AUgust 14 - Chefs
Title: WENN LIEBE IN DIR IST… UND GUTES ESSEN
Fandom: Tanz Der Vampyr
Alfred/Herbert, Graf/Sarah
This is my favourite musical. Straight up. You cannot get better than this. Maybe "Master and Margarita" but I haven't found a good bootleg of it.
I really hope you guys like this one!!!
Oh, there they were again. That damned truck with it's bombastic orchestral music, the catchy paintings, and the obnoxious sign boy. Alfred knew they were doing this on purpose, parking there because they knew how much it pissed off the staff of his own restaurant. Sure, it wasn't really "his" restaurant. It really belonged to Abronsius, the eclectic perfectionist who taught him everything.
And there the sign boy went, platinum hair flowing ever so delicately on the wind. He chatted up anyone that came by, and of course the mesh shirt mixed with the weird cape thing only made the spectacle that much more intriguing.
Alfred must have been glaring for too long because the blond eventually turned and winked straight at him through the window.
Damnit!
His face must have turned red because Abronsius asked him what was wrong, and he quickly made up some excuse about the heat before going back into the kitchen.
"You know," Sarah - the newest pastry chef - whispered, "their food's really good, and the sign dancer guy is single~" she teased.
Alfred felt his face pucker like he'd eaten a lemon.
Yes, the man was attractive, but from what Abronsius had said, they were all bad sorts there. But… well… whatever. Whatever. He had soups to make.
---
Three nights later. They were back. He had the evening off. Fuck. He was pissed. Abronsius had denied him a raise again. He shouldn't have been surprised, but if always stung when he was educated on exactly why he wasn't worth an extra two dollars an hour.
He knew he was young, sure, but he wasn't stupid or incompetent, he didn't have wrong priorities. He wasn't any of the things that stodgy old bastard said. And all he had wanted was two (2) more dollars. It wouldn't have even made him the highest paid (even discounting the profits he knew the old asshole was keeping).
So he wanted to make the man upset. As the sounds of Tchaikovsky drifted towards him, he couldn't help smirking. He hoped Abronsius was watching. Hoped Abronsius saw him ordering off the competition's menu, and he fully planned on eating right outside the restaurant, in full view from the large glass windows.
"Well hello there, finally come to see what all the fuss is about?"
Alfred nearly jumped out of his skin. He hadn't heard anyone approaching, but there he was: the sign guy. Blond haired, pale skinned, and just, umf, fucking beautiful.
Alfred felt his heart rate increase just from the sheer proximity.
"I-I-I, uhm, yeah. Uh, m-mostly, well, I, uh, wanted to p-piss off my boss."
Real smooth, dipshit!
Sarah was right. He was hopeless.
The guy grinned and, of all things, kissed his hand.
"Well, I'm glad you did. I thought I might have to venture into that tacky place to properly say hello."
Alfred honestly didn't disagree. The restaurant was called Knoblauch, which just meant "garlic" and the interior was kind of gaudy. Not that he would have ever dared say so.
"I, uh- wait. You wanted to see me?"
"Every day since I first spotted your adorable pout, yes."
It was effortless the way this guy flirted and Alfred was just getting more and more shy.
"I'm… um… that's sweet. Thanks."
"So did Sarah get you to take a look? She's been very chatty about you, you know."
Ah fuck.
"I, uh, I mean, maybe I guess, but, uh-"
"She says you're a single hopeless romantic, and I really hope she's right," the man interrupted, and whoops, there went Alfred's ability to speak anything but flustered gibberish entirely.
The man leaned down and grinned.
"My name's Herbert von Krolock. What's yours?"
Oh, Alfred knew this man knew, but he couldn't help answering anyway, stuttering it out.
Herbert grinned. "You're so cute! Do you wanna have dinner with me? Now?"
"U-u-uh, um, I mean, uh, I…. Yes…?"
Herbert took his hands (both of them, like this was some kinda romcom), and led him over to the side of the food truck, music playing louder there, and the magnificent frescoes truly visible. They were gothic scenes, dark balls. Alfred couldn't help liking them, for whatever reason.
Then another beautiful man appeared, pale and salt-and-pepper tied in a neat bun.
"Oh, the boy finally came. What shall we have tonight?"
Herbert smiled and nudged Alfred, who realized in a panic he had no idea what kind of food they even sold. The man seemed to take pity on him, luckily.
"Let's start you with a sampler, then. I know it's a wide variety… I'm glad you stopped by. Sarah speaks highly of you," he added with a small smile.
If he survived this Sarah was getting the bougiest fucking brunch ever.
Hebert led him to a small table over to the side to wait.
"You know, Graf is head over heels for her, but he's afraid his age will put her off," the blond murmured conspiratorially.
Alfred couldn't help snorting softly.
"She has a thing for older guys, actually. He should go for it."
Herbert grinned brightly. "I'll try to let him know that…"
Alfred couldn't help smiling. Was it something in the air? Who knew? He just… was having the best night he'd had in a long time.
The food was ready and Herbert got it, stopping only briefly to greet visitors. Alfred was a little surprised, since he always seemed so sociable before, inviting people in.
"What's the look for, hmm?"
Alfred was startled again by the quietness of Herbert's steps.
"O-oh! Nothing, really. Just… you always seem so chatty when…"
"When you spy on me from your little restaurant? I am. But tonight I'm on a date with a very cute guy, and he gets all my attention."
Alfred once again lost all coherence, nibbling at a strawberry to hide his sheepishness.
Herbert just chuckled, and began telling him about the food truck.
Graf (the owner, Mr. Sexy Older Guy) had taught himself to cook after dealing with a very hard childhood, and one day he decided he would take his knowledge out and feed others. He quickly became popular as a caterer at parties, the rich-people kind, like masquerade balls and that kinda thing.
He still did them sometimes. But his true love lay in cooking for the masses, it seemed, out on the street, in parks, at games. He decided to take the Balls and Parties with him.
"That's… really cool," Alfred admitted.
"Yeah? I think so. But we might have to give it up… he's thinking of doing a world tour in his golden years," Herbert began with a wry smirk, "as though he ever plans on retiring… but he wants an apprentice. I'm no good at anything except cold foods and people-pleasing…"
Alfred sighed and shook his head. Just his luck. He found a new favourite place and they were closing.
"I mean, you seem pretty good at what you do…" Herbert added suggestively.
"Wait, wait, what? Me?"
"Yeah. You. You're not the only one that spies from time to time. You seem really passionate about food. And fast. And competent in general."
Everything that Abronsius berated him for not being.
"I… is this all just a ploy? To poach from the competition?" He asked, stiffening. It was one thing to be all flirty and friendly, an entirely other thing to-
"What? No. Of course not! I'm not so shallow I'd do that."
Herbert looked genuinely hurt and offended. Fuck.
"I… I… I'm sorry it's just… I'm pretty often reminded that I'm a young, stupid know-nothing that'll never make it on my own and all…" Alfred muttered bitterly.
"That old hack doesn't know what he's talking about."
Graf's voice came from nowhere, and you know what? Alfred could live in a state of permanent heart-attacks. That was fine.
"What? You know him?"
"That pompous blowhard is the reason I never went to culinary school. Way back when, he made everyone's life hell because it had to be his way or nothing, because he knew how to cook 'properly' and we knew nothing."
"....so I take it he hasn't changed much."
"Nope. Almost ruined food for me. I decided I'd never go through anything that would turn me into a rude monster like that."
"Well, I'm quitting tomorrow, so I don't blame you."
Graf chuckled. "Why bother with that courtesy? Just come work for me. Rub it in his face. Bring the girl too. Take his two best kids from him."
Yeah. That… that sounded good.
"You know what? I think I will. If you'll excuse me, I have a call to make."
He walked over to the other side of the truck, a little ways away, where he could look in and see the kitchen. And there was Sarah, flinching at something the old bastard was saying.
He called her number.
He almost couldn't believe it when she picked up.
"Look outside," he directed. She did, and gave him a wave and a bright smile.
"How do you like it?!”
"So much I'm gonna work here. I quit. You should too. They asked for you by name."
"Say no more."
She hung up, and without further ado completely stripped off her uniform, leaving her in a sports bra and leggings (cause let's be real it got fucking hot in that kitchen sometimes), and she just sauntered on out.
Herbert started laughing, and Alfred turned just in time to see the look on Graf's face as his dulcet darling was strutting over.
"So, you want to give a recently unemployed girl a job?" She asked with a bright smile.
Alfred was glad he wasn't the only one who sometimes forgot how to speak.
Herbert took over, and the pair quickly bantered a deal, and Alfred just took a minute to watch.
They looked good, all together like that. Almost like a family.
Of course, then Herbert glanced up at him, and gave him another of those heart-stopping winks.
Well.
Carpe noctem and all that.

can you tell me abt your wip?
yes! it’s about cracks in the fabric of spacetime and loving your friends!
anyway my answer is yes, yes I can tell you, I have things that I’m capable of saying, sure, sure
I usually like my writeblr experience to be the “I’m just gonna ramble about characters and plot points with no context and if you wanna come along for the ride feel free to jump in whenever!” type more so than the “I am presenting to you a nice neat WIP and I am very careful with my words and I am trying to spark intrigue among future readers” type
so I don’t have any nice neat posts or beautifully worded synopses or detailed character profiles (edit! I do have some of these now!)......... what I have is an all-encompassing “ATDAO” tag that I throw all of my everything into with no rhyme or reason. it’s full of things such as art, brief excerpts, long-winded rambles, and spoilers!
but for now, I will speak to you a series of words, like so:
the story is called All The Doors Are Open!
it’s YA! sci-fi-ish! fantasy-ish! comedy-ish! I’m real bad at genres! it’s something I’d describe as “our reality but a little to the left”, though it gets progressively weirder and weirder as it goes on
it’s set in South Australia, n it’s set in a world where the fabric of reality is starting to unravel at the edges and cracks in the universe called “Ports” are cropping up..... n these cracks are letting in all sorts of whacked out energy, fuckin with physics, causing weird phenomena.......... basically reality’s comin' apart slowly but surely and everyone’s just sorta like “ah geez” about it but like. what can ya do. it’s not like all your normal people problems are gonna go away just ‘cuz the world is edging towards its inevitable weird doom
so people are just kinda going about their lives against this bizarre apocalyptic backdrop and hoping they don't, like, glitch through the sidewalk on their way to the supermarket
the story is about several people, and four of these people are:
Tris, panic attack in human form, who has just been the sole witness to a freak car accident that somehow caused his older brother to vanish from this plane of existence entirely
Noa, edgy intimidating badass, definitely hiding no insecurities or trauma at all whatsoever, who has just had a weird run-in with a Port and is discovering that she can now bend the reality around her
Shara, socially anxious paranormal investigator & conspiracy enthusiast, hunting the answers to and meaning of three strange events from her past in the hopes that they will lead her to the source of the apocalypse
and Kai, nonbinary force of chaos, struggling to deal with the emotional repercussions of losing seven years of their life to a time loop and the fact that their family thinks they died
and it’s mostly just about these guys trying to deal with the weird apocalyptic garbage happening to them alongside their everyday lives, and about how all their individual odd little mysteries connect with each other and form a bigger, odder mystery
here are some things about it that I like, and that you might like, but I don’t know you, so who knows:
the story is equal parts “absolute nonsense hijinks and ridiculousness that doesn’t take itself too seriously” and “oh fuck oh ouch oh no my heart”
every single main character ends up safe and happy and in a much, much, much better place than they started
there’s several mentally ill heroes, including one with psychosis and one with a dissociative disorder, whose mental illness/es aren’t ever used as a cheap plot twist or to go “OHOHO NONE OF IT WAS EVER REAL IT WAS ALL JUST IN THEIR HEAD THE WHOLE TIME HAHA GOTCHA” because ew
it’s full of weird glitchy unreality nonsense and general atmospheric weirdness, and I get to do lots of sick kickflips with words about it
there’s one cat named Leonardo DiCatrio and another named Ms Frizzle, and some scenes where various members of the gang get to hang out with a bunch of extremely excited huskies, so that’s nice
I’m forgetting what I’ve already mentioned
and what's important to mention
I’m going to end this list
oh!
all the themes are incredibly cheesy, such as self love, friendship, the goodness of humanity, the power of kindness and connection, believing in yourself, etc........ just some real good high quality cheese
somewhere in the recesses of the ATDAO tag there are character profiles, a plot explanation and also a comic sans powerpoint presentation in which I talk about it all in more detail, but it’s all very wordy, and some of it is outdated, you can go take a look if you like, I won’t link it here because I'm lazy, it will just be a fun quest you can go on should you so choose, I can provide a map and some snacks for the journey
also please note that my rambling text posts with horrid grammar are not indicative of my writing abilities when actually Writing A Novel
ur not getting nice prim proper articulate logan today, ur getting. well. me. hello
anyway that’s all I can say 4 now, thanks for the ask, love u, goodnight

Once in Rockfield Farm (1/5)
Tumblr media
summary; you own Rockfield Farm and your bf Mary Austin asks you if you can help her friends with an enormous favour that will lead to a much bigger unprecedented change into your life. Thanks to a cute guy specifically.
word count; 6 126
disclaimers, PLEASE read them; don’t forget this is fiction. i’m using queen‘s 70s era as a base for the story but it won’t be historically accurate. the song mentioned towards the end of the chapter is from Taylor Swift, i don’t claim those lyrics as mine. sorry in advance if u find a f*cked up grammar mistake or whatever. feedback would mean everything, it’s the first time i’m posting something i’ve written it feels like i’m giving birth looool
warnings; minor violence at some point and mention of abuse
********
Mary didn’t stop until she convinced you to give green light to her proposal.
