𝓘 made my mind long ago, but I still needed more time.
Tumblr media
Love can be such a magical thing, can't it? Falling in love with someone you appreciate, feeling like you're floating when you are near to that person, butterflies in your stomach when you have them near, an electric touch when their hands are on you, your heart beating a hundred per second. . . Okay, sometimes it may be confused with anxiety, but Korra felt that way with you. In a good way! Korra thought love would be easy to handle for her. I mean, she's the avatar! she should be able to do everything, right?
But it was hard for her to understand how it worked. She knew you since her probending days with the team, between Bolin and you were helping her with her earthbending. She realize she was in love with you on one of the practices where Bolin was absent because he felt asleep.
That time alone with you made her realized how much she loved spending time with you, how she felt complete with you near, how her heart raced when she made you laugh and how she adored having your whole attention.
So she thought about talking about it to you.
Three tries. It took her three tries to say what she wanted. The first one was at the Glacier Spirits Festival.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Who are we staring at?” Asami said over her shoulder, scaring the brunette one, making her jump in her place.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “No one!” she was quick to exclaim, but the pale girl looked the way she was and smiled excited when she saw you scolding Bolin for shoving a whole bird in his mouth. “You know, staring at her won't do anything.”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Do what? I don’t know what you're talking about, I don’t want to do anything.” the avatar mumbled, looking away. Asami laugh softly.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Sure you don't.” she smiled, one of her arms passed the brunette's shoulders. “Let's go, I'll take Bolin from her and you can stay and do nothing.” Asami tried to copy her friend's tone while she forced the avatar to walk your way.
When the pair arrived with you, your eyes lit up at the sight of Korra. She was too nervous to notice. “Hey, I need Bolin for a couple of minutes; I brought you another companion in exchange!” the inventor spoke.
Asami shoved Korra to you and was quick to take Bolin by the wrist to take him away with a 'but, my food!' complaint from him. The avatar was quick to straighten after bumping into you, her cheeks were light pink and her smile was nervous. “Hi. . . Uhm, do you want to play the booths?” she asked timidly pointing at one with mini Aangs in it.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I would love to!” you exclaimed and that gave Korra the courage to take you hand and walk to the booth.
The night was great, both of you were having the best time of your lives. Laughing, cheating in the most subtle way possible, eating a bunch of things until your stomach was full. She won a flying bison and a koalaotter plushies while you won a badgermole. At the end of the night, both of you were walking back to the tents where the whole group were staying at.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “You should've seen your face when the ferris wheel stopped at the top!” she had been laughing at you for about five minutes now and you couldn't resist to join her.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I hate heights! Stop making fun of me!” you tried to defend yourself while holding your stomach. It didn't took long to get to the tents. “It was fun, Korra. I had a great night, thank you.”
The southerner smiled fondly at you before nodding. “I had a great night too. . .” both of you stayed quiet while arriving to the doorstep of the tents, but it was a comfortable silence. “Listen, I...”
The sight of your green eyes stopped her words. It was right there, that was the moment, she needed to do it.
Korra took a big breath in.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I want you to have the koalaotter.” she said, cowering at the last second. You smiled big and took the plushie when she extended it.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Thank you!” you exclaimed admiring the plushie while Korra admired you. A moment later you extended the badgermole back at her. “Let's exchange, I want you to have it. I have something from you and you have something from me.” you said blushing hard. She accepted more than grateful and smiled at you.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I'll take good care of it.” she said, getting a small 'I know you will' from you before waving goodbye for the night.
Maybe she had a chance?
The second time was in Zaofu.
After helping prevent the kidnapping of Korra by the Red Lotus, you were the first one to come in once the girl got her mobility back.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “My spirits, Korra!” you exclaimed running to give her a hug which was pretty much reciprocated with a bit of strength from the Avatar. “I'm glad you're okay. I got so scared.”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Me too.” she murmured close to your ear. Seconds that felt like hours, Korra spent in your arms, breathing in your scent while she could feel how fast your own breathing was. “I'm here, don't worry.”
You separated a little bit from the hug to look at her face and smiled fondly at her, she smiled back at you. A clear of throat busted the bubble you both were in. “Go get some rest, kids, we'll be making the questioning at first thing in the morning.” Lin said, both of you looked at her and then at each other.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I'll take her to her bed.” you told them before helping the southern stand up, you made her rest one of her arms on your shoulders and one of yours wrapped around her waist so she could lean on you completely.
The walk to Korra's room was slow, you didn't pressure her to walk faster and she thanked that in silence.
Once at her room you helped her to get in and tuck her in, giving Naga a pet when she got closer to make sure her friend was fine.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I'm going to stay here a little bit if you need anything.” you said, sitting by her side in the bed, she smiled.
She looked for your hand which you took without a problem into yours, leaving caresses on the back of her hand with your thumb. Both of you stayed quiet, your eyes looking at the union of hands and her eyes tracing your silhouette, making sure she got your image printed in her head.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I shouldn't ask you to come here with me. It's dangerous.” she broke the silence surrounding you both, you frowned looking up at her.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Don't be ridiculous, Korra. I know when to agree or decline to things.” you said, a bit annoyed at what you heard.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Yeah, but I put you in danger and–” you interrupted her.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I'm here because I like being with you.” she blinked surprised. “If I can help you, I will. I appreciate you a lot, Korra, you're my friend.”
And at the noun used on her, her whole confession faded away. You looked at her as a friend, she thought. She sighed and nodded. “You need to rest, we have people to question in a couple of hours.” the avatar responded, smiling a little bit. You nodded, standing up and making the attempt to walk out. The hand she had intertwined with yours pulled you back, you looked at her surprise. “Let's do a sleepover, yeah?” she made space on the bed.
You thought about it for a second before smiling and accepting the offer, it took both of you a great amount of three minutes to fall asleep, facing each other, feeling at ease with the presence of the other.
The third time was three years after saying goodbye to her, she was going back to the Southern Water Tribe. She said she needed time to herself, you send her letters everyday, getting letter back every couple of weeks and one day it suddenly stopped.
You didn't thought much of it, maybe she was just preparing everything to come back to the city and you didn't had time either to think about it.
Once you were told Kuvira's plan to attack Zaofu, you went back to the city in a try to help Suyin. After all, she helped you learn how to metalbend and you felt like that was the least you could do.
