Game, Set, Match
Summary: Natasha Romanoff is a professional tennis player, struggling to go back to the top and win the US Open. Reluctant at first, she allows a sports journalist into her life... and a bit more.
Natasha Romanoff x Fem!R - Ya know it, fluffy af.
A/N: I love tennis and this was basically written for me. But @canvascoloredin is also a fan and thought, ok well, let's post it, maybe someone else will enjoy :)
“Thirty all”
She’s catching up, do something.
“Forty, thirty”
“Deuce”
“Come on, Natasha” her sister yells from the box.
Advantage, Romanoff.
Game, set, match. Natasha Romanoff.
Everything that happens after is a blur. Natasha feels like she just played the final, but in reality, it’s just the first round.
“Way to go, darling” her mother compliments when she’s back in the locker rooms, but Fury is quickly behind, not holding back.
“Three sets against an amateur and you won because she got nervous and got a double fault. That’s not good”
“I beat her, didn’t I?” Natasha averts her eyes, putting on her jacket to go to the press room.
“Barely” her trainer mumbles.
Natasha’s heart beats fast as she sits in front of all the journalists. They were warned about the questions they could ask, but still. Natasha feels all eyes on her, judging her reaction and demeanor.
“Did you worry about losing control at the start of the third set?” a man in the front row asks.
“It was the defining moment of the game, so I felt like I had to push myself harder and control the rhythm of the match. Which obviously happened”
“How was it to go back after your break? Unlike other players, you didn’t participate in any tournaments between Wimbledon and this”
“I’ve been playing tennis all my life, really, so it doesn’t feel like a big deal to me. Just because I wasn’t playing to win titles doesn’t mean I didn’t train”
Natasha hears Fury cough and has to resist the urge to roll her eyes.
Control your temper, he’s trying to say.
Well, maybe they shouldn’t ask stupid questions.
--
You’re sitting in the middle of the press room, eyes trained on Natasha. She’s looking anywhere but you.
I guess this means she read my column.
The conference is coming to an end, so you raise your hand and the assistant points at you.
“We have time for one more” he concedes.
“That’s enough for today” Natasha shuts it down before you can ask.
Yeah, she definitely read the article.
Natasha can’t wait to get out of there, thanking the press before sprinting out of the room. You consider following her, but a text from your boss stops you.
Go to LA Stadium, Wanda Maximoff just bageled some poor girl.
With a bit of luck, you’ll get an exclusive with Wanda.

