saw someone ask "is (x anime, i think it was fma which is very funny) appropriate for me to watch with my 14 year old sibling" recently and i was just like... That's crazy. anything is appropriate for a 14 year old.. i watched evangelion when i was 14 and im well adjusted. well im not but it's NOT eva's fault. most of the damage done to my teenage psyche was because of fandom for unassuming things that were definitely "age appropriate" for me. & i feel like watching or reading something a little too mature for you is part of growing up. idk 14 year olds can definitely think for themselves and dont need art gated off from them. like obviously young teens are not adults but they have functioning brains! they can analyze shows

I want to talk about something in regards to Flight of Icarus.
disclaimer: I fully read the book, slept two nights over it and enjoyed it a lot. There is a possibility of finding content on my blog from now on that contains lore from the story. My Eddie characterisations won't change much in their essence though since I pretty much head cannoned him like he's pictured in the book the whole time.
Okay. Let's go. No detailed spoilers ahead. Feeling jealous in the light of the romantic arch in the book or the mentiones of Eddie's experiences with intimacy is okay.
It's not a great experience I bet, but you're not being a bad or silly person simply for feeling that way. Many of us have built a deep emotional connection to this fictional character for all kinds of reasons. While I personally don't think that the fact that the book is coming from the creators of ST makes a difference to canon, I do understand that for some people the book has a different weight than fanfic. And that is ok too.
So right now, many people can't help but feel heartache or jealousy over the story. Emotions are not rational. And I am deeply sorry that some of you feel bad about something that used to be your escape and save space. That sucks.
However, we all have control over how we act upon those feelings. And being hateful or mean towards others (including the author) ain't it. No exceptions. I don't care for your personal reasons why you feel that way, I'm not your therapist, that is your business to deal with, but lashing out about your personal, very subjective feelings is just not the way to deal with them.
Slipping up can happen to everybody, and that is human, but there is a line when a slip-up stops being that. And accept the fact that nobody owes you to listen to your opinion. Accept that people might find your opinion a reason to stop interacting with you, even if you voice it in a civil way.
Find a friend who gets it and let out all of those feelings in a closed safe-space with curse words and shit. Get it out, cleanse yourself from that pressure. That's cool. Writing a fix-it fic that will get your emotions out? Ask an author who is comfortable with that to write something like that? Cool. Journal. Skip rocks. Work out. Angry clean your house. Throw darts at a copy of the book. Get creative without getting other real people into the crossfire. And then, maybe step away for a few days to let the dust settle and then come back and see how it feels. Oftentimes it's just like poking at a wasp's nest to keep leaning into those feelings and the pain and get all heated up again and again.
Give yourself some time. Be kind to yourself. But also be kind to others!!!
I believe with my whole being that kindness is the best fucking thing we as a fandom can practice right now. And nuance. Always nuance.
That book isn't a bad thing just because it makes you feel uncomfortable or because it didn't fulfil your wishes or expectations. You have the right to have your opinion but opinions do not exist in a vacuum.
Opinions can be hurtful and harmful.
They are not neutral - that's the whole point - so giving it a few moments of thought on how and where to voice them is imperative. Or if it's even necessary to voice them at all. It's ok to fuck up but own that and say sorry. Be kind.
Criticism of the book is valid, not liking the thing is valid, it's not about that. (Fucking hell I love discourse and meta and analysis.) It's about being mindful and responsible for what energy you put out into the world and how you treat real human beings. When in doubt, step back, give it time to cool. Making posts in the heat of anger is rarely a good decision.
We're all here to have a good time. Why do we keep tearing each other down about something we all claim to love?
It's not worth it.

Lucas's arc seemed like he deserved to be put in his place and recognize that he was wrong for believing he could hope for better? And they did not even focus in his character that much. Most people say Mike has a spectacular forced conformity storyline waiting for s5 when we had a forced conformity storyline for Lucas but it was so sloppily written. I thought the forced conformity narrative is suppposed to be written good in any case for poc too, not just for your white character that you send a message with.
it feels like the duffers just don’t care enough to convey a cohesive message for lucas’ arc and/or don’t know how because on the one hand they’ve acknowledged several times the racism he faces both on and outside the show so they can’t even play dumb and yet they then constantly downplay what he goes through and so you end up with scenes like the end of s4 where he basically learns to know his place or whatever like..lucas is not in same boat as someone like mike who’s mainly bullied for being a nerd. he’s ostracized in a way that mike and dustin will literally never understand but the show almost never makes any attempt to show how he deals with that yet it’s explicitly talked about in an official book from his perspective (and i know lucas on the line is not technically canon but it’s still tied to netflix/st and if they had someone in the writer’s room who could’ve incorporated even part of the type of material from the book into the show i think it would’ve done wonders to flesh out his story) like i’m sorry if you’re gonna acknowledge that his situation is different than the rest of the party’s then you need to put more care into following through with that because the whole “i thought i wanted to be like you—popular, normal” scene was just..it felt like they were insinuating his main reason for joining basketball was just to be cool when we know it’s a lot more complex than that; he was trying to protect not only himself but his friends too even though they don’t face the same shit he does. and possibly even enjoy something new in the process god forbid. and you would think that he was ditching his friends and other interests for the basketball team when that’s not what happened at all? like he never started acting aloof with them or ignoring them, he was still very much in hellfire and he never turned his back on them he even used his status on the team to lure them away from where eddie was hiding even though everyone was saying he killed chrissy and lucas didn’t know what was going on yet. he never let his desire to fit in turn him into someone unrecognizable who needed to be taught a lesson and that’s why it pisses me off so bad that he was made to feel this deep regret in the end as if he made some huge mistake that he learned from because in reality he’s never been anything short of a loyal friend or strayed from his morals. and to top it all off mike and dustin get off the hook without having reflect on how they hurt lucas because apparently you should never support your friends unless you fully understand and agree with the things they want 👍🏼 idk.
i also think his conflicting feelings about helping his (ex) girlfriend deal with her grief for her canonically racist brother who traumatized and literally almost killed him would’ve been really interesting and important to explore especially since that most likely relates to the reasons he started feeling like it was urgent to fit in more in the first place but. none of that because this boy’s feelings are never taken into account
i also think everyone should read all of this

