i want to make a davejade analysis masterpost but the funniest thing with these asks is that theyre the ones that really prompt me to put my thoughts together in some direction and i ALWAYS find a new implication or connection to talk about. like while i’m writing the connections will just make themselves known. if i made a masterpost i’d have to update it every time i think of something new which defeats the purpose of a masterpost because it’d never be finished. so i just like to spitball into separate posts and just shove them in my davejade tag. i was NOT expecting to get back into homestuck with davejade at the forefront but i can see things now i didnt then

im gonna go off again because it’s so obvious to me on this jumpy scrambled “reread” that dave has a fat fucking heart-on / affection erection for jade. hes tryin soo hard to be cool but hes like this with jade actually behind the screen and she knows it

words and deeds of a court jester dude who totally has a crush on his childhood internet friend and doesnt acknowledge it (btw this is woefully incomplete for the sake of brevity but i could elaborate in another post. i actually have a draft (edit: posted) with a shit ton of more analysis stuff in it on why he acts differently with her than other characters):

the next day (chronologically) when jade messages him:

i mean … it sure is easy to assume how he feels about jade based on the way he talks to her and when his sprite only ever smiles one other time in the entire fucking comic and the reality of that other one was arguable since it was during [S] Karkat: Mental breakdown and its likely karkat was hallucinating it based on the content and context of the flash

nah this one was real. and it was from the first conversation we saw between dave and jade in the comic and thus set the standard for their dynamic. and remember old school 2009 dave was kind of a menace so it says a lot

this girl was special enough to him to warrant that pixel

jade calling dave a “huge baby” for him getting nervous about a piss while she’s his server player. he makes such a big deal about it while shes like oh my god just go:

i know pesterquest isn’t “canon” canon but it passes my character essence check and still contributes something of substance to my argument. like i can say this is not at all out of place if these characters were plopped into these scenarios. remember this takes place on the same day as the above, 4/13/2009. theyre the same age as above and have the same relationship as they did above, just in a different scenario that wasn’t possible in canon wherein they didn’t play sburb

Jade wanders away from that window and toward another one, whose view is exclusively centered on the rolling blue. She presses a hand against the misty pane and sighs. JADE: you know, dave talks a lot about coming to visit me here. i mean, all of my friends do but dave especially JADE: in his usual davey way of course, which means making lots of jokes and not sounding very serious about it JADE: "yeah im itching to put on my safari hat and come traipsing down to doomdeath archipelago to get my ass murdered by infinidog the eldritch retriever," stuff like that JADE: i know he really means it though! he wants to see me, just like i want to see him JADE: but its just wishful thinking

anyway daves reaction to seeing his isolated online friend for the first time irl cry because she has guests. its even better with the character sprites

JADE: we can play with all my toys and jam out to some music and stay up all night chatting with each other and oh my god oh my god youre here youre all here this is really happening!!!!! Jade's next laugh verges on hysterical and she's got tears streaked down her cheeks. Dave looks a little perturbed. DAVE: wow holy shit uh DAVE: its cool jade no need to get so DAVE: like this DAVE: kind of fucks me up seeing you cry DAVE: not that im trying to make this all about me DAVE: i mean uh

and so after mspa reader’s intervention, who do we see with jade the next time we see her?

dave. and hes goofing with her squiddles while grinning

DAVE: okay so lets see what we got here Jade's room is bright and cheery, fresh flowers in the hanging pots, curtains pulled open wide to let in the afternoon sunlight. Jade sits on her bed while Dave paces in front of a line of squiddle toys, carefully assembled in neat ranks. DAVE: this blue one is clearly in charge look at his dominant posture DAVE: also hes the only motherfucker not tentacle deep in his homie DAVE: hes an untangled buddy that is some shit really cuts to the core of like DAVE: DAVE: emotions JADE: its actually because the magnets in him are messed up, and always have been!! DAVE: harley you are ruining the magic come on

basically what im putting together is that dave was REALLY fixin to spend some time with jade. extending into her sphere of interests that he doesnt express much with anyone else; you can tell he really wanted to engage with her in a less irony poisoned way. he’s softer with her than his other friends and god forbid the trolls, he is much less skeptical about things when talking to her (he even questions why he just seems to go along with her eccentric precognitive statements but he doesnt change his attitude about it), he showers her with his music and raps to the point where jade is expectant of getting poetry from him. rap IS poetry. please realize that dave is sending her his poetry, regardless of how goofy it may be. this is the level on which im viewing this at and once you realize this theres no going back. there comes a time in every homestuck’s life where they have to see how dave interacted jade and conclude that he had a cute little puppy crush on her unbeknownst to either of them. and it was adorable. and now, in the year 2023, it’s your time to realize this too. no going back.

and btw it all came back around…………………nimblest son of a bitch who had the gumption to glue a nasty pair of latex cat lips to his face

The Heart of the Scorpion by crystalklances

Lance has a big old crush on the school's Soccer Captain, Keith. He tries to deny having a crush even while their every interaction sends his heart aflutter. Romantic horoscopes and secret love letters? Totally not related to Keith. Luckily, heart and stars align to prove him wrong.

