I am amending it — there are a few shows where 10 episodes is acceptable. But the platonic ideal is Nothing less than 12 episodes with a maximum of 18 episodes at most.
Enough for episodic case of the week, with breathing room for character dynamics and development and a season long arc.
Episodic and a little serialized but not TOO serialized.
Serialized enough that there’s emotional and character continuity.
That’s the dream.
Also, ideal season length would be 5-6 seasons.
It used to be Star Trek had 7 seasons per show until Star Trek Enterprise got cancelled in season 4.
If we can’t get 7 seasons anymore, and why not!!! I would love a Trek show to reach at least 5 seasons and a movie.

If you put gifs that spoil the latest episode of a tv show right after it came out, you're a piece of shit!

"why should I get invested in shows if they'll just get canceled" I was deeply invested in Heroes (2006) and it was not canceled, it just got really terrible. I also got really invested in the sandwich I had a few weeks ago despite it only lasting like 15 minutes. You must embrace the ephemeral. You must be willing to love things that may not love you back, that might betray you, or that may die an untimely death. As the great philosopher Mr. Mitchell Lee Hedberg said "I'm not gonna stop doing something because of what happens at the end."

this scene is sooo important to me like the first time percy sees his dad and its him saving his life? surrendering to his brother just to protect his son? they captured this scene so well.

I just realized the PJO show runners could do something so sick and twisted and amazing during the Circe scene.
What if, the image that Percy sees in the mirror, the “cooler” version of himself, is like book accurate Percy. I just think that would be such a funny, messed up little Easter egg.

See THIS is why I trust the writers because the whole point of the deadline passing was so we could SEE Poseidon surrendering for Percy. The show has given Poseidon a more active and loving role in Percys life. The gods pride would never let them surrender to one another. But Poseidon knew his brother wouldn’t spare his son’s life. And he knew the only thing that would spare his son’s life was him surrendering. ALSO FURTHER CEMENTING THAT PERCY IS HIS FAVORITE CHILD! The writers pens this episode>>>

the way that luke tried so hard to get percy to join him in comparison to him plotting percy’s death via scorpion in the books is tbh so so good for story building. percy doesn’t understand luke’s motivations this early in the story so seeing luke beg percy and try to get him to understand is just so painful and makes the betrayal hit so much harder

percy immediately apologizing to luke after he hurts him even though he is literally being betrayed because his fatal flaw is loyalty and he cannot fathom hurting the people he cares about… meanwhile luke turning around and hitting percy back without hesitation… i feel sick