You arrived a couple of hours before Korra, but didn't cross her way since after talking to Suyin you got to an emergency training taught by the twins to make sure your metalbend was sharp.
After that, you got to sleep since the twins got the best out of you in just hours, missing the reunion with the avatar and got woken up by Wing saying they needed help to take Kuvira from the camp outside Zaofu, and so you did. Then got captured.
On your suit you narrowed your eyes at the silhouettes facing Kuvira. They shot back open in surprise. “Korra!?”
The avatar's heart raced, the feelings she ignored all that time resurfaced when she saw you. Trapped. You were moving desperate to get out of the trap. “Dear spirits, no...” she murmured to herself, the girl stayed in line, she tried not to freak out and attack Kuvira at that moment, she needed to come to an agreement.
The southerner could feel your gaze on her, she was desolate trying to win the fight to get you out of there. To have you in her arms and hold you tight. To tell you how much she missed you.
But the luck wasn't on her side that day and she lost. You watched how the flying bison got away with tears in your eyes, wishing, hoping to get a chance with her.
The next days captured with the Beifongs were... An experience. You were so grateful when you saw Lin, Bolin and Toph appear, you were the second one to get out and helped as much as you could to get out of the factory safe.
You were behind Suyin, Bolin and Zhu Li when they interrupted the president's meeting. When Korra laid eyes on you she was quick to hug you, a strong grip between the both of you.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I'm so glad to see you.” you said in a sigh, it almost felt like a weight fell off your shoulders.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I am too... You have no idea how much I missed you.” she said back, after a while you two took a step back. “I need to tell you something.”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “It will have to wait, we have big problems.” even though you stopped her from talking and made her pay attention to Zhu Li, you took her hand. You needed to feel her touch to make sure it was her and not another dream.
Since the matter was life or death, both of you were able to put on hold the confessions to have your head in the game and survive whatever Kuvira threw at you. Plans were made, groups designated and goodbyes said from one group to another. It felt like the end of something, but everyone was so hopeful for a good ending.
And you were too, but you needed to do something before.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Hey, Korra, I need to talk to you.” you called the southerner, pulling the girl by the hand a little bit farther from the group. “Okay, listen, I've been trying to tell you this for years now, but I just couldn't–”
Your words got caught up in your mouth when you felt the lips of the girl infront of you press into yours. It was a sweet kiss, full of emotions coming from both sides and a bit desperate in the act.
Her lips knew their way around yours, it was almost like you two already knew how to exchange that gesture. Her hands found their way in your waist just as yours rest confidently in her shoulders, she pulled you as close to her as the anatomy would allow.
Once both yours and her lungs where burning in need of air, you pulled away. She rest her forehead in yours, her eyes were still closed for a bit before opening them and stumbling into your gaze. The one she had been loving since you arrived to her life, she smiled.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I love you.” she confessed finally, your cheeks were just as red as hers and you let a light giggle left your mouth. “I love you so much, since you first stomped in my feet at the probending gym.” your face got even more red at the memory. “I'm sorry for disappearing and for not writing you back enough, I just... I needed time to heal.”
You shook your head a bit, reassuring her with a little smile. “It doesn't matter, you are here, you are okay and I couldn't ask for more... I love you too, Korra, I always had.” the avatar could swear her heatbeats were loud enough for everyone on the place to hear them.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Once this is done I want to take you out. You and me alone.” she said before finally taking a step back from you, taking your hand into hers.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Sounds like a date.” you agreed before leaving a small peck in her lips.
And then, the final battle took place.
People were flying here and there. You learned to use the metal wires and took Bolin or Mako up and down when needed, so it was safe to say once the Colossus was defeated and Kuvira arrested you were tired to your bones. There you stood, with the whole group, taking a break.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Alright, excuse me.” Korra said walking to you and hugging you by the waist while giving you a kiss. You could hear gasps, both of surprise and excitement.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “WHAT!?” Bolin screamed with his jaw dropped, Mako had almost a same expression meanwhile Asami, Jinora and Ikki where smiling excited, Ikki was jumping in her place.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I heard we will be going to a wedding.” you said once you both ended the gesture, referring to Zhu Li and Varrick's wedding when Varrick showed off his fiancee's ring while looking for Korra after the portal opened. “Wanna be my plus one?”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Ooh, I would love to.” she giggled before turning to everyone else. “. . .I think we should get out of here.”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “AREN'T YOU GOING TO TELL US HOW DID THIS HAPPENED!?” Bolin continued to scream.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Oh, they will. They have to or I'm going to make them.” Asami said, Mako laughed.
Maybe it was worth it to wait all those years for one of you to take the step, all the yearning and adoration for one to another made the result of that waiting so sweet, just as both of you had been dreaming of.

I get it, live actions aren’t for everybody and that’s totally fine. Not everyone’s gonna like it. But to shit on the stupidest things, or draw the dumbest conclusions??? Blocked. Y’all look dense as fuck. Views will be mixed as they always are, quit clogging up the tags with your negativity and find some chill 😂 The originals are still there to watch or read and enjoy…so go do that…it’s literally on the same app 👏🏻 I’m trying to be understanding I am, but some of y’all are so damn hung up you’re letting it completely destroy something you’d otherwise enjoy
Anyways!! Here’s some of the stuff I loved from the atla live action!
•cinematography, soundtrack, costumes - all on point
•getting to see the airbenders flourishing!!! Also the dude who played Gyatso?! Didn’t think I could love him more!! Even though it was painful as FUCKKKK getting to see the first invasion of the fire benders was an epic masterpiece
•speaking of, the first scene?? With the earthbender soldiers in the fire nation?? Iconic
•Omashu: unpop opinion I’m sure (bc y’all hate change but simultaneously hate when it’s carbon copy????????🤦🏼‍♀️) I loved how they incorporated like 3 or 4 episodes into one, and they flowed really well together. Jet is FOINEEE. Mechanist was perfect & his son is a freaking badass, amazing casting! Even though it was change, the secret tunnel scenes were still really freaking cool and the badgermoles were SICK AS FUCK. Also I love that Bumi was still cooky but not just randomly cooky? Like mans was run down from being king basically the entire war…which FAIR. And it made sense that he was peeved with Aang BECAUSE they were such good friends. Like the other avatars being mad at him? Yea that’s whatever. But for Bumi it was kinda personal. Also CABBAGE MAN WE MISSED YOU 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Oh! And the way they mentioned other episodes like they were lore when Zuko was trying to find Aang? That was an amazing way to tie back to the OG series
•I love how they incorporated the blue spirit, Koh, the fog of lost souls & parts of the ep where sokka and Katara got sick & Aang had to get them frogs - just reimagined it. Oh also Hei Bai! Yea, I loved that whole episode. Koh & Hei Bai were SCARY as fuck, it was awesome!!