The biggest crime of Shostakov
It was a Tuesday afternoon, well into the second week of Wimbledon, when the news broke out. Alexei Shostakov, retired tennis player, was arrested for fraud and tax evasion. While in custody, it was discovered Shostakov was in possession of drugs.
The famous Red Guardian, who once had won on that very same club, was now dragged away in a patrol car, stripped of his days of glory. For people who are well versed in the history of tennis, this doesn’t come as a complete shock. Shostakov was a notorious trouble maker, often breaking rackets, ripping his shirts open and getting expelled from a total of 15 matches during the entire run of his career.
No one seemed more affected by the news than his protegee and adoptive daughter, Natasha Romanoff. The favorite to win the world’s most important Grand Slam retired amid the breaking news. As a result, Wanda Maximoff’s path to the trophy was an easy one, taking the number 1 from Romanoff while she was at it.
If her career depends on Alexei’s ability to get back on his feet, Natasha Romanoff should retire now.
In her best form, Romanoff is stealthy, precise and absolutely lethal. Her movements reminisce those of a ballerina; one that gracefully dances across the court -doesn’t matter if it’s grass, clay or hard- to deliver blow after blow of brilliance. Natasha has raw talent, pure heart and an unbreakable spirit.
The biggest crime of Shostakov, is that he’s in the way of her greatness. Maybe it’s his ego or a compulsion to attach himself to a woman who has the capacity to break every record from the Open Era.
Whatever the reason, it’s clear she’s better off without him. For those of us who love this sport, and want Natasha to be the champion she was meant to be, this is an unique opportunity to watch her finally emerge from the shadows of the overbearing man.
The proverbial ball is in Romanoff’s court. In all her brilliance, the one thing Natasha rarely does is take risks.
It’s never too late to start.
--
“We’re finishing the second day of the US Open and we have some major upsets. Carol Danvers, number 3 in the world and only American in the top ten lost to Brit Peggy Carter” you say, holding the mic and looking at the camera.
“I understand there was some excitement on the man’s singles” you hear Maria say on your earpiece and you nod.
“Queens had a face off with Brooklyn today. Bucky Barnes defeated amateur Peter Parker, but get this! They played five sets, and Peter won every tiebreak. So it seems like we have some exciting new talent”
“We’ll keep an eye on him, for sure. Thanks for the report, Y/N!”
“A pleasure as usual, Maria. Greetings to everyone back on the studio”
“And cut” Darcy, your producer says. You remove the earpiece and hand over the mic. As you turn around, you spot Natasha training. It’s obvious you’re staring when Darcy speaks.
“You didn’t do anything wrong, you know? You wrote what a lot of people were thinking”
“Well, seems like she doesn’t wanna hear it”
“It’s fine. I mean, it would be better if we could get a quote from her or an interview but if she hates you that much we can get someone else to do it”
“Or, I could go and try to talk to her?”
“So you have a death wish!”
“Didn’t you just say I did nothing wrong?”
“Yes, but that doesn’t mean she’ll listen. I am also legally obligated to tell you that your health insurance doesn’t cover injuries caused by tennis balls. Or rackets”
“Very funny”
--
“Relax your wrist” Fury instructs once again and Natasha ignores him, as usual.
She hates the press, the interviews, the hoops she has to jump through just so she can play tennis.
None of it is optional and she has to follow the rules, something Natasha is particularly bad at.
“If you want to move to the next round you’re gonna have to listen to me”
Does she really want to move to the next round? Is there a point to all of this? She had lost her number one ranking and people were focusing more on her private life than her career.
Fury spots you across the court and smiles.
You nod your head towards the man and he sighs, defeated.
“Can you talk some sense into her?”
“Can anyone?” you say and he pats you on the back, leaving the court. The sun is setting and people are going home, ready to return tomorrow to watch the next round of players. You greet Natasha but she ignores you.
“You owe me a question” you try to joke, as she keeps hitting the ball so hard you think her racket will break in half.
“I know who you are and I’m not talking to you”
She looks hot when she’s pissed.
You push those thoughts away.
“Natasha”
“No, you and I are not on a first name basis. Not after you wrote all that crap about me without knowing me”
“I only spoke the truth”
“That my career is doomed and I should retire?” she finally stops throwing balls across the court and turns to look at you.
“Oh, my God! You didn’t even read it, did you?”
“I don’t need to. I know what everyone's been saying ever since Alexei was arrested. I know he was unconventional, but he was my trainer. He was beside me through the good and bad”
“I get it, ok? He’s your family. And your trainer. That’s never easy and I understand how it can be hard to see things objectively. But,  Natasha, you are great in spite of him, not because of him”
That makes her pause.
“Nick Fury came out of retirement to train you. That’s how talented you are!”
The redhead serves a couple of times, staying completely silent.
“I’m not talking to you” she reminds you.
“You’re the best player out there, Natasha. And right now you’re the only thing getting in the way of your success”
--
Morning comes and so does the next match. Natasha is looking out the window of the suite, as people come and go around the busy streets of the tennis center.
Fury steps in, immediately aware of her nervous energy. If he asks if she’s ready, she’ll probably rip his head off. So, talking about something different might be the way to go.
“Her father was also a sports journalist,” he says, pouring himself a glass of orange juice.
“Who?”
“Y/N. Richard was a single parent, so he’d always bring her to the games, even as a baby. She behaved better than most people too”
“Is he retired?”
“Nope. Cancer. Four years ago” Fury sits in front of Natasha. “Didn’t expect her to follow his steps, but that girl really knows sports. She’s working with the local station, and also writes for Sports Illustrated”
“What are you trying to say?”
“Never hurts to have a couple of friends around,” he says, sipping from his glass.
“I’m not good at making friends” Natasha looks away.
“Yeah, I know. You’re good at tennis, so…” the man checks his watch and stands up. “Let’s kick some ass”
--
Natasha has to face Kate Bishop, currently ranked 24. Her game is the opposite of aggressive, but she’s famous for her impeccable aim. Natasha has to control the game from the start if she wants to win.
She serves first, and as she bounces the ball, preparing her stance, Fury’s words echo in her head. All the advice he has given her for the past months, advice that she has consistently ignored.
Then, as she throws the ball, her eyes meet yours. You’re sitting in the front row, leaning forward.
In a split second, she makes a decision.
Natasha is ready to take risks.
She aims for the corner of the service box, hoping it will fall inside. Kate lunges forward, shocked at the speed of the ball.
“Ace” the umpire announces. “Fifteen love”
Natasha sees you clapping and can hear Fury shouting “That’s it, you can do this, Romanoff”
And boy, does she deliver. Kate is running across the court. Natasha’s unforced errors are incredibly low. While the crowd usually loves long games, the redhead is a legend and they’re excited to see her prowess first hand.
The game ends in 47 minutes, 6-3, 6-2.
Kate approaches the net and shakes Natasha’s hand.
“That was… incredible, Romanoff”
“Thank you, Kate”
The kind words and the genuine admiration make Natasha relax instantly.
Of course, the crowd goes wild as the redhead lifts her arms, clapping and waving.
She’s in such a good mood that she decides she’ll finally take your question. But as she enters the press room, you’re nowhere to be found.
Still, she chats and even jokes around with the journalists present.
Once again, the entire family celebrates as if Natasha had already won the Grand Slam.
“Seestra, the crowd was going craaaazy, it was like a Taylor Swift concert” Yelena tells her excitedly as they eat. Natasha’s starving, so nervous about today that she didn’t even have breakfast.
They keep chatting, talking about strategy for the next game and wondering who will go against Natasha next.
“Natalia, your father wants to talk to you” Melina interrupts, holding her phone.
“Why?” Natasha snaps, going back to her stoic self.
“He wants to congratulate you,” the woman insists.
“I’m not in the mood. Excuse me” she stands up, losing her appetite.
Out on the terrace, she watches people passing by, trying to think of anything else but Alexei.
Your words come back to her, and she starts to believe them.
You are great in spite of him.
“Hey, there you are!” you shout from the bottom of the stairs, waving. “Do you have a sec?”
Natasha nods, going down.
“First of all, wow. Brava”
“You wanted something?” she rolls her eyes, but you notice she blushes lightly.
It’s quite the view, Natasha’s body covered in sweat from the physical exertion, her sculpted arms in full display.
That tennis outfit looks really good on her.
“Oh.. yeah. Do you, uh, have time to meet a fan? She’s a little girl and you’re her favorite player”
“Of course”
“Awesome, come with me!” you take her by the hand.
Natasha tries to ignore the tingling feeling she gets as she’s dragged around the center. Some people recognise her, but you’re walking fast and they don’t have the chance to stop her for a picture.
“Hey, Ava!” you greet the little girl, who’s holding a big tennis ball and a black marker. “Natasha, meet Ava. She’s your number one fan”
“Hi,” the girl says shyly. She’s about nine, her mother standing next to her and smiling.
“Hi, Ava. It’s so nice to meet you” Natasha greets. “How are you liking the tournament so far?”
“Uh, it was great, and you were so awesome today!”
“Thank you, I really appreciate it. Would you like me to sign that?”
“Yes, please!” her arms shoot forward, anxiously.
“What other players would you like to meet?” Natasha says, as she signs the ball.
“Maybe Peter Parker… We met Carol Danvers, Bucky Barnes and also, Wanda”
Yeah, Natasha didn’t miss the way Maximoff signed the ball.
From the number 1 player to the number 1 fan.
So pretentious.
“That’s nice,” Natasha says, handing the ball back.
“Alright, let’s take a picture” you pull out your phone. Natasha kneels to be closer to Ava, and then places her tennis hat on the girl’s head.
“You can have it” Natasha smiles and is surprised when she gets a very enthusiastic hug. Her mother has to practically drag her away from where you’re standing, Ava turning around every couple of steps to wave at Natasha.
“Thank you, Nat,” you say, smiling.
“It’s not a problem. I didn’t see you in today’s press conference”
“That’s because it’s my day off” you say, surprised that she noticed your absence.
“What about that thing?” she points at the badge hanging from your neck that reads Press.
“That’s how I get in for free, duh”
“Sneaky”
“I can be” you shrug your shoulders and then turn back to your phone. “Hey, so can I send this to your PR team for them to post it?”
“You don’t have to”
“Fine, I’ll post it on my feed and tag you. Alright, gotta go. Have to cheer for Bucky” you say, taking her hand one last time. “Once again, thank you. And congrats. You were fantastic”
“I owe you a question” she calls when you’re walking away.
“I’m saving it for when you win the championship” you wink and she smiles, scratching the side of her neck nervously.
Later that day, her phone is blasting with notifications.
“Almost one million likes, Natasha” Yelena shows her the picture you uploaded of her and Ava.
“Is that good or bad?” the redhead shrugs her shoulders and her sister rolls her eyes.
“You’re so uncool!”
However, she knows enough about Instagram to find your profile, going through your feed. Most of the pictures are from different games, some hangout with friends, the most frequent ones being Barnes and a pro that plays for the Yankees, Sam Wilson.
She’s about to close the app when two things that are equally horrible happen.
First, she likes one of your pictures from two years ago.
Second, she gets a message.
OfficialWandaMaximoff: Congrats on your win today <3
--
Bucky just lost the second set and is down on the third one. You keep refreshing the feed as you wait next to other journalists for Wanda Maximoff.
Of course she’s in the quarter finals, that’s hardly a shock. Everyone’s waiting for her to face Natasha in the finals. When it happens, you’re obviously rooting for Nat.
Speaking of which…
@SportsBrooklyn: Good luck tomorrow!
@NatashaROfficial followed you back
@NatashaROfficial: Do you only use Instagram or can you text like a normal person?
@SportsBrooklyn: Oh, right, text you to the number I don’t have!
Wanda walks in that moment and you lock your phone. Her auburn hair is tied in a high ponytail, and she changed to her signature red windbreaker and black pants.
You’re busy taking notes when your phone pings again. To your surprise, Natasha actually gave you her phone number.
@NatashaROfficial: If you share it with anyone else I’ll choke you
@SportsBrooklyn: Kinky ;)
The press conference ends and you practically sprint out to see if you can catch the rest of Bucky’s game.
You have to settle for the screens on the Champions Bar, comforted by the fact that Bucky seems to be ahead on the third set. As soon as he wins it, you stand up, knowing the break is the perfect time to slip into the player’s box.
“I’m so sorry” you say as you crash into none other than Wanda Maximoff. She grabs your arm to steady herself, smiling to ease you.
“That’s alright. You’re in a hurry?” she says, turning at the screen.
“A bit, yeah”
“I wish someone as cute as you was rooting for me” she smiles, placing a strand of hair behind her ear. She’s flirting? Oh boy. “I noticed you looking at your phone during the press conference. Barnes is a lucky guy”
“Oh, we’re not…”
“Here I was thinking he was smarter than that”
There’s a sense of urgency to go before the break is over, but you’re also completely confused. Why is Wanda Maximoff taking an interest in a local reporter? You’re vaguely aware that her eyes drift somewhere behind you from time to time, but before you can turn and have a look, she pulls your press badge and smiles.
“If you ever want an exclusive, just let me know, Y/N…” she reads the name from your press badge and walks away, leaving you completely confused.
--
Natasha watches the entire interaction from her small table. She needed a break so she decided to put on a hat and glasses, to get a drink without being recognised.
Wanda was all over you, giggling and looking Natasha’s way as much as she could, to let her know this was entirely to upset her.
All Natasha wanted to do was stand up and take you away from Wanda. You were too good for someone like Maximoff.
Wanda thought she was making Natasha jealous.
She was right, but not in the way she would have wanted to.
--
“Maybe it’s time I retire”
“You’re 28”
“Might as well be 100 in tennis years”
“Buck” you nudge him.
You’re looking out the Brooklyn Bridge, trying to cheer up your best friend after losing in the round of 16.
“You won the Australian Open this year”
“Oh, yeah. I forgot about that. See? I’m senile” he mumbles, still grumpy.
“You did great, and you’re still in the top five, Grumpa. Ha! See what I did there?” he rolls his eyes and you smile, pulling him back to the street. “Come on, Sam is waiting for us to have some lunch”
“Ok, but it’s on you because I’ll be broke once I retire”
“Yeah, yeah” you roll your eyes, looping your arms together and dragging him to your favorite dinner. Sam’s already there, chatting around with everyone that recognises him.
All eyes turn to you as he stands up and practically shouts.
“How’s my favorite girl?” Sam greets you and then slaps Bucky’s shoulder. “Don’t make that face, man. You won the aussie one”
“That’s what I told him”
Bucky takes his jacket off and orders a beer as soon as the waiter approaches you; even if it’s only noon, you let it slide.
You get a text from Darcy, asking if you’re watching the game.
Your mind instantly goes to Natasha. Did she lose? No, that can’t be. She was playing against Van Dyne, who was only there because of a wild card. You turn to one of the screens and ask the waiter to change the channel.
“She’s winning” you say, still not understanding what Darcy meant.
“Why does she look so upset, then?” Sam points out.
Natasha is arguing with the umpire. You recognise him immediately.
“I hate that guy,” Bucky says, echoing your thoughts.
“Jarvis… something. Stone?”
“Yeah, a total asshole. Wouldn’t give me a point I clearly won on Wimbledon because the other player was also a Brit”
The argument ends and she keeps playing. Her forehand is killer today.
“Wow” Bucky says at the same time as you gasp.
“Man, I feel so dumb right now” Sam is looking between both of you, not knowing what caused your reaction.
“Just now? It’s more like, always” Bucky teases and Sam glares. He rolls his eyes and points at the screen. “Van Dyne hit after a double bounce. That’s not allowed. But Stone clearly doesn’t give a shit. He’s giving her the point”
“Natasha stopped playing because she saw it. He claims he didn’t so in his mind, she lost this one” you keep explaining.
“If Hope had a little bit of integrity, she’d concede the point or play it again”
“Well, she’s losing so she’ll take all the help she can get” you say.
Natasha’s rage fuels her after this and she ends up winning, the second set a devastating 6-0.
However, the two men on the screen are being unsurprisingly critical of her. Your stomach turns when you hear the words “emotional” and “aggressive” thrown around.
Even if it’s a long shot, you try calling her. Phone’s off.
If you’re lucky, you’ll manage to see her once you get back to the stadium.
--
“Turn it off,” Natasha grumbles. Fury is watching the news in the living room.
“I wanna see the highlights of other players. Prepare for what’s coming next. If you don’t like it, leave the room” he says with a dismissive wave of his hand.
After the game, Natasha did the mandatory press conference, went back to the lockers, destroyed two rackets, took a shower and then looked out the window for the better part of the day.
She wasn’t in the mood to do anything and she didn’t want to turn on her phone. The temptation to read what the press and public had to say about her after today’s argument with the umpire was too big.
“Y/N, how are things at the US Open?” Maria Hill says. The screen splits, your image appearing on the right side.
“Exciting names on both sides for the semis. We have Thor against Banner, and T'Challa faces Namor for a spot in the semis. As for the ladies, Maximoff breezed through the match against Jean Gray”
“Well, I understand Romanoff didn’t have it so easy,” Maria says.
From her seat, Natasha holds her breath. Yelena walks in at that exact moment, watching her sister closely.
“You know, I find it unbelievable that an umpire at the US Open could make such a poor call, not once but twice. First, with the hindrance call against Natasha and then by completely ignoring the double bounce before Van Dyne hit the ball” you say, clearly upset. “We’ve seen time and time again that some umpires are not up to the standards set by Grand Slams. And to my fellow journalists who like to throw around words like emotional, better save that energy for the men that smash their rackets just because they lost a point. As we all saw, Romanoff was in her right to demand fairness and she did it with the utmost respect”
“Yes, I completely agree with you” Maria nods, clearly regretting even asking about it. “Well, let us chat tomorrow after we have the final for the men”
“Of course, Maria,” you nod.
Natasha tries really hard, but she can’t help but smile at your words.
Yelena arches her eyebrows.
Well, this is interesting.
--
Natasha refuses to leave her room, arguing she’s not hungry. Melina, Yelena and Fury leave her alone, but the sudden silence becomes too much. There’s no noise to stop her thoughts from spiraling.
With a sigh, she turns on her phone. Two messages come through.
Y/N: Sorry about today. That umpire sucks :(
Y/N: Bucky hates him too
Next thing she sees is a picture of Bucky and you holding your middle fingers to the screen with Jarvis’ face. Natasha chuckles at that.
She also zooms in, checking that your other hand is very close to Bucky’s. She feels a pang of jealousy that is interrupted by a knock on the door.
“Room service” a strange voice says.
“I didn’t order any..:” she says, but finds you smiling on the other side of the door.
“Gotcha”
“What are you doing here?” the redhead can’t help but smile. You’re wearing a black leather jacket, a white tee and skin tight jeans. She’s torn between admiring your figure and paying attention to what you say next.
“Little bird told me you were very upset and you might need a distraction”
“I’m gonna kill Fury”
“Not Nick. Your sister. And are we gonna find something to eat by standing here or…?”
“I’m not hungry”
“We’re going, Natasha. Go get changed” you push past her, tired of waiting around in the hallway. She’s taken aback by your forwardness. Her mother and sister would usually let her get away with anything.
“Where are we going?” she asks, hoping you won’t go all the way to her room and pick an outfit for her.
“Something casual will do”
She changes as fast as she can, taking her phone and some money with her. You nod approvingly and then open the door, peeking around the hallway.
“This little field trip is not Fury approved so let’s be discreet about it” you inform her, taking her hand to lead the way to the elevator.
“Oh, yeah, this is super discreet” Natasha complains as you lead her to an electrical carriage.
“Have a little fun, why don’t you?” you climb up, offering your hand. She takes and sits next to you. Natasha resists the urge to put a strand of hair behind your ear as you lean forward to give the address.
You feel her eyes on you, so you turn back, smiling and blushing lightly.
It’s a short ride, and soon after you enter a small diner.
“Hey, Y/N” the owner greets you. “My, this must be a special occasion” she leans towards Natasha and whispers. “She’s never brought a girl over”
“Ok, Pat! Natasha is just a friend” you clarify, blushing in the process. Natasha laughs at you.
“Why? She’s pretty. You need to start dating” Pat says, leaving two menus.
“Don’t bother” you stop Natasha as she starts reading it. “She’ll bring us whatever she wants. But it will be worth it, I promise”
“Do you come here often?”
“My dad couldn’t cook if his life depended on it. But he was always good at finding the best spots to eat. So we came here all the time during the US Open and then later when Bucky started training”
Natasha nods and looks away.
“So, you’re not dating Barnes either?” she says, looking anywhere but you. It’s embarrassing how much she cares.
“Uh.. no. He’s like a brother to me. His parents worked a lot so he’d tag along to games with us, and we grew up together” you wait until she turns to look at you. “Can I ask now?”
“Is this off the record?”
“Do you see my press badge anywhere?”
“One never knows with you people”
“Ouch, Natasha” the redhead laughs but you ask anyway. “Are you dating anyone? You’ve never been public about it”
“I’m not, no. I just don’t think I’d be able to find the balance. Between tennis and a partner. And my public and private life”
“Fair enough” you say. Pat approaches with milkshakes, cheeseburgers and fries.
“I hope you girls are hungry”
“Starving”
“Fury’s gonna kill me” Natasha sighs, but then dips a fry in the milkshake and practically moans at the taste.
Your mouth is hanging wide open, and your teeth clash at how fast you shut it when Natasha turns to you.
“You’re right, this is worth it”
The rest of the night is spent eating and talking about everything but tennis. You learn that Natasha likes to bake in her free time, and that Yelena is taking a sabbatical before moving to New York to study at NYU.
After finishing your food, you both agree that walking back will be the best idea.
“I’m so full” you complain as you enter through the back, too scared to be caught by Fury. Natasha walks in the opposite direction of the foyer. “Uh, what are you doing? I don’t want your coach all over my ass if you’re missing”
“Have a little fun, why don’t you?” she echoes your words from before and you have no choice but to follow her. You end up on a tennis court, balls scattered around the floor.
“Do you practice here?”
“If I can’t sleep” Natasha picks up a ball and a racket and hands it to you.
“Can I help you?”
“Play with me”
“I can’t even serve, Natasha”
“Well, would you like to learn?” she says with a smirk and you can’t resist it.
“Fine. But after that, you go back to your room”
“Stance first” Natasha instructs. She corrects your posture and movements a couple of times, inching closer until she’s whispering instructions in your ear. The last thing she does is put her hands over yours to make sure your grip is tight. “Show me what you got”
She steps away and you miss her presence instantly. Trying to remember everything she told you, you toss the ball in the air and swing a little too hard. You trip over your own feet, but Natasha moves forward and catches you before you fall.
“You ok?” she says and you nod.
“How did I do, coach?” you steady yourself, holding her close to you. Your eyes travel to her lips, and you’re both out of breath from laughing.
Neither one can tell who leans first, but the fact is that you do and you discover, with great pleasure and no surprise, that Natasha is an excellent kisser. Her lips are soft against yours and she pulls you closer by your waist.
“Is this a new way of interviewing people, Y/L/N?”
Oh, shit.
You break apart and turn to Fury, who looks very much not impressed.
“The only cardio you’re allowed to do until this slam is over is at the gym, Romanoff. Back to your room, now”
“I’m not a little girl you can boss around,” Natasha protests.
“Come on, you should rest. We’ll talk later” you don’t want her to start arguing with Fury, not now that she’s finally listening to him. Natasha turns to you and nods, squeezing your hand one last time before going back to the hotel.
“I don’t want her distracted,” Fury says and you nod.
“I wasn’t trying to… I won’t get in her way, Nick. I want her to win”
“Glad we understand each other. Now go home”
He turns to leave and you wait for a little bit, trying to calm down after a mindblowing kiss. As you’re about to leave, you spot a yellow bracelet on the ground. You’ve seen Natasha wearing one before, but you’re too scared of Fury to go back now.
Tomorrow will be a new day for all of you.
--
“Keep your leg behind the ball” Fury instructs. Natasha has been listening to every single thing he says.
Yes, she’s nervous about the semis. And Fury’s the only one that can understand the feeling or help her play better.
“I want you focused,” he says as she walks to dry her hands.
“I am”
“You know what I mean” he says and as if on cue, you walk up to the court, waving. Natasha places the racket down and approaches you. “Practice isn’t over, Romanoff!”
“Five minutes” she asks, meeting you on the edge of the court.
“Hi”
“Hi” she says back. Her eyes go down to your lips and your heart flutters.
“Uh, you left… I think this is yours” you remember to speak, showing the yellow bracelet.
“Yes, thank you. Do you mind?” Natasha extends her hand and you put it around her wrist. “Yelena gave it to me before my first match. It’s my lucky charm”
“Well, good thing I saw it”
“Maybe you’ll be my next lucky charm”
“Oh? Am I supposed to be at every game from now on?” you smile, nodding when you’re done with the bracelet.
“I really wanna kiss you” Natasha blurts out and you blush. “But…”
“There are people watching and Fury doesn’t look happy either”
“He never does. Can I call you later?”
“Yes, you definitely can”
You want to kiss her so bad, damn it.
“Come on, go back, before Fury kicks me out of the court”
Natasha nods, squeezing your hand gently.
The way Natasha looks at you makes you all kinds of flustered, so you leave in a hurry before your desire takes over and you end up kissing her in front of all these people.
Once again, you run into Wanda Maximoff, only this time she doesn’t smile at all.
“She’s quite the player, right?” she says with a cold voice, her accent a bit thicker.
“Uh- yes. Natasha is a very talented pro”
“Oh, that’s not what I meant” she takes a step forward and looks you up and down. “Natasha likes to fuck around. But she always comes back to me”
“You’re… together?” your heart drops. Natasha wouldn’t lie to you about this.
Would she?
“Look, of course she wants to get distracted and she’ll use anyone that is dumb enough to fall for it. But don’t forget, she and I have history. And that’s stronger than whatever it is you think you have with Natasha”
No one is around to save you from this horrible conversation. You don’t want to argue with Wanda, because you’re still a journalist and it’s your job to be on the players’ good side.
But the reckless part of you wants to tell her to fuck off.
You sigh and look down. Wanda takes this as a sign of defeat and smiles, leaving you standing there.
It takes a minute for you to snap out of it, and you look around, desperate to walk away from everything that just happened.
“You’re seriously telling me you know nothing?” you ask Bucky for the tenth time.
“I don’t pay attention to rumors” he shrugs his shoulders, and you roll your eyes at him.
He’s sitting on your couch, the movie long forgotten. You nudge him with your foot and glare.
“Your best friend is a journalist, you should know better. You’re my insider into this crap”
“I’m sorry, Y/N. I’m just not on the loop of who dates who on the women’s side. But I am not surprised Wanda scared you. Heard she can be batshit crazy”
“She didn’t scare me” you mumble. The both of you sit in silence for a while, until your phones ping simultaneuosly.
Thankfully, it’s not Nat. Right now, you don’t even know what to say to her.
“Sam. Probably to brag about his date in that fancy restaurant” Bucky tells you, but his eyes widen as he reads the message. “Wow. You need to look at this”
He hands you the phone and you read the conversation. It’s your group chat and Sam just sent a picture of Jarvis Stone, who is having dinner with none other than Wanda Maximoff.
“What the actual fu…”
“So that’s why he was being a dick to Natasha” Bucky says. “You’re not telling her about this, are you?”
“No, of course not. She has the semis tomorrow and I don’t want to distract her”
You look at your phone and press send before you chicken out.
Y/N: Can we talk tomorrow?
YBelova: Sure
You’re waiting by the entrance to Arthur Ashe, looking around.  Even if Maximoff’s match is later, you are still dreading to spot Wanda.
“Hey” Yelena says and you jump like a coward. “Wow, relax, it’s me”
“I’m sorry to be meeting you like this. I didn’t want to bother Natasha, especially today… she has enough on her plate”
“It’s ok, you can trust me”
“I know I can… it’s not easy to ask this, but do you know if Wanda and Natasha had a… thing? Like a relationship”
“Are you asking as a journalist?” the blonde says, clearly on edge.
“No, it’s not like that! Natasha and I… we kissed. And then Wanda told me yesterday that Natasha is just fooling around because she always comes back to her… and that’s weird but then a friend sent me this. It’s from last night”
“That’s the umpire that was a jerk to Tasha” Yelena takes your phone, looking at it in desbelief. “That bitch is still pulling this shit”
“If it had been only about us, I would have waited until Natasha finished her match. But it seems to me, like Wanda is trying to play dirty here”
Yelena sighs and hands the phone back. She looks around and steps closer, lowering her voice.
“Yes, they dated. Kept it a secret. It was on and off, especially when they were playing against each other. Wanda didn’t like to lose and then, after a while, she began to mess around with Nat. She would have a fight with her before a big match, even if they weren’t playing each other. Made Natasha lose her cool and struggle. They really haven’t spoken since the AO”
“What do we do? I don’t want her to mess with Natasha. I won’t let Wanda get in her way”
“I’ll speak to Fury about this. He knows everything. I’ll let you know what he says”
“Didn’t know you two were friends now”
A voice calls from behind you.
“Seestra, hey!” Yelena steps forward to give you time to recover. “Y/N was just telling me about her time at NYU”
“Is that so?” the redhead looks between you two and you nod.
She stills makes you nervous and flustered.
“Alright, my presence is no longer required” Yelena complains, but still gives you a meaningful look as she walks away.
“I have to warm up, will you stay for the game?” she asks, stepping closer.
“Yes, of course I will. I’ll be screaming your name” you blurt out and then blush. “I mean, rooting for you. Didn’t mean it to sound like that”
“Sounds good to me” she says, coming closer. “Can I have a good luck kiss?”
You look at her smile, her beautiful green eyes. Think about all the times she’s been kind and funny and brave. And you also think about how someone played with her heart just for a stupid title.
So you nod and lean forward, kissing her gently.
Natasha deserves to win, not only because she’s the better player. She’s the better person.
“Go win this thing” you say against her lips and she smiles, pecking your lips one last time.
Natasha’s win is not a surprise to you, considering the level of her recent games. You still have to stick around for the Maximoff match, opting to stay far away from the press room once she wins.
So, it’s down to the two of them in the final.
You’ve never wished for Natasha to win something so much until today.
Work keeps you busy enough. Both of the men’s semis take a combined time of eight hours and you end up completely exhausted, seriously considering just sleeping in one of the locker rooms.
You haven’t heard from Natasha but it’s understandable. She’s playing for the championship tomorrow, and knowing Fury, he will be preparing her in every way possible.
As you get a cup of coffee from one of the last stands open, your phone pings again.
Natasha: Are you still here?
Y/N: Yes :(
Natasha: Meet me in court 17?
Y/N: Yes :)
When you finally get there, you find Natasha serving a couple of times, wearing a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt.
“Is Fury ok with you staying up so late?”
“I did everything he said today. I think I deserve this one thing” she smiles, walking towards you. “You look a bit tired”
“Jeez, thanks”
“I didn’t mean it like that. Ugh, Yelena is right, I have no game off court”
You laugh at that, taking her hands in yours.
“It’s fine, I was just teasing you” you say, looking as her eyes drift towards your lips. You both lean forward, sharing a kiss.
“Thank you” Natasha says.
“Uh, you’re welcome?”
“I don’t mean the kiss, no. Thank you for telling Yelena that thing about… Wanda”
“Oh”
Natasha walks with you to one of the chairs and you sit together.
“I haven’t spoken to her in months. And I don’t want to be with her. I need you to know that”
“But still… you said you’re not sure you want a relationship, right? It would be too much trouble”
“I think it might be worth the effort for you” she confesses and you smile.
“You do have game”
“I do?”
“Tiny bit. We’ll work on it”
She laughs, and you sit in silence for a moment.
“I made my debut in this court”
“I know”
“How…?”
You sigh. Since you’re sharing stories…
“After my dad died, I kinda took distance from the things we did together. That included all kinds of sports. It was a painful reminder. And then, as the USO was starting, I realised he had already bought our tickets. So I came here, walked around a bit. And then I saw you”
Natasha smiles, squeezing your hand.
“Your hair was shorter, and you were wearing a weird orange top with green shorts” you frown as you remember how awful it looked.
“My mom chose it for me!” the redhead buries her face in her hands and you laugh. You take them in yours as you continue the story.
“You were amazing that day. Controlled, precise… I forgot for a little while about how sad I was. And after you won, I came back everyday to watch you play”
“Thank you for telling me that. I wish I could have known your father”
“I would have liked that too”
There’s silence as you both think about your own journies, the things that brought you to this moment.
“Come on, we should go. You need your rest” you stand up, offering your hand to Natasha. She thinks for a moment before taking it, but instead of standing up she pulls you down until you’re sitting on her lap, your legs around her.
“Nat?” you gulp, blushing at how close you are.
“Tell me to stop and I’ll stop” she whispers, kissing your neck and squeezing your ass.
“Holy shit, no, don’t stop” you plead, tangling your fingers in her red hair.
“Locker room?”
“Lead the way” you kiss her frantically, hoping no one sees you.
Once you arrive there, Natasha smiles and your heart stops for a second.
“Ready to scream my name?”
There’s warmth. And a nice pressure. Some tingling on your back. Like a soft touch.
You open your eyes in an unknown room, trying to remember where you are. As you turn around you find Natasha fast asleep, her arm around your middle.
“Nat?” you call for her, hoping no one walks in any time soon.
“Five more minutes” she mumbles against your skin.
“Nat, wake up” you plead.
As it turns out, she only reacts when Yelena kicks the door, walking in on you naked under the sheets.
“Happy finals day seestra—-ah! Naked”
“Yelena what is wrong?” to your horror, Melina joins her daughter. “Oh, you two lovebirds!”
“WHY DOESNT ANYONE KNOCK HERE” Natasha screams, putting the sheets above her head.
“Sorry”  Melina says, dragging away Yelena.
“Yeah, sorry” Yelena echoes, sounding anything but.
As you both get dressed, the memories of last night come back to you.
After your rendezvous -and almost getting caught by security- you decided it would be better to continue elsewhere. You blush as images of Natasha moaning, kissing and pleasuring you also come back.
“Hey” she approaches you as you walk to the door. “You ok? You look a little…”
“Flustered?” you say, trying to hide your blush.
“Well, yes. I’m sorry about them walking in”
“Last night was… amazing”
“Yeah?” she circles your waist with her hands and pulls you closer. “How amazing?”
“Like winning all Grand Slams in the same year kind of amazing” your hands go around her neck and you pull her for a kiss.
“Wow, that’s big talk” Natasha comments agains your lips. And as she’s about to kiss you, Fury walks in.
“Romanoff! What did I tell you about that cardio”
“For the love of God, knock!” Natasha says, defeated.
“Don’t worry, Fury, I promise she was laying down for the most part” you wink at the man.
“Stay for breakfast” Melina invites as she’s setting the suite’s table with all the room service.
“This has been sufficiently awkward, thank you. And I also imagine you have stuff to do”
“You need to stay hydrated. How much liquid did you lose?” Fury says, going around the kitchen like a headless chicken.
“Fury, I haven’t seen her this relaxed in months. My sister will be fine” Yelena comments.
“Are you coming to the game?”
“Of course. I’m on press duty”
“Come to the player’s box” Melina says.
“Would that be wise?” you ask and everyone shares a look. “What I mean is, we want to make Wanda think her plan worked, right? If she sees me there she’ll know we are on to her”
“I don’t care what she thinks. I want you there” Natasha takes your hand and you smile.
“Alright. I’ll be there. See you later” you kiss her cheek and smile.
“Byeee” Melina and Yelena say, and you realise that Natasha will have to deal with their questions.
Well, if she can deal with the press, she can deal with her family.
The day goes by in a blur, and as the match approaches, you feel more anxious. God, how does Natasha do this? If it were you with the world watching, you’d probably break down the minute you step into the court.
“Hello there” Yelena greets as you meet at the player’s entrance of Arthur Ashe.  “Ever been here?”
“Just once, with Bucky”
It’s hard to forget the luxurious facilities where players can get food, special gifts, some physio or workout before their matches.
“He won last year, right?”
“Yes” you smile at the memory. “How is Natasha doing?”
“She’s done with warmup, she had something light to eat and she seems ready. She’s also been smiling like an idiot all day, even if Fury kept her away from her phone”
“I want her to win, so whatever it takes” you smile at the blonde, and follow her to the lounge, where Natasha is waiting with Melina. The redhead smiles as soon as she spots you and you kiss her on the cheek.
“How do you feel?”
“Like a complete wreck”
“You got this. Remember she prefers short games, she also doesn’t like to volley or come close to the net. And people say her forehand is killer but she goes too far behind her back, so use it against her”
“Y/N?” she interrupts your rambling. “All of that is fine advice, but I already have Nick on my back 24/7”
“Right, sorry”
“You know what he doesn’t provide?”
“Hm?”
“Good luck kisses”
“That’s right, it’s above my paygrade” Fury says. “Say your goodbyes now”
Melina and Yelena hug her, Fury squeezes her shoulder and then they give you some space.
“Go win this thing” you say, leaning forward and kissing her softly.
Natasha leans her forehead against yours and smiles.
She’s ready.
Natasha comes out first, and the crowd goes wild.
Wanda is close behind her; you catch her staring at you, clearly shocked that you’re next to Nat’s family.
“Who’s losing focus now?” Yelena says with a cheerful voice and you can’t help but smile.
The game begins and it is very clear that Natasha is playing aggressively. She has an ace on every game and there are hardly any break points for Wanda. It’s been 30 minutes and the score is 5-2.
“She’s cooked,” Fury says, looking at Wanda. You shake your head.
“Maximoff has an insane record after losing the first set, you know that”
And in fact, she does lose the first set. As always, the crowd loves to cheer on the underdog, so they go wild when Wanda wins the first two games of the second set.
“Come on, Tasha” you scream, and she looks your way, smiling. In no time, they’re tied.
“What are the odds on a tiebreak?” Yelena asks.
“It can go either way” you sigh, confirming that it will happen as they reach 6-6.
Natasha is playing fast and hard, giving no time for Wanda to recover.
But as she serves for the match, Wanda challenges the call in the most disruptive way possible.
It was in, but since Nat stopped playing the point goes to Wanda.
“That’s bullshit” Yelena says under her breath and you nod.
Sure enough, Natasha zones out and goes from match point to losing the second set.
“Dear Lord” Fury says, trying to keep a neutral expression.
“Maximoff looks exhausted, Nick. Natasha is doing great. She didn’t give away the second set. She’ll do this”
The third set begins, the first four games a close call. Deuce is called when they’re tied at 2, and you know that whoever wins this point will end up winning the match.
Every time Wanda has an advantage, Natasha comes back and breaks. Even when the Sokovian is serving, it doesn’t stop Natasha from pulling her back to 40-40. The Russian is a wall, and Wanda seems to lose hope as time passes.
And then, it happens.
Wanda has a double fault that gives Natasha the advantage. Followed by a double fault that gives her a break.
“Yes” Fury claps, trying to keep it together.
As the score approaches 5, your heart beats faster. Once again, 5-2.
Natasha serving for the match.
An ace.
The crowd goes wild.
The second ball goes out of the court when Wanda hits it.
Then, a double fault.
Fuck, fuck, fuck.
It’s 30-15 and then 30-30. All Natasha needs are two more points to win.
She searches for your face in the crowd and you smile, nodding.
“You’re going to win” you say and she smiles.
Another ace.
The screens show the “championship point” sign.
Wanda doesn’t make it easy for her. She’s like a wounded animal that has nothing to lose, so she runs, she answers every throw with a groan, she comes to the net.
But when Natasha does her signature dropshot, Wanda tries to run, reaches too late and the ball bounces one, two, three times.
“Game, set, match, Romanoff”
“Fuck, YEEES” Yelena screams, standing up and cheering.
It’s all a blur, Natasha falling to the ground and covering her face. Walking to the net to shake Wanda’s hand, and then  the umpire’s.
After, she walks among the crowd, trying to reach her box. Yelena is the first to jump, their mother hugging them both and crying.
Fury looks like he’s about to cry as Natasha hugs him. You’re certainly crying happy tears as you watch them.
And then, she walks past him and picks you up from the ground, kissing you in front of the entire stadium.
“Congrats, Nat” you say against her lips.
“I’ll be right back” she promises when the security guard asks her to come back for the ceremony.
“You owe me a question”
“Save it for the next championship” she says against your lips and you kiss again, in spite of the guard’s insistence and with the crowd cheering you on.
It’s been six more slam titles, two years of tours around the world.
Natasha still owes you a question.
You’re saving it for a time when you’re both ready, and you’ll ask her to marry you.

