Our fandom icon @bluebutter-art is celebrating her birthday today and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to once again scream about this fantastic human and unbelievably talented artist. I’m sure I don’t need to tell anyone how gifted Blue is, and how she has created 90% of my all-time favourite Drarry artworks at this point - her depictions speak so deeply to my soul that they’ve easily become my personal headcanon for these characters, not only in terms of appearance, mannerisms, posture and gadgets, but also storytelling-wise. To me Blue is just like a fic writer in the sense she’s able to come up with these rich, vibrant, aesthetically gorgeous and tender love stories, and that’s without including a single line of dialogue if she so desires. Her work has such emotional depth and resonance it feels like I’m reading a 30k fic with exciting plots, charming characters, witty flirting and the gentlest, sexiest get together. It’s just so impressive - and quite unbelievable to think we’re this lucky to have someone like her in our fandom. I don’t know how Blue gets to tug at my poor heartstrings every.single.time with poignant character arcs, witty expressions and compelling physique 🥵

Beyond her undeniable skill, Blue is also joyful, enthusiastic and supportive presence in the fandom. She shares unconditional love for fic, creators and friends, and it’s always the best company to exchange fic recs and indulgent praise for Harry’s thighs or Draco’s hair these idiots in love. Blue darling, I’m so happy we got to become friends, I couldn’t be more excited about your return to the fandom. Thank you so much for sharing your incredible universes and work with us, I know I’m not alone when I tell you what a big role model and fandom legend you are. We are so lucky to have you around! The ying yang aesthetics are striking, I love the detailed outfits, the vibrant colors and beautiful textures, their delicate intertwined hands! As a side note this art was based off a song that I love from this amazing album by Sleeping at Last, double kudos for that!

Wine Night

Still one of my personal favourites, I’m so soft for this brand of slice-of-life domesticity! Harry’s fond smile watching the people he loves the most together in the same room is a gorgeous portrayal of those moments of soft realization when we’re hit by the thought “god, I’m so lucky I get to be around these people”. This art captures perfectly the magic of those moments in time, and my heart is full and warm, right there with Harry’s.

This is my all-time favorite Drarry comic alongside a series from Dustmouth, and hands down my favorite piece from last year’s Sudsfest. It’s still hard to talk about (or even look at) it without getting all choked up. Within just a few lovely, meaningful panels, Blue delivers the most touching, deeply emotionally packed love story. This is a triumph, a poignant journey about grief and healing, quietly devastating but still full of hope and warmth. If you haven’t checked it yet what are you even doing with your fandom life?

Sometimes it’s Now or Never

This is one of the comics I revisit the most, I adore it so so much. Auror Harry trusting Draco to patch him up after a raid is THE ULTIMATE TROPE and Blue executes it so perfectly. The storytelling is complete and effective, you can feel the trust and tenderness between these characters without needing further background on their relationship. The amount of time I spent looking at those kissing panels, mesmerized at Harry’s silent resolve and Draco’s sweet tenderness as he yields into the kiss… *sigh* peak romance!

when grant wants to feel something, he'll watch videos of the curiosity rover on mars singing happy birthday to itself 🎂 it's so incredibly sad but cute to him, so it immediately turns on the waterworks lolol 🥲

objectively, grant is NOT a car guy; he's 110% an airplane guy. however, he owns a car that makes him look like a car guy and gets him approached ALL THE TIME by people who want to talk cars. it's a 1960 ford galaxie and it looks like this, except i think it would be a nice shade of light, almost minty green or maybe blue (no, i haven't decided, and probably won't because there's no cc version of this car for the sims 4, so we'll never see it lol) 💚💙