•HAHN MY BELOVED…I ADORE YOU! Favorite character that they added/changed. Katara getting the other women involved in the battle?! Tui & La? The oasis?! 😭😭 stunning!!!! I also LOVEDDDDD Aangs avatar spirit that he turned into, literally perfect! And I loved the change that he gave himself over to the spirits wrath..fucking SICK. Also right before aang turned into the spirit/whatever that’s called, I was praying they’d do the line and thEY DIDDDD!!!
•Fire lord Ozai?? 😳😚 nothing needed to be said - perfection
•Kyoshi?! The Kyoshi warriors?! SUKI?! - speechless
•I like that they’re making more of a point to show how smart Sokka is! Mechanist calling him an engineer…I hope they play more into that! Ik they did a bit in the show with the subs (cartoon), but still
•”~hE rAn~” seriously my favorite line, I was DYINGGGG!!! The scenes with Zuko and Iroh, Zuko before the war meeting, the leaves from the vine being in the background at the funeral….ARE YOU FUCKING WITH ME?! Zuko’s crew being the crew he SAVED?! And when they find out they all do the fire nation bows to their prINCE?! 😭😭😭😭
I’m being fair y’all - things I don’t love/hope they change:
•this one I’m 50/50 on - I don’t love that they tried to give Kuruk a reason for disappearing. They tried to pull shit from Korra to make him look meaningful & not useless as an avatar and it didn’t hit for me
•some of the wigs: obviously we won’t see Yue again, but I wanted her hair to be white. I didn’t love the wig but it wouldn’t have been as bad for me if it wasn’t so grey. Also do NOT love Azula, Tylee or Mai’s hair. Ik they look just like the show but whether that’s wigs or their actual hair (I’m clueless) it needs some serious improvement. Azula’s looks great down, I just don’t like how big the side pieces are that frame her face when it’s up.
•Katara, my love, I am PRAYING part of your development is also going to be her becoming more outspoken and badass, bc this season we saw the tiniest of glimpses of it, not a fan (unless it’s a part of her development…she did grow up in a tiny ass tribe so I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt)
• IK they’re going with a much more serious Aang, but pleaseeeee give us some actual moments of him being a kid. We saw that like twice 😭
•Dante is the PERFECT ZUKO, I will hear NO slander. However, I need him to be more of a dick. I’m hoping we’ll get that when he gets super desolate when they’re on the run & then we have Zuko alone & he has his inner battle. I need snarky dickhead Zuko, so you can truly see the big differences between what he’s fighting (himself vs. who his dad wants him to be)
Have fun kids!
In case I haven’t made it clear, idgaf if you disagree. I go so hard for these live actions because it’s fun! It’s just supposed to be fun and different and new. If you get so serious about it you’re ALWAYS going to be disappointed, there’s no way around it bc nothing is ever going to be as good as the original book, the original show, the original tale. OG atla is ALWAYS gonna be the winner, nothing will compare! So sit back ~relax~ and find some joy in the little things

Sometimes I look at pictures of toph from the show when she's 12 and I just realize, "this girl became a mom" and then it's just emotions because then I think about her with a little baby lin or suyin in the house after waiting the better part of the year for them to come and feeding them and rubbing their backs when they cry and cradling them and they'r so small that they fit right into her arms and her patting their little bums when they're still crying and just AH
Hi Anon, thank you for the ask, and your patience!
And I’m with you on that. Knowing that Toph Beifong is a mother of two just hits me right in the feels.
Of course if you’ve been around my blog, you know I’m a fan of Fluffy Beifong Family vibes. So just thinking about Toph learning about the pregnancies and just getting everything prepped and ready for the baby’s arrival. And then when baby Lin is finally here, Toph just gets all protective Mama badgermole. The first few weeks are certainly nerve wracking and she calls Katara all the time, but she loves Lin with every fiber of her being and just—
Toph also loves carrying Lin around in the little baby carrier, and it’s not surprising to see the Chief of Police working and taking Linny to work. (Which, is also a super adorable and emotional thing like Toph being a proud mama and taking her kiddo to work when she has to and the officers low-key admire their chief even more than they currently do).
And then when it’s incoming Su, Toph and Lin grow really close even though both are nervous in their own way about the addition of a little one, but then when Su arrives, they are the Beifong trio and are practically inseparable. In the middle of the night, when Toph is consoling a crying baby Su, Lin will sometimes come into the room to help if she can, or she’ll make her mama tea for when she’s done settling Su. If it’s early in the morning and Toph isn’t working, the three of them will have a day in and just cuddle together on the bed—
I’m also a sucker for Toph in a happy relationship (usually with Kanto nowadays lmao) and so just… the idea that she could have a happy life and family with someone always just makes me :D
Anyway, I won’t ramble too much about how I love Mama Toph and her little badgermoles and everything, and I’m always down to chat about them :)
Thanks again for the ask, Anon, and like I said before, feel free to stop by and send me more asks. Hope you have a great day! :D
……
Send me asks about ATLA, LOK, or anything, really! :D

Maybe I'll do more like this. I don't know. The important thing is that I had fun. I wasn't looking for perfection, perfection doesn't exist.
Edit: And I did more!
[Bolin] [Mako] [Asami]
So, I'll break this down. Any questions that curiosity might spark, feel free to leave a comment or send me a message.
Beartic: I love Beartic for Korra because of course it's the Naga reference.
Basculegion (Male): Looking for pokemon for Korra I wanted to showcase all the elements the Avatar can bend, including sub-skills. I am very proud with Basculegion because its primary type is water and it's secondary type is ghost. Korra learned the waterbeinding sub-skill of spiritbending. And for the purpose of this I connected ghost to spirit.
