Listen! Tharn has horrific trust issues and doesn't trust anyone, not just Phaya okay!
Like he clearly doesn't even trust Yai and the Abbot because of his issues! Because yes he knows Yai, basically his brother, believes Phaya would rather die than hurt Tharn so much he flat out told Phaya he can't die cause he already gave him Tharn to protect. And yes he knows the Abbot, who raised him, has continuously told him he needs to fully trust Phaya will take care of him. But he has trust issues okay! Those just don't go away! He can't just trust Phaya okay!
Though he does trust Chalothon and thinks he's a good guy. Even when he knew about Phaya's dreams that only Tharn knew about and basically accused Phaya of losing his mind, clinically, in front of everyone at their work at a crime scene. But it obviously makes complete sense he trusts him implicitly and never questions anything cause he's known him his whole life! That's not something you can just throw aside for some boyfriend, soulmate or not, you know!
But then, wait...why doesn't he trust Yai and the Abbot the same?
Tumblr media
But I'm glad he knows Chalothon is the problem now. Sucks for him about everything because of it. Hope it works out for him in the one remaining episode. Don't really care either way anymore regardless.

Headcanon: How do they cook for you? (Pedro Pascal characters) 🥕🧑‍🍳🍓
Tumblr media
🍳 Joel Miller
Joel is not the best cook. Of course, he had to learn how to cook for Sarah, but he always kept things simple.
He is a supporter of one-pot meals. What he cooks for you is really delicious, but simple. There is no culinary madness about it. That's why Joel prefers it when you make dinner.
But it doesn't bother you anyway. Especially since Joel loves making breakfast for you. Whenever he can, he will get up earlier and make you a delicious breakfast: scrambled eggs, pancakes, waffles... Everything you like.
And if he finishes making breakfast and you're still asleep, he'll bring you breakfast in bed. He will kiss your forehead and whisper, "Get up, baby girl. I made you coffee and breakfast."
From time to time, Joel will also take you to your favorite little restaurant. This way neither of you has to cook and you can enjoy your time together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🍽️ Oberyn Martell
Cooking is the last skill he needs, which is why he can't cook. As a prince, he never had to worry about this. Food was always served to him on silver trays. Even when he was a warrior, he didn't have to worry about it.
Of course, if he and you find yourself in a wild desert, he can easily hunt something and roast it over a fire. He would never let his Queen starve to death.
However, you can't count on Oberyn to stand in the kitchen and prepare something for you.
On the other hand, you don't have to do this either. Just tell the servants what you want and your dish will be brought to you after a few minutes.
Oberyn loves to surprise you and organize picnics for you. By the river, in an oasis in the desert, in the gardens... Once he even organized an evening picnic for you on the roof of the palace.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🌮 Javier Peña
Cooking isn't something he's great at. But he is a specialist in making drinks.
For most of his adult life, Javier learned to eat out or buy home-cooked meals.
However, it's not like Javier can't cook anything. There are a few special dishes that his mom taught him to make. And although Javier may feel insecure about his culinary skills at the beginning of your relationship, the longer you are together, the more willing he will be to prepare these dishes for you.
If you cook, you can always count on Javier to wash the dishes and clean the kitchen. After all, he doesn't want your beautiful nails to get damaged.
You just have to sit on the couch and enjoy the drink he prepares for you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🥞 Jack Daniels
This may come as a surprise, but Jack is very good at cooking. All because he was a mama's boy when he was a kid. He loved helping his mom in the kitchen and cooking with her.
Now he loves cooking for you and you can't help but admire how Jack transforms in the kitchen.
It's so cute to see him without a stetson and jacket, with his shirt sleeves rolled up to his elbows, and wearing an apron with the "Kiss the Cook" written on it.
Sometimes you just can't help yourself and hug him from behind and then steal a piece of carrot or sausage. You then hear his scolding voice: "Sugar, don't steal... Remember your manners."
But you know he's actually smiling and it doesn't bother him at all.
But what Jack does even better than dinner is... Cakes and desserts! You've never eaten such delicious muffins, desserts, croissants... Jack always watches with a wide smile as you eat these sweets, knowing full well that you will reward him later...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🍴 Dave York
Dave doesn't cook, he doesn't even try to learn. He thinks you're better suited for it because you're a woman.
Don't get me wrong, Dave is not some fucking misogynist. He will support you in your career and support your passion and women's rights. He doesn't think that women are only good for cooking and bearing children, but... Dave grew up in a traditional home with a traditional division of roles. And he just never felt like cooking.
You don't even know if he's bad at it because he's just never tried it.
But that doesn't mean he doesn't help you with other household chores. Dave doesn't mind cleaning. In fact, he's actually really good at it, because it's part of his job (cleaning up the crime scene). He can also do laundry or iron his shirts without any problems, but... He stays away from the kitchen.
But that doesn't mean you have to cook all the time. If you don't feel like it, no problem. Dave will make sure to take you out to a restaurant or order takeout at least three times a week. You are his princess and he will never let you think otherwise.
Besides, the kitchen is sometimes not meant for cooking (if you know what I mean.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🍔 Frankie Morales
To say that Frankie is a disaster in the kitchen is an understatement. Frankie tries really hard, but he can burn anything... You never thought that somebody could burn scrambled eggs.
But he is a great helper in the kitchen. Nobody cuts vegetables as quickly and precisely as Frankie. To top it off, he never has a problem doing shopping for groceries. He doesn't even need a list. Just tell him what dish you want to make and he will know what to buy.
Frankie also knows all the best places to eat cheap and delicious food.
But surprisingly. Frankie is excellent at making barbecue. You don't understand how this is possible, but it is. And no one makes burgers as delicious as Frankie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🍲 Din Djarin
Din hardly cooks. Most often, he makes broth and always adds too few spices. Sometimes he will also roast what he hunt over the fire, but he doesn't care what he eats.
Years spent as a bounty hunter and many planets visited had taught him to eat anything. Literally everything. Sometimes you think Din's stomach is made of beskar too.
Unfortunately for you, Grogu also has some strange food preferences (like father like son). You've seen him eat a frog more than once! But he, like you, thinks that soup with live 'octopus' is not normal!
That's why you forced Din to add a kitchen to your little house on Nevarro.
"Yes, Din, we need a kitchen!"
And you like cooking, especially for Grogu, who always accompanies you in the kitchen, because this little one is always hungry. But Din appreciates your cooking too, and you know it when he sneaks up behind you while you're cooking and gives you a sweet kiss on the cheek.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
🥗 Marcus Pike
Marcus loves cooking for you! And he's great at it, he just needs to have time for it. He used to order takeaway food very often, but not because he didn't like cooking, because he didn't have time.
But since you became his wife, he slowed down, wanting to focus more on family life. Cooking is his form of love language.
Sometimes you even have to force him out of the kitchen and tell him that this time you will make dinner. But even then, Marcus will offer to help you with cleaning and washing the dishes.
Marcus loves experimenting in the kitchen. He doesn't always get everything right, but you always praise him because you love seeing his happy smile and his eyes shining with joy.
If you get pregnant, Marcus will fulfill your strangest kitchen whims.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🧇 Javi G
Javi (like Oberyn) never had to learn to cook, he always had cooks or could afford expensive catering. However, Javi is not against cooking, especially if it makes you happy.
Just tell him what kind of dishes you like. Italian? Mexican? Chinese? No problem. Javi will hire a top chef to give him a cooking lesso.
Then he will proudly cook you your favorite dish. He will watch with impatience and nervousness as you take your first bite. When you tell him that something is delicious, Javi will go crazy with joy.
Of course, he won't finish with just one dish. After all this is Javi! Your hyperactive, passionate husband. So you can count on lots of interesting dishes cooked with love.
But of course Javi will also take you to expensive restaurants. Sometimes he just wants to spend more time with you and hold your hand while you wait for someone else to cook for you.
Tumblr media
For the first time, I am ready to cheat on my husband Oberyn with my husband Jack or with Marcus… Oberyn, don't look at me like that, if it weren't for the servants, we would eat fried scorpions every day…

reflection
you don't have to read this if you don't want to, i just wanted to write down some thoughts about this project
i started this blog three years ago at the beginning of the pandemic, after making a few sketches of human versions of wings of fire characters in a sketchbook. even though i wasn't an avid wof reader anymore, the idea stuck with me and i kept working on it and building it. i wasn't great at drawing humans in the beginning, and my character design skills were seriously lackluster. but i'm better at it now, and i believe this blog is one of the primary reasons for that.
drawing all of these characters, characters of so many ages and occupations and roles and personalities, really drove me to diversify my skills and work on making each one unique, memorable, and (more or less) accurate to the book version. i would constantly push myself to nail down the perfect sketch, the perfect face, the best design i could possibly do at the time - and i learned so much for it! through doing this project i have seriously learned so much, and i've improved greatly at character design
however, i think i've started to tire of it. i've made so many character references in the exact same style, the exact same format, the same sort of tone, and it's becoming sort of restricting. i want to do different, more experimental stuff, but i feel like i'm tethered to this, obligated to finish the list i laid out all that time ago. you guys still have so much you want to see, and i don't want to let you down
why am i writing this? i don't know. i genuinely don't. i don't think i'm quitting, but i don't know if i really feel like proceeding either. i think what i'm trying to say is that i want to take another break haha
thank you guys for the continued engagement and support, you're so wonderful and i'm really glad that my drawings have been able to entertain and even inspire you for this long ⭐

