I’ve watched FMAB a thousand times but Greed’s death STILL gets me every fucking time. 1. Him realizing that Ling is going to get hurt and possibly killed by Father if Greed doesn’t leave his body, 2. Greed coming to terms with the fact that he’s definitely going to get killed by Father but he’s willing to make the sacrifice for Ling, and 3. Greed discovering that what he wanted was what he had the entire time, and that was true friends who would stick with him through thick and thin, who would share the same experiences and failures and triumphs and still love him despite his homunculus status. I’m so.

Also I’m SO pissed at the fact that Pride got to live but Greed didn’t. In my brain I kept saying “Well yeah I guess it makes sense for all of the homunculi to die bc they came from Father and HE has to die” but then I remembered that Pride LIVES and that makes me so salty. Out of all the homunculi Greed deserved to live the MOST AND I JUST. FUCKIGN.

After nearly two years of on-again off-again work here it is, the animatic that's been stuck in my head ever since I first heard this song back in 2018!! Finishing this behemoth was my big goal for the year and that was even before I decided to fully illustrate it, but somehow here we are!

I honestly wasn't ever sure if I'd be able to make this a reality since the song is a mix of fast paced with slower portions and I didn't think static images would fit very well, but rather than give up on it I was super inspired by @siruoa‘s brilliant greedling artvid over here, and decided to give that style a shot myself with just the best results I could’ve hoped for!

Anyways thanks to all of ya’ll that have been so patient and encouraging since I dropped the sketch version last spring, I hope you all enjoy my love letter to FMA, Greed, and this this banging song as much as I do~

All art and animation was done within Clip Studio Paint EX over the course of 12 months. Overall this animation has 70 shots made up of 11 active animation folders, with the more complicated shots having up to 7 pieces moving at a time. Fullmetal Alchemist Role Exchange AU | BASIL MIDASON

Further expansion on the Role Reversal concept, with Greed playing the role of Ling. Basil (or just 'Bas' for short) is a disgraced, exiled prince from a far off kingdom (not Xing, unfortunately). He wants to discover the secret to eternal life to restore his honour and retake the throne.

On his journey into Amestris, he just so happened to come across the Military's experimental chimeras - Dolcetto and Martel - and recued them. In exchange, they agree to work for him as loyal bodyguards.

Martel and Dolcetto play Lan Fan and Fu's roles, respectively.

While his and the Bradley Brother's relationship started out standoffishly, they'll be as thick as thieves by the end.