❛ 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑯𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝑼𝒔? ❜┊parting ways with Gojo then finding each other again. wc 1.5k┊The Clichés ™ ┊request
Tumblr media
Megumi watched as you disappeared into an empty classroom sniffing with your head down and he knew better than to meddle in his sensei's private lives, but he couldn’t help himself, being so fond of you.
Ten years ago you were in his life pretty much everyday, the first day you introduced yourself as “Satoru’s friend”.
"I think I'll see you a lot. Between us, I don’t trust he’ll do a good job taking care of you and your sister.”
And you did everything, including showing up at his PTA meetings and to the director’s office when he got in trouble.
“I’m tired of coming up with stories of how i’ve become your guardian, from now on i’ll just let them believe i’m your teen mom” he remembers that conversation like it happened yesterday, he was eight.
“You would’ve been pregnant at 12” Gojo reminded.
“I had my period at 11, so it checks.”
“Please stop talking” Megumi asked sitting on Gojo’s shoulders after you both showed up to his school, being called because he fell and scratched his knee.
“Gojo-sensei? I think there’s something you need to deal with” Megumi called Gojo and pointed to the door he saw you entering.
Megumi never understood what happened, he never asked either, one day you just stopped being his… guardian. Behind the weird humor, he saw Gojo was shaken too, being a kid he didn’t know for sure if you were dating, but the fact Gojo never dated anyone makes he thinks at some point during the time you were part of his life you two started to date but then broke up, he only saw you again when he entered Jujustu High, a couple months ago.
Gojo looked to where Megumi was pointing, knowing the room as the classroom from when he was a student alongside you. The sensei put his hand on his protegee's head, a silent gesture of "thank you, I got this."
When Satoru entered the room he saw you sitting by the window, hugging your legs and looking far away. You didn't move your head even though you heard him entering, he knew you did, but he would be lying if he said your indifference didn't hurt him a bit.
Satoru thought about how small you looked. Since your young days, he grew a few more inches, not too much, but enough to assume a more adult aspect. Meanwhile, you still looked the same girl he teased and joked with. Only now, your eyes felt heavier, like you were tired of carrying all the piled up frustrations.
"You might be the only person who's safe place it's their old classroom" he slid the door shut. The room was dark, it was around sunset time but the day had been cloudy so instead of a warm orange glow, the room where Satoru was scolded so many times felt gloomy and shadowy. You to face at him, head rested on your knees.
"I don't get it, Satoru. What else am I supposed to do?" you sighed, remembering the nth meeting you had where you didn't get the promotion you wanted so much. Gojo walked to his old seat, putting his long legs up on the table.
Years ago, he wasn't sure of the consequences of having you tag along his journey of adopting Megumi. It's not like he asked you to. He was too proud to ask for help, but you did anyways, and he let you. He allowed you to help raise a kid that was taken away (even though he paid for it) from his blood relatives, simply the most influential clan of the jujutsu world. Satoru was too naive to think there would be no consequences.
Well, for him, there was none.
But the Z'enin elders directed their attention to you, someone that wasn't from any strong clan, or nearly as powerful as Gojo. In the beginning, you thought it was just a coincidence that they were only sending you in easy missions, dealing with low-level curses that any grade 4 sorcerer could handle. After two years, Gojo realized it was purposeful. They were punishing you for taking part in driving Megumi away from whatever their plans with him were.
And when you had no experience to justify being upgraded, you would be stuck being a level 3 for god knows how long. Gojo had to make a decision, he tried to tell you what was going on, indirectly blaming Megumi as the cause of your career plateau, he didn't expect you to flip like you did. In fact, you blamed him, Satoru himself, he was the one taking all the high ranked curses, being the strongest and outshining everyone else.
"That's why Nanami left, y'know? What's the point of staying if only the great Gojo Satoru is capable of saving people and exorcizing curses?"
Of course that was all frustration talking, but he didn't know any better and he fought back, accusing you of playing house with him and Megumi and neglecting your own skills and training.
"You became weak, that's why you'll never be a grade one."
Such strong words, coming from the strongest, followed you even after you ran away for the next few years, barely saying goodbye to the kid you got so attached to. You had to prove you could be strong, become a grade one then Megumi would be proud of having not one but two strong guardians, yet you failed to realize this search for power actually drove you away from him. Once you came back, your boy was taller than you, naturally more talented too, of course he was, he had the ten shadows, Satoru had the six eyes... and what did you have?
Even after all these years, sweet blood and tears, you were not even a grade 2, but a semi-grade 2. Gojo was well aware of whose fault it was: the elder's and a little bit of his too.
"I'm sorry" he said looking at the empty blackboard, the blindfold didn't allow you to see the sentiment in his eyes.
"What happened to us?" you murmured.
There were very few things Gojo regretted more than his words that day. If he kept his mouth shut, maybe you two would be married by now. Like he dreamed when he was nothing more than a teen.
Clearly, he wasn't happy either. Back then, he delusioned himself into thinking that having you away was for the best, that you would be off the radar and given better opportunities.
Satoru turned to you, raising from his seat and taking the space behind you, placing one leg up the window frame beside you and letting his other touch the floor on your other side, he didn't touch but you couldn't resist the proximity and leaned back on him, resting your head on his chest.
"Nanami returned, did you see him?" Gojo inquired, wanting to be with you in his space forever.
"Not yet, Utahime told me though" you confessed, not telling him the part where you cried like a baby the night she told you that, remembering how you used your former classmate against Satoru, to prove a point you didn't even truly believed in, and now he was back, it only served to prove you wrong and immature.
"And there's Maki too" he reminded, "You two are in a similar situation, she could use some help."
"Out of all people I'm the least—"
"Let me stop you there, sweets" the old nickname gave you butterflies, Gojo took your chin, making you look up at him, "It won't be easy but I think I can convince those old farts to make you a teacher too, that way you can help her and... be close to Megumi" you thought about becoming a teacher before, but it would be nearly impossible given your current grade.
"I dont think they're gonna let me," you exhaled.
"Don't you trust my incredible looks and influence?" he tapped your nose and for the first time that day you cracked a smile.
"Sure, give them your worst, 'Toru" the nickname escaped your lips without a thought. Felt so right, being in his arms, calling each other pet names, planning for the future…
"It's not too late for us to start over" he cupped your cheeks.
Is it not? Megumi was entering a new phase, one you could be more actively a part of; there was a new Z'enin that needed assistance too and even if you were not given recognition for it, you were stronger... Was it too delusional to think you had a new chance?
"Okay, Toru."