She called it like that, but it seemed more like an order. Both of you knew she wouldn’t let it pass until you agreed to.
Taken aback, you refused at first.
The idea of four strangers living in your house, coexisting with you in the only safe space you knew, wasn’t appealing whatsoever.
Even though all they needed was a studio to record, they’d have to stay until the album was finished. They could afford to rent a proper one, but Mary made it quite clear that getting out of town was crucial to avoid possible distractions.
You’d been fired from your job because the restaurant bankrupted, so the money they were going to pay for rent was welcomed.
Your grandfather passed Rockfield Farm on to you when he died.
It was a lovely place full of good memories, mainly concerning hours on end together in the studio he built in the attic throughout the years. The relationship you had with him had always been special, but ever since your nana passed away at the age of 70, your bond became stronger.
He also wasn’t there anymore, and you tried not to think too much about it, just were glad that you met someone like him. He was the main reason you loved making music so much.
Sadly, as you grew up, although your talent for writing songs and producing music was undeniable, you realized you needed to be realistic and pursue a more down-to-earth career.
Medicine was another thing you were slightly attracted to, it wasn’t your passion but it would have to do.
The music business was too complex and difficult to get in, and wasting your time wasn’t on your plans. It’s not like you were a prodigy or a diamond in the rough, anyway. That was your honest opinion.
But now and then you’d succumb and compose. It was an effective way to forget about the rest of the world and vent whenever something would make you sad, grumpy, anxious, angry… Rarely did you write about happy feelings.
What’s the fun in claiming how fulfilled you are with your life? Which you weren’t, but still.
Ballads and songs that’d leave you with your heart aching on the floor were your daily bread.
Mary was the only one allowed to hear your little creations. She’d try to get you to show them to the world, to step out of the comfort zone and perform them in public, to rush out of those same four walls.
You were quick to brush her comments off every time, content with her and your dog being the only ones to get to listen to your babies.
“How long they’re going to take?” you asked using a fake uninterested tone, pretending not to care whether they needed weeks, months or a year.
The truth was that you wished for the album to be done quite fast.
“Who knows,” Mary said. “When the album’s finished I’m the first to know, but in the meantime Freddie won’t give me any clues”
You nodded, unsatisfied with the answer.
“Thanks for agreeing to this. I owe you big” her eyes found yours and yours softened.
“If anything it’s them who do, don’t you think?”
Mary grinned and offered to cook something for tonight’s dinner.
She left you alone with your molecular pathology notes resting on your lap.
It was your last year in University, thank the Lord. One last effort and you would be a doctor.
After memorizing various concepts you found yourself staring at the horizon wondering how was Freddie Mercury like.
Obviously because of Mary you sort of formed this idea of him, but hadn’t had a face to face yet. About the other Queen members… yeah, Mary mentioned them sometimes, vaguely: she described John as a nice fella to have around, Brian as the only one with common sense, and last but not least, when it came to Roger’s personality, she told you hesitantly to judge him yourself.
You thanked her when she handed you the pen you forgot inside.
Mary gave you an encouraging smile, placing her hand on your shoulder and squeezing it.
As soon as she turned around to go back inside, you called her name, squinting your eyes to try and get a better sight of the vehicle that kept getting closer to your property.
“What?”
When she spotted the van she sighed happily.
“Finally”
Mary ran to wait for them in the parking area. She was over the moon, clapping and waving effusively to welcome them.
“Are you coming or not?” Mary shouted, gesturing you to go and stand next to her.
You took your time to get up from sitting upon the grass and do just that.
Not a single second since they pulled over went by and Mary was already imprisoning Freddie in her arms.
You chuckled, completely sure he would be dead in a matter of seconds if she wouldn’t loose her grip.
He lovingly wrapped her in his and stroked her hair.
All of a sudden, running from the backyard where he usually played in the mud (this time was no different), your dog appeared on scene. You asked him to remain quiet and by your side, which to your dismay he did not obey.
He went and greeted Queen, who pushed him away with no bad intentions, they just didn’t want to get dirt on their trousers.
John, nevertheless, got on his knees and began patting him. It did not take long for him to regret it when Sherlock seemed to be captivated by his face, licking it non-stop.
You cleared your throat. It would be nice of Mary to introduce you, being the one who organized this whole of a mess in the first place.
Apparently she read your mind. The next thing she did was link arms with you.
“This is (Y/N)” she spoke. “Freddie, come here”
“You have no idea how happy I am to finally meet you”
Freddie gave you two sweet kisses, one on each cheek.
“Same here” you nodded and mirrored his smile when you saw it reached his eyes.
In a heartbeat you were fascinated by him.
There was this intriguing strong aura he projected that made you feel like you were in the presence of someone from the royalty, someone important.
Freddie examined you from head to toe and fell in love immediately with your outfit, a pastel blue dress with tiny sunflowers printed all over it. He did spot your exposed feet and smiled pleasedly at your choice of painting your toenails with the colours of the rainbow.
“Boys, don’t be rude and come say hi” he gestured his bandmates, who were taking a rapid glimpse of their new temporary home, and stepped aside.
“Nice to meet you, I’m Brian”
“Nice to meet you too” you kindly responded, shaking his hand.
“Thank you very much for allowing us to record our album here. If we win a Grammy expect you to be the first one we address in the speech” he joked, face beaming with a heavenly smile.
Damn, you were so soft for him already. And you wanted to touch his curls.
“You’re welcome, Brian”
“Yes, we’re endlessly grateful” another gentle voice joined the conversation.
John stood now in front of you.
“Hi, I’m John Deacon”
“I know” you laughed, tilting your head to the side. “I hope your stay here is… productive”
“I hope so too” he smiled big, and it made your heart melt. He was so cute.
Roger was next.
He was wearing a black leather jacket that fit him like a glove. One silver bracelet hugging his right wrist, matching the necklace around the neck. What caught your attention the most was the glittery rosy shoes, though. He had long blond messy hair (like the others, except the colour part), and prominent sideburns.
They looked ridiculous, you thought, although every second you spent contemplating his face the less they bothered you.
He was gorgeous, what the hell?
You got somehow a little nervous.
“Productive it shall be. I’m Roger” he spoke, referring your words from before. He took your hand and held it to his lips. “We’ve come to the right place, guys. With such a pretty face like hers we’ll never run out of inspiration” he snorted when he heard John face-palming himself.
You raised an eyebrow, unimpressed.
Sure Roger didn’t mean that at all, it was just his constant flirty mood Mary warned you about taking over him, you reasoned.
“Don’t get it started, Rog. We don’t want her to kick us out the very first day” Brian scolded him like a father would his children.
Roger laughed, his silly expression never fading away, and soon he was again observing you.
“I was joking, I’m sorry if it made you uncomfortable,” he said, taking some of the heat out.
“It didn’t,” you said back, confident.
You followed the others when they headed to the house carrying their respective suitcases with Mary as the leader.
Roger was fast to grab his and catch up with you.
“You live alone?”
“I have Sherlock”
He was still in ecstasy, trying to get everyone’s attention.
“That’s it?”
“That’s it” you shrugged. “It’s not as tragic as it sounds. I enjoy my own company”
“Oh. Anyway. This is a farm, right? You do all the, huh… you know, farm work on your own?” he looked around, scanning a bit the surroundings. He pointed with his chin at one big rooster. “The guardian of the house, eh?”
You let out a vague chuckle that made Roger proud, already eager to make you like him.
The reason was obvious: you were so eyecatching he almost tripped when he missed one of Sherlock’s toys on one of the porch steps, too engrossed in how the sun made the freckles in your face stand out.
“My grandfather baptized this piece of land as Rockfield Farm, but it hasn’t been a proper farm for years. Now it’s just… my house”
“You know,” he began, digging deep around his mind to come up with something so the conversation wouldn’t end, “years ago I had this summer job in a much more immense place than this. I had to watch over 200 sheep every day”
“Was it as entertaining as it sounds?”
“Clearly not”
Roger extended his hand to stop the door from closing after John came in. He motioned you to go first and winked, but you didn’t notice the last part, which slightly bothered him.
“(Y/N), this place is precious!” you heard Freddie praise.
Mary interrupted you before you could thank him.
“Then you sure are going to love the studio even more! C’mon”
//
“How did your grandfather manage to get this studio together? It’s pretty impressive” Brian enthusiastically asked, taking a small sip of tea.
The six of you were now chilling in the living room. It was the perfect time for them to rest since the road trip had been long.
Moments before they finished unpacking and settling down, Mary and you gossiped in the kitchen. She remarked how attentive Roger acted towards you, and asked if you were into him.
“Are you stupid?” you couldn’t believe her. “We’ve known each other for what, ten minutes?”
“I was just wondering whether there was desire at first sight or something”
“Desire at first sight?” you repeated slowly, taking in every word.
“It was a softer way to ask if you’d give him a ride or not” she laughed watching you gesture her to lower it down. “I’m just asking because I can tell he would”
Before answering Brian, you looked over at Roger.
He’d taken off his jacket and was rolling up the sleeves of the white tee he wore underneath.
Your lips parted, finding that mundane action quite amusing and sexy on him.
You looked away, guilt taking over you for having stared too keenly. There was nothing wrong about it, and you couldn’t explain why you felt agitated. Maybe you were self-conscious about whether the others noticed.
Forcing yourself to remember Brian’s words and with a sense of pride, you smirked behind your cup, gazing at the wooden floor.
Your grandfather poured his soul into this studio, which he also referred to as a sanctuary. It made you happy to hear Brian acknowledging its value.
There were several electric and acoustic guitars, a generous collection of microphones your grandmother enjoyed saving, two trumpets, a synthesizer -to which Freddie and Roger scoffed loudly at-, a drumkit, one saxophone, and a bass.
Not to mention the tape machine that still worked perfectly plus the recording booth.
Mary told you that John Reid, who was looking after Queen at the moment, managed to convince the label to provide them with a significant amount of money. You assumed they’d brought enough tapes to record on, therefore yours would remain intact.
“He bought half of the instruments”
“The other half?” John inquired.
“He stole them” you answered, not much of a fan about it.
“Whew!” Roger whistled.
You took a short sip of the tea and turned slightly towards the window, presencing a flash of light.
“A piano?”
Freddie dropped the question with no high hopes.
“Pardon?” you turned your head and looked at him over your shoulder with your body still facing towards the window.
The head movement was so fast that a clip you wore to hold a fraction of hair in place loosened a bit, letting the lock to fell down your face.
Roger stared at you in awe.
The light illuminating the room had a warm cosy tone, which surely helped to make your skin look softer and smooth. He wasn’t aware of the heart eyes he was giving you, but Brian, John and Mary were.
When you batted your lashes, he looked away and saw Brian try and fail to hide a smile when they locked eyes. He’d been caught.
“Do you have a piano?” Freddie questioned again, eyebrows raised a little.
A tiny playful smile made its way to your lips.
“Of course I have a piano” you cockily answered.
When you saw Fred’s satisfied grin appear you instantly knew he liked you as much as you liked him. It wasn’t in the attic; you’d show it to him later.
To be honest, the piano was your favourite instrument to play. So delicate, so powerful and majestic.
“Excuse me for a second” you got up from your seat, everyone confused by your sudden urge to leave, but not alarmed.
That light from before wasn’t a bolt of lightning, you came to realize, it was a car that parked outside.
A little voice popped in your head guessing it could be him, but it couldn’t… right? There were approximately two hours from Cardiff to get there.
It sure was someone lost, or maybe they were stopping by to beg to use your bathroom because they couldn’t hold it in anymore. It wouldn’t be the first time.
“How about we start dinner? I’m starving” Mary added.
Their voices kept getting lower and lower as you crossed the corridor, oblivious to Roger’s eyes following your every move.
You stepped outside and closed the heavy door behind you, but not completely.
The silhouette of the last person you’d want to see in the entire world was leaning against a red car, one you did know very well because you lost your virginity in the backseat. He was humming to a tune you didn’t recognize, head facing downwards.
Picking at the fabric of the sweater you put on to forbid the cool air of the night from touching your skin, you opened your mouth.
“Leonardo!” you whisper shouted.
He definitely heard you, although he turned a deaf ear.
“Leo, what the fuck!”
“You’re a stupid whore”
Shit. He’s drunk? You prayed he wouldn’t make a scene, not now, with Mary and the guys around. The shame to have them complicit of whatever could possibly happen would be unbearable.
“You’re miserable” he went on with his speech, voice thick, which made it difficult for you to understand him.
You called it quits three months ago. Apparently he wasn’t any close to getting over the fact you ended it.
“Leave”
After what felt forever, he abruptly raised his head.
“What?” the expression on his face revealed he wasn’t happy.
What his eyes showed freaked the hell out of you: they revealed an intense desire, either with words or physically, to hurt you. He wasn’t sober, and you were aware that he had struggled with alcoholism when he was a teenager. It was fair to say Leonardo never put a finger on you in that way before, but alcohol was the push he needed to do it and his body was full of it now.
A lump formed in your throat.
“Get out of here”
“I just want to talk” lifting his hands up in an attempt to seem harmless, losing balance doing so, he took a few steps forward trying his best to sound convincing so you wouldn’t move and listen to him.
“I don’t want to hear what you have to say”
“How do you think I felt? Huh? When I saw you making out with that moron? You’re so selfish. A fucking slut, (Y/N). You disgust me”
That was the final straw. You promised you wouldn’t give in and start an argument, but he fucking did have to bring that up. He had the nerve to blame you for moving on and having some fun with a guy a few days ago at a party.
