This series was licensed by CMX in the US and has been out of print for years only the first 3 chapters are translated and only volume 2 can be found on the internet archive

In my honest opinion, Season Zero handled the Shadi episodes (and the whole “two souls in one body” thing) far better than Duelist Kingdom could ever hope to achieve

#yugioh #screen redraw #Season 1 was still trying to figure out the whole card game thing #but they could’ve handled the actual plot better #if you’re gonna have Yugi break down over having no control of his body THEN SHOW IT #Don’t just leave it for a single duel against Kaiba like 20 episodes in #you gotta foreshadow the panic #show his unease-comment on the gaps in his memory-have him question things #you gotta do what the manga/season zero did

I don't know what's going ON.

Aya is a mirror of Bram's past. She's basically the audience. She knows what's going on but has no idea what's going on. Shin Soukoku is battling it out. Atsushi is discovering that Dazai's version of strength is to battle yourself not with others. Fyodor has a split personality but also no he doesn't. Sigma has been stabbed in the stomach (Asagiri sure likes stabbing people in the stomach (aka Dazai, Taneda)). Dazai is hurt. Sigma is hurt. Atsushi is hurt. Every one of the good guys save for Aya (and maybe Bram, though he is merely a head and shoulders) is hurt. The antagonists are those trying to force a narrative onto others. The protagonists are fighting tooth and nail against the narrative being set. There's too much going on. There's too little we know.