Blaziken: Korra's fire type pokemon doesn't need a secondary type as she didn't learn any firebending sub-skill Korra using lightning generation and redirection would have been so cool and I wanted to use Charmeleon here. But I actually like Blaziken for Korra because it's secondary type is fighting, which Korra has a lot of. Blaziken also looks like a bird instead of Charmeleon's lizard/reptilian appearance. But I'll explain why I link Korra to a bird instead of a reptile when I get to Ho-Oh.
Stunfisk (Galar): My first option for Korra's ground-steel type (earth-metal) was Excadrill. Badgermoles are the first earthbenders and Exacadrill, well, looks pretty much like a badgermole. Excadrill also looks more imposing than my second option, the Galarian Stunfisk. But then I thought that if I didn't use a lizard or dragon for Korra's fire type, why would I use a mole for her earth-steel type? Also while Korra is very imposing herself, she is quite charming and adorable too. Now look at Stunfisk, Galarian or regular, and tell me it isn't adorable? I dare you. I also think it's perfect that it's fish looking like Basculegion because fish, water, Water Tribe, get it? Please I hope you do.
Urshifu (Rapid Strike Style): This one has to be one of my favorite picks for Korra's pokemon because I think Korra and bears go hand in hand... if Beartic wasn't already obvious. But even more important, Urshifu RSS is a fighting-water type which both fit Korra perfectly. While the Single Strike Style Urshifu is a fighting-dark type. Korra has went through plenty of dark times but she is literally the incarnation of the spirit of light. I honestly think both, the RSS and SSS suit Korra as the diverse fighter that she is. But I'm not associating Korra with dark type anytime soon. There's more to this but if you know about the martial arts that inspire each element in the Avatar universe, it's simple to imagine why Korra gets the 'fluid' fighter.
Ho-Oh: I'll try to keep this as simple as I can. Korra was still missing a very needed flying type representing airbending and I wanted to use Corvisquire for a couple of reasons, mainly that it is the pure flying type I like the most for Korra, but I had to compromise here. As the Avatar Korra gets to have at least one legendary pokemon and Urshifu is already here, but it is not a flying type. Ho-Oh is a fire-flying type and I had quite a few of other secondary flying type options for Korra. But Ho-Oh won because it's colorful plumage and overall appearance reminds me of the beautiful dragon bird spirit Korra helped in the Spirit World.
And this is it. Like I said, this is not perfect and it isn't supposed to be. I am just having fun. If anyone has other ideas for Korra's pokemon team, I'd like to hear it. Maybe you thought of something I also did, some of my discarded ideas.

Suntoph Sunday!
My brains boredom + daydreaming = these Suntoph HC’s
Once he joined the Beifong Metalbending Academy, they became training buddies and spent a lot of time together mostly focusing on Metalbending.
Building on that, they’re both crazy gym freaks and always try to one up each other when they workout together. Usually ending up collapsing in exhaustion. (Sun is the only match for Toph’s stubbornness.)
Sun got Toph 2 pairs of badgermole plushies, just like the ones that taught her Earthbending. She absolutely adores them but she doesn’t tell him that.
They’re both massive spice lovers, they always try to one up each other especially with noodles. (Sun’s fave) Toph puts up a good fight but at the end of the day she’s no match for Sun’s spice tolerance.
Sun cannot handle alcohol. Like whatsoever, he’s a complete lightweight and Toph never misses an opportunity to take the piss out of him for it.

okay so i've watched the live action avatar series twice now and here's my non-spoilery review:
it's far from perfect, but it's not terrible - i went in cautiously optimistic with low expectations... i found myself surprised in both good and bad ways. first few episodes i struggled a bit with the pacing cause it seemed all over the place and not cohesive. after that, it flowed better with the episodes leading up to the northern water tribe.
obviously i didn't like how so much had to be cut out... but trying to fit 20 episodes worth into 8 episodes? that's A LOT of material to cover! i have questions on some scenes i saw because some of it didn't make sense.
i honestly believe that if they were given more number of episodes instead of short 8 ones which is the norm these days - there would've been more scenes to expand on and flow better with the story we know in the original series.
the scenes that did get adapted from the original series? i absolutely loved the little expanded moments in the live action (see episode 6: masks for example).
after watching the live action series, did i love it? eh sort of. but did i enjoy it? absolutely yes. and i genuinely hope there's a season 2 and 3 because i want to see where this goes.
review with spoilers under the cut:
getting the complaints outta the way first here -
BUMI. idk guys but i felt like he wasn't bumi and got replaced by an bitter old man who wanted to fight a literal kid because he had some 100 yr old resentments. (also wasn't it bumi who told aang that the world had changed in 100 yrs and that he needs to defeat the fire lord, but not without his friends???) that's why i legit cannot get over what they've done to bumi in the live action.
i really did not like how the past avatars kept telling a 12 yr old kid to not rely on friends. and what happened to roku being the main guide since he's literally the previous avatar before aang?
i have mixed feelings on the opening scene, idk if showing the attack was necessary. it kinda defeated the impactful moment of aang's return to the southern air temple had with showing how abandoned it was and discovering gyatso's bones.
i really really really hate to say this but... those sukka moments? idk if it was just me but i cringed which made me sad cause I LOVE AND ADORE SUKKA in the original series.
where was haru and jeong jeong? i felt their original episodes were impactful to the story.
i was not expecting the nomads to be there or even the secret tunnel cause that's not introduced until season 2. i enjoyed the nomads but i didn't like the direction they took with the badgermoles.
they should've brought back dee bradley baker. (if don't understand, pls listen to momo)
what is the point of hei-bai if not going to show how aang helps the spirit? instead it sidetracked with koh the face-stealer and the fog of lost souls (wasn't that in korra???) i'm just confused with how all that went.
aang turning down katara's offer of teaching him what she knows of waterbending? i was baffled and confused. also we never see aang waterbend.
gran gran's goodbye and blessing before sokka & katara leave home, where was it? in original series she literally tells them "aang is the avatar. your destinies are intertwined with his"
speaking of gran gran, idk if i liked how they had her tell the tribe that aang is the avatar instead of having him reveal it during the fight with zuko.