why is that his car? 🚗 well, it was his grandparents' car, which he bought off them when they wanted to replace it; they have never had a garage or a carport in their entire life, so the car was exposed to the elements for fifty years, and it was, thus, fucked up. they were also tired of fixing it. however, it's a sentimental car because aoife and joseph met working on the same production line at a ford auto factory, and this car was the first one they bought as a couple in their marriage (even though aoife ironically does not know how to drive lmao). they wanted it gone but also didn't, you know, so grant bought it because he also didn't want to see it gone; he'd spent his whole life sandwiching into that backseat with 8 billion of his cousins. oh, aaandddd he bought it even though the necessary repairs were extensive, which he did all by himself with help from his grandparents and uncle (aka people who know shit about cars)

a shorter fun fact: he smokes luckies 🫢

grant has been on TV before! it was very brief, for like five seconds, but he was interviewed by his hometown news station after his high school hockey team won the state championship game one year and he was granted the MVP title. he was very nervous, and his friends ended up nicknaming him "mr. team effort" because his entire interview was him just saying things like, "oh, um, well, it was a team effort, and we worked really hard...together...as a team..."

- A few months after the two of them started dating, Logan and Patton started to share a room more often. This led to them often confusing their glasses with each other’s when they went to put them on in the mornings since their glasses were identical. Logan decided to fix this problem by getting Patton a new pair of glasses. He knew the moral side often discussed wanting to try more colorful glasses, so Logan found a light blue pair that would match Patton’s shirt. The pair of glasses also had round frames, since he remembered Patton talking about how he liked the idea of having round frame glasses. The moral side ended up loving the glasses when Logan gave them to him, and he wears them often. Although Patton still wears his old ones sometimes since he’s a sentimental person and has happy memories attached to his original pair of glasses.

- Logan is really good at cooking, while Patton is really good at baking. This leads to them often making meals for the sides together. Logan cooks dinner and Patton bakes some desserts for afterwards.

- Patton and Logan like to watch cooking & baking competition shows together.

- Logan has never been super comfortable giving and receiving physical affection. But with Patton, Logan enjoys giving and receiving all kinds of affection. The logical side enjoys Patton’s hugs and forehead kisses. It was the realization that he enjoyed simple affection like hugs from Patton, and had a desire to give affection back to Patton that made Logan realize he liked Patton in the first place.

- Patton gave Logan a unicorn plushie for his birthday after finding out about the logical side’s unicorn onesie. Logan is too embarrassed to say how much he likes it, but Patton knows Logan appreciates the gift after he sees the stuffed animal sitting on Logan’s lap as he’s working on things for Thomas.

"Ah… here ya go Lo, it's okay if you don't like it, there's a return card… I just thought you might so…" Virgil shrugged, trying to play it casual, burying his hands in his hoodie pocket. He sniffed a little, his nose feeling stuffed ever since he woke up.

"Are you okay, Virgil?" Logan asked him with a slight frown, to which Virgil dismissed quickly.

Logan nodded and took the present from him curiously, unwrapping it carefully, even though it wasn't wrapped very well, despite Virgil's best efforts. His eyes widened a bit when he saw the book Virgil got him. "I… thought they sold out."

Virgil shrugged again, feeling a headache setting in, "well… you know, I have a cousin that works at a bookstore and I asked him to pull some strings… it's no big deal you've just been talking about this book non-stop." He huffed fondly at that.

"...you were listening?" Came Logan's quiet response as he hugged the book to his chest.

Virgil blushed slightly, "ah… yeah, of course, it's nice… hearing you talk I mean, I don't know."

There was a gleam in Logan's blue eyes as he looked at his friend, "you really think so? I understand most people find it boring…"

Virgil huffed again, "well, good thing I'm not most people then. I find listening to you somewhat relaxing… sorry if that's a weird thing to say."

Logan shook his head, "not at all it's… well, thank you, Virgil, I appreciate it."

"No problem, happy birthday, Logan." Virgil said with a small smile.

"Thank you for stopping by to give me this, I'll see you at school tomorrow?"

Virgil snorted at that, making Logan frown, "did I say something funny?"