I Will Never Have You
??? x Beefy!Fem!Reader
“I Will Always Love You” - Alternate Ending
18+ only, read at your own risk
Summary: After the traumatic events of IWALY, you find solace with someone else.
Word count: 4386
AN: I wrote this ages ago, but didn’t have the courage to post it until now. Enjoy? 😬
“So, I heard Kate has a girlfriend now,” Natasha says, coming up behind Yelena who beats furiously at a punching bag.
“Oh, yeah, she does. I didn’t know you wanted any updates about her,” Yelena responds.
“Is it you?”
Yelena stops mid-punch, causing the bag to swing back and crash into her body. She’s nearly knocked off her feet but grabs onto it to steady herself. “What?” She looks at her sister almost offensively. “No.”
“I mean, I wouldn’t be upset if you were,” Natasha deflects.
“It’s not me, Nat.” Yelena slams her fist into the punching bag with so much force Natasha swears she hears her knuckles crack.
“Okay, okay,” Natasha backs off.
“You’ll see for yourself,” Yelena says. “Kate is bringing her to Stark’s party next week.”
“That’s where I first heard about her,” Natasha replies. “Is it true she’s from California?”
“Something like that.” Yelena doesn’t seem entirely comfortable admitting to more details, meaning that she knows more than she’s letting on.
“Well, good for Kate.” Natasha is genuinely happy to hear that Kate has finally found someone for herself. Natasha knew Clint’s protegee had always been intensely interested in you when she was with you, but hopefully now that you two were broken and you had moved away, Kate’s been able to stop pining, just as Natasha’s had to do.
After the poorest choice of judgment she’s ever experienced in her life, which resulted in Natasha assaulting you and damaging your relationship beyond repair, she has never been the same. She knows she doesn’t deserve better and her actions still haunt her despite the dozens of therapy sessions she’s been to. Fury had you reassigned to a different division at SHIELD and after you moved away, you never made contact with her again. Natasha knew it was best for the two of you to keep your space, but part of her wishes she could see you again, talk to you again, even though she knows she would never be able to have you in the way she had before.
“Well, I guess it’ll be nice to meet her then,” Natasha says.
“Yes, for you and me both,” Yelena agrees.
***********************************************************************
After a long week, Natasha reunites with Yelena to attend Stark’s party. She had been surprised her invite hadn’t been canceled, especially since she hadn’t seen any of her co-workers in almost six months since Fury removed her from the team. While she had long since adjusted to her new position, nothing could compare to the chemistry and energy of her old team. Sometimes she misses it so much she considers asking him to move her back, but she knows she wouldn’t be accepted back.
They don’t want to work with a rapist.
Although she hadn’t been convicted for her crime and it was never publicly announced what she did, it seemed that everyone knew that was the reason you and her broke up. She would still stumble across cruel notes slipped into her locker, some threatening to out her and some threatening violent physical harm and occasionally death. There was no point in reporting any of them, since they all spoke the truth. So instead, she kept them all.
The thrumming environment makes her just as uncomfortable as the familiar faces do. No one dares to talk to Natasha longer than a mandatory “long time, no see,” most of them turning instantly to her sister and engaging in conversation with her instead. Natasha feels the loneliness in her chest deepen. It could not be more apparent that no one wants her here, but as much as she wants to leave, being here is punishment enough for her.
Natasha follows Yelena around like a shadow, literally lurking behind her where she thinks no one will notice. They’re picking at a plate of crab rangoons when suddenly Yelena jabs her elbow into Natasha’s side. Natasha almost chokes on her food when Yelena says, “Kate’s here.”
“Where?”
Yelena points to the bar. Kate is standing there in a flowy purple dress that reminds Natasha of what teenagers wore to prom. Towering next to her is a familiar broad-shouldered figure, wearing a polo shirt in the same shade of purple. When both of them turn towards her and Yelena, Natasha almost faints.
It’s you.
How did you become Kate’s new girlfriend? Why did you say yes to her? A million thoughts swirl in Natasha’s head. You had told her a hundred times that you had no interest in Kate and even viewed her as a younger sister. Then how could this have happened? Did Kate slip something into your drink or hit you on the head? Maybe the trauma Natasha had caused you inadvertently gave you memory loss, and now you couldn’t remember that you didn’t even like–
“Sestra, are you okay?” Yelena interrupts as Natasha turns on her angrily.
“You knew,” she snaps. “You knew Kate was dating Y/N.”
“I was the first person she told,” Yelena admits. “And you know how Kate always felt about Y/N…”
“But it wasn’t returned!” Natasha hisses, although you standing next to Kate with your arm around her waist says otherwise. “How could you let this happen?”
“Let this happen?” Yelena’s eyes blaze with fury. “You’re the one who fucked up the relationship! Not me, not anyone else. And you know Kate would never hurt Y/N the way you did.”
Natasha swallows her anger because she knows Yelena is right. Because despite her faults, Kate would never do what she did to you.
Kate leans against you, her hand squeezing your bicep so hard Natasha is sure her nail marks are going to be imprinted into your skin all night. Marking her territory, Natasha scoffs, although how many times did she do the same to you before? She treated you like a piece of meat, like a possession she had ownership of, never like the human being you actually were.
But Kate has never looked happier as she pulls you around in tow, although you look just as uninterested in being here as Natasha feels. However, when you make eye contact with Natasha, you freeze and Kate jerks back because she isn’t strong enough to move you on her own.
Kate looks around frantically until she notices that you’re staring at Natasha, then she tugs you down to her level so she can whisper something in your ear. You shake your head, then nod and Kate kisses your cheek. Natasha wants to dissolve on the spot. Kate readjusts her grip on your arm and leads you over to Natasha and Yelena.
“Hi, Yelena! Hi, Nat,” Kate says first, waving to both of them in turn. “It’s good to see you both again, especially you, Nat. I know it’s been…a while.”
“Yes, hello, Kate.” Natasha notices Yelena move closer to her side, as if her sister is afraid she’ll try strangling Kate.
“And you both already know Y/N, I think…”
You grin as though it pains you, your teeth clenched as though you’re purposely preventing yourself from saying something.
“Anyway, we’ll be around if you want to catch up!” Kate says, and Natasha doesn’t miss the way she implies that if she wants to talk to you, she’ll have to talk to Kate too. Kate steers you off in another direction before Natasha can get a chance to say good-bye. Seeing Kate with you now makes Natasha wonder if this is how she felt every time she saw you with Natasha attached to your arm. It’s a sucky feeling.
Thinking about Kate being with you drives Natasha crazy. Maybe it’s that Kate gets to spend every moment with you. Maybe it’s that Kate gets to call you hers now. Maybe it’s that Kate gets to take you to bed. Natasha remembers when that had been her; she had never been happier in her life. No wonder Kate looked so happy with you. There was just something about you that brightened something in everyone.
And maybe Kate hadn’t had to do anything for you to turn to her. Maybe her carefree, simple nature was what you needed in your life after such a traumatic event. Natasha feels ashamed for thinking that Kate had to pull mind tricks to get you to fall for her. You deserved happiness, and if you found that with Kate, Natasha wouldn’t judge you or her for that.
Because one thing was clear now: there was no chance in the world Natasha was ever going to have you back.
***********************************************************************
“You okay, babe?” Kate says, resting her head on your shoulder. “We can get you a stronger drink if you–” She stops herself, her cheeks reddening as you stare down at the non-alcoholic margarita in your hands. You had given up alcohol since the assault and were surprised that Kate still didn’t remember this, especially after being with you for almost two months now.
“Uh, I’m sorry,” Kate rushes to apologize. “I’ll just get us some water.” Her hand brushes your arm as she turns away, waving down a waiter and turning back to push an icy glass of water in front of you.
“Thanks.” You take a sip, your hand shaking as you bring the glass to your mouth.
“Maybe we should go back to our room upstairs,” Kate suggests.
“I’m fine,” you insist. Kate keeps rubbing your forearm, which you assume is supposed to be a comforting gesture, but she’s holding on too hard, almost like she’s afraid that if she lets go of you you’ll walk right back into Natasha’s arms. But that’s an unlikely possibility, even more unlikely than you getting with Kate in the first place.
You’re still not totally sure how it happened, but within the first few months of you being stationed out in California, Kate had texted you. It had started out completely innocent, with her simply checking in to see how you were adjusting, and you were grateful to have someone to talk to. It escalated one week when you admitted to having a really hard time with life and without being prompted, Kate flew over from New York to be with you. She stayed with you longer than she should have, but when she finally went back, you felt you couldn’t be without her. So, you soon moved back to New York and the rest was history.
But it wasn’t perfect, as no relationship is, and sometimes you’re unsure if you made the right decision to come back to New York exclusively to be with Kate. She was a very nice girl, and since it was no secret how smitten she had been with you the entire time you were Natasha, you’re not surprised at how fast she warmed up to you. You, on the other hand, were facing some very complicated emotions and trauma, and it was difficult to tell if you had genuine feelings for Kate or were just using her as a crutch.
“Did seeing Nat upset you?” Kate asks, taking you out of your thoughts.
“What?” You hadn’t even said a single word to Natasha. Yelena had warned you both that she would be in attendance tonight, so you had prepared an entire speech of how to confront her, but when you finally saw her again, you choked up.
“It’s okay if it did,” Kate says, putting her arm around your shoulder now and pressing herself closer to you. “She really should be in jail for what she did to you–”
“I don’t want to talk about it,” you snap, feeling immediately guilty when you see Kate’s hurt expression. “I…just…maybe later,” you add lamely.
Your therapist told you that opening up to a new relationship after what happened with Natasha would be difficult. Luckily, Kate had the advantage of knowing you before the assault, and what happened, so you didn’t have to fully relive the trauma and explain to her why you had trust issues or why you were now so guarded in bed.
You hadn’t expected to do it so soon, and while Kate would’ve eaten you alive the first chance she got, to her credit, she waited until you were ready. The first time you two had sex, you were certain that Kate was going to pass out when she saw you lying shirtless on her bed, and then she asked you to take her in every position you could ever think of until neither of you could move the next day. But as much passion as there was, the whispered “I love yous” and kisses and cuddles felt meaningless and empty. You didn’t know what it would take to get to that level of emotion, and you wonder at all if you’ll find it with Kate.
“Do you want to go back upstairs?” Kate asks again. “Maybe we can do something to clear your mind a little…”
While Kate’s appetite was worse than a burgeoning teenager, she respected your boundaries and never pushed you into doing something you didn’t want to. You found that your libido was significantly lower than it had been before the assault, but once in a while it spiked, which Kate couldn’t be happier for.
And tonight was one of those moments. Seeing Natasha again was not only traumatic but frustrating, and you needed something to get your mind off her.
You grab Kate’s hand suddenly. “Let’s go,” you say, pulling her out of her seat and scooping her up in your strong arms. She squeaks as her feet leave the floor, wrapping her arms around your neck to steady herself. You ignore the burning eyes on your back as you walk out carrying Kate.
***********************************************************************
You’re utterly impatient waiting for the elevator to take the two of you up to the suites. Every second that passes and you don’t have Kate underneath you makes your skin hot with need. By the time you finally make it to Kate’s room, you throw her onto the bed and take off your shirt and pants. Kate watches you in awe for a moment, like she’s still in disbelief that she gets to have you like this, before struggling with the zipper of her dress behind her neck.
Once you’re undressed, you climb onto the bed with her and flip her over by her hips, ripping the zipper down so roughly you’re sure you’ve ruined the fabric, but neither of you seem to care. Kate quickly sheds the gown and pushes it off onto the floor, turning back over and looping her arms around your neck to pull you down into a heated kiss.
When your teeth knock together, you wonder if you’re being too rough with Kate, but she doesn’t let you pull away. Instead, she wraps her legs around your waist, her ankles locking over your lower back. One of your hands finds her breasts in an effort to steady yourself over her, and she moans when your hand closes around the swell of her flesh.
“Is this okay?” you finally break away from her lips to ask.
“Yes, yes,” Kate gasps. Her hands trace over your back muscles, before finally digging into your shoulder blades to encourage you to arch into her. She tucks her head against your chest and you feel her lips scraping against your collarbone, bruising your skin and marking her claim on you.
“Oh God, Kate,” you say, your center pulsing with need. You feel her hands come around your sides, brushing across your tensed abs.
“I want to ride you,” Kate demands, but quickly changes her tone of voice when she sees you glaring down at her. “I mean, can I…Can I ride you, baby?”
It’s not a power play thing, you just don’t like Kate being forceful with her requests because it makes you feel like you don’t have a choice. Although you could say “no” at any point and Kate would stop, part of you is still subconsciously fearful that if you do, Kate won’t respect you and take advantage of you like Natasha did. You stopped drinking alcohol to make sure you were always in control of all your faculties, and your time with Kate so far had proved that she was a mindful and respectful partner, but the fear was still there. You wondered if it would ever truly go away or if you would be stuck battling it every single time you were in bed with someone.
“Hop on, baby,” you tell Kate, switching positions with her and relaxing with your back flat on the bed. Kate throws one leg over your waist, placing her hands on your chest and slowly lowering herself onto your chiseled stomach. Her core is hot and wet and it excites you to see how desperate she is for you.
“You feel so good,” Kate pants, slowly rocking back and forth. You take hold of her hips to guide her, flexing your abs until you feel like you can’t even take a breath. Kate moans as she bumps across the defined muscles of your stomach.
“Look at me, Kate,” you grunt as her nails curve into the skin of your chest. You want to see the light in her eyes when she comes undone, hear the moans she releases because she’s used your perfect body to get off.
Kate loses some of her rhythm as she forces herself to lift her head. Her blue eyes, swirling with lust and desire, lock onto yours, and you buck your hips suddenly, trying to angle your body to stimulate her into an orgasm. Kate grinds down on you, like she’s trying to stay seated on a bucking bull, but the movement is too much for her and she gushes across your stomach. You keep your firm grip on her waist so she doesn’t fall off, lowering your hips back onto the bed as she falls on top of you, panting hard.
You stroke the back of her head until she calms down, and then Kate sits up with a mischievous look in her eye.
“Can I clean you up?” she asks.
You smirk at her. “Sure, baby. Make sure you get every drop.”
Almost as if your words alone were enough to reinvigorate her, Kate crawls down your body and you spread your legs apart to let her lie between them. She puts a hand on each of your muscular thighs to balance herself and lower her head to lap at the stickiness coating your abs. You moan as her tongue slides across your muscles, collecting up every bit of the mess she made. Your skin shines not with her cum anymore but her saliva and the heat in your stomach rages hotter as you watch her, her head dipping lower and lower until suddenly her mouth finds the heat between your legs and your back arches with a moan.
“Fuck, Kate,” you gasp, moving your hands to the blankets instead so you don’t accidentally pull her hair out. Her tongue pushes into you with some hesitance at first, but as soon as she tastes you, she dives in deeper for more. Her head bobs up and down as she sets a pace that’s a little too quick for your liking and you try to roll your hips to indicate a better rhythm, but Kate is too drunk on your taste, too excited to be in this position, to pay you much attention. And as hot as her mouth is, as flexible as her tongue is, it’s not enough to get you off.
Kate may not be as experienced as your past partners, but sometimes you feel like she doesn’t even want or care to know what you actually like and what you don’t. While she’s never done anything to make you feel outright uncomfortable, you aren’t always satisfied with her efforts either–although she does try her best, that much is certain.
Your excitement begins to dwindle as the minutes tick by and you’re no closer to orgasm than when Kate was still on top of you. You’re surprised she hasn’t gotten a jaw cramp yet, and you don’t want her to, so you move your hand onto her head and push her back.
“Okay, okay, that’s enough,” you say, pretending to pant like you’re coming down from an amazing high. Kate sits back on her heels, wiping her lips with a grin. You know you’re just as guilty for not being honest with her, but for some reason, you just don’t have it in you to tell her the truth. This poor girl had waited years to be with you and probably thought she never had a chance in the world. You could give her this moment. There might not be more of them, anyway.
Kate crawls up to you to kiss you sloppily and you shy away, reaching over to the nightstand and twisting your elbow awkwardly to open the top drawer. Your fingers close around the rubber toy you’re looking for and you pull it out with a flourish, watching the way Kate’s eyes darken when she sees what you’re holding.
“Think you can handle one more?” you ask.
“Anything for you, baby.” She kisses you again and gets off of you so you can sit up and pull the straps over your legs, positioning the toy between them.
“Lie down,” you tell Kate, maneuvering yourself on top of her again. You can see the glistening wetness of her center and you know you won’t need any more lube, despite how large the toy is. Even in the beginning, you insisted on using a smaller size but Kate didn’t want that, saying that you looked the best with a big one between your legs. You didn’t argue with her on that and fucked her into the mattress until you were so exhausted you fell asleep with the strap still in her.
You grab onto each of Kate’s ankles and hoist her legs up, holding them in a wide V and tilting her butt up just a few inches off the bed. Scooting forward until the tip of your cock presses against her entrance, you look down at her and ask if she’s ready.
“Fuck me until I can’t walk,” Kate says, and she knows you’ll keep your side of the deal.
You thrust your hips forward, gliding into her almost entirely in one smooth motion, and Kate throws her head back and moans shamelessly. You use your grip on her ankles to pull her forward as your hips move, increasing the power of your thrusts and the entire bed shakes with your strength. Kate bounces along the mattress, trying to reach for you, desperate for something solid to hold onto while you fuck her brains out.
***********************************************************************
“I think I saw them head out earlier,” Natasha says, trying to act like she hadn’t had her eyes on you the whole time.
“So soon?” Yelena says. “Well, I think the only reason they showed up was to see you anyway–”
“I barely spoke to either of them.”
Yelena shrugs. “Did you expect them to hang around? After what you did?”
Sometimes, Natasha wonders whose side her sister is on. Then she remembers how Yelena had been ready to (justifiably) beat her to a pulp after she found out what Natasha had done.
“Do you want to go now?” Yelena asks, although she senses that Natasha wanted to leave hours ago.
“Yeah, I think I’m done here.”
“Okay.”
Natasha plans on spending the night in her sister’s room, since it’s too far of a drive back to her place in Rochester. She goes up the elevator with Yelena, feeling a wave of sadness fill her as she remembered the thousands of times she had gone up to the suites with you, with her teammates. Those days were long gone.
“Do you remember where my room is?” Yelena asks. “I have to grab something from the kitchen, so you can meet me there.”
“Sure.” But Natasha does not have the faintest memory of where Yelena’s suite is. She only remembers where yours and hers was. She wonders who’s moved in now and if they know the history of that room. It would probably be better if they didn’t.
She wanders down the dark hallway, nervous to realize that all the doors look the same. In a moment of panicked judgment, she reaches for a random door handle and pushes it open.
Just her luck, Natasha doesn’t stumble into Yelena’s empty room. It’s Kate’s.
Kate is lying naked on her bed with you equally naked and between her legs, holding them open at such a wide angle that even Natasha is impressed by her flexibility. Your abs flex as you jog your hips forward, slapping your thighs against Kate’s loudly. Natasha has a fleeting thought of being in Kate’s position before, but it is quickly replaced by shame and embarrassment.
“Uh, shit…” Natasha says, blush creeping up to the tips of her ears. She doesn’t know if either of you even notice her and quickly backs out, her heart pounding. She would never have you like that again, and it hurts her like a knife in her chest to know that she lost you to Kate.
Kate had seen Natasha peek into her room and never thought she would be so happy to be caught in a position like this. When Natasha leaves, Kate begs you to pound into her harder and faster, until you fear you’ll actually rip her in half. You don’t, but you do break the bedframe when it slams into the wall one too many times. Tony will not be happy to hear he has to order another bed for Kate.
Kate practically screams when she comes undone, tearing at the sheets and pillows with clawed hands. You finally drop her legs, pulling your cock out and falling on top of her, your body slick with sweat as you lay flat against her. Kate rolls you to the side as you wrap your arms around her and she tangles her legs with yours, resting her head on your chest and telling you to hold her tighter.
No other words are said, but the silence seems to communicate that both of you know this is a dream reaching its end.