It is tiring to be regarded as a 'homophobe' when you claim to not like a queer ship or say you do not think a queer ship is going to be canon & should not go canon. ST fandom has this type of fans especially Bylers and recently Ronancers. Sorry that I do not think Byler has a chance of being wrapped up in a nice way when the writers actively refused to even breakup Mileven in this season and intentionally added a confession scene on the show from Mike to El. We literally have 1 season left with everything else going on in a limited time frame but I am expected to be okay with the possible resolution of this whole thing, and should expect a nice wrap up where we supposedly will see Mileven break up, Mike and El moving on from each other, there will be a time for them to adjust to that, for Mike to consider dating Will HECK even for Will to consider confessing and dating Mike, for the writers to make that all believable to the audience in a nice way within the narrative.... and I am expected to like Ronance when Stobin is one of the most important platonic relationships on the show and we canonically know Nancy and Steve's break up was bad, and that Steve still has feelings for Nancy. I want to see representation, I really do but it feels like the fandom itself is bending any logic and sensibility to make a ship seem reasonable and make sense within the narrative... when it really does not.
God. Yeah. Like sure queer people can have internalized homophobia or intra community basis (like bi/a/trans phobia) etc but to say someone's a bigot just because they don't like the a fictional ship, or even that they just don't think it will be canon, is just silly and causing problems on purpose.
The intense blr shippers have really turned me off the ship, honestly. I have a few asks from them saved as drafts just to get them out of my inbox, and they're saying the same as others "we're fighting homophobia" "you're just as bad as people saying why don't we shut up about blr and ship mlvn if you don't think this has been part of a grand and epic master plan for the greatest romance ever" as well as just not understanding what the very specific phenomena of queerbaiting is, all telling me I don't belong in the ship because I don't ship it correctly. So. Makes me feel bad and really disappointed. People who ship mlvn (which my original post was also tagged, because it discusses them too) DIDNT come to my inbox and call me names or a fake shipper when I said I thought they should break up. Make of that what you will.
As much as Will and Mike getting together would mean to people, putting that much emotional weight and expectation and emphasis on a single aspect of a show, a single ship, is not healthy. It also, if it does happen, will not be the epic romance planned from the start they think it is. (We remember tjlc, right?? RIGHT??) If it happens it will possibly be slap dash and rushed, because you're right. There's a lot happening, the show struggles with ending/starting romances, and they are NOT the only characters that matter. The breathing room required for both Mike and El AND the audience to make the breakup feel real and that enough time has passed to not make Mike look like an asshole for immediately dating his ex's brother (and for Will not to look like an ass for dating his sister's ex?!?) Is now insufficient given how short the seasons are, and as you said, they should've broken up in S4 to pull that off.
And then the fandom would likely feel a bit cheated after building it up so much in their heads, only for it to be a bit of a flop. But I guess a lot of people don't mind how Nancy and Jonathan got together, so with the way some of the people in my inbox were talking about El then it could be like that too. Just. Not giving a shit if someone, a character I personally love, was really hurt and betrayed by her recently ex boyfriend and her BROTHER.
Pretending it was all fine because romantic love is the most important thing ever to them I guess. When it's not, especially in the show! Non romantic bonds are so important to these characters! It would just ruin it for me, because what I was originally saying was that Will, Mike, and El all mean so much to each other and actively try to not hurt one another (even if the do accidentally or end up hurting themselves) and that, because Will and El are siblings now, Will might think twice about dating Mike so soon after he broke up with El. It would make them look cold hearted and selfish tbh. That's why a good ending would be Will feeling comfortable enough to come out, and being accepted by his friends. (All of them not just Mike) and that final emphasis on the Party as a whole rather than individual Romo relationships.
It's actually very important to consider other people's feelings in everyday life, I think. Sure, ultimately they shouldn't dictate all your actions, but there will be consequences for some of them. They can lose friendships, or other relationships. It can also make a character look REALLY BAD.
For rnce, people go on about how Robin absolutely does not need to consider Steve's feelings in pursuing a girl. (Ignoring other issues people have with the ship that have nothing to do with Steve, lol) And sure. Okay. For every girl but the one that broke his heart, cheated on him, and who he still has feelings for that Robin herself encouraged. People are out here saying they could be endgame without completely ruining stobin's friendship like huh??? Do they understand Robin "what if we just combined" Buckley? Do they not care about the most important relationship in her life? Do they not care about her beyond how she can hype up Nancy instead of one of those icky boys?
A problem I have with rnce is that a lot of the writing saying it could be canon (which, lbr, it won't be. While I think blr may be canon just in a kind of disappointing way, I don't think there's any chance of rnce happening, especially with Vickie right there blushing and flirting with Robin) only focuses on how it would be good for Nancy, or if it's trying to make it seem good for Robin ignores their personalities and other relationships. Like Nancy isn't annoyed by Robin until Robin's speech gets them into Penherst, or that Nancy wasn't dismissive of Robin's ideas, and Robin wasn't clearly nervous and apologizing for being annoying in order to get Nancy to like her (tbh I think Nancy should have been the one pursuing a friendship with Robin instead of the other way around but alas). Tbh I could go on about how Nancy and her relationships and her needs/wants inside those are often misdirected? Misidentified? By fandom, and how that feeds into Robin being reduced to someone who supports Nancy (which, if people complain about Robin considering her bffs feelings about her dating someone, shouldn't they complain about her becoming a glorified cheerleader for Nancy...oh. it's because it's romantic. And some parts of this fandom value that most.) In rnce, which strips Robin of her personality and makes it boring. But this is already long haha (Not to mention it'd be super weird for Nancy to be dating her ex she cheated on and never actually told she cheated on him's best friend. Awkward!!)
I used to not mind rnce that much, tbh. I didn't get it and did think it was weird but the art was cute! And now it's sort of an alarm bells for people being weird about stobin.
Steve and Robin's relationship, like so many platonic relationships but more glaring with just how obsessed with each other they are, is often devalued by the fandom by virtue of the idea that a romantic partner needs/should be someone's number 1. Even though those two want to combine, and are seen taking active roles in trying to get them a romantic relationship, and are really the first person the other felt they could be completely themself around. They're the most important person to the other, regardless of their romantic relationship status.

In honour of Noah getting the first 3 scripts for Season 5, this is my Season 5 bucket list (I may be very early so this is my early one) I’ll try to make it as realistic as possible 😭
- Nancy survives.
This is the number one thing I need to happen, I will not be able to handle it if she dies
- I’m also very much on the side of I want everyone to survive.
Stranger Things is very much about the relationships between all of the characters, and it might not be the main part of the show but it is an important one and it’s what makes Stranger Things so great. I think it would massively suck if they were to kill any of the Hopper-Byers family after everything they’ve been through and Hopper losing anyone would just confirm his theory that he’s a “curse”.
- Ronance hug.
I need this like I need air. Nancy Wheeler needs a hug and I need Robin to be the one to give it to her.
- More Ronance scenes.
I mean obviously I ship Ronance so of course I want more scenes of them together, BUT I also really love their friendship. After Nancy lost Barb, Robin is the first girl she’s befriended that didn’t have romantic intentions and I think their friendship is really something special.
- Nancy to finally get closure with Barb and realise it wasn’t her fault
I realise she kind of got closure in S2, but I don’t think she really did. She clearly still blames herself, and what happened shaped her into who she is today. And we know she never really spoke to anyone about what happened because when she tried to talk to Steve he brushed her off. So I think she needs someone to tell her it wasn’t her fault.
- Nancy/Robin/Jonathan/Steve/Argyle team up.
This would be the team up of the CENTURY.
- Nancy/El scenes
I’ve needed this since S1. I think they’re quite similar in some ways and it’d be so nice to see them have some scenes together
- Jargyle scenes
I mean… they’re literally hilarious together. Imagine Nancy, Robin and Steve having to put up with high Jargyle 😭
- Not St*ncy endgame
Okay. Don’t hate me, and I’m sure this is pretty well known by now but I’m very much anti St*ncy and I’m not even sorry about it. Those two getting back together would feel like ten steps backwards and a dishonour to both of their characters. Steve’s character for the past two seasons has revolved around finding a girlfriend and I think he needs to realise that he doesn’t need a girlfriend and it’s okay to be on your own. It would also be a very misogynistic ending for Nancy. I could talk about this forever but I’ll just leave it at that. 😭
- JOPPER DATE!
Pretty sure David Harbour already confirmed this but I’m so excited to see Jopper in a relationship!!
- Mike being a complete menace to society and Robin getting to experience it
I mean, Robin hasn’t spent much time with Mike yet and I just think him being the little shit he is would be so funny for Robin to witness. I can just imagine her turning to Nancy and saying “You’re related to him?”
- Will/Robin scenes
This is an obvious one, but I think talking to Robin would help Will a LOT. I don’t know how likely it is to happen but I think it’d be really nice for Will to know he’s not on his own.
- LUMAX DATE!
I NEED IT. They arranged it last season and Max DIED so it’s only right they get their date in Season 5!!
- More Erica
Not much to say about this, we all need more Erica.
- More Hopper-Byers family
El finally has a family and somewhere she belongs, Hopper just came back from the dead. I need this family to be happy more than anything.
- If not Byler endgame, I need to see Will accept himself (at least somewhat) and finally be happy.
I like both Mileven and Byler, and honestly my opinion on who should be endgame changes on a daily basis based on the fans lmao. It would be awesome to see Byler endgame, but I would like to see Will accept himself and maybe come out to his mom??
- Nancy & Mike hug.
This has to happen. It has to. And not right before one of them dies either. Give me more Wheeler siblings. Perhaps a parallel to S1 when Nancy rushes out of the Byers to hug Mike but this time Mike rushes to hug Nancy??