i will fucking miss crystalklances every single day of my life he was a PILLAR. i wish he had kept his account and just abaondoned it but im grateful at least that he only orphaned his fics and didnt delete it. he had so much to write about the college scene and soft klance and them being tender and soft and open about it!! he also often gave keith parents and he almost ALWAYS wrote trans lance like he invented the tag!! crystalklances i miss you and this was one of my favourite fics of yours

2. It's Not Spying If You Don't Call It Spying by @jilliancares

Turns out everyone is spying on Lance and Keith's blossoming relationship.

this is truly so goofy and silly and the team is SO so nosy and they need to be involved in 110% of klance's shit. as they deserve tbh. theyre all so annoying and i support all of their crimes

So, of course, that was when Hunk had said, "You know, it's really good that we're all friends here. I feel like it always gets awkward when two people in a group start dating, you know?" "Well, I don't think we have to worry about that with this group," Pidge had piped up, "I love you all, but there's no way in hell I'd date any of you." Everyone else had murmured their agreement, except for Lance and Keith, who had shared a look before trying to discreetly scoot away from the other. (Or, Lance and Keith decide to date in secret so their relationship doesn't make their teammates uncomfortable. It goes about as well as is to be expected.)

secret relationship you will ALWAYS be famous. its literally my favourite trope idc!! and this arc made SO much sense in terms of a reason for them to be dating in secret!! i loved how the team was the problem but that was very much not their intention but it made sense why klance was afraid and just...this whole fic was cinema truly i love it so so much

4. Of Pidge, Perception, and Prosecution by @erinnovelist

Of all the paladins, Lance knew Pidge was the one he had to watch out for. The only time her guard was down was after she woke up. She didn’t talk, glasses discarded after long hours staring at a screen, and she couldn’t function properly without her daily cup of coffee-equivalent alien juice. Which was why, when he wandered into the kitchen that morning, Lance hadn’t expected Pidge to zero in on him and ask, “When did you and Keith start fucking?”

teehee this one made me giggle its so ridiculous. and yes i did scroll thru the secret relationship tag again idc its so good!! i love the idea of klance thinking theyre so so sneaky and the whole time pidge is like yeah bitch ive been knew yall aint subtle in the slightest

5. Shifting Rock by @ohcontrary

Shiro is back with the team and things are... difficult, but getting easier. But even as he feels more and more like himself, he notices how his relationships have change. It's possible his relationship with Lance is changed irreparably. Luckily, the mission they go on gives them a chance to talk. But on a trip so perilous, they'll need to pay attention-- It isn't just their relationship that's on shaky ground.

lance and shiro NEEDED to talk fr. if ur gonna pretend the later seasons happened then they needed to CHAT. and what better place to chat then mortal peril and the threat of being crushed to death!! holy metaphors!!

i’m always telling everyone who will listen about the Valid Queer Reading of any old port in a storm so i’ve been really enjoying your recent tags! i think it’s so interesting that when the episode starts we see that adrian appears to have the genuine respect of his peers but it def doesnt go both ways, since we also see him unrepentantly spying on them, lmao. columbo’s genuine interest in the thing adrian’s dedicated his life to is definitely what leads to the genuine bond they seem to share by the end, but do you think there’s more to it than that? what do you think it is that makes the two of them click so well?

thanks! i think that part at the beginning is meant to establish just how punctilious and highly respected carsini is at what he does. and like you said that is what ultimately connects the two, the mutual respect for each other's work ethic and dedication to perfection in their life's work.

that quick establishment of mutual respect means that throughout the episode there is, uniquely, almost no animosity between them, save for carsini at the beginning somewhat bristled at columbo's repeated intrusions. but once columbo shows a genuine curiosity about wine, he warms to him very quickly, and instead of bitter spats they have very friendly exchanges; they literally just become Friends. they drink wine together, joke together, explore The Catacombs together. hell, carsini's even glad to be caught(!)--he actually admits he's way more comfortable with the notion of columbo arresting him than he is the notion of having to date his secretary of twelve years. and, of course, he compliments him at the end.

yeah. freedom is getting your crush to handcuff you while giggling and serving you fancy italian dessert wine. we know

the two seem to truly enjoy each other's personalities. columbo gets a kick out of carsini's dry wit and exacting nature, carsini gets a kick out of columbo's...well everything, it seems. even when columbo pretends to close the case and ask him out to dinner (read: A Date, designed to trick him, but still A Date), carsini isn't out there gritting his teeth in an attempt to drive him away. he's genuinely ELATED, he's in a HURRY to get there, he gets MAD when the table is bad and INCENSED when the WINE is bad. he wanted everything about that meal to be sensational. why? not just because he's meticulous, but because that's amore

waiter this dreamy italian hunk was going to bestow upon me a goodnight kiss until you dared serve him this LIQUID FILTH

speaking of which, i think, too, that the initial bit establishing that they're both italian is important as sharing heritage can sometimes very quickly bridge gaps.

especially when actual prejudice against you was the norm not too long ago

most importantly, these two have phenomenal interpersonal chemistry. you ever start talking to someone and find a rhythm with them so easily that you surprise yourself? these guys are just always on the same wavelength. their banter is subtle, funny, and distinct. theyre so nauseatingly in love with each other that every time they trade shiny-eyed smiles it looks like wedding photography.

so yeah, that's why they're so obviously in love that it sickens me. but don't take it from me...