"You thought I only came here to give you a book? C'mon, I got more stuff planned." Virgil laughed a little, getting up from Logan's bed, Logan following suit soon after.

"I hope you don't mean a part-"

Virgil raised an eyebrow before he can finish.

"...right, forgot who I was talking to." Logan smiled slightly in amusement in response to their similarities, "so where are we going?"

Virgil smiled at that, "you'll see."

"We're at your house?" Logan asked when they arrived.

Virgil nodded, the short walk making him feel more tired than it should… "Yeah, you know, none of us likes big parties and stuff so I thought we'd just hang out at my place. I ordered food from your favorite place and I thought we can binge the new season of Doctor Who you didn't have time to watch yet…" he shrugged, "we can do something else if you want, I just thought-"

Logan shook his head, smiling, "it sounds perfect, Virgil, thank you."

Virgil went ahead to unlock the door and let them both in, trying to hide his faint blush, "oh… it's no problem, Lo."

They went inside and got comfortable on the couch with their steaming ramen bowls.

As Virgil pressed play on the first episode he suddenly sneezed loudly, cleaning himself quickly with a tissue. His head was pounding now.

"Virgil? Are you sure you're okay? You look a bit pale…" Logan scooted closer to gently press the back of his hand to Virgil's forehead, "your body temperature seems to be high too, I think you might have a cold-"

"No, I'm fine… just a little-" he sneezed again, "tired." He finished. He can't be sick today! Today's about Logan, not him.

Logan gave him one of his stern looks that told him he wasn't buying it, "Virgil, you're clearly sick, your parents are away right? I'd be happy to take of you-"

"I'm okay! Really, let's just… have fun together." He insisted, a practiculary painful pound from his head making him wince slightly.

Logan huffed in annoyance, "you're obviously in pain, come on, let's get you to your bed." He got up and offered his hands to help Virgil get up.

"But… your birthday-" he protested weakly.

"It's just a day, Virgil, your health is much more important. Besides, you know I like taking care of you. Now, up on your feet." Logan urged him, pulling gently on his arm.

Virgil went to argue again, but he sneezed again, making his headache pound harder and he sighed in surrender, getting up slowly. "Okay…"

….

As he laid in bed, Logan gave him a steaming mug with herbal tea.

Virgil took it, sighing again, "thanks Lo… and sorry… for ruining your day."

Logan smiled softly, "you didn't ruin anything, Virgil. Getting to take care of you is the best gift I could have asked for."

Virgil grimaced at that, "but you always do that… just wanted to take care of you for a change… you deserve it, you know?"

"What are you talking about? Of course you take care of me, you do it all the time!" Logan said honestly.

"I do? Like when?" Virgil asked in surprise.

"Well, you told off Zack the other day after he made fun of me." Logan said, making Virgil huff.

"He had it coming."

"You helped me finish my art project when I was too busy with my physics project." Logan continued to list things off.

Virgil shrugged, "it wasn't very hard…"

"You got me a book I thought I'll only see in another 10 years at least, if not more." He said, showing him the book he got him for his birthday.

"Most of the credit for that is for my cousin…"

Logan rolled his eyes, "what I'm trying to say is, you're a good friend, Virgil. I always feel like I can rely on you and I'm always grateful when I get to return the favor."

Virgil smiled at that, "really?" To which Logan nodded, "gee Specs… I don't know what to say."

"No need to say anything, just finish your tea while I make you some chicken soup." He said, getting up from his place on Virgil's bed.

Virgil rolled his eyes fondly as Logan walked away, "okay mom."

Logan chuckled, turning around at the doorway, "that mug better be empty when I get back or else you're in big trouble, young man."

Virgil snorted and Logan closed the door, so maybe he didn't really ruin this birthday…

How did you find TOA? I track the Marianne tag on Tumblr and saw the previous Marianne drop. The old shit post emblem group I was in was falling apart and I thought it would be nice to join a new one.