“Are you serious right now, Leo? How dare you?! We’re not together!” funny enough, this time it was you walking up to him not giving a damn anymore about the consequences.
When you raised your fist to punch him, even in his state, he managed to catch your wrist on time.
“How wrong you’ve done me” he hissed, tightening the grip. That’d leave marks for sure.
He pushed you against the car, causing your back to crack roughly. The situation was so tense not even the tears were brave to roll down your face, your vision blurry and unclear.
“Please, Leo!”
Mary’s voice never felt so good in your ears.
You totally forgot about them, that you could’ve screamed for help instead of dealing with Leo on your own, too absorbed in rage to be able to think things through.
“Do something, help her!” she pleaded the boys.
Four arms were fast to catch him and throw him to the ground.
Everything was happening so fast, almost as fast as your crazy heartbeats.
Brian came to you and held you by the shoulders, checking you out entirely, looking for bruises. He was asking repeatedly if you were alright, if that man dared to touch you. You could hear him, but it felt like he were miles away from you, his words echoing in the back of your mind.
Mary grabbed your arm and the two guided you, treating you like you had some kind of disability.
Before letting them drag you inside, you quickly turned your head to see what was going on, and saw a fuming Roger threatening Leo to disappear and never come back.
Freddie and John remained behind him in case he’d lose his temper. They looked at each other in astonishment; it was the first time they saw Roger like that.
“(Y/N)” Mary called you, once in the common room. “Fancy a glass of water?”
“I’ll be right back with it,” Brian said, his long legs taking him to the kitchen.
“Sit down, babe”
“I don’t want to. I’m fine”
She could perfectly see the tension in your shoulders.
“You’re not. But it’s fine, it’ll be fine” she sympathized, caressing your hair.
At this point you were lost for words. You were confused, angry, stunned.
“Here, take it. It’ll do you good, (Y/N). Is there anything else you n—” Brian began, offering you freshwater to maybe comfort you and make the knot you felt in your throat go away.
“For fuck’s sake!” you felt choleric. Maybe you were about to pass out.
Freddie, John and Roger came in and stopped dead in their tracks when they heard you complain.
Brian blinked a few times.
You were desperate for some time alone to process the last couple of minutes, but that wasn’t any excuse for you to take it out on Brian when all he wanted was for you to get better.
“I’m sorry” you lamented, ashamed at your behaviour, and took the glass not looking at anyone in the eye. That’s when you saw you were indeed shaking a little bit.
He smiled comprehensively, not giving too much attention to your outburst.
“Who the fuck was that?” Freddie wondered.
John elbowed him and mouthed “not now”.
“I’m so embarrassed. I’m sorry you had to witness that” you sighed, choking back the agony.
“Don’t apologize. That piece of shit shouldn’t have treated you like that. He looked mad” Freddie condemned.
Another heavy sigh escaped your mouth when you saw everyone staring intently at you, hating the feeling of their unasked pity.
Roger hadn’t said a word. His muscles were tense, mind way too far from the scene recalling something from the past.
//
It’d been several weeks since Queen came to stay.
To your surprise you had no complaints. They helped you without hesitation with the housework and kept their rooms tidy. More or less. The only thing you could protest about was that after the sessions it seemed like the studio had been the target of a fateful hurricane.
However, they were too cute to stay mad at for more than ten seconds.
Coming out of your shell was easy because of them. It didn’t take you long to feel comfortable enough to show your true self instead of hiding in your room like you did the first three days.
Reading a book easily kept your mind busy, except now; it was unbearably hot outdoors and indoors. Without taking your eyes off the page, you held the Coca-Cola can against your neck seeking a refreshing sensation.
“Mind if I join?”
You lowered the sunglasses until they were fitted a little bit below the bridge of your nose. The sun was hiding behind a cloud now, making it easier to adjust your vision and get it focused on whoever that was.
A shirtless Roger stood before you, with a towel around his neck that he rushed to spread on the hammock next to yours.
His skin glowing due to the sweat made him look rather tempting.
Your brain lent a helping hand forcing you to smile and nod because you wouldn’t, couldn’t do that yourself.
A small grin tugged at his lips when he noticed your eyes on him longer than usual.
“You’re always studying, angel” he pointed out, lying down and crossing his arms above his head.
You let out a loud sigh you’d been holding in, cheeks red at the pet name he chose. Anytime he’d call you something sweet rather than by your name, it was always how you tended to react.
There was no denying that you’d sort of developed a small crush on him.
Nobody could blame you, though; the same thing would happen to any human being with feelings.
He always treated you as one of them, making sure you didn’t feel left out. His sense of humour was similar to yours, and you appreciated it when he included you in their plans even if he knew you were occupied with Uni and probably wouldn’t be able to join.
Also, he was hot as fuck. You swore you’d never seen a man so beautiful in your life so far.
“I have to if I want to pass my exams”
“Sure, but you’re always studying” he emphasized. “It cannot be healthy”
It couldn’t, but everything was so difficult and you were so lost at some points you thought the world as you knew it could end if you took the smallest break.
“(Y/N)”
“Tell me”
“Seeing you stressed out stresses me” he sat straight, took the book from you and shoved it away. “Fuck this. I suggest you have some fun before the pressure ages you”
“And what do you recommend, ay?” you questioned, crossing your arms across your chest.
“We could play Frisbee”
“Frisbee? Really?”
“Why not? I’m sure you’re not that bad” he teased, getting to his feet.
You faked a laugh and stood up.
“Don’t underestimate my skills”
He used his hand to mimic a mouth talking nonsense, and approached the pool since the frisbee was floating in the water. But he stopped when he felt he stepped on something, proceeding to lift his foot to see what it was.
Roger knelt down and picked a piece of paper up, which said in messy handwriting together with scribbles here and there: You tell me ‘bout your past, thinking your future was me.
His brows cocked in surprise and your eyes widened. You grabbed it out of his hand and held it close to your heart reflexively, as if protecting it. It must have flown out from within the pages of the book when he first threw it away.
Roger watched you curiously, crouched down still, as you breathed slow and deep avoiding eye contact. You could feel your face getting hotter.
He got up with an unnoticeable smile.
“That’s yours? It’s decent”
You waited for something to get out of your mouth, but this time your brain didn’t find a way to help you out, speechless at the fact that he liked it.
“Do you have more? I’d love to hear” he continued, glancing at you.
“Oh, n-no” you forced a laughter. “I don’t”
“I’m glad you’re not as bad as a lyricist as you are as a liar”
You gave him a dirty look and the corners of his eyes crinkled at that. He puppy-eyed you.
“Please?”
“No, Roger”
“We don’t protest when you’re in our recording sessions, you could return the favour”
“Excuse me? You’re in my goddamn house. Watch your tone”
He giggled, fascinated by how cute you turned out to be when poked at.
“What do I have to do for you to say yes?”
“Nothing. It’s not happening”
“(Y/N)!” he pleaded. “I want to hear you sing”
You shook your head.
“And I want to own all the dogs on the planet. Guess we’re both stuck”
Roger groaned in defeat and turned around to get his hands on the frisbee.
For some odd reason, it made your heart dance in your chest knowing he was willing to sit down with you and listen.
A sense of enthusiasm and confidence moved you and shockingly enough you found yourself considering the idea.
Roger gave you a quick head nod.
“Ready?”
You didn’t know what the hell you were doing but you whispered a small “okay”. It couldn’t be that bad, right?
“Take a few steps back first, you’re too close”
You pulled a face at him but quickly shook your head.
“I said I’ll do it”
Roger wasn’t getting it.
“Do w—“ he stopped mid-sentence, his sapphire eyes widening in understanding this wasn’t about playing Frisbee anymore. “Yes!” he took you in his arms and spun you around.
Since he was shirtless you could feel how well built he was. Although he wasn’t the most athletic man out there, apparently drumming on and on was enough to keep him fit.
“Rog, Rog! Enough! I’m feeling dizzy”
You were wearing a mini skirt that had a tiny slit on one of the sides. Seeing it rolled itself up a little you adjusted its length, avoiding any extra space to anyone’s imagination. Too late for Roger though.
When satisfied with how your skirt fitted, you looked up and saw a subtle wink roaming his lips.
“I’m ready when you are” he announced, bending over to grab his shirt and put it on.
At first your legs wouldn’t cooperate.
Roger followed you closely.
He saw you toy with your hair, questioning yourself why you agreed to do this when you weren’t a hundred per cent sure about it. He placed his hands on your shoulders and slowly massaged the back of your neck with his thumbs, relieving some of the pressure.
Every single hair of your body stood on ends.
“Don’t be nervous, love. We can drop it whenever you want” he conceded, tossing an arm around your shoulders.
Opening the door to the studio you felt sick, already regretting your decision.
Roger took a sit on the couch, watching you like you were about to do a mind-blowing performance that’d change the meaning of his life forever.
Feeling like a rat in a laboratory with the doctors waiting to see if the experiment was successful or not, you shifted weight from one foot to the other, discomfort intensifying.
The piercing electric blue of his eyes triggered something in you when they met yours. You didn’t know how but it seemed like he was speaking to you through them, encouraging and imploring you to open up to him.
“Take it easy, (Y/N). It’s not a big deal”
“It is for me”
You sank down on one of the chairs next to the control room, poorly trying to hide how intimidated you were.
“You’re singing, then? Or reading the lyrics out loud?”
“Singing” you muttered. God knows if you went downstairs to pick up your notebook you wouldn’t come back.
A very cheeky expression overtook his face.
“Okay, go ahead” he gestured, rubbing his chin.
You clenched your jaw and snapped your eyes shut. It was easier to do it if you weren’t looking. You’d just imagine it was your grandfather in the room with you instead.
“Time won’t fly, it’s like I’m paralyzed by it I’d like to be my old self again But I’m still trying to find it
After plaid shirt days and nights when you made me your own Now you mail back my things and I walk home alone”
Roger’s fingers fidgeted at the sight of you tucking a piece of hair behind your ear, silently wishing it was him doing it.
He saw how your angelic features relaxed along to every word you sang. When it comes to your voice... He had to remind himself he didn’t die nor was leaving a dream, because it felt like he were in the very gates of heaven.
His breathing quickened, well aware he was witnessing something intimate.
Leaning closer, elbows resting on his knees, he allowed your voice to transport him to the place and time you were describing.
“But you keep my old scarf From that very first week 'Cause it reminds you of innocence And it smells like me You can’t get rid of it
'Cause you remember it all too well”
You swallowed before opening your eyes and speaking.
“There’s more but that’s the part I’m most proud of”
Roger’d fallen silent, his brain on fire.
He seemed to be absent, daydreaming probably.
Your heartbeat could make you go deaf any second, partly because you allowed him to have a peek at your heart partly because you were dying to know if he was any positive about it.
“You sounded like an angel” he stated in the softest voice, working on coming back to his senses.
There was nothing you could do apart from blushing and awkwardly shaking your head, yet on the inside you were saturated with a strong feeling that filled you completely: his opinion was relevant to you and the reaction he had was more than enough.
“You’re exaggerating. Thank you though, for your words. You’re very kind” you said, entwining ankles.
“Is it…” Roger was afraid this would ruin the mood. He decided to give it a shot and solve any doubt. More importantly, he wanted to make sure you were alright.
You weren’t stupid and knew where he was going.
“About Leonardo? Yes. Next question” you explained bitterly cutting him off, and pressed your lips together making an effort to not roll your eyes and appear rude.
He did ruin the mood.
Roger felt bad now.
“I’m sorry. Forget it”
“It’s fine” the flat tone you used before switched to a more delicate one.
It was overwhelming that he cared. He didn’t have to but he cared.
“I experienced something similar. I know how fucked up domestic abuse is” Roger confessed, bowing his head.
Wait, what? He what?
“Rog…” you got up and carefully sat next to him.
It shocked you how quick the atmosphere changed.
“It’s nothing, dear, it was a long time ago. She was… she was crazy” he laughed drily and cleared his throat. “You know what I mean”
“I do not. What you saw when Leonardo showed up was a one-time thing. He was drunk and barely himself, but I’m so terribly sorry you had to go through that”
“Ah, good for you then” he tapped you on the knee with a small smile on his face.
It broke your heart. How could anyone be so goddamn evil? You just couldn’t understand why they were people like that out there, willing to harm others deliberately.
Your mind drifted to Leonardo, did he become one of them?
Glancing at Roger, you hesitantly got closer to rest your cheek against his shoulder, letting him know mutely you were there in case he needed to vent more often. You intended to cuddle for just a few seconds before it turned out weird. That was until he wrapped an arm around you to keep you in position.
“Thank you” he whispered.
It sent shivers down your spine hearing for the first time his voice discreetly cracking up. You weren’t entirely sure about what he was thanking you for, though.
Roger didn’t quite understand why such information slipped out his mouth. Maybe he thought it was appropriate to share it since he contemplated you went through the same thing after what he saw. He just wanted to make sure you knew you could count on him as well.
The boys knew about the matter, obviously, but there was this thing about you he hadn’t figured out just yet that pushed him to speak to you about it.
That’s what his mind was saying, his heart on the other hand defended the idea that he felt comfortable with you and that since he presenced the incident with Leonardo he remembered his experience. Hence the fit of anger he had.
The thought alone of that scumbag hurting you made his head collapse. He was very sensitive about the subject.
“Better?” you wondered out loud after a while of snuggling, yet you didn’t move, finding the proximity significantly pleasant.
“Yeah, uh, sorry” he cleared his throat and released you.
“It’s more than okay”
He nodded, not really looking at you yet.
