending nuptials, unexpected allies and new dark forces at play. Aurora’s imminent marriage to Prince Phillip is cause for celebration—however, Prince Phillip’s mother, Queen Ingrith, portrayed by Michelle Pfeiffer, challenges Maleficent’s role as Aurora’s mother figure. Chiwetel Ejiofor stars as Connal, one of the leaders of the dark fey who becomes Maleficent’s ally. Ejiofor, Pfeiffer and Fanning were all welcomed to the stage by an enthusiastic audience. Directed by Joachim Rønning, who co-helmed 2017’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” arrives in U.S. theaters on Oct. 18, 2019.
Bailey next introduced acclaimed filmmaker Niki Caro, director of “Mulan,” the upcoming live-action reimagining of the 1998 classic animated film. Caro expressed to fans her passion for the project, sharing several minutes of footage from the epic adventure inspired by one of China’s fiercest warriors. In Disney’s “Mulan,” which opens in U.S. theaters on March 27, 2020, the Emperor of China issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army to defend the country from Northern invaders. So, the eldest daughter of an honored but ailing warrior masquerades as a man, transforming into a heroic warrior to ultimately earn her the respect of a grateful nation and a proud father.
Next up, Bailey shared details about “Cruella,” an all-new feature film starring Emma Stone and Emma Thompson. Stone, who plays the iconic “Cruella,” sent D23 Expo fans a greeting from the London-based set with help from a spotted, four-legged co-star. Fans also got a glimpse of an image of Stone in full costume with Cruella’s signature black-and-white hair. Director Craig Gillespie, who helmed “I, Tonya” and “The Finest Hours,” brings “Cruella” to the big screen on May 28, 2021, with a fresh, 1970s, punk-rock approach.
PIXAR ANIMATION STUDIOS
Pixar Animation Studios’ Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter guided the audience through Pixar’s upcoming film slate of originals. Docter began with next summer’s release, “Soul,” which he directs. The film journeys from the streets of New York City to the never-before-seen cosmic realms and “The You Seminar,” the fantastical place where we all discover our unique personalities. Producer Dana Murray, co-director/writer Kemp Powers and writer Mike Jones joined Docter on stage, and together they set up the film for the audience and shared a sneak peek. The team revealed members of the voice cast who joined them on stage, including Ahmir Questlove Thompson, Phylicia Rashad, Daveed Diggs, Tina Fey and Jamie Foxx. Foxx lends his voice to Joe Gardner, a middle-school band teacher whose true passion is playing jazz. Fey plays 22, a soul-in-training who has an unexpected encounter with Joe when he accidentally finds his way to the “You Seminar.” Together, the two are going to find a way to get Joe back to Earth, making him think again about what it truly means to have soul. Filmmakers also revealed that globally renowned musician Jon Batiste will be writing original jazz music for the film, and Oscar®-winners Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (“The Social Network”), from Nine Inch Nails, will compose an original score that will drift between the real and soul worlds. Disney and Pixar’s “Soul” opens in U.S. theaters on June 19, 2020.
Docter next introduced director Dan Scanlon and producer Kori Rae, who shared details and more than ten minutes of exclusive footage from Pixar’s upcoming feature film “Onward.” The movie, which opens in U.S. theaters on March 6, 2020, stars Tom Holland and Chris Pratt as two teenage elf brothers, Ian and Barley Lightfoot, who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left in the world. Set in a modern fantasy world, Disney and Pixar’s “Onward” is inspired by Scanlon’s personal experiences with his brother. Holland, Pratt and Julia Louis-Dreyfus—who voices Mom in the movie—joined the filmmakers on stage—much to the delight of the audience, who all received an exclusive “Onward” poster.