NO MARBLE TRICK what a travesty you guys.
now onto the stuff i actually enjoyed -
more aang & gyatso moments! i looooooved seeing more of them
i actually wasn't mad about seeing the mechanist & teo in omashu (and i absolutely loved the actors cast as them)
MY CABBAGES!!!
suki! the kyoshi warriors!
that small mention of the great divide, the pirates, and the village with volcano by the patrons in senlin village
the fact that they had zuko keep a diary lmao
admiral "the moon slayer" zhao
the scarf scene from zuko and katara (i'm dead serious i went into watching the live action with zero shipping preferences but nice to know that i will absolutely lose my shit over the crumbs even 19 yrs later)
speaking of them, their north pole fight!!! (bummed no iconic sun & moon line)
episode 8 masks is my fave you guys - it was a nice blend of "the storm" and "blue spirit" episodes into one and i love how they expanded on zuko & aang talking while waiting out the soldiers.
and don't even get me started on the crew being the 41st *sobs*
not mad about princess yue being able to bend. i actually enjoyed that she could and was more attuned to spiritual matters.
pakku & katara fight!
katara telling pakku to stop being "stuck in old times" and rallying the women waterbenders to help fight.
liked how the waterbending scroll was introduced via gran gran rather than stealing from the pirates.
and lastly, all the zuko & uncle iroh moments!!! they really took it to another level. that scene after lu ten's death? after zuko's banishment "i have everything i need right here on this ship"? their hug and talk at the north pole? legit teared up.

If you could rewrite legend of korra and make it your own(or just in general better) how would you do it? The villains would stay the same and korra and crew are the same(personalities you can definitely tweak a bit. I would definitely not have any love triangles and make korra and asami happen in the beginning) how would you do it with your ships being canon as well?
Okay so I’ve never actually watched LOK. I’ve heard A LOT about it through watching countless video essays on Youtube and reading Tumblr posts about it. I know the who, the what and the how, I just haven’t wanted to watch it because, even though it looks cinematically gorgeous, the story was written by Bry/ke and there’s a LOT of it, worldbuilding and storywise, that I just can’t bare to watch.
So here goes. This got long. Enjoy!
1) Remove the Decopunk world.
A Decopunk world is a world where technology is 1920s-ish, but very advanced. We have cars, tanks, radio, bobs and faux bobs, cloche hats, short skirts, nice suits, etc. I adore Decopunk. The 1920s are one of my favourite eras. An optimistic way of looking at the world, partying, illegal alcohol, the remnants of the Great War... I love it. I really do. But it doesn’t work in the pre-established world of Avatar. It brings elements that are far too imperialistic and colonial in nature (which prompted the comics to be imperialistic and colonial in nature, with the Northern and Southern Water Tribe, you can find many posts about that), which came along hand in hand with the Industrial Revolution, as this article puts it so well. Please read it, it’s awesome.
Why did they feel they had to denature Avatar’s world? They already had everything they could possibly want.
The Fire Nation could be more Steampunk, which is a little less advanced than Decopunk (First Industrial Revolution vs Second Industrial Revolution) because there were elements of Steampunk in the Fire Nation Army (such as the tanks, the navy and the dirigibles). But it could be for them only. It could show us how Zuko transformed the Fire Nation from a war industry to a steam-powered country. This could be the new way to channel firebending (and please, no more “anyone can do lightning bending”, you don’t need lightning bending to get electricity and it makes  Zuko, Iroh, Ozai and Azula weak in the show!).
We’ve seen waterbending used in clever ways in the Northern Water Tribe. How could Katara’s waterbending and Sokka’s engineering influence the Southern Water Tribe to make them use waterbending more? Canals, waterfalls, waterways, etc.? In new and different ways? Could the Southern Water Tribe use hydroelectricity, but in a clean, sustainable way? Why does the Southern Water Tribe port look so... mundane?
The Earth Kingdom already had a working train system in Ba Sing Se. And the postal system in Omashu. Toph could have taught earthbenders how to follow the Badgermoles way and dug tunnels throughout a nation in peace. Then boom. Subways. But instead of machines pushing the people along, you can have benders do it. Instead of messenger hawks, the postal system could run through the entire kingdom instead of just Omashu and be much more efficient. The Earth Kingdom could be praised for its fast postal system that could, maybe, work as telegrams.
I’ll come back to the Air Nomads.
Those are just examples from the top of my head. I don’t mean “never allow technology to “””progress””” (I use that word veeeeery loosely because it has huge imperialistic undertones). I mean instead of trashing the fun parts of bending to make way for Decopunk technology that doesn’t need bending, work with it! Get creative! This worldbuilding feels... too easy. When Avatar: The Last Airbender was praised for its worldbuilding.
I adore Decopunk. I enjoy it far more than Dieselpunk and it’s much less known that Steampunk. But it has no place in the Avatar world.
2) That doesn’t mean “remove Republic City”.
First of all, it should honestly have a better name. It’s kind of like naming a city “Democracy City”. Which is way too on the nose. Harmony City sounds better, and that’s the first thing that came to mind. Anyway.
I really like the idea of a city being built in the spirit of Iroh and the White Lotus. To allow the Four Nations to live together in harmony in one city. But why is Republic City literally New York City with an “““Asian””” flair? What is up with that? I know New York is the MOST Decopunk city ever (you can’t encounter anything Decopunk without seeing New York, with its Art Deco buildings, the Harlem Renaissance, the Prohibition, etc.). But they do NOTHING with it! They just take New York, change some names, add some Asian flair, and call it a day.
I don’t want 1920s New York for Republic City. I want Zootopia.
What happens in a city where all the Four Nations are represented? How does Water, Earth, Fire and Air work together? Big cities tend to be quartered in neighborhoods, so each neighborhood could be a smaller version of their nation. We could have a Northern Water Tribe next to an Earth Kingdom next to... you know what I mean? Each neighborhood could be a small-scale introduction to the nation for Korra first, then you can send her to that nation afterwards!
Which leads us to this.
3) Have Korra follow a traditional Avatar’s journey.
I really don’t know why they decided that Korra would learn three elements before the age of sixteen (when that’s the age Avatars usually START their journeys) and then only have her learn Airbending during the entire show. Wasn’t the structure of each Book being about Aang learning one element at a time a good structure? Why go out of their way to NOT do that? Why was it the White Lotus’ prerogative to train the Avatar in the first place, too?
So let’s have Korra know waterbending first (and show Katara teaching her, please!), then she can learn Earth, Fire and Air. By going to the Earth Kingdom, to the Fire Nation, and to the Air Temples. This could help develop each nation and show us how they have grown through the years. And it could lead Korra and the audience to figure out that there’s not only Aang who has had children to represent the Air Nomads, but there were other Air Nomads who survived the genocide and we can actually see the Air Nomads as a thriving culture.