Mystery Inc as a DnD Party
Tumblr media
I figured as long as we're still in the vicinity of spooky season, I'd build everyone's favorite gang of teenage mystery solvers as a collective unit. Pulling from their group dynamic to come up with a party roster that will give everyone in the party a designated role.
Tumblr media
FRED JONES
PALADIN || OATH OF THE CROWN
INVESTIGATOR BACKGROUND
Skills: Athletics, Insight, Investigation, Persuasion
Freddie is the dimwitted but lovable himbo leader of the team. He's also the muscle, except in moments of athletic skill, when he's outshined by Daphne. His backstory isn't always consistent, but he's usually a jock of some sort. He's not usually all that book smart, but he has a good heart, and inspires his team to success. Paladins who swear an Oath to the Crown hold law and justice above all else, and Fred usually enjoys catching the bad guys and seeing justice served.
Tumblr media
DAPHNE BLAKE
BARD || COLLEGE OF LORE
NOBLE BACKGROUND
Skills: Athletics, Acrobatics, Deception, Insight, Investigation, Persuasion, Sleight of Hand, Performance
As surprising a choice as this might seem, Bard is actually a very appropriate choice for Daphne. Modern Daphne is the most supportive and emotionally intelligent member of the group. From What’s New Scooby-Doo? to Be Cool, Scooby-Doo, Daphne has become the emotional powerhouse of the group. Sensing when her friends are off their game, and offering sage advice to her friends when they need it. She’s also become a very creative girl, skilled in singing, dancing, fashion, design, and more. She’s grown to be the group’s resident skill monkey, almost on par with Velma’s uncanny encyclopedic knowledge on all brainy subjects. If a lock needs picking or the gang needs to get out of a trap, you can count on Daphne to have a nail file, bobby pin, or something else on her person to save the day. She's typically also the face of the group when it's not Fred, meaning she's going to want high Dexterity and Charisma. I chose Lore because Daphne is a reporter in Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island and this is the only real career she's ever had. A lore bard is basically a more magical reporter, and singing the tale of her group's mysterious endeavors.
Tumblr media
VELMA DINKLEY
ARTIFICER || ARTILLERIST
SAGE BACKGROUND
Skills: Arcana, History, Investigation, Nature
Velma was the most debatable one for me, as she could be a wizard or an artificer. And I was really leaning toward Wizard, but I had to stay true to Velma's character. She's been a tinkerer and a gadgeteer for a long time now. Velma is absolutely fascinated by robotics. But while Velma in our world can handwave superstitious nonsense, in a world with gods, demons, and real ghosts, I could absolutely see Velma using her knowledge to become a powerful wizard. I even considered the Knowledge Domain Cleric because it's basically designed to be a magical detective, and if Velma was going to worship a deity, it'd be a god of knowledge and reading. Ultimately, I did choose Artificer as it was more in-line with her base character as a skeptic and a scientist, but she would work as a Wizard. Plus, as is, Daphne is the only full-caster in the party.
Tumblr media
NORVILLE "SHAGGY" ROGERS
RANGER || CONCLAVE OF THE BEAST MASTER
GUILD ARTISAN BACKGROUND || COOKS & BAKERS
Skills: Animal Handling, Investigation, Stealth, Survival
No surprises here, Shaggy and Scooby are a bonded pair, and the two were going to be joined to each other one way or another. Scooby is technically a Beast of the Land, and there's no Great Dane stat block, so call him a Mastiff if you need to. You can't really build Scooby by himself per se. There's no dog race unless you go Custom Lineage or something, and even then, I'd struggle to assign Scooby a class as he's mostly an animal sidekick. Make sure Shaggy picks up Cooks Untensils and proficiency with them so he can become the party's designated camp chef.
Tumblr media
Ultimately, I'm happy with how the team turned out. Fred's the tanky and bulky frontliner, Velma can use her robotics to help solve mysteries, Daphne is the face on top of having so many skills, and Shaggy works with Scooby. Inadvertently, they're also all classes with access to healing spells. So, while I suspect Daphne being the sole full caster will probably assume primary role of group healer, everyone is capable of healing each other up. Making this a great group of supportive friends taking care of each other.