Hello there :) please could I request headcanons of Kung Lao, Liu Kang and Fujin falling in love with raiden’s protegee 💙💙
Oh my? My first request? I’ll try my best!
Kung Lao, Liu Kang, and Fujin falling in love with Raiden’s protegee~
Theme: Fluff
Warnings: None.
Liu Kang
Tumblr media
• When Liu Kang first saw you, you were talking to Raiden about how you had nobody to spare with.
At first sight of you, he saw how beautiful you are and couldn’t stop looking at you.
That was until Raiden called his name and he snapped out of it.
Raiden has requested Liu Kang to fight you. Raiden told you that Liu Kang is Earthrealms champion and how you could learn from him.
With a smile on your face, you accepted and you and Liu Kang assumed your fighting positions.
Raiden started the fight and you immediately threw punches and kicks at Liu Kang. As Earthrealms champion, he was surprised that he was struggling to defend against you.
He sent a fireball to you, but you used your lighting to deflect it and you kicked his face.
He stumbled but quickly regained his composure. He was impressed with your skills.
Timeskip, you beat Liu Kang and Raiden congratulations you. You hold a hand out for Liu Kang and he takes it.
As he takes your hand, he feels his heart quicken and a faint rosy red adorned his cheeks.
You noticed, but decided to not bring it up, thinking it was just him being exhausted.
You leave to rest and Raiden and Liu Kang say there goodbyes.
As Liu Kang watches you leave, he then turns to Raiden and asks about you.
Raiden asks why Liu Kang is interested in you, but Liu Kang says no reason, and that he’s interested in your skill.
Raiden can suspect he’s lying and asks if he has a crush on you.
Liu Kang’s cheeks turn red and he says no but after a little while, he quietly says yes.
You, who had been watching them behind a pillar, (that just went from 0-100,) softly smiles as you hear it.
After all, you developed a liking to him too. (。’▽’。)♡
Kung Lao
Tumblr media
You and Raiden are walking in the Shaolin Temple. You watch in awe, seeming many monks fight or go through various forms.
Raiden leads you through the monks, where you see a boy with a rather sharp hat.
Raiden calls for him and you discover his name is Kung Lao. Y/N, looking at Kung Lao with a cocky smirks, says that she could easily beat him.
Kung Lao, with his pride, quickly dismisses it, saying that he’d beat her.
Raiden suggests a friendly spar and both you and Kung Lao quickly accept it.
Raiden tells all the monks to stop what their doing and make room for the fight. You stand on the left and Kung Lao stands on the right.
Kung Lao confidently says that she will lose and that he is better than her…
…..
It’s a shame he got his ass handed to him. And it’s an even bigger shame that all the monks saw you whoop Kung Lao’s butt in battle.
You get on top of him and ask him if he’s so great now. He doesn’t say anything but a groan in pain and you smirk, getting up.
He watches you leave with Raiden.. and he feels a odd feeling stir up in him. Is this envy? Is this the feeling of his pride being shattered? Or.. is it.. love?
Fujin
Tumblr media
Fujin, since day one, has seen your immense growth.
He was always impressed by how quickly you were able to understand moves and how you were able to use lighting and control it after a few weeks.
Raiden was impressed with your improvement as well.
During your breaks, you would always talk to Fujin, asking him if he saw any flaws in her training or sparring. And as always, he would say you either had no flaws, or one problem which was stance problems.
One day, when you were asking Fujin if he saw anything wrong with your training and he said how your stance was off.
You sighed, then a light bulb went off in your head.
You asked if he could help you with your stances and he accepted.
During your second break, you went to Fujin and asked if he could start right now. He said yes and you did the position you were struggling with. (which was a punch)
Fujin, before offering his help, asked for your consent to touch you arm and possibly waist. You slightly blushed from the idea of Fujin touching you, but you gave your consent.
With his gentle touch, he started adjusting your stance and giving you pointers. (Meanwhile, Fujin has butterflies in his stomach from touching you lmao.)
Fujin attempts to keep his composure, but his heart is racing. He’s so.. close to you.
For years, he yearns to get closer to you and now.. oh~ He’s getting goosebumps just from thinking about it.
With one final touch, he tells you what your doing wrong and how to improve.
With a faint blush on your cheeks, you thank him and Raiden calls you, indicating your about to start training again.
You bow respectfully to Fujin and you hurry to Raiden, ready to continue you training.
As Fujin watches you go, his crush for you deepens.. he can’t help but hope more moments like these happen more in the future.
And that concludes the request! If you have any suggestions that could improve my writing, please DM me or type it in the comments!

‘Ugh, why does it have to be him to train me? He’s so fucking distracting.’ You groan, trying to focus on your powers and the target, but the feeling of Logan standing close to you makes your core throb. “Do you mind standing back?” You growl as you turn slightly to glare at the giant man. You swear you see him staring at your ass, but when you blink, he is staring directly at you.
Logan smirks, takes a step back and leans against the wall. He pulls a cigar from his pocket, continuing to stare you down. “Don’t have to get your knickers in a twist, sweetheart.” He places the cigar in his mouth, and your eyes focus on how he lights it, feeling your cunt tingle at the action. “Now, c’mon. Show me what ya got.”
You take a deep breath, closing your eyes as you try to calm your desires. You lift your arm, eyes rolling back as you feel the water begin to form in your palm. Your eyes narrow, focusing on the target. Logan watches the water form into sharp spikes, huffing in approval as they shoot through the air and pierce through the wooden target. You feel shivers run through you as you hear Logan whistle. Your ears pick up him moving closer, feeling close to snapping and fulfilling the need to hold him down as you bounce on his thick cock.
A growl leaves you as you feel him rest a hand on your shoulder, and you grab hold of it, flipping him. You get down and straddle his lap. The both of you huff as your core rubs against his bulge. Logan lies back, hand behind his head as the other rests on your hip, your eyes focusing on the cigar dangling from his lips. Your dark, lustful eyes dart up to his. “Why do you keep getting into my personal space?”
He huffs, sending a puff of smoke toward your face. “I like how aroused you get when I do.” His eyes slowly drag down your body, sucking on the cigar as he does. The hand on your hip moves to your core, and his cock twitches as you moan. A sharp gasp escapes you as he rips a hole through your pants, growling as he comes in contact with your bare cunt. “You’re such a whore, wearing nothing while you train with me.”
Your hands quickly make work of his belt, undoing and unzipping his jeans before pulling out his throbbing member. A needy whine leaves you as you feel how heavy he is in your hands, your eyes wide. “How the hell is this going to fit inside me?” Your hands slowly move up and down his base, his red and angry tip leaking large amounts of pre-cum. You bite your bottom lip, feeling Logan rub your swollen clit before a squeal leaves you as he lifts you and plants you straight onto his cock. “Oh– Fuck!” Your eyes roll back.
Logan grunts, hands gripping your hips as he slams you down. His thick, bulging member slides in and out of you rapidly, balls slapping your ass as he picks up speed. “Jesus, fuck. You know how much of a fucking tease you are. Always fucking shaking your ass in my face or pushing your tits together.” Logan bends his knees, and a groan leaves him as your dripping cunt clenches around him. His hand comes up, ripping the shirt from your body, and he growls as your breasts begin to bounce in his face, squeezing them, twisting and flicking your nipples as his cock pierces you before his hand moves up and wraps tightly around your throat.
Your half-lidded eyes stare down at him as you bounce, your body moving harshly with his. His cock feels enormous inside you, and you can feel slick gathering at the stretch. Your hands rest on his chest, gripping his shirt tightly as you throw your head back and scream. Logan’s dark eyes begin to move around the room, watching as water rises from nowhere. Some of it touches his flesh causing pleasant tingles to shoot through him.
He growls, gripping your body and flipping you around. His large form covers your tiny one as he begins to pound harder and faster into your puffy cunt, watching as your eyes roll to the back of your head and your breasts bounce wildly. “Fucking whore.” He lifts a hand, wrapping around the cigar in his mouth, sucking in the deliciousness before blowing a puff of smoke in your face. “You like when an older man destroys your cunt?” Your head moves up and down rapidly, hands gripping his arms. “Of course ya do. Whores don’t care bout nothing but cock.”
You pant and moan, feeling your high approaching. “P–Please! I need to cum. Please let me cum!” Your legs wrap around his thick form, and the feeling causes your cunt to pulsate around him, sucking him into you deeper. “Oh– Jesus! You feel so fucking huge! So good!” Your back arches as you cling onto him, not daring to cum without his permission.
Logan’s thrusts grow feral, and he stares into your dazed eyes as he moves his hand down and connects it with your swollen clit, rubbing slowly with his rough thrusts. “If I let you cum. You’re mine. Understood, sweetheart.” You nod, whines leaving you. Logan rubs your clit faster, his thick tip hitting the sweet spot inside you. “I need an answer!” The growl that leaves him sends shivers through your body, intensifying the feeling much more.
“Yes! Yes! I’m yours, fuck! Please!”
“CUM!”
Your toes curl, eyes rolling back as your juices squirt out of you and cover the man above. He grunts, leaning back and grabbing your thighs. His fingers dent your flesh, pulling you flush against him as he pounds harder into you. Logan can feel his cock throb and his balls tighten as his end approaches, and the thought of filling you to the brim with his seed sends him over the edge. “FUCK!” He roars, hot white spurts shoot out of his large mushroom tip and deep inside you, he punches the floor as his claws come out. His head is thrown back, the cigar still dangling from his beautiful pink lips as he empties inside you.
Logan slowly pulls out once he’s done, glaring down at you as he smokes his cigar. His large hand taps your leg, that’s still lazily wrapped around him. “C’mon, let’s go to my room so I can split ya on my cock some more, maybe make a mess of ya while I’m at it, and brand you, so everyone knows your mine.” He growls, picking you up with one arm as he heads off in the direction of his room.

He enters. Now, Mammon has never been one for straightforward comfort, he's a clown after all, he's meant to take your mind off your issues with clumsy humour and quick-thought charades. Still, he tries for his Stella, he hates to see such a prideful and greedy being reduced to a round mess full of sobs and misplaced feathers.
"Stella, my little star, my owl queen, what happened?"
*through sobs* "I-i...c-can't kill...that ba-bastard."
Mammon blinks. That Stolas guy again.
"My princess, you know that I'd kill that guy tomorrow, had he not been under Ozzie's protection." As annoying, as that was, they couldn't destroy each other's protegees.
Stella blew her nose in a napkin. "No dear, that's not..."
Mammon waited for her to take another shuddering breath.
"That's not the problem. I can't kill him for...Octavia."
"Oh."
He hadn't considered that, he had to admit.
"Indeed, oh. It's not like I don't- WANT to, he's been so awful, I just."
Stella leaned on him.
"She's my baby, you know? We already destroyed her life as is and...she loves him. It would be cruel of me-"
Mammon stopped her.
"There's no punishment cruel enough for those who have hurt you."
He paused for a moment.
"However, our sweet Octavia deserves her greed too."
Yeah, that was all it was. He was an agent of greed, all his decisions were taken with that in mind. And it was surely his greed that made him lift Stella in his arms. And his greed that made him shower her bloated face with small kisses until she started laughing. And his greed that promised she'll never have to think of Stolas ever again. And his greed that made his heart flutter as Stella watched him with her clear owl eyes and haughty signature look back on her face.
(Author's note: They're horrible to everyone else and married, your honour! I believe Mammon would try to convince himself he's doing it all for greed while coaxing both Octavia and Stella thru their hardships post break-up. And I do not accept Stella not being a good mother to Octavia. Would she be perfect? Absolutely not, but she'd have her baby's best interests in mind.)
These two are so damn pure and I love them and I love good mother Stella and I love all of this. Thank you for sending this -- thank you to everyone who's been sending these.

Welcome back to your favourite show : Over-interpreting things on QSMP and making up exaggerated symbols with your host, jahanmp4
Today let's talk about a specific Pomme and q!Etoiles dynamic that has been actively eating my brain ever since the server reset.
On very regular occasions, q!Etoiles will hand his armor over for Pomme to fix, and the mental imagery is OUT THE ROOF RIGHT NOW !!!!!!! q!Etoiles, the gentle knight, giving his armour to his apprentice WHO HAPPENS TO BE HIS CHILD !!!! q!Etoiles being vulnerable for a moment while his protegee is working on the anvil repairing his master's gear in a moment of pure trust and vulnerability. A cinematic masterpiece. The best creative writing ever done. I love them

no one asked for this but i was in the kitchen makin instant ramen and poleaxed by the thought of landoscar puppy play post-melbourne in the style of a fic i thought was gemjam's but now can't find where mark webber gave his then-protegee mitch evans a collar to help with homesickness anyway whatever have some fuckin words
edit: fuck's sake cassian obviously it was a collar and a kiss by zeraparker
mild warning for hopelessly undernegotiated kink
"Don't you ever get homesick?" Oscar could count the number of people he'd less like to be having this conversation with than Lando Norris on one hand and one of them's the bored immigration officer who had to tell him he'd not got his passport stamped right in Doha.
Lando snaps his gum, looking up to the ceiling like he's actually thinking about it. "No? Not really. I was sick of fucking Bali over Christmas, jesus and I don't want to go back to Dubai but like, home is everywhere innit?"
"No." Oscar closes his eyes, pinches the bridge of his nose. Obviously Lando doesn't experience this, he could literally drive to his parents' house on half a tank of fuel, straight out of the MTC car park. Straight from Oscar's flat, where for some reason he's letting Lando crash as though him seeing the post-Australia comedown is a good idea.
"Hmm." Hearing Lando think is always disturbing. "Well, what can I do about it?"
Oscar has to open his eyes again in disbelief. 'What do you mean do about it?"
Seeing Lando cocking his head on one side, like a dog, makes something painful sear across Oscar's temples. "You're sad, I want to fix it. Max always-"
"Don't tell me about that." He can't hear about Max Fewtrell right now. The guy haunting the garage all weekend was enough. Oscar doesn't need a reminder he's not Lando's first anything, needs to keep the thoughts about breaking up with his girlfriend so they can properly be a thing to himself.
"Well." Lando is literally sitting on his hands. "Then you have to tell me about it yourself."
Thing is, this is too much. It's not the kind of thing he should share with Lando. Lando who he just got team-ordered for, Lando who he needs to match the tyre management of, Lando who will sit there and smile angelically and get his fucking way on anything they ever diverge on about feedback.
Oscar's clenching his jaw so hard he can almost feel the ache where they took his wisdom teeth, though. Another thing he didn't know he'd really miss this much.
"You can't fucking laugh at me." Why's he said that, for fuck's sake? Lando laughs at everything, would probably do it at a funeral in his weird, stressed-out way when he doesn't know how to socially behave.
"Ok." Lando's eyes are very big and he's looked up from his phone. "I can order TimTams on Uber Eats?"
That's actually quite sweet. But not what Oscar needs right now.
"Just - stay here." Lando's fucking weird, he's probably into some of this shit himself. If not something freakier, lying around his Monaco flat in a gimp mask, suffocating himself or god-knows-what shit.
It doesn't take long to find the box. Oscar's consciously never accumulated too much stuff in this flat, like he might have to move out of it any time. Like everything might have to go in a suitcase because the contract review board said it's over, kiddo, go back down under and pretend you understand your dad's business enough to pay him back.
It's not got very much in. Oscar doesn't like to wear too much, when he's like this. Just a t-shirt and shorts or his boxers. He doesn't think he's ready for Lando to see him shirtless, like this, make his eyes crinkle up in glee at how much of Oscar he can touch.
It'd be better if Lando did it, if someone put it on for him but that's too complicated to ask for, so Oscar does it himself, mostly. Puts the soft shorts on, an old Prema shirt that's a little too tight to wear outdoors but feels comfy, soft, reassuring on his skin.
The ears are easy but the collar. He can't do that, himself. Can't give himself the ball, the well-chewed, if pristinely laundered, beanie toy. Whines, unhappily, about it.
"Osc-" obviously, Lando heard him. The sounds of him chaotically standing up, nearly falling over Oscar's rug and stumbling towards his bedroom door, are already clattering through the flat. "Can I come in?"
He just whines again, an animal thing. Oscar needs permission, like this, doesn't give it.
"Ok you better not be dying because I never finished the first aid-" Lando stops in the doorway. "Oh."
Oscar sinks to the floor, his knees bending beneath him, shoving the box at Lando before he folds down on his knees and elbows, looking up at the guy he's supposed to do anything to beat.
"Good..." Lando moves his mouth around for a moment, licks his lips. "Puppy?"
He doesn't have a tail to wag, although he has thought about one of the plugs, sometimes. Objectively, the bit of Oscar's brain that's still somewhat functioning says wiggling his arse must make him look ridiculous, especially when he paws at the box and whines again.
Lando crouches down, touches the ears. "Do you want to go out?"
Oscar cringes back, shaking his head violently. God, imagine the headlines.
"Ok." Lando does his head-cock thing again, then sticks his hands into the box. "Do you want your collar?"
It's pretty shameful, the way Oscar crawls forward so easily, smushes his face against Lando's knee and maybe he should have asked about this properly but Lando goes easily, scritching behind Oscar's ear. "Oh you're such a good boy, look at you."
Lando fumbles the collar for a second, not getting the buckle right the first time and it's nearly uncomfortable enough Oscar stands up, right back out of it but then it goes and it's snug and tight and good, Lando's hand in his hair.
"Are these your toys?" Lando shifts to kneeling, lets Oscar get his head right in his lap, nuzzling against Lando's stomach through the pouch of his hoodie. He doesn't need to answer that one, it's pretty obvious.
"Well, I don't think Oscar would want you breaking his stuff, so I'm going to leave the ball here." The third person is a jolt, like a nod to camera but it feels right. Oscar is elsewhere, can worry about that later.
"Come on then, good dog." Lando stands up, with the beanie toy in hand. It's a koala, a stupid joke. "Come and play, then."
It's not a comfortable flat to get through on your hands and knees, hard wooden floor jarring him in a way that'll probably bruise a bit, tomorrow. Lando's walking easily, waggling the beanie like he thinks he needs to keep Oscar interested.
Not Oscar. Puppy. It feels good.
Lando pushes the coffee table away, scraping on the floor in a way Oscar's landlord will probably have an opinion about when he comes to pay the deposit back. But puppies don't worry about that kind of thing, so Oscar just crawls over to where Lando's sitting, legs spread and outstretched, on the rug.
"Come on," Lando holds out the beanie, waving it by Oscar's mouth. "You want this, yeah?"
Oscar growls, nips at it. It's not the toy he wants, really, just the -
Ah, perfect. Lando pulls Oscar forward by the toy, right on top of him as he leans back. Oscar can paw him like his, Lando laughing delightedly and twisting away.
It's - he's seen the video, McLaren posted it for some national day or something last year - the same way Lando plays with his family's dog. Silly, rolling around the floor, letting Oscar half-hump him while Lando's shrieking and trying to get out of his grip, only to dive back in, wrestling with Oscar.
The rug scoots across the floor under them and they nearly crash into the telly, Oscar ending up on his back, against the sofa, Lando tickling his tummy but the toy in Oscar's mouth, triumphant.
"Are you submitting? Are you letting me lead the pack?" It's a bit on the nose but yeah, maybe. Oscar kicks out a leg, half-heartedly, to show he isn't always going to be ok with that.
"What a good boy." That, he is always ok with. More than human-Oscar would like to admit.
Lando lies down next to him, face a bit flushed and eyes bright from playing. "Always wanted a dog. You can even come to all the races."