Okay, but the exciting Willow and jasper murder bonding episode:

They all find out what happened with vee and are properly horrified, and that night Willow goes to sneak out of the house to kill him. She has decided that this man is willing to dissect a child alive and he can't be allowed free but he can't be brought to justice of any kind either without endangering vee or the rest of them. She makes the decision that it has to be done and she won't put this on anyone else's conscience and she also doesn't want anyone to stop her. So she's sneaking out when a voice in the darkness stops her like hm, where are you off to? And shes like ACK totally caught. And she doesn't think to ask why jasper is also lingering about fully dressed at three in the morning, but she is brave and deviant and she stands up straight and tells him the truth. She's going to kill Jacob.

Jasper is like hm. Interesting. Well I suppose murder requires adult supervision, how about I tag along. And she's like ?????? But he is not stopping her so she's like uh. Okay. So they're off on their little adventure. They don't know where he lives so they go to the historical society first to track him down and all that fun stuff, and as they're doing all this theyre chatting away. They talk about hunter and jasper promises not to tell him about her crush and she gets all flustered and embarrassed. He shows her some neat plant magic tricks to like pick a lock with a vine. She misses her dads like hell and he's being A Comforting Paternal Figure and he promises her that he's sure they're fighting with everything they've got to make sure they're still there when she gets back, and that even if they don't know where she is they'll never give up hoping she makes it back. It's all very emotional!

And then of course WHAM! we find our guy. They break in and kick his butt and now he's on the ground and Willow has her staff pointed at him and a hard look in the eyes and she's like okay. Do or die moment. Its time to kill him.

Only for dear jasper to interject, like, are you sure you want to do this? And she's like I have to. And he's like you don't have to do anything. You're choosing to. And she's like but it's the right thing to do! And he says it may be the right thing to be done, but that doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. And she hesitates and he tells her that once you kill someone, you're different. It changes you. From that moment on you have to live with the fact you have taken someone's life away, that you have been the arbiter of life and death for someone else. You decided their future held no value, that whatever they might have been, good or bad, is gone forever, because of you, and you can't ever take that back. And she's like I know. I can handle it. And he says he knows she can, but that doesn't mean she has to. It's just as hard to walk away as it is to pull the trigger. They're both decisions. And she has to decide who she wants to be, who she wants other people to know she is, what change she wants to put in her heart. Eventually he talks her down and she backs up and says she doesn't want to be a killer. She wants to see the best in people. She wants to believe people can be good, that people can change. Jacob is cowering on the floor begging for his life and she doesn't want to be the kind of person that kills someone in cold blood like that, even if he deserves it.

Jasper says she's very smart and very brave. He looks down at terrified Jacob and says he won't be a problem anymore, right? He knows that if he ever hurts anyone again that there won't be any mercy this time, right? So he's going to be good. And Jacob nods rapidly and says yup uh huh I've turned over a new leaf I am going to be soooo good and jasper says and you're also going to pack a bag, get on a train and never come back to graves field, right? And Jacob is like Yup uh huh whatever you say scary man. And Willow is like visibly relieved because The Adult Is Handling It and he tells her to go home and get back to bed before anyone notices she's gone. He will make sure Jacob leaves town. And she's like okay. Thank you. And she leaves.

And Jacob is sitting up like haha okay. Um. Thanks for that, I-- only for jasper to immediately shoves him back down with a boot to the chest like if you really thought that you could put a little girl in a cage and that I would let you live then you are more stupid than you look. Willow is a good person and she hasn't had to live in a world where she has to sacrifice her innocence for her safety or the safety of those around her. Unfortunately for you, that is not the world I have lived in. A little more blood on my hands won't change me a bit. And we just see the terrified realization on Jacobs face before we cut away with a scream. Dun dun dun.

We fade back in to the hustle and bustle of the Noceda household in the morning, Luz getting ready for school, vee making breakfast, Camila getting ready for work, all the kids laughing and yelling. Jasper walks in and yawns talking about what a good morning run that was, and Willow gives him a grateful smile before she notices like. A splatter of blood on his shoes he missed cleaning up. And you just see her frown like... Not quite sure if that means what she thinks it means, before hunter is like hey, Willow, are you okay? And she's just back to her sunny disposition like pfft! Of course! Now hand me the maple syrup dummy stop hogging it all! Jasper just ruffles vee's hair as he steps past her to grab a box of Cheerios and like. Willow knows. But she's not going to say a word. Cut away to the outside of the house and then cut to black. Ba ba BAHHHH

yeah, like what of close connections between the actor and THEIR CHARACTER’S fictional beloved? 