January 13th is my late Mom's birthday, so to celebrate, I lit a tealight and took one of the necklaces she made me. This butterfly necklace was made for me for my brother's wedding. Mom loved butterflies, so I felt she liked this idea. She would have been 70 this year, and I do miss her terribly. But I also see her in the butterflies that fly by me or land on me, and she has come to me many times in dreams and meditations. 🦋💙🦋💙 and I keep this beautiful grief with me, because I was loved so fiercely by her in life.

Scooping the pieces of lettuce he’d just cut into the bowl, Eddie heard the front door open, followed by the telltale sounds of Buck slipping out of his shoes and dropping his duffel to the floor. Within seconds, his boyfriend was rounding the corner, those blues immediately honing in on Eddie.

“Hey babe,” Buck said, following it with a chaste kiss to Eddie’s lips as he walked by on his way to the fridge.

“Hi yourself. So, tomorrow’s your birthday.”

Buckled mumbled something non-committal around his drink of juice as his fingers rummaged through the fridge for a snack.

“So, what do you want? For your birthday I mean?”

Sure Eddie had bought a gift weeks ago, though he didn’t really think it was anything special. He’d gotten Buck a pair of tickets to the new space museum, knowing the extra one would go to their son. Eddie was of course fine with this, he just didn’t think the gift was anything spectacular or really meaningful; he was terrible at buying gifts, ok?

Eddie watched as Buck popped a few grapes into his mouth, turning his attention over to him.

“I dunno. Just a night with my two favorite boys. Dinner in and maybe…how about you make me a cake?”

Eddie all but cut himself with the knife he was using to chop the lettuce, the utensil dropping to the cutting board with a clattering sound.

“I’m—you want-want me to make you a…cake?”

“Yea sure, why not?”

Buck wanted him to bake a cake…from scratch? His lessons with Linda hadn’t been going that well.

“Um, are you sure you don’t—I mean I could buy you one of those ice-cream cakes you’ve been wanting from Baskin’ Robins?”

Buck shook his head, moving toward Eddie, placing a kiss to his forehead.

“I have faith in you babe. I wanna see those new cooking skills of yours,” Buck said with a wink as he headed out of the kitchen and down the hall, making his way to the shower to clean up before dinner.

How the hell was Eddie supposed to bake an entire cake, one that was meant to impress the love of his life?

Buck had been able to distract Eddie last night, taking him apart and putting him back together more than once, though now that Eddie was alone again, he was completely spiraling.

Thankfully Buck was spending the morning with the Buckley-Hans, giving Eddie the proper time to freak out. He’d been standing in the baking aisle for far too long now, scrolling through recipe after recipe. He knew he could easily call Linda or even his Abuela, but he wanted to do this on his own, for Buck, the man that had the upmost faith in him for some reason.

He considered trying to make Buck that ice-cream cake he always salivated over, though just the thought of that overwhelmed him. So he decided on something a little easier, scrolling until he found a flavor combination that he knew Buck would love.

After clicking onto the recipe and scrolling through some blog that was eighty years of Rebecca’s life on the farm and baking with her grandmother, Eddie finally got to the directions, skimming over them until he found the ingredients. Thankfully they already had most of the ingredients at home, Eddie going through the store to pick up the ones they didn’t.

When he got home, Eddie looked through the directions again, gathering everything he would need onto the counter. Christopher was at school, so he had the house to himself, no one around to see this disaster that was no doubt about to take place.

He preheated the oven first, glancing back to the directions; the first one already had him scrambling. Sift? What the hell did that even mean?

After looking it up, and watching a video or two, Eddie remembered seeing Buck use the particular device a time or two, rummaging through the cupboards until he found it. Step one, done.

The next part involved the electric mixer, something Eddie had become fairly familiar with. After mixing all the wet ingredients, Eddie added in the dry ones—because apparently that mattered—his batter looking quite tasty if he said so himself.