Five underappreciated anime that I would recommend!
1. Canaan (2009)
This is, from what I understand, an adaptation of a side-story chapter for the visual novel series 428: Shibuya Scramble, guest-written by Nasu Kinoko and guest-illustrated by Takeuchi Takashi. That is to say, the Type-Moon guys — the creators of Tsukihime, Kara no Kyoukai, and the now-legendary Fate/Stay Night. However, Canaan doesn’t take place in the Type-Moon shared universe(s), since it’s for another company’s property.
That being said, the anime adaptation is quite comprehensible on its own terms, likely due to the adaptation being written by the prolific and highly skilled screenwriter Okada Mari (Hanasaku Iroha, O Maidens In Your Savage Season, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, Maquia). Her writing imbues the narrative with enough emotional intensity to make up for the occasionally-convoluted nature of the plot, and the backstories of the characters are hinted at just enough so that the viewer can understand their relevance, without taking up too much precious screen time. It can be a little hard to follow at points, but I ended up understanding it decently well anyway.
The production values are very high indeed, due to the anime being produced by P.A. Works, and directed by Andoh Masahiro (Sword of the Stranger, Hanasaku Iroha, O Maidens In Your Savage Season). The action animation is consistently stunning, the characters are beautifully expressive, and the overall look of the show is fantastic.
And the voice acting is an absolute treat, with the lead role of Canaan herself taken by Sawashiro Miyuki, the antagonist role of Alphard taken by Sakamoto Maaya, and Nanjou Yoshino in the role of Oosawa Maria, the POV character for a lot of the story. The supporting voice cast is packed with talent too — Hamada Kenji, Tanaka Rie, Nakata Jouji, Tomatsu Haruka, Hirata Hiroaki, Noto Mamiko, and even Ootsuka Akio in a minor role!
The premise is sort of a science fiction type of thing, but set in the (quasi-)contemporary location of 2000s China, where outside of the sci-fi conceit, the setting is largely realistic. The tone and mood is mostly that of an action thriller, with some nail-biting suspense here and there, but there are some beautifully soft and tender moments as well — often involving Canaan and Maria. Yes, folks, this has yuri in it, although it’s (strongly) subtextual.
Anyway, I would recommend this to people who love Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Kara no Kyoukai, Fate/Zero, and probably also Cowboy Bebop.
2. Tetsuwan Birdy OVAs (1996)
This is distinct from the later adaptation of the original Tetsuwan Birdy (Birdy the Mighty) manga, called Tetsuwan Birdy Decode, which came out in the late 2000s — this one came out in 1996 and was produced by Studio Madhouse in their prime.
The main characters are Senkawa Tsutomu (voiced by Iwanaga Tetsuya), a hapless teenager who gets accidentally killed(!) by an alien spaceship on his way to school one day, and Birdy Cephon Altirra (voiced by Mitsuishi Kotono), a human-looking alien and an intergalactic government agent who saves Tsutomu by merging her body with his. Effectively, they become two people in one body, which can shift between the forms of Birdy and Tsutomu…. except Birdy still needs to deal with all the rogue aliens who threaten the safety of the galaxy, while Tsutomu needs to study for his high school entrance exams. From what I’ve been told, the premise is fairly reminiscent of Ultraman and other classic tokusatsu series.
It’s four tight episodes of classic ‘90s OVA goodness, with a fun and slightly silly sci-fi concept that is nonetheless wrung for some surprisingly effective drama at times. The main thrust of it, though, is action comedy — and it definitely delivers on that front. The fight scenes are superbly animated, including some early-career work from now-legendary animator Suzuki Norimitsu, and the character designs by Takahashi Kumiko (Witch Hunter Robin, Snow White with the Red Hair, Cardcaptor Sakura) are amazingly expressive. Birdy’s striking asymmetrical design is a particular favourite of mine. The direction by Kawajiri Yoshiaki (Cyber City Oedo 808, Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D) is solid, and the writing is quite serviceable despite the brevity and premise.
Overall, I wouldn’t say it’s much of an intellectual watch, but if you just want a fun action-comedy ride with an extremely charismatic female protagonist and stunning animation quality, Tetsuwan Birdy is likely to be your jam. I’d recommend it to people who enjoy classic tokusatsu series, the original ‘90s Sailor Moon anime, and the less-depressing parts of Neon Genesis Evangelion.
3. Noir (2001)
This anime series is perhaps not as underappreciated as the others on this list, but I do still feel that not enough people have seen it. It was made by the studio Bee Train, and it’s the first entry in their so-called “Girls with Guns” trilogy (which isn’t actually a coherent trilogy, since they’re three different stories). The series was made right at the end of the cel-anime era, before the transition to digital colouring and compositing, so the masters were shot on film, but it was also made at the beginning of the slow transition to widescreen TV broadcasts, so it’s one of the very rare cel anime that’s in 16:9. This allows for a beautifully detailed look that, IMO, serves to offset the occasionally-limited animation and the frequent re-use of footage.
The premise is basically “secret assassins in France are caught up in weird intrigue and conspiracies”; as such, there’s a lot of very fun gunplay and kickass fight scenes, but also a lot of suspense and mystery. The writing is a little bit slipshod at times, but it ends up holding together, and the characters and (especially) the fantastically moody vibe make the show worth watching.
The characters are imbued with a lot of life and colour, both by their extremely attractive designs and by their voice actors’ wonderful performances. Mireille Bouquet, a young Corsican assassin and one of the two protagonists, is voiced by Mitsuishi Kotono; Yuumura Kirika, the other main protagonist who is a Japanese schoolgirl who has seemingly lost all her memories (but not her exceptional assassin skills), is voiced by Kuwashima Houko; and the mysterious Chloe, who shows up partway through the show, is voiced by Hisakawa Aya. There are definite yuri vibes between Mireille and Kirika, but as with Canaan, it’s all subtextual.
The main draw of the show, though, is its phenomenal soundtrack, courtesy of Kajiura Yuki (.hack//Sign, Kara no Kyoukai, Fate/Zero, Sword Art Online, Demon Slayer) in her very first anime scoring gig. It’s at times propulsive, at times dark and moody, at times beautifully serene, at times melancholy and nostalgic — and it’s utterly memorable.
I would recommend Noir to anyone who likes Canaan, Witch Hunter Robin, Ghost in the Shell, or anyone who just wishes that James Bond were a woman.
4. Flip Flappers (2016)
This anime was produced at Studio 3Hz and directed by Oshiyama Kiyotaka, in a dazzling yet underappreciated directorial debut that was presaged by his impressive animation work on Dennou Coil, Space Dandy, A Letter to Momo, The Secret World of Arietty, and The Wind Rises. Owing to this extremely solid animation background, Oshiyama was able to recruit a lot of prime animation talent for Flip Flappers, and it definitely shows in the stunning sakuga of the wild action sequences that pepper the show’s narrative.
While the fantastic animation is a key draw of this show, the sheer creativity in the worldbuilding, conceptual, and visual design spheres also contribute to its inimitably psychedelic look and feel. The landscapes of the worlds contained in Pure Illusion — the dream-realm that the protagonists enter each episode at the behest of a mysterious scientific organisation — and of the “real” world are whimsical, storybook-like, and slightly “off” in a slightly unsettling but compelling way.
The dreamlike atmosphere pervades the narrative as well — very little about the mechanics of the world is specified out loud, relying heavily on symbolism and visual storytelling to do the heavy lifting for the audience’s understanding. This might be a turn-off for audiences who prefer to have things spelled out for them clearly, but the point of this story is not always to make perfect logical sense, but rather to work on an emotional and metaphorical level. And work, it certainly does.
The episodic structure involving the various worlds of Pure Illusion explores the concept of the Umwelt (the individual sensory “world” of a person or organism), as well as some Jungian concepts and archetypes, in order to express the strange and sometimes-scary developmental stage of adolescence. The characters of Cocona (voiced by Takahashi Minami) and Papika (voiced by Ichimichi Mao) undergo a metaphorical and literal puberty, a coming-of-age similar in some ways to that experienced by the protagonist of FLCL, but with significantly more yuri. In fact, this show has the most outright yuri of any of the anime on this list. But that isn’t very strange for what is essentially a psychedelic magical-girl show: lots of magical-girl anime seem to include homoerotic vibes in some form or another, from Sailor Moon to Nanoha to Madoka.
There are some minor flaws in the storytelling towards the end, IMO, but overall it’s a wonderfully impactful emotional journey to watch Flip Flappers. Plus, the OP and ED are both extraordinarily catchy tunes that I’ve found myself humming on many an occasion.
I’d recommend this anime to anyone who loves weird magical-girl stuff, weird yuri, and/or amazing action animation.
5. Claymore (2007)
An adaptation of the manga by Yagi Norihiro, this anime is considered by many to simply be “basic”, or at least simply “inferior to the manga”. Now. I haven’t read the original Claymore manga (yet! I plan to eventually), but I found this anime to be compelling nonetheless. And if it really is the case that the manga is better, then I definitely look forward to diving in.
Having been produced by Studio Madhouse in the mid-2000s, it’s unsurprising that the vast majority of this anime was outsourced to Korean animation studio DR Movie, a longtime powerhouse subcontractor for both Japanese and American animation alike. That said, the direction of Tanaka Hiroyuki (director of a portion of Hellsing Ultimate and frequent close collaborator of Attack on Titan director Araki Tetsurou) remains sharp, compensating for the sometimes-limited animation with good storyboarding and a strong sense of mood and atmosphere.
Another aspect of Claymore which helps make up for the occasional visual shortcomings is the soundtrack by Takumi Masanori. The compositions are a mix of harder rock and electronic elements with a strong orchestral backbone, as befits a dark-fantasy setting and mood — the faster pieces are edgy and propulsive, very appropriate for the bloody action scenes, and the calmer pieces have a melancholic beauty to them that sticks in one’s memory. I wish the soundtrack were on Spotify, but alas, it is not.
The other sonic element that helps this anime out immensely is its absolutely STACKED voice cast. The main character, Clare, is voiced by Kuwashima Houko, in a fantastic yet understated performance. The other main character, Raki, is voiced by the less-well-known Takagi Motoki, but nearly all the other roles — including many bit parts — are filled with industry legends. Teresa is voiced by Park Romi, Miria is voiced by Inoue Kikuko, Irene is voiced by Takayama Minami, Rubel is voiced by Hirata Hiroaki, Priscilla is voiced by Hisakawa Aya, Ophelia is voiced by Shinohara Emi, and Jean (whom I cannot help but ship with Clare: there’s so much homoerotic tension there!) is voiced by none other than Mitsuishi Kotono. Yes, they got three of the original Sailor Senshi VAs — and I don’t know why that’s funny to me, but it is. And all of the voice actors deliver killer performances.
The premise of the show, before I completely forget to explain it, is that of a dark fantasy world where demons called youma ravage human settlements, with only the titular Claymores to protect humanity. They are a guild of platinum-haired and silver-eyed warrior women who possess superhuman fighting abilities, due to the fact that they’ve been fused with youma essence, and wield the massive broadswords that give them their name. Basically, (s)he who fights monsters must become (partly) a monster to do so.
I’ve heard the vibe of Claymore compared to manga like Berserk, and I don’t know how true that is (not having read the latter for myself), but there’s certainly a lot of bleakness and monstrosity in this fantasy tale. However, the Claymore manga was published in none other than Weekly Shounen Jump, so it’s perhaps unsurprising that the story remains resolutely forward-looking, the protagonists’ arcs focussing on the power of grit, determination, true friendship and loyalty, and protection of the weak and downtrodden. It’s never cynical or sarcastic — always straightforward and sincere despite the frequent darkness of the story.
The writing is consistently solid, even through the controversial anime-original ending (the manga continues long past the point where the anime cut things off), so I’m not sure who to point to for that: Yagi Norihiro for writing the original material, or Kobayashi Yuuko (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Attack on Titan s1-3, Kakegurui, Casshern Sins) for adapting it cleanly for the screen? Either way, it made me want to read the manga to experience more of these compelling characters and their travails.
I would recommend this anime to those who enjoy Kill La Kill or RWBY, or just to those who enjoy powerful women hacking at monsters with massive weapons and making lots of blood spray out.

A summery of tson:
Shit's fucked
Seriously though I'm so normal. I'm a little sad Noone went to the nowhere, but I'm also happy for her...? She got away from Otto. I think that's what the nowhere does, targets children with *nowhere* to go and no support system (and in Noone's case she also had illnesses) and gives them a reprieve, but in turn they are pulled into a LITTERAL MONSTER WORLD.
I've seen a few people theorize that Cece = Six and Otto = Mono, but I don't really agree with that, first off, though Otto did react to the yellow raincoat, the raincoat was Rcg's first (I think it's more likely that Cece = rcg but I also want to keep my mind open and just process for a few days) and it just doesn't really fit in my mind...? And to everyone saying "bUt It would exPlaIn mOno's oBseSion wIth trAveling with Six and ReaChIng the tOwEer" I say ...No :)
I really liked the podcast itself, it was a little triggering because I have had experiences with therapists manipulating and using me, but I was able to look past it and enjoy it. The sound design was INCREDIBLE and I'm really hoping they release the theme on Spotify, and I really liked the writing
Aaaa idk my thoughts are all over the place
I totally agree with you on most of this! The trend of assigning specific characters to already pre-existing ones in particular really bothers me as of now -- characters can have parallels without being the same person, people! Just look at Six and the Lady!! I also don't think Sisi is anyone we know just yet.
I can't say I am happy for Noone, though. She got prayed on in one of her most vulnerable moments caused by an irresponsible and irrational adult, causing her to be pushed into the arms of danger. Unfortunately this happens way too often in the real world as well. Poor child. The Nowhere may have "healed" her, but make no mistake: it is not a place of good. Not at all. Considering the final noises we heard as she approached the "door" it seems that she may have travelled to the Maw, where the Ferryman usually takes children... and considering the things that happen in the Maw... I wonder if she's one of those many faceless children we see during Six and RKs adventure. :(
The actors did a perfect job. Noone is really adorable and Otto's breakdowns were incredibly effective, both their VAs are very skilled. I must also give props to Otto's Italian VA: he was perfect for the role and nailed the vibe to a tee.