I love the idea of Noah harbouring a soft spot for Mike - how could he not, knowing what that character means to his Will? And likewise, how Finn interprets Will, the sympathy and respect he would have for him. This is how actors are able to get lost in their character and become them, and feel the trust to lose theirselves while performing and trust they are safe with their scene partner who hopefully is also just… gone in the moment. You both are and aren’t your character; it’s physically you, but not psychologically. This is the paradox of acting and it’s quite understandable that many outside the business wouldn’t be able to wrap their head around two opposite things existing at once!

there's been stuff in press (though vague) about this, like that buzz quiz where finn got will and noah got mike as who theyre most like. just a silly quiz but still it was interesting

considering the age of the stranger things younger cast, they are cornerstones of each others formative years, and Noah especially (as far as we know) seems to have connected to Will and been able to self-actualise partly due to playing that role. It is one that will undoubtedly remain important for the rest of his life. It also means that the character of Mike is surely very influential for him. It’s even possible that his first ever kiss with a boy, with someone of his preferred gender, will have been on set while acting. This isn’t all too uncommon for young actors - see Finn and Millie in the same show - but for someone who was on a journey of self-realisation and sexuality, it’s very important indeed. 

And of course we do not know about Finn seeing as he hasn’t, and may never, label himself, as is his right. 

but i for one would love an in depth behind the scenes or documentary (or reunion documentary can you imagine! when theyre older and more secure about everything) talking about the experience.

so i guess my question was that i'd like to see polls/answers about whether people think noah and finn respectively might have little crushes or soft spots on each other's character.

regemption is the story ive been working on for several years (it turns 5 this june, which is scary to think about!) using a bastardised aesthetisised pop culture interpretation of christian mythology to talk about a lot of things, like morality and the concept of purity. i want to make it a webcomic some day, and it will be split into 5 "books", and an intermission story spread throughout

book 1: current title "heart and soul": follows jonah calinao, a 23 y/o depressed deadbeat who suffers a heart attack and goes to hell. somehow, they bounce back, because modern medicine is amazing, but this is the first time a human has ever seen the stony deep before being revived. satan (mostly referred to as "boss") sends one of her lackeys to "take care of them" and bring them back and thus maintain the natural order. she picks jade (representative of envy, middle of the road when it comes to sinners) who, upon seeing earth for the first time, isnt exactly that keen on going back. so jade makes a deal with jonah: she wont kill them if they at least TRY and get their shit together. which is a pretty cushy deal, all things considered! except jades situationship from hell (in the most literal context) isnt happy that her best-friend-slash-longtime-crush is mingling with the humans. especially when zircon decides that jade and jonah have gotten pretty close 🤔

book 2: "blood and bone": follows isaac bonner, a 25 y/o rich kid dissatisfied with life. when his on-again-off-again (mostly off) girlfriend dies, he considers ending it all, but is interrupted by what he considers divine intervention. it is, of course, from the other place. bloodstone convinces him that killing himself would be such a waste, he should just hand over his soul instead, and let someone with a will to go on take the wheel. initially unconvinced, she shows him all of her plans, why shes on earth and what she plans to do, and it might just be the adrenaline rush he needs to keep on living

book 3: "hope and pray": follows mary santoro, 24 y/o, jonahs ex-roommate (roommate through the first half of book 1. dont worry about it), nicest person youll ever meet. shes always had a passion for music, but passion rarely pays the bills, which she has a lot of. during one of her many dayjobs, she meets a few very odd individuals who are, for some reason, adamant that she has to join their band. even though its not the type of music she likes, they wear her down, and she agrees to at least check em out, but she soon realises that theyre not human, but they need her help. and one thing about mary is she can never turn someone down, no matter how much she wants to

book 4: "flesh and blood": follows jacob bonner (isaacs younger brother) and his best friend levi abraham as they uncover just what isaac had gotten up to the past few months. and why their cellar is suddenly locked up tight, with no key in sight. or why jacob frequently wakes up to screaming, only sometimes his own. or why their "new friend" looks so familiar, and whether levis right not to trust her

book 5: "survive and thrive": everything comes together. the culmination of the previous four books, with an epilogue to deal with anything that wasnt tied up in a neat little bow

intermissions: follow ruby and zebra jasper as they seek violent, glittery revenge on the one who wronged them, aided by pyrite, who jasper just cant seem to convince ruby is bad news

alexandrite is a minor character in book 1 (even though demons dont have families the way we do, alex and jade consider themselves as close to sisters as they can get), a supporting character in book 2, and should be a major character in book 5.

You know what's a scenario I need? Priscilla introducing Anastasia as her girlfriend to Vincent and Arakiya. The sibling-in-law dynamics would be great.

I think Vincent would be quick to accept Ana into the family. He can see Ana is a skilled woman, so he'd respect her. Maybe there'd be a bit of wariness from him, because that's how he is, but even so, he knows Priscilla is smart, and if his little sister chose Ana, then surely he can trust her. Ana could take a liking to him as well; she'd definitely have fun teasing him. Plus, Ana calling Vincent "our brother" when talking to Priscilla would be cute.