WALT DISNEY ANIMATION STUDIOS
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Chief Creative Officer Jennifer Lee presented an overview of the studio’s next two features, beginning with the Thanksgiving 2020 fantasy-action-adventure, “Raya and the Last Dragon.” Directors Paul Briggs and Dean Wellins (“Big Hero 6,” “Frozen”), producer Osnat Shurer (“Moana”) and writer Adele Lim (“Crazy Rich Asians”) joined Lee on stage to set up the film, which introduces Raya, a lone warrior from the fantasy kingdom of Kumandra who teams up with a crew of misfits in her quest to find the Last Dragon and bring light and unity back to their world. The D23 Expo crowd was the first to get a look at the new film, viewing an exclusive three-minute piece. They also met two newly announced members of the voice cast: Awkwafina lends her voice to Sisu, the Last Dragon, who was left on Earth in case dark forces return to the world, and Cassie Steele voices the lead character, Raya. Exploring themes of community and hope, and inspired by the beautiful and diverse cultures of Southeast Asia, the fantasy-action-adventure “Raya and the Last Dragon” opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 25, 2020.
Lee, who directs “Frozen 2” with Chris Buck, and wrote the screenplay, invited Buck to join her on stage as the Oscar®-winning duo revealed new details about the upcoming film, which opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 22. Lee and Buck introduced two new “Frozen 2” cast members: Sterling K. Brown, who voices Lieutenant Destin Mattias, and Evan Rachel Wood, who voices Queen Iduna, Anna and Elsa’s mother. The crowd—who received an exclusive D23 Expo “Frozen 2” poster—saw never-before-seen footage of the new characters, including a scene that featured Wood as Iduna singing to young Elsa and Anna. The song, “All Is Found,” is one of seven all-new original songs by Oscar®-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. The audience also saw a sequence from the movie that showcased Elsa’s yearning for answers about the past, culminating in another song, “Into the Unknown.” And a climactic performance of the song “Some Things Never Change” by Menzel, Bell, Groff and Gad brought the audience to its feet, capping off the studio presentation in extraordinary style.

What if? Sims OC Tag
Chosen OC: Laney Kerrigan
You can find the story here: Life and Times | Pastel Pink | Charcoal Grey
I was tagged by @dinaswimmer and @lovelychooser three years ago, and pestered by @pixeltrashcan. This is the only Laney you’re getting for a LONG time heaux.
WHAT
What is your character’s favorite memory?: Okay, one, you can not have a favorite memory, come on. This question is terrible. Anyways, I would say that the thing she loves most about growing up was how incredibly close her family was (her mom, dad, and her). They would spend the summers at the family cabin, and so she learned to like being on the water. She liked those trips the most, making pie iron pies with her mom and listening to her dad tell her stories he ripped off Unsolved Mysteries about Big Foot and Skunkape.
Who and what would your character give their life for?: She would sacrifice a lot for anybody she cares about, even though she’s never really been tested. So, I think the list would be long. Laney does a lot of hurting people childishly, but if she could look past her own selfishness she’d realize how much those people mean to her. So, her parents, Scotti, Klein, Isla :)
What is your character’s greatest fear?: Being alone. And, coincidentally, being in charge of her own life, because she is afraid of responsibility.
What is your character’s proudest accomplishment?: To date, getting a publishing contract for her first manuscript.
What is your character’s #1 insecurity?: Her lack of self-confidence, which in turns makes her fear every decision she has to make. She’s constantly afraid that she’s making the wrong move, or saying the wrong thing.
What will/can break your character completely?: Oh, I mean, a lot of things? She just doesn’t fucking know it yet? Her first big break came when she realized how her poor decision making came to hurt other people. It totally destroyed her confidence. I wouldn’t say that her confidence is gone, per se, it’s just kind of laying dormant, and she doesn’t remember how to wake it up (or she’s too afraid to). Right now, she would get pretty broken if a certain someone were to leave her completely, but for all the wrong reasons.
What would your character make a scene in public about?: Generally anything. The high price of cupcakes, lack of Toaster Strudels at Kroger, Peter Pan Peanut Butter Alerts, Pixar Same-Facing. You know, worldly problems.