Our fandom icon @bluebutter-art is celebrating her birthday today and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to once again scream about this fantastic human and unbelievably talented artist. I’m sure I don’t need to tell anyone how gifted Blue is, and how she has created 90% of my all-time favourite Drarry artworks at this point - her depictions speak so deeply to my soul that they’ve easily become my personal headcanon for these characters, not only in terms of appearance, mannerisms, posture and gadgets, but also storytelling-wise. To me Blue is just like a fic writer in the sense she’s able to come up with these rich, vibrant, aesthetically gorgeous and tender love stories, and that’s without including a single line of dialogue if she so desires. Her work has such emotional depth and resonance it feels like I’m reading a 30k fic with exciting plots, charming characters, witty flirting and the gentlest, sexiest get together. It’s just so impressive - and quite unbelievable to think we’re this lucky to have someone like her in our fandom. I don’t know how Blue gets to tug at my poor heartstrings every.single.time with poignant character arcs, witty expressions and compelling physique 🥵
Beyond her undeniable skill, Blue is also joyful, enthusiastic and supportive presence in the fandom. She shares unconditional love for fic, creators and friends, and it’s always the best company to exchange fic recs and indulgent praise for Harry’s thighs or Draco’s hair these idiots in love. Blue darling, I’m so happy we got to become friends, I couldn’t be more excited about your return to the fandom. Thank you so much for sharing your incredible universes and work with us, I know I’m not alone when I tell you what a big role model and fandom legend you are. We are so lucky to have you around! I hope you have an incredibly day full of special moments, and I hope this little reclist will make you smile today 💜💙
6 Faves from 2021:
Dragontamers Drarry
I can’t even with soft tattooed boyfriends living in the wild and wow, that sunset is beyond perfection!!!! I wanna know all about Harry and Draco, and the life they built together out there, but at the same time I feel like Blue already told me their story with zero words, the talent! Love the vibes, the gorgeous lighting, the sense of comfort I get seeing them in their own little universe and doing what they love.
Far from the Tree | fic by aideomai
SPOILER ALERT: This art is as epic and breathtaking as the fic itself, Blue captured perfectly the satisfying sense of thrill that big reveal moment provides. BAMF swordsman Draco walking the walk of purpose is everything we deserve and I can almost taste Harry’s nosebleed watching that brilliant, god-like man confidently arriving to save the day. Absolutely brilliant!
Game On | fic by @pennygalleon
Perfect art for a perfect fic! I could cry at the delicious pub vibes, the look of challenge on their faces combined with the subtle interest in their body language, and the touching feet!!! Every time I look at this I feel so happy my chest expands. This masterpiece radiates SEXUAL TENSION in such a charming and witty way, once again Blue nails the fic vibes, and btw can’t rec this fic enough. Rivals to lovers ftw!
Ice Cream at Midnight
My favourite display of domesticity ever, this has been my personal Drarry headcanon since Blue posted it. Absolutely obsessed with the contrast in their tastes, the unimpressed expressions, Draco’s sexy glasses and delicate bony feet, Harry’s iconic killing thighs (maybe even literally?? who knows, not me but I’d love to 🤭). Nothing was ever the same after this magnificent Harry came to life, jfc I’m so hot for him
Slytherin Draco
Excuse me, why so handsome sir?? This breathtaking Slytherin Draco makes me swoon, he looks so regal and confident and THAT BESPOKE OUTFIT is so lush!!! I can’t believe the level of detail too, that look is so well crafted and thought out! The jewelry, the gloves, the rings!!! 🤯 my god, this Draco could step on my face and I’d thank him lol yes sir pls do come in and ruin my life. Anyone else getting Astolat vibes out of this art?
Sunkissed (Ron/Harry) | fic by @static-abyss
The softest Rarry art you’ll see today! Blue captured the tenderness and certainty of that scene so well, I love how deeply in love and content they look together, their smiles as if sharing a secret we’re not supposed to hear. Just peak romance, and for a rare pair I came to love thanks to this beautiful, gentle fic! Highly recommend if you haven’t read it yet.
5 Faves from 2022:
Auror Husbands
Everything I had to say about this art was written here. This is one of the best, most thoughtful and exciting gifts I’ve ever gotten and it made me salivate over Harry’s arms and thighs FOR DAYS. I couldn’t write a single thought for days and had to wax poetry throw 195258 different scenarios I came up with into Blue’s DMs instead, so embarrassing. I’m a hoe for one (1) man 😔
BAMF girlfriends at the Gala (Ginny/Pansy)
My god, they look so incredibly hot AND powerful together, I can’t even make a coherent comment. Just so.. obsessed with Ginny’s athletic physique and those sinful dresses and the easy intimacy they share! Where’s this action fic with badass girlfriends attending a gala undercover and saving the day??? @teacup-tai tell me you’ve seen this
Draco’s 42
The ultimate established relationship art! I’m so weak for domesticity it’s not even funny and this art explores soft intimacy in a whole new level, ugh it makes my heart ache. Draco in reading glasses, an ode to Turn in his hands, that perfect aristocratic nose and the soft content smile on his face are truly a sight to behold. I fell immediately, utterly in love with this and didn’t think twice before asking for Blue’s permission to use it as a banner for my Valentines Day recs.
Harry & James
This one hits right in the feels, father & son artworks always get me emotional af and this is such a beautiful homage to Harry and James. I love that Blue initially wanted to leave their identities in the open but went for that lovely Hedwig tattoo in the end, which hits in the solar plexus as much as the rest of it, so impossibly tender. Also…. That glorious light hitting his profile??? Superb
Surface Texture (Harry/Teddy) | fic by @the-starryknight
First of all, this fic is exquisite. I have a major soft spot for it (one of the very best Harry/Teddy shorts out there, go read it ASAP) so I felt personally attacked spoiled when I saw that Blue had created art for it. Early Christmas!!! The way she (again) captured the quiet, sexy, intimate vibes leaves me speechless over and over. Her serene and focused artist Teddy and confident model Harry in quiet display have me drooling, you can almost taste the low key tension between them and keep wondering when they’re about to snap 🔥
4 NSFW:
Almost Like Home | Full Version (fic by @thesleepiesthufflepuff)
I think this was the very first nsfw art of Blue’s I saw and I still remember being 100% obliterated by the beautiful and sensual intimacy of it. The scenario, the atmosphere, the look of utter abandonment on Harry’s face, the soft hand touching! It’s so very hot and tender, and a perfect way to illustrate this incredibly gentle fic with friends with benefits and pining!Draco, my jam. Once again the morning light just takes my breath away, it’s so ethereal!
Golden Hour
When I tell you I legit gasped out loud seeing this jaw-dropping bondage art, holy shit! Harry and Draco both look so powerful from different perspectives, the unflinching gaze and confident stance are killing me. I cannot handle the amount of BDE displayed here. Draco’s bulge smirk and tattoo are 🔥 and Harry’s sculpted like a greek god I mean, how’s that even possible? Would give anything to learn more about this universe and their lives in it!
I just know his bum
This comic is simply iconic, so funny and deliciously hot! I found that take on the glory hole trope really sweet, and Draco’s gorgeous tattoo is such a sight! Also, Ron’s and Hermione’s confused reaction at the end cackles me up, this is hilarious! Such a great way to explore identity porn, it could go many ways from there and I love that world of possibilities too.
No Better Love
Forget aftercare, Harry accioing a glass of water for Draco mid-sex is the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen and the kind of smut tenderness I’m talking about 😔🙌 they both look so so gorgeous and in love I can’t look away, my heart bursts with warmth. Draco has never looked this good - sweating body and sweet fond smile riding Harry like a god, ugh that’s so very hot I’m combusting. You’re all welcome!!
3 Old(er) Gems:
Interrogation / Tumblr
Oh my, this Harry can lock me in a room anytime please and thank 🥵 I’m obsessed with his edgy, menacing look here. Talk about BDE, baby! And did you notice that hairy arm, the sexy tattoo, the shiny wedding ring?? That’s Auror Potter-Malfoy for you 🤌🏼
Sun and Moon (Atlas)
This gorgeous and poetic art isn’t as well known or loved as other Blue works and I decided to include it here as I’m sure it went off peoples radar. The ying yang aesthetics are striking, I love the detailed outfits, the vibrant colors and beautiful textures, their delicate intertwined hands! As a side note this art was based off a song that I love from this amazing album by Sleeping at Last, double kudos for that!
Wine Night
Still one of my personal favourites, I’m so soft for this brand of slice-of-life domesticity! Harry’s fond smile watching the people he loves the most together in the same room is a gorgeous portrayal of those moments of soft realization when we’re hit by the thought “god, I’m so lucky I get to be around these people”. This art captures perfectly the magic of those moments in time, and my heart is full and warm, right there with Harry’s.
2 Comics:
so rest your weary heart with me | Full Version
This is my all-time favorite Drarry comic alongside a series from Dustmouth, and hands down my favorite piece from last year’s Sudsfest. It’s still hard to talk about (or even look at) it without getting all choked up. Within just a few lovely, meaningful panels, Blue delivers the most touching, deeply emotionally packed love story. This is a triumph, a poignant journey about grief and healing, quietly devastating but still full of hope and warmth. If you haven’t checked it yet what are you even doing with your fandom life?
Sometimes it’s Now or Never
This is one of the comics I revisit the most, I adore it so so much. Auror Harry trusting Draco to patch him up after a raid is THE ULTIMATE TROPE and Blue executes it so perfectly. The storytelling is complete and effective, you can feel the trust and tenderness between these characters without needing further background on their relationship. The amount of time I spent looking at those kissing panels, mesmerized at Harry’s silent resolve and Draco’s sweet tenderness as he yields into the kiss… *sigh* peak romance!
1 Portrait:
Silver Trio
The hottest trio you’ll ever see today! I adore the perfect Super Rich Kids aesthetics and the attention to detail here - the earrings, the flawless hairstyle, the A+ cheekbones and unblinking stare, the smooth and hard lines of beautiful, aristocratic and distinctive faces! They look like the ultimate high society models and I’m 👏🏻 here 👏🏻 for 👏🏻 it 👏🏻
Bonus:
Happy Pride Art!
Couldn’t leave this one behind I mean, look at them!!!! They look so proud and happy and comfortable in their own skin it makes me wanna cry every time I see this art. The level of comfort and joy this brings me it’s unparalleled and have I mentioned those badass outfits, Ginny’s hot muscles and *le gasp* Harry’s thighs?? Enough said, RIP me. Happy Pride my friends! 🏳️‍🌈