You tried to think of something that could distract him from those undeserved and heartrending memories.
There was no point of comparison to what Roger had struggled with, but every time you argued with Leo during the year your relationship lasted, you were grateful that your friends organized sporadic plans to help you forget about the fights.
You had to do that for Roger. You had to entertain him. To keep his mind occupied.
“Freddie explained to me drums are much more complicated than what they seem”
Roger glanced over the drumkit.
He was suspicious at first about the topic change, and looked at you from the corner of his eye.
“It can be very ambitious if you don’t do try for real, instead of goofing around. There’s too much going on. People believe it’s just hitting the drums and you’re good. Wankers”
It was unmissable how his face lit up, talking about his passion.
Crossing an ankle over your knee, you bent forward to get a better sight of his much more eased features.
“I’m sure it requires a lot of hard work, the coordination on hands and feet and all that stuff. Singing along as well must be tiring”
Roger’s eyes bored into yours, as if studying and reflecting upon your words. A corner of his mouth lifted.
“Yeah,” he replied amused, “physically it can be tough”
He knew what you were doing.
Just when he was about to ask you if you wanted him to teach you some basics, John came flying through the door.
“For God’s sake, there you are. Roger, I need you. Freddie and Brian are arguing again. Help me out spreading some peace before Freddie slaps him”

“Mr. Stark, thank you so much for bringing me in on this, I won’t let you down, I promise you won’t regret this-”
“Yeah, yeah kid, whatever, listen, this is the most important mission I have ever put you on, okay, so don’t get too cocky. Keep your head straight and keep your eye on the prize.”
Peter gulped, taking a deep breath as he trailed behind Tony eagerly. Ever since his help in defeating Thanos, Tony’s been putting a lot more faith in him, and to say it’s been amazing would be an understatement. Today, he’d called him in for a new mission- the third major one thus far. He wasn’t a full Avenger quite yet, he was still living with his aunt May,  ‘staying on the ground’, as he put it. However, each time Peter’s phone flashed the name of Happy Hogan or Tony Stark, he found himself practically jumping from his chair to answer it and fling himself into whatever battle was asked of him.
Which brings us to today.
“Alright,  through these  doors is the thing most important to me, my most prized creation, the one thing that matters most to me in the entire world- you’re most crucial mission.”
Peters' eyes went wide as Tony stretched out a hand, pushing open the double doors, a combination of excitement and fear fighting for dominance in the pit of his stomach.
To his surprise, however, all he was met with was what looked like a classic New York studio apartment- a little out of place in the modern, high tech, Avengers compound, but not otherwise significant.
He was quickly greeted by what felt like a hoard of animals- two gigantic Doberman pinschers came bounding forward, jumping upwards and attempting to lick at his face.
“Whoa- wha-?” he smiled, laughing a bit as they sniffed him up and down, awkwardly petting them in return as they nearly pushed him over.
“Hey, down boys! Down- down. Jesus, I am so sorry,”
Suddenly, the dogs were off of him, and Peter chuckled, closing his eyes and wiping the slobber from his face as he responded to the unfamiliar voice.
“It's cool! I love do-” halfway through his sentence, he opened his eyes, only to be halted in his tracks by the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. He’d know your face anywhere- anyone would- you were Y/N Stark. But like most people, he’d never had the pleasure of seeing you in person- and god was it certainly a pleasure.
“-w-whoa-” he breathed out, and Tony turned, giving him a searing look, but neither of you seemed to notice as you ushered away your pets, and Peter watched every movement. You laughed, soft and sweet in his ears, unlike anything he’d ever heard before.
“Well that’s good, but who doesn’t, I guess? I mean, if anything I’d take it as a compliment that they like you so much, they’re very picky.”
  “Huh… yeah…”
Peter seemed to be in a daze like he had been staring at the sun for too long and suddenly his vision had gone blurry. Tony glanced between the two of you, tapping his foot impatiently.
“Anyways…” he interjected, and you turned to face the both of them, “so, Y/N, this is my new intern, also known as the ‘Spider-Man’” he waved his hands in a dramatic arching motion, emphasizing the name teasingly. In any other circumstance, Peter would have objected- ‘it’s just- just Spider-Man. Not the-‘ and no doubt he’d be muttering something about the dramatic speaking of his name, but today, that all just passed him by. Instead, he found his focus unyieldingly centered on you.
“Well, it’s nice to meet you Spider-Man. Tell me, does Spider-Man have a regular name? Or have you just been climbing up buildings and swinging through New York since birth?”
Peters' eyes widened, snapping from his gaze realizing that the sweet sounds coming from your lips were directed at him.
  “Oh, uh, yeah, yes. I’m Peter-man- I mean Spider-Parker- shit- I mean-“
You laughed, a sugary sound that dripped through the air like warm honey, making Peter feel as though he didn’t care if he was making a complete fool of himself if it meant he could hear that sound again.
“Nice to meet you, Peter-man Spider-Parker. I’m Y/N Stark. Sorry, I don’t have a cool superhero name like you to insert between my boring person name,” you joked, and Peter found himself chuckling at you- the thought of having the last name ‘Stark’ and feeling anything but super practically baffling him. “And you’ve already met the dogs-” you turned, nodding your head towards the two, giant animals lying on the sofa behind you. “-Sirius and Remus.”
Peters' eyes lit up, crinkling a bit at the corners as his lips fell into a lopsided smile.
“You named your dog after the Marauders?”
  You snickered, nodding.
“Well, half of them. But yes, I did. You read Harry Potter?” you inquire, and suddenly Tony feels as though you’ve forgotten he’s there.
“Do I read Harry Pott- uh, yeah.” He said, incredulous. “Do you breathe air?”
You giggled, and a grin spread across his face for making you laugh
“Of course. It was a stupid question, what house are you?”
“Hufflepuff! And my wand is 13 inches with unicorn hair core, what about yo-”
“Alright, as… magical, as this conversation is, you and I have got some talking to do about your newest mission,” Tony raised his eyebrows at Peter, and he understood. “I just thought you two should meet. Sorry for the interruption, princess. How’s the project coming?”
“Good. It’s definitely gonna need some more work- I just can’t get the background colors  right for some reason.”
You frown, frustrated, and it’s at this moment that Peter registers your paint smattered shorts and oversized hoodie- the Stark Industries logo smeared with bright blue paint, splotches of varying colors splattered all across both its fabric and your skin. He’d been so taken aback by you that he’d nearly gotten tunnel vision, barely registering anything else.
“Well, don’t worry kiddo, you’ll figure it out, you always do. I’m sure it’ll be beautiful.” He reached out, ruffling your hair a bit, your bun flopping from side to side. You scrunched up your face, half-annoyed, half-endeared, giggling.
“Well, we’ll leave you to it. Parker?” he turned, pointing towards the doors they had entered through. Peter nodded excessively, glancing between his mentor and the girl in front of him.
“Nice meeting you, Peter,” She said, and the most angelic smile graced her lips. He let out a shaky breath, nodding.
“You too- nice meeting you too-”
“Parker” Tony called after him, already out the door, and waiting.
  “Right, sorry.”
  “Now, Peter,” Tony began.
They were back in the lab, and Peter was trying not to fidget too intensely as he sat awaiting his instruction. “Like I said before, through those doors was your most important mission.”
Peter furrowed his brow, thinking about what Mr. Stark had told him just before he introduced him to you.
“Oh yeah, what was that? You never actually got to show-” Tony raised his eyebrows, staring at him. He swore, for a kid genius, this boy could be incredibly slow sometimes. It took him a second, but Peters’ eyes went wide.
  “Oh- you meant-?”
“There we go, good job kid, you got there.”
“But how is she- my ‘mission’? What the hell does that even mean?”
“It means,  that girl is the single most important thing to me in the whole world, and nothing- I mean capital ‘N’ Nothing can ever happen to her.” He got up from his seat across from Peter, turning to face the gigantic, wall-sized window overlooking lush, green, upstate New York. “And… as much as I’d like to say being Iron Man is all kicking ass and getting chicks… it’s not. Being a hero is dangerous, and it creates a lot of enemies. Enemies who would do anything to get what they want.” He paused, taking a deep breath. “So I need someone to protect her. Someone I can trust. High-level security team just won’t cut it and I can’t exactly have the entirety of the Avengers just trail her around. So, that’s where you come in.”
Tony glanced over his shoulder at Peter, who straightened up, immediately, trying to hide his incredible excitement at the statement ‘someone I can trust’.
Tony turned completely then, his stiff stance relaxing a bit, and Peter wondered if anything had happened to you before to bring on this high tension in Mr. Stark. He hoped not.
“Plus, I think it’d be good if she had a little… friend, or whatever. Someone her age. Her only friends can’t be the super-human freakshow we call the Avengers and her dad, it’s just not right.”
Peter chuckled, in awe of the idea of even living with all those people, let alone being friends with them.
“Got that, kid?” Tony finished, and Peter nodded, straightening himself even more.   “Yes- yes sir, Mr. Stark sir. Of course.”
Tony nodded, unbuttoning his suit jacket and slipping it off.
“Good, now scram, I’ve got work to do and your anxious teenage-boy energy is messing with my space.” Peter pushed himself up to stand, mumbling an incoherent ‘s-sorry’, unsure if Mr. Stark was joking or not. He turned away, reaching for the doorknob.
  “Kid, wait,”
Peter, stopped turning eagerly standing at attention.
“Last thing and this is the most important thing… don’t fall in love with her. Or whatever.”
Peters’ eyes went wide, and he nearly choked on his own tongue.
  “What?”
“You heard me. I saw your bubbly little interaction earlier. Any girl, kid, really, I’ll be your wingman. But not my daughter,”
Peter stood there awkwardly, feeling somewhat like he was getting ‘the talk’ for some reason, unsure of what to say. “Capiche?” Tony continued, and Peter nodded, laughing nervously.
“Yeah, yeah right. Of course sir. I would never.”
Tony remained silent for a moment, his eyes narrowing into a piercing glare. Peter felt as though he were in the scope of a rifle, and the wielder was still debating whether or not he would pull the trigger.
“Good,” Tony said, and Peter let out a breath he hadn’t known he was holding.
“Now scram. I mean it this time. Go do some homework or something- no spider-manning until you’ve finished all your school work alright?”
“Yes sir, of course. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
  “See you tomorrow, sport.”
The door swung shut behind Peter, and he let out a long breath, feeling like he’d just stepped out of a long, intense interrogation. He shook that feeling off, tilting his chin up and squaring his shoulders as he made his way towards the front of the compound, where Happy would no doubt be waiting to give him a ride home. Just as he grabbed his backpack, someone called from behind him.
“Hey, Peter!” That same, serene voice rang out through the quiet compound, and he found himself tripping a bit as he turned all too eager to face it.
“Whoa! Easy there.” You laughed, catching him as he stumbled forward.
Peter pushed himself off you immediately, and he could feel his face warming to a bright, beet red.
“I am, so sorry oh my god-”
You only laughed, and he found himself melting like soft serve once again.   “Don’t worry about it, seriously. I’m a bit of a clutz myself, always bumping into things. It’s fine.”
Peter stared at the floor, embarrassed, gripping the straps of his backpack so tightly he wondered if his super strength would tear them.
“Me too. But, you could already tell that I guess.” He said with an impish smile, and you nodded.
“Yeah, I kinda got that.” You teased, and he felt his ears go a shade darker. “But there’s gotta be something more to you than clumsiness, a cute smile, and a radioactive spider bite, Parker. My dad is super picky about who he lets meet me, so you’ve got something special in you, pretty boy.”
Peter found his stomach doing somersaults at the term ‘pretty boy’. Maybe your father's charm was genetic.
“I uh- I don’t know about that.” He stuttered, and you laughed.
“I do. Watch, you can prove it to me. Lemme see your phone.”
  “What?”
“Your phone! So I can give you my number and you can tell me all about how bland and boring you are. All I do all day is lay around the compound and try to get Vision to give me a straight answer as to whether he’ll die if he says ‘control, alt, delete’, so I’ve got plenty of time on my hands. He says that’s ridiculous but I still haven’t heard him say it so I’m not convinced.”
Peter laughed, bright and genuine as he shook his head.
  “Alright. Here.”
He reached into his backpack, pulling out his cracked iPhone, handing it to you. You took it, deft fingers tapping quickly across the screen as you entered in your name and number.
You handed it back to him, and he glanced down at his screen to see you’d sent out a text.
  ‘Hi’
“Now I have yours.” And as if on cue, the sound of R2-D2 beeped from her back pocket. Peter smiled at that. She pulled out her phone (it was a brand new the XS, which technically hadn’t even come out yet. He wasn’t surprised.) and showed him the screen. His number and the message ‘Hi’ flashed across her screen.
“Perfect.” He grinned, and his own phone beeped.
May: Home soon? Trying a new recipe. Be ready for a scorched kitchen and takeout.
He laughed, stuffing his phone into his back pocket, swinging his bag over his shoulder.
“Well, I should really…” He began walking backward pointing toward the front doors.
“Right yeah. I’ll text you?” she held up her phone, waving it.
  “Yeah, totally- yes. Yes please.”
Please? Jesus Peter, how desperate can you get.
She giggled, wiping a strand of hair out of her face, and he watched as a stripe of red paint smeared across her cheek as she did so.
Oh, he was never going to be able to follow Mr. Starks rule.

The 100 Highlights - “Damocles: Part 2″ (5x13)
Hey guysssssss.
I’m back to cover my final highlight recap for Season 5. After this, I’ll be going more in-depth on analysis/criticism of the overall season so enjoy this lighthearted blundering while you can. :)
To read other posts in this series, you can click here.