What can drive your character to do criminal acts?: I don’t know. I think her moral compass is too overclocked right now.
What Pet (mythical or not) would your character want to have?: Unicorn. Mermaid. Probably the unicorn though, because she’d want to ride it. But maybe the mermaid, because those seem pretty self-sufficient, but I think maybe that’s also called slavery. So, we’ll go with the unicorn.
What is the cutest thing your character has ever done?: Um? This is Laney. How about the LEAST CUTEST THING SHE’S EVER DONE. We all know what that fucking was.
HOW
How does your character feel about sexual intercourse?: I’ve always thought that Laney spent the majority of her adult life snickering behind her hand at the mention of human genitalia, and using sex scenes in movies as prime opportunities to refill her snacks. Laney in a relationship was actually pretty gung ho about it, but that has mostly changed. Now it’s something she does but doesn’t talk about.
How close is your character with family and friends?: Super close. Uber close. Her parents are her biggest support system, and she loves her best friends more than anything.
How does your character react to pressure?: Quite literally emotionally collapses.
How religious is your character (if they believe)?: She doesn’t think too much about it. She’s not religious, but she is spiritual in the sense that she believes there’s someone watching over us, she’s just not sure who or what and she doesn’t mind, but she does find comfort in them.
How does your character’s personality change when someone gets uncomfortably close (relationship wise)?: She thinks she’s figured this problem out by keeping relationships in boxes, and only poking enough holes so that they can breathe, but very much is forcing that relationship to behave the way she wants it to, and when that doesn’t work out, she gets really anxious. I’d say her personality changes big time. She’s pretty smothering, and kind of like one of those mean neighborhood kids that stands at one end of a garden hose and makes a big kink, and just waits for some unsuspecting creature to come along to fall for her trick.
How does your character’s living space correlate with their personality?: I think it’s a pretty good reflection of who she is deep down, when it’s not covered up with noxious behaviors and self-loathing. It’s cluttered, kind of dusty, and cute, but mostly it’s a giant collective of all the things she loves and all the experiences she’s gathered.
How well does your character act around with unknown and different people?: She’s fine, mostly. Her social awkwardness covers up the fact that she gets uncomfortable, because she’s pretty good at making other people just as uncomfortable as her.
How much does your character value money?: She doesn’t, really.
How would this character cope with losing someone extremely close to them? I would really hate to see this. I think Laney is at a point in her life where if something like that happened, she could never come back from it.
How long does it take for your character to trust others? That depends. If it’s like a business or professional setting, then it’s a much lower threshold. I still think she’s too trusting in general.
SCENARIOS
If your character could change one thing about themselves, what would they want to change?: Her inner strength. I think she does really want to get back to a place where she’s okay relying on herself. She’s always looked up to her mother and Scotti, and women who are sort of “one woman armies”. There was a time she thought she was like that, but it wasn’t the person she was meant to be. Now she’d be happy with being a quarter of that.
If your character could go back in time at any point in their life, what would they do to change the present?: I think the single most important moment for her, was when she started working at the Weekly. It symbolizes when she stopped doing things for herself, and lost control of her life. If she could go back in time, she would have skipped the whole city living chapter and gone straight for following her heart, and done the Sims of San Myshuno project straight out of college.
If your character was given a chance at fulfilling their dream, can they drop everything they have now to go pursue it?: Yeah, she did that already.
If your character’s current spouse or partner cheated, would they try to make it work or leave forever?: Right now, she forgives her “current partner” for a lot of things. They’re non-exclusive, so I guess the cheating part is just emotional, but I’m pretty sure Klein could commit murder and she’d still wash the blood off his knuckles. Desperation is very motivating. In a hypothetical future sense where she was in a healthy relationship? Yeah. She’d probably try to work it out, only because she was the one to cheat, once, and she has to believe that cheaters can be forgiven, and also because a small part of her would think she deserved it.