14!
Abbott Elementary Prompts || 14. Most emotional scene:
Of course you would send me this one you little shit (affectionate).
This one is unbelievably easy for me, and I suspect will be a pretty common answer. The dyslexia scene from Readathon. A lot of it has been said about it, much more eloquently than I could, but for me - and I'm going to be very real here for a moment - here's why:
Tumblr media
I think, for anyone who has a learning disability, this scene hit like a ton of bricks. For so many of us, especially that are a bit older and there wasn't the understanding there is now, or that live in areas that just don't have the funding for special educational infrastructure to give us the extra care we needed, this scene was a kind of wish fulfilment. A Miss Honey in Matilda kind of moment. An "I see you, and what you experience is ok". I'm on the spectrum, and if just one of my teachers - any adult in my life, in truth - had helped me realise that my learning difficulties were something to work with, not fix or punish me for, I think maybe my educational trajectory would have gone a little differently. But I never had an opportunity like that. I had good teachers, but they didn't have the training. That was something I had to figure out how to adapt all on my own. I think that's common for many people. But adaptations and support is out there, and this scene is a reminder to anyone viewing that, whether it's their own disabilities or someone else in your life. That it's ok to have to use different strategies to reach the same goal. It doesn't make you any lesser. What you're going through matters.
Tumblr media
Mel's a beloved character, and she puts a human face on having a learning difficulty, something that has very little representation in tv and movies, in a way that isn't patronising or othering, because this isn't a character you can other as a viewer because of the way she's built. Melissa's tough as nails, it's her defining characteristic. They took one of the strongest characters, someone who takes absolutely no shit from anyone, and not only gave us a deeper understanding of one of many reasons to explain the way she is the way she is, but put a completely new lens on how we've seen her teaching be at times more unorthodox or strange. Gave an example of learning disability as a lived experience, not just as a theoretical type of oppression. Her and Ava are both similar in this regard (with different obstacles): both in their roles in the cast as the comic relief, approaching stuff/saying outlandish things that make other characters pause, but that humour comes from somewhere. It's a compensation, it's a deflection, it's drawing attention away from the soft parts. It's adapting to an environment that didn't make life easy for you. So by giving these interesting depths of backstory to two characters who, normally, you can relax around, as a viewer - because both Lisa and Janelle are stand-up comedians, and the skill of a natural comic is that when they have the mic, you know you're in safe hands and can relax - it disarms you. It makes you go oh. It softens their otherwise very spiky edges. It's fantastic framing. It's great writing and characterisation. The book scene in Readathon is such a fantastic example of how full of heart this show is, while otherwise being light-hearted and easy to watch. This scene made me cry, and it's really important.

Thai QL Favorites Tag Game
Nobody tagged me but it sounds like fun so I'm not waiting for an invite. Created by @thatgirl4815 as Thai BL Favorites Tag Game and acknowledging @justafriend-ql whose Thai BL Favorites (JustAFriend-QL) post led me to it. If you want context for my answers, I suggest you check out my introduction post where I list what I've seen.
Favorite Thai QL: Not Me. Brilliant, well acted, asks important questions, masterful dual role. Have watched it twice and could watch it several more times and likely will if I can.
Favorite Pairing: ThunMed from He's Coming to Me. Delightful to watch its development and lots of fun. Runner-up at the moment is LimingHeart from Moonlight Chicken.
Most underrated actor: Gawin Caskey after seeing him in Dark Blue Kiss and Not Me. Pleased to see him finally getting a lead role in Be My Favorite. Runner up to Jennie Panhan in 3 Will Be Free, where she totally nailed her role (although people may dispute whether 3WBF is a QL).
Favorite Character: Thun from He's Coming to Me.
Favorite Side Character: Hin from Lovely Writer.
Favorite scene in a QL: Episode 5 rooftop scene in Bad Buddy.
Favorite line in a QL: Oh, gosh, this is so difficult. Not because there's so much to choose from (although there probably is) but because I'm basing it on the subtitles and the microscopic amount of Thai I've picked up from watching QL. Contrary to what Kawi in Be My Favorite thinks of the job, it takes real skill to be both long/brief enough to sync with the original and still be readable, as well as get across the cultural aspects. As much as I'm lukewarm on Nitiman as a series, that series subtitler was great in establishing cultural context, particularly about the insults dog and buffalo. Conversely, subtitles of Thai QL often lack nuance around address/pronouns. Also, in my current watch, Be My Favorite, as well as some other series, I'm particularly annoyed around the falling "um" sound being subtitled so literally, as "Um", where it seems to me, possibly mistakenly, as an unenthusiastic assent - maybe a better subtitle would be "Whatever" and I'm open to being educated about this word.
Given that long introduction to my choice, the thing that comes to mind is a line where I caught on second watch of Bad Buddy that the subtitles didn't match what the characters were saying, and I was feeling pleased with myself. Specifically, in episode 2, part 2, 3:54-4:02. Wai is teasing Pran. The subtitles read "Unless you're starting to fall for his sweet words" but the Thai includes the words "thong yod," the name of the sweet that Pat has anonymously gifted Pran with. The friends then chant "thong yod" multiple times as the subtitles read "sweetie". (See Telomeke-BBS post about thong yod.)
However, that isn't really about a line that's my favorite because of it being a good line (although, as @telomeke-bbs explains, it is a really good line). It's just that it's an ego-centric reason for it to be my favorite.
But the problem is, since I've never heard Thai QL lines in a language that I understand and am dependent on the subtitles, it's hard to feel invested in a particular line or even remember specific lines months or years after I've seen the series, as opposed to lines in English-language films, some of which I remember 10 or more years after having seen them.
There was a line in By My Favorite that I laughed out loud at, but that's something I watched yesterday. It's not good enough to be my all-time favorite.
But actually, now that I think about it, I love Kwan's line in episode 8 part 3/4 of He's Coming to Me. She's just so supportive of her son and his current ghost/her past live boyfriend. At 3:25-3:40, the subtitles read "It's fine, you don't need to talk about it. Feelings are hard to talk about or control. I do believe, though, that whatever happened, it's for the best." and the love really comes through in her voice. Re-watching it so I could transcribe it for this post brought me to tears. Thun's coming-out scene in episode 6 part 3/4, Kwan's monologue at 9:52-10:31 where she makes it clear she accepts her gay son unreservedly, is a close second, although a bit long to be called a favorite "line." Can I just say I love Sine's acting?
For a just-for-fun brief line it would be her line in Secret Crush on You where Sine (as Toh's mother) drops a lime while prepping dinner and reaches for it and the other characters freak out and she jokes that they watch Nang Nak too much. The joke is that Sine played the ghost in Nang Nak (a late 90's Thai horror film, which I've seen) and there's a scene where she drops some food out of her stilt house while fixing dinner for her husband, whereupon her husband, who thought she was still alive, sees her stretch her ghostly arm out through the floor to the ground below to retrieve it, thus discovering that she's actually dead.
Most Anticipated QL (& why): 23.5 (hinges on my editing BL to QL, which I would have done anyway since I prefer the term QL, but so be it) because I think InkPa made a great pair in Bad Buddy, the actors paired well in their Oiishi Zero drama-mercial, and I think they will be great to watch together as the leads for a whole series. If it has to be BL and not GL, then Triage as I'm waiting for a non-gray way to watch it so I'm supporting its production.
Healthiest relationship in a QL: See Favorite Pairing.
Most toxic relationship in a QL: The two leads in Cutie Pie, which led me to drop the series.
Guilty pleasure series: Rak Diao, the situation comedy. It's trash but way fun. Content warning for treating verbal sexual harassment as a running joke.
Most underrated series: (thank you @justafriend-ql for adding this one) 180 Degrees Longitude Passes Through Us. Way more serious and studied than the typical QL, not that there's anything wrong with typical QL, and not to everyone's taste because of the age gap, but I don't think it's gotten the attention it deserves.
Tagging the folks whose writing on QL led me to join Tumblr: @telomeke-bbs, @absolutebl, @miscellar, @waitmyturtles, and @bengiyo (sorry if you've already answered these)