Well, the wheel gave me a Speak Now song and at least it wasn't Never Grow Up?
Please enjoy some legitimate crack!fic that has everything and nothing to do with Romione, but Harry being the absolute GOAT of a best friend.
Song Submission #2 for @cruelsummer-ficfest
Song: Mean (Speak Now)
Ship: Romione
Harry stares at the obscene stack of paperwork teetering precariously on one corner of his desk. He’s long since given up when it comes to clearing the pile. He always figured if he could get through a handful a day that would be enough to suffice. After all, he joined the Aurors to be in the field, not in a stuffy Ministry office stuck behind an old mahogany desk.
But he and Ron both promised Hermione that for the next two weeks, they’d work from their desks to avoid any injuries. They couldn’t risk taking a case or going on a mission for fear that it might put them in a bed at St. Mungo’s, or worse, make either of them miss the wedding all together. While he doesn’t understand why he also has to follow these rules, he supposes he gets it. You can’t have a wedding without the groom, and perhaps Hermione thought she’d have a better chance at keeping Ron safe if Harry followed along. He wonders how much gold she slid Robards to approve the arrangement.
Though much to Harry’s chagrin, it seems to be working. Maybe there’s hope to get through the stack of paperwork by the time Ron and Hermione tie the knot after all. He grabs a report from the top of the pile and begins working, only to be interrupted five minutes later by the clacking of a wooden cane growing louder with each click.
What pompous piece of shit is strutting around the office now? Don’t they know we can’t be bribed anymore?
He tries to ignore the noise until there’s a pronounced throat clearing across from where he sits. Who could possibly be trying to make this day worse?
Draco Malfoy.
“Sorry, I think you’re lost. This floor houses the Aurors and DMLE. We don’t take bribes from old money here anymore. I’m sure you could try the Department for Magical Transportation if you’re that desperate.”
“Very funny, Potter. I’m not here for any Ministry matters. I’m here to ask for a…personal favor.”
Harry peers up at Draco. He’s up to something; he always is. “If anyone’s going to ask for a favor, shouldn’t it be me? Considering I’ve saved your arse how many times now?”
“Twice,” he says through gritted teeth. “And that’s neither here nor there.”
“So, what is it then?” Harry doesn’t have time to play any games. The quicker Draco asks whatever ridiculous favor he’s searching for, the sooner Harry can tell him no and send him on his way.
“I need an invitation to Weasley and Granger’s wedding.”
Laughter bursts from every fiber of Harry’s being. “Yeah, alright, Malfoy. That was a good one.”
“I’m serious.” Draco snarls his lips. His knuckles turn white as they grip the ornate handle of the cane a little too tight.
But seriously, what twenty-two year old walks around with a fucking cane?
Harry’s ready to say no, but the request is too good to not gain more information to take back to Ron and Hermione later. Maybe he’ll even pull the memory out so they can watch it in the Pensieve.
“Why?”
Malfoy glares at Harry, clearly contemplating his choice of words. “Because according to the Prophet,” he spits, “it’s going to be the event of the year.”
There’s so much pure hatred and disdain in the blonde’s voice, but Harry can’t help but notice a hint of…envy, is it?
“So?”
“So,” his nostrils flare, and Harry delights in how excruciating this must be for Malfoy, “If it is, then I need to be there.”
“Huh,” Harry ponders. “I didn’t realize ‘entitlement’ and ‘relevance’ were considerations when Ron and Hermione were creating the guest list.” He leans back in his chair and clasps his hands together. “I’m sure they’ll be horrified when they realize they’ve left such a prominent name in the magical world off the list and will want to correct it straight away.”
Draco is seething. “I’m sure there will be enough people invited where they won’t even know I’m there.”
“Right. And you thought asking me, their best friend, to help get you in would be your best option? After you called Hermione a Mudblood more times than I can count and hexed her teeth during fourth year? And you tried to fuck with Ron during fifth year with the Weasley is our King chant during the Quidditch season because Slytherin didn’t have a shot of winning fairly? Oh, and let’s not forget that you’d be attending a wedding where two-thirds of the guest list will be from the family you insulted over and over because they were poor.
“Sure, Malfoy, let me get right on sneaking an invitation your way. I’m sure Ron and Hermione would love to have you there.”
Draco purses his lips, the thin fine line barely moving as he hisses, “ A simple ‘no’ would have sufficed. It’s not like I wanted to be surrounded by filth anyway.”
He turns on the heel of his overly-polished toe and struts off without another word. Unable to contain his laughter anymore, Harry lets it out.
“And don’t worry,” Harry calls after him. “I’ll make sure the security detail knows not to let any ferrets in.”
Once Draco’s gone, Harry can’t help but shake his head, the lingering laugh lines still present on his face as he whispers, “Merlin, I can’t wait to tell Ron and Hermione about this at lunch today.”
All you are is mean
And a liar, and pathetic
And alone in life, and mean
And mean, and mean, and mean

ALL RIGHT! ANON FANDOM HOT TAKES!
eddie munson sucks
this one is utterly incoherent but bear with me - IF byler hadn't been planned from the start, el and mike's relationship would've worked IF hopper hadn't taken el in. hopper majorly fucked up a lot of her personal growth and her ability to function around people.
hopper should've died
the bungou stray dogs fandom is great actually
the kpop fandom is disturbing but fascinating and i want to study it
i have this insane respect for the marauders fandom cause like they built it from the ground up and if they changed the names and a little bit of the magic system it could be it's own series
yeah idk what this is sorry
THANKS FOR THE LONG ASK AAAHHH (accidentally made the reply super long srry lmao)
honestly i just dont give a shit abt him. like in a vacuum i like his character, yk he was kinda a pretty big asshole to my boy lucas and he sells drugs (idrc abt that one tho) but at the same time idk i do enjoy the idea of eddie being queer nd clocking will and/or mike nd trying to make them feel comfortable talking to him (even if that could be done just as well if not better with robin who is yk canonically queer and a way better character but idk) but all that is ignoring how fucking annoying his fans are like jesus christ why is he this fucking popular like half the fics in this godforsaken fandom r st€ddie (and look i am a shameless will-ship-smthn-based-off-of-one-small-momenter of the highest degree but i genuinely do not understand the hype for them like they literally looked at eachother twice and had eddie tell steve to get back with his ex how in the fuck is that romantic???) and yeah just he is insanely overrated in the worst possible way and the fact that this isnt even the worst case of this in this fandom just proves how much b*lly and his fans suck and yeah i did not expect to go on a huge rant abt this srry TwT
kinda agree kinda disagree. i do think it wouldve been possible for mlvn to work but i wouldnt say hopper taking el in is the problem i think ud kinda just have to rewrite alotta their interactions with some small things in the beginning but with a completely different dynamic in the later seasons (sidenote: honest to god if theyd just written hopper a bit better i would fucking love him as el’s dad like i love the found family trope and i do think they go well together but with the way he acts in s3 + the way their fight that culminates in el’s meltdown and him breaking the tv in s2 just yeah they rlly could’ve been done better)
no comment i dont rlly care (i dont hate that he survived but if he stayed dead i also wouldnt hate it)
yeah honestly while it has its problems ive been in waaaayyyyy worse fandoms and i do actually kinda like the vibe here (even if it has some of the dumbest shipping discourse i’ve seen. not the worst but the dumbest. usually surrounding my boy dazai which just bro that man is a whore ship him with whoever and no its not a proship to ship him with an 18yo bcz they have a kinda mentor/student relationship and no shipping him at 18 with a 24yo also isnt a proship bcz someone decided he was 16 or smthn which if u actually do the maths he was very much 18 and look i’m not a dazatsu shipper and odazai isnt my favourite dazai ship nor am i saying both ships r entirely unproblematic but dude this is why i dont wanna label myself an anti bcz u guys say shit like this anyways sorry that was a super long side tangent it will probably happen again)
again no comment, i know jack shit abt kpop
uhhh i hate everything related to hp so again no comment
again srry this turned out so long 😭