If a zombie apocalypse begun in the town your character currently lives in, what would they act like?: She’d go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for it all to blow over.
What if your character suddenly woke up to an unfamiliar place, and realize the life they lived was all a dream. Their family, friends, home.. all gone but still crazily vivid in their head. How would they react?: Well, she’d be really sad? I have no idea LOL. How could anyone react to this. She’d put on a fucking trench coat and find the nearest operator.
If your character was thrown in jail, what would they be guilty of?: Creating a public disturbance.
Rewind 10 years from now, what is your character currently doing?: Finally comfortable with herself after years of bullying in school, she’s just managed to eek out of her awkward phase, lose the braces, embrace the glasses, and fashion, and will soon be graduating top of her senior class.
Your character is in the movie SAW, facing their worst fear. What is that fear, and how does he/she react?: She’s in a room full of shelves filled with those unsightly Victorian porcelain dolls and they all have voice boxes. Cue The Joker-esque transformation.
We regret to inform you that your character is dead. Where do they end up? Heaven? Hell? And how the heck do they react?: She’s stuck somewhere in regretful purgatory where she gets to sit, confused, drifting between hysterical laughter and uncontrollable sobbing for the rest of eternity.
I’m tagging no one because this meme is super old and I don’t even know. It took me like an hour so I’m not going to submit others to this torture. I hope you’re happy, Nicole. You better read every fucking word, too. I’ll know if you’re lying. Pop quiz at 8PM sharp.

Based on this post.
Another sleepless night, another baby crying, another empty milk bottle. That was their life now, and although Dean missed getting his four hours of sleep, he was absolutely happy with his family.
“I wish you would learn how to sleep for the whole night without waking up.” Dean mumbled to the tiny baby in his arms. “Now keep it down or you’ll wake your brother up.” The second baby, on his crib, started crying a second after Dean pronounced those words. “Too late.”
He was huge in comparison to them, so he had learned how to carry both at the same time. “Look at you, aren’t you cute?” (Y/N) joked as she entered the room with two recently made milk bottles.
Dean blushed at her compliment and inclined so (Y/N) could carry one of them at the same time she handed him one of the bottles. Both babies cried louder.
“Change, change.” Dean chanted and so they exchanged babies. They stopped crying instantly. “I swear to God, this two are a pain in the ass.” And spite of his words, Dean smiled lovingly at them.
It had been fast. No planning, no second guessing, no chance of changing their minds. She had gotten pregnant during the Apocalypse, and although he had bigger problems, Dean made sure his priority was to a) keep his girl and baby safe and b) to stop the Apocalypse so that they could live in peace.
Then they found out it wasn’t just one baby but two. Dean couldn’t help but to exclaim an “I knew it!” because he was pretty positive no three-month pregnant woman would have such a big belly. Then his overprotectiveness shocked him.
“Remember when we found out they were two little buggers and not just one?” Dean chuckled as the baby fell asleep on his arms.
“Oh yeah, you almost faint.” She remembered tenderly, “I remember you saying you knew it and doing that ridiculous dance…”
“You mean this one?” Dean wiggled his hips and shrugged his shoulders at the same time with the baby still in hands. (Y/N) laughed for a second, before shutting up so they babies could sleep. “It still cracks you up.”
(Y/N) replied with a big grin rather than words. “You went full Marlin on them.”
Dean shrugged at her reference until he recognized it from Finding Nemo. It was impressive how his whole life had been based on teenagers/grown-up movies and now he watched Disney and Pixar films during his free time.
“I wasn’t overprotective.” Dean shrugged his nose.
“No, you still are.” (Y/N) giggled softly.
Not only did he have to take care of (Y/N) and one baby, but two of them. And even though they were both at the same place inside (Y/N), Dean felt like the safety measures he took were enough for three and not two.
“I remember your face the first time they kicked.” (Y/N) continued.