Tree is really out here (as always) doing his best work. The score during the opening sequence this episode was *kisses fingers*
I have to say that I did enjoy Bellamy protecting Madi in various ways throughout the finale. He promised Clarke that he would, and it feels like he’s living up to that promise. First by stepping in front of her to protect her from Octavia, and then later when he told her “we’ll be right beside you”, ensuring that he would have her back the entire time. And that he would be there to advise her whenever she needs his help.
“Now we win.” Lousy shot. Ha. Sorry, but that was hot.
“You’ll never know your daughter.” Good. Fucking. Riddance.
“We’ve been here before, Madi. We were the criminals. The 100.” I get weak for any reference to the original hundred what can i say i’m a starving woman
“You can execute them because they’re the enemy, or you can break the cycle. You can be better than them. You can be better than us.”
I do like the theme of Season 5 being about breaking the cycle. Let’s hope that the writers really do mean that when they say it.
I also enjoy the return of motivational speeches Bellamy. Madi may have been the figurehead throughout this episode, but it was really Bellamy leading the way. He may have changed, but he’s still the heart. He still inspires people, and I’m glad that he got to the be the one to have this moment where he changed the tide of the war. It felt like a nice wrap up of his journey over the course of “Book One”.
“We’ll wait as long as we can.” “Deja vu.” MONTY IS THE ONLY REAL ONE HERE. My first thought when Raven said that line was “oh ffs not this again”.
I did enjoy the parallel of Monty saving Murphy’s life like Murphy did in 4x13.
“First we save their lives. Then we let them prove they deserve it.” “The commanders told you that?” “No. Bellamy.” aksqinsks first lemme laugh at Clarke’s skepticism about the flame telling Madi to spare them because that bitch KNOWS that they would never be so noble lmao. Second lemme appreciate my crumbs.
I mean ... I guess we finally know how the radio calls were addressed???
Clarke’s hopeful little smile when Bellamy sat down next to her on the ship was really cute. She looks so guilty and nervous. Eliza raised millions for the Blarkes in this episode.
“THAT’S BRILLIANT!” Me, every single time Bellamy Blake speaks. Thank you for the enthusiasm, Clarkey G.
Bellamy and Clarke are so, so, so awkward in this scene between them but it kind of feels like ... the start of something? Like, they both have made huge mistakes and still found it in them to forgive each other despite it. And now they know how much the other cares for them. I have to hope that it means they’re going to move forward. For real, this time. How they’re supposed to.
“You’re not mad at me for leaving you in Polis?” “The commander told me not to be.” Anyway, Bellamy’s jokes still suck and Clarke still laughs at them so ... some things never change?
“I’ll meet you on the bridge.” That was a weighted fucking look, my dudes. I liked that Bellamy thought to include Clarke. It felt like an apology, in a way.
Also, WAS THAT THE S5 BELLARKE THEME I HEARD IN THAT SCENE. Cause if so, it’s fucking beautiful.
THAT LOOK BETWEEN THE BLAKES. BOB AND MARIE HAVE SO MUCH CHEMISTRY.
“Cheer up. I wasn’t invited either.” I LOVE A WOMAN
“Your mistake was liking it. Power. It’s the kiss of death. It’s okay. I liked it, too.” Ivana and Marie are both such compelling actresses and HEY LOOK THEY GOT CHEMISTRY. I honestly really enjoyed this short scene between the two of them. They were enemies and yet - no hard feelings. Because the war wasn’t personal to them. We didn’t get many scenes between Charmaine and Octavia this season (or obvious reasons) but I’m intrigued to see if we’ll get more in Season 6 because they work really naturally together. And they seem to understand something about each other (or, at least, Charmaine understands something about Octavia).
Bellamy and Clarke leading the meeting on the ship ... it felt like old times. I really loved that everyone looked to them for guidance in that scene, despite everything that happened throughout the rest of the season. Gives me hope that we might (finally !) get that co-leading dynamic back in Season 6, especially since they were the two that will be informing the others of Monty and Harper’s discovery.
Bellamy, in particular, gave me serious Chancellor vibes in that episode. He really stepped into his leadership boots this season, especially near the end there.
Dear god, please get rid of that goddamn flame as a viable form of leadership. If anyone from Eligius starts following it next season I’m calling B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T. Let Bellamy and Clarke lead, dammit!
Also ... Zeke looked to Bellamy for permission to speak. Not the Commander. So jot that down, honey’s.
“And Bob’s your uncle.” “I thought you hated that phrase.” “It’s growing on me.” STOP this was cute (and now i’m cryingggggg cause that was Monty and Raven’s last interaction ever)
Clarke taking the bindi off of Madi. 10/10 great scene, let’s burn it now.
Marie in that tank top ... ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm where’s the nearest bucket of holy water
“Kind of like closing the door in the floor.” “Kind of like that.” I liked this callback. Octavia is soft with Bellamy in this scene in a way we haven’t really seen all season. It’s ... oddly nice? Coming from someone who has never cared for Octavia.
“You’re my sister, and a part of me will always love you.” “Does the other part of you still wish I was dead?” “The other part wishes a part of you was. Yeah.”
OKAY. I really liked this scene for a couple of reasons. The first being that I think it clarifies the line from 5x12 where Bellamy tells O that he wishes she was dead A LOT. It basically confirms that Bellamy was referring to the part of Octavia that is blodreina, which doesn’t feel as out of character (whereas Bellamy wishing for his sister’s death did).
I also really like that, even though Octavia tells Bellamy that she loves him and he tells her that he loves her, too, he doesn’t forgive her. Bellamy and Octavia feel like they are finally on the road to establishing healthy boundaries and burying their dysfunctional relationship in place of building something new. I’ve always wanted this to be textual on the show and I never anticipated that we might actually get it. What they did with the Blakes this season is probably one of my favourite things to come out of the season.
And, as always, Marie and Bob are stunning together. This is a large part of the reason that I’m actually okay with Octavia surviving this season, because they work so damn well together.
I feel like Tree doesn’t get enough credit for his work so I have to mention, again, how beautiful the score was during that scene. He elevates the show so much with his music. In the scene where Clarke and Bellamy woke up, alone, it had such an eery feel to it. I really liked it.
Ngl, my FAVOURITE moment in this entire episode was Bellamy and Clarke’s soft-ass fucking smiles when Bellamy’s pod opened. Like, Clarke’s face when she was watching Bellamy wake up? A BITCH IS IN LOVE. And Bellamy was so soft too ughhhhhhhh Platonic Excellence
“Hey.” “Hey.” HEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
LISTEN. BELLAMY BLAKE DESERVES TO WAKE UP TO CLARKE LIKE THIS EVERY SINGLE MORNING FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE OKAY? OKAY I’M GLAD WE’RE ON THE SAME PAGE
...
I’m a Big Fan. They’re so fucking cute. That was so domestic. How do I move on?
“Why is it just us?” I literally stood up and yelled “BECAUSE IT’S FATE DUMBASS”
“That’s the way mom and dad wanted it.” I stan my new Bellarke warrior
“Can I just say that - wow - I mean, I can’t tell you how good it is to finally meet you. Weird, but good. Great, actually.” WHY IS THIS LITERALLY ME WHEN I MET BOB AND ELIZA
ALSO JORDAN IDOLIZING BELLAMY AND CLARKE? RELATABLE. THIS WOULD 100% BE ME IF I GOT TO MEET THEM
“Who are you?” WHY THE FUCK AM I LAUGHING. Bellamy is so intense and he’s got his deep voice and he’s wearing his intimidation face and him and Clarke are both looking at Jordan like “what the actual fuck is going on” and then there’s Shannon Kook with his adorable fucking smile and his adorable fucking voice and he’s literally a bundle of sunshine and these two people are just glaring at him. BELLAMY, CLARKE, SWEETIES, PLAY NICE THAT IS YOUR GODSON YOU ARE TALKING TO
“My name. Right. I didn’t tell you my name. Sorry. I haven’t met anyone before, so clearly I suck at it.” Reason #2 for Jordan being the most relatable character ever. I, too, am the most horridly awkward human in the world. Step aside, Clarkey G, I think I’ve found my TRUE self-insert on this show.
Monty and Harper are just the loveliest couple on this show. I never anticipated how much I would love them when they hooked up in Season 3. Wow. It was really nice to get all of those shots of them in peacetime, just loving each other, on the ship - especially after how little screentime they got throughout the rest of the season. Also, I swear that Shannon has a mixture between Monty and Harper’s smiles. What is this sorcery?
“Smart like his father.” “Kind like his mum.” CAN YOU HEAR ME CRYING ALL THE WAY DOWN HERE ON EARTH
(Also ... sounds like my new damn favourite character.)
“Hey Bellamy ... hey Clarke.” WTF MY EYES ARE SWEATING
“Wait ... take care of our boy.” Listen, Jordan. Madi failed me. I’m counting on YOU to parent trap them. Okay? Okay.
But seriously, the fact that Monty and Harper trusted Bellamy and Clarke to take care of their kid, that they wanted it to be them ... is A Lot. I’m excited to see how that goes in Season 6.
When Jordan opened the window and the new planet appeared and the music started swelling I got fucking shivers. Holy hell. It was so beautiful. TREE WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME
“Can you see it? Is it beautiful? It is in my dreams. I hope we do better there. I hope Jasper was wrong and we aren’t the problem. I hope your lives there will be as happy as mine has been. Be the good guys. May we meet again.”
GUYS THOSE WORDS FROM MONTY ARE FUCKING EVERYTHING
LIKE, THESE ARE THE EMOTIONAL BEATS THAT THE REST OF SEASON 5 HAS BEEN MISSING
This is honestly the first real time where I’ve had hope that they might actually break the cycle. That they might build something new. Its the end of an era, but it feels like the start of something new. I genuinely cannot predict what is going to happen on that planet. Which is a new feeling. And I like it.
And of fucking course it would be Monty and Jasper (and Harper) who are responsible for breaking that cycle. Of course. This is the best thing they could have done with Jasper’s memory, is sending Monty on this mission to do better for the rest of humanity. And this is the best send-off I ever could have asked for for any character. Monty and Harper have been with us since the beginning. It just feels right that they should get this ending, that they should be the ones who usher in the next generation of The 100. Like. Wow. I’m speechless.
Also, that Bellarke side hug was er nice. That’s the most domestic they have ever looked. Idc. Bellamy staring at the Earth alone on the Ark in 4x13 and 5x01 vs him staring at the new planet with Clarke at his side is the ONLY parallel I claim.
The final shot of them through the window with the planet reflected around them was STUNNING. Honest to god the most beautiful shot I think this show has ever done.
“End Book One” on Bellamy and Clarke, together, staring at the new world and the new hope they will deliver to their people. Maybe that’s what the first five seasons were really about. Bringing them to this place, where they are staring at the future - side by side, as a unit, ready to face whatever comes next.
Fuck.
I have to say that I enjoyed the second half of that episode way more than the first half. I feel like it had a lot of emotional beats that I really wanted to see throughout the season (that we just weren’t getting) and it also teed up a lot for the next season. I’m so intrigued by what they’re going to find down on that planet, and I’m excited for the writers to really break the cycle and build something new - hopefully something that involves more character moments.
I still haven’t decided if I’m going to continue with this series in Season 6, but stay tuned! I hope you enjoyed reading all of my recaps throughout this season. It’s been a ride ahaha. See ya on the other side, folks.

Yes, yes!!  Part two has arrived!
In case anyone missed the last one, this is an account from the mother of @my70srollingfloyd, who had the pleasure of becoming acquainted with our boys in the early 70s.  Thank you so, so much for sharing! <333
And now we have part 2 which includes the ever so gracious Jimmy Page and comparisons/summaries between the lovely men. Once again I simply allow her to talk to her hearts content, all I do is press record and type it down. Enjoy!
“Well I am going to be very open about me, the people along with everything I experienced but you are old enough to know about it all and I definitely believe that this band, those four whole-hearted men still have an impeccable influence on so many fans, both boys and girls so I am more than happy to share.
Jimmy to me had always been an intriguing person, because there were just so parts of him. Some good, some bad and some pure.
When I first met him back in 1972 he didn’t really make any notion to get to know me whenever I was with Robert which I was okay with, but he always acknowledged me respectfully which I found in a way odd because it was a completely different approach than the way he treated some of the girls. He and Robert charmed their way into countless hearts of young girls but also broke a lot of those hearts. In a way I think they needed to be broken by him and Robert because it taught those girls, including me about ourselves and it showed the two of them what they were capable of and how they loved. We were all so young, none of us really knew what love was or how to go about it.
You would know if Jimmy liked you or not, as well with the other band members. They made it known how much you meant to them. Most of the people who hung around for short periods of time didn’t mean much. In a way I like to say I was a little lucky because I did mean something on those crazy nights.
I can remember I was with Robert drinking tea at like maybe 3 in the morning and out of nowhere he told me that he thought I was a ‘Californian soul that has an uncanny ability to make people happy’. Some of those people were there for sex, some for laughs, some for inspiration, some for little romances to feed the loneliness and some to have a friend in. It was just a bunch of people from all walks of life.
When I first got together with Jimmy it was 1973. Me and Robert of course had history but so did him and a thousand other girls. Undoubtedly he had a new fling yet I was oddly numb to it all. I hadn’t expected him to only be with me whenever he came by, like I said before he was born meant to wander and show all kinds of people love. I accepted it quickly before I analyzed it. Looking back now after all of this time, deep down it did hurt which is weird to say out loud because I had seen him with other girls countless times before. I mean I was so young so of course it hurt me and everything was so new to me in so many new ways.