Please don't copy my work
If someone had asked you that morning what you’d be doing later, you’d never have guessed, ‘Standing in the costume cupboard of Hawkins High Drama Club, watching your worst enemy rifling through its contents like a mad man,’ would be the answer.
It started the way all stupid things did: with a bet.
You’d graduated from Hawkins High two years ago now but when Mrs Williams had called you in a frenzy, begging for help wrangling the new generation of thespians for the school musical, you couldn’t say no. So here you sat, watching the late-night rehearsal fall to pieces, trying to whip it back into shape.
That was until your arch nemesis walked in. Eddie Munson burst through the door like he owned the place and started rooting around the corners of the room. You tried not to pay attention, fixing your eyes on the scene being performed. ‘He’s probably left something from his silly boardgame,’ you thought, huffing that the drama club were still being forced to share their space.
You’d been protesting the arrangement since the club formed in your freshman year, but each time you were met with failure and an infuriatingly smug smile. Hundreds of arguments had to be broken up by your respective cohorts throughout your high school years, the two of you red faced and spitting venomous insults. Still, he refused to budge.
Graduating was supposed to mean you never had to see his arrogant face again. Trust your luck!
‘No! No, come on guys!’ you clapped, stopping the trainwreck of a scene in its tracks, ‘We’ve rehearsed this!’
Busy directing the kids, you didn’t see Eddie freeze at the sound of your voice, turning slowly to follow it. His mouth split into a grin. Once you sat down, he bounded over, ‘Long time, no see!’ he crowed, throwing his arm around you like you were best friends.
He sniggered when you jumped. ‘There’s a reason for that, Munson!’ you shoved his arm off your shoulder, shooting him a look of pure disgust. ‘From the top!’ you snapped at the kids, a little harsher than you’d meant to
He clutched his heart, dropping into the next but one seat and retching as though you’d mortally wounded him, ‘So mean!’ he whined, ‘I thought you liked me!’
‘Shut up!’
‘Come on, I thought you had a flare for the dramatic!’ he teased, getting up in your face, only laughing when you elbowed him sharply between the ribs.
You refused to look at him. Maybe if you just ignored him, he’d disappear?
It didn’t work; it never did!
The rehearsal wore on and Eddie sat next to you the whole time. Everything seemed to be going wrong tonight! You and Mrs Williams were at your wits end and there he was, snickering and whispering to you like it was all a massive joke!
When you sat back down after fixing some blocking, he leant over and murmured, ‘I bet you Katie bungles her solo!’
You scoffed, ‘No way!’ Despite all the setbacks, that was one thing you were comfortable with. Katie had had that song down since week two.
He shrugged, ‘If you’re so sure then bet on it!’
You hesitated, attention split between your protegees and your enemy. An idea crossed your mind. It wasn’t at all professional, but this could be your chance. Sweet revenge was right at your fingertips. It was too much to resist.
‘Fine!’ you conceded, ‘She doesn’t mess up and you have to find some other place for your stupid club! Give us our room back, permanently!’
Eddie looked surprised, ‘You’re still mad about that?’ He laughed at you, making you hate him even more.
‘Name your terms, Munson!’ you huffed.
His eyes sparkled at that, like you’d just walked right into his trap. ‘If she messes up,’ he said slowly, voice silky smooth, ‘You have to dress up and play the princess for my stupid clubs next campaign!’
‘You can’t be serious!’
He spread his hands, ‘What? You’re chickening out? I thought you were certain!’ he mimicked, waving air quotes.
You weighed the options, but he wasn’t nervous. Manipulating you was easy as breathing! Eventually you took the bait. ‘Deal!’
Stupid! Stupid! Idiot!
Of course, tonight had to be the one time her voice broke. It wavered on a note she’d been practicing for weeks! Months! Your face fell a thousand feet and a mile wide grin stretched Eddie’s mouth.
Cut to you, arms folded, face burning with shame, watching Eddie rummage through the cupboard, trying to find you a costume.
‘I know it’s here somewhere!’ He grunted and groaned then gave a shout of triumph. You cringed as he stood, presenting the crumpled pink monstrosity he’d selected for your torture.
The dress had been used for the ’82 production of Romeo and Juliet but had been bought before your time. Quality, the finest a small-town high school drama department could afford. It was limp, ragged and devoid of structure with scratchy lace around the square neckline. Faux lacing ran down the bodice and the skirt gave the illusion of a mid-renaissance split front.
Eddie threw it over your arm, diving back into the mess. ‘You can’t be serious!’ you grumbled.
‘Deadly!’ he said over his shoulder, ‘And I thought we had…I know it’s here somewhere- ha!’ he straightened, holding a cone shaped hat in matching pink, with tatty gold ribbons hanging pathetically from the point.
‘No!’ you shook your head, ‘Absolutely not!’
‘Come on!’ he wheedled.
‘I’m not wearing the stupid hat, Munson! No way!’
***
‘Welcome valiant adventurers!’ Eddie spread his arms, heralding the party as they entered. Their usual table was set up, lights dimmed and mysterious and candles, which were definitely not allowed in school, flickered on either side of Eddie’s throne. Concealed behind a curtain at Eddie’s instruction, you contemplated your shame. The Hellfire banner leered down, taunting you and your wretched defeat.
‘Disaster had fallen the quaint kingdom of Knaerwood! An evil sorcerer had kidnapped the fair princess, Esmeralda, threatening destruction on her homeland!’
He paused, expectantly. ‘Hey! That’s your cue!’
Rolling your eyes and wishing for death, you stepped out of the shadows. The group stifled gasps at the sight of you, creased pink skirts trailing around your ankles and, yes, ribbons dangling from that ridiculous hat.
‘Oh noblemen! Knights of the realm!’ you cried in a monotone, rolling your eyes, ‘Pray won’t you rescue me from the malevolent clutches of-,’ you squinted at the smudged ink on your hand, ‘Uronin?’
No one knew where to look. The younger members knew of you through Mike’s sister and the older from the countless rows they’d dragged Eddie away from. One thing they all knew without a doubt was you wouldn’t touch D&D with a ten-foot pole.
You folded your arms, glaring at them, daring them to utter a single word. None of them did but Gareth and Dustin had to cover their mouths to hide giggles.
‘I don’t know!’ Gareth managed, ‘She looks like she’d rather kill Uronin herself!’
You shot daggers and he flinched.
‘What say you men?’ Eddie ignored all of you, ‘Will you undertake the quest to save the poor, defenceless princess?’ he made sappy faces at you with each word, making you want to scream with anger. How was this so much worse than you imagined?
‘Well, I for one will never leave a fellow maiden in peril!’ Lucas’s younger sister spoke up. She nodded at you in solidarity, ‘I will take the quest!’ At least she seemed sympathetic to your pain, or was that just her character?
The others promptly took up the task with theatrical pledges of chivalry.
The next two hours were hell. Eddie made you act the helpless princess, shaking his head and giving patronizing direction when he wasn’t satisfied with your performance. ‘Ham it up a bit!’ he instructed, catching your arm, ‘You’re an actress! You should be good at this!’
You wanted to kill him.
When at last the torment ended, you ripped the hat from your head, breathing a sigh of relief. It was over!
Wordlessly, you began to help clear away, nightmare flashes of how you used to find the drama room left on a Monday morning coming back to you. The others filed out and Eddie stuffed his binder under his arm, slinging his bag over his shoulder, ‘See you next week!’ He said with a smile.
Your blood ran cold, ‘What?’
He looked back, a confused frown marred his features, ‘Oh, you… didn’t think this was it?’ Your jaw tightened. ‘They’re nowhere near rescuing you, Esmeralda!’ he simpered.
‘This is gonna be eight weeks at least!’
***
It was torture.
You had to admit, Eddie was a wonderful storyteller. The way he narrated was so animated and unlike anything you’d ever seen. If you didn’t loathe him so much, he could have been an invaluable asset to the drama club. He was so invested in the world he’d created; it was infectious. The party hung onto every word, lapping it up, and Eddie got this mad glint in his eye like he was drunk on the performance.
Unfortunately, that didn’t make the following weeks any less mortifying. Just when you’d think it couldn’t get worse, he’d hand you the script he’d scrawled for the next session, and you’d die a little more.
By week four, you’d had enough. You couldn’t just take this lying down! There had to be something you could do to get back at him!
That night, as you sat listlessly during the session, waiting your turn to embarrass yourself when the perfect revenge plan presented itself. Your eyes flicked to Eddie as though afraid he could hear your thoughts. He didn’t react, in the middle of some spiel about armour classes or something.
Forcing yourself to relax outwardly so he wouldn’t suspect, your mind got to work. You weren’t positive it would work, and you definitely couldn’t accomplish it alone. You needed an ally, one right under Eddie’s nose.
‘Hey, princess!’ he snapped his fingers in front of your face. You jolted out of your head. ‘That was your cue! Let’s go!’
Oh, you were so going to get him back!
***
Lucas Sinclair’s younger sister had a mouth on her. Though she was the youngest of the party and the only one not in high school, she was more than a match for any of them. Including Eddie.
Her poison-soaked kukri wasn’t her only weapon, she was the only one able to go toe to toe in an argument with the dungeon master, and more often than not, she got her own way. You also suspected her to be sympathetic to your plight if your first session was anything to go by. She would often roll her eyes and begin harassing Eddie whenever he grated on you too hard.
It was now or never! You ran to catch her once the session was over, leaving the drama room in a mess and Eddie calling after you.
‘Hey!’ you panted, skidding to a halt when she stopped, ‘Erica, right?’
She raised an eyebrow, ‘Who wants to know?’ Lucas yelled for her to hurry up and she shot a sarcastic remark over her shoulder. ‘What do you want?’ she asked pointedly, looking back to you.
‘I uh-.’
She was like three foot tall! How was this kid so intimidating?
‘I need your help!’ you begged, ‘Please, I can’t take much more of this! Munson’s killing me in there! I need your help to get back at him!’
She looked sceptical; her eyes narrowed. You crossed your fingers behind your back. ‘What’s in it for me?’
‘What?’
‘You heard me! What’s in it for Erica?’
You spluttered. Whatever happened to ‘not leaving a fellow maiden in peril?’ ‘Well, what do you want?’
She tilted her head to the side, tapping her jaw, pretending to think for a while. ‘Hmm… Stop trying to take away the drama room!’ she demanded, hand moving to her hip.
That surprised you. You didn’t even think she’d know about that!
‘You should know what it’s like to get pushed away!’ she continued poking a finger at you, ‘You drama kids aren’t exactly in with the popular crowd either! We’re not so different, so stop trying to get rid of us!’
You were taken aback, guilt suddenly flooding in. In all your years of protesting Hellfire, you’d never stopped to think how they might feel about that. You bit the inside of your cheek, hanging your head sheepishly, realising how hypocritical you were.
Theatre was something you loved dearly and wanted to protect from those who didn’t understand or ridiculed it. But at its core, wasn’t theatre about unity? ‘There are no small roles, only small actors!’ That was something you’d been told from day one and was now teaching to the new generation. Everyone in a cast mattered, from the lead to the youngest ensemble member, no matter what! It was a family. And there you’d been, pushing this group away because you deemed them unworthy.
You’d seen the way they played their roles. They loved their characters and the stories so much. All this time you could have been working together. How had it taken six years and a middle-schooler’s words to make you see that?
‘Okay fine, I’m sorry,’ you muttered. ‘Now would you please help me?’
Erica smiled triumphantly, holding out a hand. You shook it.
‘What did you have in mind?’
***
Hellfire became almost bearable after that day.
Watching Eddie poke fun at you, still believing he had the upper hand was exhilarating. His jibes stung less knowing that one of his own had betrayed him. He had no idea the storm that was coming.
The two of you met in secret. You brought back information you’d snatched from glancing at Eddie’s notes when he wasn’t looking, and she began to coach you in the art of Dungeons and Dragons.
It was Gareth you had to thank for the idea. Way back when you began, his suggestion that you wanted to kill the wizard yourself had made you wonder, why not? Why the hell not?
Thankfully, Lucas was too busy with basketball, he didn’t have time to notice you dashing into his sister’s room with wads of paper and notebooks.
Erica helped you fill out your character sheet, careful to pay attention to the notes Eddie had for you already. That way he hadn’t a leg to stand on if he tried to argue. She took you through the endless number of rules, teaching you the names of different monsters and playing one shot campaigns to level you up.
By the time the final session rolled around, Erica was satisfied you were ready.
‘Are you sure?’
Doubt suddenly flooded in. What if it wasn’t enough? You only had one shot at this!
She placed a hand on your shoulder, looking you dead in the eye, ‘Kick his butt, Esmeralda!’
You gave a small smile and she nodded before Eddie entered. You broke apart, trying to look innocent. He couldn’t suspect anything! His eyes flicked between you, focusing, but before he could ask any questions, the rest of the party trooped in, laughing excitedly about the grand finale of the campaign. Oh, if only they knew!
You took your seat, next to Eddie’s, practically vibrating with excitement and anticipation. The party battled through a final horde of monsters; it was almost time.
‘The final orc lets out an ear-piercing roar then drops down… dead!’ Eddie recited, throwing himself back onto his throne to imitate the monster. He leaned forward, ‘The door at the end of the corridor creaks open, revealing the desperate princess. Eddie gave you a nod. Erica barely concealed a smile.
You stood, dramatically clasping your heart. ‘Oh, noble adventurers come to my rescue! How could I ever thank you?’ you really went for it this time. From the corner of your eye, Eddie watching you with a look of awe. Pressing the back of your hand to your forehead you declared, ‘In all the ages of this world, there is no reward that could match your bravery!’
‘But then,’ Eddie cut in throwing his hand out to stop you and kneeling halfway onto the table, ‘a whirling storm of smoke arises!  Out of the shadows, he materialises! The evil lord Uronin!’
The party let out cries of fear and alarm. Eddie cackled, ‘He stands between you and the princess! His staff drawn, it’s light growing brighter by the second!’
Before he could say another word, you slammed a character sheet down on the table. ‘I pull a knife from within my skirts and stab him in the back!’
The room fell silent. Eddie stared at you, sitting back on his heels. His smile faltered. You held his gaze and realisation seemed to dawn on him.
‘No way!’ Gareth exclaimed, open mouthed.
‘You never said she was gonna play!’ Mike interjected.
‘Dude, epic reveal!’ Henderson laughed with delight.
Eddie didn’t say anything. His eyes didn’t move from yours. They were unreadable. In the dim light, they looked like black beetles. They flickered with the reflection of candlelight, as though they too were on fire. You stood your ground, goading him to make his move. Something in his expression changed. He handed you a die, ‘Roll for damage!’ You took it and he caught your wrist. ‘You’re on!’ he breathed.
You’d never been more nervous in your life. Playing for the first time in a group was nerve-wracking enough but these were incredibly experienced competitors. By all accounts, Eddie was the toughest dungeon master there was, and he had no intention of going easy on you.
Erica had your back. She shouted instruction above the ruckus that resulted and you were always careful to follow. Eddie noticed. Realisation hit; an underhanded mutiny had taken place within his own ranks! A scowl creased his brow. He amped up his game.
Wave after wave of monsters attacked. You were pretty sure Eddie was just improvising now. He wasn’t going to go down without a fight.
‘That’s ridiculous!’ you protested, after a particularly cruel ruling.
He shrugged, smug smile plastered across his face, ‘That’s the game sweetheart!’
‘No it’s not! He rolled 18! With his multipliers-!’
‘I get the final say!’ he interrupted, pushing himself out of his seat.
‘You aren’t being fair!’ you shot back, following suit.
‘Tough luck!’
‘If you aren’t going to play properly!’
‘You know what, princess?’
‘What?’
His jaw tightened. You were practically nose to nose, so close you could feel his hot breath on your cheek. Eddie bit his tongue, falling silent. His eyes flitted, almost imperceptibly to your lips as he wet his own and something deeper than fury ignited inside you. Blind rage became floundering confusion. Your breath became shallow. All at once, you were noticing the lines between his brows when he frowned, the way his bottom lip jutted out and quivered just a little, the hard curve of his jaw, the dark intensity of his eyes…
‘If you two lovebirds are done?’ Erica cut in, ‘I search for a way to cave in the passageway!’
Eddie tore away and sat down. You forced those feelings down and tried to focus on the game. He hardly looked at you for the rest of the session. Your head was reeling, trying to make sense of the altercation. A red flush crept its way up your neck; you tried to keep it together.
What had he meant by looking at you like that! What had you meant, thinking all those things? What did any of it mean?
And for the first time, somewhere deep down in your heart, you worried you’d struck a nerve.
***
It was a close call, but the party came through. Eddie recounted the final parts of the story amid cheers of victory. They left their seats, chatting and celebrating for at least another half hour before beginning to head home.
Triumphantly, you threw your princess hat across the room. Eddie smiled to himself but you didn’t see.
You thanked Erica quietly, ‘Worth every second!’ she smirked, ‘Or nearly!’ You felt your cheeks grow warm again, warmer still at the voice behind you.
‘So, you’re the mutinous traitor?’ Eddie came out of nowhere, slouching between you with an arm on either of your shoulders.
‘All I did was stand up to an oppressive regime! And come to the aid of a damsel in distress!’ she retorted, making him laugh. The sound was low in his throat, filled with fondness. You couldn’t help but want to hear it again. He didn’t seem angry that one of his flock had betrayed him, in fact he seemed quite proud.
Erica bid farewells and followed Lucas out to where their mom waited in the car. It was then you realised how quickly the room had emptied.
You and Eddie were alone.
He held out his hand, ‘Well played!’ he said, his tone completely genuine. You shook it awkwardly. It was weird to talk without sarcasm. Maybe you liked it?
‘Thanks.’
‘You completely cheated,’ he added (there it was), ‘but well played!’
‘I did not cheat!’ you jerked your hand away, indignation sparking up again.
‘Did so!’
‘Did not!’
For once Eddie gave in, shaking his head with a smile. ‘What did Sinclair get out of this anyway?’ he asked, turning to start tidying up. What was happening? Eddie never started tidying up first! ‘She never does anything for free!’ he went on, ‘She’s really into this Capitalism thing, try’na knock it out of her!’ He gave another one of those slight laughs making your stomach turn over.
You hesitated, wondering if you should tell the truth. The source of all your rivalry had been her price. Would he lord it over you? Would he be mad you gave it up for her when you’d spent forever refusing him? Either way, it felt scarily close to admitting defeat.
With a heavy breath you muttered, ‘She said I had to stop trying to kick you guys out!’
Eddie stopped, ‘Wait, really?’ He couldn’t believe what he was heard.
You nodded at the floor, biting the inside of your cheek in attempt to stop hot embarrassment from taking hold. ‘She said I ought to know better, you know, with the drama kids not being popular either.’ You let out a breathy chuckle, ‘She said maybe we aren’t so different after all.’
‘What, stubborn?’ Eddie grinned, stepping closer.
You looked up at him, with a tentative smile, ‘Arrogant!’ you offered, raising an eyebrow.
‘Self-centred?’
‘Impulsive,’ you breathed. There you were again. You didn’t know how it happened so fast: faces so close it wouldn’t be hard to lean forward and…
He sensed your uncertainty. A tender smile tugged at the corner of his mouth, growing wider when he saw it mirrored on yours. After all this time, all this arguing, he had to ask himself if this was what it was all for? Maybe all of your quarrels, all of your disagreements had been leading up to this? Maybe at the heart of it all, this was what you really meant by-
‘Sorry I forgot my- woah!’
You jumped apart as Mike burst through the doors and yelped in panic.
‘Wheeler!’ Eddie seethed. The boy was trembling like a leaf.
‘Did I… interrupt… something?’
You held your breath, wincing at the rush of feelings crawling under your skin. Eddie looked fit to burst.
‘Scram!’
He grabbed his hoodie and bucked it, leaving the doors to swing and crash shut behind him. Eddie swore under his breath and went back to clearing the table. You didn’t move for a while, an unfamiliar twinge of regret shot through your heart.
Electricity charged the air, like static before a thunderstorm. Your heart pounded, grappling for understanding. Without thinking, you stepped forward just as Eddie turned around, almost falling into you. Nose to nose again, this time, you closed the gap.
Balling your fists in his shirt and reaching on tiptoe, you kissed him. He froze up. Time stopped and reality took a while to catch up with him. Then his hand found its way into your hair and he relaxed, drinking you in like he was dying of thirst.
A second later, you broke apart. Eddie breathed heavily, trying to replace the air you’d just knocked out of him. He had stars in his eyes, still not able to process what happened. It was like everything suddenly made sense. An unspoken recognition passed between you before he kissed you again. Cupping your cheek, he fumbled to set the miniatures he’d gathered back on the table so he could hold you in both hands. Yours tightened in the fabric of his shirt, pulling him still closer.
Too soon, he broke again but stayed close. Forehead pressed to yours, he laughed quietly, that same low sound that sent butterflies careening through your tummy. When your eyes met, his open mouth stretched to a smile, ‘I knew you liked me!’
‘Don’t push your luck, Munson!’ you mumbled, reaching to kiss him again and again laughing between them.
‘Never!’ he grinned, obliging you, ‘Never! Never! Never!’
You tired yourself out, incessant kissing turned to a breathless embrace. Eddie’s eyes were closed, like if he opened them, it would turn out to all be a dream. A beautiful dream.
‘Hey,’ you murmured, waiting until he met your gaze. You raised an eyebrow, ‘So do I get one of those cool t-shirts now?’
Eddie pressed a kiss to your smile, taking you all in, ‘I don’t know, princess,’ he smirked, ‘I think your outfit’s pretty perfect already!’
You slapped his chest and he laughed, hooking an arm around your waist and pulling you in once more.