REACTIONS TO EPISODE 5 - THRILL OF DESTRUCTION
It's the usual biz, genuine "at that moment reactions", some jokes here and there and me appreciating Miruko and my other faves.
LAST EPISODE'S REACTIONS!
Onwards!
Just knowing the chapters this episode will possibly cover and I'm ready to freak out!
Staring off with a recap, starring Miruko!
X-Less, it was nice knowing you.
Okay, I'll admit it was a little funny Miruko just laid back down after Endeavor to stay still. Like, queen, you have done enough. LAY DOWN PLEASE!! I'M WORRIED FOR YOU!!!
Oh my gosh, Backdraft?!
Tumblr media
That little exchange between Present Mic and Eraserhead.
Maybe it's just me but Eraser Head is pretty here.
Tumblr media
X-LESS, YOU SHOULD HAVE RAN WHEN YOU HAD A CHANCE!!!
I'll be honest... I do not like that cape on Shigaraki. He just never felt like a cape guy for me.
On the topic of the cape, why didn't it turn to ash when X-Less did? Shigaraki's quirk can spread now! Oh, what, he can control it like that now?! I NEED ANSWERS!!
"It's cold." Yes, it would be after you spent so long in a large vial of pretty purple liquid.
Fatgum really tried holding Tokoyami down. 🤣🤣
How he just dropped Kaminari, Honenuki and Komori out his fat!!! 🤣🤣🤣
"I WON'T LET YOU STEAL A RIDE OFF FATAXI!!" I LOVE FATGUM SO MUCH!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dark Shadow sounded so sad. I want to hug Dark Shadow.
They... they didn't have to show Twice now. I do not want to cry right now. Unfair.
Mt. Lady just destroying walls while Dabi monologs. Hee hee, that's golden right there.
"Think about it, you BBQ'ed birbs." Oh wow, okay. You got jokes? 🤣
FATGUM RUNNING AWAY FROM MT. LADY'S ASS!!! "A BOTTOM!!" 🤣🤣🤣
Also, thanks, Geten, for unintentionally saving Tokoyami, Dark Shadow and Hawks.
Oh, he's pretty! Like ice prince pretty! Look at his lashes!!! Awww!!!
Tumblr media
Look, real quick, I know some of you don't like Hawks, but I swear if I see bad talk about Tokoyami I'll riot. He is just a KID who is unaware of Twice's backstory. He just knows Twice is a villain and right now the villains have to be dealt with for the sake of society. He's going to be concerned for his teacher, alright? You can't fault him for it and I'm so tired of this fandom for not understanding that. The characters are not going to know the other's backstories, alright? It ain't hard to understand. The villains and heroes just see each other as enemies. It is nothing new in the superhero genre. 🙄 So if you're gonna get mad at Tokoyami for being concerned for Hawks, if you're gonna get mad at Tokoyami for being SCARED, then I'm gonna need you to not come this way.
Now back to our scheduled program!
Ah, shit, Gigantomachia is standing up!
"I smell my master. He's... awake." That is actually creepy you know that.
MY GOTH BIRD SON GOT HIS TITLE CARD!! I gotta use those purples.
URARAKA, TOO?!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, Bakugou yelling at the old lady about the chocolate bun IS in the manga. That is not a new scene.
"You just want a chocolate bun, don't you?" Well, one, yes same! Two, the fact that he is aware of that is amusing and cute. 🤣🤣🤣
I will never get tired of Iida's arm chopping motions. So precious!! 💙
Aaaaw, Koda evacuating the kitties!! HE IS JUST TOO CUTE, THAT IS MY BABY!! MY SUNSHINE!!! 😭😭😭😭🧡🧡🧡🧡
Who... who is the airplane head guy?

(I apologise in advance for my possibly wacky English, I'm not native)
Ok so hi I'm sending you this cause 1 you're my favourite ST blog skdjsk and 2 I don't have an ST centred blog therefore this won't reach as many people yadayada
So idk if this has been said before or if it may be a reach but I was rewatching the shed scene from s2 where they have possessed Will tied up and Joyce, Jon and Mike are telling him these happy memories and shit and I was wondering if it maybe could serve as Will having powers proof?
Cause when he wakes up he starts screaming "let me go!!" over and over and the lights start to flicker like crazy, so we're supposed to think that's the mind flayer/vecna/whatever doing it. But the lights flicker in a way that kiiinda resembles morse code? So what if the part of Will that was still there was trying to do morse code by flickering the lights with his powers (trying to communicate by them as he did in s1) but realizing that he can't control them properly bc of a mix between not knowing how to control his powers fully/being possessed/vecna trying to stop him/him basically panicking, etc? And then he tries to do it with his fingers after the whole happy memories thing when it actually works
And of course, just as he didn't remember having the power to control the lights on the UD during s1, he doesn't remember controlling the lights there either cause idk cons of being possessed and shit
So yeah this might be a reach or something but idk I wanted to hear your thoughts on it
Anyways end of the rant, hope you have a nice day!! :))
Omg no need to apologize!! This is all super clear!! :DD 💕💗 I’m sorry about the delay in answering!
And HELLO AND THANK YOU SO MUCH OMG THAT MAKES ME SO HAPPY!! 💕💗💕 and hell YEAH!!
This is absolutely BRILLIANT, I never even considered that, the fact that you noticed that the flickering lights resemble Morse code blows my mind!!
I definitely think everything you’ve said here is plausible, and it fills a gap for me, because I always wondered why they not only showed the flickering lights in the shed, but also the lights flickering inside of the byers house- they may have been trying to draw a parallel between the shed scene lights flickering vs the season 1 lights flickering, both having been done via Will’s powers. And I especially think that what you’ve said makes sense because powers seem to be dictated by emotions in some circumstances (ie el breaking the windows during her fight with hopper), so Will’s high emotions could have been what triggered his powers at that moment. And it also makes sense that he wouldn’t remember using his powers because yknow. posssesed + the fact that he seemingly doesn’t remember using them in the upside-down in s1.
What you said about will saying “let me go,” also sparked a thought for me- what if there’s a double meaning to that? What if it’s not just the mindflayer (via possessed will) yelling at joyce and everyone to let him go, but also will yelling at the mindflayer to let him go, hence why he also uses his powers in that moment. Which would parallel to the scene where will initially got possessed on the field + took bob’s advice and started yelling at the mindflayer to leave him alone.
But yeah, I think this is brilliant and it makes sense!!! I love it!!!!!
Thank you so much!! I hope you have a nice day too!