“I remember your face.” He replied, “Your mouth when like ‘ooooow’ and you went back to bed.” He laughed.
“I dare you to get these two to kick your insides at the same time, see who makes the funniest face?” (Y/N) dared jokingly.
“Oh no, they kicked me this afternoon when I was trying to change their diapers while you were at the hospital.” Dean confessed happily, “If they kick-ass like that when they grow up… I don’t think we’ll have to worry about our life to come after them.”
(Y/N) chuckled. Of course she didn’t want them to become hunters, but they had agreed to let them choose. “Why didn’t you ask Sam for help?”
When Sam jumped to the cage with Lucifer and Michael, Dean found relief in his new little family. (Y/N) gave birth a bit after, so Dean didn’t have much time to grieve for he was too busy changing diapers and feeding the kids.
(Y/N) had to leave the hunting life, obviously, so she finished her uncompleted medical career – interrupted by a ghoul hiding at the college’s campus – and started working at a tiny hospital in Kansas that eventually grew bigger.
They started living at a small house. Dean worked as a mechanic and (Y/N) as the doctor, and they felt like their life was becoming more and more normal until Sam came back and the hunting life chased them.
“He was doing research about this odd case in Alabama…” Dean explained, “Besides; my babies, their dirty diapers, my responsibility.”
“It wouldn’t kill you to ask for help.” (Y/N) commented.
“I can deal with them.” Dean insisted, “Look, they are so tiny… And I’m sure they will be obedient when they grow up.”
“Like you and Sam?” (Y/N) lifted an eyebrow.
“Like me and a double me.” Dean corrected, “I was an obedient kid.”
“More like a mini-soldier, I would say.” Dean chuckled slightly.
“Whatever, it will be easier when they grow up.” Dean said, but it sounded like he wanted to convince himself more than convincing (Y/N).
But they stuck together and overcame every obstacle that the life sent them.
“I think they’re already asleep.” (Y/N) whispered. Dean checked his baby and nodded. “Let’s put them back on their crib.”
“Goodnight, fellas.” Dean whispered as each placed the babies in their respective cribs.
“They are so cute.” (Y/N) sighed.
“Cute as buttons.” Dean agreed and bopped her nose. “Just like their mom.”
“They look a lot like you, though.” (Y/N) commented, looking up at Dean.
“Those lucky bastards…” Dean joked and (Y/N) giggled. “Shhh….”
“Sorry, sorry.” Dean pecked her forehead as they both admired their little beauties. They were cheeky, with big green eyes and ashy blond hairs growing slowly in their heads. They were easy to make laugh, and they were constantly moving and kicking and doing strange faces… They were a full show to watch.
“Are you tired?” He asked her in a whisper. (Y/N) nodded, Dean wrapped his arms around her, kissing her face multiple times as he lifted her from the floor. “One more baby to get in bed.” He joked.
“Shhh…” She shushed him as she tried to hide her own laughter. She was the luckiest woman on Earth, in spite of it all; in spite of the many difficult years to come.
Dean got her in bed and joined her soon after. She nuzzled on his chest and he wrapped his strong arms securely around her waist. And just when they were drifting off to sleep, one of the two chipmunks cried again.
“For the love of…!” Dean pressed a finger over her lips.
“Sleep, I’ll take charge of them.”

COMMON SENSE BOX OFFICE ANALYSIS 6/16 - 6/18
CARS drive the weekend, but Shakur pic draws many EYEZ.
CARS 3
Opened to a solid but unspectacular $53.7M, providing the biggest animated opening so far of 2017, but dropping about $10M from the previous two CARS debuts.
Why?