Actually hang on, that AU would have so much potential.
Adora seeing Imp as her chaotic little sibling who helps out with pranks etc but might also snitch on her and Catra. Also, more internal conflict because he and Hordak are, at least on some level, family to her.
The other cadets not interacting with C and A because A is Hordak's protegee and C is SW's. Both of them are scary, so C and A really only have each other, which makes their separation in s1 only hurt more and make Catra all the more obsessed with getting Adora back bc she literally doesn't have anyone else (until Scorpia) (she could bond with Imp?)
Catra struggling to bond with Scorpia and accepting her friendship because she never had any friends outside Adora so, oops, social skills whomst? But eventually learning how to be a decent friend and growing as a person, as well as letting the sting of Adora's departure fade a little. She gets to grow as a person AWAY from Adora so that once she does join the Alliance, she is a bit more functional.
Catra worrying about Scorpia during s5.
Catra, spying at Angela interacting with Glimmer: oh ew what is this? Affection? What a cheap attempt at manipulation. -> Wait a minute, this looks... nice, actually. -> If she's the evil one, why is she such a good mom? -> Why isn't SW being this good to me? -> FUCK OFF SHADOW WEAVER YOU'RE A HORRIBLE MOM I'M OUTTA HERE.
Adora getting dragged back to the Horde in s3 and Hordak potentially acting like a disappointed father whose teenage daughter came home late from a party.
"Did you get everything out of your system? Y'know, Horde Prime would've killed me if I did what you did. You should be grateful."
[some character development later] "Hey, wait a minute... You shouldn't kill/brainwash people for doing that. HORDE PRIME IS AN ASSHOLE."
The comedy of Adora looking at Entrapta and Hordak interacting like "??????????????? HORDAK??? HAVING POSITIVE EMOTIONS??? DO I HAVE TO CALL ENTRAPTA MOM FROM NOW ON?????????"
Entrapta: I fucked your dad shitlips
Catra feeling genuinely horrible for Angela getting trapped between dimensions bc of the portal not only because she learned that Angela was good all along, but because she glimpsed what it's like to have a good mother figure and she took that away from Glimmer.
Maybe even Catra knocking some sense into Bow because he's mad that Glimmer did the stuff she did in s4. "Dude, cut her some slack. I know what it's like to be in position of authority (force captain) and it's stressful as hell. We were winning back then so you guys were losing badly and she was/is grieving. You do stupid shit when you're stressed and desperate (I would know, I made the portal happen.) So just... I'm still not 100% sure how to be a good friend so take what I say with a grain of salt but... Y'know, go easy on her."
^ character growth, shows willingness to forgive and thus bridge the gap between her and Adora. Results of being friends with Scorpia, feeling like shit when Scorpia left her, and the self reflection done throughout s4 following the "oh God I fucked up" at the end of s3.
No Melog. I'm sorry I just don't see the point. Instead, I'd really want to see Swiftwind be featured more heavily. Possibly Catra initially thinking he's weird bc she's never seen a horse before and later going "hey, you're close with Adora. Can we, uh, compare notes? I spent the last 3 seasons being her enemy and I'd like to go back to being her friend now. Help?"
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. this AU would have worked so much better than the trainwreck that we got. (also the idea of entrapta technically becoming adora's mom crossed my mind too, it would have been HILARIOUS)

a fluffy raindrop inspired by my first synthesis step that didn't work because of the same reason it doesn't work for rain... the difference being i didn't get a picnic under the stars... also instead of getting a day off, i skipped half a lab day to get to band practice for an event... the luck these ghouls get *sigh* im jealous...
creds to @sexy-sea-basss for the lake picnic idea! 🖤
didnt plan on posting this today but after the heartbreak that is @alwaysjustmina ‘s whispers (love it so much) 😭… @webbyghoul and i figured we’d need raindrop fluff asap
The Day Off
The week can’t get any longer if you ask Rain, and it’s only Tuesday. He’s been working on just this one step since Wednesday last week, which is already ridiculous, especially the 3 days spent trying to isolate a product, or at least something. They’ve got to have something because on Friday Mist will ask for a weekly report. They’ve been losing sleep and surviving on energy drinks and protein bars, though sometimes Dew would stop by with ‘healthier’ snacks.
The problem is not with synthesizing the substance, he thinks, although they wouldn’t know, they haven’t taken any spectrums yet, because the substance just don’t want to be isolated from the rest of the shit. They’ve tried all sorts of of solvents, n-Pentane, ethylacetate, diethylether, in various ratios, but nothing is working. The fucking polar nitro group they have in their substance is making it harder to isolate, even if they manage to do it the yield wouldn’t be good. They could change the starting material and methods, but they need to talk about it with Mist first when she’s back from her work trip, probably sometime later today. But damn if he isn’t going to wear themself out by trying their hardest.
They’ve talked with Mountain and Swiss too, asking for ideas and opinions, even chatted a bit with Cumulus. But none of their suggestions work, it got closer with the ratio of solvents that Cumulus suggested, they could already see a bit of difference in the TLC he did earlier, but it’s still not separated enough for the column chromatography. Now they’re just sitting at his desk fidgeting with Bap, sometimes bringing it close to his nose so they get Dew’s calming scent.
“I have returned from the hell known as human science convention with old men who has no respect for women!” Rain suddenly hears, Mist is back, there may be a light at the end of the tunnel.
“Mist! Hi, how was the trip?” Rain asks, to be nice and even though he’s dying to ask her about their problem.
“Rainy, darling! It was annoying, they keep not believing me when I said I’m a participant in the convention and not the catering staff, ughhh. But enough about me, you seem down, what happened?” Mist sees the tired look in Rain’s face, the dark circles under their eyes, and the slump in his shoulder, not to mention the way they were staring into space clutching that crochet plushie of his when she first came in.
“Oh, Mist, nothing is working, I’ve been trying to isolate my product but none of the solvent ratios I tried worked, I even asked Cumulus and Mountain and Swiss and they have no idea either. Could I maybe get permission to redo the reaction with a different starting material? I can even propose to you a new reaction mechanism to get the same result right now, I have thought a lot about this, it just doesn’t work with this one. Or even if it works, the yield would be bad, and-“
“Rain, Rain, stop for a second. Take a deep breath, come on,” Mist smiles softly at her protegee, “Okay. You’re good?”
“Yeah, maybe, I don’t know,” Rain sighs.
“Here’s my decision, you are hereby dismissed for today, and also tomorrow, go get some rest, spend a day in bed, go swim, whatever, you’re far too stressed. You can show me your idea on Thursday. And because I know you’re just gonna stay here and stress some more. I will get Omega to let Dew off early and distract you, maybe you’ll even get your first kiss from him today. Got it?”
“Wait, what? No I can do it, we can discuss it now and because it needs to be cooked overnight I can do it today and tomorrow start with the work up, I’m fine Mist,” Rain pointedly ignores the last part.
“No, you’re not. You need sleep and to eat more than coffee and candy bars. My decision is final, you are hereby banned from this room and the labs for the rest of today and tomorrow, go pack your things,” Mist says while gently pushing on Rain’s shoulders to get them to their desk and start packing up, “Meanwhile I’m going to call Omega. Your things better be already in your bag when I get back.”
With a sigh (so much sighing today) Rain starts to save all the documents on his computer and shut it down, stuffing their journal and tablet and the rest of his things into their rucksack. And then he waits for Mist.
“Your knight in shining armour will be coming in about 15 minutes!”
“More like in hoodies and ripped jeans,” Rain mutters.
“Aw don’t be so glum, Rainy darling, your project will be fine if you take a 1.5 days rest, you know. Then Thursday you can start with a fresh brain!”
“I guess… Thank you Mist, best boss I could’ve ask for,” Rain goes to hug their mentor.
“Hello my dearest loveliest bestest friend ever in the whole wide world both here and below! Thank you for the day off because Aether’s been getting all up my business today, and I am half a second away from burning his journals,” Dew announces as he barges into the office, “I have plans that involve a lake and snacks from the diner with no chemical reactions in the vicinity. Up and at it, bestie!”
“Fucking hell Dew, how can you still have this much energy?”
“By sleeping on time and eating enough food to sustain myself through a day full of quantum equations, which you should’ve done by the way, would be wonderful on those eyebags.”
“Oh fuck off.”
“Nah, you’re stuck with me because we are besties and you can’t live without me, literally, because we are roommates. Let’s go!”
They stop by the diner to get some food to go, and then their apartment to drop of their things and freshen up, Dew also gets his picnic blankets and a couple of towels and change of clothes for when Rain inevitably jumps into the lake and splash him.
There’s this one secluded lake on the edge of the town that Dew found on accident. Usually they just go to the lake at the Abbey complex, but he feels like this one would be perfect for Rain to wind down without anyone watching, the way to this lake is a bit complicated and requires a bit of hiking, which neither of them minds, they both love to be in nature no matter what.
After parking the car and hiking, Dew asks Rain to put on a blindfold just before the bend that would reveal the lake. It’s because he wants to set up the picnic blankets with food and tea lights he brings for a romantic date under the stars, as it was already getting dark, they got to watch the sunset at the parking lot.
Rain agrees with a bit of grumbling, and with Dew’s guidance they walk together to the edge of the trail heading to the beach, where Dew then leaves Rain for a bit while he sets things up. He talks with Rain the whole time, to reassure Rain that he’s still there, just random chatters mostly, like Aether being annoying that day, the plans the pack has this weekend to go to Zenith because it’s bingo night, the last hockey game they watched, and whatnots. Rain has to admit, it is relaxing to just chill like this, even without being able to see anything, he can already feel the stress seeping out from their body.
“Okay, Rainy, you can take off the blindfold.”
When they take it off, the first thing they see was Dew holding a bouquet of lilies (who knows where he got it from) with a big smile on his face, and then behind him the picnic he set up, complete with a background of the lake and the starry night sky.
They spend a few hours there, snacking on the food while talking, kissing a bit (more like a lot) because there’s no one here and they can forget their running joke of not dating (they are both very serious about keeping up with it), taking a dip in the lake (Rain), and admiring the view of an unglamoured water ghoul in their natural habitat (Dew) before being pulled in by said water ghoul for underwater kisses (best thing ever if you ask Dew).
Then at about midnight they both get out of the water and dry up using the towels Dew had packed, and after finishing the snacks they pack up the blanket and tea lights and knick knacks they bring.
“Thanks for today, Dew,” Rain smiles while leaning in for a kiss, which lasts awhile, before they both pull back and rest their foreheads against the other’s.
“Anything for you, baby,” Dew smiles back, “Now, you ready to go home? We need to get some sleep, I know you have tomorrow off but I still need to come in after lunch for a bit. And you are not allowed to come with me, in fact I am ordering you to stay away from campus, go sleep in, swim, read, whatever, as long as it’s outside of a 5 km radius of the campus. Got it?”
“Yeah yeah, whatever,” Rain smirks, ”Let’s go, I need cuddles in my bed with you.”

