Sweeney would blink and rats would scuttle...
I'm so glad that the 2023 production of Sweeney Todd has both rekindled and sparked a lot of people's love for Sweeney Todd 😊
I love seeing how each actor interprets Sweeney's character. George Hearn's portrayal of Sweeney from the 1982 stage recording will probably always be my favourite because of how you can also see the Benjamin Barker in his performance. That, and his delivery of "AT LAST, MY ARM IS COMPLETE AGAIN!" is unparalleled. Chills, every time.
Who's your favourite Sweeney Todd??

hazbin hotel proves it’s for the theatre kids not by having a fantastic cast of broadway voice actors, but by giving us more songs that are incredibly catchy but can under no circumstances be sung in public

One of my favorite Danvers solos in English! Yeah, I kept the title, but hopefully the rest is different enough. I changed some things for singability, but mostly this is straightforward. Honestly, I'm even shocked I managed to sing this.
She's Invincible (Sie ergibt sich nicht)
Mrs. Danvers
Orchids are unique and radiant flowers
Sometimes they appear as if they are dead
But then, in the space of a little hour
They bloom again in shades of white and red
They say she’s dead
And the sea is her bed
But they don’t know better:
She’s invincible
She's unbeatable
She’s beyond the power of Death
She’s undefeatable
She’s invincible
And I know
She lives on in shadow
She hears us
She’s near us
She’s invincible
Orchids always were her favorite flowers
Beautiful like her, exotic and fine
And like their mysterious, godlike powers
She can never be destroyed by time
They say she died
And the sea’s where she lies
But they don’t know better:
She’s invincible
She’s unbeatable
She’s beyond the power of Death
She is undefeatable
She’s invincible
And I know
She lives on in shadow
She hears us
She‘s near us
She calls to me and speaks:
How no man could have ever been enough
She was free and proud
Independent, strong, and smart
No man ever could make her give her heart
She could live without
Their kind of love
She’s invincible
She’s unbeatable
She’s beyond the power of Death
She’s undefeatable
She’s invincible
And I know
She lives on in shadow
She hears us
She’s near us
She’s invincible
Undefeatable
She’s invincible
She’s invincible...

19 and 24 for song asks!!
19. Songs that make me think of my siblings (my sister, in my case)
Soooo many. Let's see. "Poetry by Dead Men" by Sara Bareilles made me think of her immediately as soon as I heard it. It just has the Energy, ya know? "Hydroplane" (Prima Queen) is one that she added to our songs about sisters playlist that I quite like. "22" for a tender moment we shared when we went to the Eras Tour together. "Incredible Thoughts" and a lot of other songs off that same soundtrack, for the number of times we listened to it on our road trip across the country last summer. Also, by the same token, "YES MOM," and "something special," and "50 Shade of Pink," all of which she turned me onto around the same time and the last of which is just. Legally about her.
24. Songs that I've performed before and still adore
Mmmm, so many. I have multiple playlists :)
I loved "Waters, Ripple and Flow" so much that I kept my music and gladly paid the lost music fee. This setting of Psalm 100 is still far and away my favorite, and also possibly my favorite Psalm setting ever. Along those same lines, I loved singing Gjeilo's Gloria and still listen to it all the time. Really a lot of Gjeilo, actually; my HS choir director was buddies with him, so we ended up singing a lot of his work. If I'd been a year younger, I'd have gotten to do a concert with him. Also "Weep No More." I love it so so much and it's such a lovely balm to the soul. That's another where I secretly kept the music, only that time I had the good sense to photocopy it before I had to hand it back in. "Zion's Walls," of course. Can't beat Copland. I don't know. For solo stuff, I loved getting to perform "No One Else" from Great Comet a while back. I wore my Tolstoy coat, it was awesome.

TA DA!! ITS FINALLY HERE!! AFTER 3 LONG MONTHS OF WAITING AND COLLABORATING ITS FINALLY HERE
I commissioned my dearest friend @mizooncat to make a short animatic about vines drawn in the style of seussical characters. Well as time went on it got a lil longer each time going from a 2 and a half long animatic to over 5 mins lol. This has been one of my biggest dreams I had hoped to come true in the future and I’m so incredibly proud, happy, grateful, and in debt to mizoon for being the most talented generous and kind loving friend I could ever ask for. You made my dream come true and I’ll always and will always love you forevermore. You are the sweetest human being I’ve ever known and I hope you always know that when i share this with others and they see how incredible of a person you are to me. I’m going to try and repay you for this and make sure you are more than loved and appreciated as you are to me. To you my dearest and most cherished friend. I toast to your accomplishment and may you continue to have many more victories in the future. I love you always and will always be at your side no matter what. I love you
ANYWHO- for those who aren’t him just sit back, relax, and enjoy this very special project from us that features the Seuss cast in many different chaotically wonderful vines! Thanks for watching and have a great day! Yopp!