This one fell directly in the center of expectations.  The CARS series has always been the black sheep of the Pixar family.  The 2006 original was the first Pixar film to garner its share of truly middling reviews, and the much-maligned creative misstep that was CARS 2 (the first film was about preserving history and embracing old fashioned Americana, and the second film was a...spy spoof starring Mater?) soiled folks on the franchise.  Add to that the public disclosure that the CARS franchise was Pixar’s top merchandising moneymaker (especially among small children), and the series was forever tarnished with the stink of capitalism over creativity.  The announcement of a third film was met with eye rolls and loud groans from Pixar’s adult fans, as it seemed to stand for the ultimate in “we didn’t ask for this.”  Add to that middling reviews that touted it as an improvement over Part 2, but still not worthy of Pixar’s higher standard.  So with so much negativity (and/or indifference) for the franchise, an opening weekend drop from the previous installments ($60M and $66M, respectively) was to be expected.
So why didn’t it go even lower?  THE GOOD DINOSAUR opened at $40M (proving the Pixar brand doesn’t GUARANTEE huge openings), so it stands to reason that CARS 3 could have followed the trend of underperforming summer franchise pictures and wandered in closer to $30-40M.  But that’s where the merchandising angle comes in.  As much as CARS is a shrug for adult Pixar fans, the franchise is hugely popular with kids.  And with a G rating, the Pixar name, and a return to a story focused around Lightning McQueen instead of Mater, families filled the seats, offsetting the inevitable drop.  I would gather that it is unlikely we will see a CARS 4 (also a longshot that this film will even match CARS 2’s $191M domestic gross), but the fact that this one didn’t outright BOMB makes it seem that there may be some gas left in the tank, and the franchise will likely live on in some form or another.
ALL EYEZ ON ME
Outperformed even the most optimistic expectations with an impressive $26.4M debut.
Why?
Two words: Tupac Shakur.  Three more words:  STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON.  The life of the prolific and beloved artist has taken on a near mythic reputation in recent years, with Elvis-like sightings (“He’s not really dead!”) to controversy (his holographic “performance” at Coachella in 2012), to seemingly never ending merchandising (unreleased performances and unfinished albums continue to pop up), so it was clear that the market was hungry for a biopic.  And with the incredible success of STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON in 2015, this film had potential, especially as effective counter programming at the start of summer, during a weekend that saw films catering to primarily kids and women.  So with all that going for it, why didn’t it even open higher?  After all, COMPTON pulled in $60M during its opening weekend...
Marketing was low as compared to COMPTON - not too much was done to reach out beyond Shakur’s heavily black, male fan base.  Also unlike COMPTON, which had producer (and one of the subjects of the film) Ice Cube promoting it at every possible opportunity, EYEZ was marred with many of the film’s living subjects keeping their distance from it, with others (Jada Pinkett Smith in particular) actively speaking out against the film’s creative validity.  Finally, a Rotten Tomatoes score of 23% didn’t help sway anyone on the fence, and couldn’t compete with COMPTON’s 87%, which ended up leading to multiple end of the year awards and Top Ten lists.  Fans clearly wanted to see EYEZ, and they showed up - but the mediocre buzz kept it from going as high as it could have.  Next week’s hold will show us if the film has $100M potential (unlikely), or if it will top out around $60M - still turning a profit, but not shaking the marketplace.
47 METERS DOWN
Inexpensive indie shark movie did just fine with $11M - unspectacular, but not a bomb.
Why?
Not much to say about this one - expectations were low, as the film featured no bankable stars (sorry Claire Holt, Matthew Modine and Mandy Moore) and little selling it beyond “Hey, remember THE SHALLOWS last year?  You like sharks, right?”  The fact that it still found its way to $11M means the horror community was hungry for more water-based thrills, and the effective low key marketing (prominent standees in theaters for a little-promoted film has a sneaky way of suggesting a potential sleeper hit) did its job.  Still, there’s not much heat on the film, and it should drift away shortly, turning a comfortable profit on its $12M budget.
ROUGH NIGHT
With an bomb-tastic $8M opening, the title-based puns write themselves for this one.
Why?