So about Republic City. As I said, we could keep it. But now that Korra is going on a traditional Avatar journey, you could have, say, one episode at the beginning and one episode at the end of each season taking place in Republic City. To show us how each Nation’s neighborhood works and as an introduction to Korra before she actually takes the plunge to travel to that nation.
Please! Build upon the Avatar world at large more! Come on!
4) Stop it with the love triangles.
Many have talked about the Mako, Korra, Bolin and Asami love triangles. I’ve read once that they don’t exactly feel like friends, they’re only colleagues who share the fact they all dated Korra at one point. Which is sad. Knowing that the Gaang is so beloved because they’re such GOOD FRIENDS first!
So work to build strong, healthy friendships first, THEN start thinking about romance if you have to. And please, if you want a ship to be endgame, don’t have it so you have to confirm it on Twitter.
Don’t.
Oh! And also. Bolin and Eska’s relationship was unhealthy as all hell and treated as “funny” and “comic relief” because a woman was being emotionally abusive to a man. That’s terrible. Please don’t do that.
5) Don’t let Katara fall to the side like she did.
Many, MANY before me have talked about how Katara got the short end of the stick in LOK. Where’s her statue? Where’s her recognition as the Greatest Waterbender in the World? Why is she day in and day out in the healing hut, when she said “I don’t want to heal, I want to FIGHT”? Does she even have a waterbending school? Or is that completely fanon? Why does she allow Aang to take one of their children on life-changing field trips while leaving their other kids behind? Aren’t they also Air Nomads by birth??
It’s okay to worship the old Gaang because, well, we all love them! I do love Aang, even if I give him a hard time a lot, but I love the character. I just don’t like the way Book 3 Aang was written. But some characters shouldn’t have everything while others have nothing. Aang is LITERALLY THE STATUE OF LIBERTY. But where was Katara’s statue? And also, what happened to Suki?? What happened to Mai or Ty Lee, too?? Or even Sokka?? He died some time ago and... that’s it??
Which brings us to this.
6) Zutara, Taang, Sukka and Mailee.
I’ve seen that picture of Toph, Aang, Sokka and Katara being edited with Zuko and Katara next to each other, Toph and Aang next to each other, and a (suddenly alive!) Suki next to Sokka. I think that’s so good! It feels so healthy!
Not all relationships that started when people were kids work out. Sokka and Suki seem the strongest relationship at the end of the show and they’re probably the only ones I could see working out in the end. Sokka could become the Southern Water Tribe Chief and Suki could become his Queen when she’s retired from the Kyoshi Warriors.
Katara and Aang would be lifelong friends, of course they would be, but I don’t really see them lasting. Aang was twelve when they started dating. They’d date a few years, then they’d decide they want other things. That’s a good thing to show kids!
I’ve written many metas about Zutara, but Ambassador then Fire Lady Katara would show a changing world, where the Fire Nation, now no longer a war industry but a Steampunk country, is moving forward, with Zuko literally marrying a woman the Fire Nation tried to wipe out. They would be equals and leave an equal mark upon the world. Together.
Toph and Aang would be amazing together. They’d be a great team, working in the Earth Kindom, helping rebuild the old Temples when the Air Nomads came out of hiding, and bringing peace around the world. I don’t think they’d be a conventional relationship. They’d do their own thing for a while, find each other for a while, work together on some projects, then continue doing their own thing. Aang being the Avatar who travels the world and Toph teaching metalbenders and working with the King in Ba Sing Se and Bumi in Omashu and wherever she’s needed. I think Toph would be much more fulfilled than what we’ve seen of elderly Katara. She doesn’t have Katara’s abandonment issues (I’ve talked about them here) and she’s more independent, I believe.
I know I haven’t talked about them much yet, but I want Mai and Ty Lee together in the end. Badass ladies challenging their respective stereotypes and create a new world for themselves. Mai could find herself away from the Fire Nation court (I don’t know what she’d do, but circuses love people who throw knives, don’t they? She could be a circus performer for a while), and I think Ty Lee, in this version, could work at the circus and with Aang to rebuild the Air Nomads. I love the idea of Ty Lee being a descendant of the Air Nomads.
All of them should be shown creating Zootopia-like Republic City. Because of course they should be! They’re the Gaang!
So yeah, that’s how I would see the world of Avatar grow beyond the borders of the original show! :)

Gender roles are a LIE
Kantoph AU - Lin and Tenzin's wedding.
Kanto: "Toph, our little girl is so pretty...!"
Toph leans into him: "If you say so. She seems happy enough, so I'm good."
Kanto looks down to Toph, his eyes start to water: "Wait, right, you can't see her. No. No no no. That's not fair. You can't see how pretty she is!"
Toph: "Yeah yeah yeah, you know, I'm used to it, remember. Hotshot, did you really forget I'm blind...."
Kanto: "But... it's not faiiiiii~r...."
Toph: "Oh dear... you know... you can describe all the details later. Like you always show me flowers?"
Kanto stops sobbing and looks at Toph with the most serious expression he can muster right now: "....I can try to, but just so you know: There are no words to describe her."
Toph huffs and calls over to Lin: "You hear that badgermole?"
Lin and Tenzin walk over to Kanto and Toph.
Lin: "What's going on...?"
Kanto hugs Lin: "You are so pretty, and your mother can't even see it..."
Lin pats his back and looks to Toph: "Mom...?"
Toph shrugs and grins: "Let him have his 5 minutes, he'll get over it. It's kind of adorable..."
Lin looks over to Tenzin: "Please tell me you won't be like that when our kids marry."
Tenzin: "Yeah well, you are not bli-... wait. Our kids?"
Now Tenzin starts tearing up.
Lin: "Oh no! Not you, too!"
Toph: "I always told you: Gender roles are A LIE. The men cry so much more."
Lin has now Kanto on one shoulder and Tenzin on the other: "At least ours..."
Toph and Lin grin at each other.