I'm having a hard time wording this but.... despite all their whining about being ~robbed~ I'm having a hard time believing the stans would actually enjoy a show centered on the feuding Hales and Argents.
Because I think, Scott would still be involved in some way
Tumblr media
Derek: Are you sure this is the right script?
I think that what you might be missing is that up until Master Plan (2x12), that's what they thought they were getting.
You see, the fandom was so used to certain tropes -- particularly the Lost Prince trope -- being used again and again to tell the stories of White Male Characters, that they missed the signs that Teen Wolf was going to be a story about Scott McCall.
I really believe that they thought Scott was going to be the audience stand-in allowing us to participate in the battle between the Hales and the Argents, much like Nick Carraway serves to explain and elaborate on the goings-on in East Egg. He would give insight to the audience about the characters involved, reveal the historical context, and then eventually serve as witness (if not an aide) to Derek Hale reclaiming what was taken fro him: family, power, territory.
Until the end of the second season, they could twist the story in ways in order to imagine that would indeed happen. It didn't matter what Derek or Peter did to Scott, because Scott's supposed role as narrator wasn't to prioritize his own feelings or dignity. That's why you see so many people put a variation of the phrase "Derek may have gone about it the wrong way, but he was trying to help you" in Fanon Stiles's mouth in their fanfiction, because that is the type of thing protagonists do. But Derek wasn't trying to help Scott; he was treating Scott as a means to an end and anyone paying attention could see that. And it didn't matter that Allison was Scott's anchor or that he had actual emotions for her, because she belonged to the other side. That's why you see so many in the fandom consider Scott's feelings for her as obsessive or stupid, because he couldn't tell Derek's story if he kept taking Allison's side. Yet that wasn't what was happening, and anyone paying attention could see that.
The fandom's confirmation bias was enormous.
As the first two seasons progressed, they had to work hard to keep this particular trope a valid expectation. Derek didn't follow the standard arc for a Lost Prince. Lost Princes might make blunders or operate from a position of ignorance, but ultimately, the primary function of their errors is to show the validity of their claim because they can and must overcome these obstacles. For Derek, Teen Wolf didn't do that, and it was so confusing to the audience that they began to make jokes about it, such as "failwolf."
Derek's claiming of the alpha spark was supposed to be the first step to his ultimate victory, but the show presented it as leading to one disaster after another. Similarly, Scott wasn't supposed to develop leadership skills; he was supposed to fall in line and by falling in line give Derek the support he needed to succeed. Their fury when Deaton dismissed Derek as a not particularly competent alpha was a reaction to a possible forced epiphany: maybe Derek wasn't the protagonist? The Magic Negro is supposed to provide the impetus for the Lost Prince to pick himself up and win! (Deaton was doing this, but not for Derek, and that didn't make any sense to them.)
Master Plan was the proverbial nail in the coffin. Scott treated Derek as a villain in the second season finale and the narrative validated that, so they lost their minds! To them, the Lost Prince couldn't be a villain, no matter how many innocent people he tried to kill or teenagers he endangered. With the line "You may be an alpha, but you're not mine," they couldn't pretend that the story was about Derek any longer. Something had gone horribly wrong.
You may or may have not read Aesop, but you must have heard the story of the Fox and the Grapes. The Teen Wolf fandom became dominated by a group of people who were absolutely damn sure that those grapes were sour, because this was supposed to be a different variation on the old story. Derek was supposed to overcome the plots of those dastardly Argents and their Allies as well as any other villain that came along, with the aid of his able assistants (Scott and the Betas who abandoned him) and his true love. Derek didn't. His purpose in the story as a foil was to validate Scott's rise to power and Scott's moral stance, as he did in Riddled (3x18), The Divine Move (3x24), I.E.D. (4x05), Smoke & Mirrors (4x12) and The Wolves of War (6x20), as well as numerous minor scenes.
To counter your argument, as long as the roles were reversed, and Scott was there to validate Derek as protagonist, they would have been just fine with six seasons of Hales vs. Argents. They were expecting that so much that they thought it was inevitable, which is why you get members of the fandom saying things like "Jeff Made Derek Do That!" Well, yes, he did, because he's the writer and that was the story he chose to tell.

Wednesday characters in DnD
So I've been thinking, what kind of Dungeons and Dragons (or like any other fantasy rpg, with all the OGL stuff) character would each Wednesday character enjoy to play? Let's think about it, shall we?
Wednesday Addams
I feel like, out of everyone, Wednesday would enjoy to play a character that is close to herself. Just think of Viper, the chronically misunderstood teenage detective. So what would that mean? Rogue.
Tumblr media
Hear me out. Wednesday likes to be an expert at things she deems interesting: torture, taxidermy, fencing, writing, cello, stealth. She also does not seem to enjoy her visions too much, so going with a less magic focused class would make sense. And the nail in the coffin: rogues are good alone (the typical loner class), but they are even better in a team. Getting a sneak attack is easier with your friends around, and if this is not the message of the final battle, I don't know what else it could be.
Bonus: Thing would absolutely be a Cleric with high insight, or a Monk with unarmed strikes.
Tyler Galpin
So, yeah, I might be biassed with this one, but I think he would not particularly like to play a character like himself, but end up doing something like that anyway.
Tumblr media
He might be called to the Barbarian class, as the Rage feature is something he would clearly understand, and could utilize it in a smart way. But it might hit a bit too close to home for him, being angry all the time.
Then there are Rangers with their built in outdoorsy nature and.. well magical racism. He does know his way in the great outdoors, knows hunting tricks, so this could easily be an outlet for some of his interests (yes, even the magical racism; he might be able to process it better once he lets himself realize, that he is also in the Favored Enemy group).
My last candidate for him would be Warlock, and again, this might hit a nerve for him, but I feel like this could be a great way for him to process what happened to him. What do I mean? He made a deal with someone, and in exchange for certain services he got information and power to enact revenge. He probably wouldn't have made the deal knowing the nature of his duties, but it is too late now. Also, fun fact, Warlocks keep their powers even if they break their pact. It is a gift/curse they cannot escape from.
The boy could use some healing and roleplaying can be a good outlet for that.
Enid Sinclair
She is an interesting one. I think she would love to play someone at least as charismatic and fun as herself, and playing in a more supportive role would also satisfy her people-pleaser nature. So what I'm trying to say is Bard, probably.
Tumblr media
You could argue that a Cleric or Druid would also do the trick, if she wants to focus on support, but I don't she would like the Druid's reminder of animal transformation. Cleric on the other hand could be a good fit, you can stand your ground, help your friends, be an absolute badass.
At the same time Bard is just so much fun, with the expertise, charisma, performance. I think she would enjoy it.
Xavier Thorpe
He is an artist, so that would mean Bard, right? I'm not so sure about it. Yes he likes to paint and draw, but to be honest, I don't think he would be that into the high charisma aspect; might remind him of his dad.
Tumblr media
So what else does he enjoy? Not his prophetic visions, for sure. But there is archery, and he does fencing as well. That could guide us to Ranger or Fighter, but I don't take him as a nature loving person, so maybe Fighter? A ranged Fighter with Painter's supply proficiency. I don't think he would enjoy the dangers of close combat.
Bianca Barclay
Once again, someone who would not enjoy playing a character with the same set of skills as herself. I think she would enjoy playing someone intelligent, a self-made genius, a Wizard, if you will.
Tumblr media
She enjoys being the best in every situation and I think she would enjoy coming up with creative spell uses. At the same time, I think she would not mind being in the middle of a fight, so she would pack some spells for surviveability.
My other idea would be a Fighter, but she would play it like a strategist. Doing close combat, while also instructing the others what to do.
Hell, a level 2 Fighter, level x Wizard would be so perfect for her - in a slightly optimizer way.
Eugene Ottinger
I cannot leave him out, he is too precious.
Tumblr media
He would absolutely use this opportunity to show of, how cool bees can be, so either Ranger (Swarmkeeper, if we go with official subclasses just this once) or Druid. And he would absolutely kill it.