Chalk this one up to a confused marketing campaign, and the continued success of WONDER WOMAN.  Everything was just a mess: the print campaign centered around Scarlett Johansson, but the trailers seemed to hide from her - focusing mainly on the supporting cast.  The ads pushed it as a younger BAD MOMS-meets-THE HANGOVER, but there was no specific sellable plot element outside of Kate McKinnon’s confusing and unfunny Australian accent, and the unpleasant suggestion of jokes surrounding a dead stripper.  A heavily advertise, and similarly themed film (with a funnier trailer) called GIRLS TRIP opens in a month, adding confusion to the mix.  The confusion obviously hurt ROUGH, but it should benefit GIRLS, which now has a full month to distinguish and distance itself.  Mediocre reviews were the final straw - like BAYWATCH, if comedies have have an “unfunny” stink about them, people stay away.  Movie prices are too high these days to pay for something that will play better on TV if word of mouth is bad.
The WONDER WOMAN factor might have played into ROUGH’s weekend too.  The super-sized super hero hit had a huge $41M third weekend, and it’s safe to say that in this summer of massive female strength & empowerment on the big screen, the film’s target audience (women) wouldn’t necessarily be inclined to spend 2 hours with a bachelorette party gone wrong due to drugs, panic and manufactured lunacy.
That’s it for this week - next week we see how a 5th TRANSFORMERS film plays as the only new release in town.

Time Traveling
The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. - Proverbs 16:9
Monday, February 13th
I’m on my way to JFK airport to meet up with the rest of my group. Today, the 15 of us will fly out to Melbourne, with a stopover at LAX. We were supposed to leave yesterday, but our flight was cancelled due to plane engine issues. I’m actually grateful for the extra day of relaxation before running a travel marathon. I’m not nervous or overly excited. With all the craziness of the past week of planning and packing, I’m just numb to all those emotions. I’ve said my goodbyes, I’ve enjoyed my overly long break, and at this point, I’m just ready to go.
My mom is driving us through Queens. We pass highway signs for Coney Island, Far Rockaway, Brighton Beach. Places I’ve only seen from the passenger side window. We’re almost there. I feel my last moments slipping away. As we pull up to the airport, I feel a knot in my stomach. The same one I felt on my first day of middle school, high school, and college. I know that soon I’ll have to leave behind my comfort zone and step into the unknown.
Wednesday, February 15th
Greetings from the future! We’ve just arrived in Melbourne, and it hasn’t hit me yet that I’m actually here. The 6 hour plane ride to LAX was tolerable, but the 18 hour flight to Melbourne was kind of a nightmare. I’m not usually afraid of flying, but the idea of being trapped in an aircraft for almost a full day was giving me anxiety. It didn’t help that there was limited leg room and a screaming baby on board. The saving grace of the flight was the large selection of tv shows and complimentary wine. I plugged in my headphones and tried to drown out my surroundings. Two Pixar movies, and an entire season of It’s Always Sunny later, I drifted into a not-so-comfortable slumber. When I awoke, there were only two hours until landing. I wasn’t trying to keep track of time during the flight, because time didn’t really exist up there. We actually skipped over Valentine’s Day entirely (thanks to the International Dateline) and the time difference put us 16 hours ahead of home. It’s the closest you can get to time traveling.
We stepped off of the plane into the dry heat, shedding our winter coats. I could spot palm trees in the distance. We grabbed our bags and jumped in line to go through customs. We weaved in and out of crowds with our bulky luggage trolleys, making small talk with other travelers while we waited. We boarded our shuttle bus and finally, we were on our way to La Trobe University, our home for the next 5 months.
I do not know what these next few months have in store for me, and maybe it’s better to go into this without a plan. Whenever I feel anxious or uncertain about the future, I remind myself to trust in God. Because no matter what I have planned, His plan for me is infinitely greater. I can’t see the future, and I don’t know exactly what lies ahead, but I know that He will be with me every step of the way.
