SUMMARY: When Philza had fallen for the Goddess of Death, and later agreed to marry her.. Well, it’d be an understatement to say that he had expected things to turn out this way. And when Kristin brought two children and later another to Phil, he hadn’t expected them to become so important in his life. Yet they did. They were his darlings.

When Philza had fallen for the Goddess of Death, and later agreed to marry her.. Well, it’d be an understatement to say that he had expected things to turn out this way.
It had all started out as an average day. The sun shining increasingly bright through the parted curtains. The crows were as annoying as they usually were with their insistent chatter. No clouds in sight. Not a single care needed for the world today. However, this peace would not last long. Not when you had the Goddess of Death knocking on your door at least twice a week.
And as if on cue, a loud knocking resounded at Phil’s door and a voice- “Phillll! Open up!” Letting a light chuckle fall from his lips, Phil approached the door and opened it. A creaking came from the old and oaken door. “Hey Kristi- uh- What is that?” he asked, pointing to what she held in her arms. An excited grin formed on her ebony-tinted lips as she readjusted the bundle, revealing two babies. “They’re our sons!” she exclaimed.
Phil stared in shock, jaw dropped, red-faced. “But.. Um. Kristin.. We uh- never- Wait- Can Gods even-? Nevermind..” Phil stared at the two babies, trying to obscure his flushed face from Kristin’s view. “Hm? Oh.. Oh! No no. I just found them, Phil.” she explained. “You.. You found two random infants on the street..” “Mmhmm.” “And decided it was a good idea to take them..” “Yessss.” “And raise them with a mortal?”
Kristin smiled brightly, “Yes! Now you get it! What should we name them??” Phil slapped a hand to his own face, “Kristin.. You’re a GOD. You’re rarely allowed down here.” “Hmm.. You have a point.. But you can still raise them! And I can visit.” she still wore that soft and warm smile, giving an expectant look at Phil as she looked between him and the two infants in her arms.
God- What was he to do with her? Especially in a predicament like this? It wasn’t like he could say no.. Phil let out a sigh of defeat, “Fine. They’re our sons.” he admitted. “Thank you, Phil! How about you name one and I name the other?” she suggested. “Fine..” Finally, he got a somewhat decent look at the two infants as they both stared blankly, creepily like babies do.
One had fluffy, curly brown hair with matching brown eyes. The other had a similar shade of brown, just lighter with more straight yet wavy hair that was sprouting pink at the roots and light blue eyes. “..Techno, Technoblade for the blue-eyed one.” he decided. “Hmm.. Okay! And then..” Kristin looked down at the other one, “What about Wilbur for him?” “After the pig from Charlotte’s Web?” “Yes.” “Kristin..” “Whaaat? What does ‘Technoblade’ even mean?!” “..Fair point.”
After that day, Phil and Kristin made an agreement of ‘No More On The Spot Children,’ especially after the handful that the twins, Techno and Wilbur, became. Wilbur was a bit spontaneous and mischievous while Techno was mostly calm, unless with Wilbur, which he always was. But it incited some interesting days. Such as the time Wilbur decided he wanted a younger brother…
“Dad!” An 8yr old Wilbur shouted as he entered the livingroom, Techno in toe. Phil turned his attention away from Kristin, who was visiting, and to his two problem children. “Yes, Wil? Do you need something?” “I want a baby brother!” he demanded. “You- I- What?!” Phil sputtered, while Kristin giggled at his misery. “I want a baby brother. I’m sick of Techno,” he decided, pointing to his ‘older’ twin brother.
“Wil.. Do you even know where babies come from?” Kristin asked, smiling gently at the young boy. He paused, then shook his head, before adding- “But don’t feed me that stork stuff. It’s not real.” “Who said the stork isn’t real?” Phil questioned. Wilbur blinked, “Techno.”
Phil sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose, “Wil, you can’t just decide on the spot that you want a brother. Babies don’t poof out of thin air.” “Then how can I get one?” “You have a brother, Wilbur.” Kristin reminded him. Wilbur glared at Techno, “I’m sick of that one. Can I return him?” “Wilbur, I’m older.” “SHUT UP.”
Kristin let out a small giggle, “Why don’t you two go and play outside while your father and I discuss the possibility of a baby brother?” she suggested. Immediately, the young boy’s entire demeanor changed as he excitedly grabbed his brother’s hand and raced out of the house. “I- Kristin!” Phil shouted. “What? Don’t worry! He’s 8, he’ll forget about all of this wanting a brother within an hour.” she told him, seemingly having complete confidence about the situation.
Phil sighed, “I don’t know, Kristin.. Wil can be pretty persistent.” “Mmhm.. And he’s only 8 years old. What’s he gonna do? Find a random baby and announce that it’s his new brother?”
“Muuuum! Daaaad!” Wilbur shouted as, once again just a few hours later, he came racing into the livingroom, Techno in toe. Only this time, it was a little different. “Yes, Wilbur?” Phil questioned, not bothering to look up from the book in his lap. “Can we keep him???” the young boy questioned, with Techno adding- “We’ve already named him Theseus.” in a deadpanned tone. Phil sighed, looking over and expecting to see his son holding another rabid animal he’d found. Only to be left in speechless disbelief that his son was, in fact, not holding another rabid animal.
“Wil.. Wil.” Phil began, “Where the hell did you and Techno find a fucking baby?!” “Outside.” Wilbur answered. “You did not kidnap a baby, no- no, you didn’t.” Phil muttered. “We found him in a box. Thought it was an animal at first.” Techno explained. “And you decided to bring him home?!” The two boys nodded. “Wil, when you said you wanted a brother, I didn’t expect this to happen..” said Phil. “Well.. It’s a lot quicker than waiting for you and Mum to decide, but please? Can we keep him?” Wilbur asked.
Phil sighed, taking the infant from his 8 year old’s hands. The baby was quite small, indicating that he couldn’t be more than two months old with a tuft of golden blonde hair atop his head, and bright blue eyes blinking up at Phil. “..What did you say you wanted to call him?” Phil asked. “Theseus.” Techno answered. “Hm.. How about we call him Tommy for short?” Phil suggested, smiling at two of his problem children.
“Yes! Wilbur and his little brother Tommy, against the world!” Wilbur announced. “What about me?” Techno questioned, staring confused at his twin. Wilbur whipped his head around, glaring, “I thought I made it clear that Tommy is your replacement, because I’m tired of you.”
Phil sighed once more, standing from the couch and walking into his bedroom, still carrying Tommy as he left his other two sons to bicker. Walking over to his dresser, he pulled out a black communication amulet and lightly rubbed the surface. “Kristin?” he spoke. “Yes?” came her voice. “Wilbur did exactly what you said he wasn’t. He found a random baby outside and decided it’d be his brother.” Phil deadpanned. “Wha- Wait. Are you serious?!” she asked, laughter clear in her tone. “They named him Theseus.. Tommy for short.” “OH MY GOD-”
Life certainly became much more interesting after that. Especially with how much more chaotic the Neapolitan Trio (blame Kristin) became as they got older. Especially Wilbur and Tommy. Hell- They later started a nation together out of a drug van when Tommy was 9 and Wilbur was 17.. Phil couldn’t believe it when Techno had told him, until multiple other people told him. But that was a story for another day.
Those boys had been his sons, his darlings. He ended up loving them more than life itself. If only he could’ve properly shown them that, before it was too late.