As for Arakiya, perhaps she'd initially be a bit jealous of Ana. I think Ana would make attempts to approach Arakiya nonetheless, and even though Arakiya isn't very talkative, Ana, thanks to her natural skill with words, could find a way to interact with Arakiya that doesn't make the latter uncomfortable. And, feeling validated by this and also impressed by Ana's finesse overall, Arakiya could warm up to her.

Pris is almost definitely the type to brag about having a partner, if not to goad others and observe their reaction. I can see her using her relationship with Ana to torment an emotionally repressed Vincent whos still trying to beat all the thoughts of Chisha. Like “you couldnt kill me and you couldnt even beat me at getting into a relationship. and youre the emperor? lol. Lmao even.”

And 10000% I think you hit the nail on the head with Vincent in that he’d be wary, probably coming up with a bunch of escape plans for Pris if she somehow gets on the wrong side of the Iron Fang (or if he knew about Ana’s connection to Halibel), but would eventually warm up as she’s got that easygoing, business mentality that he can respect. I think he’d find it just as entertaining as Pris does when Ana backtalks them and slyly insults them.

Ana calling Vincent “our brother”,,,, thats so precious omg. Pris mocking her habits of collecting people and being a conniving fox while Ana’s like “I’m a greedy gal, course I’d monopolise my future wife’s family too. I aint exactly got one of my own.” and one hit KOing Pris.

god speaking of foxes I gotta wonder just how funny it’d be to Ana that Pris’ mother is a fox demihuman. Like theyre both fox women in a certain sense, even if Pris dismisses her whenever its brought up.

Arakiya is a difficult one because (at least current canon anya) shes very, very obsessed with Pris. That whole line of her being willing to dismember Pris just to keep her on the throne haunts me. So I imagine if she found out about Ana, she’d be furious at first. Pris has picked someone weak who cant protect her (abandoned Arakiya when she couldnt do the same, one of her biggest regrets) and Pris has actively picked someone as far removed from Vollachia as they come.

But I do think with time and character development, Arakiya would soften up a lot. Ana can’t protect her directly in the way Arakiya wants, but she has dozens of people capable of doing so for her. She’s good at negotiating, and eventually I imagine Arakiya will have to contend with the fact Pris is strong enough on her own. It’d take a long time for Arakiya to acknowledge Ana as worthy for the Princess, but I like to imagine her and Cecilus going to Kararagi for (his) clothes shopping and Ana tagging along to get to know Anya better.

Oh, oh and I cant forget how juicy the whole “Ana is on borrowed time” thing would be as a reveal to her inlaws. Pre them getting along I can see it be a huge reason for Vincent and Arakiya to oppose the relationship on account of their protectiveness of Pris. But after theyve got positive opinions of Ana? It’d be devastating. Poor Vincent reliving what happened with Chisha, expecting the reveal to crush Pris, while Pris insists on her world working in her favour mindset. Arakiya remembering Prisca’s reaction years back would cause her to really, really panic. She’s just gotten the princess back—would her partners untimely death break her worldview once more, or is there anything Arakiya can do to finally make it up to her?

I saw in the tags on one of your posts that people often mistake Viserys' cowardice for stupidity, and I AGREE.

1) It's so funny to me how Viserys openly talks about being afraid of hard conversations with his daughter. I'm sure it's a common joke amongst fathers given the time and place, but Viserys is really not joking. But in reality, when he does take the time to explain his thinking and be transparent with her, she's quite amenable to what he's saying. It's a vicious cycle of hiding things from Rhaenyra, discussing things with everyone BUT Rhaenyra, blindsiding Rhaenyra, and then provoking the very reaction he was trying to prevent. And he literally NEVER gets it!!!! She literally just wants a heads up, especially when it concerns life-altering decisions about her own life. She just wants to be asked for her opinion, even if the answer is no, just ASK.

2) I believe part of his reason (HOTD), in many different ways, for choosing Alicent is cowardice. He feels bullied by Corlys. He feels their offer to join their houses is almost an indictment of his legitimacy. But instead of privately declining the offer, he publicly slights his daughter. That was petty, Viserys.

Also! That "proud men don't like looking up" conversation with Lyonel was Viserys flirting, and you can't tell me Lyonel wasn't picking up the vibe.