I'm thinking about sokka and sokka being a Big Brother, especially towards aang and toph, and I am sobbing,,, found family always gets me emotional djdksk do you have any headcanons at all?
omg yes sokka’s dynamic w aang and toph is so cute bc he gets to be their big bro without any of the inherent animosity that comes from being actual literal siblings, so they never actually get on each others nerves the way sokka and katara do. and the way they’re all so goofy and silly together is so good and cute. i love how they all kinda eschew expected gender norms, which i think is smth sokka and toph bond over especially (i think in terms of bonding over experiences navigating gender it’s like, sokka & toph, aang & suki, katara & zuko. u know?) like meeting sokka rly was toph’s ring of keys moment and that’s (partially) why she looks up to him so much. they both look up to him actually they think he has all the answers but also love to constantly tease and prank and bother him! aang and toph both met sokka and immediately made it his mission to annoy him forever, like it’s just that little sibling instinct to be a fucking pest. i adore them.
i love those scenes in “the western air temple” wherein aang and sokka just carry toph around after her feet get burned without even asking (because toph would never ask, they just know), especially those moments where sokka just picks her up like she weighs nothing and she instinctively curls into his chest it’s so fucking cute i cry... on a similar note i think aang and toph would both insist on sokka giving them piggyback rides, and toph stays tiny her whole life so she never has to give up those piggyback rides, but once aang is actually taller than sokka that endeavor becomes kind of impossible. not that they don’t still try, but.... it does not go well. toph makes sokka carry her whenever she goes to the south pole (which isn’t often, for this very reason) and even though it kills his back he does so without complaint because toph is his little prince and he will carry her until the day he dies!
smth i think about a lot is the time between ozai’s defeat and finding katara and zuko at the palace and getting all the immediate postwar affairs in order, bc we don’t see those moments in between. and we can assume that suki piloted the airship back to the capital (after forcing sokka to go sit down, of course, insisting he was fine despite having just broken his leg) and i like to think that aang and toph and sokka just played roadtrip games all the way back to distract themselves, while ozai raved incoherently on the floor beside them. because, that moment right after aang defeats ozai and sokka and toph and suki come find him and immediately start roasting ozai and cracking jokes is rly so poignant when contrasted with the fact that they all thought they were going to die and the overwhelming relief of having survived and the firelord being taken down (crucially, without aang having to sacrifice his values) and the fact that aang is just so serious so sokka and toph (and suki tries, bless her) immediately taking the wheel and trying to lighten the mood despite the fact that they were embracing their own deaths moments prior.
and then, the excruciatingly long ride back on the airship; all trying to stay calm, keep the mood inappropriately light bc they don’t know how to cope with the alternative, while pretending that they are not losing their minds with worry over katara and zuko’s fates (sokka’s greatest fear is not being able to protect katara from harm and yet he had to watch her go willingly into the belly of the beast, knowing that he couldn’t follow, and yet, if anything happened to her, it wouldn’t be her fault or azula’s fault or zuko’s fault; it would be his because he would be breaking his promise to his dad...) and the comet still blazes around them as they all just sit in a little circle like “i went to the zoo and i saw a flying lemur, a badgermole, ozai’s fugly goatee, a chittering hogmonkey, a flock of sparrowkeets, katara’s hair loopies, a monkeychicken, the boulder, a surprisingly knowledgeable merchant of cabbage, a saber toothed moose lion cub....”

Being Toph’s Older Sister HC’s
Anonymous said:How about a head cannon of being Tophs older sister (young toph)
Tumblr media
- You were very happy when your parents told that soon you'll have a sibling.
- When your little sister was finally born, you notice how everyone was very confused and sad, making you worry that something's wrong.
- Turns out that she's blind, you understood why everyone was confused, but didn't understand why everyone makes it such a tragedy.
- You spend all your free time with Toph, sneaking outside the house and make up games in which you can both play.
- You are a non-bender, but stole a few scrolls with earthbending moves, to teach her when your parents refuse to do that.
- You were worried sick when she disappeared, when she was found, Toph told only you about how badgermoles taught her their earthbending.
- Toph adores you, since you were one of the few people in her life who didn't act like she's terminally ill.
- Tells you about her being the blind bandit, she fights and sometimes when no one looks she shows you her abilities. That makes you a very proud sister, but a very sad daughter, because your parents refuse to see how powerful and skilled is Toph.
- When you met the avatar, who was in search for and earthbender teacher, you were willing to propose Toph, because you could see how good she is.
- When your parents were against the idea that Toph should train the Avatar, you run away with them.
- Being the oldest in the team have its perks, everyone listens to you and asks for advice, but also it's a disadvantage since every enemy thinks that you were the main threat, leaving you with countless bruises and scars.
- Along your journey you learn how to fight, first from Sokka and then from Suki.
- It seems like you and Toph have endless blind jokes.
- When you received a letter from your mother, you decide to meet her with Toph, only to be captured by the people who were sent by your parents.
- You encourage Toph to try and bend the metal, your support and her inner strength help her to move the metal.
- Along with Toph you were for Zuko to teach Aang the firebending, but after he burned your sister you were angry at him (but one time at night Zuko tells you how he gets his facial scar, making you so furious that you were ready to fight the Ozai yourself in that moment).
- You helped Sokka and Suki to fight the air fleet of the fire nation, but at the same time you look over Toph making sure that she's alright.
- After the war you joined the Kyoshi Warriors, training under their leadership.
- You help to restore the world after the war, but despite your endless training and diplomacy meetings, you are still very close to Toph, helping her to found the Beifong Metalbending Academy.
- You have a very close relationship with Toph all your life, always being here for her and Toph constantly grateful for you in her life.

do you prefer airbender wu or earthbender wu?
ooh that’s a tough one anon. I haven’t really read any au’s about that yet (if anyone reading this got fic recs about that, send them my way! ☺️), so I haven’t thought about it that much. I have to say I quite like nonbenders in the avatar universe so I like him like that, but him being an airbender or earthbender would also be really cool. I think I would like him being an airbender, because their lifestyle would contrast so much with what’s he’s used and I think it would be fun seeing him join the other airbenders. On the other hand, I adore the idea of earthbender wu. Especially since he has such a close connection with the badgermoles, maybe he could learn earthbending from them, like toph. So I like both but I’m gonna go with earthbender because of my love for animals.

I just finished reading The Rift for the first time and Satoph is THE PUREST. They totally like each other, it’s so obvious!