Anyways, Robert and I talked for a while but he had seemed preoccupied with other activities and antics for the night so I kind of excused myself because I knew me and him were nothing more than heartfelt memories. He had tried to convince me to hang around with them for a while in 1972 and I thought that maybe if I had gone that we could have been more than those ‘heartfelt memories’ but I also knew not going would hurt less.
With that I kissed him goodnight and started to aimlessly wander around the club we were in. All I really remember at first was seeing that everyone seemed to have their significant other for the night besides Jimmy. Whenever any of the band members were alone they obviously had to ask to be left alone and for one of the roadies to keep people away. I suddenly felt brave and thought for me it was a good of a time as any to finally have a real conversation with him. So I walked over and to my surprise the guy was completely sober. All he did was stare at me and then he handed me the half empty glass in his hand to drink. I can only remember bits and pieces of our first conversation but he went deep into his thoughts on the music industry, small funny memories and even his views on life itself.
Him and Robert were very much alike when it came to talking with another person because they knew how to get you to talk even if you didn’t like to. They knew how to make you believe they were interested in every single thing you were saying. Him and I both had our fair share of drinks and conversation. There was one point in the night where we had ended up in one of the hallways of Zeppelin’s floor. I had been stumbling and then almost fell Jimmy caught me and immediately kissed me. I was so caught off guard that my eyes stayed open for several seconds when he first did it. I finally closed my eyes after I saw just how into the kiss he was. The night went on and we both melted into each other.
Jimmy too was a great kisser and an ever better lover. He fed off of making you feel good inside and out. That first night together he took his time just like Robert did. I almost laughed out loud at how experienced they both were in bed. We stayed up for hours loving each other.
When I had first hooked up with Robert he had certain things about him I remember. He whispered a lot to me. Simple lovey words, but they meant the world to me in those moments. I had never believed I was beautiful until he told me I was that night. He also seemed to have a particular liking for kissing the neck area, and he loved knowing that he was making you feel good. Rob always wanted to hear verbal responses, but you know sometimes thats hard when you’re completely out of your head full with lust. Robert was always gentle with me and he never rushed anything. With others he was probably different to each one but for me I just recall how careful and loving he was with me.
Jimmy was a gentleman as well. The first few times he was soft and charming, but there were a few nights he was, well how do I say this? He was more….adventurous. Which I was more than okay with because we had a lot of fun with one another. Jim loved to just touch and kiss pretty much everywhere his fingers had been before. Him and Robert were huge on foreplay and sometimes it made me go crazy, just the damn anticipation. But of course they relished in it.
I could never say one was a better lover than the other. They both made me feel things I haven’t felt with anyone else. They were the kind of guys that brought your standards up so high for guys in bed and then you wonder why the next guy you’re with is just not the same. Everyone moves on and finds new attractions and connections, a lot of them have been amazing for me but nothing like they were with Jim and Robert. Both knew they had been with me and there were no strings attached so no one got hurt by that I assume.
I had been on little excursions with the both of them where I learned a lot about them. Robert secretly loves to dance but would never say it to your u face. Jimmy is fascinated with concepts and theories, he always has ideas swirling in his mind.
There was one occasion where I remember dancing to John Paul’s guitar playing in his room with Rob and everyone else, I have no idea what the song was but we danced and danced all while being drunk out of our minds. There was one time I got Jimmy to dance and it was surprisingly in a club. He too was drunk but I jokingly whined until he finally smiled and gave in, he danced like he was a little kid having the best time of his life. I am in no way trying to brag because all of the experiences with them humbled me tremendously but I was grateful to be treated kindly by the both of them because there were some girls who were treated like utter crap which is sad to say but it was true.
The two of them were very important people in my life who really did shape me into the person I am today. They were gorgeous men, everything about them. I think I fell in love with them each for short periods of time here and there. Sometimes for a day, sometimes for a few minutes the whole thing was so outlandish. We were just human beings having as much fun as we could, with little to no idea that we’d all grow old wishing for those days to come back to us. The parties were big, the band was big everything was just grand when it came to the four of them.
One thing though that will always stick with me, that will always come back to was a short conversation I had with John Paul one morning. I can recall him telling me how he thought I was good for Robert because I brought him down to Earth when he floated a little to far a way, and I was good for Jimmy because I was able to push him out of his comfort zone to try new things. John Paul was very hungover but talked so seriously about the topic. He had said he could see that the two of them had connections with me they didn’t have with everybody. But I also remember him telling me that he knew I was smart, and that I shouldn’t set myself up to get broken in the end.
I will always cherish the way they changed me, it was all for the better. I wish every person on this Earth could experience the feelings and moments I had with them. Everyone deserves to feel like that even if it is just for a short amount of time. I have held on to those days and recounted them more than I’d like to say but how could I not? They were Rock n’ roll. The music they created, the performances they gave and the lives they lived were so incredible, and to be a part of that in some ways made me the happiest girl in the world.”

On Xenoblade Chronicles
Hey everything! This be me Eienias20 wanting to talk about my history with Xenoblade Chronicles. Not just the first one which is my favorite game of all time but the other two and what I think about everything.
Why? Two reasons. First is that I just want to. I’ve wanted to for a while. I love Xenoblade Chronicles so why not? Second is a bit more serious. I read a tweet about fandoms, stating which were the worst and the best. Gaming fandoms specifically. And someone in the replies brought up the current state of the Xenoblade fandom.
All the things surrounding 2 don’t paint a pretty picture but I’m confident this fandom won’t go the way my last top fandom did. (Fire Emblem)
So let’s begin!
I heard of the original Xenoblade Chronicles because people REALLY wanted that game brought over here...for some reason? I didn’t read into the finer details but it sounded interesting. Also “Xenoblade? Is that related to Xenosaga?” Yes I did think that.
I had passing interest in Xenosaga back then but never played the games. My older sister has, she’s played two of em.
Anyway, I decided “Why not?” and got ahold of Xenoblade Chronicles after it released and HOLY SHIT! I was not expecting to fall in love with that game as hard as I did. Its not just my favorite game ever, I also consider it the best game I’ve ever played.
It nailed everything. An amazing story, deep characters, a fascinating world to explore! From start to finish I was enthralled and as I got farther into the game I wanted to know how it all ended but dreaded reaching the credits because then it’d be over!
But all stories must end and the ending was the cherry on top. To me, Xenoblade Chronicles is the perfect game. And from that point on, MonolithSoft owned me.
I bet you can imagine how eager I was to pick up Xenoblade Chronicles X right? Very eager. Day One.
Unfortunately it would be quite a few months after release that I got the game for various reasons but when I finally did, it was on.
Before X even came out I watched the first few trailers and was deeply interested in this new world and story and all these characters that they featured. There was no context to anything so for the longest time all I knew was this: humanity crash lands on an alien planet and struggles to survive.
That’s it. The antagonists? The Ganglion? I didn’t even know they existed until I played the game myself and wow was that fun. There was one day where me and my younger sister traded off exploring Noctilum. According to the Wii U’s statistics we played X for 11 hours! That was nuts.
I greatly enjoyed X and it introduced me to Elma, one of the best female video characters ever and possibly my fave. She’s a rad character.
Of course, after all that time in X (which now is up to 600 hours across to runs) I joined a discord for the Xenoblade games for a few months. I think almost a year. Not sure. There was a lot of fun to be had there after I joined but I’m no longer a member for many reasons, key among them: it stopped being fun.
X was in this position where it followed the original XC which many consider to be a crowning JRPG, an amazing game. So naturally a lot of comparisons were made with quite a few people putting it over X. As a note, I’m not talking about the discord, this is just general internet stuff I’ve seen. In fact, the discord was more prone to putting X over XC which I disagreed with.
I think they’re both good games and while I obviously prefer XC, I can tell now that they were aimed in different directions.
Xenoblade Chronicles set out to tell a story and give you a grand adventure. Which it did. X set out to give you a world and fill your hours with exploration and wonder. Which it did.
This is where my personal opinion comes in and a little bit of how I feel about the three games in general right now.
From the moment I saw XC2, I could tell that it looked like the exact kind of game I wanted to play after I finished XC. It’s presenting itself as a grand adventure with an intriguing story and an interesting cast of characters, much like the original XC. Those elements together is what made XC my top game ever and that’s why I’m so stoked for XC2.
X was not that. I enjoyed my time with X as I’ve said and like the original game it had an amazing world to explore, the gameplay was fun and they both had great OSTs...but X lacked an amazing story and with the exception of Elma and Lin, the characters had no depth.
My biggest point on that being Irina’s 2nd affinity mission which isn’t even about her. All it tells you is she valued her family. That’s it. She got screwed on that one but truth be told, most AMs didn’t do nearly enough for their characters. There is something to be gleaned from at least half of them, but that is the disadvantage to having a cast of almost 20 as opposed to the 7 of the original. They can’t all have the focus.
And even if you reduce the cast to only the important ones, there still wasn’t nearly enough depth there, at least from what I wanted.
But then, X never set out to do that. The disappointment wasn’t exclusively X’s fault. It was set around exploration of the planet. Story and character was second to gameplay and while I love a good game as much as the next, the characters and story can grip you in a way like no other. And they didn’t.
All this brings me now to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 releasing relatively soon. December 1st. I’m so excited.
XC2 is being developed as a game that I personally prefer. Like the others it has an amazing world, the gameplay looks fun and the OST, by Naga the OST. But of course with the focus returning to characters and story it just puts it over the top for me.
There have been naysayers and complaints flying around since its reveal but X suffered the same fate early on. So its good to look ahead post release and realize those voices will fade away. Whether they turn out to like the game or decide to skip it, they’ll move on and those of us who are greatly excited for it, can enjoy the game to their fullest.
I wanted to address some of the complaints I’ve heard around, the ones about character design specifically but a lot of people have already shared opinions on that worded far better than I and I’ve reblogged them a few times somewhere in my tumblr. Doesn’t really matter.
In summation, no one’s design bugs me and a design convincing someone not to pick up the game is a pretty weak argument. Same for those writing essays about why its bad or “problematic” especially in the face of the most recent trailers.
Release is December 1st. Nothing is changing. So y’know. Accept it or move on is all I can say.
Xenoblade 2 has also gotten flack for not being X2 given that X’s ending (if you could even call that an ending) was an obvious cliffhanger. By which I mean, nothing of note was resolved and no answers of value were given.
So I could see how people would want answers but its unfair to blame 2 for not being X2. Again, personal opinion: X2 has a gigantic fight ahead of itself to deal with all the everything left open at the end of X. I’m not confident in that coming together well at all.
Despite my grievances with X, I’m still the idiot who put and enjoyed 600 hours of it so perish the thought that I hate the game. I greatly prefer XC in every single way, but I could pop in X right now, play it for a few hours and have a blast cause being stuck on a different planet does have its fun points. Many of them.
To wrap this up I say, I can not wait for December 1st to play Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and join Rex and Pyra’s adventure to find Elysium!
And also to hang out with Tora cause he’s adorable.
Back to the job search I go cause I need money.
Thank you anyone for bothering to read a Xenoblade fan’s thoughts on Xenoblade.

LITERALLY SO MANY QUESTIONS AND THIS IS ONLY HALF OF THEM
lmao RIP me (now u know why i take so long to answer)
do you know the game what remains of edith finch? its really fantastic, I just finished the part with lewis, his whole situation with reality reminded me of santi. just wanted to tell you :)
surprisingly no i haven’t ever heard of it! :O but now i’m intrigued, i googled it and i’m reading up on it hehe thank you for telling me, u learn something new every day :~}
Hello femmesim! I'm a new simblr & I see you get a lot of notes on your great story! I guess this probably means you have a lot of followers too. I was wondering if you follow them all back. If not do you check out your followers & how do you decide which ones to follow back? What don't you like. What would make you unfollow them? Oops that was a lot lol!
iiiiiiiii honestly haven’t even looked at my actual followers page in a loooooong time, even on my personal blog i was never good with that lol. i just can’t keep up with everyone and i don’t want to feel obligated to follow everyone back because that would be way too many posts on my dashboard all the time y’know. it sounds mean but...ajksdgdsf i WISH i could follow everyone back but itsjustnotrealistic
tbh i follow people back when they reach out to me, make an effort to engage with me, send me messages, reply, or just frequently interact with my posts because it gets my attention and shows their personality. i don’t mean that as in like...”you can’t be my friend unless you give me notes” (LMFAO NO) i mean it as in like i’m fcking oblivious and it’s too much work for me to go out of my way and check out every single blog that follows me :{ but i love messaging and communicating through replies so even if you’re nervous pleeeease step out of your comfort zone, i promise i’m like a pretty good OK human being and i try to make funny jokes so talking to me isn’t that bad i promise.
as for your other questions...tbh i dunno, i like blogs that interest me. (duh...lmao what kind of answer even is that) i usually go for people that show their personalities in their posts (go figure), like memes (lmfao), have an intriguing aesthetic, HONESTLY IDK...i follow a lot of diverse blogs tbh, not just ones that are similar to mine. i only unfollow ppl if i have no memory of following them and their content doesn’t interest me, if they say/do something that irks or angers me (that’s only happened like twice tho), or if they post like EXCESSIVE nsfw...i didn’t sign up for that lmao
i hope i don’t sound like an asshole for all this but it’s just like...i can’t deny i get a lot of attention on here. and i never expected it so i’m pretty unprepared for it lmao. i try my best tho :{ just reach out to me and we’ll probably be frands ok
so many feelings
Tumblr media
I just wanted to say how much I love your blog but to the Anon who said how she looks white if she's Hispanic. Not all hispanics are brown haired and tan. I'm Puerto Rican and I'm blonde and have blue eyes. Hispanics come in different tones and what nots :)
hell0 thank you <3 yeah hispanic people are very diverse, especially with varying nationalities, and especially with puerto ricans. i personally know a lot of puerto ricans who are white passing so it’s really not that uncommon. everyone’s different, and as eir said, white passing POC are still POC!