Let’s start with the peak of the show:

youtube
Y’ALL LIKE BERSERK?????? WE SURE DO!!!!!! PLS LET US ADAPT IT!!!!!!!!!
no, don’t you touch my Berserk. But this scene is cool as hell. The rest of the season was a marked improvement over S2 and 3, but still hard to sludge through. This post is nowhere near as well structured as my previous ones (and even those were rambly) because I have just... mentally checked out. I think S3 broke me :(
One of the biggest problem of this season for me can be chalked back to one narrative choice: a time skip of six weeks. This was not a good choice, because now we see characters acting nothing like they did in previous seasons, and what should have been character development... just feels like OOCness. Some of the plots also feel rushed, probably because much more screentime is dedicated to fights now.
~
I’m so sorry, Trevor and Sypha, but you really got shafted in terms of story. Again.
Their subplot is the same as S3, helping a village: in this case Targoviste, the same where Lisa was executed. They extremely blatantly lampshade that all this time they did nothing but react instead of acting. Ngl, I skipped episode 7 because my god is their story boring. Yes, I shouldn’t have done that, but I really couldn’t stand it anymore. But I have to mention this scene:
undefined
youtube
It’s so dumb lmao. This is the best Ellis could come up with to explain why vampires hate crosses. They hate geometrical forms. This is Twilight levels of pseudoscience.
The “swearing rant” would be funnier if Trevor were the only one to swear like a sailor. Oh, Sypha says “shit”? I did not forget how she mused that she could make Trevor drink her pee way back in S1.
I like how Death is foreshadowed, by introducing it as a mythical figure Trevor and Sypha come across. And even better, one of Varney’s first lines: “I was one of Dracula's first loyal followers!” You sure were :D ... well, were this canon Death. It’s not.
I also was genuinely surprised that the Alchemist in the Infinite Corridor was also Death... even though I myself remarked that she looked like she could be Death! Okay, that’s on me for not putting two and two together, but that was cool.
I don’t like how both Caesar and Abraham seem to know Varney out of nowhere, though. Things happen offscreen.
Oh, wait, I of course have to post this video:
undefined
youtube
muh “at least it’s original”. Anyway, making him a superior villain using Dracula for his own means is an unnecessary change that devalues the original villain even more. But we're used to that.
Speaking of which, Jesus is their short time as the rebis hard to watch.
At least I have nothing bad to say about the Trevor vs. Death fight. Peak hype. Excellently done :>
St. Germain’s face heel turn is well foreshadowed. The Alchemist in the Infinite Corridor tells him that he can still has his morals, etics and soul left to sacrifice if he wants his wife back. And he says that he’d do anything to get her back...
I felt genuinely bad when he killed a librarian because he wouldn’t give him the information that he wanted, and he breaks down crying because he just murdered someone, and he’s starting to fall so low in his quest :(
Aaaaand he gives us this immortal line. Now this is what we call some true writing.mp4.
(I have no idea how Caesar came in contact with him though. Again, things happen offscreen.)
As a positive note, I did like how the second to last fight of the show took place in a clock tower, like in the original Castlevania :) and awww Trevor said "I love you!" to Sypha! Cuties <3 and they're going to have a child! My heart <3
~
Carmilla is back again! More or less. I sure didn’t miss her in S3. I’m very happy with her situation in S4, because she only appears in two episodes :)
She gives us the stupidest, pettiest villain rant she could give us, with the worst possible lead-in.
"Do you think Dracula would have kept Hector in his castle were he dangerous?"
"OH THE CASTLE. I SURE WOULD HAVE LOVED THAT CASTLE. HERE LET ME RANT ABOUT THE STUPID OLD MEN I WANT TO TAKE STUFF FROM. NOW I’M ANGRY AND INSANE OUT OF NOWHERE AFTER BEING OUT OF FOCUS IN S3."
So the villain of this #deep and #intricate show is literally nothing more than a generic supervillain who wants to conquer the world because she wants to, with a dash of good ol’ radfem. Okay. Good writing. I don’t care anymore.
And btw, Carmilla suddenly being wary of Caesar for having “a deviousness in him” and saying that “he could kill” is terribly out of nowhere. Where does this come from? She was the first one calling him puppy and all. Caesar did jackshit in S3. This is a horrible way to fix the mess that has been his portrayal.
(I do like how Caesar himself theorizes that Carmilla is now “overreaching” because being thirsty is a core trait of being a vampire, that's an interesting insight)
And then the bitch dies.
undefined
youtube
Yes, just like that. Eat shit in hell <3
But still, I’m not 100% satisfied because... she has appeared so little since S2. She did nothing in S3, and then she had her little radfem rant in S4. Why did she go insane out of the sudden? We don’t know.
And I don’t give a shit anymore. She’s dead, that’s what matters! :D
Striga and Morana get a little more focus this time, and the focus is them going like “shit, Carmilla’s plan was dumber than we thought”. Striga even, surprisingly, takes pity on all the farmers she kills in her Day Armor, and realizes that this is what she’d be doing the whole time if she followed Carmilla. Basically, they’d spend the rest of their eternal life fighting humans to keep control, since now they know that humans don’t go down without a fight. Not surprisingly, when Carmilla dies (and they think Lenore died too), they decide to run away and do their thing together without scheming. Go do your thing, girls.
Of course, I always reserve Lenore for later :)
~
If I had little to say about T&S, I really have nothing for Alucard.
Obvious reference to this iconic scene:

youtube
I get that you have a watersport fetish, Ellis. Cut that out.
Well, his depression lasts only the first episode, just enough for him to change into a costume that is very similar to his SoTN one, but shirtless because why not. Then we meet Greta of Danasti! Yes, completely unrelated to the one C3 character not included in the show. She’s your typical badass woman who takes no shit from no one.
Nothing to say about his subplot either. It’s boring, I can’t keep up, I skipped episode 7. I really have no more patience. Sorry, man. And the main trio gets back in S4E9, after being separated ever since S2E8! I think that weakened their otherwise touching finale.
Oh, right, and his big trauma over being raped and nearly killed is mentioned in passing conversation as a noodle incident. Greta even lowkey jokes about it.
As I said, it was nothing but fetish fuel for Ellis to masturbate to :)
~
Abraham was the arc I had the second most interest in. This dude is beloved, and for the life of me I can’t understand why. And... I think I cracked it :) but still, even with very limited screentime, he ends up being the best character of the season.
Abraham tells us very plainly (well, to the statue of the defeated Magician) how much he changed... as if we couldn’t tell by his sudden and unexplained care for burying the people too rotten to forge because he sees them as victims, or how he sympathizes with FlysEyes and doesn’t want to see him as a tool (interesting how it’s reserved to the only night creature who can talk like a human... does it mean that the other creatures have human sapience as well?). He reasons himself into an interesting conclusion: he has agency, and he liked the feeling of righteous justice when he killed the Magician, so he will try to change the world for the better. This is a fairly good direction to take his character in! But I can’t help but feel that it contrasts with the cackling Abraham of S3E9. Again, time skip.
“You believe you’re tools of destruction only because this is how your kind has always been used” is a very good line to associate to any Devil Forgemaster, though :) I like to imagine how Hector or Isaac would react to this.
While I still have some issues, Abraham reaches his peak in episode 6. He gives up his plans of revenge on Caesar, which is a shame as I would have liked to see them fight, but I understand that they wanted to confirm that Abraham holds no resentment in his heart anymore... if only that time skip didn’t happen. His fight against Carmilla is the stuff of legends <3 and then there is his long speech about the conclusion he reached from his journey: in short, he wants to live life. And I was touched, I really was. While I’m still irked by the time skip, it felt seriously cathartic, helped by the wonderful acting. Good for him :)
So, what was Abraham’s arc in the end? He’s a man who in the past went through a lot of pain and hardships, but is now peacefully living his life, until a person he deeply cares for gets killed and he’s unable to do anything to save them. Enraged and heartbroken, he sets himself on a destructive quest for revenge against the person who ruined his life, being an ultra competent, badass fighter and kicking ass left and right... but he meets kind people along the way, and he eventually learns to let go of his hatred. He also, after following Dracula for years and considering himself separate from humankind, realizes that he’s more than a tool: he has agency himself. He gains the strength to acknowledge that Dracula was wrong, leave him behind, and become his own person. He finally accepts his own humanity.
Wow, so peak, so raw, what a deep character arc! But... doesn’t it sound oddly familiar...?
Tumblr media
Yeah.
I don’t want to hear a peep about how Hector is nothing more than a generic “badass”, if you then turn around and call Abraham one of the best characters in the franchise. All of you who love Abraham? You actually love Hector and you just don’t know it.
I’m not even touching the meta cruelty of taking Hector’s compelling character arc away from him and transplanting it into an OC that pretends to be Isaac, leaving a shell to be tortured in Hector’s place.
That final Abraham monologue touched me, but Hector had by far the most organic character arc, and it deserved to be properly depicted in the show.
(I could also compare his arc to Guts’, since Hector is basically a simplified version of Guts anyway lmao.)
(I will admit, though, that Abel kicked ass here, an excellent use of a very underutilized element of CoD)
Speaking of which...
~
I kept reading that Caesar became a Magnificent Bastard in this season, which absolutely baffled me: him? Magnificent?? No way. I can confirm now that this season felt like a long, long apology letter to how Caesar was written, because he’s suddenly sassy, demanding, has no patience for anything anymore, and came up with a clever scheme to take down the Council. I could actually start calling him Hector now.
By the second episode he’s already seen walking around and setting special stones in cracked walls. He’s depicted, for the first time in forever, in a dignified way, even blackmailing someone to get what he wants in a deal. In episode 6, she cages Lenore and flaunts that he was not to be trusted! He even cuts off his own finger to get rid of the ring, which is a super chad move! Yep, this is a new Caesar, everyone! I should be happy, right?
No. Well, okay, I am a bit, because he is genuinely badass and witty, but... You know what this is? This is the Netflixvania equivalent of that scene in Sonic Frontiers where Tails, out of nowhere, starts crying that he’s “wildly inconsistent” because recently (as in, in games penned by Pontaff) he hasn’t been at his best self. That scene, praised by everyone, was nothing more than Flynn smugly declaring that oh, he has fixed Tails, don’t you worry guys! I managed to make his badass decay intentional! Now, under my supervision, he’ll be the good ol’ Tails you always wanted! And I’m not happy about it, it feels too self-congratulatory and meta.
Lenore, on the other hand, is a brat. She’s childish, immature, always pouting, constantly swearing like an edgy teen girl, and nothing like her clever, elegant S3 self. See, it’s her turn to angst now, that she’s not needed anymore! I wish you weren’t, you horrible piece of shit.
Same for Caesar here. The change from “good boy” Caesar to “scheming sassy boy” Caesar is too sudden, and it happened off screen. Abraham even spells it out for us (because of course he does) that he knows that Caesar had no agency back then and was manipulated, a line so meta that I could see Ellis smiling to himself, and that’s why he holds no more contempt for him; Caesar himself years to make up for him mistakes. The six week time skip! I hate it! Why can’t we see Caesar grow a spine? I would have so loved it!
And then she peaces out in the finale because whoops, turns out that she doesn't like the life that she wanted to subject Caesar to! Remember the enslavement part? I'm not sure you do. At least phrase it like "I'm all alone, I miss my sisters, I've realized that I never did anything good in my life and maybe I never will", not "oh noes I'm in a cage :(".
If I can praise Lenore’s suicide for one thing, it’s how it was foreshadowed in S3, with her talk about not missing the sun as a vampire. That was a good parallel.
And I guess it’s time to address the elephant in the room: Lenector.
undefined
youtube
This is their first interaction in S4. Lenore acting like a spoiled brat out of nowhere, and Caesar indulging her dick jokes and talking to her as if they were an old married couple already. Later on, she even vents her personal issues to him, and most baffingly, Caesar cares so much about her that he begs Abraham to spare her, and says that he wants to spend time alone with her.
Dude.
What the fuck?
How can you go here when the last time we saw them, THIS happened?
undefined
youtube
You can’t jump six weeks and go from “I made you into my pet” to this equally balanced, respectful dynamic!
No.
This is horrible. It looks like Caesar just forgot everything that happened. How con-fucking-venient.
And shut the fuck up Lenore I want to strangle you with your hair.
"You were the last problem I had to solve!"
"Yes, thanks again for that." *shows magic ring that enslaves him*
"Oh, shush. You were having fun."
"Right until the end."
I want to stab someone and then set them on fire. Great, let’s all joke about Caesar’s trauma of having a deep moment of vulnerability and weakness taken advantage of! It’s funny! One month and a half is enough to make it into a cute memory, right? Right? :’D
"I think [Carmilla] lied to me."
"Just like Dracula lied to me."
I can’t be the only one who can’t accept this no matter how well written the dialogues are (and they aren’t, Caesar has his good moments but Lenore is insufferable) because I keep screaming “YOU RAPED AND ENSLAVED HIM A MONTH AGO!!!”, right? Well... I guess I am, since Lenector is one hell of a popular ship :\
Look at this blatant attempt to connect them. I don’t know how else to convey my sheer rage.
"I'm sorry for everything you went through" oh like him being tortured by your sisters, you beating the shit out of him, and the whole raping and enslaving? :)
I have my problematic ships. I have quite a few fucked up ships, most of them involving power imbalance because I am weak for that. The thing is that, I like them because they are fucked up, and I don’t ignore that element to make the relationship cuter than it should be.
I never get the feeling that Lenector shippers acknowledge this part - in fact, I’ve seen plenty of people denounce S4 as bad because those two “deserved a happy ending”.
Uhm. No. They did not. Well, Caesar did, but Lenore sure deserved to suffer a little more. I don't buy her changing attitude from vampire enslaver to cute little girl who really cared about Caesar all along.
Oh, but apparently, Lenore never touched Caesar again after she put the ring on him! That's the general assumption, it seems. So that explains how Caesar is so buddy buddy with her :) that’s how it works, right?
So... This was season 4. I'm sorry this post feels so flaccid. While the finale was good, I'm just glad to be done. Watching the show was an utterly miserable experience, and I'm glad I had people keeping me company. At least now I have proper context for this very popular part of the franchise.
Bleah. Lenector is officially in my list of ships that squick me out. Get that away from me, my man deserves better. I'm so glad that in canon he finds two wonderful women who support him and make him realize he's worthy of love :)
~
As a final note, the decision to bring back Dracula and Lisa is... Why? What's the point? It nullifies their tragedy and I'm pretty sure this change fucks up the later timeline. Unless Dracula will just decide to kill humans for shit and giggles after Lisa's death? What excuse will they come up with in Nocturne to include him, if they will? This was just peak "Let's make everyone happy".

sorry if you’ve already answered this, but what characters do you think will die in st s5?
I've talked about it at length on Twitter (even before S4 came out) and honestly I can't see a single death among the regular cast. And I can see people disagreeing but, to me, it's just not that kind of story and never has been.
I mean:
El and Hopper are most likely safe because they've "died" before and it wouldn't feel genuine, and Max isn't going to die again when there are only 8 hours left and she's already in a coma.
The Byers have been the main family the audience can empathize with since the beginning, and they're not going to kill off Joyce or her boys because it would break her. That said, Will is at risk because of the UP connection.
They've already said Mike is safe -- There are some characters you just can't touch. As much as people want to hate the kid for some reason, the Duffers love him and he's their surrogate. (Not to mention the cascade of shit it would cause.)
Lucas, Dustin, Erica, Nancy and Robin are all clear for one reason or another. The boys (and Erica) have plot armor because they're the 'kids'. Nancy is more than likely safe; she's been a driving force of the show since the start and I can't imagine her not making it through the final battle. Robin might be a possibility if she wasn't both the only out character and had not been around long enough to have a real impact. If anyone is going, it'd be a season/two-er.
Karen, Murray, Owens, etc. are all up on the chopping block tbh, but really the one main character who could bite the dust and (I say this light) shock the audience...
... is Steve. He's an original, had a great-to-middling arc, and he has connections to several characters. But he's not actually tied to them. We've never even met his family. He's technically disposable, and that sucks. But he's probably also safe because he has the advantage of being a/the fan favorite and even though the Duffers claim to never pander to fans, they do when it comes to Steve. That's why he's still around cracking jokes, being a full-fledged himbo.
Really... I don't think any of the key players can die. And this whole "gotta kill off people! there's no stakes! blahblahblah!" thing people go on and on about is just mind-boggling to me because, like, what show have they been watching? Those dudes love their own characters too much to kill them. They've proven that. It's why they bring in new meat. This isn't based on a book -- there are no deaths to check off a list. It's rooted in 80s coming-of-age movies and horror. How many of those end in actual tragedy? That's what it would be to kill off one of these characters.
So the problem isn't that they don't kill off enough characters or ones that have actual meaningful arcs. It's that they can't because their storylines are so intertwined that it would cause a whole chain reaction of sadness. This doesn't happen with most shows, etc: If you kill off the Love Interest to the Hero, it's not going to ricochet to every other character in the series.
Throw in the fact that there's a limited timeframe to do it in, which means the story has to be condensed and concise. Short and sweet. You kill Mike -- the glue of the show. I will keep repeating it -- and it affects his family, his friends, and Eleven. And if you send Eleven off the deep end, Hopper's arc gets tossed out the window too. This affects Joyce, then her boys, then Nancy, and no matter which order you put them in they all directly have an effect on each other. You can't have a bittersweet ending if any of these characters die -- The bitter has to do with either El's powers or Hawkins or these people who've all become family having to separate. Not death.