3) It's kinda sad to me how most of Viserys' physical affection just...isn't returned. Except for Aemma, it's like 60/40 chance that a gesture is gonna be returned. Thinking mostly of the scene after Joffrey's birth where Viserys has white knuckle grip on Rhaenyra's hand, and she's just kind of holding it there in a limp fist. He even has to shake her arm a little to get her attention back. Also, it took six episodes to get a hug from the two of them???? And I don't think it's a mistake that Viserys is most affectionate with her when she's so explicitly maternal, right down to wearing her mother's Arryn colors.

yeah!! like viserys isnt stupid, he knows that theres some fighting there. i think he just underestimates how bad it is? just assumes its childhood rivalries that theyll grow out of? and thats why he makes his kids and grandkids kids start training together, hoping thatll fix it and doesnt ever address the actual problem that their mothers hate each other. (f&b goes more into this, but its mostly cut from the show… :/)

YES. i think its a lot of overthinking on viserys part, like worried that by saying this thing or that thing, hell upset rhaenyra. so he doesnt tell her anything, but THATS the thing that upsets her! you can even see in ep 2? when he talks to her about having to remarry, how grateful she is for him to just open up to her! she just wants to know whats going on dummy!

but then again, when theyre having dinner (in i think the same episode?) he tells her they should be able to be open with each other, say whatevers on their mind and rhaenyra responds by saying hes the king and can say whatever he likes, viserys looks almost… upset by that. and otto in ep3 telling him that rhaenyra will do as he commands, and viserys says he doesnt want to command her. i think the very idea of having an open and honest relationship with your children, especially as a father to daughter, is not.. all that common for that time? even more that hes not just rhaenyras father but also her King, complicates it more. (and this is maybe part of where the emotional incest comes from too?)

2. it definitely feels like viserys is threatened, or atleast intimidated by corlys? i have my own little headcanon that as kids viserys had a crush on rhaenys. he always assumed they would be the ones getting married, until she goes off and married corlys instead and that sorta started the animosity between them. corlys dislikes viserys as well, sees him as this soft, weak man unworthy of the crown AND his wifes usurper. theyre only barely tolerating each other for rhaenys sake. but that aside, i agree i think viserys saw the marriage offer to laena as a slight to him. like as a way to ‘fix’ the ‘mistake’ of the council of 101, saying more about viserys own lack of self esteem than anything else. laena was also like, 12 at that point right? i think seeing her all dressed up like that reminded him of aemma, who he married at 11, and he was hit with a wave of ‘oh gods i cant do this again’ so he ran and tripped and fell in the opposite direction.

2.5 IT WAS ABSOLUTELY FLIRTING YES. im so glad someone else sees the lyonel x viserys agenda. viserys calling lyonel in, alone, telling him to keep sitting. who do u think i should marry 🥺👉👈. he wanted lyonel to say himself… the way he kept pacing around, leaning on the table, over the chair. he was nervous infront of his crush!

3. ive been going through getting screenshots of hotd lately and it absolutely killed me how aemma and viserys were always holding hands, playing with each others fingers… i hadnt noticed it until you pointed it out but yeah… after she dies he doesnt really have that physical affection with anyone else. i think like, its maybe daemon? as the only other person we see him interact with like that? is that really the only time we see viserys and rhaenyra hug im gonna do something crazy….. but ALSO have to agree i dont think its a mistake! he was absolutely seeing the ghost of aemma there

when i first entered the pjo fandom i was like.. what? 10 i think? and i found myself in nicos character. i related to him ALOT. i then found out about solangelo and thought it was the cutest shit ever. i reread every piece of media with them. i came up with headcanons. i had a whole ass phase where i was "in love" with will solace. now i realise that i found myself in nico, and seeing him in what seemed to be a happy relationship made me really really happy. now, ive grown. ive reread the series. i KNOW how solangelo is potrayed. sometimes i reblog anti solangelo takes that i agree with, other times solangelo content. its FINE.

now let me explain why i dont like jasico. jason is the first person that nico actually starts becoming friends with, and i find their friendship very sweet. when people tend to turn platonic dynamics into romantic ones it irks me alot. (my same issue with nipollo, even though thats already weird) nico should be able to have friends without constantly being shipped.

i dont like percico because of the obvious age gap, and the fact that nico developing a crush on percy was a major plot point to his arc. it makes his feelings complicated because nicos confused about how he feels about percy. he doesnt know whether to love or hate him, since, well, bianca's death.

i dont like solangelo either, because obviously, its disgusting the way will acts like hes nicos 'savior'. however, will's technically not really his healer. when it comes to mental health and such, will urges nico to talk to dionysos about it. sooooo... u cant really say they have the patient/healer trope, even though in fanon and fanfics it may seem that way

alot of other posts that I REBLOGGED explain this in further detail, if you want me to link some of them, ill go ahead and do that for you. but you shouldnt be asking me to justify why i reblog solangelo shit.

Ok time has passed so now I rant because I've processed. It burns me so much that they were friends! All the pictures at the end of Ayngels stream just showing off moments of them just goofing off hits so hard because they've been isolated together for so long and they had good moments together, its not been all pain and despair. Rasbi and Apo would watch Owen teach people to shoot, they threw snowballs at each other, the angst might leave a big impact but those little moments of happiness are what have kept all of the Outsiders going. The moments of laughter and happiness with each other has kept them sane in the clearing and now all those happy times are just bitter sweet memories.

Do they think about it sometimes now that things are so complicated?

Does Krow miss being able to talk with Bek? To laugh at her jokes or clap half heartedly at her performances? Can it think of Ayngel knowing it left her behind on that tree, it didnt even say goodbye. It's regressed back to who it was out of anger and a want to survive but in the back of it's mind does it still think about Tasia and Percy? Does it remember playing tag with Ayngel and Magic? Does it refuse to remember because a Dragonborn is above such things? Does a tiny little part of it hold those memories, locked in a little box of happy things it won't acknowledge but refuses to fully forget?