Man, I hardcore ship Tokka but then I also like Taang because they’re pure and I love the Kummi theory and air/earth symbolism but now Toph and Satoru are being super cute and I also like making up headcanons about Toph’s relationship with Kanto but then Toph and The Duke would also be kinda cute
HOW IS SHE SO SHIPPABLE
She’s a BABEfong
It’s okay, she deserves the love.
Helloooo.
Hey, think about this: we don't know The Duke's real name... What if... His name... IS KANTO?!
And YES The Rift is the ONLY good comic and that's the hill I'm going to die on. It has the holy trinity of the things I like: Taang, Satoph and BeiFong drama. We later see a little more of the 3 things (minus the drama) in Imbalance but The Rift was funnier.
Also the Taang content in The Rift is FANTASTIC. Aang is willing to evaporate someone (going against his beliefs) to save Toph's life. Wow. I REALLY need taang fics post The Rift.
AND OMG I ALSO ADORE SATOPH SO MUCH. If I have to pick a canon ship for Toph that'd be Satoph!! I love the theory Satoru-is-Suyin's-father (the hair, the same skin and Suyin without knowing it marrying an engineer like him). In canon that always means some tragedy (like he dying) unofficially I just want to believe they grew old together with a happy family. The end. It's what everyone deserves (specially Toph) (I'm still super pissed her canon ending is being isolated in that swamp) (Toph loves to travel, why not saying she hijacked Appa to fly around the world??) (or... you know... A giant Badgermole??) (GiveTophABadgermole2k21)
ALSO another reason I love Satoph: Satoru both regularly fangirls about Toph AND calls her out when he thinks she's being too insensitive or just wrong. And Toph both bullies gim/flirts with him AND lets him see a little of her softer side. Toph. That's love at the first vibration.

I'm just imagining Kenji Beifong demanding to see a real badgermole for his 4th birthday and like, they go to the caves near Gaoling for it. And he's just freaking out and even finds some baby badgermoles to play with and it's the best day of his life, he's very sad to leave. And then years later he gets stuck in the cave on accident and the badgermole that finds him is the baby badgermole (now grown up) and he remembers Kenji and it's like a bro reunion.
And idk I just wanted you to imagine it with me LOL. Maybe I'll write it one day.
But what if every summer when the fam goes to visit Grandma and Grandpa he goes to that cave and visits his badgermole bro? Toph and Aang think it’s adorable so they just let him roam the cave tunnels like whatevs no big deal. (Poppy and Lao do not approve of their parenting style)
And maybe one day he gets corned by some bullies for whatever reason. And the bullies are saying his big sisters aren’t there to defend him now- but what’s this? A fucking badgermole pops out of the ground to defend Kenji and it scars those bullies for life. 😇 (Toph likes to retell this story and maybe embellish it a little)

What type of clothes did Toph wear while she was pregnant with lin and suyin ? Do you think Lin made fun of her mom or was she interested/not interested when she was pregnant and with a big belly ?
Hi Anon, thanks for the ask, and your patience! Love the Mama Toph questions, so feel free to stop by whenever with more (even if I'm not the most consistent Tumblr poster anymore—)
Anyway, let's get started!
I think Toph would go for comfort while pregnant with her kiddos. She would like loose fitting tunics/tops, baggy pants, even dresses in the late stages of the pregnancy. It wasn't often that she wore dresses, but sometimes it was easier just to put on a dress than to put on a shirt and pants with her giant belly. I can also see her wearing belts/sashes that wrap under her stomach for support, especially in the late stages of the pregnancy. During the summer months, she hopes to wear clothes that are airy and light. Winter, she just puts on whatever fits haha!
There have been some fics that I've read where she just bends her metalbending uniform so she can still wear it while pregnant, but I typically stray away from that HC. I like the idea of her going "rogue" with the uniform because she's in charge, so she'll maybe wear the pants, but then just put on a giant longsleeve undershirt and rock that around the precinct. Sometimes she'll wear the forearm guard thingies, maybe the shin guards, but she wouldn't put herself in harms way intentionally while she's pregnant, so she tries not to dress "ready for a fight."
If I push my Kantoph agenda, then I'd say it was Kanto's shirt she steals and wears around (he doesn't mind though because she looks adorable drowning in his shirt). Further pushing the agenda, I think Kanto would most definitely buy outfits for Toph when she's pregnant with incoming Su. He wants Toph and Lin to match, so he'll buy dresses for them, and Kanto's a sweetie about it, so Toph never minds. She also likes it because Lin gets so excited, and Toph can't say no to Lin when she's excited about matching her mama. And of course, Kanto thinks Toph looks beautiful in everything, so really, he's there to try and help find clothes that match and that are most comfortable for her. He knows being pregnant isn't her favorite thing in the world, so he just tries to help in any way he can. Buying clothes is one of those ways lol.
Okay, and regarding Lin seeing Toph's pregnant belly, I don't know if she would make fun of Toph, but she'd have a million questions every day about why her belly is getting so big, where her baby sibling's at, when they're going to be here, etc. I feel like Toph would be the type of mama that would answer Lin's questions (as long as they were age appropriate lmao) and brush them off as if it's nothing big. Like, the sun rises, the birds chirp, badgermoles dig, and Mama's (Toph) gonna have a baby. Just another day in Republic City.
Lin just looks at Toph with wide eyes, thinks of more questions for the next day, and repeat. And usually at night when Lin's all quiet, Toph will take Lin's hand and have her feel the baby move. It's a lil routine they have each night, and often, it sparks more questions from Lin. Of course, Toph answers them, and they just try to enjoy the quiet moments they have while they can.
Okay! I think that's all I have for this ask. Thank you so much once again for the ask, Anon! Love Mama Toph asks, so feel free to stop by with more if you have any. Hope you have a great day! :D
......
Send me asks about ATLA, LOK, or anything, really! :D

Earthdaughter gets nightmares, and Mama Badgermole Toph can always tell even before she wakes up that she’s having one because of the way her heart beats when she’s scared so she always makes sure to go into her room and crawl into her bed and be there to calm her down when she inevitably wakes up with a jolt
I just keep staring at this, willing myself not to slip and write a fic because it's so damn adorable.
Just gonna be over here, still very in my feels, processing Toph holding her daughter until she falls back asleep. She doesn't know lullabies but she hums a few songs she's picked up over the years, and even after her daughter's is sound asleep Toph holds her just a little longer, not ready to let go of the peaceful moment.