I wanna know your headcanons for a little shop of horrors byler au 👀
HI ANON YOU ASKED THIS LIKE A MONTH OR MORE AGO AND I SAVED THE RESPONSE AS A DRAFT AND FORGOT TO POST IT IM SO SORRY
anyway omg okay I have SO much enthusiasm to talk about this
(also for anyone reading this who doesn't know LSOH very well, there's not many characters in it, so some of them are going to be left out unfortunately)
so my instinct for Seymour was Will because of like, everything about him screaming Will energy lmao. And having Mike as Audrey the damsel in distress is fun. but I thought about it and couldn't make the rest of the story fit as well so Seymour is now Mike. I don't think Will could kill someone to get what he wants, even if they were a bad person; Mike possibly could though. So Mike is Seymour. honestly i genuinely cant choose who fits which role better but im commiting to mike for this post
Which makes Will as Audrey hahaha. this fits better too because while he's not dating any abusive partner to play as the dentist, his dad was abusive as hell. But the dentist, while he's very abusive and a huge bastard, does get the best comedic song in the entire thing, so I'm gonna make him Dr Brenner and say that he's not dating Will (because ew) but Will is his secretary or nephew or something and Dr Brenner manages to fuck with him that way.
(this would also mean that will isn't working at the plant shop with Mike, but that's fine he just spends way too much time there)
I think Jonathan would make a good Mr Mushnik - it'd give will two reasons to be in the shop, and Mr mushnik's main job is to tell Audrey that the dentist is a dick and to get rid of him, and to give Seymour/Mike shit. jonathan would be perfect in this role.
the plant Audrey II would probably be named Henry or Dart in this to fit the vibes of the powerful creepy entity that eats people, but Mike could equally name it some nerdy dnd stuff
the plant manages to eat Brenner and also possibly jonathan ( :( story purposes) but i also think its very plausible that dustin would rock up and get eaten because he tries to befriend it ala d'artagnan the demodog.
for anyone interested heres my st x lsoh fanart of will holding audrey ii

thanks loads for the quick response, you were so lovely!! 🌸 as i said i’m just starting to educate myself so i don’t want to get things wrong or support someone who doesn’t deserve it. for example, Eliza.. like im still confused about this other topic bc i’m not interested enough, my heart already belongs to Alycia and i mean Alycia only, so… that’s what i’m focusing on. okay so basically that’s what i thought, the “could’ve handled it better” was about her not actually handling it at all, in a way, which i like to believe has nothing to do with her “hating” lexa (it’s something i keep reading online and idk where it comes from) or her fans. Bad advices and likely her trying to save Jason’s a** lead her to shut the discourse. but if this makes sense for the first weeks/months following lexa’s death, what i don’t understand is why she did seem annoyed when fans brought up lexa to conventions etc. but if she hated the fans and/or lexa, i can’t possibly believe she would’ve ever accepted to come back to the show for the finale. she came back bc she cared (about lexa, i mean SHE played her for gods sake, it must be hella important for her as well!!) and knew it was important for the fans, i guess. I’m almost scared to talk about this as i know Eliza’s fans are mad about it and especially Eliza/b0b supporters (i’ve seen enough on Twitter dear lord) but if what some people say is true, that he asked Jason to fire her bc he was jealous of her success, then maybe HIM being fired was also one of the reasons she willingly came back? like don’t get me wrong, i’m sure a big fat paycheck played a huge part too 😅 but trying to add more pieces to the puzzle here, as i really know like 40% of what happened behind the scenes with Jason and all when lexa was killed off, so again, i’m sorry if this always ends up being super long but i’m trying to do my homework here 📋🖊️ (and you genuinely are super kind btw which i’m super grateful for 😭)
I have never opened my mouth about the E and B topic because I am not about to open that can of worms or invite their fans to fight me here. I was a huge E fan and just a week before all the shit came out i was talking to a friend about how i wish clarke and her got the same love Lexa and Alycia do... that came back to bite me in the ass real quick 😅 you guys know how much i love Clarke but damn was it impossible for a bit there for me to be able to watch clexa and clarke scenes again and be able to seperate e from Clarke. We clearly got there tho 😌
In a way, I can understand why she was a little annoyed at cons. Alycia never went to a con with the main intent of talking about Lexa, she was on FTWD, she was probably very excited about it and was sent there to talk about it and yet every question she got was about a character that st that point she had not played in maybe a year if you account for the time between filming and the episodes coming out. And its probably nerve wracking to have a room full of people who care so deeply for a character and that are part of a community that is marginalized and her having to say the right thing. Not to meantion like most actors sometimes the line betwwen Lexa the character and Alycia the actor got a little blurred and i get the sense Alycia is the type of actor who wants a clear separation between herself and the character. Maybe wrongly so she tried to distance herself from Lexa not because she hates the fans but because it was what she and others around her felt was right for her career having just started on a new show.
We know B was most likely fired but I doubt that he was the reason why Alycia left. I truly think Jrot believe he was doing something with Lexa's death and that he was telling a epic story, i really think any other story of B wanting her gone and what is now know its false about her not being able to do both shows (AMC was ready to let her continue on the show, i wish i could link you a source to this) - making Alycia agreeing with Jason probably just PR trying to not cause a drift. Alycia (and Jason) kind of alluded to the fact that there had been chances for Lexa to come back before but that Alycia didn't feel comfortable with it and I do think that shows that she respected the fans and didn't want to be used as a prop to make fans to watch the show again. Her being in the finale was a surprise (well, not to me and many others because it felt like there had been hints being dropped for a good while). While i dont doubt the nice pay check wasnt an incentive Alycias entire message for the shows finale felt very sincere to me and very clearly dedicated to the fans. Blorke/B/E fans (well, B fans, lets be real here they only care for her because shes with him, they used to call her names before that) think that just because Alycia is both rather private and doesnt try to take fans money left and right that she hates her fans and hates Lexa. I just think that Alycia didnt really speak up when it was the time for it for whatever reason - i dont think it was out of malicious intent but i do think she should have said more - and talking about it now would just come across as trying to stir something up unless it was directly asked of her to talk about it. Id like to think she has proven herself an ally and a decent person where i dont think she has to talk about Lexa for me to consider her "forgiven" for not speaking up back then.
No need to say sorry, i totally get trying to understand what the fuck happened in this fandom of ours 😅 i just hope im saying things accurately because i have been here since mid 2015 so some things really get blurry around the edges. There used to be master posts or something im sure that explained things because this was a whole thing that last through most of 2016.
☺️ i might not remember or know how to answer everything but if you have any more questions about the fandoms history and if i can help and respond, feel free to ask me! :)