vex 4, percy 9, or vesper 5?
Vex - 4: Angry Headcanon
Vex doesn't like to get angry. She's spent a large portion of her life working not to show her anger - she would get punished for it in Syngorn and so would Vax and it just wasn't worth it. So... she's had practice at not showing how angry she is, at tamping down on all of that emotion and refusing to let it out. It's almost easier when what she's angry about is herself: Syngorn taught her that she didn't matter, that her feelings didn't matter, that she should just grow up and get on with things regardless.
More often than not, when angry about something regarding herself, she only really registers it as tiredness, for a long time.
And then- then she gets reminded that she can be angry because she does matter. Because she's done phenomenal things and earned a huge amount of respect. That those who won't treat her with simple kindness, people who are happy for her to be angry as long as she behaves as they want - that they aren't worth her time.
She still tries not to lash out - but for the first time in years there's red crescents pressed into the palms of her hands from her nails.
Percy - 9: Childhood Headcanon
Percy wasn't great with people, growing up. He was pretty okay in formal situations, though he wasn't all that fond of them for some time - he liked that there were rules to obey, simple and easy to understand, that there were things you did say and things you didn't and that with the right words and the right tone of voice it was easy to get what you wanted.
He didn't like dealing with his siblings because they didn't operate on those same easy-to-understand principles.
It wasn't that he didn't love his siblings or his other relatives - he did. They were family and they were all he had as friends for some time. The noble houses down in Whitestone would have been cousins or cadet branches of the main line, the relatives from the Parchwoods likewise cousins of some kind, and it was with these he would have first been taught and played schoolyard games, and perhaps a few sessions of Bunions & Flagons.
Of course, Percy is good when rules are in play. It was easy enough for him to make a character incredibly overpowered - entirely within the rules! - and for his cousins to decide that they'd rather not play with him.
He likes to think that he was lucky - lucky he was smart enough to leave the usual classes with his cousins, lucky to learn more directly from Anders, lucky to be removed from regular schooling as his cleverness was noticed - but he does think he missed something, from not spending so much time with his peers. Perhaps he would have noticed more and been better at people if he had.
He had to learn people better after the Briarwoods - and he still got in trouble and hurt besides, for when someone with an accent such as his speaks even a little critically it can be easily taken as a terrible insult and without anything to defend him he was an easy target.
So he learned to be better at people - but he struggled to really be comfortable with people again until Vox Machina.
Also Percy absolutely had acne.
Vesper - 5: Fear Headcanon
When I asked if you meant Percy's sister Vesper or Percy's daughter Vesper you said that I could decide which and so I decide that I shall do both.
Vesper de Rolo (the Elder)
Vesper of all of Percy's siblings, was probably the most calmly confident, the most steady. She was someone who knew her worth and her skills and actively sought to further those: she knew what niche she would one day be expected to fill, supporting Julius' eventual rule of Whitestone until he married and his spouse was able to do so, leaving her free to do as she pleased, either taking on another, similar role, or marrying herself.
She knew what was expected of her, and was comfortable with what was expected of her, and while she was aware of the potential for horrible things, such as an attack or a rebellion or an overthrow, that torture and related violations could exist... she'd never really had cause to fear it. She'd never really had cause to fear much at all. Shapeless formless childhood nightmares at most - but she knew her skills and knew her role and was good at what she did. She was not the nervous sort to develop assorted anxieties or fears, she was not prone to phobias or sudden concerns.
She was not really prepared for the paralysing fear that took her when she and all the rest were put in the cells. One of the last things she wished before she died was that she'd been more present to offer comfort to her siblings.
Vesper Elaina de Rolo (the Younger)
This Vesper is not unlike her namesake in a lot of ways - rarely given cause to fear, aware of her skills and prepared to fulfil the likely role ahead of her and, indeed, training to better fulfil it. I think Vesper the younger is like her father in a lot of ways, with a deep sense of duty, and I highly doubt, despite the many people who might have it out for Vox Machina, that Percy, Vex, any of the others of Vox Machina, or any else around them, would let that fall on the children.
So, growing up, she has little cause to fear. There are, as with her namesake, nameless, formless, nightmare fears as a child, but largely growing up, she was too protected and comfortable and safe to really fear all that much in any lasting way that left a mark on her.
But that doesn't mean fear left no mark.
Her pale hair is striking, after all, and alike to her father's and no one is exactly sure why. She's no aasimar - she learned Celestial at Percy's knee, but it doesn't come naturally to her, and she has none of the celestial-guided dreams - but she does seem to be some kind of blessed. Vex attributes this to Pelor, to having carried Vesper through death and resurrection and taking the challenge to become Pelor's champion and Vesper is, once she's grown, inclined to agree. It makes sense, she feels, that she be some kind of planetouched after all of that, even if she is no true aasimar.
Percy doesn't know if it makes sense or is true, however. There is a part of him, very aware of how and why his hair went pale, that wonders if that death of Vex's left this lasting mark on their daughter. If his own marks of trauma left their daughter predisposed to this. If all else that they did - their trips to elemental planes (they made, after all, repeated ones to fire and at least one to water, as well as a trip to the Frostfell), to Elysium, yes, but also to Pandaemonium and the hells, if his own deals with Orthax and with Ipkesh-
Her father, Vesper thinks (Vesper knows as she grows) continually fears what impact his actions will have on her and her siblings.
She is glad, by the time that Gwendolyn is born, that her father has taken on Vex's belief - that it only matters as much as they let it matter, and that they will love all their children regardless.
She does not forget the fear, though, that continual concern of how past decisions will affect the future and one's family, and it is something she bears in mind as she goes to help her Aunt Cassandra and learn what she can about how Whitestone and it's Council work.

ST4 Thoughts
Alright, apologies for those who were waiting for this, it's unlikely there would be but anyways wow what a season also please excuse my messy structure, i have too many emotions that i can't exactly type out okay so
At first I didn't like the new season, i'm not very open to seeing new characters and atmosphere
I wasn't too fond of eddie, he just gave off billy vibes, when i mean billy vibes i mean he looked scary, forceful, i didn't like his treatment towards mike and dustin, he also looked like one of those goth people or something who think they're so cool, but that quickly went away when he and chrissy had a talk, like he was so reassuring??? he was so soft to her??? I loved them, they had potential but yk she died which honestly i was not expecting,
its so funny how they just made this dude on the run during half of the season, i literally hoped the basketball team wouldn't hurt him, stranger things really does have that magic where unbearable characters that are entwined with the supernatural shit, like witness it turned out to be really likable
( ngl i expected eddie to actually perform while being in the upside down because it was in the trailer like lmao think about it)
also I liked fred too poor dude, nancy's friends just keep dying on her- and argyle just gives off hippie vibes and all so he was cool, i literally laughed at his panic during the gun scenes
dmitri turned out to be a pretty awesome character too, i love his dynamic with hopper, like i fucking hoped he wouldn't die during the demogorgon battle and also One??? JAMIE CAMPBELL BOWER NAILED THAT ROLE, I LOVED HIM, I'M SO GLAD HE'S GETTING RECOGNITION LIKE AT LEAST HIS MOST KNOWN ROLE WOULD BE ONE NOT CAIUS ANYMORE
the only characters i wasnt really fond of was the basketball team and angela because ugh they're like hero wannabes and shit, and chrissy's boyfriend just gives off kyle vibes, and angela, ugh she was so bitchy to el, and what happened to her fucking forehead was deserved, girl had it coming
DUDE I DID NOT EXPECT FOR TAMMY THOMPSON TO SHOW UP, THAT'S LIKE THE BIGGEST TWIST OF THE SEASON LMAO
Eleven and Will? Hellooo sibling bonding, i love these two so much, and will is so supportive and protective of her??? how will quickly claims he's her family ughhh that's so fucking beautiful. I wished he hugged her though when he was comforting her
also mike what the fuck was that greeting, are you guys not like bestfriends? Like what the fuck was that? It was so awkward
damn bro i lived for one and eleven's bonding, he was so helpful to her, they could've achieved world peace lol but srs i loved the dynamic
Joyce and Murray were the funniest duo, and honestly i did not expect murray to be having those skills, KING
also i think it's interesting that nancy and robin have interacted with each other, because in terms of their love lives didn't nancy also changed herself for steve? Like Robin is doing the same just less focused. And I think they should talk about this and shit
Steve and dustin's bromance are still the fucking best
Erica walking to the hellfire club like with an american flag cape??? WHAT A QUEEN I LOVE HER, I was also so happy to see the sinclairs winning their respective games especially Lucas, he actually got more relevance in this season bravo, i felt so bad for him because he was just so lonely? None of his friends are there for him and max broke up with him? Then he got replaced with his sister, though temporarily but i felt like to him it felt permanent and im sure he felt really hurt to see that his friends whom he wanted to be in his game were cheering for erica which could've been him, and like he's tired of being a loser, he just wants it all to stop i love that we had more depth on his character
THE CALLBACKS TO THE PREVIOUS SEASONS, I LOVED IT AND ACTUALLY HAD FUN DEDUCING THOSE SHIT
AND I LOVED EPISODE FOUR SO MUCH, I LITERALLY CRIED AT HER MEMORIES, THE MUSIC, THE LETTERS (IM CURIOUS WHAT SHE WROTE), THE LUMAX MOMENTS? WE DESERVED THAT SHIT UGHH TOP TIER EPISODE
VOL. 1 FINALE HAD ME STARING AT THE SCREEN WITH MY MOUTH OPEN, THAT TWIST FUCKING GOT ME AND IM LIKE HOLY SHIT THAT WAS AN AMAZING SEASON, AND I WAS ALREADY DREADING FOR THE SECOND
and now for the things i didn't like
I didn't like the implications that Steve and Nancy clearly had a thing for each other again, because isn't it way past that? Whatever it's probably just me
The california group was way too sidelined, especially Jonathan, he is so fucking underrated but I'm glad we got to see Suzie tho, i loved how she was all sarcastic at the printing thing
ALSO DID EVERYONE IN THE SHOW REALLY FORGET WILL'S BIRTHDAY? WHAT THE FUCK, THAT IS LITERALLY SO CRUEL I CANT
and lastly where the fuck is Steve's bat?
So that's my thoughts on season four, i can't wait for vol. 2, i'm so glad I became a part of this hype and watched the series in general like i just started the show on a bluff but this show has made me so happy, it has comforted me and i am totally immersed in it