Will Gracie ever be able to think about sitting by the campfire with Owen without feeling sick about how he hurt so many people while she could do nothing to stop him, could she have stopped him if she didnt get injured. She and Spidey are the last of their clearing and how can she think of all those happy moments with them, without being crushed by their loss. Her memories of all of them cut off so sharply. She missed months of their lives and their deaths and now she carries all of their memories with her. All these people who were her only company for so long, her responsibility as theyre leader, and all she has left of all but one of her original clearing is the memories that haunt her.

When Reddons is alone in the maze, like he's been for so long Apo never came back to visit but at least he knows why now, does he remember moosus and the cow religion he formed? Does he think back fondly on jumping out from behind the stage at the elections covered in diamonds, wanting to impress and shock them. Does he think about the friends he never sees or speaks to anymore, ever regret not staying. Just for a little longer for a few more happy moments. Or does he drown all those memories in booze?

When Owen was killing Apo did he think about long days hanging out by they're little pond learning to fish? Did he remember afternoon's spent baking with Rasbi? Does he remember Guts wanting him not to see her as a liar because she respected him? When he was fighting Krow did he remember the convo they had where he said he didn't kill people?

Do they selfishly wish they had just stayed in the clearing? It's not the real world, not really home but at least they didn't feel so alone back then. Has it been worth it to them? Will they be any happier outsider of these walls, without the friends they once had?

listing the plushies i have with me and why theyre my f/os to make myself feel a bit better

starting with callie; ive had her longest, i got her just about a week and a half after getting into the splatoon fandom (i got into splatoon a day before splatoon 3 release, getting the game itself a week later). shes super energetic, but cares for everyone around her and knows when to turn it down a notch. shes also really cute and her aesthetic of pink is visually pleasing. her voice is a huge comfort for me, it reminds me of my old friends and just makes me feel safe. i see her as a lover, of course.

next is pearl. i got pearl yesterday for christmas, but ive been wanting her for a few months. i love her sassiness, and how she seems almost protective in that sense. she seems like the type to use that sassiness to stand up for loved ones. she (along with marina) seem very motherly in my eyes. i love her confidence, she probably reminds her friends and family to love themselves and never let anyone knock them down. shes definitely a mother to me.

up next we have marie. i also got her yesterday. marie's been through a lot(i.e temporarily losing her cousin, still having to take care of her idol career, and having had to help save the world in multiple manners), putting it simply. because of this shes a very understanding person, and would always let whoever vent to her. she would comfort them with hugs and holding their hand, essentially whatever would make them feel loved and cared for. shes like an older sister to me.

next is riddle (riddle rosehearts). yet another plush i got yesterday. riddle has a background very similar to me; being pressured to do exactly what his parents say in fear of even worse pain to come. and because of that he's a perfectionist, and is obsessed with looking good to others despite constantly breaking down inside. he knows my pain; he knows anxieties, troubles, fears. we're very close because of this. he's my best friend who i may or may not have a crush on.

finally we have idia, also got him yesterday. idia has EXTREME anxieties, especially social anxiety. he almost NEVER leaves his room in fear of others judging him. but there are times he can be pretty talkative, most finding it strange how he can go from silent to being one of the loudest in the room. he's also got plenty of hyperfixations he contributes to in his daily life. but when hes not talking about something he loves or isnt doing something to distract himself, he can even go nonverbal and not say anything at all. sometimes he uses his tablet to communicate clearer, like how sometimes i simply write my friends notes or will text them on discord despite them sitting right next to me. idia is an older brother to me.

yeah i feel a little better now that i got to explain stuff about my plushies, and yes i did get these specific character plushies because theyre my f/os. along with my new riddle plush i got a riddle pin and a riddle nendoroid (if you cant tell i absolutely love riddle). and then of course ive got my callie and pearl plushies AND amiibos. im gonna go keep listening to music now, gonna tag this under my vent tag in case it upsets anyone in any way.

You were always fond of yoongi, ever since debut. The others noticed he was your favourite but didnt think much of it. For The past few months, you felt different about yoongi. You hadn't thought of yoongi in a romantic way before. Sometimes jin and taehyung teased you for blushing when someone mentioned him. You were a hopeless romantic.

One night, at around 12am, the others decided that they should have a movie night. Nothing unusual , right? When everyone sat down , you sat next to yoongi. About half way through the movie, you started to drift off to sleep. You rested your head on yoongis shoulder, which was a pretty bold move..well to you anyways. You felt your face turn bright red as he covered you with a blanket. You were so in love. It was hard for you to stay awake but you wanted to watch the rest of the movie. "You can sleep if you want to , nobodys stopping you aha" yoongi whispered , trying not to be loud. His voice was so attractive , you got butterflies everytime he spoke. After about 10 minutes , you were fast asleep. And of course taehyung and hobi found it hilarious and decided to take a picture of you asleep. By now yoongi was half asleep too,it was surprising he even stayed up this late. He covered himself with the blanket too and rested his head on yours. After the movie, you and yoongi were still asleep on the sofa but everyone else went to bed.