papa ya - sunny ; thats your song boo lol
OOH i actually like this...i’m boppin my head rn lmao thank u
So basically the last anon is saying hispanics can't be 'white'? I know many 'white' hispanics???
i don’t wanna twist their words, i think they just meant molly looks ethnically white and i understand that, i’m not denying she’s white passing but tbh...idk, if she wasn’t my own sim i’d look at her and kinda know she’s not 100% white y’know. she has features that don’t look european. plus the fact that i’ve posted her speaking spanish before soooo. anyway yeah it’s very possible for a hispanic person to literally have white skin but that doesn’t mean they’re ethnically white
well if she has family from spain it's normal for them to have blonde hair and green eyes, so i mean that could make sense.
she could, who’s to say lol. it’s rly not that deep tho, she’s half white, half puerto rican, das it. but yeaah there is a wide array of genetic possibilities for every race! who’da thunk it
Hey, I'm a new reader, is it possible you could link some earlier parts to your story. You don't have to if it's problem though I know how tumblr be. I love the visuals style of your sims. That's what caught my eye. I also was wondering what editing program would you suggest. I kinda want to test out editing my sims.
heyo i summed up the story here and here and there’s a lot of posts of key events linked in there! thank you though, that’s so kind ;-; <3 wellll the only editing program i use is photoshop cs6 so i’d recommend that haha. you can find it for free pretty easily, but if you’re not into that, there are plenty of other programs you can use. i know a lot of ppl on here use gimp.
hi! I need advice and idk where to get it from but you seem like a really good person who has some wisdom lol! so basically i'm in a big financial situation. I had a good paying job but it made me have anxiety and panic attack because i hated it so much. and i quit my job before i had another job lined up. So my bank account is very close to being completely empty and i have bills and i have to move soon. I NEED ADVICE OR SOMEONE TO TELL ME ITS GOING TO BE OK.
omg first of all i’m so touched that you even came to me with this wtf ;___; ily
second of all it IS going to be ok, you shouldn’t force yourself to do something you hate if it’s really impeding on your mental health that much. it’s not good for you in the long run, even if it pays well. like, at what cost do you want to sell yourself in order to make money? my point is you made a good decision but lacked the foresight, which luckily is something that can be remedied easily. (well...hopefully, but job hunting is never easy :\ ) if you’re still in this situation by the time your bills and everything catch up to you, you can always seek help from family and friends or look into loans...find someone (or multiple people) who will stick by you and support you through this, because this is something way too hard to do alone. (if you don’t have anyone, i’m here for you ;-; ) i honestly don’t have any good advice for finding another job because tbh that’s something i always flounder in, and i’m gonna have to do the same thing by the time i finish up school in the next month AHHHHH
i’m prayin 4 both of us, but you especially <3
Hi!!! sorry i remember seeing an ask about Lou's eyelashes but i cannot find it :((( could you please tell me where can i find it???
hey she just uses the kijiko ones! sometimes if it’s a closeup i use these eyelash brushes tho
hi! sorry, this is a weird question but i thought you could help maybe.... i recently started playing ts4 again, but when i am in cas, there is a weird shine on all cc hairs.... do you have a solution for this? thank you in advance!
hmmmmm i kinda get a weird shiny glitch too but it’s only with certain things, and it’s usually remedied by clicking on the sim’s different outfit categories until it goes away lol. but if it’s on ALL of the hairs...hmm...i’m assuming you’re talking about alpha? because i don’t think clay hairs usually have that problem. check if laptop mode is on, if it is, turn it off!! that’s the only solution i can think of :{
i feel like too many people are reading too deeply into things. either way i love your work and just read the entire thing in a day and i love you so much idek.
i think this was sent when i was getting messages about my dialogue haha. i mean i definitely understand their points in saying it has too many realistic vocal quirks, but tbh that’s what i like about it, and i think that’s part of the reason people connect with it. idk. but thank you so much ily ;__;
hi i just wanted to ask how do you manage your time and how do you post frequently without feeling overworked and overwhelmed ? do you have some sort of schedule, because you seem very organized lol . tysm for answering <3 !
hmmmmm how? um poorly LMAO
no but really...it’s hard. i’m glad i’m so into this story/eager to see all your reactions to it because otherwise the chaos of my life would’ve definitely deterred me from moving along with it a while ago. that’s basically the reason i’m so surprised i even made it this far tbh. i accomplished so much more than i ever thought i would. ;__;
i don’t have an answer for this question because i DO often feel overwhelmed and i have to take a step back and remind myself it’s not the end of the world if i don’t have time to go in game or edit or whatever. i think it’s because i set up this timeline for myself in terms of goals i want to reach with my story throughout the rest of the year and i get frustrated with myself when those plans become delayed because of other obligations. (for example i definitely thought baby wallace would’ve been born by now lmao syke) i was getting burnt out very easily before, which is why i’ve been taking it slower lately (that and i’ve been working a lot more so i don’t have as much free time as i used to :\ ) the good thing about having different characters tho is that when i get burnt out on one thing i can just switch over to another thing at an opportune time (which is what i’ve always done with santi and girooni)
anyway yeah i am kinda organized (in my own weird way) in terms of story planning, controlling the pacing and key events, and that’s definitely the reason i’m able to post so frequently. i used to have multiple free days a week where i could go in game for long amounts of time and get lots of scenes done at once, but at this point in my current schedule i just basically go in game whenever i'm free from the clutches of capitalism (jk we’re never free save us bernie) which means i only have time to do like one thing in game but it seems to be working just as well so far.
.............i’m how i wrote a novel to answer this
im glad i pretty much got it. i can really relate to everything going on. i can see a lot of myself in santi and molly & i get it. the movies make you think you fall in love and everythings fixed like they fill that void in your soul and i mean sure they fill parts of it but you need to do that yourself and not rely on someone else. Your story is real and you can tell your writing from personal experience because theres so much feeling. u think ur fixing urself and u end up more hurt in the end
i’m so glad you can relate ;-; i think that’s one of my proudest accomplishments so far. i mean santi has always been relatable for me because he IS me...or at least partly me, just like all my characters are. but i never thought anyone else would feel the same way, so it means so much to me that people enjoy him as a character because of that.
anyway YES exactly. i hate the “no one’s going to love you if you don’t love yourself” mentality, i think it’s a toxic way of looking at the benefits of genuine self love. the sentiment behind it is true, but it’s a backwards way of looking at it. someone’s else’s love shouldn’t be your motivation, your own love toward yourself should be your motivation. when you look at it in the other way, you do end up getting more hurt in the end.
lol anons back the frick off, that scene is perfect, santi is perfect, sunny is perfect, the stuttering is perfect THIS BLOG IS FREAKIN PERFECT
oMG i appreciate the support, but i don’t blame those people for having issues with my dialogue hahahha. i know it’s kind of different and weird but it just feels right for me when i write it so i go with it. i rly like santi’s stuttering tho so *shrugs* THANK YOU THO ILY <333
hey! I was wondering if you have any tips on making(?) light leaks in photoshop? idk if you've answered this already bc I'm on mobile, buT if u have I'll just check when I get on my computer next !!! Thanks !
ummM I DON’T ACTUALLY because i get all my light leaks off google lmao. i have a folder of all the ones i’ve collected over time lmao
you could probably easily make some with the paintbrush in overlay mode with varying opacities tho? i’ve tried to replicate this a few times actually, but the rest of the time i just use light leaks made by other people lol
Do you enjoy more playing the game or taking the photos/making the story? Do you play challenges?
LATELY i’ve been just enjoying playing the game because i’ve gotten burnt out on story things and just playing is such a nice break from it haha. whenever i have to wait in game for it to be a certain time of day for story purposes, i go play with girooni for a few sim hours to pass the time and it’s fun for me lmao. i’m looking forward to my story winding down so i can get back to doing more gameplay things like i did before but at the same time i’ll always do at least something story related because i like the sense of direction it gives y’know.
i’ve never actually tried any challenges, not even just regular old legacies because i would always either get sick of the sims i was playing with or get too attached to them and not want to go to a new generation lmao. i was never interested in any challenges tbh. i like watching other people do bachelor(ette) challenges tho heheh
WHEN DID SANTI BECOME SUCH A STRONK BOI also you are so sweet we don't deserve you??? You are a blessing I love you thank you for doing this aaaaa ;;; you are an inspiration I hope I can do what you do too! OK BYE HAVE A NICE DAY ❤️❤️❤️
OMG HE’S ALWAYS BEEN SECRETLY STRONK (i’m assuming this is about how he beat ugly stepdad to a pulp lmao) he mostly gets his strength from anger and an adrenaline rush. a BLESSING WHAT!!!!!! YOU’RE SO SWEET ILY ;__; don’t thank me, i’m just doin what i love <3 have a nice day/night/rest of your life ily
But why are ur anons so needy lol isn't that like ur third one angry that u haven't responded
ugh i feel bad because i get it, i do, i understand it hurts when you reach out to someone multiple times and you get ignored, but i don’t do it on purpose and i have explained, many times, the plenty of valid reasons why i can’t respond to 100% of my messages. i’m actually trying to answer all of my message right now with these mass answer posts and it’s REALLY a lot for me to go out of my way and do this. so i’m trying ok. but like i’m only a person ajhsdghjdfjhk i can only give so much attention to this y’know. please be patient
from this moment on we should all proceed to take cautions around ppl named dan.... TAINTED
I KNO RIGHT...dan is such an ugly boring name (no offense to the dans of the world) but like if you’re a dane you’re probably evil or are the human embodiment of cardboard
I can not say it enough. Great story. It's life. And life is beautiful, loving, refreshing and sometimes it can be harsh & scary. You take the good with the bad. I look forward to what comes next. --"Run away, run far away" nony (I have to start thinking of new tag line, because I am diggin Santi and Lou together) :)
HELLO FRIEND i kinda love that you keep coming back ehehe. and i’m glad you’re enjoying it so much ;___; these words are so kind and genuine, thank you so much <3333 OMG i’m glad you like santou as well even though they’re on a slow decline right now. i’m really excited about what i have planned in the future tho
omggggg my theory is the first one on that list you posted!! i'm so happy for that but also sad bc of what's going on with molly and santi and i hope that santi will finally just be happy soon. love you and your sims (except step dad dan) 💕💕
OOH HELLO YES you basically guessed everything that happened up until this point hahaha congratulations <33 santi will be happy...eventually. it’s going to be a long hard road in getting there tho. i hope you’ll all be satisfied in the end
fuck you dan stepdad

Top 5 favorite games
Alright so here is the second, part I’ve been spending a lot of time working on this whole thing so I hope you enjoy!
Number 5:The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap                                                Developer and Release year: Nintendo, 2004 Japan, 2005 NA                            What it can be played on: GBA/ Wii U Virtual Console
So I’m not gonna pretend like 4 of my top 5 picks aren’t Zelda games, that being said the Minish Cap is a game I played more recently, around last year, and at first after beating it I sort of just put it in my top 20, I loved it yeah, but I never really thought about it until now that, even though it was short, every thing about this game was solid and fun to me, the shrinking mechanic was challenging but very well done aesthetically, and the story was good, with the relationship between Link and Zelda, them being childhood friends and Link doing whatever it takes to have his friend back, and the villain Vaati was interesting in his relationship with the Minish (The inhabitants of the tiny world) and his final boss fight being very difficult for me, and the story wraps up nicely as usual, all in all it was a Zelda experience that I truly loved, and my favorite 2D Zelda game.
Favorite part(s): Definitely the Aesthetic and design of the tiny world, and all the charm around the entire game
Number 4:Sonic Adventure 2                                                                                  Developer and Release year: Sega, 2001                                                              What it can be played on: Dreamcast/Gamecube/PC/PS3/XB360
There it is, probably the most controversial pick on this entire list, unless maybe the next one is too i dont know, but I am a Sonic fan, which is something sort of rare these days, unless you like Mania which is pretty awesome but I’m more of a 3D guy, but this game is my favorite Sonic game because, even though the story is confusing I love it, it was dark and i legitimately felt like Dr.Robotnik was actually a major threat. There are 3 types of gameplay, the Classic Sonic/Shadow, The treasure hunting, and the robot/mech levels that make up the game, the best is the Classic gameplay of Sonic and Shadow, that usually isn’t up for debate, the other modes are pretty fun, but I love the game for the Sonic/Shadow levels, and the game to me really picks up on the Space Colony Ark in the Final Act. The *spoilers ahead* part where Shadow (who I forgot to mention is one of my favorite characters and not because I’m an edgy frick) turns to Sonic’s side and fights the Biolizard to buy them time, Shadow’s character arc was amazing in this game, and the final boss was really fun too, not to mention the soundtrack i mean, it’s a sonic game of course there’s a good soundtrack.
Favorite part(s): Shadow the Hedgehog, his levels, character arc, and general mystery surrounding the black and red anti-hero was amazing to me.
