I love all the all the Small Friend-Shaped Animals in @bdslab's poll for best BD character -- they deserve it, they all deserve it!

Pencils from a page of Esteban the Whaler by Matthieu Bonhomme. The quality and quantity of French comics about tall ships is pretty staggering. I spend a lot of time digging these up from the library for reference. (Check Hoopla if your local branch doesn't have physical copies!)

Some of my favorite drawings (most likely) done by Peyo of Johan and Peewit.
This last one in particular makes me very happy, because (from what I read) it's one of the latest drawings of Johan and Peewit from Peyo himself (1981)
Here's the rest of the image:

One of my favourite tropes from bande dessinées is when you take a character who has an extremely slim physique like a typical nerd…
And you put him against a more massive opponent who's a typical jock… And they beat the crap out of them! XD
I find this trope funny for a number reasons. Mainly:
In American media, they nerd guy would get his ass kicked by the jock and they would present it as funny, because "hE's a NeRD hE dEsERvED ThAT beCAusE neRDS aRe aNNoyInG AnD wEAk" and the direction that bande dessinées choose is the exact opposite and comes off as a surprise
Even though it seems unrealistic at first sight, there're actually people who work out their ass but they still don't gain any muscle (despite growing stronger and stronger). This trope enforces in some way the existence of these people.
Or it's just me looking unnecessarily deeply into a childhood media of mine! XD

[ COSMIC TAKEOVER 2022 ] - TIME PERCEPTION
Hello !
This year I participated to the ADHD Cosmic Takeover, for the ADHD Awareness Month.
I'm ADHD too, and got diagnosed only last year. The diagnosis didn't make appear everything (like some folks love to imagine), I was dealing with this without understanding why. And it was truly the worst because I felt it was just because of who I am, that despite all my efforts nothing was changing, nothing was different. And it creates very bad thoughts.
What opened my eyes firstly was all the informations and sharing surround it, specifically from @adhd-alien. Without all of this, I wouldn't have found myself, wouldn't have found my friends or my community and lovers.
And still today, I continue to grow and to try to get out of the mess it can be sometimes thanks to the others and what they share, the support we give to each others as a community, and the help we can sometimes give.
So, here's the only thing I can do, to help someone else to feel heard, understood, not alone: sharing.
If it helped me to draw this, I hope this will for someone else too.
This one is about time perception, and how it affects my relationships amongst the rest. It's a very personal subjects, literally that came out from my mood a day or two before my birthday.
Maybe non-ADHDers (or non-aware ADHDers, or other neuroA people) might relate too, and if that helps you too to have these words down, then I'm glad to have provided them.
Hope you all the best, and see ya for some drawings and creations o/

Probably my last post for 2023. It was fun drawing the same character over and over again throughout the year.
