He’s not dead no no way i won’t believe it stop omg.

He didn’t have the best path in life sure. He kept falling. he gave up on on atoning after everything just kept going to shit. All he had was himself.

until they found him. They gave him a home… A family. A support and a place where he felt like he belonged.

And he stumbled still, wanting to trust people… wanting to believe that they were like him— someone battered and bruised by the world who just needed a place to fit in.

He was given a chance to start anew, but how can you leave the only people who’ve ever accepted you behind? just betray them outright? He couldn’t, and i could never blame him.

Jin Bubaigawara, you were dealt a shitty hand. Truly. You fought hard until the end.

So uh. That new episode of neverafter huh.

#I never thought I would see a tpk on d20 #but I guess in a campaign like this that’s a lot less forgiving and lvl 1 characters #it was likely #but I’m so sad #although the ending gave me hope #it could mean they’re just gonna start over with new characters but #idk these ones are such strong starts #and red and Gerard’s dream sequences were encouraging to me #but having them all start over is also really cool and will be cool to see #I’m just gonna miss pinnochio and red. they had such good story set ups #and they were so fun to watch #gerard too he’s such a messy bitch I love him so much #and I’m so proud of him for doing a selfless thing #neverafter #dimension 20 #fucking insane #I don’t want to watch the adventuring party yet because it needs to sink in

not to be controversial bc I know this is like…not in line with shifting opinions on fanfic comment culture but if there’s a glaring typo in my work I will NOT be offended by pointing it out. if ao3 fucks up the formatting…I will also not be offended by having this pointed out…

‘looking forward to the next update’ and ‘I hope you update soon!’ are different vibes than a demand, and should be read in good faith because a reader is finding their way to tell you how much they love it. I will not be mad at this.

‘I don’t usually like this ship but this fic made me feel something’ is also incredibly high praise. I’m not going to get mad at this.

even ‘I love this fic but I’m curious about why you made [x] choice’ is just another way a reader is engaging in and putting thought into your work.

I just feel like a lot of authors take any comment that’s not perfectly articulated glowing praise in the exact manner they’re hoping to receive it in bad faith.

fic engagement has been dropping across the board over the last several years, and yes it’s frustrating but it isn’t as though I can’t see how it happens. comment anxiety can be a real thing. the last thing anyone wants to do is offend an author they love, and that means sometimes people default to silence.

idk where I’m going with this I guess aside from saying unless a comment is outright attacking me I’m never going to get mad at it, and I think a lot of authors should feel the same way. ESPECIALLY TYPOS PLZ GOD POINT OUT MY TYPOS.

Not to out myself as someone that’s been on tumblr for too long, but I’m so sad to see this new trend of people saying “I like this thing, even though the show isn’t airing anymore.” Like? That’s how things work! Keep enjoying them! fionna and cake drawings before and after watching the episodes so far. it’s nostalgic and somehow cathartic and poignant and relatable and—it just started

#i’m part of the demographic where i was a kid when adventure time started and now watching fionna and cake as an adult makes me emotional #because did they keep us in mind when writing fionna and her attitude towards life #the dissatisfaction #the hoping for something more #something more magical than this dreary life filled with working to live and living to work #it’s so reflective of how life feels for me and perhaps many of us #and also Simon’s episode was so sad but so well thought out #exploring his feelings after the events of the adventure time finale is something I’m glad we get to see #there were already so many layers to his character in AT but now it feels like we get to dive deeper #I also felt emotional hearing Rebecca Sugar singing and writing a song that encapsulates his feelings so well #😭 it’s been awhile seeing her work exist alongside these characters #and all of these emotions get stronger because I remember AT being the one to inspire me to be a storyboard artist #when I was younger I used to follow many of the board artists here in tumblr and would get so inspired by them #to create simple but powerful boards that can capture the feelings of characters so well #Rebecca Sugar’s songs for the AT characters inspired me so much too #I’m sorry this is long I’m just feeling so many things experiencing all of this again as an adult #my art #fanart #adventure time #fionna and cake #fionna the human #cake the cat #simon petrikov