To be fair, never in my life have I been able to pick just one if anything so here’s my top 5 of your fics that definitely jumped out as favorites after a quick look through of your master list. In no particular order: (1) Sitting Target: there aren’t many fics that have this type of hold on me I hope you know that (2) One Man’s Pride: regal being angsty and protective? Sign me the hell up (3) Words of Encouragement: sign me up for teasing as well cause holy shit does this one scratch an itch in my brain (4) Needy: the sheer happiness i felt when you wrote for mox. Especially a young mox??? 😍Girlie pop Ive been in love with man since I’ve first seen him so I love you and your brain for those fics (5)Unwind : I like needy what can I say 🤷‍♀️ it also came at the perfect moment as I was in the processes of falling in love with our little yuta when you posted it lol
MEAHAHAHA YOU'RE ALL FALLING INTO MY TRAP OF WANTING TO HEAR FEEDBACK AND GETTING TO RAMBLE ABOUT MY FICS MWAHAHAHA
(Also mood bad bitches can't decide on anything we are bad bitches sjwkskskwl)
1. (*on my hands and knees*) SAME AND I'M SORRY I STILL HAVEN'T WRITTEN A SEQUEL. Believe me I have ideas! Some horny, some angsty, some both! But nothing has felt good enough o actually put on paper because I'm scared it won't be as good as ST. I'm still amazed by the way I wrote him in that and I don't know if I can keep it up in a sequel but I still wanna try Wahhhh
2. ONE MAN'S PRIDE?!?!?!? oh my gods I didn't think that'd be anyone's favorite but thank youuuuuuu. I need to write for raw gm Will more. I only have one idea for him and it's actually kind of a sequel to this. ...and of course it's smut. Angst-laced smut, but smut nonetheless ejrjejej
3. I NEED TO WRITE MORE FOR STEVEN HE'S SO CUTE. Plus every version of Steven/Will where he's super arrogant just makes me want to put him in the most submissive situations possible he's so cute as a sub
4.(*gently holds*) Young Mox! I never have any ideas for Big Mox so that's partially why I only write for Dean and Young Mox when it comes to romantic stuff ejekwkqka. These were all mostly written because @faggotmox let me ramble about him too much
5. Yutaaaaaaaa. Believe me I still have thoughts about him sometimes But I never have anything to do with them so they just run around in my head getting on my nerves ejekwkwkwk

Get ready for A BIG List of books.
The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.K. Clume I can't recommend this book enough. Found family, gay, screw the beaurocracy, a little bit of fantasy, and all around just amazing. Quite literally my comfort book.
Illuminae Files by Amy Kaufman and Jay Kristoff Sci-fi, told via documents. Funny but also action packed. Also a little bit of found family. (the last scene in the third book kills me /pos) Warning for violence and some gore.
Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel Idk what you'd call it genre-wise, but possibly the best-written book I have ever read. Gorgeous writing, and a beautiful story. Warning for world-ending plague, so maybe don't read it in early 2020 if you have anxiety. (cough, cough, like i did)
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo My favorite book of all-time, I think. Found family, LGBTQ+ and POC rep, hillarious, amazing plot, incredible characters. Idk how much more i can say, since I think just about everyone has heard about this book by now. Let me just say that the TV show is shit compared to the book.
Viscious by V.E. Schwab (and sequels: Vengeful + ExtraOrdinary) morally grey found family. An AMAZING take on superpowers (you get powers by dying and coming back (heart stops but restarts),and your powers are determined by your last thoughts). MAJOR warning for violence, though. And one animal death.
Ranger's Apprentice Series by John Flannagan Technically middle-grade, but I adore them deeply and they still hold up as entertaining to me now at 18. Lighthearted and quick reads.
Anything by Rick Riordan (if you haven't read Percy Jackson, what are you even doing with your life? /j /lh)
Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein Women pilots and special operatives during WWII. Amazing, incredible, still rips my heart out even after ~4 readings.
Okay, there's my huge list of suggestions, adjakdjs. I'm so sorry for making you read all of this. And sorry for it being 99% sci-fi/fantasy, but those are really my favorite genres.
~ Morri 🗡(@memento-morri-writes)
CANNOT thank you enough for all of these omg.
the house of the cerulean sea sounds really REALLY good!!!! i mean it's literally all i love in a book so i will def check it out :DD
and i've heard of illuminae!! it was recommended to me by a close friend, i'm glad to see you've liked it too :D AND it's in the form of documents 👀👀👀 officially intrigued fkjfsjkdjks
[morrigan WHY. would you do that to yourself. smH. i am gently patting your head.]
I'VE READ SIX OF CROWS!!!!!!!!! it was INSANE and it made me so unbearably happy when i tell you i was grinning for the next week after reading the book i'm not lying. and yeah, the show definitely doesn't do it justice. hopefully we'll get more of the crows in the second season 👀
viscious, [you know how many times i typoed that one word. sigh] from what i've heard, sounds AMAZING and also that is a very interesting way to get powers, it's the first of its kind and it's a very cool origin story tbh. also morally gray characters my beloved <33
i haven't read the ranger's apprentice, but i have read the outcasts series by the same author!!! and i remember getting a sneak peak into the first book and being really intrigued. more incentive to read it now :DD
!!!! that sounds beyond cool, and any book that still incites Feels after many rereads is one worth reading.
i have read all of rick riordan's books!!!! it's been ages since i've actually sat down and reread all of them because i read most of them in elementary school [in like second-third grade] and i still remember how i tore through the whole blood of olympus series in like four days. i was obsessed with the riordanverse. to say the least.
no do not apologise!!!! i haven't read enough fantasy for how much i write it and it's one of my favourite genres, and sci-fi, when done well, is right up there with the others :DDD so thank you!!!!! so much!!!!

cw's for therapy talk, brief psych abuse mention, lot of talk about our current T being too good for words. despite that there are in fact a lot of words.
H o l y F u c k
Our therapist has been operating in a slightly gray ethical area by continuing to see us since we moved; something about provincial licenses and special dispensations (it's really only gray because bureaucracy is slow, he deemed it necessary to keep working with me for my own health and has been working to get a special license, paid a bunch of fees, etc. etc., the wheel of time turns, seasons pass).
The College is asking him to find us someone local to work with within a year, and when he asked if we would be okay with that, someone just started wailing and crying and saying no. Aaron (hello) had no idea what was happening or why, just bottled it all back up and went sort of, "... sorry? No, I don't think that's a good idea and we'd rather keep working with you."
(And our T was nodding and like yyyup that's what I thought.)
Two things just hit me like two different trains:
Our first psychiatrist worked with our stepdad and betrayed our trust so extremely that I am fighting to find words even mentally for it;
Our current T believes us about everything and had to vouch, to colleagues, that even the conspiracy-theory sounding-shit is real and we will not feel safe trusting MH professionals here.
I am gobsmacked. That he has this much faith in us, I think? That he believes us and what we've told him, that he will vouch for it and us before others, and advocate for our safety like that. I also feel like I shouldn't be surprised at all; he's fact-checked our memories for us when we've asked. When, lmao, the first time St. had a session with him and started vindictively listing off the names of the men responsible for a lot of it, our T started googling them and went oh my god, all of these are real people, everything you're saying lines up, and he has never wavered since. Our T has ALWAYS believed us.
This just feels like monuments shifting internally. Tectonic plates colliding somewhere. It's not just real to us, and it's not just real to our T, it's... really-real. It happened enough to be official, somewhere. It has been taken out of this thing between ourselves and made more concrete in reality, or. Something. This is hard.
Most of all is the fact he is doing everything he can to protect us from even the slightest risk of us being back in that system.
I don't know! The amount of care is overwhelming. The revelation that I was abused by a psychiatrist on its own is fucking overwhelming but in a much more, memories always feel familiar even when they're distressing, way.
Nothing about someone caring about us like this feels familiar.
Everyone gives our old host shit but holy fuck. He knew he was losing his mind for some reason, read all the signs right despite the severity of dissociation, and lucked us into the best trauma specialist possible four years ago. I'm sort of as grateful for that old host as I am for our therapist at this point.