He divided the batter into the pans, placing them into the oven, setting a timer after. Next he got started on the frosting, taking his time to perfect it, tasting it as he went. While he waited for the cake to cook, Eddie went about cleaning the kitchen, not wanting Buck to come home to a mess on his birthday.

With the counters cleaned and the dishes done, Eddie pulled the cake out of the oven, praying he hadn’t burned it. Since the cake needed to cool for a bit, Eddie took his phone out, pulling up his favorite contact.

Eddie: how’s the birthday boy doing?

Buck: ready to come home and enjoy my cake 🎂 🍑 👀

God his boyfriend was going to be the death of him one day.

Eddie worked on wrapping the rest of Bucks present, making sure the cake was cool before he frosted one half, placing the other half on top, trapping the frosting between them. He spread the rest of the frosting over the outer part, sculpting it until there weren’t any weird lumps or imperfections.

He stared at the finished product for about five minutes before he considered tossing the whole thing in the trash. There was still time for him to run to the store and buy one. Buck would never know, right?

“Oh, I would definitely know.”

Shit, when had his charmingly handsome boyfriend walked in?

Eddie kept himself plastered in front of the cake, not quite ready for Buck to see it yet.

“C’mere.”

Eddie ushered Buck toward him, wrapping his boyfriend in his arms once he was close enough.

“Happy Birthday baby.”

Pressing his lips to Bucks’ he opened his mouth, Buck slipping right in. They shared a few heated kisses before they pulled apart, both of them a little breathless.

Buck tried to peak around him, though Eddie held him at bay.

“So, when do I get to see this masterpiece?”

Eddie snorted. “Well I don’t think I’d quite call it that. Besides, we should wait for Chris.”

Buck pouted out his lower lip, Eddie leaning in to kiss it away.

“Well what if it’s—bad? We don’t wanna poison our kid, do we?”

Eddie placed a hand over his heart, pretending to be wounded.

“I thought you said it was a masterpiece?”

Buck laughed into him, Eddie wrapping his arms around him once more.

“Please babe?”

How was Eddie supposed to tell that pleading voice no?

“Fine, but just one bite, then we save the rest for later.”

Buck nodded quickly in agreement, Eddie finally giving in and allowing Buck to see his ‘masterpiece.’

“Well, what do you think? I know it probably looks terrible.”

“What flavor is it? And it doesn’t look terrible Eds.”

Buck had to be lying, though Eddie let the compliment warm him anyway.

“It’s banana chocolate chip with peanut butter frosting.”

Eddie could all but see Buck salivating, his tongue poking out to lick over his lips. Buck picked the platter up, raising it to his face, as he inhaled the delicious scents.

“God this smells so good Eds.”

Eddie’s face flushed as he took the plate from Buck, pressing a knife into the end as he cut off a slice, handing it out to Buck. He watched as Buck all but shoved the entire slice into his mouth, Eddie shaking his head with a fondness. The man was such a menace with food.

“Did you even taste that?”

Eddie couldn’t help but to step forward, placing his lips over Bucks’, licking up the extra frosting that laid there.

“I tasted that.”

Oh yes, his boyfriend was trouble.

“Well, what-what did you think?”

Eddie let his insecurities slip out, though Buck was right there to kiss them away.

“Best cake ever, especially because you made it just for me. It tasted fuckin’ awesome too.”

Eddie laughed as he tugged Buck in by the hips, pulling him closer.

“I love you Ev, so much.”

“And I love you Eds, especially these fancy new cooking skills of yours.”

Pressing himself closer to Buck, Eddie reached behind him, swiping some of the frosting onto his finger before smearing it across Buck’s lips and kissing it away.

“Did I tell you there’s an entire bowl of extra frosting?”

Buck groaned into him, the savory peanut butter taste mixing between them.

Eddie might have to put these new skills of his to use more often, maybe even make a cake that he could slip the ring right into, the one that’s been in his bedside drawer for months.
