wow almost seems like this whole romanticization of "girlhood" thing kind of revolves entirely around consumerisim. "little treats". 10 step skincare regimens. "girl math" as an excuse to be financially illiterate. be a good girl, don't think, just spend inordinate amts of money to conform to the latest tiktok microtrend bc that's all it means to be a girl <3

One thing you have to remember is that online queer discourse doesn't make a damn bit of difference to systemic queerphobia irl or LGBT rights. No amount of playing respectability politics by identifying the "real freaks" will ever lead to sexual emancipation or prevent sexual violence. No amount of trying to identify and cast out "oppressors" and "infiltrators" will ever make homophobes and transphobes respect the sanctity of your sexual identity. Not letting people have words and flags and colours is absolutely nothing except a weapon for online harrassment and clout-chasing wielded by white and Western weirdos who've drunk the colonizer Kool-Aid.

Me writing meta about Tom Riddle: *checks the book 3 times for accuracy, extrapolates based on the text, clearly denotes things that are just headcanons not specifically supported by evidence*
Albus Dumbledore writing meta about Tom Riddle: lol yeah idk his vibes were just always rancid. no i don't need to "cite my sources" wtf???

I don't know which new fan of Ghost needs to hear this, but you're not a "fake" or "lesser" fan because you got into the band because of the song Mary on a Cross.

Me: I’m autistic
Person: Are you diagnosed?
Me: Well it’s been confirmed by more than one professional, my old diagnosis was written on paper for my IEP but it’s outdated now (Asp*rger’s), I’ve scored very high on almost every autism test out there, and a lot of my teachers, friends, and some of my family members have suspected it
Person: Okay, but are you diagnosed NOW?
Me: …No?
Person: Then you’re not autistic.

it’s funny that people write remus as this badass who’s almost rolling his own cigarettes and smoking joints in the common room or wtv when that guy gives me the exact vibe as those kids in school/college who would fake cough when walking past someone smoking while making full eye contact.
or, the scared kid who’s terrified of even being near smoker because they were a sickly child and they don’t want their lungs to shrivel and die + they’re terrified of their mom

A-spec gatekeepers are so stupid because like. Your entire identity is showing how complex and nuanced sexuality can be and you’re saying that this specific microlabel isn’t valid? Why? Because you said so? Because sexual trauma doesn’t count? Oh, be quiet, you don’t know jack shit.

fuck this clean girl shit. I wanna be a wreck. Smudged eyeliner, overlined lip stain. Messy hair, choppy bangs, uneven ends. I want to go from listening to Lana to Paramore in the span of like three minutes. I want to smoke and fuck and live my life like its a mess bc it is and I'm not going to live very long.

not all kin are spiritual.
not all kin are connected to past lives.
not all kin have kin memories.
not all kin have phantom shifts.
not all kin have mental shifts.
not all kin have species dysphoria.
we’re all different and that’s ok :)

I'm high so here's another thing
I don't fucking care if you listen to every punk band the earth has to offer, or of you dress like the apocalypse is nigh:
PUNK IS, AT ITS CORE, ABOUT BEING ANGRY AT SYSTEMS IN PLACE THAT HURT PEOPLE! AND TRYING TO LESSEN THAT HURT BY DESTROYING THAT SYSTEM. BY ADDENDUM, HELPING THOSE HURT BY THE SYSTEM IS ONE WAY TO DEFY SAID SYSTEM AND THAT PART SHOULD NOT BE FORGOTTEN.
So if the cishet girl with hottopic and a Taylor swift album is voting in every election she can and you are not, then she is more punk than you are. And by extension, you can't even begin to be punk if you actively try to discourage voting irl or on social media.
Like I won't gatekeep a swifty if they are doing their part in their community and trying to be a kind person, but if you don't care about your fellow human then you aren't punk, you are just an asshole and it wont take long for you to lash out at the people in need. Reminder that conservatives are made, and we are all hurt in some way.
And this isn't to say that punk shouldn't have biting and smashing and all the rage a wronged man can muster, it should, but if all you do is punch homophobes then you end up with very few queer people getting back on their feet enough to protect themselves, or better yet, fight with you.

Just no more gatekeeping. I know it sucks when people pretend to have shit, but most of us don't have a widespread platform where you can spread misinformation willy-nilly, you can block most of those people.
But the further you try to conspiracy theorize about fakers and attention seekers and shit, the more that you hurt the community that you're in.
Most of us have wildly inconsistent and abnormal symptoms, different from a textbook definition. Sometimes we have regular symptoms and abnormal ones. Sometimes we just mask and hide it really well. Sometimes we have outrageous and crazy symptoms that are so strange that you'd think we're making it up.
And that's what some people say. That we're making it up when we're experiencing crazy shit. Or when we're being visible or open about our disabilities or symptoms.
You are hurting us. You are hurting the disabled community by searching for fakers and assuming that people are guilty until proven innocent! No one, and i mean no one, no one has to explain or justify their disability to you, and if you can't handle that, you're fucking ableist.
And sure, there are facts to how some disorders form and exist, and people spreading misinformation is harmful. But we have the power to educate others instead of focusing on gatekeeping resources. We have the power to inform and share and create spaces. We have the power to build a stronger community. Don't go wasting that on infighting and lateral aggression.
Fight against the oppressive system, but mind your own fucking business when you don't full understand someone else's experience. Stay in your goddamn lane.

Hey there!
Being a gatekeeper, or a caretaker or protector is hard and like ton of work!
Remember to take some time to relax, however that may look for you!
Lots of love, Charlie