I think a part of their being less fanfics is that a some of people who wrote fanfic left the fandom due to the long gaps between unlocked and Stellarlune, as well as them not liking Stellarlune.
This is shown in the way that there is a lot of AU fics or post-canon fics. While a lot fo people do enjoy writing canon-complimentary fics, it’s not something everyone is interested in, plus canon right now is kind of weird so it’s easier to just ignore it.
Also, it seems that a lot of the fandom is older now, so we are more critical of our work and have less time/motivation to write fanfic, even if we want to. Plus, as people get older, they are more aware of how characters are out of character in our writing and they therefore feel the need to make them all in character.
To add on to that, the hits to likes/kudos to comments ratio is so freaking off it’s not even funny. There’s less engagement, which leads people to believe that they are not good at writing, which means that they shouldn’t post anything.
I know what I said isn’t true for everyone, but that does feel like that’s what is happening. I am just speaking based off of what I see and experience. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
What are your thoughts on this Quil? Do you agree or disagree? Do you think this will continue or will it be resolved with the next book?
Sincerely, ⚙️
(PS I wanted to say that I did read your Kam one shot and while I didn’t really fully process what was going on, I did enjoy reading it. You did a good job at nailing their characters. When I have the time, I will properly explain every feeling that I have.)
That's a fair observation--the one thing I'd say to your comments about older fandom members leaving and current older members having less time is that fandom is always in flux. There's always new people joining and others leaving, at least here, but it doesn't seem like as many of the newer people are fic writers. Like there were some popular fanartists who aren't in the fandom anymore, but we still have popular fanartists who have joined since. And my anecdotal observation is that that doesn't seem to be happening with fic writers as much--but again, that's a casual observation not a vetted one so I may be off or just not seeing new writers myself
Though our fandom is in a weird place right now with longer wait times and the story taking an unexpected direction, so I'm sure that also has an impact. I don't think there's any one thing that's responsible, there's an intersection of different things that impact people in different ways. I'm really just focusing on one that we have more control over. We can't control all the other factors, but we can collaboratively make a supportive, encouraging space for writers of all skill levels and interests! And I think it would be neat to do so!
As for the hit/like/kudos ratio, it is disheartening at times. Though I do think we shouldn't be basing our self-worth and opinions of our writing on interaction. If someone feels shitty about their writing/skill level because of low interaction I believe they should reflect and work to disconnect that sense of self from others' opinions, not that we need to interact to make them feel better. That is something for them to work through for themselves
But at the same time, it would be naive to completely ignore how interaction shapes writing and creation in general in fandom spaces. Because it does play a role for many. Fandom spaces are a community, and community is built on interaction and support!
I have no way of knowing what will happen with the next book or what the fandom will look like--like I said, it's always changing, and my time blindness makes it very difficult for me personally to see and understand the cycle of slumps and activity. But I think we, as a fandom, do have the opportunity to take some measure of control over this.
We can choose how to react to what we see and what kind of space we want to create. We could wait for the next book and just kinda see what happens, or we could make an active effort now to interact with writers and their work when we read it, and to separate our sense of worth from the amount of interaction we get.
That doesn't mean everyone has to go out and read tons of fic and leave the longest comments in the world, just that I think many of us (and this 100% includes me too) could put in a small amount of more effort to interact with fics and writers to support fic in fandoms in a variety of ways.
I'll leave it there for now, but there is always more to be said so don't take everything as the entirety of my thoughts. The main point of my post commenting on how I saw less fic was me going "hmm, I can't control everything else happening, but interaction and encouragement is very helpful for writers and something within my control and I want to support writers more than I do currently". I'm not intending to make some grand sweeping statement or push others to do things, it's just what I've reflected on and what I want to do about it :)

Daydreaming about Scaramoche because I have issues
I wanna just rant into the void a bit- no leaks, no speculations, no theory or smth, just. A Scaramouche-simp daydreaming because Mihoyo isn’t feeding us crumbs to actually make coherent theories about playable Scaramouche
Just. What would his playstyle be? If he’s a Catalyst, what would DPS Scaramouche look like? Classic catalyst with fancy, elegant movements like Lisa and Yae Miko, or more chaotic and playful like Heizou’s kickboxing or Klee throwing bombs? I’m imaging him to be completely unhinged and chaotic, not giving a shit about anything and anyone when he’s on the battlefield. An absolute nightmare of an ally, so to say. He’s a very mysterious dude with a smug attitude, so... I kinda see this carrying over into his fighting style. Not like Childe, who’s a natural warrior and who looks chaotic but like... skillfully chaotic, if that makes sense? Like. He’s hopeless with a bow, but with his dualblades and spear, his every move looks practiced and smooth.
Scaramouche was a wandering eccentric before he joined the Fatui, so he’s likely never had anyone to really teach him how to handle a weapon and he probably just figured out a style that worked for him. Like Razor in a way, who’s fighting style is very aggressive and chaotic, since he grew up with wolves. I.. kinda see Scaramouche behave similar to that, in that his fighting style is just ‘a means to get it done’, no matter how chaotic it is.
If he’s support, how would that look? How would his moveset support his team? Buffing his teammembers, passively reducing the opponent’s resistance to elements? Like I said, he seems to be good at scheming, so... maybe his idea of support isn’t healing and buffing but rather directly affecting the opponent. Or if he’s a healer, some form of that one Pokemon-move... what’s it called, Bloodsucker? Where you steal HP from your opponent to heal. Where every hit with Scaramouche steals HP for your own team.
He was cast aside for being too fragile and I think it is canon that he’s fond of kids and elderly, so... I see him as more of a support, rather than DPS. Maybe it’s just a passive skill, like... when he’s on the team, the whole team’s elemental RES gets buffed or something. Or like Kuki who sacrifices a large portion of her own HP to slowly heal the team. Idk, just... Childe is obviously more of a main DPS with his passive increasing the normal attack by 1, but Scara? If he really is a Catalyst, you CAN make him a healer with the prototype, or a support with dragontales.
I think Catalysts are generally hard to nail down as what their real role is, with all of them being able to be both support and DPS with a proper build, so... it’ll be interesting to see how Mihoyo will design Scara’s kit. If they’ll force him to be DPS by making him, idk.... unable to be equipped with the prototype or unable to heal, like how Ei is the only character who can’t cook. Or something like Kokomi who has negative crit rate and thus making him less appealing as DPS.
They have to know that the fanbase is so hyped for Scara, so... fingers crossed his kit will be well designed (tho I’m still  clinging to my dream of Hydro Claymore Scara who scales with HP... pls, give the Bell finally some love-)

Witness The Great Bharat Rescue Mission In “Mission Raniganj”!
Tumblr media
“Log Bole Mujhe Bollywood Star. Naam Mera Akshay Kumar!” That’s right! The Khiladi is back again as a brave Sardaar after “Singh Is King”, now in a serious historic disaster-drama titled “Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue”. Written by Vipul Rawal, co-produced by Jackky Bhagnani, and directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, Mission Raniganj was theatrically released on October 6, 2023. Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue Featuring Akshay Kumar As Mining Engineer Jaswant Singh Gill! https://youtu.be/u5W0a3Qqe7M?si=YiDGZ9-zahJkS2F3 This is a true story. When 65 miners got trapped in the flooded Raniganj coal mine, it was all up to mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill (Akshay Kumar) to rescue them. Jaswant led a challenging and life-threatening rescue mission to save the miners. Watch this thrilling disaster drama to find out how he rescued them and if he was able to rescue all of them. Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue Official Trailer: https://youtu.be/QFf91hnpClI?si=OU73hEeUlY-OzC6C The Good: Quite an entertaining story, I have to admit! The story and screenplay of Mission Raniganj are engaging. Tension and thrill build up every moment in this disaster-thriller as the miners get trapped deep down the flooded coal mine and Jaswant Singh Gill (Akshay Kumar) plans and makes every effort to rescue them. Of course, this heroic act is a true story that dates back to the year 1989. The thrilling intensity in the screenplay is immense which will keep you glued to your seats and you will surely bite your nails off! Akshay Kumar appears heroic as a daredevil Sardaar in Mission Raniganj. His character Jaswant Singh Gill is a mining engineer who looks determined and can go up to any extent to save the trapped miners. I am seeing Akshay as a Sardaar once again after having seen him as one in his “Singh Is King” film series. And this time, Akshay plays a mature and married Sardaar and he appears quite convincing for his age. The lead actress Parineeti Chopra, who played Jaswant’s wife, carried out her role with conviction. Though her role was short, she performed pretty well. The cast included veteran actors Kumud Mishra, Ravi Kishan, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya who lent great support. There’s also a dog in this movie, and I have to admit that it has a very prominent role and has been well-trained for the shots. https://youtu.be/VbSJ6fhsHZw?si=T6fbR6LfxYjAJgZJ The sequences in Mission Raniganj have been precisely edited to maintain the flow. The sets depicting coal mines were realistic. The cinematography of this movie has a cryptic essence which adds to the mystifying atmosphere. Moreover, the tracks are loud and entertaining. The track “Jeetenge” raises a ray of hope for the trapped miners. The Bad: Even if Akshay looks fantastic as Jaswant Singh Gill, his character lacks emotions. He appears too practical which kills the emotional essence in this movie. After all, the storyline is sensitive and it should have had an emotional impact on the audience. But after watching Akshay’s pragmatic character, the emotion towards the situation that should have built up in the minds of the audience, gets lost. At certain points in the 2-hour and 15-minute screenplay, you may feel monotony and depression after seeing the plight of the trapped miners. Also, the story lacks twists and turns as it is based on a dedicated rescue mission only. So, as the screenplay proceeds, at certain dry and melodramatic instances, you may start feeling bored. The dialogues in Mission Raniganj are ordinary. Such plain dialogues fail to create an impact during tense situations. https://youtu.be/2EdgAic4nao?si=C_dgDBzC1onIqgUj The Verdict: Mission Raniganj’s skillful direction and gripping narrative make it worth the watch. Even if Mission Raniganj is thrilling and entertaining, it fails to pack an emotional punch. Emotions coupled with thrill happen to be a major deciding factor in Hindi cinema. If emotions are absent in a disaster-based Hindi movie, that movie will fail to entice Indian audiences and as a result, may fail at the box office as well. https://youtu.be/kGswH_0SVMg?si=8pbQbJBWidWovThs Read the full article