Number 3:The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword                                                  Developer and Release year: Nintendo, 2011                                                        What it can be played on: Wii/Wii U virtual console
I have defended this game in so many tweets and irl debates it’s incredible, Skyward Sword released to a 10/10 from IGN (that doesn’t matter to me much but it is an accolade) a 93 Metacritic score, which I do care about since it is an overall score and even got some Game of the Year awards in a year where Skyrim, Portal 2, Minecraft, Mario Galaxy 2, and many more were up for contention, but that proves nothing I just wanted to prove that I have argued about it enough that I know what I’m talking about. The main problem everyone has with this game is the motion controls, they say they are not accurate or don’t work, which can sometimes be true but, Scott Falco (he makes the “”with a side of salt series which he has some very good opinions on) says it the best, he said that he didn’t like it sitting down just waggling the wii remote, you’ve gotta stand up and play, then you fell immersed like YOU are the one doing it and not the wii remote, that is what i agree with and stand by anyway. Now past those criticisms I don’t think there are many more, some people don’t like the story, but to me this game has the BEST story in maybe any game I’ve ever played, the Link and Zelda relationship is better than any other game in my opinion and only Breath of the Wild comes close to that relationship in my opinion, now, the rest of the story is intriguing too, the origin of the master sword (I’m not going to comment on Fi, some people got too annoyed with her to focus on her amazing character arc in my opinion) the existence of Skyloft and the very first Link, Zelda, and Ganon in the form of Demise, all of it was done well and was very interesting to me. I liked the gameplay too, I think the new sprinting and stamina system was revolutionary to the series and made movement a lot more improved from previous entries in the franchise. The final act with the boss battle with Ghirahim and eventually Demise were very cinematic and awesome, and with Zelda’s life on the line during the whole thing it made it just that much more intense.
Favorite part(s): THE STORY, I can not say enough how much I love the story but also I loved the boss battles,  Demise,Ghirahim,The Ancient Automaton, and all of them were fun to me.
Number 2:The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild                                              Developer and Release year: Nintendo, 2017                                                        What it can be played on: Switch/Wii U
This game is a new staple in the Zelda series, the highest selling of all time, a new open world, a Game of the Year winner in almost all the awards shows, and even still people love to pick on this game a little bit, with all the weapon-breaking criticisms, and I know that can get annoying, but it does add a new layer of difficulty to an already difficult game, anyway Breath of the Wild was first known as Zelda for the Wii U, and it was revealed with a trailer at E3 2014 and was slated for release in 2015, of course it got pushed back and with Nintendo now finished with the switch they announced Breath of the Wild as a launch title, March 3rd, 2017 will always be one of my favorite days of all time, as I got my switch and had the first mainline Zelda game release as a fan of the series, and I did NOT stop playing it that night until about 1 AM (thats a rookie number now i mean c’mon I tweeted at 3 AM last night then went ahead and watched a movie) which was super late for me at the time though and I went to bed ecstatic about the game, I had gotten to a part where the story was starting to go forward and I couldn’t wait to finish it, about 6 or 7 days later I did and BOI let me tell ya I loved every second of that week, the gameplay is smooth and fun with combat being re-invented and then the Guardians were really fun because up until the end i didnt know about the shield thing so I would just bash them with all the brute force i had, the final boss fight was incredible (thats a common theme with my favorite Zelda games) and the Dark Beast Ganon fight was really atmospheric and entertaining as well and the ending with the re-uniting of Link and Zelda was so well done and just makes for a perfect ending.
Favorite Part(s): I loved the massive open world and all the secrets and new enemies and shrines to discover, it just made my time playing the game very enjoyable! Plus everything else like the story and the combat.
Number 1:The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker                                                Developer and Release year: Nintendo 2002 JP/2003/ 2013 HD                            What it can be played on: Gamecube/Wii U
The Wind Waker. My unwavering favorite game for who knows how long now, the first Zelda game I ever finished and my introduction to great single player games as a whole really. The Wind Waker released in December in Japan and followed up the next year World Wide, the art style of the cell-shaded characters had never been seen before in a Zelda game and people were skeptical about whether or not it would go down well. Well it released and the people of December in Japan and of March World wide were very pleased with the game and loved it for its gameplay, story, vast ocean and many islands to explore with many hours of gameplay to be put in discovering everything the game had to offer, as for me i wouldnt get to play it for a while longer considering i was VERY young at the time of its release, so I would get to play it when it re-released for the Wii U in 2013, about ten years after the release of the original, I didnt get it though until Christmas of 2015 (or 2014 Im not honestly sure) but it wasnt even my gift, as I’ve said before it was my brother’s and i just watched him play it for a bit and tried it myself after being intrigued, and I dont know if I stopped very much over the course of the time I played it, I was challenged by the puzzles, and from the very opening at Outset Island I loved the art style and loved the characters in the story, with the new unique take on Zelda as Tetra, having Link sailing instead of walking, heck even having Hyrule not even the setting (for most of the game anyway) was new to the series and as my first 3D Zelda game I was captivated by all of it, everything about my favorite franchise now was fresh and new and thats something I’ll never get to experience again which is probably why I remember and still play the Wind Waker which such a fondness today, because of how new everything was to me and how much I enjoyed all of it, not to mention the final boss fight (here we go again) was and is still my favorite, with the world being submerged around you and you and Zelda enclosed with no way out other than through Ganondorf, the games story as always (I hate how repetitive I am) ended very well and to this day it remains one of my favorite stories ever told, and I don’t know if anything will be able to top this game just because of the time in my life in which I got to experience it and with how solid the game as a whole is.
Favorite Part(s): The Wide-open sea and the islands are all so cool and creative, plus the Final boss fight still stands as my favorite to this day.
Thanks a TON for reading through all of this, I had started work on it some time last year and got super busy doing other things during all this time but it really means a ton to me that people would actually care enough to read what I write, or even just skim it,
                                                         Thanks -Ben :)

On Point With: Jayse Vegas
Tumblr media
This cute, smart, talented and humble young singer/songwriter/dancer is coming up in this city, henny! Now is the time to pay attention to Jayse Vegas!
Thotyssey: Jayse hello, thanks for chatting! So, I wanna get right into asking how Night of 1000 Stevies was... you were Honey Davenport’s backup dancer for her number on the Irving Plaza stage! How was it, and what Stevie Nicks song did she do?
Jayse Vegas: She performed "I Can’t Wait.” Everyone there did a Stevie number. It was beautiful, from what we got to see.
How did it go... and more importantly, how did y’all look?
The theme was Garbo! Silver, white, and black color code (if I'm correct). It was a beautiful experience! Honey asked Kareem and I [to dance for her number], who are solo performers more than anything, and it worked out so well. (Even if at one point we were all doing our own thing... #ThreeHoursOfRehearsals)
youtube
It looks pretty slay-worthy from the video! How long have you’ve been a performer now?
I've been a performer before I even knew how to be myself!  I started singing at 8 (although my mom says at the Age of 3, Boyz II Men and the Fugees would tell you otherwise). I've dancing since 11 or 12. My friends and I would always form groups or make up choreo for variety shows and/or celebratory events (weddings/sweet sixteens). Aw! Do you remember your "band names" from those days? Never a band,  never, a team. Just "oh, you need choreography and dancers? Jayson and His friends do that stuff!" Or something like that [laughs]!
Tumblr media
Did you formally study music at all? How would you feel if I said I was never formally trained? That's quite impressive, actually! So music just came naturally to you? Saying "naturally" would make it all sound too easy. But I've definitely learned, and am still learning things by myself. There's a lot that ties into why I never had the experience of formally studying music, from "it's too gay," to "it's not a real career,” to "there isn't money for that.” However, I appreciate this a lot more.
Sure! So what's the evolution of you becoming a known singer in bars like the Ritz? Am I known? I believe I may be in that evolution stage now. Well, you certainly have your fans already!
[Laughs] I don't see that! But, thank you!
Tumblr media
I see it! But let me revise the question: when did you start performing in bars? Ahhhhh, let's see... It all started about three or four years ago... all because of DJ Steve Sidewalk! I had just finished producing my first ever EP, "Take What You Need,” and released it in May of '14. I was 19, and looking for an opportunity to showcase my music more. I had been to Gay College Tuesdays a few times, and by then I felt comfortable enough to ask Steve if I could perform one of my songs, and he said yeah!  It was AMAZING! But those Xs on my hands had to go!
I took the next year and few months out of nightlife, I worked at schools and for my moms event planning services.
And in the fall of 2015, a month before my single “Body” dropped, I was at “Do The Right Thing” [at the Ritz] hosted by Peppermint! I was tricked into a twerking contest, but took that moment to network my ass off. At the end of it, I introduced myself to her, and asked how she felt about a live performer. We exchanged a few emails, and lo and behold Peppermint was the first Queen to book me in HK!
youtube
That fall I performed at The Ritz a few times, some place in Jersey and in XL! After my 21st birthday I released the original cut of "Body!”
In 2016, from releasing my first music video to background dancing for Adriana Trenta at "So You Think You Can Drag.” Brita Filter and Kareem McJagger also gave me the opportunities to host for GLOW at G lounge almost once a month last summer! I made it my mission to be seen a lot.  And now you have arrived! You recorded quite a few songs now, and made some videos. How do you enjoy that whole recording/filming process?  I love every bit of it! I've recorded over 30 songs now. Some available on iTunes, some through SoundCloud. And last year I shot one music video, one fashion film, and a teaser video.  My favorite part of it all is that everything is Made By Me. All my vision, and my work.
youtube
How about songwriting? Is that a difficult task, on any level?
Songwriting is never easy, nor is it ever hard. It's a beautiful form of expression; the more I can relate, the easier it is. But that requires a lot of vulnerability--and that's the tricky part. But you caught me in a lie, songwriting is my absolute favorite part of this all! Words are beautiful, and I love good poetry. Who's your favorite singer? Actually, honestly, too many singers influence me to have an all time favorite. I get a lot of inspiration from Madonna. From Britney, Nicki, and most definitely from Sia.
Tumblr media
So, last time I saw you, Ish Peralta had bodypainted you for an appearance at Miss Lady Liberty. What's, like, the strangest experience you had doing some sort of performance or appearance?
I've gotten slapped with a dildo on stage by a drag queen impersonating Freddy Kruger to Lady Gaga's "Sex Dreams.”
I’m going to leave that right there! So, let's talk about where we can see you in the next few weeks! Well, if you're out and about next week alone, you can see me almost anywhere!
Tuesday, May 16th I'm hosting Code Red at The Electric Room.
Tumblr media
Friday, May 19th, Honey and I are debuting the “Body” remix at Miss Lady Liberty at the Ace Hotel...
Tumblr media
...then heading over to Wonderball at the Hudson Terrace to perform the song again.
Tumblr media
And on May 20th we are premiering the music video at The Monster!
Tumblr media
So, this remix of “Body” is making the rounds! How did Honey get involved? The remix has been a whole year in the making. I debuted the song in October of 2015. Honey saw me perform it at The Ritz, and right after the performance she pulled me and said, "I want to remix this track". But, 2016 was a doozy for the both of us. With so many productions going on for me, and for Honey being Honey (which is “everywhere”), our schedules never lined up. For my 22nd birthday, I performed a song called “Down the Rabbit Hole” at The Ritz. Honey was the host that night, and from that night on her and I spoke about the remix and how it should have been executed.
Anyway, it's now 2017, and we finally have a schedule that intercepts! I went over to her house, she spit me her verse, and the next day we were in studio.
The music video was shot in April. It was two days, two locations! Honey and the production team trusted my entire idea and visual concepts 100 percent, so everything you're going to see, was put together by me. The video is about some douchebag guy who gets tricked into a wild hookup.

Tell us about the song. "Body,” although it has some corny phrases and isn't my best work, means a lot to me. I wrote the song as a big “F U” to everyone who was criticizing my weight (I fought some really bad eating disorders when I was younger). I even started this thing called "The Body Project.” That sounds very intriguing! I'm glad to hear that you overcame this disorder and made something good come out of it. The body shaming in the LGBT community can be especially toxic, can't it? Body shaming in general is very toxic. There are too many molds to be filled. It's quite disappointing. It is horrible in our community though. People think using the word "preference" makes up for their shallowness.
Keep up the good fight!
I'm trying! Let's kick all that in the ass; we have more to worry about than the shapes, colors, and sizes of others.

Now you also have a new single you’re performing, "Stay." Girl, "Stay” has been my favorite part of this year! My good friend Christopher Ambrose produced it. It's an introduction to a new Jayse Vegas. One who's more in tune with himself, and is ready to party just as much as he's ready to love.
I've had the opportunity to perform "Stay” a few times with Egypt. She's a new queen on the block who has been killing it! Sia is the main inspiration behind the song, so for the performance we pay a little homage to her and Maddie. It's top 40 friendly, and a good first single for my upcoming EP. (Also, the artwork was taken by Sidewalk, at The Ritz!) You can catch her on iTunes, Spotify, Tidal, all those places. I love that you love to collaborate!
Artists need to support artists! Talent needs to support talent! That's really the only way we'll get anywhere. I love collaborating; most people don't know how, but it really does enhance versatility in your craft, and it helps build relationships.

And now I hear you’re working on another new single, this time with Kareem and Kimmi Moore. The song with Kareem & Kimmi, IS. TO. GAG. OVER. It was supposed to be a remix, but I'm scrapping the original and making our version the original! It's called “GYL (Give You Life),” and its going to be the summer anthem. It’ll drop sometime around Pride! Everything’s coming up Jayse! Okay, final question: What is something the world may not know yet about Jayse Vegas, but should?
I don't think the world knows anything about Jayse Vegas yet, and I'm not too sure if I want to tell people what to expect [laughs]! Always wise to keep us guessing! Thanks, Jayse!