The next morning, you woke up and realized that you had fallen asleep next to yoongi. After 20 minutes, yoongi woke up and saw you next to him. He thought you looked adorable but didnt say anything. "Good morning" you said while rubbing your eye. "Morning." Yoongi replied , smiling a little. You both got up and went to the room to get changed and freshen up. After you both got dressed you left the room and went to get breakfast. Taehyung saw you both walk in , "Hey lovebirds" He said in a teasing way. "Shut up" yoongi said, obviously annoyed. Jungkook was making pancakes, not your favourite breakfast food but theyre not the worst. "Hey , you guys want some pancakes?" Jungkook asked. You and yoongi both nodded. You sat down at the breakfast bar and talked for a little till the pancakes are done. 10 minutes later, jungkook served everyone. You got up to get a drink and asked if yoongi wanted one and jimin,jin and taehyung laughed. You were pretty sure that they knew you had a crush on yoongi but its fine aslong as he didnt find out.

After breakfast, you went into your room and grabbed your diary. You hadn't wrote anything in it for a while but you felt like you had to, having a crush is tiring. You grabbed a pen and started writing. You wrote about how attractive yoongi is and..other things about yoongi. You wrote about yoongi for almost 30minutes, you were so in love with him.

Jin called you into his room to help him with work so you left your diary on your bed , opened. You helped jin for a while and then went back to your room. You looked on your bed and your diary wasnt there. Someone had found it. And probably read it! You wanted to cry. It wouldve been 10 times worse if yoongi found it .. You wouldve seemed like a stalker or something.. You decided to just forget about it and went to do some work. Later in the day yoongi was going out of town for some important work, you didnt really know what it was about. You were a little sad about it though,you werent used to him being away, even if it was only a few days. He said he would facetime you while hes away, which made you feel better.

It was now 6pm and yoongi was packing his bag, you went to go ask him if he needed any help but really it was an just excuse to talk to him. He said no but you stil stayed in the room with him, because you were gonna miss him when he was gone. "You okay?" Yoongi asked, confused. "Oh im fine,why?" You responded while looking at your phone. "You dont have to stay in here you know, i dont need any help" he said while shoving a few chargers into his suitcase. "I know but.." you mumbled. "But what?" Asked yoongi. "But uhm ill..ill miss you or whatever" you said quietly while covering your face. "I said we can face time,plus ill only be gone for a few days" yoongi replied while blushing a little. "I know.." you muttered under your breath. Yoongi packed a few more things and he was ready. It was 6:30pm and he had to leave at 6:35pm. You and him talked while he waited on the couch for his uber to come. Everyone was in the lounge as everyone finished their work for the day. It was 6:34pm so yoongi stood up to leave, you stood up and walked to the door with him. "Bye guys" yoongi shouted. Everyone else said bye also. He hugged you, "bye, y/n , dont miss me too much aha" . "Shut up" you said in a playful way. "Okayokay sorry," he said, "ill miss you too." Before he opened the door to leave he kissed your cheek. You were blushing like crazy. Everyone was watching us..which was awkward. "Lovebirdsss" jin said, teasingly. "Shut up," you said, pushing him away.

Around half an hour later ,you went into your bedroom to grab your phone and saw you had a message, it was from yoongi. Obviously , you opened it as quick as you could and jumped on your bed. It said:

Hey, im almost at the hotel, you okay?

Yeah im okay, how long will

you be gone??? Not saying i

miss you or something stupid

Aha, ill only be gone for 3 days. Do you

You pressed your face into your pillow and kicked your legs in the air. Your whole face was red, you loved him so much. 6minutes later, your phone started ringing. Your heart was beating so fast, you never talk to yoongi on the phone, hes more of a texter. You picked up to see yoongi sitting at a desk. "Hey" yoongi said, smiling. "Hii,how are you? Youre taking care of yourself?" You asked him, slightly worried as you werent used to him being away. "Haha , ive only been gone for an hour." He said, covering his face as he laughed. "I know .. but im not used to you being away" you replied while playing with the strings on your hoodie. "I wanted to tell you something..well its more of a question.." yoongi said, quietly. Your heart dropped, "what is it?" "Well uh i..found your diary.." yoongi replied, obviously embarrassed. You felt your whole face turn red, "yoongi im so sorry i-" he laughed a little, "No don't apologise , i just wanted to know ..do you actually feel like that..?" you had never felt so embarrassed in your life, "i mean..yeah.." you mumbled. "Well i just wanted to tell you uhh .. i like you too" yoongi replied while blushing alot. You both went silent. "R-really?" You asked. Yoongi nodded and smiled, "so..wanna make it official..?" You nodded in response. Both you and yoongi smiled and started laughing a little. "I love you." you said while playing with your hair. "I love you too , aha." He replied.