So I know you just posted the “SWK’s s/o gets possessed in his place” but I rlly wanna see the rest of the crews reaction, cause I know that Pigsy is more than likely gonna blame WuKong one way or another, and when Macaque appears he’s more than likely gimme be a lil salty. (Optional: Red Son, Mei, and MK see reader as a parental figure, so it would probably hurt them a little more than the rest of the group [other than WuKong, cause, y’know, reader being his s/o and everything] I was thinking that for Red Son and readers relationship that maybe outside of battles they would meet up with a mutual agreement to not hurt each other and overtime Redson saw them as another authority figure.)
THE GANG AND POSSESSED!READER
Tumblr media
You were oddly kind to him outside of the brawls your friends and him get into. He never understood what was in your mind when you approach to him one day when he was specialy frustrated after what happened to his father. Red Son never asked YOUR kindness... But he appreciated.
When you appeared to retrieve Samahdi Fire, he was horrofied.
"Y/N?!" He gasped, and he cover himself againts your first attack. He tried to fight you, convincing himself that he had not choice... But Red Son didn't wanted to hurt you... And neither could, you were stronger.
Tumblr media
Why is this happening?! It was just a few days ago when you two were laughing and scrolling photos of their quest, planning to made a Monkey Cop marathoon after this is over... Now she has a weapon she didn't wanted inside her... And the Lady Bone Demon has YOU?!
The Samadhi Fire surrounded her as her tears flowed. She gasped in horror when you walked through the fire after taking down Red, MK and Sun Wukong again. "Stop... Y/N!! Please, stop...!NononononoNONONO...! STOOOOOP!!!!!!" You were letting the fire burning you, part of your hair were a blaze and your hands red. Mei just stopped the fire ....
And your icy hands grabbed her neck, frozing her to take the weapon to your Lady.
Tumblr media
It was the very first time Pigsy has ever punched the Monkey King. Tang tried to hold him, but the swine kept rambling and yelling at him. "HOW COULD YOU LET THIS HAPPEN!?!? FIRST MEI, AND NOW Y/N!! BECAUSE OF YOU WE LOST BOTH OF THEM!!"
Sun Wukong didn't even bother to get up after he collapsed. He was admiting that the Pig was right. Nor even Mr Tang or Sandy knew what to say. All was a mess up; and they truly appreciated your friendship.
Tumblr media
The sacrifice that you made for saving Monkey King has hit MK very bad. He was blaming himself... It was a nonsense but he does. He is the one who lost The Staff, who were manipulated by the Lady Bone Demon... He allowed you to be part of this quest. Why?
Why?
Because you offered. Because you belived in MK.
When he faced you when you came to get Mei, when he confronted you... The glow of your eyes dimmed, and for a moment you holded your fist. It was a faint moment but MK knew--KNOWS that you're still in there!
"This isn't the end yet." MK finally spoke and is already encoraging the gang to think a new plan. At this point nobody understood in what was in his knucklehead: LBD has the Samadhi Fire, the Staff, the giant armor it's almost set to destroy the world, SHE HAS YOU AS HER CHAMPION.
"Yes, BUT... Y/N it's a fighter." He set eyes on his friends, on the defeated Sun Wukong. "When did she ever gave up a fight? Or gave up on any of us? I know that she is inside there, trying to set herself free. That's another reason to get back"
That was a solid truth about you, and was what the Monkey King needed to remember. He get up still in pain but with his determation showing on his gaze toward his protegee. "Then, we better think a good contrattack plan."
"I've a suggestion." A low voice came from Red Son's shadow.

Heat Chapter 4
chapter one, two, three a/n: last one! thanks for everything tw: quirk misuse, betrayal, trauma, loss of friendships, lost at sea (temporarily)

“What do you mean?” Eraserhead was becoming increasingly agitated. Not only have his former students been missing, but they have been missing in the weirdest place. And from what Shinsou’s face told, the situation is a bit more serious than anticipated.
Originally, he assumed you crashed or something even though it didn’t fit you. However, given the circumstances, it was natural to think that. But the confirmation that the message was received, and now more information has been revealed, he can’t help but get angry. Maybe it’s the hero in him. Maybe it is his teacher instincts that are bubbling to the surface. Or, he will reluctantly admit this to himself: perhaps his paternal urges are what is causing this.
   Nah.
“This needs to be stopped.” Shinsou walks into the room where Eraserhead sits. His protegee is out of his usual hero uniform and there is no trace of their signature rope. He tugs his fluffy hair and takes a deep breath.
“That much is obvious, Shin-” His student quickly cuts him off. He stands in front of him with his face adorning furrowed purple brows.
“No, I mean, look.” He points to the room to reveal the truth. Eraserhead stands up as quickly as he can.
________
You turn Betsy for control. The turbulence is rough and the window is getting covered with evidence of the storm. The confidence you once possessed that had so easily slipped through your fingers before is remaining strong in your grasp. You can do this. You can do this.
Denki’s screaming isn’t helping, though.
“Will you shut the hell up?” You smack his arm. He rubs the spot. “Don’t take your hands off the wheel!” He shrieks. You roll your eyes at his hysterics. He is reminding you so much of Jay right now.
Sadness crawls into your chest. His body is still on the mysterious island. You didn’t think to take it. There was no way, you remind yourself. You can’t give his family the remains. He’s deteriorating and there is just no way to load him. If it were up to you, Ochako and Jay’s remains would be returned home and they be given the sendoff they deserve. With love, appreciation, and respect.
Soon, you will explain and try to be strong for their families. Right now, you have to get home.
Suddenly, the GPS pops up again. The route to the island appears. Denki laughs breathily in relief. As opposed to his relief and happiness, there is a flush of heat on your face, a snarl on your lips and a tightening grip on the yoke. In the sky you can see everything. And low and behold, there is the sunshine.
It illuminates the boats and the calm waters they rest on. The multitude of people gather around to see. You bring Betsy down roughly.
“Calm down! Calm down!” Cries Denki. Shouto gets up. “Sit down, now!” You yell furiously. You don’t mean to, but everything is coming to light.
Betsy lands ungracefully, but safely. “Get out, right now.” You push Denki out of the seat. The four boys exit the plane.
“What’s wrong?” Izuku asks. Everything is becoming clear to you. What was minutes for you, was hours to them.
  “We’ve been tricked.”
____
You sit on the bed while the doctor checks on you. You are dehydrated and exhausted. Not to mention fucking hungry. Although you are glad to hear that everyone’s okay, you demand to see a hero or anyone in charge.
“Alright, fine.” Shouta walks in. He sighs when he looks at you. Clearly, this is not his forte. “Do you have any questions? I can see something there.” Once again, he’s right on the money. Stupid for him to even ask, though.
“It wasn’t real, was it?” This time, you have been able to deduce that something wasn’t natural. Clearly, a quirk is involved.
“Not everything was the quirk’s fault. A child has recently developed it and can’t control it yet. The parents are talking with the authorities right now. Pilot,” He cracks his neck, his face showing that he doesn’t want to do this.
“What happened to everyone? Bakugou, Kirishima, Ashido, everyone else. What happened?” He looks right into your eyes. You take a deep breath and start.
“They got on a boat and left us. Jay died and Ochako, too.” You lay there willing your tears not to show themselves. Shouta looks confused for a second then sighs for what seems like the millionth time. By now, you have caught on that he’s just putting on a show with it. That he wants to conceal whatever he’s really feeling about the ordeal. “Ochako is alive. She made it over the waterfall.”
“Is that how you were able to contact us? Is she okay?” Automatically, you assume the worst. That she’s hurt and that’s why she didn’t ask for help. Thinking that maybe she didn’t abandon you but literally couldn’t ask for help. You're willing to accept that! How can she help it?
  “Yes, she’s fine-”
“So she just woke up then?” He shakes his head no. “She is being talked to right now. She never mentioned anything the entire time she was here.”
You remain silent for a while. The hurt and betrayal seeping all the way into your bones. Not a single warning was given. She left everyone and the rest of the group is lost at sea. The image you have of her is fading fast.
“Everyone...they haven’t been found?”
“Not yet.”
“How are the boys?” He notices your avoidance of Ochako. “They’re suffering from the same things mainly. Todoroki is a little different since the ice side of his quirk is acting up because of him not being cold enough. I don’t know, that’s what I understood from the doctor. I could be wrong.”
“Something tells me you're not.” Before he can continue, you ask, “What is that kid’s quirk?”
“Delirium. It, summed up, is the ability to dull people's senses. And because of that, it causes delirium. Everything you felt was your own responsibility. The quirk just provided the circumstances.”
“The blue tint?”
“We suspect it’s a side effect for quirkless people. You were not as severely affected as everyone else. Maybe the tint is something to even encourage the mania. We don't know yet.”
Finally, a tear falls. “Shouta, I have never been so angry.” You whisper. “Does it also affect people’s health too?”
You have to know. Ochako may be alive, but Jay isn't. This is too much, too heavy to bear. He looks at you confused. "What?"
You prop yourself up. “Jay died from what I suspect is a peanut allergy. He got a physical and nothing came up. He's eaten peanuts before and suffered nothing.”
“Allergies can pop up at any age. The kid's quirk doesn’t do that. Jay's death was no one’s fault.”
Except yours. You start to breathe heavy. You want to blame this kid for everything. For Jay, especially. “Where is Ochako?”
He shakes his shaggy head no. “It’s not necessary for you to be around her now. Try to relax and rest after this.” You take a deep breath in an attempt to follow the former hero's orders.  “What direction did the boat go?”
Your foot starts to tap. “Straight, I believe. I couldn’t tell. That bastard’s quirk blocked the view.”
“He’s a child.”
“A villainous asshole," Your nose flares and breathing starts to become heavy. "People are dead and lost! Ochako left us!” Your heart is aching, face is warm, and lips are wobbling. Your time in hell is doing nothing but racing in front of your very eyes.
He scolds you for how you talk of the child. Normally you’d agree but your heart isn’t letting you think. The thumping is angry and sad. As the visions of the island pass, what’s next is even more horrifying. It is the past life you lived. Happy, brave, free, and all your friends are alive and truthful. They’re kind and compassionate. The heroes that they claimed to be and by God did they live by it. You see the smile that you will never wear again. At least not in the same way.
Yes, the kid lost control. But this went on for days. Did no one attempt to stop it? Is it still happening? How in the hell did no one on this God forsaken planet notice that this was happening? And honestly, if it affected the strongest heroes like this, you are terrified of what that kid would do next and who would even bother to stop it.
You get up and go out of the room. Shouta takes a second to get up to chase you. You look around the hallway. The doors to other rooms are closed and you have no idea where the boys are. They have to know about this bullshit. You turn a corner and find Ochako sitting there on one of the visitor chairs. She wears a light blue tank top and a pink sarong that is tight around her hips. You look at her hands that her head lay in and see her perfect, fresh, manicure. Her hair looks softer and more voluminous. There is a slight pink tint to her otherwise newly tanned skin. She stops bouncing her leg when she notices you in front of her.
You were thinking of a million violent ways to talk to her. How could she not say anything? She didn’t even attempt to help. She left everyone and didn’t call for assistance. On everything you love, you would have sworn she was gone forever. Her memory was one of the things that gave you that drive to fly Betsy again. Thinking of her honor and body being returned to her family gave you the strength to do your duty. Her body swinging around violently when she is thrown over hurt you in a way that can never be repaired. You felt so helpless and could have sworn she died.
And here she sits nervously looking at you with hope in her disgusting eyes. Swirls of chocolate brown stare directly into yours with a twinkle of light in them. Pleading for you to say something. Despite wanting to punch her in the face, you walk away.
She calls for you, crying, but you are gone. Let the bitch suffer in her guilt. There is enough for everyone.
_______
Everything that happened on the island was on the group. Behaviors, words, personal feelings, everything lies with you. Abandoning friends and the hatred was all true. Yes, it was brought on by a quirk, but the inner demons and beasts were real. The worrying blue tint was just a side affect of being you. Quirkless. It was just something to pin the terrible feelings on. A monster in the closet only seen by the useless one.
Now, you must pick up the broken pieces and walk.
Midoriya, the last you saw him in person, was in a state of shock and fury. He was very active in the search party for his friends. Kaminari wasn’t recovering as well as everyone hoped. Although his experience on the island wasn’t severe, it is the fact that it happened. And that his friends left him behind. Koda, out of everyone, was fine. Scared of planes but alright, nonetheless.
Shouto on the other hand, helped with the search but remained by your side. On the dark side of the island his personality never really changed. At the end, his inner rage and demons during the confrontation came out but that’s it. He remained with you throughout it all. And best of all, he understood why you didn’t help and separated yourself.
Jay's remains were found and decomposed. His family was informed and lost it. You were a coward and mainly avoided them. You showed up at the funeral but were towards the back. It broke your heart seeing his mom throw herself over the casket, asking God why he took him home so soon.
You want to know, too. And why God decided to make peanuts.
From time to time, you talk to your old friends, Denki, Koda, Midoriya, and Shouto. You found out that the search party was successful and found the boat after a week or so. The group needed medical attention but were okay overall. Traumatized and hurt, but fine. You don’t care to know anymore. After finding out that the kid’s quirk was just something to fuck you up, you left them in the past.
Everything they felt towards you was real. Had this never happened, you would never have known.
The whole thing just showed that left to your own devices, human nature would appear without a conscience. The confusion, the pull of the plane, all of it wasn’t real. Yes, Jay must have messed with the coordinates, but there was nothing wrong with the plane. It was in your head. Once you pieced it together, you felt so much guilt and even more anger.
Anyway, the kid’s quirk was so out of control that he had to be medicated for a while until Eraserhead and Shinsou got a hold of him and taught him how to control it. Surprisingly, you ran into him and he apologized. You told the kid he wasn’t at fault since he didn’t purposely do it, but he didn’t believe you. Guess guilt grabs hold of everyone.
Now, a year later, you’re here picking out fruit at the market. In the corner is a small tv with Deku on a show. He looks wide-eyed and nervous as always but in good health. The interviewer asked about the vacation, and he laughed it off with a shake of his head. Good to know that everything in hell stays there.
As you slap a watermelon, you can’t tell if it’s good or not. How do people do this? You're about to slap it again when a hand comes down on one. The noise grabs your attention. “Shouto?”
He hands you the fruit and says, “This one’s good.” For the longest you just stare at him. It’s not often you talk to each other, and you haven’t seen a hair of him since then. The rare times you talk, it’s on the phone.  Him coming out of nowhere and handing you a watermelon is a total shock.
He looks the same other than the warm look in his eyes again. They were snatched away on the island, revealing the coldness in them, just like they appeared in school. As it had turned out, he still had a lot of bitterness and anger. Not just towards his father, but everyone. God, he looked like Touya.
You take the fruit from his large hands. “How’ve you been?” You ask him this whenever you talk. It is just so rare to be connected to any of them. Especially now that you have been told your place in their lives.
“Doing a lot better. I’m in therapy now. I don’t know why it took me so long to do it.” You couldn’t understand it either. After all of the Todoroki business was aired out, you expected him to do it. It’s unbelievable that it took so long.
“Finally! I mean, not that there’s something wrong, but therapy is always good.” You try to cover up your miswording. He chuckles at your scrambles. That is another thing you haven’t heard in a while. You have so many questions to ask. So much to talk about over this past year. You want to confess your sins and stop running from what happened; to no longer bury your head but tackle it and scream. There isn’t a reason for you not to. However, you are becoming aware that it is harder to do it alone than it is with another survivor.
Maybe that's what you need now that you've seen that side of man: a good scream. Just not alone as you've been doing this past year.
“Want to have coffee with me?” You are surprised by your own voice. By the raised eyebrows and widened eyes, he is too. Yet, a soft smile on his face appears. You’ve missed it, dearly. You know that nothing will be the same and that the relationships that you once held dear are gone. How can they be salvaged?
“I’m not much of a coffee drinker. Can I have tea instead?” You nod with a slight smile on your face.
The watermelon was perfect.

Note
4, 17, 23 for the ask game! For Malevolent, and 17 as either Arthur or John :)
Yaaaaaay thanks!!!
4. Is there a popular pairing you don't necessarily dislike but aren't too invested in?
I don't think so??? I'm a multishiper so as long as it is fun any ship is fair game
17. What's a book, movie, or show you think [character] would like?
John and every romcom ever
Also unrelated but I think Yellow would have a blast reading Frankenstein (maybe Arthur as well)
Ngl I have the slightest feeling Arthur might had a goth phase (as in a goth literature phase, but now I want to see him in trad goth makeup)
23. Has your favourite character/ship changed over time?
YES! Kajdksjdaj this is funny actually, I used to think Arthur was so bland during s1 and the first half of s2 I did not care for him a single bit, I thought he was boring lmao. I was a John-only stan
After the second half of s2 I was starting to change and by s3 I was head over hills for Arthur
I still love John and I still side with him in most divorces (he's my baby, my protegee, my dearest eldrich creature, my love, my sun and moon, my-) but Arthur has me in a chokehold I'm obsessed with that man
